This is my go-to Mexican joint in the AV. Their salsas are hot and delicious as well as all the food I have ordered. My favorite has to be the pozole on a nice cold day. The medium bowl is big and definitely hits the spot.

All I can say is wow. The food is delicious and authentic, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the building was clean. The BEST horchata in the AV by far. I ordered the number one combo to go, and it was very satisfying. I don't know how this place isn't more popular. The beans taste home made and that's important to me when it comes to Mexican food. One of the best places in town. I live on the eastside of Palmdale & I drive out there just to eat. I grew up in Los Angeles where there is a wide selection of quality restaurant. So, when I moved up to Palmdale is was missing a good Mexican restaurant. Of course we have Mi Ranchito which by "NO" means am I saying they are good. This first time I went to Tortilla Grill, I was greeted by Jimmy. We joked around & he said, "I hope you like the food." I then responded by saying, "if I like it I will always come back." So of course I fell in love with their food. Now I have drive across town for some good food but it's all worth it. Jimmy & everyone that works there are very polite & friendly. Another thing I notice is people respect what Jimmy has going on there, so everyone seems to be quiet & respectful. I always get there menudo with homemade tortillas. The menudo is great. It reminds me of the way my mom cooks. I also like their tacos. They give you a good portion of meat. My wife has had the machaca plate. I have to say the steak they use to make it is delicious. There menu has a big selection of food which I will need to try. So if you haven't tried this place, give it a chance!!! Support our local businesses & let's all keep the AV growing. Got the carne esada burrito and al pastor taco and they were yummy!! I've gone with the bf twice this week.. wanted to go back today for their little Porto's section but we forgot lol. Might make it three visits tomorrow. Woohoo! Oh and melon drink is so refreshing on a hot day!

I was raised eating Mexican food, so it's hard to find "Real" good authentic Mexican food. I saw when they opened, and decided to check it out. I have been going to this restaurant since they opened. I absolutely have no complains. And let me add that recently they have added Portos bakery desserts as well. Now, for anyone that doesn't know what Portos is, look it up! Very good bakery! So yes... tortilla grill will probably help me never lose those extra pounds. Ha ha! I don't mind the food and workers are great. My family and I enjoy it.

Sunday morning. 12pm. We walked in after church and the place was packed. i ordered the sope con taco combination and my wife ordered the three enchilada combination. It took them awhile but the food was great! The older hispanic manager at the counter could have been friendlier. The other two hispanic ladies were great at customer service. Overall, if you want great mexican food in the AV, this is where it's at. A fellow church member gave me a sample of his green posole. It was spicy but delicious. I will be going back again. Sorry Mi Ranchito, your days are over. Also try Taqueria Pepe El Toro on 20th St W./Av J6, decent mexican food as well.

Was there for dinner on a Friday evening. Service was great, staff was friendly, but the food was not that great. 5 people in our party, 2 complained the food was cold. The refried beans looked and tasted like they were left over from lunch (or later). Rice was dry and tasteless. And the guacamole? OK, it was only like 85 cents but it's that green watery stuff that comes out of a jug. Yuch! Not impressed.

Came here for lunch the other day and then after taking a bite of that Carne Asada Torta I began wondering why it took me so darn long to get here in the first place. Tightly packed inside a tiny plaza containing a Liberty Tax and McDonalds, the parking situation can be pretty rough during the lunch rush hour. Featuring a large menu of taco truck favorites, you have your choice of either combo-ing it which will include rice and beans, or you can simply go a la carte. This time around I went for a Carne Asada Soft Taco, a Carne Asada Torta, and a Coke. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and offered me chips while I waited for my order. The sauce bar features three levels of heat, with explanations from mild to super hot. My order came not too long after paying, and after munching through the taco and torta both of them immediately reminded me of the Taco Truck near my last job down in Van Nuys. The items are a tad pricier than what you would expect at a Taco Truck. However, the fresh ingredients, the delicious food, and the fast and friendly service are well worth it. I then found out that refills to sodas are free and they do take credit cards (no minimum charge found). My order ended up costing about $9.01 total. Your mileage may vary but I left feeling very satisfied without that overly greasy feeling. Tortilla Grill is an excellent option for Mexican dining and they are fast enough for those workers who only have an hour lunch break. I cannot recommend this place enough and I hope to give them more of my business before I leave the AV for good.

