Great prices for good portions and friendly service. Lunch specials are 7-9 dollars but u get soooo much food. I lived in Thailand for 9 years and the food tasted really authentic! It was a pleasant surprise since we went here only because my mom was craving thai and it was on the way home. One if the few thai restaurants that i would recommend. The service there was outstanding, we had several different servers that attended our table, and all of them were quick to ask if we needed anything or refill our drinks. When my mom asked for things (she's really picky sometimes) our server brought her everything promptly and with a smile. Place was packed too, and i heard people making some pretty complicated orders and the service stayed friendly. Good customer service goes a long way in my book. Cant wait to come back!

My girlfriend introduced me to this place last night and she was very shocked that I've never been here before. We got the original Thai BBQ chicken and pad see ew. The chicken was good.. a bit dry for my taste, but the seasoning on the skin was delicious. The fried rice that comes with it was ok.. nothing really stood out. Pad see ew was good, but oily.. very very oily. I also wished they put more broccoli. Overall it was good... 3 stars for the food and an extra star for the attentive service.

So I went there today for lunch, first, I ordered the yellow curry with chicken, what came out wasn't yellow at all! It looked like greasy beef stew. I sent it back, and asked for chicken pad Thai, I got pad Thai, looked like the noodles were melted, there was one tiny sliver of chicken in it. I asked my waitress where the chicken was, and she replied, "this is the lunch portion" uuuuh??? Do not go to this place if you're not into Slime noodles..... Really off putting!

Fullerton will always have a special place in my heart. Decided to come to the area and have a quick dinner with my friend on a Friday night. Not as good as the first time but still one of the better BBQ restaurant in the area. Ordered the BBQ spare ribs S-2 again, the potion is big and the BBQ spare ribs is really tasty, however the ribs was not that hot. Could of been better if the food was hotter. I think plus tax and tips was $14 total for the dish. Services here was great. My friend ordered the coconut soup, I tried some and it was pretty good also.

I've come here over 20 times, sometimes w my father, other times with girlfriends. Always had decent service and food was good though a little on the pricy side for how many Thai places there are around. TODAY was the last time. My friend and I and got pad Thai, pad see ew, and Tom Yum. The Tom yum tasted like water, as in we are pretty sure they added water to the soup to make it the portion it's supposed to be. And being someone who eats Thai food on weekly basis (literally), I think I'd notice. Did I mention I'm someone that never complains? All of my reviews are positive! Anyway, here is where it gets bad. We tell our server when we get the bill that we really did not enjoy the Tom yum ( it was untouched), the server gets into it and is raising her voice at us, and my friend who works as a server also says "are you saying it's our fault? The customers' fault?", turns and she grabs the pot, and is clearly complaining about us to other servers and the cook. I'm sorry I don't want to pay $13 for water with some coloring... Horrible service, I only felt bad that i wasn't leaving tip for the other servers who probably aren't too shitty of people.

I go to Thai restaurants often. I gotta say this place has my favorite beef pad Thai.

Although it's not a complete disaster, it's definitely a very unimpressive experience. I ordered the tom yum seafood noodle. The colour was bland, the flavour simply fishy without any depth, and most of the seafood was overcooked cheap calamari. The shrimp (prawns) were hard and overcooked too. Service was below average and lacked friendliness. I parked my car next to one of their cars in the car park and one of the kitchen staff came out to stare at me like he owned the goddamned car park or I've hit his car. The wait staff doesn't belong in hospitality trade either.

I only got to come here for some quick pick up but I think I got a good glimpse of what the restaurant is like. - Drunken Noodles is what I ordered and it was pretty solid. A tiny bit greasy but still delicious! - I saw a lot of people who were dining in order the BBQ combos, wish I had the time to dine in and try it out, you should! - Service was really nice an quick! - The place itself is a bit old and probably could use some sort of refurbishment but it's good enough.

