Quite impressed with WaBa Grill! I ordered the Chicken & Veggie bowl with brown rice and it tasted fresh, and surprisingly the brown rice wasn't dry. The customer service was pretty good. The portions of meat/veggie/rice were good. My bowl was pretty stuffed and hard to mix around everything, but that's a good sign because you're given so much food! If only WaBa Grill expanded out of southern California and opened locations in the BAY!

Not that great. I got a chicken and veggie bowl and the chicken didn't have much flavor and the broccoli wasn't good. My brother told me that the chili sauce was bad so I didn't bother trying it. The most surprising thing to me how the teriyaki sauce was bland. Teriyaki sauce is the cornerstone of this kind of business so that should be great, yet unfortunately WaBa's was far from it. I prefer Fuji Grill.

Pretty good for the price, not amazing but if you're in a hurry, its a great place to go.

This is by far the best waba I've been to. It is always consistent with the way they cook their chicken and it's very good.

I love wabA but this location is cheap as hell. Gives half the amount of food as the lake forest location..they pack so much meat that you can barely cap it. This place location was sooo disappointing. And the steak was fattier and also didn't come out hot. It was luke warm

WABAFETT. Waba the hut. haha okay I just wanted a creative introduction. This place is the same style as flame broilers with some SLIGHT differences. The overall place is Waba-fied. I feel like I'm going to create a new language saying Waba it up. The quantity and quality of the chicken bowl was like really good. Good enough to get a 4 stars...WHY?!?! because for the cheap $5 and some cents it was pretty Waba good. If, however, the price was higher, this place may have gotten a 2 or 3 stars since it was not THAT Waba good. Parking lot may be full and packed due to other stores surrounding it and a starbucks in the same plaza. I must say doe, this place is waba fast from the time you come in to the time you leave with food.

Finally found a place where i can have a good tasting teriyaki beef bowl and top it with avocado. Awwwwww Yissssss Obv this place has lots in common with flame broiler, and yeah the beef might not be as healthy because it comes in plenty of delicious savory teri sauce. But oh well, its tasty & I like it and the "beef" offered at flame broiler is awful. It's all simple stuff but they do it right, beef & chicken cooked right, moist & flavorful, rice is steamed well without being hard or mushy. Plus the offering of veggies & avocado is a big win. Definitely on my list of quick eats.

Ive been coming to this waba grill for over 5 years since it opened its been the same fast, prompt, great service. Its very consistent. This place is always on point when u go in ur greeted with friendly hello's, when you order simple things on the menu it literally gets to u within 3 minutes ... Its tasty, healthy and fullfilling. You wont feel guilty after eating it like you would say a cheesburger lol, overall this is a well rounded restaurant im glade to see there doing well its pretty busy everytime i stop by thats a good sign means the food and service are awesome. Im also happy to see the cashier brianna is back working at this store she is super nice and always has a smile on, its welcoming from start to finish... Keep up the great work guys :)

If you never been here its compatible to Flame broiler. If in a rush and looking for something healthy I always get the chicken bowl and brown rice or the half and half bowl with brown rice. These guys are very quick haven't had to wait over 5 mins for my food. In fact by the time I'm done filling up my teriyaki sauce its ready for pick-up. Clean place. Always seating. Gets busy during lunch time. I try to go here about once a week. PROTEIN and CARBS.

We LOVE WaBA! We have not found a place that compares to the taste of your food! It's so good and it's healthy, too! We only hope that this location stays open and perhaps one opens up closer to home for us. Especially loving the specials! We got two Waba chicken bowls for $9 today! Now that keeps us coming back more often! Thank you! Also, noted that you switched over from allowing the customers to serve themselves the teriyaki sauce in little containers to handing out the packets! I hope this is more cost effective for you.

Better than Flame Broiler, and Flame Broiler is pretty good. Guy working the counter was super polite. The house hot sauce isn't my favorite but I do like the Louisiana style they keep in the squeeze bottles.

Most definately the best teriyaki franchise ive been to. Have been coming here for the past 3 years and their food always tastes so fresh. Their meat is very tender and seasoned perfectly. Their staffs are all very friendly and the store is nice and clean. I would give them more than 5 stars if i can ;)

Waba is legit. Consistently on point and reasonably priced. I've tried the whole menu. This Will guy below- factor in labor, food, cost and quite frankly quality. How are you going to keep a restaurant open in OC with $3.50/ plate GTFOH

Well I went there for lunch. I was not really happy with their portion size. It was really small and food was okay too

