Turkey Avocado on squaw was so fresh and so good - lots of avocado and the full sandwich was only $5.75...you can't beat it! Love that this is a 'mom and pop' place...will definitely be back to support this small business!
(5)Claudia C.
I love this place! I go at least once a week, since it's so close to work. Nancy is so sweet and always remembers I don't like mushrooms or olives in my salad. Lol Turkey Avocado on squaw is AMAZING! Chicken Breast and Avocado salad is AMAZING! Very fresh romaine heart and veggies in it. I stick to those two but when my coworkers order other stuff they've always raved about it as well. I love it!

Sandwich Plus is the perfect example of a mom and pop restaurant. In fact I'm pretty sure it's owned by a mom and pop - Nancy and her husband (?) who I've never gotten a chance to speak to. It's a small little spot tucked away in a business lot so you may miss it the first time you visit. They have a pretty traditional sandwich menu here - you won't find any crazy sriracha aioli open-faced sandwiches, but you'll be able to order a great sub with fresh ingredients and hearty portions (the large is more than a meal. you've been warned!) They've got both hot and cold sandwiches, I usually stick to the pastrami and cheese or turkey bacon avocado. Everything I've tried here has been pretty good and Nancy is super friendly. I'm happy to support these small businesses because my parents used to own a restaurant when I was growing up. I'm even happier to support when they serve quality food like SW+.

If you consider the combination of price, portion and quality then this place is definitely 5 stars. For $7, you can get a HUGE Italian sandwich that would feed 2 hungry people with normal appetites. I can put away sandwiches like nobody's business and a large one here absolutely stuffs me. My favorites are the Italian (#2) and the Baja Beef (#27). I also like their Triple Deluxe Salad when I don't feel like getting a carb overload. My coworkers call the owner the Sandwich Nazi because she can be a little bossy. She also has a crazy memory and remembers what people order even if you've only visited a couple of times. To be honest, I've had better sandwiches elsewhere but none of those other places are within 30 miles of here. The only knock I have is that she runs out of their large french rolls sometimes. If you're nearby and are in the mood for a good sandwich, then you should try this place out. You won't be disappointed (unless she runs out of bread).
(5)Diane D.
This restaurant is the best! They use the freshest most high quality ingredients available and at a reasonable price! Every sandwich I have tried is delicious. The tuna and avocado and the Baja roast beef and green chili are two of my favorites. Their salads are delicious and include lots of fresh high-quality vegetables. I highly recommend this sandwich shop. You really need to try it fresh high-quality ingredients at a reasonable price delivered quickly - super yummy!
(5)Greg H.
Good selection of sandwiches, owners are friendly and service is fast. Get the large and two meals are sorted.
(4)John B.
Great sandwich. Nancy always remembers my order, even when it's been a while. Worth a trip even though I only have to walk across the street!!
(5)J V.
The owner is very rude . Sandwiches where too hipped up. Jersey Mikes are much better quality.
(1)Diana N.
Great, simple sandwich! I got a turkey/avocado on squaw with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and mayo. LOTS of avocado - Im kind of avo-obsessed so that was a bonus for me. Got a little baggy of jalapeños on the side also. Fresh ingredients and speedy, friendly service. Came in at 2 after the lunch rush and my sandwich was ready in a minute! Literally. One minute!
(4)Jr H.
I love this place best. place to get lunch and breakfast in Irvine. Very friendly clean professional atmosphere.
(5)helen c.
i moved to the irvine office late last year and was looking for places to eat nearby... not only was sandwich plus highly rated on yelp, it was highly recommended by my new office mates. the sandwiches are made to order. the ingredients are super fresh. they gave you a lot of fillings. the service is friendly, but kind of slow... however, just order by phone and it'll be ready when you get there the lady, nancy, always remember that i previously ordered and says "you like to change things up!" they are cash only. they offer both fountain and can soda. they have jalapeno slices on the side and you put into a little baggie.
(5)Mike A.
Good find near my office in Irvine. It can be hard to find a good quick bite for a reasonable price. Who wants to battle the crowds at the Spectrum or settle for artery clogging fast food? I had the Tuna on squaw. Fresh, quick, and affordable. I will be back soon!
(4)Hashtag A.
Such goodness and strong work ethic on behalf of the team. The sandwiches are amazing, I personally am obsessed with sandwiches. I will definately keep coming back!!
(5)Joseph Y.
Nancy literally remembers all of her regular customers names and their orders! Her and her husband are the cutest and nicest owners ever. Their sandwiches are stuffed full with only fresh ingredients. Call ahead of time to avoid the lunch crowd rush. Cash only!
(5)Guy B.
Good, basic sandwiches. 40 combinations to choose from. Freshly made and close to my work!
(4)Randy W.
Ate lunch here for the first time today. I had the #2, $6.25 for sand which, chips and drink, not too bad. The food was good for the price and the service was great. Will definitely come back.
(5)S P.
Small place but quick and one of the best salads I've had for the price! Definitely will try again.
(4)Joseph W.
Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow.

