Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. I had the Meatball Sandwich for Lunch today!! It was absolutely DELICIOUS!! Wish I would've bought TWO so I could've had the other for Dinner!! The bread was fresh and soft, and the meatball and sauce were seasoned to perfection!! I highly recommend Upper Crust!! Britajean

Found my go-to spot whenever I'm in Palmdale! They have a lot of veggie friendly options, their smoothies are perfect for the desert heat, and my coworkers enjoyed their sammies and pizzas too. We came in around lunchtime, so it was super busy. I'm guessing they had a huge order because there were bags upon bags of togo boxes piling up in someone's car. Because of that, they misheard my order and gave me a togo box even though I asked to eat in. Aside from that, it's bomb and tasty. Check it out!

The best sandwiches ever in the Antelope Valley. Fresh and delicious. They also offer fresh pastries. You gotta try the roasted turkey breast.
(5)Mike D.
I met a friend here for lunch. The first thing I noticed upon entering was that it smelled good, I could smell the food, or at least ingredients, kind of like when you walk into an old deli. Take a few steps in and you will find yourself at the order counter. Behind the counter you will see the extensive sandwich menu. If you are having trouble deciding there is a list of 5 of their most popular sandwiches posted to the left of the register. I decided on the Garlic Chicken Sandwich: Chicken Breast, Lettuce, Tomato, Provolone Cheese, & Garlic Aioli. I also ordered potato salad as a side dish. My fiend picked the Roasted Turkey Breast: Turkey With Swiss, Lettuce, Tomato & Cranberry Mayo. After ordering we took a seat. The sandwiches arrived shortly. Served on focaccia bread that is baked on site all the ingredients looked and tasted fresh. The chicken was tender and flavorful and my potato salad was tasty as well. My friend enjoyed is sandwich too and said he would be coming back, in fact he liked it so much that he ordered another one to bring home to his wife. The restaurant is bright and everything looked clean. There is seating for about 22 people with four 4 person tables and 6 stools at a counter that faces the front window. If you like sandwiches filled with fresh ingredients served on freshly baked bread I think you will enjoy Upper Crust.

Yummy food. All of their food is so good. My fav is the bbq sandwich. And I really don't like BBQ sauce. Pizza and baked goods are a must.
(5)Joe E.
I had the turkey melt here and it was mindblowing! The jalapeño salsa was also great to put on the sandwiches. A must go sandwich place

