Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Walked In, and we were eventually told to seat ourselves. Nothing wrong with that, but if that's the policy on a busy Sunday morning, maybe put up a sign that says "Please Seat Yourselves". That'll save us the awkward four minutes of wondering what to do and where the wait-staff is. Got our drinks right away, that was good. I asked for a cup of water with my coffee at about 10:10, when I got my coffee. Put our order in at about 10:15. Now at this point, it was a full house. I fully appreciate how that can affect a restaurant. Our waiter (heavy-set hispanic gentleman with a ponytail) was clearly occupied, but by 10:25, I had to flag him down and ask him again for water. He said he would be right back. 10:40, still no water, and no food either. Water doesn't take that long to pour, even if you are busy. I saw our waiter walk back and forth from the kitchen and past our table multiple times with nothing in his hands. He could have dropped a water off on any one of those trips. 10:45, finally got our food. Omeletes and toast don't take that long to cook. Asked for water again, he finally went and got it. The food was less than spectacular. Very heavy, buttery, almost greasy taste, and the 'lemon chicken' in my Joe's Omelete had no lemon flavor. Also, the hash browns wer'ent extra crispy, despite having asked for them and been repeated back during the ordering process that they would be. When our waiter dropped the check, he did it while we were all still eating, and he did so while running away and yelling across the room that we could pay whenever we wanted. It wasn't busy anymore, only about half capacity in the area we were seated. He didn't tell us that we needed to go to the register to pay, so we sat there with cash/a credit card on the bill for about 10 minutes before we saw other people walking around the bar and realized there was a cash register. All-in-all, the food was not worth coming back for, and the service was worth avoiding. Would have liked a friendlier wait-staff, especially at a local "ma-and-pa" breakfast place, especially on a Sunday morning. Sorry to say, Domingo's Café, but I won't be coming back.

Had breakfast at Domingos for the first time with my brother-in-law, who is a regular. I received a warm and friendly greeting and they knew my B-I-L by name. Just felt like "I" was a regular too. Tomas was our server and what a character...lots of fun, helpful, and great banter. And Monica keeps an eye on Tomas! Food was good, plentiful, and came promptly. Next time I am in town, I'll come to breakfast at Domingos. Who knowns? They might even remember my name! Bill Neely Oakland CA

Came here for New Year's breakfast. Since so many other places were closed when I called, was glad that this place was open. I ordered the Chef's special (french toast, 1 egg and bacon) with a side of hashbrowns. My friends ordered the pancake special (with an egg and bacon) and the country breakfast (eggs, biscuits & gravy, home potatoes, and bacon). I received 6 pieces of french toast. Granted, it was basically regular toast with egg, but it was a mound of food! The hash browns were crispy and good. The country breakfast was also sizable. And while one friend preferred his home potatoes to my hash browns, his biscuits and gravy were a little too cold and the bacon a little too overcooked for our liking. My other friend didn't have much negative or positive to say about the pancakes. Overall, this is a great place to get food after a long night.

This is like the clean cut alternative to Alphie's across the street. Both are miles better than anything in Santa Barbara for low smug, low price, high quality breakfast eats. Go to Alphie's if you're young, want a great cheap meal, and are in to greasy spoons. Go here if you are bringing the girl you somehow convinced to sleep over last night, the fam that's visiting you, or just aren't enlightened enough to be in to greasy spoon joints.
(4)Jessica C.
Love this place. You can tell its a small town diner with lots of love. Great food and great service. Definitely will be coming back!
(4)Lucas C.
I only stopped in for coffee b/c the sign out front says "coffee shop". Well, it's a restaurant that serves coffee. And it's not very good coffee (btw- it cost me $3.00 to fill my travel mug = rip-off). Food might be decent. I don't know. I didn't stay for breakfast.
(3)S C.
Staff friendly, food awesome. Had the enchiladas and eggs, and the french toast. All was delicious. Made it a great morning.
(5)Melissa D.
Tasty veggie omelet and crispy hashbrowns, plus good service.
(4)Jessica P.
Old world style diner with a local flavor and atmosphere. Gargantuan omelettes and breakfast plates. Coffee was great, served up in those old school ceramic mugs that you just want to rest up against your cheek. They have outdoor seating and it's pretty spacious inside, so if you're looking for a down home regular breakfast that will fill you up for the price, I'd check this out.
(4)Chuck A.
I ate there for breakfast once, I swear they microwaved my breakfast. Skip.

