We've ordered from Raul's for our company meetings about 3 times now and everything has been amazing! Joanna, catering manager, is so great to work with! She delivers the food hot and ready every single time. The food is DELICIOUS. Our favorite dishes would be the enchiladas and flautas. If you are looking to order for a company meeting I would definitely recommend Rauls! Great service and great food. Can't beat that!

So this is wonderful food served with a smile. Yes, friendly service makes a difference. This place is located in a tired old building but the inside is clean and comfortable. Parking is very limited so it's best to park on the street where you shouldn't have any problem. The food is consistently good here. I'd like to see the rice a little more tender with a boost in flavor. The refried beans are good and even better with melted cheese on top. The enchiladas are very tasty and a lot of that comes from the sauce they use which is really delicious. If you're a fan of salsa you'll enjoy their offering. Rounding out the other choices I've made, the tacos are OK and the burritos are large and in charge (oh, I know that makes you wince). You're two major blocks from the 405 when you need to make your getaway.

I ate here once as a kid, before going to the dentist or doctor. I was around 8 yrs old, so I just remember sitting at the counter and eating a taco. My mom took me and didn't order anything for herself. It was pretty good, but I never seemed to go back until 2 months ago. The same family owns it and the food was good. I ordered chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. The server is the daughter of the owner and was also quite attractive, lol. You can tell when somebody is the owner, because of their knowledge and how much they care about the guests. I drive by quite often, so I will start eating there more often.

Old school restaurant since 1972. I went for dinner and ordered the popular Supreme Burrito and requested the hottest chili. It was hot alright and very delicious, next time I will ask for the chili on the side. The service is fast and friendly and they seem to get plenty of regulars flowing through here. I also ordered to go a plate of chicken taquitos which comes with beans and rice, shredded beef taco, and an horchata for a coworker. He loved the taco and horchata, he said it reminded him of his mothers cooking.

Love this place! Lots of memories here. Been coming here since I can remember and I'm 36 years old! I now bring my kids and husband here any chance we get we live close to Orange County now but still still come down to Raul's

Being temporarily unable to drive due to illness and bothered by aggressive withdrawals for a good Mexican meal (while knowing our favorite place doesn't deliver), we turned to yelp and for the first time chose a restaurant based on 1) yelp ratings and 2) if they deliver. Yelpers! You did not let us down and we have found a new regular Mexican place! We prefer our food authentic and are super picky as a family but this place hit the spot presenting favorites (chicken tacos, carnitas and quesadillas) just the way we hoped they'd taste and delivering a salsa with new levels of flavors. We look forward to actually visiting the restaurant once I am driving again!

Service was great! The complimentary salsa and chips were fresh and yummy. My nacho came with flavorless shredded boiled chicken which was pretty disappointing. They need to work on the menu which was a piece of regular printer paper with illegible words.

Sorry I'm done. Last 2 visits my order for guacamole resulted in a small bowl of mashed avocado. No lime. No cilantro. No salt. No tomato. No onion. Just avocado. If the kitchen doesn't care why should I? Shame, because the owners are good people.

Awesome salsa, and the carnitas are to die for; For lunch I either split the burrito supreme with a coworker or get 2 tacos and make 3-4 out of it as they overload it with meat. Great service as well

Just moved to Hawthorne, wanted to try a local Mexican spot that served margaritas. We get there to find their liquor license had expired. Forgot to ask when they were planning to get an updated one. Didn't get my margarita ...still on the hunt for a good margarita at a Mexican restaurant in Hawthorne.

Rauls is the best Mexican spot I go to around my area they're food is bombacious the salsa is on point n the service is flawless. Actually waiting for them to open to go eat there today

This is my first review. I always use yelp to find restaurants as I travel around the U.S. This place was well worth my first review. Homemade salsa - amazing! Homemade horchata - delicious Tacos al gobernador - wow! So many textures and flavors with the sauce and how it's cooked. Mmmm Enchiladas, tamale, beans and rice were all good also but not stand outs for me. Not the nicest area and the restaurant is a little run down but who cares, go for some great Mexican food!