I've been coming to The Original Thai BBQ since I was a little girl. So much that I memorize the order Numbers by heart. Although Cerritos Thai BBQ is my favorite location I go to Fullerton since it's much closer to me. I had tried more then half the items on there menu but my mains are BBQ Chicken which comes with fried rice and two pieces of shrimp, 8 pieces of Chicken or beef satay (Beef taste better), Shrimp Phad Thai, BBQ Ribs, Combination soup and Spicy Beef salad. They portions are big and the food is good. Just an FYI, Sometimes they overlook the BBQ chicken so I ask the waitress when placing my order ahead of time to make sure the chicken is not overlooked. I don't like dry chicken. Other then the chicken, everything is really tasty. Order Thai iced tea with your meal. They have good tea here too, not too sweet and taste just right. Service has been good. If I have a call in order, it's normally 15 minutes and by the time I arrive the food is ready at the counter to go. If I'm dining it, servers are always nice and fast to serve. Now, the reason why I am giving such a low rating after all the positive stuff I wrote... decadeonline.com/results… Regardless of how much I like a restaurant or how good there food taste, I refuse to give a high rating to a restaurant that has been closed twice two months in a row ( May & June 2014 ) due to cockroach infestation. Health comes first and to know a restaurant still operates with this problem to me is unacceptable. But on a positive note, there's always The BBQ in Cerritos.

    - Locale Destination - $10 minimum for credit card usage. Bring cash! - Gluttony Expedition - Drunken noodle: Spicy and good! It had lots of vegetables - broccoli, red peppers, onions etc. Big portion, too. Basil eggplant: Only eggplants and basil - no on

This is my FAVORITE Thai Place. The food is always good. They have the BEST Wonton Soup. The portions are generous which is nice because Thai food is not cheap and I love leftovers. The service is usually very good and they have a large menu to choose from. I recommend the Wonton Soup, Pad See Ew with Beef, Glass Noodles with Beef & Shrimp and the egg rolls.

I really like this Thai restaurant and the service is always great! I always order the Beef Pad See Ew, and it never fails. It comes with broccoli and i like to eat mine with some green peppers. The dish has a sweet taste to it, just the way I like it. The Spicy Coconut Chicken Soup is good as well, but i've tried it on two different occasions and it tasted differently both times. One time, I think they added more coconut milk and the soup was much darker, but i'm not complaining. I usually call to pick up the order and my order is always ready within 10-15 minutes. The service is always polite and whoever picks up the phone is always super friendly. Whenever I ask for green peppers to go, they always give enough. Just had the opportunity to try their beef and broccoli dish and it was delicious! There are large and thick pieces of beef in the dish paired with broccoli. The sauce that covers the dish is extremely savory and can top any rice dish. Their pineapple fried rice is a pleasant surprise as well. Many small pineapple pieces throughout the whole plate and adds some sweetness to each bite. There's also huge chunks of tomatoes and green onions on top of yellow rice. I had these two together and they made the perfect pair.

As good as ever. Last minute decision while we were driving to another place. Good last minute decision. The place is exactly the same as it was 15 years ago. The service is OK but the food is exactly the same. Pretty amazing. Love this place. Such a reliable go-to place for Thai BBQ.

Talk about a classic! Thai BBQ has been in our family wayyy back in the day, even before I came into the world LOL! It's all about the pink colored fried rice with their orange sauce its LOVE! Before we moved to the OC we used to frequent the Cerritos location but to me their just as good! I can't believe I've never done a review on them before! Clearly I've been hiding under a rock too long LOL I've never eaten inside this location, I always just call my order in and its always ready and 100% accurate each time, I've never had any issues with accuracy and they always read my order back over the phone. The food is soo SOLID and spot on everytime! For $50.00 we eat like queens for 3 days! Leftovers galore! Their noddle dishes specifically Pad Thai & Pad See Ew are sooo addicting! This time around I tried the BBQ Chicken and it was fall off the bone! I've never had such moist, fresh chicken at a Thai place! I've tried to give other Thai places around OC which are whack and a waste of money so I am sticking to what I know best and that's Thai BBQ! ^_^

This thai restaurant is in the same plaza as Costco and Chuck e Cheese on the corner of a Orangethorpe and Harbor. The restaurant faces Orangethorpe Street. Decor is old and needs an update. The service was friendly, but I noticed many of the employees eat on the job at the guest tables and gets up occasionally to check on guests. Didn't bother me much, but it may to some. We had the BBQ chicken and spicy chicken and mushroom soup. The food tastes like homemade cooking. It is not really spicy, pretty mil. About $30 for two entree after drinks and tax.