I write this review while sitting at one of Upper Crust's tables. This is my first time here and WOW, I'm so glad I finally drove all the way over here from the far opposite end of the valley to try it. I had seen great reviews for the past year, but as I have no reason to come to this side of town, I had never been. All of their sandwiches are served on white or wheat focaccia bread, which is delicious. I got the hot, whole garlic chicken sandwich combo with chicken poblano pepper soup and my free lemon coconut cookie courtesy of checking in on yelp. Everything was amazing! The garlic chicken sandwich had a fantastic white sauce with plenty of chopped up chicken. The cookie was fresh and delicious with big chunks of white chocolate and lots of lemon flavor. The soup was the only thing that was average, but still good. The whole sandwich and soup was too filling and I ended up taking half the sandwich home. Next time I would get the half sandwich and soup or salad. The customer service was great and helpful. They do not have wifi, but I had no problem connecting to the AT&T wifi from Star Bucks next door. It is the same layout as Subway, with a little more space against the long counter to accommodate some more chairs and tables. I can't believe that the Subway next door stays in business with this amazing, unique sandwich shop right next door. I will definitely make the drive over here again for an amazing meal!
(5)Deon W.
I love this place with the soup of the day to go along with your choice of great sandwiches...you cannot go wrong with the upper crust ...
(4)Pam M.
Dont miss this one! Best sandwiches, pizza and salads. Deserts are out of this world! BYW - they are moving to Palmdale. Just saw the sign at the shopping center by Buffalo Wild Wings and Fire Island. No problem, I'll follow them anywhere.
(5)Beck W.
Outstanding! Pizza was amazing. Salted caramel cake was a religious experience. Highly recommend!
(5)Sean A.
Been coming here since they opened a couple years ago and it just keeps getting better and better!!! I would recommend this place to anyone, no questions asked. I honestly can't recommend anything in particular because I have never had anything here that I did not absolutely love, no kidding. From their sandwiches and salads to the desserts and homemade soups. All outstandingly delicious. As a foodie, I can tell you that if you don't like anything here there is something seriously wrong with you.
(5)Brigette L.
We live right behind Upper Crust and usually walk to it on nice days. The inside is not the cleanest but the food makes up for it. My husband gets the BBQ chicken pizza and I get the Italian salad. Both are so delicious! We recommend this place to anyone that's looking for fresh and delicious Italian food.
(5)Brian W.
Traveling for work I saw uppercrust sandwiches and salads on yelp and decide to give it a try. The shop is small but clean pastries look delicious but I was hungry for a sandwich.I ordered the chipotle chicken sandwich on the recommendation of the cashier and it was delicious spicy messy crunchy everything you can hope for the sandwich. I also had the Greek salad on the side had a few more peppers that I'm used to but still very good and the vinaigrette was delicious. Overall a good sandwich a good salad and a reasonable price. definite place to stop If you're hungry for sandwich in the Palmdale area
(4)Abbey C.
Delicious place! So surprised that it was this good. I read the reviews and thought it might have been rigged, but they are not! I was very pleased. I ordered the roasted chicken sandwich and it was oh my gosh. And a large portion! I also ordered their chicken tortilla soup and it was awesome! Although I must mention it is a little on the spicy/salty side. The funny thing is, is they are located right next door to subway! Lol They are a definite must try! I will be coming back!
(5)Tony C.
Went here for the first time today and ordered two sandwiches to go. Extremely fast service, accurate orders, and amazing food! I ordered the chicken chipotle sandwich and it was by far the best chicken sandwich I've had. Would recommend and definitely will return!
(5)Natalie B.
I don't necessarily go out of my way to write reviews but told myself I had to tell the valley of this gem! IF I COULD HAVE A LAST MEAL BEFORE I DIED I WOULD EAT HERE. Over the top? Eat here and see! I've had many sandwiches here - all absolutely delicious! You seriously can't go wrong with ANYTHING you choose partially because the bread is amazing and obviously made in the store. (you can see the big dough mixer from the cash register) Although I've loved everything I've gotten here I recently had an item that was so delicious it forced me to write this review and had me thinking about it the day after. THE VEGETARIAN PIZZA. I think if anyone asked me what my favorite food ever was I would reply 'The vegetarian pizza from Upper Crust' They are pricey but can totally get away with it. YOU WILL NOT REGRET EATING HERE. P.s. Staff is also adorably kind.
(5)Sharay D.
First time here....and the guy that worked in there was very friendly. There was no wait I walked in was helped and walked out. I ordered the Chinese turkey salad. Very good. It's a minimal salad. But still good. Cabbage was fresh and the focaccia bread was very soft. Fresh food and healthy. I will definitely come back and try something else.
(4)Paulina F.
Delicious food! I've tried a variety of things here including the pastrami sandwich, the meat lovers' pizza, and the Cesar salad. I loved them all! The food is made pretty quickly, unless you arrive during lunch hour. The only thing I think they could improve on is the fact that the pastrami sandwich doesn't have enough pastrami in it. But that doesn't stop me from returning to this place frequently.
(4)Roseli C.
I been going to upper crust with my husband and family since they opened. No lie this place is my weekly stop. I at least go 3 times a week. I love there sandwiches. My all time favorite is the chipotle chicken sandwich you can't go wrong with that. I strongly recommend there food to everyone I know. Also there deserts are very good. Except there brownies which there way to sweet for my palate.
(5)Jesse H.
We stopped in for lunch on Saturday and enjoyed the food. The service was OK and the place was nice and clean. It was a bit overpriced, but the Bread is good and the potato salad was OK.
(3)Nicholas R.
First time here and ordered the turkey melt with chicken noodle soup for my side. Turkey melt was amazing and not heavy so didn't leave me feeling sluggish after lunch. Chicken noodle soup was very good but only had the smallest pieces of chicken and even smaller shreds of vegetables, while the noodles were quite large. The ladies being the counter were very polite and had a great and welcoming attitude. Definitely coming back when I am in the area again to try the rest of the menu.
(4)Marcos C.
Had the chipotle chicken sandwich it was made fresh. So much taste a must try sandwich. Staff is very nice it's a small place but great
(5)Vincent M.
So happy I found this place. Great food great prices.
(5)Joseph T.
Pizza is good you can make your own pies which I'd good for pick ppl and won't break the bank ill be back :-).
(4)Jack E.
We have been eating since they opened and like that it is different From every other sandwich shop, we like the difference and enjoy our visits.
(5)Shannon G.
I got the monthly special sandwich which was teriyaki chicken on wheat with cucumber, cilantro, green onion and wasabi sauce ~ the tomatoes. OMG! So good! Ken got the garlic lovers personal pizza. It looked really good to me. He scarfed it so I guess it was ok with him :-) The red potato salad rocked too! Only reason for 4 stars status was due to cleanliness..need to boost that up guys. All tables were dirty which means they were busy but not on top of it!
(4)Rich C.
Great food and always friendly service. I usually get the roast turkey breast because I love the cranberry mayo sauce. It tastes so good. Breads are fresh and the desserts are so good it's hard not to leave with out one. Try everything to find your favorite
(4)Jaime M.
Love Upper Crust! Salads are fresh and delicious, sandwiches are fantastic, and they deliver! Staff is always warm and friendly. You can call your order in ahead of time and pick it up at your convenience. Great place to grab a fast, heathy lunch!
(5)Bee W.