My friend and I have this routine where we eat a teriyaki bowl for lunch on Monday. We've been doing this for years and years and years. Because of this we notice when a place takes a turn for the worse. First we were hooked on Flame Broiler but after awhile the locations near our work started serving gristly beef and chicken full of cartilage and gristle. Blech! So we moved on to Yogi's which was frickin' fantastic until a few months ago where they served us moldy food along with frozen wilted onions and raw sewage gasses. Even further back in time we used to frequent Happy Teriyaki and Super Teriyaki which also went the way of the crapper. Waba Grill is our new Teriyaki place along with Golden Bowl sprinkled in every once in awhile. They call their beef bowls "steak" bowls which I thought was gimmicky at first but there is definitely a high quality rich beefy taste to their meat which I think sets them apart from other teriyaki places. On my two visits the first one had some gristle but the second time had zero. Same with the chicken, had a bit of gristle but it was pretty good overall. Chicken was cooked perfectly without being dried out. The steamed veggies are your typical cabbage, carrots and broccoli. They also have pickled carrots and jalapenos to toss onto the bowl. The teriyaki sauce here tastes great and I love their hot sauce. Kimchi here is a rip off. For $1.80 you get this teeny tiny itty bitty single serving jar of it. It's definitely fermented in the jar though because when I opened the jar it made such a loud pop noise my friend and I both flew out of our seats. It tasted alright but not worth the price. So far so good. I enjoy this teriyaki place and will return! Hopefully they stay true to quality and do not start cutting corners like the competition does. My Yogi's Dukedom is up for grabs since I'll never step foot in there again.

Hey, girl working the cash register- normal human behavior is to say hi when someone smiles and says hi to you. And maintains eye contact while you still resist. Having a bad day? Hate your job? Ask to switch with someone in the kitchen. I'm sure they'd be happy to. Anyway, despite all that, the food here is pretty f'n amazing. Nice white meat chicken, fluffy (ohhh I love that word!) white rice, and tasty beef bits on the .5/.5 bowl. Something about the sauce... It's just so good. Nice and sweet and pleasant. But if you're a fire-mouth, you will probably have to add chili sauce or peppers something. Salmon plate is surprisingly good for a quick-service place. Flame Broiler had better step up it's game!

Very high prices for food not worth it. All their plates and bowls are worth about $3.50 that's all. Not $ 8.00 People if we stop paying they will get the message.

Waba Grill is another one of those places that serve up bowls of rice with assorted cooked meats. Simple, filing, and delicious. It's one of those things you can eat a lot. I used to eat a lot of bowls when I was in college but now I rarely eat one but that doesn't mean I don't get the craving for one once in awhile. My boyfriend and I came here to satisfy my craving but once I was here, I decided to go with a plate instead. We ordered the Chicken Plate and the Salmon Plate. Both plates came with a nice serving of rice and salad with some sort of Asian dressing that wasn't that good. The chicken had good flavor though and wasn't overcooked. I enjoyed that but I found the salmon to be a little bit over. I wasn't expect great fish though in the first place. I'm not sure if I would choose this place over the other teriyaki bowl places. It's nothing special and I think I would stick to Flame Broiler. 3/5

Clean inexpensive and really good overall. Veggies were fresh and everything tasted good. WAY better than flame broiler. Actually...please don't even compare. I also like the jalapeno. That's a great bonus.

Love the weekly coupons that I receive from this place. Get my chicken bowls with brown rice. Always tender and juicy chicken with nicely steamed veggies. Love that they don't drench their bowls with sauce rather a slight drizzle and they have more on the counter. A tv is always on ESPN for you sports fanatics. Nice, well lit and clean place. Always stop by here after yoga class.

Many mentioned and compared Waba Grill to Flame Broiler. It definitely is a strong competitor. It has many similar menu items, so I'll list the differences. 1. Option for avocados on your bowl or plate (an extra $1.50) 2. Salmon bowls are available. 3. They have their own private label for sriracha sauce! And of course Cajun hot sauce (vinegar based). Flame Broiler needs to step up and provide sriracha. Their sriracha, it's not the bottle with the green cap and rooster logo as we're all accustomed to seeing. Waba's sriracha has a bit more tang and acidity, yet still can pack a spicy punch to the mouth. 4. Their bowls are much wider so it's more convenient to navigate and dictate which half of the bowl you're going to eat first instead of the usual going for the the top of the bowl. At Flame Broiler, the bowl sizes are narrow and I have to start with the top and work my way down and in the process, green onions and chicken usually falls on the side of the bowl. Pricing Plates: 1. Chicken/Steak $7.49 2. Chicken $6.99 3. Steak 7.39 4. Salmon $8.49 Plates comes with a side of salad and orange slices. I usually substitute the orange slices for an extra side of salad for 0.30 cents. Not too bad. Salad is the usual greens with their Waba's house dressing. Dressing is sweet and sour. Think Italian but sweeter. Bowls: 1. Chicken $4.99 2. Steak $5.59 3. Chicken/Steak $5.79 4. Salmon $6.39 Service is friendly and if you need bigger containers for the sauces, you can request them at the front counter. I also love the fact they have jalapenos and carrots always ready for me with Ziploc bags on the side. Great for jalapeno lovers!

