the best thing about Maria's is their shredded beef tacos. they are bigger than any of their competitions tacos and so full of flavor and the meat is NEVER dry. in fact, you have to eat them fairly quickly so the tortilla shell doesnt crack. also, I LOVE the quacamole sauce they use on their taquitos. sure they have home style guacamole, but I like this one. go for the tacos, they don't skimp on the meat.

I wish I had a better review, but the only thing I enjoyed at the time was my taqitos with the lime green guacamole, but you do get an option let me put that out there, if you want fresh or the liquid one, I'm not a fan of fresh unless I make it myself since I don't like cilantro or onion but I seen it when I walked in and it looked nice and fresh. The sad part was I kept burping up my meal. Beans were okay, but the rice was dry, I'm Mexican so I know what real homemade taste like. My friends liked their food and one goes all the time. Unfortunately I won't be going back since I can make this all myself at home.

We have been here twice in the last month. The food is decent and we like supporting local small business. This last take-out order killed chances of return. 6:15 pm on a Saturday night, busy, but still a couple open tables. Our order had not been prepared when I arrived and I waited about 10 minutes. The order was bagged and not until I had paid did the waiter bother to tell me they were OUT of cilantro. So, our simple grilled chicken, onion, and cilantro tacos were missing 1/3 of their fixings. All good...I walked 3 doors down to the Vons and bought cilantro for 59 cents...what a concept, run nextdoor for an ingredient, commonly found in a Mexican restaurant! #Fail for problem solving and customer service!

We definitely liked this place, we were referred there by a friend & finally went there a few weeks back then realized we'd been there back in the day that said, the food was good, plentiful & had good flavor with reasonable price. The atmosphere is clean, warm & pleasant but small our server was right there for us being a small place may have helped also they don't open till 11 but they do have some breakfast items. the chicken taco plate I ordered was recommended and they were good & big, larger than most, my wife enjoyed her meal as well she said the tamale & her soup was very good. Even though this small business is hidden in north Glendora shopping center it is worth going too. One thing about the salsa here is they do not have a spicy / hot salsa perhaps due to location or demographics BUT what they have had good flavor. We will go back to try some more items on the menu

I went to Marias for the first-time this week. I've lived in Glendora since 2007. I gave Marias two stars, because the staff was friendly. I'm sorry... the food was not good. The tostadas tortilla flat shell was store bought. They didn't fry it in-house. There was no guacamole on it either. It lacked flavor. I honestly felt like they should've paid me to eat there. Not the other way around. They seem to have a steady flow of customers though. Good for them. Being Mexican American must make me biased???

  • Kevin L.

Yes they had a great menu, but the food quality was horrendous. Thought I'd give this place a chance after not going to them for years, guess I now know why... The food was bland, the service was meh. If you're looking for Mexican food, I suggest going to Casa Jimenez in Glendora or Max's in Azusa.

    (2)
  • Mike C.

They have the best salsa - my favorite of any Mexican restaurant I have been to. My favorite item is beef enchilada, not many others use ground beef. If you don't like Maria's, please don't go back!

  • Phillip L.

I went in to get breakfast which they told me they never serve it. I ordered a $6.50 burrito. Big mistake. The burrito looked like one you get for a third grader from the school cafeteria. I couldn't belive it. For what I paid I shoud have went to the Del Taco in the parking lot. Food tasted Meh. Next time I think I'll pass. The place was clean I'll give them that...

This place must be a money laundering front. because their not serving food. I'm not even sure what the meat is. The only reason I came in is because my daughter mentioned it as a place she'd come to after getting out of middle school on early day to grab a taco. I took the family in. The place was about 1/3 capacity (which confuses me even more once I received my order). Their "guacamole" is just green mayonnaise ( or phlegm, I'm not sure). This is the whitest Ozark version of Mexican food I've ever seen and regrettably tasted. I've had better Mexican food in northern Canada where they've never even seen anybody that's not white as snow. Service was slow too. HINT: If you don't see people of Hispanic decent in "Mexican" restaurant...don't expect Mexican food.