As a former undergrad from UCSD, who went to a lot of mexican joints, the #1 rule is to always have CASH. And same goes for Sandwich Plus. No Cash = no sandwich. Lesson #1 in this school for hard knocks. But man, they make subway look like a joke. Fresh ingredients and such welcoming and hospitable couple working at the restaurant. I'm a big fan of sandwiches with avocados and they got that. And it's not skimpy portions either, the avocados actually fall out, and I literally have to lick it off my fingers because I don't want no avocado going to waist. Try it, you'll love it. If you don't, don't come back.
(5)Alex P.
Awesome sandwiches made with tasty fresh ingredients and welcoming service. I mean, where else is there a whole menu section dedicated to avocado lovers?!
(5)Ted N.
OK, I have eaten a lot of sandwiches before but this shop is really awesome and knows what they are doing. Three of us got sandwiches and each was rated tops. I recommend the Baja Beef personally. Get there soon. BTW Tim Conway eats here.
(5)Behrouz B.
Everything tastes great at this place. I love their sandwiches and salads. Very friendly and great value for price. They only accept cash and calling ahead during lunch time is recommended. Love it!!!
(5)Nick K.
I read the reviews with everyone recommending the pastrami and all I got was a rubbery (microwaved) pastrami. This is the second time I've been here and it definitely hasn't impressed me. Definitely on my Do Not Eat (DNE) list.
(1)Chuy F.
Straight to the point. If you don't call in advance, the wait can be long. They only have two people working there. CASH ONLY! The food is really good.
(5)Dennis Y.
You'd be wise to listen to everyone else's comments about Sandwich Plus - always call ahead and always bring cash, and you'll be rewarded with great service and a most glorious sandwich. The place is busy @ lunch but you go a few times and you'll notice two things: 1) most people at Sandwich Plus are repeat customers and 2) Nancy (the friendly co-owner) knows all of them by name. (She also knows me by my phone number - she can actually recognize my number when it comes up on her caller ID.) Random fact - I introduced my fiance to Nancy before I had her meet my parents. (Sorry Mom, but you should've made me better sandwiches.) Their sandwiches also stand out against every other sandwich in the area. Bread - delicious. Avocado - so much. My greatest joy in life comes from eating the #19 (roast beef & avocado) and scooping back up all the excess avocado that falls out in eager anticipation of the next bite. (I guess that would make my fiance my second greatest joy in life - she would probably be offended, except that the feeling is probably mutual.) I've heard they also serve salads here. But I do not care for such things.
(5)Martha D.
Took Hubby to lunch in Irvine at Sandwich Plus after reading reviews. This is a little gem for a quick lunch! Huge variety of sandwiches and a great deal on lunch specials (several sandwich choices, chips and drink for $6.25). What makes a good sandwich? Absolutely fresh ingredients and plenty of them on great breads! Counter lady is very nice, remembers customer's names and even asked me if I needed a bag to take home my half sandwich (couldn't eat the whole thing!) The sandwich was great the next day - even the lettuce was still extra crispy. Bring cash and enjoy a wonderful sandwich!
(5)Steve G.
Pretty darn good HOT pastrami sandwich!
(4)Jen T.
For those who know me really, really well here which is probably max 4 people...I adore sandwiches. TURKEY SANDWICHES to be specific. "You know you can make it at home!!!"- Mama T. (Dont tell her, but yes, I agree with her 110% but I cant help it.) I come here when I have work and it is best to call in before because the couple might take awhile. They are always always busy around lunch time! Anyways, I normally get their turkey & cheese or their turkey & avocado! Both are amazing, fresh, and delicious and any POSITIVE adjective you can think of! OH! They offer squaw bread!!! I feel like this is the only sandwich place close by that offers squaw bread other than Rutabegorez. Honestly, I feel like I love this place so much because it reminds me of rutabegorez and its chicken walnut sandwich on sqquuaaaw bread! Okay, Im done. Sandwiches are very simple and satisfying! Prices are around $5-6ish. They toast your sandwiches too, just let them know ahead of time! Enjoy! :)
(4)Joa K.