Lancaster is not exactly the Land of Awesome Taco Places... our one tiny bright spot is The Tortilla Grill. Very Nice Carne Asada!! If you are from the San Fernando Valley and are familiar with Taco Llama... They are comparable Taco shops!! Five Stars!!

Terrible place I ordered a chicken burrito with just rice meat and cheese with sour cream specifically with no salsa, or onion of any kind. Received my good made it all the way home opened it and its FULL OF SALSA. Tried to call and talk to a manager and there was no answer I called several to around 2:00pm no answer. I will never eat here again waste of money.

Came back to give it another try, there were nice to offer a burrito on the house. Order the same as last time plus a torta. Normally tortas aren't to have rice and veggies in it, it's more beans cheese and your choice of meat. It was amazing this time around, probably was just a hectic time I came in the previous time. Same staff was there nice and very pleasant as the last time I came in. My husband was happy and the chips were good not stale. And we had a two cookies from Portos that were also on the house. I read the great reviews on yelp, but I was let down. Don't get me wrong, the food is good, but certainly not the best I've had in the AV. The employees were nice, the food was fresh, and came out quickly. The chicken taco stood out, but everything else (carne asada burrito and torta with rice and beans) was just average. It seemed more like fast food than real authentic Mexican food.

First time tortilla grill. They are very nice helped with picking out something from their menu. Menu are right above with photos. They offer breakfast. Menu weekends and Sunday green pozole, which I cant wait to try on a cold day. Everything was fresh, salsa was very good. They have mild, medium, hot, and very hot. They are all pretty spicy. What's nice and hardly find in mexican restaurants, are red onions in vinegar and oregano. Pricing is about $10 per person. Their fresh aguas/flavored waters are cold and refreshing. The naranjas/orange taked me back to Mama fresh squeezed oj. Seating is good. Order snd the bring your food to you. And chips for the table. Parking is good. Clean. And the best part is they have yummy Portos for dessert. Thank u for a great experience. Im giving a 4 for now. I need to try this place a couple more times.

I went there about a week ago. Decided to order the asada burrito and quesadilla as well as pastor tacos, and I can't complain at all. Food was great, and the employees hand deliver your food to you instead of just calling you to come get it yourself.

Now I know why this place has such great reviews. I got the burrito and taco combo and my wife got the chicken enchiladas combo. Both of us were pretty satisfied. Taste better than the other Mexican shops around town. Place is clean inside and friendly customer service. I didn't try the Portos desserts but think it's cool they bring them down daily because who doesn't like Portos lol. Overall fresh tasting and good size portions with average prices. Will definitely be my new go to spot for Mexican food.

All I have tried here so far is the Carne Asada tacos, pretty good, not nearly as good as King Taco, but there aren't any King Tacos up here. Put some lime juice and some extra salsa on them and they are pretty damn good, I will definitely be going back to try other items on the menu. The service here is also very very good.

Just an update. I been coming here for quite a bit now and after this last time I will be a customer for life. A month back I mentioned to the owner that I had ordered an all meat burrito to go and when I got home it was a combo (meat, rice, beans). Still exceptionally well made but the incorrect order none the less. She apologized over and over and I said it really wasn't a big deal, I wouldn't stop coming here over something like that. It was more of an anecdote because I was expecting all meat and got a mouthful of rice. Anyway a few weeks had passed and I came in again, ordered my meal and next thing I know, she yells out from the back "it's on the house". I said no that's not necessary and she said she wanted to make sure I was taken care of. How about that?! Epic customer service. It's great because I come here more and more and it's getting busier and busier. This town needs a place like this and I think with great food and even better customer service it's here to stay.

Tortilla Grill is a tiny counter-ordering restaurant with very nice staff. It seats about 40, there are two TVs, about four booths and about the same amount of tables. You can do groups, but I really wouldn't recommend groups larger than 6. To the right of the ordering counter is a nice little salsa bar including; 4 types of salsa, pickled jalapeños, radishes and one more item I can't remember at the moment. Since it was our first time there, we went with what we would usually order at a Mexican restaurant (quesadilla and taco combo all asada and a carnitas burrito and asada taco combo). The combo meant we got rice and beans. All in all, it was pretty good. I felt the meat was a better quality than most. Thankfully they can cook beans (bad beans = bad everything else), unfortunately my wife thought the beans were a little bland. My only issue out of this whole experience was their portion sizes. It really seemed like they were rationing for some unforeseen disaster. Usually at a Mexican restaurant you have to tell them to stop with the beans, not so much the case here. Also, not to mention the rationing of cheese in the quesadilla (there were a couple of mouthfuls of just tortilla). But, in the end, not bad. Three stars is a little low, and 4 would be too high; definitely a 3.5. Enjoy everybody!!