I love this restaurant. Meats are always juicy and salads are always fresh. I usually get the chicken and steak plate with avocado. Serivce and food never dissapoint. I will frequent tbis place a lot more because im getting older and must start to eat healthy.

I used to be a Flame Broiler fan until I came here. I like the steak bowl. The meat is well seasoned and tender. Most importantly, it is not dry at all. I have never had burnt or over cooked meat here. Occasionally, I have the salad. However, I hate their salad dressings. They really don't have a low fat option. The portion sizes are generous. Sometimes, I share a bowl. There are frequently coupons in the mail for the frugal.

This place is awesome! Wabagrill is the same concept as flame broiler! The staff is nice and the service is great! I like going during lunch. Fresh chicken, veggies and rice! Always! Can't complain! I'll be back soon.

i ordered veggie bowl w. half chicken half beef no rice. the teriyaki & spicy sauce are better than any other teriyaki place. they didnt put alot of meat though, mostly veggies. almost $8. it tasted healthy, fresh & good quality meat, but teriyaki places are a real rip off with how they skimp out on so much meat!

Another one of those Flame Broiler clones that seems to do pretty well with a more modern approach on the decor. I personally prefer this place over the Flame Broiler down the street on Commonwealth just because they seem to give a little more meat then that location and the bowls here are much easier to work around. Not sure why people really complain about the limited menu, I mean it's just very straight forward healthy and filling, food what else do you really want? Besides the usual steak/chicken, shrimp, salmon, and ribs are available. Always greeted with a friendly "Hello, how are you doing today?" whenever I arrive and a "Bye! Thank you for coming!" whenever I leave, which is always a great touch when you are energetic about it.

I was looking to feed a high school football team and needed good, nutritious food for them. With less than 24 hours notice Waba Grill made it happen. The food was fresh, tasted great and the players, coaches and staff loved it! I ordered 130 chicken/veggie individual bowls and they provided all the sides (onions, jalapenos, sauces) with no extra charge. Howard was great to work with. I will definitely call them again. I just wish they could have delivered, but I understand my order was during the lunch rush too. Thank you Howard and Team!

Always a good meal BUT you guys gotta check your cups or ice. Every time I get a refill when you take a drink either the cup or ice smells funky and like mildew.

Excellent place! Best teriyaki chicken I've ever had! I ordered the half-half bowl (or something along those lines), and it was a great mixture. I like how they give tons of rice too, and overall, the portions of everything was perfect. I hate going to places like Yoshinoya, for example, where they give tons of meat but hardly any rice.. or vice versa. This place made their rice bowls just right. It was awfully packed by 12PM or so when I came, so I took this "to-go" instead.

Love the food, very delicious! Much better/tastier than Flame Broiler (the Flame Broiler's I've been to have burnt chicken 50/50). Each time I've been to Waba the employees are friendly and the food is always fresh! Plus the service is quick :) love em!

Been a fan of Waba since it opened. Moved to the IE and was glad to see one being built right by the house. It was not as good as the Fullerton location. Moved back to Fullerton and went to try it again and it was so good. The counter girl Courtney was so sweet and friendly, I will be back.

I love this place. I love how they give a salad and the dressing is amazing!! There is always a right amount of rice and chicken!! I decided to try this place when it first opened and i was surprise on how amazing it was because ive never seen a waba grill before. The Teriyaki sauce is amazing!

this place is gross..the bowl tasted like a microwavable dinner. every piece of meat had fat on it when you walk into a place and they are empty that sometimes is a clue...

Came here to grab a quick dinner for 2go today. I stopped here after reading the reviews on yelp, many said its better than flame boiler and gives more portion. And also the place is clean. I agree that this place is really nice and spacious and clean. But on a personal level, I didn't enjoy the food that much. I got their beef steak bowl + extra meat. First thing i noticed when I got home was..... did they really put the extra meat in there?...cause it seems like a normal portion for a bowl? .... I should have just gotten their "plate" combo instead, if adding extra meat to a bowl isn't very noticeable? .... The 2nd thing I didn't like is the taste, its very Americanized and taste pretty similar to flame boiler. What i didn't like is the teriyaki sauce drizzled all over the bowl. REAL teriyaki does not taste like this at all, this is what Americans are really used to for teriyaki. I think for a standard customers who likes Flame Boiler, this place could easily score a 3 or 4 star rating, but for me.... it just doesn't cut it. I would not drive out of the way for this place, and even if I do, I'd rather drive a little further to Golden Bowl near Knotts Berry Farm; their meat taste better (better grilled bbq flavor) and they don't cover their bowl with the terriyaki sauce.

Absolutely love the food here! I have to say this place is way better than Flame broiler in so many ways the food tastes better and they have so many options. Love to get the chicken with veggies the bowls are a great portion and for a good price. Love that you can sub the white rice for brown rice and add avocado to your meal. Definitely a delicious healthy meal!