I wish I could make it in more often. The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable!

I have been going to Maria's much of my life. Its quality has not wavered over the years. It's not the greatest Mexican food you've ever had, but it's pretty dang good! The workers are all friendly; used to regulars but not rude to new people. Everyone in Glendora eats here so it's not the kind of service where you will be hounded. If you want more napkins-ask. If you want more water-someone will come by in a few to fill it. The chips are fresh made and with a little salt are perfection. Their drinks even come with crushed ice. I love getting the flautas. I prefer flour tortillas to corn so these are the perfect alternative to taquitos. (Not that the taquitos are bad... They're delicious and come slathered in creamy guac.) I've also gotten three al a carte tacos. They come with generous amounts of meat, lettuce and cheese. I get a side of chunky guacamole to put on my tacos. It's the perfect amount with a little extra for chips. Maria's offers both creamy and chunky guacamole so you can take your pick on how you like it.

Five stars for there affordable prices and great food. This place is family owned. I love there bean and cheese burrito wet so good! The food served in a good timely manor. I like how they give you chips and salsa while you are waiting. The people who work here are very friendly and make u feel welcomed. The only flaw is its small and u don't notice it. It is right next to the glendora Von's. Will be going back soon!

  • Dana A.

The best in town. Eat here with co-workers at least once a week. Have enjoyed getting to know the wait staff! Love the chimichangas with the home-style guacamole.

    (5)
  • Kimberly G.

good food, but that salad dressing is fabulous! I suggest ordering a side of that instead of sour cream. good atmosphere, clean, great service. I highly recommend. only thing is don't care for is their abondigas soup. everything else is delicious.

  • Justin A.

This place is a "Glendora" thing and I like that. My whole family loves this place and has been coming for years. The salsa is the best and the food is good too. They have been in business for two generations now I believe...

  • Dominic H.

Been coming here since I was a kid, 20 years or so, and the food is always great, comes out fast and hot, good prices and great service. Their cheese enchiladas are bomb! And cant beat 4 dollar wines! Great for family dinners or just a casual dinner date to talk and have good food.

    (5)
  • William S.

Ok Maria's is greasy and good! Salsa n chips are bomb! But slow service with all family employees whom you can't yell at or motivate to be faster. Plus lady taking our order can barely speak not trying to be mean just hard to understand is all. I'll get it to go and just buy chips n salsa!!!

  • Nathan B.

We decided to go here cause my girlfriend usually likes the place, but gets takeout. This time we decided to eat in and it didn't really go well. We waited about 8 minutes after being sat and given chips and salsa before we even got our water. The server/owner didn't really say anything to us and when I asked for a drink she just laughed like she was annoyed that I hadn't asked earlier. Overall the service was just bad and the owner was somewhat rude. The food was decent, but my beef taco didn't taste like it was seasoned at all and the cheese enchilada got hard and kinda nasty fast. I really enjoyed the beans and rice that came with the dish however. My girlfriend also loved her veggie Burrito and salad. We provably won't be going back unless we just need cheap Mexican food quick, but we'll definitely be ordering takeout.

Marias is my favorite restaurant. My friends, family and I have gone here my whole life and my parents have been going most of their lives. I always say that this would be my dying meal. I said it just today as I was trying a new mexican restaurant. I just can't find one I like nearly as much. Love it so much! Tip * you will have garlic breath... for a while!

    (5)
  • N B.

My husband and I go here at least once a week. The prices are totally reasonable and the food is great! The chips are from La Tolteca (awesome) and the salsa is yummy and a very consistent flavor every time we visit. When we ask for any changes like getting a normal burrito and asking for it wet, with beans and rice, they never charge additional for the additions. That's pretty awesome! We usually share a combo and my husband gets a drink and we leave there for about $15 and that includes a generous tip.

    (5)
  • Alley H.