Not a bad spot for lunch. Large portion and taste a bit on the heavy side. Curry is a bit watery for my taste. Friendly staff and clean set up. Has a lot of selections but price gone up quiet a bit on weekends.

Decided to try this place out...I love Thai food and usually always go right down the street from where I live but I was in this area so I thought I'd try it...I definitely regret it! The food was pricey compared to other places I go. I just got the Pad Thai Tofu to go and it has no flavor at all...I can't even finish it because there's no flavor...I probably will never be coming back here again...I'll just get my pad Thai tofu somewhere else

Place was alright, don't buy dessert from here. I was so disappointed and really wanted to like this place. We had a group of 12. Customer service was really bad, they hardly checked on us after we splurged on dinner. We ordered the following: Red curry- semi sweet, good flavors not enough meat. Green curry- right amount of spice, I enjoyed it Spare ribs- it was okay, I've had better Won ton soup- good Kabobs- meat too dry We ordered 4 orders of the ice cream with fried banana....I was so disappointed because my family wanted to go next door to Oahu ice but I convinced them to try something from the restaurant. Well to our disappointment we will avoid having dessert here at all cost. The bananas were not ripe nor sweet with ice cream. So bad we ate only the ice cream

We've been customers here for about twenty years. This place has gone through a couple of changes in ownership. With each change in ownership, sadly enough, the quality of service has been declining as well as the size of dishes. The only thing that's consistently going up is the price of dishes. Parking is always convenient. I was greeted by quite unfriendly, cashi cashier. Tonight, we just ordered a la carte Beef Sate and was expectedly tasty: 8 beef sate for over $13.00 which included the tax. This restaurant has, by far, the most tasty beef sate around, and I've tried quite a few. A few months ago, we inquired about catering this item and asked for more info. Their response was that all of their food can be ordered a la carte, no discount... A response which was just as disappointing as their declining quality of service. Our family come here less and less frequently each year. Once we find another Thai place with this level of beef sate, we probably won't miss this place at all.

***This review is for To Go*** Been to this place before yelp existed and from what I recall it was actually really good. We decided to order To Go, got the Pad Thai with beef, shrimp fried rice, and sweet and sour chicken. Food is below par now, but upon opening the container for the sweet and sour chicken. We found sweet and sour veggies with pineapple and sad tiny pieces of what I hope is chicken. Absolutely ridiculous that your going to charge 12 bucks for watery sweet and sour vegetables. Do not order to go at this venue. As for the dine in experience there were two small groups of 3-4 in the restaurant when we went. Place definitely isn't a go to for people anymore. *UPDATE* can't finish the food. It honestly taste like they had this waiting under a heat lamp and threw it back into a hot pan with old oil. You guys can't be serious I wouldn't feed my dog this garbage.

Here's what NOT to order: 1) garlic short ribs $9.75: took a bite n sent it back. Tasted not fresh and lacked flavor. 2) Thai Bbq spareribs: Though tender, you could somehow taste lighter fluid. Almost like the ribs had been previously cooked n to reheat it, they stuck them over a gas flame. Decent to order: 1) Thai bbq chicken $9.75: came with half a bbq chicken. This dish was ok but didn't wow me like i thought it would since Bbq is supposed to be their specialty. For the price I think I'd rather just get a Costco chicken. 2) Chicken Satay Dinner $13.75: comes with a large serving of their fried rice. The satay was good.

My favorite is their drunken noodle. Have tried drunken noodle from at least 15 other Thai places in the OC. This place is #1. My second fav. is the beef and chicken skweers with fried rice and peanut sauce. Yum. 99 % of the time I order take and if I had any complaints it would be that the inside get a make over. Horrible lighting, obvious that the owner is taking the profits from this a bit pricey place and putting it in his pockets. Still all and all a good place just not a great destnation place.