This location is my favorite Waba Grill. I usually come here to grab a quick healthy meal. They use no oil or msg, and everything is cooked to order. The chicken was cooked just right (not over cooked or burnt); their teriyaki sauce is great, and their vegetables were fresh. They also added fresh green onion on top. That's my kind of extra topping!! Extra teriyaki sauce waba chilli sauce is available for free. The bowl itself doesn't look big, but I always get full from it. Huge plus for me is that they always have either ESPN or Sports games On their TV. Staff is friendly, place is clean.

I LOVE WABA GRILL!! Definitely the best teriyaki franchise in town. Their hot sause is as good as king taco's red sauce!!

We have a ton of these rice bowl places around orange county now, but this is my favorite. The chicken and veggie bowl is the best. Salmon can be a little on the fishy side so I don't order that anymore. The interior including the restroom is always clean and tidy.

Great flavor for a teriyaki place. My only complaint is the meat or chicken portion size is a bit small compared to the rice. Sauces are great-check it out!

This one smells funny when you walk inside. This types of places always leave me with more to be desired. its meat with veggies and rice. Meh.

Better than Flame Broiler. They give more meat and they have jalapeno carrots. I would definitely come here again :)

Pretty standard affair. With Flame Broiler right down the street, it's tough to justify Waba. I feel "teriyaki shacks" should be rated a bit differently if not a bit more liberal. Certainly not fine dining, it's a healthy alternative the typical fast food gauntlet. Basing this comparison on the chicken bowl solely, Waba comes in at a marginal C+. White rice, chicken pieces slightly larger than the Flame Broiler and 3/4's the portion. Not horrible, just underwhelming. They do have a great deal(at this review time), 2 chicken bowls for $7. That's a pretty nice deal and I admit we stop through on occassion mid-week when ends are low or we just don't want to cook. They offer sauce on the side including a Sriracha style version hot. Worth a try for lunch. -CC accepted- -Green onion on request- -NW side in Fresh n' Easy, T-Mobile Lot-

Foods is good not great. The white rice was not sticky enough. Clean and prompt service. I tried the Beef Bowl.

Before I heard of this place, I would drive further up the street to pick up lunch at Flame Broiler because I like to eat healthy and that's their claim but Waba just takes the cake. More selection. Better taste. A little more expensive but not by much and what I save with the distance and make up with in variety, I'll be frequenting this place quite a bit. In less than 10 days I've been there 4 times already.

In the genre of fast commercialized authentic teriyaki Waba Grill will takes its place next to the Flame Broilers & the Mom & Pops. Like a Green onion this place is clean and presentable. Thier food has a smooth savory consistency with a sodium elevation at times. Today I had their beef bowl. The white rice was like any standard teriyaki place. The beef was good and the sauce on top of it was a mix of sweet and tangy. The food tasted lean and not greasy but I could sense the sodium in it. If you like green onions try thier bowls and go with the green onion option, they give you more onions than flame broiler. Thier bowls are about six bucks and plates around seven but the meals are satisfying. Ease of access, right by the 91 and 5 on Euclid & Orangethorpe and near in vicinity of the Mid-West Fullerton shopping areas. Parking is a breeze and the service is acceptable. The inside has plenty of seating with a nice decor for small teriyaki house and a big screen with the laker game on for the youth. A tip for cheapskates: if you order thier bowls you can keep the bowl, wash it and reuse it, it is sturdy, bowl shaped and made of plastic. I think I may just keep this strong thick black plastic fork too. Waba Grill, come for the taste, come back for more plates and forks.

Great Flame Broiler alternative. Everything is always fresh & tasty! Restaurant is also clean and easily accessible with plenty of parking.

If you want to eat really healthy, go here and order the meat without sauce. Get brown rice or substitute rice with steamed vegetables. Healthy! Hard to find true healthy foods these days that still tastes good. But also note that the beef is pre-marinated so that could be slightly unhealthy.

used a groupon. we had $20 but could barely order enough. what i ate: - salmon plate: got it with brown rice. came with a nice side of salad with asian dressing. the salmon was pretty cooked, but tasty. topped with fresh green onions - chicken salad: the chicken was dry. sad. pros: - healthy - teriyaki had good flavor - brown rice option available for $0.80 more - clean cons: - limited menu, as in, you usually can only get a plate/bowl, but nothing else a la carte. a bit of a drag since we still needed like $3 to spend all of our groupon. i wished i could have gotten teriyaki shrimp a la carte or something - disappointed at dry the chicken was would i come again? eh... i think id rather go to flame broiler.

Found this by accident and my wife and I love it. She loves it because she can get white chicken meat for her rice bowl. Most places mix dark and white chicken meat. The service is fast and the food is good.