Pretty yummy food! My favorite thing to get here is the Supreme Burrito with shredded beef. The beef is always tender, lean, and flavorful, and Raul's is not stingy at all with the meat. In the burrito are beans, rice, lettuce, sour cream and guac and the burrito is smothered in red sauce and cheese. It's enormous! I've also had the Enchiladas Supreme with cheese which were decent, and the Albondigas Soup. The meatballs in the soup were pretty good, but the broth wasn't as rich or hearty as I was hoping for. It was a little on the thin side. The other night my BF ordered a shredded beef taco, but for $3, we found it to be on the small side, and soggy. I think we'll stick with the burritos because Raul's does that very well. The staff is quick, responsive, and always serves us with a smile.

The house salsa was spicy tonight just a little too much. The taco's have more lettuce and was bland. The taquito's were dry the chicken had no flavor....
Wish i could have tried the food. But they dont deliver less than a mile from their establishment....

We were staying near LAX and asked our navigation to take us to the nearest Mexican Restaurant and it took us here....not really close to LAX though. We were pleasantly surprised!! Salsa was on point and pretty spicy, too! All of us loved our food and the waitress was very attentive. Cool mural, too.

Been coming here for years as it has good food at a fair price. This time I had a combo #1 which is 1 taco (shredded beef) and 1 enchilada (cheese) with rice and beans for $8.xx. The service is good and seating is normally pretty good as well.

I have been going here for years...It still has the same menu..food is still good, but under the new ownership sometimes you have to wait a while for yiur meal..prices have jumped up a little.. Real good Tostadas...

I have been coming here for years. The food is terrific but the service has always been slow slow slow! Very friendly. I think the kitchen is too slow. It is difficult to make it back to work on time when we come here for lunch.

I love everything about this mom & pop cafe. It's family ran and the food is great!!!! Don't let the area or outside fool you---inside your taste buds will be pleased and stomach full!! They also cater. I've had them make special items for events I've thrown--always a success. Today is Super Bowl Sunday and I just picked up my order. Let the game and good party begin. THANKS RAUL'S!!!!

I ordered the #9 2 enchilada plate (shredded chicken & beef) with rice and beans. It was absolutely delicious! I seriously have no complaints, it was a decent amount of food for $9.99.
This review is strictly for and about the huevos rancheros. I live in Lawndale and have been to at least ten Mexican restaurants around the area. I am a big fan of huevos rancheros, it is a breakfast specialty. And here at Raul's they make it FABULOUS. The rice is on another level, and is served with a dab of slightly sweet sauce on top. The refried beans are superb. The eggs are prepared perfectly with a hard shell on the bottom, topped with some cheese and served with more sauce. I get it with flour tortillas, some shredded lettuce on the side if you want it. Absolutely amazing. Cannot stress it enough. My friend came with me once and got the chilaquiles, and she said they were very good, although she likes them better with egg or chicken in them. I've only been here once for anything other than breakfast. I can't even remember what I got. But I can tell you that the huevos rancheros is top tier status.

Extremely friendly staff. Two kids and the grandparents were catered to in a sincerely friendly way. I had the gigantic bowl of pasole and it was wonderful. It's nice to break out of the South Bay bubble. Worth a try. I'll be back.

Go here at least once a week for lunch. Carnitas and chile verde are bomb. Everything else is good but these two are my favorite. $6.95 lunch special bean and rice with plentiful serving plus drink. You can't beat that. Great food and price

These are the burritos dreams are made of. They are home style and humongous! I don't know about you, but for me, a sign of a good Mexican food restaurant are dishes on the menu that are not chock of cheese and lettuce. It's filler getting in the way of the beans and meat. I ordered an original burrito lunch special; carne asada, wet and no cheese. It was a huge amount of food for $7.50. And a special thanks to the waiter/owner who served seven fussy women at lunchtime with speed and accuracy.

This place is great, at first glance you might not think so but trust me the food is delicious! first time I tried a chicken quesadilla and it was great the second time I tried there bacon wrapped shrimp also great (side dishes also good). The service is nice we had a very friendly waitress named Stephanie she was friendly funny and fast. Also the 2 salsas they give with the chips are very good just the right amount of spicy. Ill definitely go back!

Delicious , delicious , delicious !! I've been going to this restaurant for the past couple of years. They hardly ever fail my cravings for REALLY good fish tacos and humongous wet burritos :) Although the food takes a while to get prepared ...it's well worth the wait. They give a complimented plate of freshly fried tortilla chips and very good salsa while you wait. Also, though I don't drink, I've noticed that they carry a wide array of alcohol that is sold at a very cheap price !-Noor

Decent mexican. Flautas were pretty good. Good horchata. Slow service even with the restaurant empty. Love the mexican pizza with carnitas.