I wish you could have a place In quartzhill the massage center would be there everyday Kelly !!! Everything we have had has been amazing and the staff are just so spot on ! We shall be back !!! I deff will have to have a catered event from y'all !
(5)Megan M.
I accidently found this place when I was on my way to Subway. It's right next Starbucks and I would have never known it was there. I've seen no marketing or advertising for this place. The food was great! I ordered the chicken mushroom sandwich. It was cooked well, very good flavors and came with a generous Greek salad. Um, the salad had no kalamata olives on it, which normally I would overlook, however there were other menu items with kalamata olives. That doesn't make sense to me. The bread was made fresh there so that's a huge plus. I forgot what my husband ordered but he really liked it. He did not, however, like the choice of sides for it. He ended up with a bag of chips, which he would have gotten at Subway but I think he expected better. It looks like they have a monthly sandwich and this month it's meatloaf. The seating was a little cramped but we made it work. And I wanted to order dessert to-go but the line was long. So order when you order your food. The bathroom was clean and cozy. The food was a little pricey but when you think about what you're getting it's not too bad. I would choose this over Subway any day.
(4)Kristi S.
I tried the cheesecake and cookies and they were terrible. Besides the bad desserts their sandwiches are GOOD! My favorite is the turkey melt with the red potato salad.
(4)Brittni W.
Great sandwiches great pizza. The food here has always always been spot on anytime I've ever eaten anything here. Nice seating area. I live clear across town and come all the way down here just to eat here. Or I pick it up to go. The pastrami pizza is hands down the most delicious thing I've ever tasted. Try it you will thank me. Compliments to the chef and owner ! Customer for life here. Please open a second location in quartzhill! !!! Until then I shall come you. They also have the best chips to go with your meal and yummy decadent desserts. Try as much as you can here. You won't be disappointed.
(5)Liz M.
Delicious Chicken and Hummus Sandwich. I can't wait to try what else they have. Their cannolis were a little soft but the filling was delicious! Great service, nice little place.
(4)Adrian L.
I literally come to this restaurant about 2-3 times a week for their sandwiches. They are so delicious, and the bread they use (focaccia) is out of this world. Definitely recommend the chicken bacon ranch or their famous chipotle sandwich; however, j don't think you can go wrong with any of their sandwiches. They really need to expand and make more of these locations !
(5)Evan W.
-- they need to clean up -- Came in for lunch ordered a chicken sandwich combo with hummus. Overall the sandwich wasn't bad, lot of bread. Add to that more focaccia with the hummus; felt like a carb overload Reason for the 2 stars was due to the sticky tr
(2)Dave F.
Good hearty sandwiches. Nice variety. Slow but worrh it. Been here twice and i will come back as long as they dont effe it up. The french dip is my fav so far.
(4)Alessandra I.
Dropped in this afternoon for a late lunch with my husband. The two employees there were awesome, very friendly and helpful! They explained to me that their hummus (along with many other items) was made in house, and that won me over. I order the chicken hummus sandwich, which was very good and way filling. My husband had the garlic chicken sandwich, and that was good too. We also ordered a slice of the Reece's cheesecake they had out today. I loved that it tasted fresh, though for personal preferences it could have been a little sweeter! My husband noted that it was a bit expensive, but we figure considering that everything tastes fresher it was worth the extra couple of dollars. I've worked right around the corner for three years and never even saw that this place was there. So glad I took the suggestion of other yelpers and checked it out, definitely worth it. We'll be back!
(5)James B.
So I arrived a little late for the delicious all you can eat French toast. So I gave the chipotle chicken sandwich on wheat a try.....Fantastic and filling, you can taste the freshness of everything and the feeling of satisfaction it gives also. Had the broccoli cheese soup along with it. Another great choice. Some fresh brewed tea to wash things down was equally good. A casual atmosphere. A cafe sized inside dining area. And a menu that will give you many choices for a long time. I'll be back again.
(4)Mike A.
Uppercrust Cajun turkey.... Best sandwich I've ever had IN MY LIFE!!!! They also have great pizza!!
(5)Ashton O.
Man no complaints about this place I love everything about it food is amazing appropriately priced and the staff is awesome they all make you feel like you're friends and are super polite Buffalo chicken sandwich hummus and bread and macaroni n cheese is the best!!! The pizzas good too and they let you do half and half You can tell their bread is made fresh daily instead of frozen and you can taste the difference in every bite if you choose subway over this place you're an idiot
(5)Paulina L.
Depending on the season they have different deserts. I love that thy make their own bread.
(5)Fern D.
The turkey melt is a must have. Love it. Also french dip. :-) mm mm have to stop and have lunch or dinner.
(5)Lori M.
Passing through from LA to Carson City and yelped for a place outside LA limits to get out of traffic. Upper Crust came up and it was well worth veering a couple of miles from the well trodden freeway restaurants. Had the garlic chicken sandwich. Awesome. Had a side of red potato salad. Awesome. Will keep it in mind for future trips.
(5)Kevin W.