Out of respect for your time, let me just say this about Domingo's Cafe (DC) in Goleta (don't ask how I found this place): 1. DC offers some of the finest diner food known to mankind. Unbelievablely good and always fresh and made to order. 2. Chris, the grill man for 20+ years, is one of the best cooks you'll ever come across...he knows how to sober you up in mere moments. 3. DC's vibe is like you just walked in to a Midwest diner at 2pm. Semi-full, couple of regulars, and there's 1970's wood everywhere. 4. It's clean and you can marinate for as long as you want sobering up, filling up, or just chilling out. 5. Did I mention that the food is OTFRS? (Off The Fucking Richter Scale) DC is worth the road trip unless you just so happen to live in Old Town Goleta...which means you have problems...BIG problems. Regardless, just be prepared to score a room afterwards because you will be loaded with goo for hours...and will love every moment of it. Cheers!
(5)Matthew P.
Was very pleased with the flavor of the Goleta Omelet. I thought it was a crazy combo, even including things like walnut salsa, but it was so worth it and the chicken was nice and tender! I like mopping up the remains in the soft yet slightly chewy flour tortillas. Yum! It is my new favorite sport for breakfast on this street
(5)Dave K.
Great food, coffee, service at a reasonable price. Nice family owned cafe with a lot of locals, would have never found this place without Yelp. Went to Domingo's as a second choice because the other cafe wasn't open on Easter. Not disappointed, kinda glad the first place was closed. Had the eggs ranchero with beans, rice, and lettuce and it was great, too bad we don't have a cafe like this here.
(5)moosedog i.
Three stars is probably a tad on the generous side, but I liked Domingo's well enough. Good service, breakfast not fabulous but perfectly fine, and I liked the booths and the down-home atmosphere, although the decor seemed a little forced. Domingo's would probably grow on me if I lived in the area and went a couple more times. As it was, it was at least a nice counterpoint to Santa Barbara's uber-preciousness.
(3)Keith H.
Nope. Nada. Never again. Once bitten, twice shy. The waitress recommended the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs for breaky. The eggs and hashbrowns were o.k., the steak did not get eaten. It was left. The steak and gravy tasted like it just fell off the Cisco truck last week. The cofee was just o.k., nothing to write home about. In short, save your $20. Thanks yelp for allowing me to inform other consumers! Feedback from Domingo's kitchen/waitress help was: "we don't care!".