The Horchata is the best I've found. The carnitas is really good too. The chips and salsa are on point.

Awesome place , a Mexican knows good Mexican food and I can say this is good food ! I've been coming here for years , the only bad thing is that I've seen all their prices go up slowly, especially on my favorite wet supreme burrito !! Thumbs down ! They used to have it on lunch specials like happy hour kind of but they took that away ! 4 stars for that reason

Visited Raul's for dinner, they have the best beef burrito supreme. Will be back to try something else soon.

Used to go to Raul's for lunch until I changed job locations. Went for dinner the other night with my daughter. I remembered immediately why I love this place. The food is great and we loved the chips & salsa. My favorite that I used to get at lunch was the Mexican Pizza. This time I had tacos...love the carnitas!!! Since I didn't get my yummy Mexican Pizza I have an excuse to go back. My daughter and I decided that when we get our hair done we will go there for dinner since it's close by. I couldn't even remember the name but they sure knew which one I was looking for at the salon!! So happy we went there...they even deliver now but have a very small delivery area.....I wish they would deliver to me as I'm only about 3-4 miles away but they won't. Decor not the greatest but don't let that fool you...delicious food!!

Food is good, BUT 7 dollars for a bean tostada? 11 dollars for 2 enchilada plate? This place is over priced.

I will never stop coming here. If I win the lottery, I'll give them money to finish any renovations or updates. Seriously. Last night I was hungry, but couldn't figure out what I wanted. Ready, set, default. Raul's it was. Chile con Carne (Chile Colorado to most) was the choice of the night. I ventured from my usual and it was well worth it. You know it's a big deal when a couple of the sisters that were working look at me as if I'd gone crazy and say "you're not getting the burrito?!" I've have good Chile con Carne, I've have BAD Chile con Carne. This is was awesome. A perfect portion of tender, don't need teeth to chew meat, delectable sauce, rice, beans and a huge scoop of guacamole. This also came with a salad or soup.. I got soup for two reasons.. I was freezing and I LOVE ALBONDIGAS. worth it. I called in at about 8:30, with my fingers crossed they were still serving, and they were. Ordered my food and got there a few minutes later. You know you've found a good spot when you walk in and hang out at their counter area talking to the family like you're related in some way. Go there already!

The best Mexican restaurant in the south bay. Period. My favorite restaurant since childhood. All food is good and staff is awesome and prices are good. Always get the two taco combo plate. I miss the crushed ice though. GO and EAT there!! :)

This place has decent food and probably would have given it a 3 star but it can't figure out whether they deliver or not. I got delivery once, the second time they were not delivering, the third time i was told i am outside the delivery area (2 miles away). Every time they try to get me to pick up which sounds like your classic bait and switch! Just say you don't deliver!!!

Been coming here for years and they around the block from us! Authentic Mexican food, large portions, great prices. Mind you the decor is old/worn but I come here for the FOOD people. Want fancy, go somewhere else.

Family run establishment. Love love love that they have chicken posole and that it's delicious. Big bowl of goodness on a cold night or if I'm under the weather. The complimentary chips and salsa are good too and I'm picky about chips (but who isn't). I always call to make sure since I usually go on my "lunch" and they're nice enough to get my order going so it's ready for me. Great service! The other dishes are good too but it's the posole that keeps me coming back.

After years of passing by this place I finally decided to stop by and give it a try. Their chicken pozole is excellent! Will definitely keep coming back for the hangover cures

Rauls - to this day, I'm still wondering what's so great about your Thursday carnitas special.. Rauls is a pretty decent option for seemingly traditional Mexican food. I've been here a handful of times and each time seemed to have its share of pros and cons. On a whole, you hope for a female server to attend to you, because the male servers seem to be very short with their patrons [not height, but the way they treat you]. Parking is always a crap shoot, as the parking lot is small for the number of patrons they can house. Good luck with street parking. The salsa that comes with the bottomless chips they serve has a good kick to it. Definitely a plus that the chips and salsa are bottomless. The food is served pretty quickly, but if you're coming here with a group, be sure to order ahead of time. During peak hours, even though the food service is fast, a full restaurant full of people certainly makes for slower serving time. The portions are all pretty big, especially the size of their super burritos. They have a decent lunch specials menu. I usually go with the one taco, one enchilada, rice and beans plate. Most items come to a $6-$10 total. The food is pretty tasty, but I've tried their 'famous carnitas' and I honestly don't see what's so special about it. But that doesn't stop me from coming to Rauls, as they have some other good offerings. I'm not always having a hankering for Mexican food, but Rauls is at the top of consideration when I need me some. All in all, pretty good food, moody and inconsistent service, crappy parking, and good chips and salsa. Things weigh out to a solid 3 star.