A quaint, fairly quiet sandwich shop in a business complex. An Asian couple (I think I heard some Korean?) owns and runs the shop. The woman who takes the orders has a friendly yet boisterous voice. It's surprisingly welcoming...I kinda had fun hearing her take phone orders and call out names...haha. She sorta reminds me of my mom....I wonder if she sings....? Aaanyway, the sandwiches are rather large here. If you have a big appetite, I think you may enjoy the generous portions that Sandwich Plus offers. The actual taste or flavor of their sandwiches are pretty average. It's homestyle....except you don't have to make it and most menu items are about $6. Not a bad deal. If you have a smaller appetite, I might ask for your order to go and just eat half - take the other half home or share. I'm stuffed to the brim and I only finished 2/3 of my sandwich plus some chips. I got the lunch special #1 (see pics) with no mayo and tried a bite of the chicken salad sandwich. The sandwiches were very filling and good enough to order again. Though, I think I might prefer their hot sandwiches over their cold deli ones from what I saw.... The folks that come here seem like regulars. Their names are known and they collectively laughed out loud when a weird ad about menopause played (kind of loudly) on the radio. Haha...it was kinda awkward....but yes, I LOL'd too. I'm pretty impressed at how fresh the food is and how friendly the people are for such an unassuming, unknown, and low-key deli. I would like to go back to try their other menu items!
(4)Angie D.
My coworkers and I recently discovered this place and it's our new go-to place for sandwiches! It's fresh, delicious, sandwiches are huge, and prices are real cheap (and already include tax!) Things I like: - fact that they have shredded lettuce - they don't skimp on the meats!
(5)M C.
Was hungry for a sandwich and after searching yelp, found that Sandwich Plus wasn't too far away, and, seemed to have great reviews. Went for a late lunch (230pm) and when I got there, the owner welcomed me with "HEY!" She was jovial, very polite, and I thought "HEY BACK!" Ordered The Works and WOW, what a sandwich! With all of the extra lettuce, pickles, onions that fell out of the sandwich, I had a nice little salad after eating the main portion. Meat was sliced fresh on the slicer, cheese as well. Everything was fresh on sourdough and oh so good! Despite being a "cash only" joint, it is the best sandwich shop in my area by far! You have a new client and can't wait to go back!
(5)Adam H.
I think my son is happy about his sandwich today and he agrees you make the best sandwich , subway and Togo's could learn a lot from your sandwich shop ! Thanks for being the best ! I will be in for another sandwich soon .
(5)Sue B.
I recently started working in the area, and today was craving an egg salad sandwich with avocado, on squaw so popped on here to see where would be a good place to go. Sandwich Plus is just around the corner and based on it's reviews I decided to check it out for lunch. And boy, am I glad I did! I called my order in, and when I got there it was ready and waiting for me. The owner was very friendly and welcoming, and I guess she gets a lot of regulars as she had a ready smile and welcomed people by name. The sandwich was fantastic, better than my old favourite sandwich place in HB and cheaper. I will definitely be back to sample more of the delights on offer!
(5)Daniel S.
The sandwiches here are great for the price and very big portions too. Nice little mom n pop sandwich shop. We typically order in advance because the wait can be long and there isn't much room to eat it there, but it's easily a good choice for a good lunch.
(4)Dinah T.
Nancy is awesome with the orders. She's very personable. I always preorder on the phone to pick up during the work week and she will actually remember my name and sometimes the sound of my voice. Everything I have tried there is fresh and delicious. Huge portion for cheap price. Make sure to bring cash though!
(5)Doc C.
I've been coming to this place for years. It's a place I can count on for its quality and consistency. I highly recommend having the avocado on your sandwich with squaw bread.
(5)Stephen L.
Hidden gem in Irvine. Sandwich Plus is a small place run by a husband and wife. Great sandwiches and great salads. This place is an avocado lovers dream! The avocados are always perfect. The ingredients are always fresh. My favorites are the #20 (avocado, roast beef, turkey & ham on whole wheat) or the #35 (tuna & avocado salad). A few tips: +This place is cash only. +If you're in a hurry, call in your order. +During the warmer months, salads sell out quick, so call in early.
(5)Mrs N.
Had the turkey & avocado on sourdough. It was good but not much better than what I could make at home. Service was friendly & fast, and the place was clean.
(3)April H.
great sandwichs at great prices, good fast service!!
(5)Crystal C.
So simple and sooo yummy! And healthy! And cheap! Isn't that really all you expect from a quick meal? It looks like it's a family-owned place by an Asian couple. They're super nice and from what I've seen the wife actually remembers people by names. That's excellent service right there. It takes them a little bit longer that I'd like for them to make my sandwich, but I can't really argue with them because there's only one person making sandwiches, and one person taking orders. The sandwiches are HUMONGO! Out of the two times that I've had them, I've only been able to finish half.. both times. It's really like you're getting 2 sandwiches for the price of 1. $6.25 for a regular ham & cheese sandwich, bag of chips, and drink. Great place to go for a quick meal if you work around the area!
(5)Jeremy L.