Great place for Lunch
(4)Crista O.
I was better off spending my time making breakfast myself. My eggs tasted like butter & not eggs. The meat tasted like it was from a tv dinner. Bf had an omelette that had salsa which tasted like pace salsa. Nothing had flavor. Best thing was probably the toast. Never going here again.
(1)Desire J.
Good service. Family atmosphere.
(3)Carla S.
mmm..... I love DOMINGO's!!
(5)Yen T.
There's lots to like about this place: friendly service, filling food, and the homey feel. Hands down, it's my favorite greasy spoon.
(5)Benjamin M.
A new favorite of mine in Santa Barbara. They have good coffee, good milkshakes, good huevo ranchero's. The first time I went here, the service kinda sucked (my friends and I waited 40 minutes through our meal for our milkshakes to get to us) but it was definitely worth the wait. It's a very open eating area, with a classic diner feel. Everyone who comes here seems to love their meal, and the service is very friendly (even if their overly busy)
(4)Claudia H.
best breakfast ive had in a while!!! the waffles are the best!!!!!
(5)Ivette L.
Great Ma and Pa's breakfast place. Kind of odd they only offer one egg with the meals. Overall, cheap and good.
(4)Gwen H.
Had several locals recommend this place while we were waiting to get our tire changed last year. Good enough that we found it again when we came back down to SB this summer even though we didn't remember the name or quite where it was [Hollister is a really long street!]. Awesome service, homey decor, great food.
(5)Joe B.
The best place in Goleta, or maybe even the Santa Barbara area, to sit in a Mission-style breakfast place and hang out with old locals. We were getting our breakfast on before going out to a hike later, so we decided on Domingo's. And what better dish to order in an older Spanish-themed breakfast place than huevos rancheros? They were just fine, and I was just looking for an honest, filling breakfast and some coffee to start out the day, and that's what you'll get from Domingo's. It's worth the visit just to check out the Old Spanish Days posters on the wall dating back to the '60s and '70s, and the picture in the back of downtown SB in the '30s. Apparently the area was jumpin' even then!
(4)Debbie Y.
There surprisingly aren't very many breakfasty/brunchy places in the area but Domingo's cafe was a great find. I've had better blueberry pancakes and poached egges (my own :) but it was this type of home cooking breakfast that I was looking for. Yay for breakfasts, the best meal of the day.
(4)Janelle H.
hurray for a breakfast place!! we were looking up yelp for a good breakfast place in santa barbara area and not many results were turning up!! I couldn't believe it....until DOMINGOS CAFE showed up! the restaurant itself is very cute, old spanish looking with a bunch of christmas trees everywhere (?) but the breakfast menu was good, hot cakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, omelettes, scrambles, etc. i gave it a star for restaurant quality, a star for service, and a star for the menu. but the huevos rancheros takes the two stars off, it was bland and not up to par. next time.. PS the rest of the day they sell a lot of mexican food
(3)michelle b.
This is my favorite breakfast place in the SB area, everything that I have had has been pretty tasty. I usually get a potato, chili beans, and egg scramble so good. Everytime I get it my boyfriend gets something else and ends up eating half of mine. The coffee is pretty potent. The service is always gracious and down to earth. The restaurant is filled with old SB ranchers, its always fun to listen to their conversations about their horses and fields. I honestly didn't know there were ranches in or near SB until I started going here.
(5)Nathan B.
First time there, good food, Friendly and well priced. Nice parking lot in the back entrance. I will for sure be going again for dinner. The breakfast special they had was AMAZING. A Mexican eggs Benedict that had chorizo, poached egg, English muffin, salsa and a bowl of fruit on the side.
(5)Ryan L.
Exceptional service and fantastic food to go with it. We were a party of 8 and called ahead to see if they could accommodate us. Thomas answered and politely said "Absolutely, I will have it ready for you." When we arrived, we were greeted and given our table that was ready and waters ready at each seat. We proceeded to order and every single one of us loved our food. I personally had the chicken enchiladas with egg, rice, and beans. My favorite breakfast now!!!! Thomas was amazing as our server. He is a genuinely a great guy who loves people. Thanks to the staff for a wonderful start to our day!!
(5)Beto R.
I'm gonna start by saying this, I'm straight up Mexican. Not Hispanic, not Latino but full blooded Mexican, Home Depot Certified! Going to a restaurant with the word "cafe" in it, you would never expect some authentic Mexican dishes. I've tried so many different places and nothing compares to the Menudo here! Those who know about Menudo should know that if its not cleaned right it has a scent that's not pleasing. This place has the best Menudo I have ever tried. Whoever is in the back prepping it knows what the hell they're doing. Overall this place is worth it! That's gonna be my new spot on Sunday's, please believe it!
(5)Kristofer R.