My family found this place a few years ago and have enjoyed it every single time we've come here. The food is outstanding and the people personable and kind. They treat you like friends who've come to visit. Everything I've tried has been delicious. I will always return to this place for affordable, good food. You won't regret trying this place, so hive it a chance and enjoy yourself.

I came during my lunch break with fellow Yelper, Andrew F. He wanted to have the carnitas special, so we came on a Thursday around 11:30am. The parking lot was full when we got there, but there is only about 7 spots to begin with. We parked on the street just a block down. The restaurant was busy, but we still got a table immediately. I ordered the super burrito for $6.50, I think. It was a giant burrito, served wet, with carne asada, guacamole, lettuce, sour cream, rice and beans. It was an okay burrito. It was only warm when I got it, so a third way through, it was cold. Also, it seemed like there was a lot of filler and not enough meat. Overall, an okay place, but I wouldn't go out of my way for the burrito. Maybe I'll try something else...

Raul's has delicious food, I especially love their tacos. We have come here many times, at all different times of the day, and never been disappointed. The servers are very friendly, and usually very attentive. I love to get the carnitas tacos, I usually order them with hard shell tortillas. At other places, I might get three or four tacos, but Raul's are so big I am usually stuffed after two. Their guac is also very good. I will keep coming back!
(5)

I haven't eaten there in years, no longer live in the state, but I am happy to know it is still there. I use to live about a mile from there and ate there all the time, never had a bad meal. And for the person that is going to El Tarasco's, well they also have great food but unless they have moved parking is a real pain in the rear.

Definitely going back to try more of the menu. We shared one of the HUGE burritos and a enchiladas verde dish. Very tasty, especially the house sauce on the burritos. In my very Mexican cuisine ignorant impression, it was kinda like Mex gravy. As this was after 8p on a Monday, the parking lot wasn't an issue but I could see how it could be. The single waitress on duty did a pretty good job covering the place.

Stumbled upon this place during one of my many drives between Hollywood and the LBC. Nice to find an authentic Mexican place open later than most I've tried. Like most Gringos, I had to order a burrito and proceeded to struggle to finish it. Good taste and tender meat helped me to sit there until I was finished. The staff is courteous and helpful and this is a place I will be visiting again.

I was craving Mexican food and went on Yelp to check out the reviews on local places. I was ecstatic when I found this place so close. It got better They DELIVER! My Burrito was excellent! Wet on the outside and fresh ingredients on the inside! Authentic food, tacos were crunchy not soggy! I will definitely order again! The delivery boy was cute and very sweet!

My husband and I discovered Raul's and we love the fact that they deliver. I had the best Veggie wet burrito the other night. It was the best. The combination plates are very good as well. I can't say anything negative about Raul's. When I call in our order, the people who answer the phone are friendly and we always have our food within 30 mins after ordering. It helps that we live only a couple of blocks away. Thank you Raul's!!!

tried their hard shell chicken taco and the mexican pizza. they get a half more star for simply *having* the hard shell tacos. these are hard to come by.... mexican pizza was good, but nothing too special. i'll be fine with taco h(b)ell's version. i'll go back and try other dish, but for now it can't beat gloria's cafe.

Favorite Lunch break stop :) They have really great burritos and the service is really fast if you need to get in and out of there. I recommed the burrito's or enchiladas.. Really anything there is good. The prices are very reasonable compared to all the other mexican restaurants in the area.

Shame on me!! I can not believe I've been a yelper for more than a year now and I have not written a review on this place!! This place is great!! I live in Hawthorne and this is by far one of my favorite Mexican restaurants! The chips and salsa are always a treat and I always end up eating 2 baskets! (shame on me again ) The food is very authentic, the taste reminds me of something my family would cook in the kitchen but even better! Not to mention their prices... it is extremely cheap! You can get a huge supreme burrito for 6 bucks. Not only is it big but its sooo good! I always get the super combo which comes with a enchilada , taco (shredded beef) and of course your rice and beans,,,, It is so damn good. The restaurant isn't too elegant , but its clean and cozy. The waitresses are always really nice. If you are ever in the area stop by you wont be disappointed,, Ps: The specials are daily before 3 pm.