1/5 stars for the service. We were served by a young Hispanic male that was rude and inattentive. Not once did he asked if we needed anything. He came once to our table and never came back. I had to flag him down several times which apparently caused him to be annoyed. Not once did he acknowledged the fact that we brought our hard-earned money to spend it on their bland soup, salty pork ribs, bland fried rice, disgusting bathroom plus pay for his salary. I have been going to this restaurant since the first one opened in Cerritos in the early 80's. Never again!

Quality Pad Thai! Their Pad Thai is honestly full of flavor, which is rare for me to say. I'm very picky when it comes to this particular dish as I like mine sticky and rich in taste. The flavor sticks to the noodles which makes every bite deee-li-cious. I also love the chicken bbq and peanut sauce with fried rice. Mmmmmmmm you won't regret coming here!

Ordered shrimp pad thai and they only gave me 3 shrimp what a joke. Food had good flavor but for what they give you not worth the price. I've had better for lower.

Visited here for lunch yesterday with an old friend. We've been here perhaps a dozen times and it was just fine... as usual. Cheerful service with a smile. Sigh. We had Phad Thai w/ chicken and I tried some BBQ ribs off the lunch menu. Only about $17 with tax. So yeah good stuff and thumbs up!

2.5 stars The S-1, bbq chicken with shrimp fried rice, is the plate to get here. The food was good, but i feel like they use a lot of msg in their food, especially in the fried rice. It gives off that weirdly good taste, but i couldnt really pinpoint a flavor, hence my conclusion that it had quite a bit of msg in it. I ordered the plate to-go and requested 2 sauces, since the sauce really makes the S-1, the amazing flavorful dish it is. The lady just put 1 sauce in :/ She was super nice though, I just wish the place was a little keener on the details, and the interior could use a bit of a clean/remodeling.

  • Diana A.

Pretty affordable their plates runs about $7-$10. It comes with meat of choice and rice. We tried the beef bbq with shrimp fried rice, chicken bbq was very tasty! Try the egg rolls it's bigger than the typical egg roll and it has lots of veggies inside. The tom yum soup, even though it says spicy, has a very mild heat to it. As for dessert I would recommend fried bananas with honey. Also the sweet sticky rice with mango my fave!

My family and I have been coming here for years whenever one of us gets a craving for Thai food. During our most recent visit, we noticed that the portions have been reduced, yet the prices have stayed the same. However, this does not detract from the quality of the food. I recommend the pad thai, green curry, drunken noodles, and pad see ew.

RAT RIBS? went back again for some of those meaty ribs..but was let down...the ribs were meaty but they looked & tasted old - like they cooked them days in advanced. The meat lost its color and they looked nasty. During our meal, just outside in the bushes was a huge rat mocking me, I just hope I wasn't eating Rat Ribs :/

I've been told by my Thai friend that this place is greasy and not "authentic" it really doesn't matter to me because I still love it. The S8 beef satay and chicken pad see ew?forgive my misspelling? Are the best ever. I don't like peanut sauce so I always request spicy sweet sauce. I used to love their Tom ka Kai ? But the last few times I've had it hasn't done it for me anymore. Their service is why I can't give them a 5 star, they tend to be rather inattentive, not checking on how things taste, or if you need anything else. Still my favorite Thai restaurant.

It's a bit pricey but it's worth it! The quality of the food I'd always fresh send cooked to order. The couple of times I've dined here my family and I felt welcomed.

Okay, maybe this review is a little bit skewed because I didn't order my usual thai dishes. I came here after a laser tag game at laser quest, and unfortunately, it was lent so I was limited to seafood. The decor is very simple, just booths and ordinary decorations. The service is friendly and quick. As for the food, this is where it went downhill. We all got the dinner special which consisted of red rice and teriyaki salmon. The portions were huge for $11; however, the salmon was dry and bland. The rice lacked any sense of flavor and the broccoli was stale and was in serious need of some extra steaming. Overall, the dish was extremely disappointing. :( Maybe the other dishes would have tasted, but the dish I ordered was about as flavorful as cardboard.