This restaurant is yet another Robert Irvine sledge hammer special waiting to happen, but I love this place with great muchness (not a real word, I know, but that is how I feel so work with me). Domingo's is and is not your average breakfast joint. "What the hell does that mean?", you ask. The menu has all the usual suspects, pancakes, waffles, biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak, etc. What makes this place great is that I can pretty much literally top a pancake with an enchilada of my choice if I really felt the urge or gorge on one of my favorite Mexican dishes, Machaca and it would all be solid, well prepared food. For the traditional Mexi-breakfast lovers, they also make a mean Menudo. Service is what you'd expect from the cast of Alice minus the sharp-tongued, hash slinging, disgruntled short order cook screaming at the servers. Not slow, not fast, not poor and not over enthusiastic, just a hard, middle of the road service atmosphere. Do not go here if you are looking for fancy. This is your tasty, multi cultural gut bombing, hangover curing, church crowd if you show up too late on a Sunday, blast from the breakfast past.
(3)Michael R.
Second time at Domingo's and still a fan. Great breakfast, family run. Next time I'm in town will be there again.
(4)Ashlee M.
Looking for a decent cheap breakfast near Santa Barbara? Look no further. This place offers decent servings and prices. The atmosphere is homey and pretty charming.
(3)Cora G.
Was passing through and yelped for a breakfast place and it was #1 in the area. Sat at the bar and received great food and great service. Definitely felt right at home. Their corned beef hash is a must try. I'll be back the next time I'm in town!
(5)Lela R.
I eat at Domingos regularly. Domingo is a great guy. The service is friendly and the food is always excellent. The atmosphere is that of what looks like an old hangar or something. I especially like the chili size.
(5)Neil L.
Wait staff was great. Fast service. Great breakfast. Good value. First te heare and I will plan on coming back!
(5)Denise M.
The service was fantastic and the food was great! I had an enchilada omelette with avocado and my husband had a Goleta omelette. Both omelettes were large and very tasty. This is a great place to go for tasty food and good coffee when you don't want to spend a lot of time or money.
(5)Steve K.
Was good. Staff was friendly. Perfect breakfast food on the cheap. Everything was tasty and we would definitely return. The waitress even made a bunch of modifications for us - which were not expected. Eat here.
(4)Veronica L.
Meh... This place didn't do anything for me. It may have been what I ordered. I was craving biscuits and gravy for breakfast and it was pretty gross. I only ate it because I was really hungry and knew that we weren't going to be stopping anywhere on our ride back home until we hit Pismo and I couldn't wait that long. The biscuits weren't fresh as I've had them at other restaurants. It would have been cool even if they weren't freshly baked- these just tasted old and not too good. The gravy, I thought didn't taste that great either. I was disappointed. The bagel my friend ordered was burnt. How the hell do you mess that up? Lol. My boyfriend ordered menudo. I had a couple of bites and that tasted good. I wouldn't come here again though.
(2)Jerry H.
Okay, allow me a moment.... okay I'm ready. Our first time , food was okay, but not overwhelmingly great as some reviews suggest. The first noticeable thing was the decor, love the woodwork , do not love the wall art. It was nice when it was first placed in 1990 perhaps. But they need updated. Keep the Fiesta posters, replace all the art below or add historical significance information if any. The second thing we noticed, the smell, chlorine water used on the floor and plastic table covers leaves a chemical after thought. Once we sat and really looked, the place hasn't had a deep cleaning in a while. Two thumbs up on location and rustic hometown feeling. Plenty of seating. Mixed feelings on staff. Our server seemed out of sorts. Friendly, but busy and looking stressed. Part of our order was confused with another...with the amount of cheese used the two dishes were virtually the same in appearance. Then it happened. The one inexcusable thing in my opinion. One of the cooks began arguing with a server. There is a large window between kitchen and counter. We got a front row seat of the inner personal relations of the server and kitchen. Attitudes pouring from both sides. It didn't happen once but twice before we left. The meal was good, not great. The drama was petty and unprofessional. This is the 21st century people.
(3)Genevieve W.
This is an amalgamation of three days worth of breakfasts. Can you tell we enjoyed the place? At dinner on Thursday night we asked our waitress for a recommendation for breakfast. We are so glad she recommended Domingo's Cafe! We ended up coming here three days in a row until leaving town again. The eggs were never overdone - scrambled was perfect, over easy was perfect. The bacon wasn't bad and the service was great. Pancakes were nothing special, the waffle wasn't good, so I'd just recommend the two egg breakfast. I had both the potatoes and the hash browns, both weren't too shabby, especially mixed with eggs over easy. The food was always filling and my 3 year old approved of her breakfasts each time. The prices were fair and my husband was even full - always a difficult prospect. We'd go again. It may not be the best food ever, but it was good, service was excellent and it was very kid-friendly.
(4)Cliff J.