I'm surprised I didn't write a review for this place sooner. I've been coming here since I was a kid. I clearly remember many family meals, sitting around Raul's tables, eating their chips & salsa, getting in arguments with my brother because I accidentally took a bite out of his burrito before I realized it wasn't mine. Since that time, I've been to TONS of Mexican food places and I still think this is my favorite. I know everyone has different tastes. And I'm sure others will swear that they've had better Mexican food than this. But as far as I'm concerned, this place tops all the Mexican food places I've been to. The decor hasn't changed one bit since I was young. In recent years, the staff is the only thing I've seen change. The food has always been delicious. The plates are burning hot when they come out. (Can't even tell you how many times I burned myself). I love the shredded beef tacos. Cheese enchiladas with side of spanish rice and refried beans with cheese on top. Their "Taco Fantastico" (Taco Salad) is also a treat. The burritos are HUGE! The place is a hole-in-the-wall. Nothing flashy, nothing fancy. I can't comment on its "authenticity" of the food since I'm not Mexican, but it sure knocks the socks off most Mexican restaurants I've been too. Great food & a local favorite!

Its pretty good. Had the delux combo which included a chille relleno and a enchilada with rice and beans. My boyfriend had the original burrito. Both were very tasty. Salsa was spicey and good and so were the tortilla chips. I will deffinetly be coming back!

This place looks sketchy but it is fantastic mexican food. They use better meats than most other places in the area and they are super friendly. And they deliver!! We ordered from here the other night for delivery and they got lost and were about 5 minutes late, so they gave us the food for free. It was ever so slightly cold, but still fantastic. Highly recommend the chile relleno and the carne asada tacos.

I live right around the corner from this homely mexican joint, but I've only been once. Don't know if I'll go back, but the food is pretty solid. The service was quick and the ladies there are really nice. In fact, I think I went to high school with one of them. She was cool, but I suspect that she might be the owner or something. Anyway, I totally recommend this place.

On Thursday mornings around 11am, Raul's starts to fill up with folks from the neighborhood and local businesses. Why?it's all due to their freshly made carnitas plates. I have to agree with other reviewers -- the carnitas have gotten drier since I first came here, but it's still a great deal. I can't say I've ever tried anything else (except the chips and salsa, which are pretty good), but have never been disappointed with my choice. Why three stars then? I guess I don't feel like I should give it more stars without having anything else there! The service can be somewhat spotty, but I think that might have more to do with the lunch-hour crowd than the waitstaff. At some point I'll have to try one of their other dishes....but then again, maybe not!

I have been eating at Raul's since I was a kid and even when I was in the Navy this would be a "must" stop when I was in town. The CHICKEN TACOS are the BEST! The service is friendly and fast and the prices can't be beat. I don't even live near this location but it is well worth the 30 minute drive to enjoy one of their giant wet burritos or anything else on the menu, its all great!

good clean environment. old school food. Low pressure from staff for lingering, talking for awhile guaranteed food coma after lunch!!! I always get the taco sorpreso chicken with extra beans. mmmm. daily albondigas is always a plus. the riff raff with 4 kids can get alittle too loud sitting right across from you. WARNING- do not park under the billboard sign/ the first 2 parking spots, as you will have 100 seagull poops on your car!!!!

Food is decent. I've had 2 lunch specials, the cheese enchiladas and the vegetarian burrito. The latter was take-out and I requested no sour cream. When I got there to pick it up the manager guy joked, "Extra sour cream, right?" and I chuckled and then requested an extra salsa, (their take-out salsa containers are about as big as a take out soy sauce.) He said, "That will be 25 cents each." and so, of course, I thought he was joking again! Like he did about the sour cream. But he was serious, so I got back to the office with a burrito about the size of my head, and a salsa sufficient for about 1/20th of the burrito and.........it had sour cream.

I've been going to Raul's for the past couple of years and love it there. Very authentic Mexican food for a great price. The portions are huge so I always have left overs. My favorites are the shredded beef tacos and beef burritos and their chips and salsa are great!