Despite the numerous bad reviews, I'm giving Maria's 4 stars because I like the low key atmosphere. The lady who serves us is laid back and you can tell she's been there for years. It's better than having a waitress breathing down my back every 2 minutes pressuring me to order something, or being fake nice to earn a bigger tip. As far the food goes, I've eaten here many times and never had a problem. I usually order the combo plate: 2 enchiladas, beans, and rice.

    (4)
  • Harry S.

I have traveled all over the U.S. And with out any doubt this is the best Mexican food I have ever had. The salsa alone is worth the trip (I live in San Diego) I mAke it a point to come here whenever I can. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone that is looking for mexican food. The menu hasn't changed much in the 25years I have been going that says a lot about a restaurant!!!!

    (5)
  • Mitch S.

I eat here 2-3 times a week my daughter is a picky eater but cant get enough of the beans and rice thank you for such good service and great food.

    (5)
  • Ellie P.

It's pretty average all around: food, service, portion size, atmosphere. There are at least 3 better Mexican restaurants within a mile. The best reason I can think of to eat here is if you need to do some grocery shopping at Vons and you want to only make one stop.

    (3)
  • Ron L.

Workers act like they don't know each other.. Sloooooow service..... felt like I was stopped in time... Ate those bland dried up beans... Next day it was like a motorboat putting around.. And what do you do with rice... that could be mistaken for minced pebbles.. And a tortilla so hard and dried up.. That a turtle could use it for his turtle shell... And a soda with no refills.. Well the refills coulda happened... But where are the workers.. But they managed to toss the bill on the table When I went to use the restroom... I shoulda flushed that down the toilet too....

    (1)
  • Stella F.

I have been coming to Maria's for 25 years. The food is always served hot and seasoned very well. The chile verde is "to die for". Homemade chips, tacos and Ty mole are great. They still used crushed ice in the drinks! Best Mexican food in town.

    (5)
  • Donald S.

Had not eaten here in a long time. I guess I forgot why that was the case. Food was mediocre and overpriced for what it was. Service was friendly but not very attentive. I guess I will continue heading to Sergio's for my Mexican food desires.

  • Ben D.

We just moved in the area and we wanted to try a good Mexican restaurant. We saw the crowds at Maria's and thought this place has to be good. The spots decor was decent but I don't really care how it looks if the food is solid. I started off with albondigas and it was just okay. I like my albondigas with veggies along with the meatballs but this soup was mostly just broth. I ordered the Asada burrito and it was really just average. Nothing to brag about. My ol lady got the combo chili rellenos and enchilada. The rellenos were canned which is now the norm and the coating was good. The enchilada was below average. Well that's it. I would have rated it two and a half but I couldn't do that. Hope this helps.

  • Pam S.

i'm giving this place 3 stars because my in-laws and daughter LOVE this place. I think this is where my Mom-in-law gets her Salsa and sometime maybe her enchilada sauce. Which... for the record, I LOVE!! We came her the other night after seeing my sissy-in-law newest bundle of Joy at the hospital near by. I ordered a Tamal and Little Bit had Quesadilla and Albondigas Soup. I was not happy with my Tamal it taste and looked like the kind you get out of the can ={ but Little Bit was happy with hers and I must mention that we came about 30 minutes before closing (shrugging shoulders) so maybe that was it. Ice cold Modelo beer ahhhhh refreshing on a night where 9:00pm the temp is still 80 something. Service was pleasant and we ran into our Aunt Debbie while there. I TOLD YOU this place is a staple with my in-laws and family. LOL So i'll have to give it another try on some other occasion. Respectfully Reviewed

Some of these reviewers are trippin'. The salsa here is the best around - anyone that dogs on it is a salsa gringo. OK OK Maria's is greasy and not what it used to be. But for some reason, every time I come back to Glendora, my hometown, I NEED it.

    (4)
  • Gabrielle P.