You wanna lose some weight? I'm not a certified expert, but its all about diet and excercise. In regards to diet, I have to say this is one place to go for fast food. I train jiu-jitsu and currently am trying to lose weight and Waba Grill is my number one place to go in regards for "healthy" fast food. I like this place a lot better than flame broiler, which I used to like until I had Waba Grill. The chicken bowl is only $3.99(plus tax) and I get my serving of vegetables from the free carrot jalepeno's they have on the side. You may want to substitute brown rice which I beleive is $1 extra(not sure), but its healthier. If your on a strict diet like I am I usually eat half of the bowl one hour and the next a few hours later. What's good about this place is that its fresh, fast, clean and great service, unlike its competitor Flame Broiler down the street which is dirty, and rude at times.

finally tried this place for the first time, and they're pretty good! it's kinda like flame broiler. delicious food. healthier choices. it's a good post workout meal. Be careful with their sauce though, it can kinda get high in sodium, so if you're watching out for that, just tell 'em lighten that a bit or have it on the side. besides that, the menu is pretty straight forward. oh and ask for brown rice! that's the healthy way to go!

Love this place! My aunt took me here yesterday because she went to the grand opening before that and she loved it and wanted to share it with my brother and me. The place is pretty small and in a small plaza. I wouldn't have recognized it if i was driving. Their menu is very healthy but also limited to only salmon, veggies, steak, and chicken. I would recommend the bowls because they are very filling and well priced compared to the plates which on gives you fruit and salad. I ordered the half and half bowl (half chick and half steak with rice and the option of onions) the bowl was a pretty good size. It was delicious! Wow! they also have chili sauce and more terriyaki sauce if needed. The girl who ringed me out wasn't very pleasant so I have to take away a point for that. But everything is was good! Totally recommend!! 4.5 stars!!

Like the other reviews say, typical flame broiler type of place, but I find it to be better than Flame Broiler. The FB up the street always sees to be smokey inside and their chicken always seems burnt. I have had a couple of times were I ordered the steak bowl and I can taste a hint of fish(salmon) in the steak. Nothing I can't handle and it wont keep me from coming back. If you like FB, then give this place a try, you will see why everyone is saying to come here. Usually has a basketball game on so you have something to watch while you eat

Waba Grill can pretty much be described as the wild child if Flame Broiler and Okazya had a baby lol. It's a great alternative to both listed above if you're looking for something new to try. They offer beef, chicken, and even salmon bowls so there is plenty to choose from. Personally I'm not much of a beef eater so I've only had the chicken and salmon. The chicken IMO is definitely juicier than that of Flame Broilers and less salty than Okazyas. The salmon was also pretty tasty. Cooked well so it doesn't crumble at the sight of your fork/chopstick. Both were perfectly seasoned and super delish. For those of you looking for even healthier options, they offer brown rice and vegis. Also you can get avocado added to your meal. Avocado of course which is great source of fiber and other vitamins and also good for your heart. Service is friendly and the place is clean. If you're trying to stay fit and healthy I'd recommend Waba Grill.

Being on a diet doesn't leave me many choices when I type "healthy" into yelp in orange county. This place had good reviews, and people claimed it was better than flame broiler (one of my favorites) so I had to try it. At first I was excited to see the 3.99 chicken teriyaki bowl on the outside window but realized the extras soon add up +.80 for brown rice +1.50 for avocado I think it tasted a lot healthier than flame broiler (aka bland) but then again I couldn't drench it in the extra teriyaki sauce like I usually would. I like that they have 2 different types of hot sauce (MUST have my hot sauce) a chilli one and a louisiana style one. Overall I came out satisfied and felt healthier so 4 stars for waba grill.

Got the chicken n brown rice bowl n it was prepared fast n very good plenty of teriyaki sauce available on the side great quick meal.

Omg, this place seriously kicks Flamebroiler in the face. The food is much fresher and more plentiful, the environment is cleaner and the employees friendlier. (Not to mention they don't char their steak.) I love that you can choose brown rice! Awesomeness :)
(5)
Dennis L.
Another healthy fast food chicken bowl chain, but this one may be on top for the moment. The chicken is jucier than flamebroiler but theres also an additional choice of salmon! Not a big fan of salmon unless I catch it from a wild river in Alaska but wanted to note there was another additional healthy choice. They also have brown rice, veggies, and even half an avocado if you want to add or substitute.

my bf and i love waba! it tastes sooo much better than flame broiler. flame broiler's chicken has been consistently burnt and lightly charred and i do NOT like that. -_- waba is fresher and tastier...plus i LOVE their hot sauce! this is my new favorite teriyaki place!

Always good, great deal. I get a beef bowl with double meat and onions. My kids love it too!