Best pizza is the pastrami pizza. I've had a few things from here like sandwiches and such everything has been very tasty. This pizza though is by far the best pizza I've ever eaten. Try to order it twice a month or more if we can. Only down fall they don't have a second location on the westside. It's okay though it's worth the drive. I shall be back upper crust.
(5)Grey J.
It's was first time here very delicious. I had a chiplote chicken sandwich combo with a Cesar salad.
(5)Navin A.
Good little hole in the wall. Pizza is a lil pricey but super bomb and they sometimes kick some deals on them. Try them out if you are trying to eat something different and healthy.
(5)Kenya M.
The garlic chicken is amazing! The fresh bread is still nice and warm when they give it to you. I would go here every day on lunch if it was closer to me. I think I might just need to go right now....I'm craving that garlic chicken sandwich.
(5)TJ S.
I've been here three times now and I must say it has become one of my favorite places to eat out here. 1) Chipotle Chicken Hot Sandwich: Chicken breast, provolone cheese, corn/bean salsa, lettuce, tomato and chipotle mayo. Lightly spicy. $6.50 and Broccoli Cheese soup. $2.99 -This is the best sandwich I've had from here so far and I ordered it the first time I went. There's a reason why it is their best seller. It was so delicious. The spiciness level was perfect. I also loved the soup. The best broccoli cheddar soup from a place like this. It far surpasses the same soup at Subway, Quiznos, and Panera Bread. 2) Chicken Mushroom Hot Sandwich: Chicken breast, mushrooms, provolone, spinach, tomatoes & basil-mayo 6.95 and Chicken Tortilla Soup. $2.99 -Once again another great sandwich! The flavors worked really well together and the mushrooms were not overbearing. The chicken tortilla soup is only average though. So far it's the only thing I've ordered there that I've been disappointed by. It was very bland and sub-par to other cafe's. 3) Cajun Turkey Cold Sandwich: Cajun Turkey breast, pepper jack, mayo, lettuce, tomato, avocado & our special cajun sauce. Not spicy... just loaded with flavor 6.95 -This was the most recent time I went. It was the first time I ordered a cold sandwich and it was fine, nothing extraordinary but sill delicious. I will probably stick to the hot sandwiches from now on though just because of how great those seem to be. My server forgot to put avocado on my sandwich but was very apologetic when I told him and asked for some on the side. Side note: The service is wonderful here. My friends and I always enjoy coming in because we know the staff are very friendly, and the guys aren't bad to look at either haha. I'd also recommend: Turkey Melt and pasta salad. The pasta salad is my favorite side they offer, it's delicious.
(5)A P.
I go to this place about once a month when I forget it's mediocre, and I'm in the mood for something else. It's decent. I wouldn't rave about the food but it's good enough. I really value customer service; however, the employees are NOT friendly AT ALL. Oh, and don't order the potato soup! It was water with chunks of potatoes. I asked for cheese to make it edible and I was charged 75 cents for ONE SLICE of cheese!!
(3)Mariah R.
You know those types of days where you want to lie in bed all day and order in? My husband and I relish those rare days. We used to order from this hole-in-the-wall sandwich shop that delivers. Too bad we moved out where deliciousness doesn't span out to many different delivering eateries. But our lazy days need sandwiches, and lazy days do not mean slaving in the kitchen to make delicious sandwiches. Thankfully, Upper Crust is a 3-minute drive away. Granted, it does not deliver, but I will take yummy sandwiches over delivery pizza any day - even if I don pajamas and a bed head at 7 o'clock in the evening. I ordered the seasonal favorite, the Gobbler. It was heaven in two pieces of bread. We went about a month ago, so we weren't on Turkey Overload yet; even days after Thanksgiving I would be up for another Gobbler. It. was. just. that. good. I originally wanted a Beef Dip, but after the reviews online I decided against it. Beef dips are supposed to be thinly sliced beef, but others stated it was shredded and not like what one would normally expect. While we were waiting on our food, I noticed the menu blocked out the words "shredded" on a few different menu items, including the Beef Dip. Next time maybe I will venture to see if they changed the recipe. My husband ordered BLTA and thoroughly enjoyed it. However, he ordered a side of tortilla soup. He didn't like it, and I hated it. DO NOT ORDER IT, unless you are a huge fan of tortilla soups. He really wanted soup, but that was the only option available. Let's hope next time they have better options. The sandwiches are quite large; half a sandwich is enough for a meal. We didn't know that and unfortunately over ordered. Although we were stuffed, we still needed dessert for our lazy day. :-] My husband ordered pumpkin pie and I ordered tiramisu. The pumpkin pie was mediocre at best. It tasted store bought and at least a day old. The ambiance is ehhh and the place is quite small inside, but the food quality is superior to subway or quiznos. In fact, it's fair to say the ambiance and small space is also better than quiznos and subway. We will definitely be returning.
(4)Cory S.
Pastrami Pizza... Amazing! I wasn't sure I would even try it but once I was talked into it I was pleased and will be back again.
(4)Mary Lou C.
Delicious sandwiches! I had the garlic chicken sandwich and the garlic aioli sauce was amazing. I generally prefer warm sandwiches so when I asked for it to be warmed, they were super nice about it. I didn't care too much for the potato salad though; I think the herbs in it was too overpowering. My husband had the chipotle chicken sandwich and he enjoyed it and said it tasted a bit better than the one at Panera. Would definitely visit the shop again!