This used to be the happening place----in the 6th grade. No hating on Maria's. It's nothing fancy. Standard staples of Mexican food can be found here. Taquitos, flautas, enchiladas, and such. Most everything ranges from mediocre--good, HOWEVER, I think the sour cream dressing is worth a try alongside the complimentary chips and salsa. Ranch-meets-sour-cream creamy goodness for an extra $1.80 to add a cool kick to your chips. Usually come here for a quick lunch or dinner to catch up with a friend. Quick and friendly service, AND they have Taco Bell ice (the best kind).

    (3)
  • Christy T.

Ordered the flautas- really good. Chips and salsa was good as well. The service was a bummer- not good

  • Charlene S.

Love love love!!!! I have been coming here over 20 years, I came with my family as a kid and now when even in glendora I had to make a stop. Their tacos are great, I always order a pint of salsa to go. They did switch their chips out but you can ask for the old school home made ones. Love the staff as well, always remember my family and I. My only wish is that they added cc card instead of ATM it is a hassle paying fee or having to bring cash.

    (5)
  • Claudia T.

Horrible horribleeee customer service. The cashier was the rudest person I've met. First of all, this a restaurant that has an ATM machine at the register making it seem like they "accept credit cards" but they CHARGE you to use it while your bank charging you to use this also! So overall, it cost me $6 just to swipe my card here. Ive never been to a restaurant with such a thing. After waiting FOREVER for the food to come out, what do you know! The food was nothing over the top and definitely over priced for the small portions they give you. I don't know what the hype is about AT ALL.

I have lived in Nor Cal for the last 20+ yrs but grew up in Azusa...every time I come back to So Cal I always eat @ Maria's. It's a family owned business handed down from Gabe's grandparent's...Iget nothing but the best treatment from the employees @ Maria's...I have my own business and know how tough it is to make every single person "happy"...but it's always the best experience when I'm in Maria's Keep up the good work.! Discovered Maria's around one year ago and have been a fan since. From my first visit I was impressed with the staff and quality of food. The Salsa is the best around and prices are real average of similar places in the area. After learning some history on the Restaurant and its numerous 30 + years in the same area that speaks for itself. For a good, healthy, quick and reasonable lunch try the Maria's Bowl YUM!!

    (5)
  • Lena B.

The food is road kill, I don't understand how anyone can eat here! The salsa tastes like canned tomato sauce.

    (1)
  • Ryan G.

Really awful service is a major issue. This is the kind of Mexican food that white people think Mexican food is suppose to be. Anyway there are a million places like this. Despite this we still go there sometimes and have for years. However it has simply gotten too expensive and there are just much better places out there. Maria's was the place for a long time but those days are past.

    (2)
  • Daniela K.

Worst Mexican food in local area. It's hard to believe they have been in business since 1968!

    (1)
  • V T.

Horrible service. Rudest cashier I have EVER encountered in my life. Very insulting and rude. My bank hates them too. They don't accept credit cards, so you have to withdraw from a unauthorized ATM machine to pay for your meal. The machine charged a $1.50 service fee and my bank charged me a $3 penalty. Never again.

    (1)
  • AJ R.

Really? This perhaps is the only Mexican restaurant I've ever been to where the food lacks flavor. The food taste like....NOTHING. I mean really. Enough said.

    (1)
  • Stacey G.

I've been coming here with my family my entire life and the quality has never changed throughout the years. It is family owned, and they always remember us when we come to visit...how awesome is that? Their sour cream dressing is also the most amazing dip for chips!

    (5)
  • Robyn B.

As a poor college student Maria's is the best place ever!!! Cheap and good Mexican food. Me and my friends love coming here and now that we've moved about 20 minutes away we still make the drive to eat at Maria's.

    (5)
  • Farynn S.

Love the food but don't care for the seating. The service is ok but not my favorite. They could check on they're tables more often then paying most attention to they're regulars. Basic skills lacking, for exmple: no spoon given when served coffee.