I went in for a late lunch. I had the drunken noodles ...very nice. had it with pork but it was a little tough and not tender as before. I also ordered the chili beef and that was very tasty too. The service was friendly and fast. Next time I'll get the mint chicken and phad see ew!

I've been coming to this franchise since the early 90s. At first bite, I was in love. Typically I get only one thing, the S-1, BBQ chicken and flied rice w/ couple shrimps and orange slice... When i eat this, i get into the zone!!! I block out all the noise and just eat. Sometimes I can be crappy company like that but it won't last long... I'm losing my mind and u just stand there and stare as my world divides! You belong to me my Snow White Queen. There's nowhere to run so lets just get it over (^^) I digress. I've also had the pad say yuk (the fat noodles). They are okay but not very filling. A good appetizer w/ a larger group. All below are part of the "S" dishes: Comes w/ flied lice, scrimp and naranja and a piece of lettuce as deco. Hmm. The sate plate, the skewer dinner is aiite too. The beef is delish, the chicken sorta sucks. You get 6 skewers, either 3/3 or 6 of each. Also had the duck. It sucks. Rather go to sam woo. Spare ribs are pretty good. I feel horrible after eating them so i refrain. Unless i'm starving like i spent a week in Somalia then i grab em. Thy provide you with three large pieces and its plentiful. The crab meatballs were okay but by the second one, i got sick of it. The chicken wings suck ass. All in all, the OG bbq chicken is the best bet. For newbies, I recommend the S-1.

food was okay like pad thai and thai ice tea was really good but the workers are too rude. They need to step it up with the service

Horrible service, we sat down to eat, they brought us our menu then never came back, there wasn't even that many people there.. The waiters were to busy doing nothing to even notice us leave. I can't understand how you expect to run a business if you can't even give your customers the respect and service they deserve. We'll never come here again, I can't recommend this place to anyone

  • Rachel R.

I got food to go for lunch. I called it in and placed my order. When I arrived I stood at the door next to the sign that said "Please wait to be seated" for a solid five minutes. I could have been a dine-in customer and they should not make you wait that long! Finally I walked over to the waitress at the back register station. She did not greet me but I said I was there for pick up. I paid and then I waited a little longer to get the food. I got chicken pad thai. It was a large portion of noodles, hardly any chicken. And the flavor was pretty bland. I will try somewhere else next time.

Food is good, and the portions are generous. A little bland for my taste, but that can always be corrected with hot sauce as needed. Great customer service- friendly and prompt.

This place is ok. Not that great. Plus it also seemed to me that it was a little bit pricey. The food doesn't seem to me to be worth the money. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Great service. A little expensive though.

Giving 4 stars because I can't give 4.5. I've been coming here for years now and the food has been consistently good. Food: my usual order is dearest crab and pad Thai. On this particular visit, my dearest crab was really dry but it usually isn't. I'll let that slide for today. Pad Thai was so good. We had chicken and shrimp added to it. Also their kayang chicken and beef panang is good, too. Price: price is fair. For the best deal, come here for lunch during the week. Their lunch specials are really good. Service: service is always really good. All the servers are easy to talk to and they're attentive, especially with drink refills (hallelujah). However today, when I asked for extra honey sauce to bring home with my leftovers, this guy server said it was an additional $0.25... Since when did they start charging for extra honey sauce?! Annoying. Got it anyway -_- but since another lady already brought us our check, the $0.25 wasn't added. Atmosphere: regular Thai restaurant decor and surroundings. They have a lot of tables, but I personally prefer the booths. Overall: great Thai food and service. Go! :)

A true gem that unfortunately we can't seem to find a place like this in SD. Don't get turned off by the very old decor of the place. The food is spot on. We always order the BBQ chicken and the beef skewers. Oh my, my mouth is watering just typing about it. I don't usually order chicken at restaurants just because most places the chicken comes out dry. I leave that for the hubby to order. Here their chicken is moist and not disappointing. My favorite has to be the beef skewers. Ooooh those damn beef skewers. You gotta try it to know how good they are. I always get the shrimp fried rice. You get plenty of food for the amount you pay. This is one of our most go to stops whenever we're in the Orange County area. Remember decor isn't everything. Let the food speak for itself.