(4)Buddhika E.
Great food! love their pizza. great customer service. one of my fave places in the AV
(5)Katherine K.
Best sandwiches in the AV! I got the turkey spinach with artichoke pesto and broccoli cheddar cheese soup and both were amazing!!
(5)Sarai G.
I have liked this company on facebook for some time now because of a recommendation. Now I finally get to try it and it was good. I love the variety in their menus. For example, I wasn't feeling a whole sandwich so I went with their # 3 combo and ordered a 1/2 Turkey sandwich with cranberry mayo with a deli side( red potato salad). It was the perfect portions and delicious. I fell in love with the bread. I generally don't like ciabatta bread but I ate every last crumb. I didn't even get to sample their pizza and amazing desserts they have showcased as you walk in. Oreo Brownies and Tiramasu. The location is a bit strange since they are one spot away from a Subway but who am I to judge.
(5)Rod C.
Awesome sandwiches. I haven't tried many of the other offerings, but the sandwiches here are really good. Good bread, tasty ingredients, and a pretty creative menu. This place sure beats Subway or Quiznos. I recommend the beef dip.
(5)Bethany K.
Fresh, homemade, deliciousness!!!! The sandwiches don't look very large at first, but the homemade bread and real meat and toppings fill you up quick. I could barely eat 1 sandwich for lunch. Cookies are delicious and really taste homemade. Restaurant is decorated nicely. Each time I was there, the tray my food was served on was dirty, and one time the customer trash can was leaking. Call your order ahead at lunchtime as they get super busy and there can be a wait, which is definitely worth it!
(4)Melissa L.
I like the sandwiches, but i'm not a fan of the pizza. I don't understand why they don't just pick one and specialize, but hey...its not my business. The service is really slow. I mean, if you are in a rush....do not go here! It is, however, a nice getaway from the normal sandwich chains in the area. And since its locally owned, I like to go support our small businesses.
(4)Christopher P.
OK, so I have a really mixed review here. First off, let me say, that I really enjoyed my food, even tho it was a complete departure from what I expected. That said, however, my girlfriend, who ordered the same exact thing, really did not like it. Here's the problem. The name of this place is Upper Crust. This conjures up an image of a really nice crusty french loaf on which the sandwiches are made, instead of the ubiquitous "large hot dog rolls" that most places here in California serve. Being from New Jersey, I know a thing or two about good bread that most Californians don't know, so I got my hopes up. There's even a picture on the front of the menu with a very nice looking, crusty piece of french bread. So, having looked at the menu, I went into this place and ordered the "Beef Dip" -- expecting thinly-sliced roast beef on a nice crusty piece of french bread, with caramelized onions and mushrooms and a nice bit of au jus to dip it in. However, what we both received was definitely not that. First of all, the sandwich bread (the "white" that we chose over wheat) was Focaccia bread. In my opinion it was delicious -- my girlfriend disagreed -- but it was a complete departure from what we or anyone else expects when ordering a "Beef Dip". The beef was basically pot roast. Shredded beef cooked all the way through. It was quite tasty -- again, in my opinion, and certainly not my girlfriend's -- but a complete departure from anyone's image of what a Beef Dip should be. Both of us really enjoyed our included salads -- a Greek Salad for me and a Caesar Salad for her... However, salad should never be served in the same plate as a sandwich. It's impossible to mix the dressing into the salad without getting it on the sandwich, and those tastes should be kept separate. Additionally, Cindy's salad had what she called "a fuzzy" in it that she pulled off and ate the salad anyway. Upon closer inspection, I don't know what it was -- it was a black clay-like ball just a couple of millimeters in size... That was the first thing she found when she got her plate, so that may explain why she really didn't like anything else. She did enjoy the Caesar Salad, however, so I can only assume she really just didn't like the sandwich. She doesn't care for pot roast, so that may explain it. Neither of us particularly cared for the au jus. It wasn't a typical au jus, had very little flavor (it could not possibly have been the juice from cooking that beef, because the beef had lots of flavor) and had a layer of liquid fat on the top that should have been strained off before serving. It served the purpose of wetting the sandwich without imparting any flavor, which would have been terrible but, as I said, the beef had a lot of flavor on its own, so it worked out OK. The place wasn't exactly dirty, but I had to clean the crumbs off the table myself before we sat down. The floor had lots of crumbs and other debris on it, but I could let that slide because of the dust storms we've had today -- it's been crazy out there, and I'm sure a lot of that blew in. In short, I enjoyed my meal, however, I think that if they want to keep customers happy they're going to have to make a pictorial menu that shows what each item looks like, so customers aren't surprised when they get something that looks nothing like what they thought they ordered. They really should start making a nice crusty bread that lives up to the namesake of "Upper Crust". I will return, especially to try the pizza that everyone seems to rave about -- however, I will have to return solo because my girlfriend was so under-impressed that she will not return.