Came here for the first time after starting a new job at my old company. I can't believe I never tried this place despite having worked just down the street back then. I don't even recall it being around, but the owner mentioned they've been around for 15~ years now. I got the turkey avocado and it was really satisfying. Funny thing is, I used to eat at the Subway [opposite direction] frequently when I was working around here before. For the price, I'll give my business to Sandwich Plus. The $5~ that can get me a Subway footlong got me a much better and more filling sandwich at Sandwich Plus! Sandwich Plus FTW!
(5)Kelly T.
It's hard to find a small sandwich shop near so many corporate businesses but this was worth the wait. After chastising my coworkers for going to Subway without being able to offer an alternative I went here to try it out . . . and came back 3 times that week. They serve soup, salad, and sandwiches as well as packaged chips and drinks ranging $4-6 for a filling sandwich where they *don't* skimp on the fillings you chose. There is even a menu section just for avocado. The wait tends to lie around 15 minutes minimum so calling in before you leave is a good idea.
(5)Aaron Y.
This place is tucked away in the business district near Spectrum. Not as easy to find as I would have liked, but I came by at 12 on a work day and it was pretty empty. I called in my order (#3) and came to pick it up 5 minutes later. It was less than $5 for a good sized sandwich that had lots of meat and whichever veggies I wanted in it. I'll probably be back for the simple fact that it is cheaper than Subway, yet the quality is better! Score!
(4)Sandy V.
Called and placed my order over the phone. The lady was kind of loud over the phone but when I meet her 5 mins later she was supper nice but was busy. The sandwich was YUMMMY. I had the #1 lunch combo on Squa. The squa was very very good. Im excited to try other things on the menu. I walked out for around $6.40. Small drink, full sandwich, and a small bag of chips. Oh there are free pickles and condiments on the other side of the soda machine.
(4)Shantelle T.
This hidden spot is a total gem. It's not that great for dining in because there isn't much outdoor seating but the sandwiches are VERY fresh and the husband and wife staff is very friendly. I had the Egg Salad sandwich with bacon and it was so delicious and filling. My coworker had #22 Turkey, Bacon and Avocado and that was even better! They don't skimp on the fresh/awesome ingredients either. I give it 2 thumbs up. You might want to call ahead though and take the sandwiches carry-out style.
(4)dean B.
Fantastic tuna and avocado sub! Freshly made with abundant quantities of both the tuna and the avocado. Another of the nice family restaurants in the area.
(5)Duc B.
I wish I could find more places like this. A place that cares about their product. A place that delivers their product with great customer service. It's true, this is just a sandwich place in the middle of a business district. So why do they deserve 5 stars? Because they don't fuck it up. They don't add any gimmicky breads with European-sounding names. They don't add "artisan" this "artisan" that. They don't stick basil in their butter and charge you $100 for it. Aren't you sick of all the phoney baloney that's out there? Sandwich Plus just makes plain old sandwiches. But they make them right. The lettuce is crispy. The tomatoes are ripe. The bread is fresh. It's a real pleasure to bite into one their sandwiches. Sandwiches that taste the way sandwiches should taste. They are the epitome of KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid). I've eaten 3 different sandwiches here in the last 3 days. They're just that good. The husband and wife team (not confirmed) have a very welcoming attitude. The wife made small talk with me while I waited. When I left with my food, the husband peeked his head out from the back and sent me on my way with a hearty goodbye. It's little gestures like these that really separates good service from great service. This kind of personable interaction is something you might only find in a small town somewhere. And judging by the number of regulars that come here, this might as well be a small town in itself. Are you in the neighborhood? Are you craving a sandwich? There's a place called Sandwich Plus you should check out.
(5)Andrew L.
Lunch = Great food at a great price. It's in the middle of nowhere, in terms of location to other food places, but that doesn't mean the food there is poor, it's actually amazing. The location isn't that big, but it does draw in the crowds. When I come down to the Irvine office, it's always on my mind when it comes to food. I also blame my coworkers for recommending it, specifically a Ning W. So what do I get, I like the Tuna Avocado. They load it up with tons of tuna and generous pieces of Avocado, in a good bread. They do have lots of choices, including a cheese steak, which I have to try at some point. Ultimately, if you work anywhere near this place, it should be a regular stop, call in, gets you your food faster, the owners are really nice and treat you wonderfully, even remembering your name. It's a personal touch, which you don't get much anymore.