I heard about this place a few months ago and decided to give it a try. I called in for an order so it would be ready for me to pick it up when I got there. I waited 20 minutes or so and went in; and it was an experience I'll never forget. The cashier was one of the most rude, most unprofessional women I've ever interacted with in my life. When asked to explain the credit card charges, she was so shocked by my question, she asked, "What don't you get?" Fine, I'll look past that. My total was 13 dollars, and she made me withdraw 20 dollars to pay for it. So basically their "accepting credit cards" is just an ATM machine. My bank charged me extra by the way for paying for it this way. Fine, I'll look past that. The meal I ordered wasn't ready so I had to wait. Don't know why I bothered to call in. Fine, I'll look past that. When I finally got my meal, I decided to stay in and eat at the restaurant because I was too late for the movie I was planning on seeing after. And for that I got a "You can't do that next time, you have to eat it outside if you phone in an order". And that is where I couldn't look past it anymore. For a mediocre meal, that was overpriced, and an unbelievably rude employee, there are literally hundreds of other options in the area. Skip this place and don't give them your money.

There's a reason 4 generations of my family have been enjoying Maria's. The service is great and the food is fantastic, especially the tacos! A family favorite is the 3 T's. The beans and rice are also delicious. Whenever I'm in Glendora or even passing by on the freeway, I make a point of stopping at Maria's.

The absolute WORST mexican food I have eaten in a LONG time! If I could, I would give them negative stars. My husband and I pass by this place quite often, and we would notice there was always people inside. We decided to give it a try tonight. Ughh! What are these people thinking!?! Do they not know what Mexican food is supposed to taste like? First of all, the chips and salsa tasted store bought. I ordered the relleno and chile verde burrito plate, while my husband ordered the cheese and chicken burrito plate. The waitress asked us if we wanted mole sauce and cheese on top, so we said yes. Not until the bill came did we discover that they charge $1.30 extra for each plate for that tasteless "enchilada mole" sauce. I have NEVER been to a Mexican restaurant where they charge extra to make the burrito wet, and it was so NOT worth it. We both started with a salad. The only salad dressings to choose from were their "special" sour cream dressing or italian. We both opted to try their "special" dressing. The salad was all iceberg lettuce with one small wedge of tomato. The dressing was the most tasteless thing I had. Seriously, no tang like I would expect from sour cream, but just blah. I took two bites and decided it wasn't worth the calories. When our plates arrived, we noticed that the rice was hard and the refried beans tasted old. Both meat in the chicken burrito and chile verde burrito were very dry. My chile relleno was still soaking in grease. I couldn't eat the outside batter because it was too disgusting, so I just at the chile and cheese. There was nothing fresh tasting on either of our plates. We were not nearly done with our meal when the waitress put the check down on our table. I find that any restaurant that practices giving the bill to the customer before the service is over to be extremely rude, but that's the least of Maria's problems. People that have rated this place anything above 2 stars MUST be related to the owners. Come on people of Glendora! There's much better Mexican food out there! In fact, just drive 5 miles east on Route 66 to Mauricio's. Mauricio's will show you what authentic Mexican food is! Just don't waste your time and especially your money on Maria's.

  • Bethany B.

YUMMY!! Love the food. i ordered the cheese enchilada and taco plate. The beans were really good, not sure where others are saying they were dry. The rice was perfect. The service was great. A young guy helped us and was very polite and very attentive. May go back again tonight. Or I kinda wanna be lazy in my bed clothes,so I may get it to go........

  • Josh H.

I was deprived of good Mexican food as a kid, so I love just about any Mexican food that touches my mouth. Maria's delivers in this regard. The food is prepared quickly and the chips and salsa are terrific. The chips are made fresh at La Tolteca and the salsa stands out as one of the most garlicy salsas I have every had. Don't eat the salsa if you are on a date or headed into a job interview as no amount of gum or toothpaste will mask the garlic (only time, my friend, only time....) I noticed a few reviews about the horrible service. If you go in expecting a chain-restaurant-like service, you will be disappointment. If you go in expecting a family style type of service, you will not be disappointed. This is a family run business, not an El Pollo Loco.