I have been coming here for a while now. I have never been disappointed with anything I've ever ordered. I'm not saying this is the best Mexican food ever, but it is really good. I am super picky about tripas and they are the best I've had out here. The service has always been friendly. Ordering is easy and the service is fast. This is the list of what my favorites are and recommend: the tacos; the burritos; Mojarra plate; the tortas; and the green pozole. I also love their salsa bar too. Try the Cali-fries and the Cali-Burrito. The agua frescas are always good too.

The place is under new management since last time I went three years ago, and I'm impressed with the improvements the new owner have made. The food is really good, I tried a free sample of the pozole verde and it was really nicely balanced and flavorful. My dinner was good too, not excessively greasy like a lot of other Mexican places. What I was most impressed with however was the service! Everyone was so nice and the man that took our order came to our table to check up on us and make sure we were having a good time. The waitress was quick to refill our drinks and get us anything else we needed, it was a really nice dining experience. I will come back not just for the food, but for the service. People who care so much about their diners deserve to be successful and they were all really wonderful.

This place is okay. The chips are somewhat stale, and my asada taco had a strange taste. The cow my taco came from must of put up a fight because the meat was super tough. The salsa bar is adequate nothing to go ape sh*t over. My friend seems to have enjoyed the place enough to put a dent on her plate. She was also starving however. Cops love to eat here for some reason, both times when I visited the restaurant there were cops eating and dishing out strange glances at everyone entering the place. I will most likely not visit this place again.

Grossly overrated. In my experience (4 visits), the food here is pretty bland - mediocre at best. The to-go service is fine, certainly nothing to complain about. But the food is, in a word, boring. It's close to home and I really want to like it, but I think I'm done with it. Really disappointing given the other glowing reviews.

I first visited Tortilla Grill about 4 months ago and have gone at least 6 times since then and I have yet to be disappointed . From my first visit the owners were very welcoming. Since it was our first time there the owners offered suggestions and even gave us a free sample of their green posole! Yes, green posole with bacon. BACON! I've been hooked on that thing since the first time I tried it and get it every time I go no matter how hot it is outside. I've so far tried their chiles rellenos, carne asada, chorizo and al pastor tacos, carne asada gorditas, torta and mojarra frita (fried tilapia) and they were all tasty and would definitely recommend them. Just be careful with the chorizo tacos, they're spicy and you don't need to add salsa unless you like your food extra spicy. They offer regular fountain drinks, Jarritos, Mexican Coke as well as aguas frescas like horchata and jamaica. Their salsa bar is always full of tasty salsas to add to your meal or to dip your chips in that range from mild to very hot. The restaurant is clean, the food is always fresh, and the owners are friendly and care about their customers, which are all reasons to keep coming back. Only downside is that they share the parking lot with McDonald's, a nail salon, a hair salon and a Chinese takeout place so sometimes parking can be a hassle, but the food is worth it!

The friendly staff did a great job running the business the first two times we went. We ordered the carne asada plate. It was delicious! Last time we went I ordered the chicken and steak enchiladas and I was so disappointed that I had to drop my 5 star rating to 3. So dry, no flavor and the steak inside was so hard to chew that I had to just leave it on the plate and have it thrown out. Hopefully it was just the way they made it that day because we really liked this place the first few times we went. We may head back again to give it another shot but at this point we have been exploring other places.

Carne asada tacos are the best in town. Chicken tostada salad is amazing. Sunday pasole verde can't be beat. Breakfast burritos are delish. They also have Porto's pastries. I eat here a couple times a week and it is my favorite Mexican food in town. Keep the money local and definitely check this place out. Corporate restaurants don't compare to this "ma and pa" restaurant.

It's decent for a taco/ burrito mex place. Not my favorite but good. If they offered more like fajitas, pollo Asada, arroz con pollo, and abondigas it would be better