(4)Jeff L.
Sandwich Plus is sandwiched in between a business park and is somewhat difficult to spot as you drive by but is worth the stop. The portions are huge and after finishing a large sandwich I doubt I'll be eating dinner tonight. The meat was tasty, veggies fresh and the bread incredibly soft. Only reason for the 4 instead of 5 star review was due to the no credit card policy. I never carry cash and having to go to the ATM prior was a hassle. It's 2011 and we're nearing the point of using cell phones to pay for items directly so not to accept the credit card is a negative. Other than the no credit card policy Sandwich Plus is fantastic and well worth the trek over if you're in the Irvine Spectrum area and looking for an alternative from Subway and Quiznos.
(4)Alex P.
Pros - Sandwiches are very generous in portion with lots of fresh veggies and good quality deli meat. I always opt for the turkey with bacon and avocado. It's delicious. Con - I usually only eat here if I have to work through lunch. Can't really blame that on them though. If you're in the area, skip the Subway down the street and grab a sandwich from here instead. It's worlds better.
(4)TJ C.
This little place is good. Great sando's, good pricing, nice owners. If ur in the area it's worth it. Pastrami was ono. Lunch specials work too.
(4)Robert L.
I came here on a recommendation, and the 4 1/2 stars on yelp didn't hurt either. My turkey sandwich on a french roll however, was quite plain. It was as if I bought some packaged ingredients at the supermarket and made my own boring sandwich. The bread was not fresh and had the texture of bread that had been in a plastic bag for a long time. The meat tasted like pre-packaged deli meat from Oscar Meyer or something -- cold, bland, and with a bologna-like texture. The lettuce and tomato were fresh and not bad, but that's hard to get right. Prices are not bad and the sandwich as a whole is super normal, so if that's what you like go for it. However, If I go out for a sandwich, I want something that I can't easily make at home, like a fresh baked baguette or dutch crunch roll, quality flavorful meat, fresh vegetables, and awesome sauces like a garlic pesto aioli.
(2)Brad S.
#17 is always a great sandwich. Nancy rocks and you cant beat her customer service.
(5)Julie L.
I've only tried one item here, the #13 - The Real Vegetarian on squaw bread. It's pretty good, I always skip the mayo and olives and add mustard instead. The portions is crazy. For the regular size, the sandwich is huge. This thing is really stacked with the veggies and it tastes fresh. I recommend eating it pretty quickly after ordering because the bread can get soggy. The other sandwiches look amazing as well, I can't wait to try some of the other ones, the pictures all look amazing.
(4)C C.
This is my favorite lunch spot. I've been coming here for about 6 years and usually stick to my same Veggie Sandwich since I don't eat meat. The sandwich is full of cucumber, tomato, lettuce, avocado, mushrooms, olives, sprouts and cheese. It's delicious and cheaper than Subway. I've had their salads too and those are always fresh. This place only takes cash so be prepared. They take phone orders which I would recommend doing if you are on a tight schedule - especially if you are ordering a salad. This is a true Mom and Pop shop and the Mom runs the register, takes the phone orders and makes the salads. My boyfriend usually gets the roast beef and avocado on a wheat roll and he loves it. Oh and if you want you bread toasted, make sure to ask!
(5)H N.
I get there #2 special. very good, and tasty. everything taste fresh, which i like. For some reason, the sandwiches are made to perfection. I dunno what they put in there... but it keeps calling me back for more. Nancy is fantastic at taking your orders. She remembers your name and what you like. She truly is amazing. Great prices, very clean and no b.s. Go Sandwich Plus!
(4)Jonathan K.
All the reviews have so far have been accurate with this place, and I'm so thankful for that. I decided to explore for a new place to eat around where I work, and this place shows up. I saw, "HIDDEN", "FRIENDLY SERVICE" and "GOOD SANDWICHES", and I was sold. I found it fairly easy because of all the other reviews, but it can definitely be hard to find. I went in and was greeted by the owner, who was very lively and eager to know me as a customer. I already know that she'll recognize me the next time I go there (which I definitely will soon). I tried the turkey, bacon, avocado sandwich on squaw. They definitely don't skimp out on the ingredients. I mean, it's not freaky big, but it's a size where you are satisfied with what you get. The only thing I would do different next time is to ask them to toast my bread because by the end, the bread just turned into mush. It wasn't too packed with people, and I found a nice little corner to sit and eat. The whole time I was there, there was customer after customer where the owner knew them on a first name basis. Finally, an authentic "mom & pop" joint in Irvine. I can't wait to try the rest of their sandwiches.