Horrible Service I've walked into this place twice - both times I am seated and then not one person returns to the table, at least 20 minutes have gone by, both times! So I leave. The one time I did come in here (with family) the food was bland, full of too much cheese and forgettable. I don't know how they stay in business... I guess enough locals around who don't know any better.

I have a 43 year love affair with this restaurant. It started at Pepe's and moved on to Maria's. Thank God they kept the guitar painting done by their Uncle. Everybody has their last meal and I think mine would probably come from here. I would load up on the salsa, inflaming my lips and sinus passages in mano to mano pleasure, than smother everything else in guacamole, including their beef enchiladas. Greasy, yes; diverse and representative of real Mexican; no. But I would be hard pressed to tell you of another taste that reminds me of my youth. You can't put a price on that sensation, so I will keep coming here until my dying day.

Nostalgia, is over. I've always thought this place was slow, but our recent trip was astonishing. The place was full of flies. We went before the dinner rush, the woman serving was extremely slow. She didn't write down our order, so when we asked for the check, she ignored us for 15 minutes. We went up to the cash register, and she knew we were there, but instead, had chosen to prepare an order for the next day with a woman, and was busy arguing with her about how to pay. It was a big order, and the lady wanted to put a $100 deposit, but the server had to argue with her first, about how much the taxes would be. We asked another server for help, but server #1 would not let her help us! Server #2 had to stand there, straightening menus in a pile. Then server #1 told us she'd help us after she gave people their hot food. Again, not letting server #2 help. At that point it seemed like she was on some sort of little power trip about running the place and everyone better back off while she does things her way. Because they don't make paper or electronic records, she had to try to figure out what we ordered, add it up on a scratch paper and finally we got to pay. $2 extra for a side salad of lettuce which is a few pieces of partly stale iceberg, with a plop of straight sour cream and one tomato slice. $11 for the $6 Chimichanga special, because apparently its extra for rice and beans. The Chimichanga was okay (everything here is bland), but if I ever ate here again, I'd order it a day in advance, and prepare to wait a half an hour to pick it up. This place is substituting for Taco Bell while they are under renovation, when you want some quick mediocre Mexican food, except expect to spend an hour on logistics alone.

Maria's was a place I've never been until I met my Hubby. Thank goodness I met him or else I would of never found maria's. The hospitality is great and the food is AMAZING! I would definitely recommend this place to everyone!!!

  • Becca P.

Expensive and servers are rude. This place is terrible. This is the most over priced mediocre Mexican food that I have come across. Let's just say that the people who frequent the place are a little less than "authentic". . . if you catch my drift. The most rude and slow service out there. They treat their customers like garbage. I hope this place goes out of business.

Maria's is one of the friendliest restaurants in Glendora and has always provided great food to our community. The staff is friendly and the food has always been consistent and high quality. If you grew up here you love it and if you are new to the area, I hope you give it a shot. I recommend almost everything on the menu and would suggest getting the burritos wet style with the sauce and cheese melted on top.

Call me a blasphemous heathen, but the chicken tacos here are better than La Tolteca. 'Nuff said.

Can someone tell me how long this place has been opened? I have lived in Glendora for like 7 or 8 years and I have never been here before today. This place is pretty good for a restaurant in Glendora, this is no top notch mexican restaurant but its pretty tasty. Their chicken flautas are soo good - crisp and flaky. I love their beans because they put lots of cheese on top of them. Their salads is different - lettuce with a huge chunk of sour cream type topping. They have my favorite ice - small round pieces of ice. Sucky part is that they really don't take debit/visa cards. They have a machine that you can take a denomination out but it charges you a $1.50.

  • Rick H.

I don't get this place - it's expensive, the food is greasy and bland, and yet there's a wait every night! The only thing I can think of why people go here is that they've been coming here for years and don't want to try anything new. Blech.

I love this place! I have been coming here for years. I could eat their chips and salsa everyday. Price is right and food is good. My only negative is that sometimes they get so busy, the wait staff can take a long time.