Excellent breakfast!!! Owner(or I assume the owner) was really nice and courteous!
(5)Brittney C.
Skeptical walking in but possibly the best breakfast my husband and I have ever had! The Santa Barbara omelet and joes goleta omelet were beyond amazing! So glad we ventured out of our resort (The Bacara) for a little local fare!
(5)Ives Z.
A perfect breakfast. Yummy food, family friendly service, and terrific coffee! We're coming back.
(5)Hilda A.
Good coffee, good service, and an amazing breakfast burrito with fresh salsa. Fair/cheap prices.
(5)Nicole U.
We were looking for a good breakfast while visiting the area. Domingo's had great reviews so we decided to stop by. Parking lot was full so that seemed like a good sign. We walked in a were told we could sit where ever we would like. Chose a booth right in front of the bar and then the wait began. Coffee came out, without any cream so we waited. We placed our orders, chorizo scrambles with a sides of re fried beans...and we waited. The owner came by at one point and apologized for the wait and commented that the server said we were starting to look nervous. I think she mistook my look of hunger for nervousness. Our food arrived about 25 minutes later. Everything was fresh and well flavored. Beans were tasty and covered with cheese. Good portion of scrambled eggs and chorizo. I appreciate non greasy chorizo. Decent prices, we left full but a little behind schedule.
(3)Landon H.
Great little cafe for breakfast. Staff was friendly and the food was super tasty. Try the Chef's Special - the French Toast is just like mamma used to make it!
(5)Malia C.
The guy who waited on us was funny and personable. He started our day off with a nice vibe! Had the egg, potato, cheese and sausage burrito which was huge (I could only eat half of it) and it was delicious. Put some mild salsa on top to give it more flavor too. My sister had the heuvos rancheros which she enjoyed. We are a bit particular about our Mexican rice but we gave the thumbs up on the rice that came with it. Good fresh b-fast for a decent price. They also have free wifi there if you think turning off your phone for a few minutes is the end of the world. If I was a local, I would prob consider getting my groggy non-morning ass up for breakfast more often.
(4)Orchid R.
Rice flavorless and a bit hard. Salsa tasted like Pace. Beans tasted canned. The huevos rancheros were okay.
(2)SharOna A.
Domingo's Cafe is a wonderful family run restaurant with a casual atmosphere that serves up traditional home style American fare and includes a variety of delicious Mexican dishes. Menudo is served 7 days a week...a rare treat! Most breakfast entrees are served all day. Their menu consists of affordable good food with generous portions. To Go Orders are handled quickly & efficiently. The owners & staff are friendly and make you feel right at home. There are multiple booths, tables & counter service great for when dining alone or reading the newspaper. They can also easily accommodate larger groups. Free WiFi is a nice added bonus plus their entry from the back parking lot. The decor is filled with local historic & nostalgic photos & artwork, a large collection of Fiesta posters, Lemon Festival posters along with original crate labels of the region, and an ever changing display of delightful decorations for the seasons. Party Platters of Tamales, Enchiladas, Burritos, Rice & Beans are made custom for your event with reasonable advance notice! 5 Stars for Domingo's Cafe!
(5)Courtney R.
This was a wonderful surprise of a place. Off the beaten path and let our dog hang out with us on the patio while eating. The food was delicious homestyle favorites. We had the Pork Chile Verde and the Hash and Eggs. Both, in their own right, were worth having seconds off. Each were decent portions and filling, the hash and eggs came with fresh fruit with lots of berries and kiwi which was nice since a lot of breakfast places just opt for melons and apples.
(4)Clinton F.
Deceptively plain hole in the wall from the outside. Inside it opens up into a great space. Very clean with attentive staff. Excellent breakfast with lots of options very reasonably priced.
(4)Jaycson R.
Staff is friendly and are always on top of things. You don't have to keep asking for refills. The waiters are always social and friendly. Great family food and the prices are reasonable. The inside of the building has a nice atmosphere with their Spanish style look.
(5)Riley B.
This was about average. Place was cheap, it was good, I would go again. But nothing that screamed "Five Stars Please". Just a lil whole in the wall diner.
(3)Dave G.
Service was good, loved the ambiance. Bacon was the best. French toast was nothing special whatsoever.
(3)Sara T.
Went here Sunday morning with my friend. Such a cute place! Had Joe's Goleta omelette, and it was killer! The walnuts tripped me out, but it tasted sooooooo good. The homemade salsa was great too. Service was friendly and accountable, but not all of the staff seemed too thrilled being on the clock. Besides that mildly uncomfortable vibe, everything else was perfect. Try the omelette!
(4)Nick G.
Went to Domingo's while on a trip heading north. Food was decent, though maybe a bit pricey for size of the portion. My veggie omelet was good, but not huge. We also had an issue with the coffee. Ordered coffee, mugs were brought, everything was fine. When a waitress came around offering refills we accepted, but the coffee she poured had a pronounced taste of bleach. We mentioned it and the coffee was replaced and fine on the second attempt, but the "bleachy" coffee was a bit off putting.