I passed by this place recently and decided to check it out. I remember it formally as 'It's a Pita!" however it is now "Upper Crust". Don't let the name weird you out, this is definitely a great place you do not want to pass up! The food is great, the staff is friendly, and everything is so fresh it just makes me smile! Because the sauces are made from scratch, each one has a unique blend and flavor. I am quite fond of the BLTA and get a side of garlic mashed potatoes, they are as good as it gets. The deserts are also extremely yummy! I've tried all of their deserts and it's hard to just pin one down as my favorite. The side of "Dirty's" chips are also hard to pass up! As far as food and flavor goes, DO NOT PASS THIS PLACE UP! The service is also always exquisite, and we are always greeted warmly by the staff. Because they are mostly on the 'Chef' side, and not as technologically savvy, there were a few hiccups the first time we were there, as far as ringing us up, but it was straightened out quickly and we haven't had any problems since. They have one restroom and seating is similar to the smaller subway restaurants in that there is one row of tables of chairs. Been here several times, and have yet to have a bad experience.
(5)Jill H.
I came here on a whim for lunch. I wanted to avoid the nearby McDonalds. I must say I'm happy I found this place. I had the smoked turkey and Caesar salad combo. The bread was amazingly fresh. The sandwich had great flavors and the salad was fresh.

This place is MORE than great. If you love REAL Pizza, you can call this location a "MIRACLE" in the Antelope Valley ! Like an Oasis in the desert ! Really, if you never went to Europe/Italy and you think what you eat at every other Pizza place is real, you are WRONG ! Most of the Pizzerias in this County, offer: "fake/nasty sauce, fake/cheap cheese and TERRIBLE dough". Result: It's not a PIZZA ! These guys here at Upper Crust, take the time to make HOMEMADE EVERYTHING! Nothing's from their freezer. They serve real Italian Focaccia ! Can you believe that ? Their dough is unbelievably tasty, crispy, thin. ORIGINAL ! The tomato on the pizza is FRESH ! (*** Do you know how many times we asked for fresh tomato on the pizza and recieved canned tomato-crap or from a bag ?? *** LOL). Mozzarella is REAL and FRESH ! (*** Most of the stores use cheap/bagged/nasty/grated/powdered cheese called Low Moisture Mozzarella ?? What ?? ..a Surrogate ! ***). If you had a pizza in Italy, during a beautiful Sunset, with friends and girls, you will get confused, eating here at Upper Crust. Close your eyes and you can imagine you are in Rome... Their Beef Dip Sandwich is delicious ! Real Au Jus ! All Sandwiches are made with Focaccia Bread, straight from the oven ! Potato Salad is good. And the Tiramisu' is one of the best in the A.V. THANK YOU ! YOU GUYS ARE DOING A GREAT JOB and RAISE THE LEVEL OF THIS TOWN ! PS: Try the "Garlic Lovers" Pizza (Fresh Tomato, Crispy Bacon, Fresh Mozzarella, Garlic and Fresh Spinach) YUMMY, a new world will pop up before your eyes... :)