Good stuff!! Visited for the 1st time on a Thursday evening with the bf for dinner around 6:30pm. Quiet, not crowded. Casual environment. Comfortable booths for seating. Warm chips & SPICY salsa - they certainly didn't leave the kick out here - LOVED it!! Bf ordered a taco & chile relleno combo with rice & beans. The chile relleno in particular looked really good & he seemed to enjoy it. I was jealous I didn't order it but I kept it simple & ordered a cheese enchilada combo with rice & beans. Tasty enchilada sauce. Different than what I'm used to - there's a hint of something smokey & sweet in it that gives a wonderful flavor. Rice & beans were standard - nothing out of the ordinary but certainly nothing to complain about. All & all a very good meal at a Traditional Style Mexican Restaurant. Service was decent - no issues. For the boys out there, they have cute waitresses here & they're friendly...always a plus!! And they have daily Lunch & Dinner specials as well as a Happy Hour!!

Came here with friends and loved it. Tortilla chips were extra thick and crispy and couldn't get enough of them. The albondigas soup was very yummy, great meatballs! Carne Asada plate was very flavorful and so were the margaritas. guacamole was too spicy for me, but overall I left full and satisfied. Been here three times already and will come back if I'm in the mood for a local casual Mexican restaurant.

Gary F. and I had lunch here today. We hit this place up every couple of weeks. The lunch specials are great! This is one of the few Mexican restaurants that have menudo - whenever I want it! ... for some reason... I usually go to a mexican restaurant and the menudo is either non-existent (not on the menu) OR only made on Sundays... I dunno why... but that just seems to be the case. I love their menudo and albondigas soup here... The lunch special Supreme Burrito is pretty spot on as well... I usually get it with ground beef, and dry (no melted cheese and sauce poured over it). For $5.95 - you can't beat it... The place is decent sized, it can probably fit 40 - 50 people, BUT - the parking lot can only fit about 10 cars. There's parking on the street as well so it's not too bad. They also have excellent chips and salsa...

EDIT: OK, I went back to Raul's after Jason M. offered his review, and now I have to lower my rating to 4 stars. The carnitas plate was surprisingly dry and not-tasty. My coworkers said theirs was dry too. What a horrible disappointment. I am hoping it was just an off-day, so the 4 stars remain, hopefully to be raised back to 5 stars next time I go. Props to Jason M. for going calling me out on my erroneous review prices, but I do stand by their carnitas being delicious and juicy once upon a time. Hopefully they won't disappoint again. END EDIT On Thursdays, Raul's Taco gets packed by 11:45AM, and there's a good reason why: the $7 carnitas plate. So I have an unhealthy obsession with carnitas. With Raul's, I have found my weekly spot to satisfy that obsession. The carnitas are incredibly tasty and cooked to perfection. The plate comes with a giant portion of carnitas with rice, beans, salsa, and tortillas. It's difficult to finish, even if you do possess the appetite of a fatass. I've had Raul's three times, and I've never had anything else except the carnitas plate. It's that good. My coworkers sometimes order the enormous burritos, which are about 10" by 5". They are all married and somewhat suicidal, so lunch at Raul's is their attempt at death by burrito. They also serve Modelo Especial for $5, which is a great beer to accompany the carnitas plate. However, if you value your job, I wouldn't recommend having the Raul's carnitas plate for lunch too often. It causes dire food coma. Today I passed out in training in front of the instructors and my boss. And after that, I went to another room to take a nap. Good thing they were all too happy from eating at Raul's to care.

Dave's write-up made me curious, so away to Raul's I went. I was short on time so I ordered take-out, but the inside of this place is actually quite cute. There are lots of red vinyl booths, and even mini-booths for two which I think is just adorable. The staff is very friendly and they have an A for those of you concerned about such trivialities. I am a bit confused about the prices Dave mentions in his review. While often you'll find prices go up over time, the menu mentioned the carnitas plate special on Thursdays and it's $6.25, not $7. The beers are also $3.50 and only $3.25 if you order a domestic. Whatever, cheaper is better. This place didn't quite seem like the taco joint to supply the taco fix I crave, so I went with my next love, the burrito. A Supreme Burrito no less. Dave doesn't joke, they make some damn big burritos here. I guess that is where lies the downfall of Raul's. It was big, with lots of beans and rice and some chunks of meat, but the carnitas were actually pretty dry. The quantity of beans and rice made everything pretty bland and made it difficult for any flavor to stand out. Three stars for now.

Excellent salsa and overall great quality food. The typical greasy diner looking Mexican restaurant that always prove to have the best food. I moved to Utah several years ago, and I try to stop in every time I am in SoCal, even though I seldom visit anywhere near Hawthorne.