(4)James N.
My Coworker brings me to this hidden gem sandwich place and I've been eating sandwich there for the past three days now. They have lots of selection to choose from and the price is cheap and the portion is big. i defininately recommend to all my friends and fam.
(5)Kevin V.
i come here 2 to 3 time a month. its a very good sandwich shop.
(3)Christina R.
This is by far the best sandwich place around. It's in the middle of a commercial site so they have corporate hours. 730am-3pm Monday-Friday. Service is great, owners are nice, they get to know you. It can get crowded during peak hours 12-2pm. It's better to call your order in first. They also service breakfast. Bagels, Croissants, breakfast sandwiches ranging from $1.00-$2.75. It's better than stopping at a McDonalds for breakfast. They only accept cash or personal check, no debit/credit cards.
(5)Sarah Q.
Delicious and fresh sandwiches. Great, friendly service. CASH ONLY Fyi. A hidden gem that never disappoints!
(5)Crystal S.
Thanks to Yelp I found this place - has been on the other end of Technology from us for 10 years -- who knew?! Tasty, fresh sandwiches - tried a few so far and all have been good - especially the triple deckers. The salads are GREAT - todays $6 got me chicken salad, romaine, celery, broccoli, carrots, hard boiled egg, black olives, cucumber, sprouts, tomatoes - and I might be forgetting something there was so much stuff on here. Nancy is the owner - she knows you after you've only been there once or twice - already recognizes my phone number when I call in for a pickup and this is only my 6th visit (in 6 weeks). Gets busy at lunch time most weekdays so call order in a few minutes ahead. Only open Mon-Fri and doesn't take credit cards.
(5)David Y.
This place is AWESOME (allusion to "I love you, man")!!! I didn't even LIKE sandwiches much until I ate at this place. And the sandwiches I used to get would be hot subs (e.g. Pastrami, cheesesteak, etc). If you like pastrami, you'll LOVE~ theirs, especially with avacados~ mmm, I love avacados~~~ I tried their turkey sandwich too, and it is OFF THE HOOK! I can't believe that I actually like a healthy cold sandwich! I'm your typical "I am man, give me meat" type of guy. But this place has changed me for the better. It's turned many people in my office into believers =) MAKE SURE TO CALL AHEAD during lunch hours (11:30-1)! They're super busy and are run by only 2 people. Can't stress this enough ... CALL AHEAD! - Cash and Check only. Recommendations: Turkey Sandwich Combo on Wheat. Or Meatball Sandwich (for those days you need something heavy to drown the stress. =) Scott M. is right about the breakfast. Crazy good, and simply delicious ham, cheese, egg crossant (I like to substitute turkey instead).
(5)Hoang T.
Honestly, this place isn't overly amazing or even above average so that's why I'm giving it the 3 stars. The menu is rather large and you can have the healthy alternatives but that just means there's more lettuce and sprouts. Taste-wise, there really is nothing that sets it apart from say a sandwich from specialties.
(3)Jeff W.
Been here several times and the food and service is always great. Usually have the tuna on toasted wheat and has never been anything but excellent. Had the special also and always great. Hope this place stays in business a long time because I can't believe people still go to subway and quiznos when this place is far superior in both quality and quantity.
(5)Patrick S.
I don't get it...just like a sandwich you would make at home, but for some reason, it tastes awesome. I ordered the #17 turkey and avocado with everything on squaw. Simple turkey, tomato, mustard, mayo, shredded iceberg lettuce, onions, and pickles. Nothing out of the ordinary or extraordinarily good in and of itself, but it hit the spot and did so in a much better way than some mega-sandwich chain. Now that I know where it is, I will be back to try other sandwiches.
(4)Jim T.
Even though this is in an industrial park, and it is small, and it is just a sandwich shop, they make the best turkey & cheese sandwich I have had, bar my Mother's home-made turkey sandwiches. I got it on French roll, (fresh bread), the turkey is moist, piled thick, and not salty. Shredded lettuce, tomato, red onions for just $4.15. If you order a luncheon special it comes to $5.75 with a bottom-less drink and bag of chips. I had never had "BAKED CHEETOS" before. 50% of the fat of regular Cheetos. I checked the Weight Watcher's web-page and it's true. Also, they have a container filled with dill pickle spears, sliced jalapenos, and what looked like relish. This is a great bargain. The woman who runs the place with someone who looks like her husband is on a first-name basis with her clientile. Most of them are walk-ins who work in the surrounding offices. WARNING: No ATM or credit cards. CASH ONLY! My wife and son had the French Beef dip with a cup of Au Jous. It was wonderful too. This is perhaps the "greatest sandwich in town." Sorry Subway and Tummy Stuffers.