As far as chain fast food teriyaki houses go, the Flame Broiler and Waba Grill are the two best that I have tried so far. So comparing the two: Pros for Waba Grill: +The food is overall healthier than the Flame Broiler +A nicer and cleaner place to eat +Faster service +Good parking Cons for Waba Grill: -Flame Broiler tastes a bit better -A bit more expensive -Employees are not attentive, they just go through the motions
(3)
Chris S.
Food for cost in my opinion is poor. There were only 1 other customer in store and it took a long time to receive order. Steak and chicken plate was ok. The steak was the better part of the of the plate. Menu is a bit boring. I agree with Dan C. Employees were not attentive at all. I could have ordered 4 steak bowls for the cost of the 2 drinks and chicken and steak plate and had more food for less.
(2)

Make no mistake when you walk in, this is feels like a fast food place. You go up to a counter to order, the food shows up quick, and you have to self serve your own soda. The service is exactly what you expect (I'm waiting for the phrase, "Would you like fries with that order?") They have big posters of food choices. And of course, the order by number. (I'll take value meal #8, please.) However, the food is not fast food. Its better! I ordered the salmon plate with brown rice. Their salmon is cooked just right, not over cooked. The teriyaki sauce was fien. Tangy, salty and sweet. The green onions are fresh, crunchy and a highlight (but you must love green onions.) The brown rice is brown rice. There's just not much to say about rice except that its healthy. Tastes like it too! The salad has a crunch, and they are generous on the dressing. Overall, this place is a great alternative to the fast food meal. You get a fast food price, but real food taste.

Awesome good food. Better than flame broiler. Chicken and beef are both good and they also have salmon and shrimp. Food is made when ordered and fresh. will come again for sure.

The place is decent. There are several options to choose from. They are a bit pricey, but it's still delicious. I had the Teriyaki chicken rice/veggie

I go here several times a month, since I work pretty close. The employees are all really friendly and the place is kept pretty clean. It does not get too packed during the lunch hours which I love because I hate waiting. The food is always great, I usually get the chicken/beef bowl or the rib plate, which is super BOMB!!!

I love this new healthy eatery!! If you have eaten at the Flame Broiler than you will like this place! They have almost the same approach; chicken and beef bowls, but I liked the salmon bowl, which is usually hard to find in a quick easy way. It's a nice way to pick up fresh healthy food for a good price! They even have sides of kimchee! :D

Way better than flame boiler.

The place was empty during lunch time and was not very clean looking (dirty tables, trash on the floor, etc). Decided to get food here anyway because my son and I were starving. When the cashier saw me walk in, she looked at me and then just turned and walked back towards the register without saying one word to me. I ordered my food and decided to get it To Go because the vibe in there was just sooo unfriendly. As for the food- I ordered a chicken vegetable teriyaki bowl and it was very generic to say the least. They get 2 stars because the food was mediocre and also because their service was crappy.

Fresh Grilled Rice Bowls with no additives are their signature items, but they have many other Asian and teriyaki items, including Chicken, Beef, and Salmon items. Very tasty and affordable. Quick service. I would recommend it as alternative to fast food. It was pleasant and clean and an all new facility. The staff was friendly.

I love Waba Grill. Every time I go here it is great. I like the chicken/Steak?veggie bowl. The meat is always moist, unlike flamebroiler up the street, and the sauce is great.

This place is great. I highly recommend this place when you're in the mood for a quick and healthy meal. The venue is very clean, you can tell that the staff here do a great job to keep the kitchen and eating area clean. Recommend getting the mixed plate to try out both the meat and the chicken. Waba grill hot sauce has a distinguished taste that's different from the over the counter hot sauce we are all used to. Very filling. Truly bang for the buck.

I live like 2 minutes away from this place and decided to stop by on the way home. I normally eat Flamebroiler down the street but decided to try this place out. So I ordered a chicken bowl and a side salad. It is kind of expensive but I like it better than flamebroiler because the chicken is more moist than flamebroiler's chicken. Their side salad is way better too because they serve greener salads compared to flamebroiler which serve you lettuce head salad hahaha. This is probably my second favorite place...MY favorite would have to be Yamas in Huntington beach.

I just tried this place because I had a free drink coupon with any purchase. I got the chicken bowl. The white rice is the same as any teriyaki place. The chicken was ok but I think Flame Broiler's meat was much better. I think the portion size was pretty generous for the price paid and I would say it has the equal amount or if not more than Flame Broiler bowls. What is interesting about this place is that they offer salmon bowls which is not common among these places. Overall I would say its an average chicken bowl joint. If I had a choice, I would eat Flame Broiler any day over this place.

I love waba grill,so far this is my best teriyaki rice bowl place and then its Fiji Grill. I go there very often especially right after school and I ALWAYS order the chicken veggie bowl and I'm not tired of it yet. Its not inexpensieve seriously. The manager is cool.

This new take out place opened in my neighborhood. I had a great experience here, staff and management was friendly and the food was reasonably priced and great. Highly recommend.