This is some of the best Mexican food in the South Bay! None of that wanna be stuff that restaurants push off on people as authentic. Go for their Thursday carnitas plate $6.99 11:00-4:00. Carnita lovers you will not be disappointed.

I have been going to Rauls since it opened. If you love enchiladas, their sauce cannot be beat. Best enchilada sauce ever!!!

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

(4)Franklin M.
(5)Angela S.
Love this place! Lots of memories here. Been coming here since I can remember and I'm 36 years old! I now bring my kids and husband here any chance we get we live close to Orange County now but still still come down to Raul's
(4)Sarah H.
(4)Gaylen R.
Service was great! The complimentary salsa and chips were fresh and yummy. My nacho came with flavorless shredded boiled chicken which was pretty disappointing. They need to work on the menu which was a piece of regular printer paper with illegible words.
(3)Mark B.
Sorry I'm done. Last 2 visits my order for guacamole resulted in a small bowl of mashed avocado. No lime. No cilantro. No salt. No tomato. No onion. Just avocado. If the kitchen doesn't care why should I? Shame, because the owners are good people.
(1)Jay J.
Awesome salsa, and the carnitas are to die for; For lunch I either split the burrito supreme with a coworker or get 2 tacos and make 3-4 out of it as they overload it with meat. Great service as well
(5)Samantha T.
(3)Ricardo M.
Rauls is the best Mexican spot I go to around my area they're food is bombacious the salsa is on point n the service is flawless. Actually waiting for them to open to go eat there today
(5)Sean A.
(5)Anjelica A.
(4)Kristin M.
The house salsa was spicy tonight just a little too much. The taco's have more lettuce and was bland. The taquito's were dry the chicken had no flavor....
(2)Emily S.
Raul's is a good place for Mexican food. While there are tons of options around this area, this place isn't too bad. I've only been here once, and I am a fan. The chips they bring you with the salsa is pretty good. The chips are well salted, and the salsa, a little spicy, had lots of stuff in it.. Not just tomatoes. I tried the carnitas quesadilla and the chile relleno with rice and beans. The carnitas quesadilla was a pretty good size, and I liked that it came with good guacamole and sour cream. The guac went well with the quesadilla and the chips. The rice and beans that came with the chile relleno was your standard rice and beans. I like the rice they serve at Teresa's Mosaic Café in El Segundo more. There rice here was a little bit harder. The chile relleno was good, much better than the one at Frijoles. Don't get the chile relleno at Frijoles. It was a good size, with enough sauce although it could have used a little more salt. I guess it's good it came out that way, so you could customize it to how ever you want it. Salty or unsalty. There also wasn't too thick of a slab of cheese in the chile relleno. I would order this dish again! Their albondingas soup was also good. It looked like a basic soup with meatballs, carrots, celery, and onions but it was so much more. The soup was well spiced, and the vegetables were nice and soft. Parking: They have a small parking lot for their store, and it easily fits about 8 or so cars, but there's also easy to find street parking. Service: Service here was great! Ivan was super attentive.
(4)Felicia G.
Wish i could have tried the food. But they dont deliver less than a mile from their establishment....
(1)C. M.
(4)Alfredo G.
Been coming here for years as it has good food at a fair price. This time I had a combo #1 which is 1 taco (shredded beef) and 1 enchilada (cheese) with rice and beans for $8.xx. The service is good and seating is normally pretty good as well.
(4)Michael G.
I have been going here for years...It still has the same menu..food is still good, but under the new ownership sometimes you have to wait a while for yiur meal..prices have jumped up a little.. Real good Tostadas...
(4)Alec G.
I have been coming here for years. The food is terrific but the service has always been slow slow slow! Very friendly. I think the kitchen is too slow. It is difficult to make it back to work on time when we come here for lunch.
(3)Tenesha W.
(4)Moji M.
I ordered the #9 2 enchilada plate (shredded chicken & beef) with rice and beans. It was absolutely delicious! I seriously have no complaints, it was a decent amount of food for $9.99.
(5)Linda O.