For us soul-less office creatures spending1/3 of our miserable lives chained to cubicles in the drab conformity of Irvine, Sandwich Plus is a pinprick of light beaming down onto our hollow husks of humanity. You can take a nice stroll on down to the shop and be greeted by a couple friendly and chipper asians behind the counter. They have good, simple, fresh cold cut sandwiches at a decent rate. You can eat it every day and it hits the spot, and it wont kill you or make you completely repulsive to the opposite sex (or same sex, if thats your thing).

This place rules! Their sandwiches are delicious and portions are perfect for lunch time. What more can I say?

Quick Great Service. Delicious sandwiches at a great price. Definitely worth trying, definitely worth going back.

I ordered the turkey avocado sandwich which was very fresh, my favorite ingredient had to be the avocado. It's a big sandwich for the money, a good deal! My wife also got the turkey avocado and could Only eat half!

Small mom n pop in the corporate plaza towards the end of Techology. Great find if you work around the area or live around the area! I had the #2 italian on squaw. How often do you find a sandwich with more meat than bread?! Really, really good sandwich, prices, and service. Owner is fantastic, and even knows all the regulars by name! On top of that, she's a big USC (fight on!!) fan which I loved. I'll be back, and can't wait to try other sandwiches.

Coworker turned us on to this place. Great salads and sandwiches! Always fresh. Lady at the counter is so awesome. Always remembers who you are and sometimes even your orders. Knew me by name on my second time there. Good prices but be prepared, its cash only so plan ahead.

This place is a winner. You get a super fresh sandwich or salad, low price, friendly service, etc. My favorite is the #40 salad with egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad, tons of veggies, etc. It's massive and only $6.50! Try it.

I love coming here. If you remember the TV show Cheers, it has the same type of atmosphere where "everybody knows your name." Nancy, the owner, works the front counter and has an incredible memory. She remembers your name what you like to eat and anything else you wish to share. Her husband makes the food fresh to order. It's always tasty and very reasonable. I drive out of my way to go to this sandwich shop versus the one that's within walking distance of my office.

Been going to Sandwich Plus for a couple years now as I work in the area and its an Outstanding little establishment that makes great sandwiches at an excellent value. Ingredients are always fresh and service is outstanding!!! Nancy and her husband genuinely make you feel welcome and remember your order when your a repeat customer, which not too many establishments do. Definitely give them a try!!!