Tastes a lot like flame broiler but better quality chicken. I enjoyed it until I found a hair in my chicken bowl. They did offer to make me a new one, but I had already lost my appetite, and the guy who made it seemed to care more about the football game on the big screen than my dinner. Bleh.

OK, so I am guilty of having gone to this location a couple times as well as a location in Lake Forest before writing a review! Now to relieve my guilt...This is a cool little place. It is located in a small strip mall with the main anchors of a Rite Aid drug store & a Fresh & Easy grocery store. When you see the signs for those, pull on in 'cause it might be a wee bit easy to miss the little restaurant otherwise. Both times I have walked in, I have received a nice "Welcome to WaBa Grill" greeting. The service has been fast, friendly and knowledgeable. I had never even heard of the place, but was doing my regular grocery stuff at Fresh & Easy and decided to check this place out while I was there. If you are at all familiar with the Flame Broiler restaurant chain, it is VERY similar in all aspects...the main difference, though, is that this place is actually better, and I do like Flame Broiler. But if I have a choice, I will now go to these places instead. The quality, service and all seems better. My favorite is definitely the (simple but very tasty and filling) "Beef Bowl" and with the optional extra beef for a couple more bucks. The quantity is pretty generous, even if you dont get it with extra beef. The only thing I have been somewhat "meh" about is the rib plate. It sounds better, yes, but it wasnt nearly as satisfying as far as the amount of food compared to the basic bowls (and, I assume, the other "plate" options as well). If you do opt for any of the plates, though, there is a tasty little side salad that it comes with as well. One thing that is also kinda unusual but cool (even though it has absolutely nothing to do with the actual food or service) is that this place has a big HD tv mounted on one of the walls....when I was there last, at least, they were showing a cool movie on it with the subtitles on (so it wasnt overly loud over ppl talking yet you could still read what was going on)...it was "National Treasure". I just thought that was a cool idea, but that's me ;)

I'm very picky about teriyaki bowls but I will say that of all the ones I've tried, Waba Grill is my favorite. They grill their chicken just right and they don't slather too much sauce, allowing the flavor of the grilled chicken to be primary. Price is good at about $5 for a bowl; Check it out for a cheap and delicious meal.

(4)Ryan P.
(2)Margaret T.
Pretty good for the price, not amazing but if you're in a hurry, its a great place to go.
(3)Omar G.
This is by far the best waba I've been to. It is always consistent with the way they cook their chicken and it's very good.
(5)Ousvaldo L.
Good experience and service was pretty good! Most customer looked like they where being attended promptly.
(4)Kalee T.
I love wabA but this location is cheap as hell. Gives half the amount of food as the lake forest location..they pack so much meat that you can barely cap it. This place location was sooo disappointing. And the steak was fattier and also didn't come out hot. It was luke warm
(3)Paul K.
(4)Mike R.

(5)Eric S.
(5)Kim M.
(5)Disko C.
Better than Flame Broiler, and Flame Broiler is pretty good. Guy working the counter was super polite. The house hot sauce isn't my favorite but I do like the Louisiana style they keep in the squeeze bottles.
(4)Miae K.
Most definately the best teriyaki franchise ive been to. Have been coming here for the past 3 years and their food always tastes so fresh. Their meat is very tender and seasoned perfectly. Their staffs are all very friendly and the store is nice and clean. I would give them more than 5 stars if i can ;)
(5)Steve O.
Waba is legit. Consistently on point and reasonably priced. I've tried the whole menu. This Will guy below- factor in labor, food, cost and quite frankly quality. How are you going to keep a restaurant open in OC with $3.50/ plate GTFOH
(5)bilal s.
Well I went there for lunch. I was not really happy with their portion size. It was really small and food was okay too
(3)Chris D.

Looooveee this place!!! They make your food is so clean , when my bf didn't drive we would walk to have our dates there! Everything is so clean and food is SOOO delicious
(3)Judi I.
(4)will c.
Very high prices for food not worth it. All their plates and bowls are worth about $3.50 that's all. Not $ 8.00 People if we stop paying they will get the message.
(1)Michelle L.
(3)Joshua L.
Clean inexpensive and really good overall. Veggies were fresh and everything tasted good. WAY better than flame broiler. Actually...please don't even compare. I also like the jalapeno. That's a great bonus.
(4)Lanie M.
A fan for quick easy fast healthy meal option. Always consistent and good price. Beats flame broiler or other chicken teriyaki places
(4)nancy r.