The most authentic Mexican food I've ever had. The service is good and the food is better. My favorite is the Cammarones el Mojo del Ajo ( I think I spelled it right). So yummy they should name this one 'Linda's Favorite'. Shrimp sautéed in a garlic butter sauce with rice and beans. When I walk in the door the start to get the garlic sauce ready. I Iove to eat at Raul's. I have taken many people there who always go back with or without me. My friends and family love it too. It's also a nice place to have a party. Go and Enjoy !
(5)Matthew A.
(5)Stuart A.
Extremely friendly staff. Two kids and the grandparents were catered to in a sincerely friendly way. I had the gigantic bowl of pasole and it was wonderful. It's nice to break out of the South Bay bubble. Worth a try. I'll be back.
(4)Enrique L.
Go here at least once a week for lunch. Carnitas and chile verde are bomb. Everything else is good but these two are my favorite. $6.95 lunch special bean and rice with plentiful serving plus drink. You can't beat that. Great food and price
(4)Judi S.
(4)Briana O.
(5)Noor U.
(4)Dan G.
Decent mexican. Flautas were pretty good. Good horchata. Slow service even with the restaurant empty. Love the mexican pizza with carnitas.
(4)Timo B.
The Horchata is the best I've found. The carnitas is really good too. The chips and salsa are on point.
(4)Xtina B.
(4)Marie B.
Visited Raul's for dinner, they have the best beef burrito supreme. Will be back to try something else soon.
(5)Michele L.
(5)Josh A.
Been coming here since birth. Always tasty with great service, my favorite for Mexican food.
(5)Stephen K.
I'm a fan of Raul's! Pros: Tasty food Large portion sizes Friendly staff Cheap prices Cons: Interior could use some improvement I'll be back.
(5)Jessica M.
Food is good, BUT 7 dollars for a bean tostada? 11 dollars for 2 enchilada plate? This place is over priced.
(2)Angela M.
(5)Me M.
I Love Raul's! Authentic mexican food. I love their cheese enchiladas. Happy Hour Beers! Yum!
(5)April S.
The best Mexican restaurant in the south bay. Period. My favorite restaurant since childhood. All food is good and staff is awesome and prices are good. Always get the two taco combo plate. I miss the crushed ice though. GO and EAT there!! :)
(5)V P.
(1)Rico S.
Been coming here for years and they around the block from us! Authentic Mexican food, large portions, great prices. Mind you the decor is old/worn but I come here for the FOOD people. Want fancy, go somewhere else.
(5)Laura S.
(5)Ricardo R.
After years of passing by this place I finally decided to stop by and give it a try. Their chicken pozole is excellent! Will definitely keep coming back for the hangover cures
(5)Kami L.
One word...Carnitas. It's so tender and tasty. I love Raul's.
(5)Eddie C.
Food is always great no matter what you choose go for the Carnitas is always a hit with me and don;t forget Guacamole and sour cream only time i have been disappointed is when i ate there one time and the waitress was wearing flip flops
(3)Andrew F.
(3)Mathieu L.
(5)Leslie P.
(3)Leah T.
(5)Mary S.
I haven't eaten there in years, no longer live in the state, but I am happy to know it is still there. I use to live about a mile from there and ate there all the time, never had a bad meal. And for the person that is going to El Tarasco's, well they also have great food but unless they have moved parking is a real pain in the rear.
(5)Steve C.
(4)Scott Z.
(4)Lorraine R.
(4)Kathy F.
(4)Phil S.
tried their hard shell chicken taco and the mexican pizza. they get a half more star for simply *having* the hard shell tacos. these are hard to come by.... mexican pizza was good, but nothing too special. i'll be fine with taco h(b)ell's version. i'll go back and try other dish, but for now it can't beat gloria's cafe.
(3)April S.
Favorite Lunch break stop :) They have really great burritos and the service is really fast if you need to get in and out of there. I recommed the burrito's or enchiladas.. Really anything there is good. The prices are very reasonable compared to all the other mexican restaurants in the area.
(4)Hector M.
Not a bad Mexican food place! Some stuff is really good. We eat here pretty often. Thanks!
(4)Moni L.
First tried today.... I really like this place. Waitress was extremely nice and attentive. Must try.
(3)Crystal R.
Good lunch special. small spot, only have 2 types of beer, and the latest they deliver is 8pm. OH, and the burrito was delicious!!
(4)Derrick A.
Wow this place was awesome, food was great and the service was off the hook!! the price now that was the cherry on top!!! I'll Be Back!! Fo Sho!!
(4)Brenda H.
(4)Conor L.
Great carne asada burrito but parking can be bad. Good service and laid back feel
(4)Chris Y.

I Live right across the street from this place, and am more than pleased every time I go there!!! Great food with great people. I have lots of family events there and everyone always enjoys the food. Ohh they have great fresh chips as well!!!