Yum! Visited for the first time tonight, and the hubs and I were pleased with our dinners. He enjoyed his turkey w/ hummus, and I loved my turkey & cranberry. Try the Greek salad, it's a terrific side. Whatever you do, also make sure to sample the homemade hot sauce! It leant a special kick to the sandwiches. We didn't try any desserts this time, but definitely will be back and looking forward to trying the sweets. It does take some time for the food to come out, but it didn't seem overlong. It seems that the flatbread is being cooked to order, which is pretty nice. Very very good bread!! I felt that the pricing was definitely reasonable, particularly when you consider that it does include a wide variety of side dishes. I hope that they're successful, because it's so great to have a place where you can tell that so much thought went into the food.

Great sandwiches, I have really enjoyed all the ones I've had...and the red potato salad is to die for! Only issue is things have been forgotten aka- my au jus was forgotten more than once...so enjoy your sammy, but recheck your bag if you order to-go.

Upper Crust has good quality food, flavorful, and not overworked. Focaccia is amazing, as are the deserts. Would recommend to them that they get away from styrofoam containers, its tacky, especially for a food joint that could show themselves a higher standard. Also, up the maintenance on the interior accoutrements. Things need attention to detail. Other than that, we will be going back again.

The food is fresh and tasty. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the hummus chicken sandwich - the bread is baked fresh for you right on site. They piled on the feta which I absolutely love! It did take a while to get our food, but given that everything is prepared fresh, it's excusable. The store is modest but welcoming. The only downsides are the prices and the tables were dirty although no one was in the restaurant when I arrived. I will go back for sure.

I have been wanting to try this place for some time and finally got over. I wish I wouldn't have waited so long because it is amazing! I had the garlic beef and it was good, the bread is fresh and I can't wait to try the salads and the hummus chicken sandwich!

My husband and I just happened to be next door and we were hungry. I don't know why decided to try it, but I'm glad I did! Everything taste so fresh and the bread that they make there is OUTSTANDING. It is my new favorite place to go! I recommended it to everyone I know. It is a little bit of a pricey and a little wait to get your food. But definitely well worth it!

The food here is fantastic. Seriously. You can taste the freshness. The bread is excellent. We've gotten food here a few times now and I've never been disappointed. My favorite sandwich is the roasted turkey with the cranberry mayo. Trying something new again today, and still haven't tried a pizza...yet. But we will!