(5)Vanessa G.
Food is always great!! Fresh tasting and fast to order. Excellent service! Been here a couple times. Will come back more times!!! Better than flame broiler for sure!
(5)Samuel Y.
I love this restaurant. Meats are always juicy and salads are always fresh. I usually get the chicken and steak plate with avocado. Serivce and food never dissapoint. I will frequent tbis place a lot more because im getting older and must start to eat healthy.
(5)Porsche C.
(4)Anthony A.
This place is awesome! Wabagrill is the same concept as flame broiler! The staff is nice and the service is great! I like going during lunch. Fresh chicken, veggies and rice! Always! Can't complain! I'll be back soon.
(5)Nikki N.
i ordered veggie bowl w. half chicken half beef no rice. the teriyaki & spicy sauce are better than any other teriyaki place. they didnt put alot of meat though, mostly veggies. almost $8. it tasted healthy, fresh & good quality meat, but teriyaki places are a real rip off with how they skimp out on so much meat!
(3)Peter H.
(4)Andrea A.
(5)Wyatt E.
Always a good meal BUT you guys gotta check your cups or ice. Every time I get a refill when you take a drink either the cup or ice smells funky and like mildew.
(2)Jen N.
(5)Flower Child ..
Love the food, very delicious! Much better/tastier than Flame Broiler (the Flame Broiler's I've been to have burnt chicken 50/50). Each time I've been to Waba the employees are friendly and the food is always fresh! Plus the service is quick :) love em!
(5)Bambi C.
Been a fan of Waba since it opened. Moved to the IE and was glad to see one being built right by the house. It was not as good as the Fullerton location. Moved back to Fullerton and went to try it again and it was so good. The counter girl Courtney was so sweet and friendly, I will be back.
(5)Lemon G.
I love this place. I love how they give a salad and the dressing is amazing!! There is always a right amount of rice and chicken!! I decided to try this place when it first opened and i was surprise on how amazing it was because ive never seen a waba grill before. The Teriyaki sauce is amazing!
(5)Mickiela M.
this place is gross..the bowl tasted like a microwavable dinner. every piece of meat had fat on it when you walk into a place and they are empty that sometimes is a clue...
(1)Andrew N.
(2)Natalie G.
(5)Jcbeats P.
(5)Edward S.
I LOVE WABA GRILL!! Definitely the best teriyaki franchise in town. Their hot sause is as good as king taco's red sauce!!
(5)Mark S.
We have a ton of these rice bowl places around orange county now, but this is my favorite. The chicken and veggie bowl is the best. Salmon can be a little on the fishy side so I don't order that anymore. The interior including the restroom is always clean and tidy.
(4)Sean K.
Great flavor for a teriyaki place. My only complaint is the meat or chicken portion size is a bit small compared to the rice. Sauces are great-check it out!
(3)Cynthia J.
This one smells funny when you walk inside. This types of places always leave me with more to be desired. its meat with veggies and rice. Meh.
(2)Jina H.
Better than Flame Broiler. They give more meat and they have jalapeno carrots. I would definitely come here again :)
(5)Kenneth B.
-CC accepted- -Green onion on request- -NW side in Fresh n' Easy, T-Mobile Lot-
(3)Andy P.
Foods is good not great. The white rice was not sticky enough. Clean and prompt service. I tried the Beef Bowl.
(3)Rene C.
(5)Vince V.
(4)Michæl V.
Great Flame Broiler alternative. Everything is always fresh & tasty! Restaurant is also clean and easily accessible with plenty of parking.
(5)Hanz L.
If you want to eat really healthy, go here and order the meat without sauce. Get brown rice or substitute rice with steamed vegetables. Healthy! Hard to find true healthy foods these days that still tastes good. But also note that the beef is pre-marinated so that could be slightly unhealthy.
(4)susan l.
used a groupon. we had $20 but could barely order enough. what i ate: - salmon plate: got it with brown rice. came with a nice side of salad with asian dressing. the salmon was pretty cooked, but tasty. topped with fresh green onions - chicken salad: the chicken was dry. sad. pros: - healthy - teriyaki had good flavor - brown rice option available for $0.80 more - clean cons: - limited menu, as in, you usually can only get a plate/bowl, but nothing else a la carte. a bit of a drag since we still needed like $3 to spend all of our groupon. i wished i could have gotten teriyaki shrimp a la carte or something - disappointed at dry the chicken was would i come again? eh... i think id rather go to flame broiler.
(2)Brian S.
Found this by accident and my wife and I love it. She loves it because she can get white chicken meat for her rice bowl. Most places mix dark and white chicken meat. The service is fast and the food is good.
(5)Paul R.

OMG. this place is so awesome, the food is so fresh and healthy. I wish there were more places like this one.

I come here about once a week. I always order the teriyaki salmon bowl with avocado, which cost me a little over 8 dollars.

(5)Scott D.

Love that I can go to a fast food place and order salmon, veggies, and brown rice. The food has always been fresh and the service prompt. No complaints!
(5)Chris M.
Awesome good food. Better than flame broiler. Chicken and beef are both good and they also have salmon and shrimp. Food is made when ordered and fresh. will come again for sure.
(5)Michelle K.

(5)Sharon S.

(5)Andrew K.

Bleh.

avocado on my beef and chicken bowl wow so good