(3)Niko M.
Domingo's is by far one of my favorite breakfast/lunch restaurants out there. I live in San Diego but I make frequent visits and trips up to Goleta and i literally go there every morning. The staff is great, food is fantastic. I try something new every time I go there because I have to try everything on the menu. Long story short this place is wonderful, I would recommend it to anyone who wants good food and great conversation.
(5)Mocha G.
What a friendly family run restaurant. We are first timers here and came here for a low key breakfast. When asked what the specials were, they bought the portable sign to our table. Tomas, our server was very helpful and welcomed us to the restaurant. Don't see that type of hospitality too often. Food was good, I had the eggs (ordered egg whites only) with fresh corn on top of hash browns topped with country gravy. Yummy. I asked for a bowl of fresh fruit and it was artistically arranged with a perimeter of fresh sliced strawberries. (see photo). I really did not expect such attention to detail, but the fruit bowl was gorgeous Monica who is part of the family stopped by to ask how everything was. I noticed in the restaurant they make party trays and homemade tamales (requires 48 hour notice). The restaurant is full of only Santa Barbara posters and picture highlights from the olden days. I truly enjoyed my visit and will be back for more breakfasts.
(4)Socalfoodie A.
I ordered off the menu and picked up breakfast and lunch for a busy day ahead. For breakfast they made eggs and steamed vegetables. Lunch was the taco salad. The lady servers are friendly, but not too friendly - just right. Many say the menudo is excellent. I trust them but it's not for me. The building and interior are rustic and parking is not a problem. It's like going back in time, in a good way.
(4)Eddie M.
Pictures don't do it justice, there's a lot more seating in shown pictures, not to mention there good service and menu choices
(4)Doug M.
My wife and I have had nothing but great food and a friendly staff here. I tend toward lunch options like the chili size or fish and chips (yum to both!) while she usually gets the breakfast options (also way tasty!).
(4)Sure I'll Try It. M.
Don't listen to Lucas c's comment. I was next to him when he walked in. And he didn't have a travel mug. It was more like a thermos. So when the server charged him 3.00 I thought it was reasonable and the coffee is good. He was expecting a latte. He should have gone to starbucks like all the Whiney people. Over all coffee is great and the food is good. I enjoy this place and the staff is very friendly. 5 stars in my book
(5)Alex N.
From the outside, Domingo's Cafe looks a bit shady and the neighboring buildings don't help that image either. But when we walked in and saw that the place was completely filled with people, we were quite surprised and relieved. Guess we should have known better...30+ reviews with a 4-star rating don't lie. Anyways, our food was fairly priced and pretty good. I got a Breakfast Burrito with bacon, generously filled with egg. The inside of the restaurant does look very old with a bunch of old posters and table cloths, but I guess it's fine. Only thing that caused me to take off a star was the wait time. It looked like since they were so busy they couldn't get to everyone in a timely fashion to take our orders. They let you sit wherever that's open, so I assume that doesn't help.
(4)Barb P.
We were look'en for an easy breakfast and stumbled upon this local hang out. Family run business. I went healthy with the spinach feta omelette and hubby went Mexican with a scramble & tortillas. Both very tasty meals. We enjoyed the counter experience. Yes, we dropped a pin for a return visit.
(5)Alice C.
Ach, the local breakfast place. While I've always tried to go to a local breakfast joint when I'm on vacation, I don't think I've found that many that impressed me. Not that the food wasn't fulfilling, but...if I can make the food as good as theirs, why go to their place and skip out on another restaurant? On the bright side, their potato hash is a notch above the average place. It's not a bad place to stop by before 11am though, because other places around this part of town don't seem to open this early.
(3)Daniel S.
Needed a good breakfast/brunch and was thrilled that yelp led me here. Everything everyone had was solid.
(4)Doctor G.
Super friendly service at this American diner/Mexican restaurant on Hollister Ave. All of our breakfast dishes were great. Fruit bowl was served beautifully. Asked for crispy hash browns and that's what I got. The decor isn't much, but the food and service makes up for it.
(3)Jon H.
My Favorite breakfast place, period. Family run , Quality Food and very fair prices. Roomy booths too !!
(5)Bonnie B.
Honestly, I'm not sure what all the fuss is about here. I came here for breakfast recently and while I had an okay experience, it was nothing to write home about. The interior is much more impressive than it looks from the street and the service was fine, but the omelet I had (ham & cheese) was $9.25 and looked/tasted about like something you could get at Waffle House for a few bucks less. Overall, I didn't have a bad experience here, but I'd be hesitant to come back knowing that Alphie's is just down the street and is way better (and cheaper!).