Ate there once, won't go back!! If you want great Mexican food, everybody knows you go to East Los Angeles not Glendora!!

I love this place! I have been coming here since I was basically born. The chips are really good and the salsa varies on spiciness from day to day because it's homemade. I've tried just about everything on the menu and I haven't tried anything I don't like. My favorites are the salad, tamales, chile rellenos, cheese enchiladas and cheese quesadillas. The chile rellenos are pretty greasy but honestly who is looking for healthy mexican food? They serve the meals with rice and beans with cheese melted on top. Whenever I come here I get a side of the sour cream dressing to dip the chips in with the salsa and I basically put the dressing on everything including my relleno, tamale or enchilada. The wait is usually pretty long at peak lunch and dinner hours so I would suggest going here for a late lunch. The service is not always the best but the restaurant is pretty small so you can get the attention of someone who works there if you need to order or get a refill. There is a large table here if you have a bigger party and they usually let you sit where you want to if it's not busy.

Um, no. Waitress was sweet but the taquitos were bland and DRY as all get out..very "cheap" tasting. The rice is generic and the beans are ok..I wouldn't bother.

I wish I could give this place no stars, it's not even true Mexican food. Their shredded beef is ground beef with BS taco flavoring. They have the worst service here ever, the servers are so rude.

I have been going to the same restaurant in La Puente since I was about 5 and NEVER found a place that served as good mexican food...until I ate at Marias! I honestly was so surprised when I ate there. Its a small SMALL restaurant (they really should expand) that

We have been going to Maria's since it was Pepe's. We've never been served a bad meal. We also like the family atmosphere that they offer. You don't get that kind of service from some of the other restaurants. They always have a friendly smile and a warm hello. Love the food, the chips and the salsa!

Love the chips and salsa. Food is good and very inexpensive. Small town feel. Very nice people.

This is a great restaurant! The food is good, and the prices are reasonable; an excellent choice for both lunch or dinner. My favorite menu item is the beef taco. Tacos are about $3 each. The [beef] tacos come with lettuce, cheese, and a large slice of tomato -- which is a nice touch. You can also opt for the 2 Taco platter, which is about $10. The platter comes with rice and beans. I also like the Carne Asada taco, which is also about $3. The service here has always been very good! My only complaint about Maria's is that the restaurant closes early in the evening (about 8:30 PM). Additional Notes: - Cash Only.

My 3rd time here. I won't go back. Don't understand how anyone can say the food is good. Dry, tastless, many places are better...Taco Bell is better. Yes, they always have a crowd but why? Service has been horriffic every time I've been there. Now prices are higher and way too high for the quality of the food. 75 cents extra for cheese on my burrito??? 75 cents for a refill of horchata? No thank you....I'll take my business elsewhere and would advise anyone else to do the same.

Mehh... Enchiladas tasted like they had been sitting out all day. Tougher than ... uhh.. tough stuff! Rice and beans had texture of being way past freshness too. Plus the prices have sky rocketed tremendously! Why am I paying $10+ for a '2 combo plate' here (and San Dimas) when I can drive a few citiies down the way, pay between $7-$9 a combo plate and it is so much better. Sorry Maria's, I still love your salad though :)

Had a bean & cheese burrito and a cheese enchilada. Burrito was great. The enchilada tasted as if it had been sitting in a pan for a while, just waiting for someone to order it. Had a lot of sauce. To cover the old stale taste??? Don't get me wrong, I have been here numerous times, but this was the worst experience. Usually, it is a great place to eat.

We visited this restaurant because of a rave review from a classmate, but were completely disappointed. The food was bland and overloaded in yellow cheese (the cardinal sin of the Americanized Mexican restaurants IMO). It wasn't memorable at all, and not a place I would return to. I honestly don't know why someone would love the food here.

If you live in Glendora you already undoubably know, but Maria's rocks! You get consistently great, friendly service and you always know what to expect when you order. No suprises, just good food. It seems only to get better the more you eat it. Strange...

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