A little mom and pop sandwich shop. The couple that run it are super friendly and the wife has an incredible memory. Sometimes I'll go a month or two without stopping by and she'll still remember my order. All the sandwiches are really good and they use high quality ingredients. The salads are huge and very fresh. The prices are around $6 dollars. Just remember it's cash only there

WOW! Incredible place. Super small and hole in the wall. Cash only. I couldn't believe that I could find a MOM and POP place in Irvine but we did! My husband found it by chance and we went together for lunch. I had a turkey and cheese sandwich on french bread. It may sound boring but I haven't had a turkey and cheese sandwich this good in 7 years! It compares to the little shop we went to back in Oregon. My husband got the works and he loved it. The large size, she cut into 4 pieces, fed my husband, 1/4 went to our 3 year old, and there is still 1/4 left. I had the regular size which is about half the size of the large. We will go back to this place over, and over, and over, and over... Oh, and it's a good idea to call in your order. They were taking lots of phone orders and the wait was about 20 minutes. We went around 12:30-1:00 for reference.

I found this place on Yelp and saw they had great reviews for their sandwiches but I got their chicken and avocado salad for $6.50 and it was one of the best, freshest salads I've ever had and this would've cost double the price in a more upscale restaurant. I'll try their sandwiche next time but if anyone's in a mood for a fantastic salad at an incredibly reasonable price, come give this place a shot. The food and price warrant 5 stars but I took 1 star away because it took almost 15 minutes to get served despite it not being too busy. If I could take just 1/2 a star away I would. Last point, the place is run by an older Asian couple who seem very sweet (especially the woman).

I was introduced by a classmate of mine and this place is for sure my designated sandwich location. Great sandwiches and very friendly husband and wife. I would definitely suggest this place!

First off, my sandwich tasted very good. I went during the normal lunch hour on a weekday and it was busy. I chose to dine in and it seemed like I was given less priority compared to those who chose to carry out as they seemed to receive their sandwiches before I did, even though they came in after me. I do, now, recall her asking me if I was OK waiting, but I didn't know what that meant. The woman (wife?) took my order behind the counter and the man (husband?) made the sandwiches, one at a time. That was the entire staff. That also meant that my table inside wasn't cleaned between guests, at least not during the busy rush hour at lunch so I dusted off the crumbs of the last person myself. The pastrami I had was microwaved and I saw they microwaved the bacon for sandwiches too. If I'm back in the area I'd try it again but would choose something different & fresher and take it to-go. And, you honestly can't beat the price now-a-days for a decent, filling lunch option.

Alright, this is my 3rd time at this place and they have earned that 5th star. Their customer service is top notch (Nancy not only remembered me but remembered my order and knew this was my 3rd time!). However, their sandwiches are just epic. Their large should be renamed to ridiculously large, in a good way. Like I said before, this is not the place where they slice their meat deli style. Instead, it's almost as though they give you slabs of meat. Last time I came here I ordered the same thing I ordered today - a large turkey, bacon and avocado. They do not skimp on anything. Man, I'm a full fool... but a happy fool at that.

AHHH I am sooo happy I found this place. I found this place out through a coworker of mine and she recommended coming here. So I decided to give it a try. Its a cute little sandwich shop owned by two cute & friendly owners. I recommend calling in your order and picking up if you are on a quick lunch from work. I've been here twice already since I was introduced to the place. I typically call in 15 mins early then when I get there, it's ready to go! They get pretty busy during lunch hours and because theres only two people working..it could be a wait. Their sandwiches are HUGE!! I love myself a good deli sandwich.. and this my friends.. is GOOD! I tried Squaw bread for the first time.. and am addicted ever since. I've never even heard of squaw.. But its really good.. I want to try all of their sandwiches eventually! Their really big so sharing would be no problem!

Nancy and her husband are so nice. Plus, their sandwhiches are top notch! If you go there enough times, Nancy even remembers what you like/dislike on your sandwich. Every sandwich is made fresh, that it may take 10 or more minutes, so do yourself a favor and call ahead.

Common themes here: friendly service, fresh ingredients, excellent value. This is a great place for lunch. I've never been disappointed. By the way, if you have to wait for your order (and remember everything is made to your order) it may be that there are phone orders ahead of you. A lot of people in the area call their orders in. The regulars know this and figure it's well worth the wait. This place is a gem.

Cash only! Delicious place! It's really hidden in a plaza that looks like private offices, they could use a sign. Mom and pop shop. There are so many choices of sandwiches about 30+ choices and they are all reasonably priced and they are big sized sandwiches too. I got the all American for $5.00 and the quality of the meats was delicious! The only reason I give this place 3 stars, and could have easily gotten 5, is that I found a hair in my sandwich. Really painful to write because I really like this place, but the workers just need to watch out for this. I would give this place another shot though.