Domingo's is somewhere you bring your family for brunch..or crawl into after partying all night. Standard diner food with a twist of Mexican influence. The French toast and the omelets are really good. The salsa is surprisingly awesome, so make sure you ask. Their home style potatoes and biscuits&gravy (sides) are also amazing but they're only available til 10 or 11am, so get out of bed or you'll miss them!

I came back and ate here again and tried the feta scramble, this dish was good, pretty decent. I guess it was my dish last time, depends what you get here then. I did ask for tea though and it tasted like coffee.

Average food average service. Stopped in for breakfast had the bacon, avocado, omelet, it was taste less. House potatoes were cold in the middle and again taste less. Was better off heading to Denny's but I took the advice and ratings on yelp.

Domingo's has a rustic or "old school" ambiance. We had a great breakfast. The service is fast and very friendly. It has free wifi!

Friendly Staff, Decent Grub. It's a mexi-fusion cafe/dinner. Not much more to say. 4 stars, I liked the experience, wi-fi, prompt coffee re-fill service. I'll come back.

My fiancé and I decided to come here after a walk on the beach this morning. We're visiting from Los Angeles so we wanted to drop by a diner/café type of breakfast spot. I found Domingos on Yelp and we were not disappointed! We came around 9:30am on a Sunday during the Labor Day weekend, and there were a good amount of customers inside but still plenty of seats open. I ordered the chicken enchilada omelet and my fiancé got the chicken enchilada with two eggs (I secretly loved his dish slightly more than mine). They were both excellent dishes!! I especially LOVED my hash browns! I usually don't order hash browns because every time I have, they were bland. But my fiancé and I dug into my hash browns, and kept wanting more and more. YUMMM!! This place has a sweet, relaxed, homey restaurant feel, that seems to be family-owned. The service was quite excellent too. Our orders came out pretty quickly, about 5-7 minutes, which I was thrilled about! Our server was very sweet and attentive. She came by multiple times to check on us to see if we needed anything. I also saw and overheard other servers going around asking if customers wanted refills or needed anything. We highly recommend Domingos whether you're local or visiting from out of town! It is quite worth the trip! Thank you, Domingos, for adding to our delicious food adventures during our trip! We'll be coming back if we're in town again!

I might be biased because I think Mexican breakfast is second to none, but Domingo's Cafe was great. We came in with a group of 9 and they had 2 big tables set up in case a big group like ours came in. The food came out quick and the wait staff was very kind and helpful. I had the Chorizo breakfast burrito and a cup of coffee. The burrito was loaded with flavor and I may have had 3+ cups of the fresh coffee. A few of my friends got the enchiladas with eggs on top (which is the reason we came here after seeing a photo of that on yelp). I don't think any of them left a scrap of food on their plate. Domingo's is definitely worth stopping in whether you're heading to/from UCSB or ending a weekend camping up the 154 like we were.

I really don't know why many people rave over this place. Service was very poor. My family and I had to wait 30 minutes for someone to get to US only to be told that we had to wait longer. It was not packed. A couple that came in after us got served first and yet the couple that was there before us was still waiting.

Service is so slow. It takes a while to get seated, to be given the menu, and then for the food to come afterwards. The food is decent; it's a decent brunch place to go to when you don't want to drive all the way to State St. The environment is very friendly, lots of families and I always see other fellow UCSB students every time I go. Domingo, the owner, has been there every time I've gone and he always has this little girl helping him set up the tables. It's so cute. I don't have any dish that I crazy loved; everything was just alright. Each dish ranges from ($8-12). I would recommend coming if you have time to wait for a table and for mediocre service and food.

Domingo's has no air conditioning, and a long wait. We walked in and found a booth (self seating) and waited 20 minutes for our table to be bussed, and a menu. We placed our orders quickly, and waited another 30 minutes for our food. I considered walking out at least 5 times but didn't because I didn't want to take the time to go elsewhere and wait, even for the air conditioning. The food isn't bad but I wouldn't give it more than 3 stars because of the long uncomfortable wait.

If you want giant portions of Sysco restaurant truck fare this place might be for you. If you have any special dietary needs start looking for another venue. Every thing is production line style. The food and environment is very 70's Mexican American; a bit shabby but lots pictures & chotkeys. Prices match portion size. Avoid the house salad. The day we were there was UCSB move in day which happens annually but amazingly they did not staff appropriately for the crowds. We waited over an hour to be served & patrons that came in after us were served ate & left before were served tepid menudo with a cold skin on top sad sawdust textured salad of dried out brown iceberg lettuce with a teaspoon of shriveled carrot on top (they could not even offer vinegar/oil to dress the salad) & a half warm breakfast. We found the food average comparable to any Aleberto's or Mexican fast food not any better. We will not be returning

Great breakfast, French toast chef special, good portions. Bacon crispy to perfection. Syrup served hot, nice touch. Pleasant service,