Solid Thai food. Liked everything we had. Chicken Pad See Ew was very good. I would definitely come again if I were in the area. Great price. Good ambiance. Very good service.

  • Kimberly T.

I had the pad see ew along with the ribs, and let me say, they were BOMB. They were both seasoned and cooked well, and just plain delicious. This place is the only Thai place by my house I go to. Not that I'm a Thai connoisseur or anything, but the food here looks as yummy as it tastes. It also has it's own building, so it's not small or cramped. I did have the pad thai, and that could use a little work. i'm not sure if there is more than one way to cook pad thai, but the one at Noodle World is WAY better than the one here. I can't explain it, but I know it was drier than what I'm normally used to. The portions are generous though, and the staff friendly. Everyone should give this place a shot.

The food is very bland and tasteless. I ordered the Tom yum soup, and omfg it is watered down and has no flavor. The seafood tasted frozen. This is not Thai food.

This place has always been alright. Not my first choice, but some of my family chose to go here. Never really had any huge complaints until I went the other night and my Uncle ordered the Honey Duck plate. Him and my friend said it was good. My uncle gave me a portion and I was not expecting a really cold piece of meat. It literally tasted like it just came out of the fridge. I have years of experience in the restaurant industry so I know some places end up nuking some dishes. This is just a heads up to anyone who is thinking about ordering the Honey Duck that it's most likely pre-cooked and microwaved to order. I told the waitress and she took it back and gave us a new one. Now the duck was extremely hot. Kept it in the microwave for a couple extra minutes? Yep. I most likely won't be coming back here.

  • YM l.

Service is pretty horrible here. I went in a few months ago to pick up and order. There were many young waitresses around, and the place was only half or even less then half full. It took them awhile to even acknowledge my presence. Someone finally helped me, but in a very unfriendly manner. The whole time, they were talking to each other. It felt as if I was interrupting them. And when I got my order and tried to ask for some chili peppers it took them even longer to help me. Again, they were not that busy. Anyways, they get one extra star for food, but service is definitely lacking. Service gets a 1 star at best.

  • J N.

The food is decent, but the service is TERRIBLE. The others in my party were half way done with their meals before my complete order came out. The wait staff kept giving me the runaround telling me that the rest of my order would come out soon. Apparently another person on their staff had "cancelled" my order. C'mon, you know you can't eat curry without rice.

  • Carren Marie S.

Anybody else love the fact that your rice is Orange? I actually had my leftovers for lunch today and it was still finger-licking good. They are g e n e r o u s with their rice portions here. Geez, I couldn't even make a dent in my meal last night and it was delicious. I've been coming to this chain of Thai BBQ's for years and no matter which city I have it in, the recipes seem to stay consistent wherever I go. For a Wednesday evening, the restaurant had a good crowd. BUT - What I don't understand is why they don't spend a little of that hard earned cash on improving their restaurant ambience. Hardwood floors and updated tables wouldn't hurt, guys! Looking past the decor, the food wins me over everytime. I'm such a sucker for their Seafood soup (Spicy and Sour! Not for the faint of heart), Chicken BBQ and Chicken Ruby dinner - MY FAVE! Sure, they have the Pad Thai and Satay - but live a little and try the WHOLE Menu if you can.

My husband and I always went to Thai BBQ whenever we had a craving for pad thai, drunken noodle or red curry. We have been pretty loyal customers for the past 3 years or so. However, quality has gone down in the past couple years. The chicken started to come out burnt, and the noodles were soggy. We went back the other night after a brief hiatus and ordered the usuals. The drunken noodle came out in about 5 minutes. They were also soggy. We guessed that they make the noodles ahead of time and reheat (there were not many guests there at the time, so they could not have made them for anyone else). Besides the soggy noodles, the food was bland. The server was really nice though, so I added another star. But this place is really a 2 in terms of food.