One of Antelope Valley's best kept secrets...Hope it won't be a secret for long. Food is to die for and the owner is a gem. Do your taste buds a favor, check this place out!

maybe any business in this location is bound to fail and be bad? this was previously a restutant called "it's a pita" and it was terrible. anyway tried upper crust yesterday and was not amazed. walked in and it was dead but all the counters were filthy. my bf and I ordered sandwiches and the girl ringing us up seemed dazed and confused the whole time. I asked for avocado on my turkey melt and guess what, when we got home NO AVOCADO. the one thing that really bothered me is when we were done ordering she asked us if we wanted to order desert, TWICE. After our second "no thank you" she kept pushing it on us and asking us why we didnt wan to purchase desert. Talk about obnoxious. I HATE pushy people. My boyfriend got a roast beef that he spefically asked for with no onions, there were tons on it. It was an OK sandwich. My turkey melt was ok too. Pasta salad was flavorless and the potatoe salad was too. Definitely not worth $16.35. And to top it of they said it would be 10min for our food but it took almost 20 and it wasn't even hot when we got it. If this place stays open ill be surprised.

The food is decent...nothing 2 write home about. I thought the "bakery" would b a bit more impressive, but it was really small, filled with what looked like store bought goodies. I do like the focaccia bread that's used 4 the sandwiches.

The sandwiches here are GREAT! The only reason it doesn't have 5 stars is because there still are some wrinkles that need to be worked out with regard to the flow of service and the interior. That being said, I'll be coming here often!

I work right down the street from this place so as I was passing it one day I figured I'd try it out and see if it was any good. They met my expectations and more. First time I went I got a Turkey Melt w/ lettuce & tomato with a side of potato salad. Although the potato salad wasn't my first choice (I originally wanted garlic mashed potatoes but they were out) I must say I was satisfied. The bread is so fresh it almost makes the sandwich by itself but the garlic aioli and the au jus added just as much great flavor too. The second time I went I got a chipotle chicken sandwich with avocado (hoping for a side of garlic mashed potatoes but they were out again) and a Greek flatbread pizza. The sandwich was good and what you would expect for a chipotle style sandwich but what really got me was the Greek pizza. I can honestly say they've got one of the best Greek pizzas I've ever had. The pricing is quite reasonable too considering it's all made fresh. I have yet to try the dessert but from the looks of it their sugary treats look like they'd satisfy any sweet tooth. I can't comment on the cleanliness of the place because I ordered pick up over the phone both times but it looked pretty well maintained to me. The other downside was being let down on the garlic mashed potatoes both times. I mean if it sells out and it's a popular food item then why not make a larger quantity of it and satisfy more customers. Nevertheless, I'm not going to hate on a place because they ran out of something. Hell, they've got me going back either way. Definitely a must to try out if you're looking for something different than fast food and something different than a sit down restaurant. It's about right in the middle of both categories. I'm hoping they can get a delivery service started soon too cause it's not always too easy for me to leave work and I'd love to have their food over any other delivered food.

Moved to AV a month ago and have been on the look out for a really good sandwich place-Yes Subway, I'm cheating on you. This place has really good sandwiches-I've been trying them all and so far no disappointment yet. The garlic mashed potatoes are to die for. It has the right amount of garlic and spices, nothing too overpowering. Will be going for the pizza's soon.

Went there a few weeks ago. The food was really good. I wasn't sure what to get so I asked the guy working and he went through a few of the different sandwiches telling me what was on them and asking what I liked as well. I ended up getting the Garlic Chicken sandwich and it was GREAT! It took awhile to get my order but everything is prepared fresh so I didn't mind. I will definitely be back!

This place is way better then the shop two doors down (Subway). The bread is made fresh when you order so of course it will take a few extra minutes to get your food. The soups are from scratch and very good. They were very busy when I was there but seemed to get the orders out fairly quick. They definitely will be getting return business from me.

They have a few things to work out but it doesn't get better than walking in, placing an order and watching them throw your dough in the oven. The bread is so good it could stand on it's own and be an amazing lunch. It doesn't have to I had the hummus chicken wife had the turkey melt and both were really good. Sides need some work and $8 for just the sandwich is a little steep for my tastes.

My husband's been wanting me to try this place. I finally gave in and agreed. I'm glad I did. The sandwich was surprisingly good. It was different, a good different. It was the bread and the sauce. I would definitely come here again.

The best sandwiches in town. The bread is baked on site every day, the ingredients are fresh, the salads are tasty. They have a pastry chef on staff who will bake you a pie to order. Do yourself a favor, and check this place out. I'll be going again soon.