Zoiks. This was a disappointment. D'Brickashaw, the food loving T-Rex, was not impressed, either. Sad that it was because I had such high expectations, set by some of these glowing Yelp reviews and pictures. Nestled just off what seems like the main drag of Goleta, my sister and I entered what seemed like a small cafe. The pleasant surprise was that this place is actually quite spacious. It's rather huge. That's where pleasant ends. Decor is what I would expect a "Mom n Pop"cafe to have so I won't knock it on that. It was also clean. That's important to me. Call me crazy. C'mon!!! We seated ourselves and took in the area and synced up to their complimentary wifi and poured over the menu, that was presented to us in short time. At first I thought the flow of service was set...but...but...it was not to be. I'm gonna blame timing because maybe they were expecting the place to be busy, but morning hours at a popular place, it seems implied. At the time we arrived it seemed like it was 1 vs the world and as the meal progressed and cups stayed empty, that became more the tone. It wasn't packed in there, but there was one large group and a couple families, including the two of us, but it was no onslaught. 75% of the establishment was still empty. Food did come fast but that was really the only thing that did. Refills barely did, nor was the finish to the dining experience. So...yea...service was a bit lacking. Now to the meat of this experience and home to the Great Depression. My sister and I had general ideas what we wanted so picking was a problem. She had the enchilada omelet and I had the Joe's Goleta omelet. The descriptions did well for a quick sell. The enchilada omelet is pretty self-explanatory, it's an enchilada but use an omelet as the vessel instead of a tortilla. As for mine dish, a beast stuffed with avocado, lemon chicken and a nutty salsa. Sounds pretty rad, right? Now, heres the thing. Had I closed my eyes and ate this, I wouldn't have tasted any of that stuff. I would have recognized the textures but, to my amazement, I lost all the flavors. They were all drowned out in the heaviness of the egg. I literally had to take the platter apart to tasted each component, individually. That says a bit since avocado is quite a standout flavor. I couldn't find it. Not on my plate! Not in that pile. The egg was overpowering everything! As for my side of country style potatoes...those didn't have much of a taste either. They just tasted like potatoes. Yea, I know, that sounds stupid but breakfast tatoes and hashbrowns have a taste, a distinctive taste that the cooking oil gives it. My tatoes seemed dry and flavorless so I had to smother them in ketchup to give it a hand. I wanted to believe I just picked a dud off the menu but I saw my sister suffering the same fate. I took a bite and figured out why she was suffering. Her plate was also a pile of flavorless sorrow. The egg was also winning the battle. The shame was the enchilada sauce we very tame to both of our non-smoking palettes. Then there was the meat. That sad, dry crumble that was in the omelet. I tasted it on it's own and while I tasted a hint of salt...it was only slightly. There was no moisture to be found. Meat with no juice just has sad panda written all over it. That was actually a shock because the tastes on her plate were suppose to be very assertive. They weren't. It was pretty damning. Thankfully pricing was ok but the damage was done. As cross country travels go, this will be a place I skip. Unfortunately, this may be a Mexican restaurant, but this is a restaurant that turned into a Mexican't. Eat up, Minions!!

THE feta eggs, cheese and spinach is great. I add sausage to it... the patty kind.... Monica and Alexia are great servers, so sweet

Really good food. Service was ok not great. Good size portions. We had breakfast all around. The pancakes smelled wonderful before they even got to the table. It looks like it's an old converted auto shop building. The atmosphere was like a nice neighborhood place. I would come here again. The hot salsa was actually hot and tasty too. The mild smelled good but I like hot so I didn't try it. Good for big parties too. We had 8 people sat right away and room for more.

Came here for brunch! I always try to get huevos rancheros when I can, but I wanted them with refried beans (I know I know ...) and they don't use refried! Good to know. Boyfriend and I split the Santa Barbara omelette. Came with hash browns and four slices of toast, which was plenty for two people. The omelette itself was pretty decent, but the ratio of cheese and sour cream to avocado / olives was pretty high. I don't think I ate a single olive ... Waiter was nice and attentive. However, I found several ants on the table and in the jelly/jam cup. I'm hoping they just wandered in from the window.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I'm always craving potatoes, and I love hash browns. If I could come every morning to order their French Toast with a side of Hash Browns I would! Compared to other Western/Hispanic breakfast restaurants here in the SB/Goleta area, this place beats them all! Service is always friendly. However, the decor is outdated, but after you're presented with your food you forget about it. There's also free wifi, and it's pretty fast when the place isn't too full. There's also a small parking lot in the back, which fills up quickly on most mornings! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Breakfast Restaurants!

Great place! Quick breakfast b4 getting on the plane! Wifi did not work but the French Toast made up for it!!

Your average cafe food is nothing special. But the service was really good so I would give it 3.5 stars which you can't on here so I'll give 4 stars.

Best waffles in Santa Barbara area! Light, flaky, served with warm syrup and butter. With the perfectly cooked egg and bacon (combo plate) and hot coffee, I couldn't be happier. Kudos to the chef and server.

I came to this cafe on my trip to Santa Barbara and all I can say is WOW! I had the enchilada omelette with hash browns, and an english muffin. As soon as I got the food in front of me I got a wif of your typical omelette and hash brown with some extra spices. The first bite can best be described as a "foodgasm" it was that amazing. The service was quick and very friendly and the place has a nice old fashion homely feel to it. I will DEFINITELY be coming back here on future trips.