My husband and I eat there at least once a month. The staff is always friendly and their food is so tasty! My favorite is the BBQ chicken and my husband gets Saute'. We've tried many of their dishes also, all good but we have our favorite. Very fast service and always get what we expected.

Been coming here for sometime for some quick Thai food. BBQ Chicken and Beef Satay are my common orders. Fast service, reasonable lunch prices and all around good vibe. Worth a try during lunch hours, I find dinner overpriced. Ive had more authentic Thai food elsewhere but this is a very good Thai Fast food.

I've been coming here for the past ten years but service has just been going down since. I was greeted by this hispanic guy that didnt look happy because we requested for a different table since the one he wanted to give us was beside the door and was cold. Our order came out 20 mins after we placed our it except for my daughter's. Her order was delayed for over 40 mins while the waiter kept reassuring us that her order was coming multiple times. the waiter eventually told us that the cook is still working on it but cant give us an estimated time .... U kidding me? We already ate our food while my kid is starving! And they cant give me an ETA??? Its a simple dish guys! Garlic pork ribs!! Seriously.... Then eventually after waiting for an hour it came out but it was the wrong one! But yet the waiter kept insisting that its the right one. Was so pissed i got up, paid and left ...

Beef is ooookay like everyone says but nothing special. You can get some cheap skirt steak and grill it yourself and it would be the same. The "shrimp" fried rice the sate comes with is a joke. It literally is like someone else reviewed, as white rice with food coloring or some other substance it make it red. There is no flavor and NO shrimp. The chicken satay...I'm still trying to figure out if it's really chicken. The cucumber salad is gross and too spicy. Sorry I spent $23 here.

Service was super bad. I stood at the door waiting to be seated. Two employees by back area were talking. I finally had to walk to them to ask to be seated. Ordered chicken yellow curry and it was served on the bone with two potatoes and no other veggies. Hmmm yellow chicken curry on the bone? That's a first but I went with it! The curry sauce was super oily from the chicken fat. Waitress never came to ask how my food was and I finally had to ask another waitress for my check. Would never go back.

I'd been here once before this time and mistakenly ordered a chicken salad. My bad; that damned thing was a mess of boiled chicken atop wilted lettuce and then smothered in a thick, gooey ... salad dressing. That said, Boyfriend and I decided to give this place another shot, and ordered some of their real food. I don't know wtf I was thinkin' when I ordered that salad, but the entrees are pretty tasty! We opted for the short ribs dinner and the satay dinner. On the menu it states that the dinners come with a generous portion of fried rice. Generous indeed, by even the 500 lb man's standards. There was enough rice between our two plates to feed several people, and the meat portions were pretty big too. The satay was ordered as half & half; meaning that it came to the table as half chicken half beef. The chicken was a bit dry, but the beef was absolutely very tender. If you don't like a little char on your grilled food, don't order this. Also, do feel free to ask for another sauce cup; the one tiny cup I got wasn't nearly enough. Boyfriend said the ribs were very tender, but again, not much sauce. You can of course always ask for more. Service isn't bad, nothing spectacular, but not horrid either. Plenty of space to park as it's located in the AMC/Costco/Jack plaza. I'll probably try the chicken next time - I saw it on someone else's table and the coveting began.

I have been coming here for years. They have great flavor and nice portions. The Sate dinner is amazing, the ribs are soft as butter. The glass noodles, padtai never dissapoint. Their sweet sticky rice is the best I've ever tried. Idk I just have never had something bad there.

Where should I start? The food was ok not great but decent. However the service was BAD! We had to wait for a while for a party to leave which is understandable but then waited another 10 minutes for them to clean the table. Once seated they took our drink order and then another server came to take our drink order we told her someone took our order already to which she replied she probably forgot. Way to throw your coworkers under the bus. When we got our check we noticed that the tip was already included( by the way nowhere on the menu did it say big parties tip included). There was 6 of us and a baby and according to them a baby counts as a person for tipping purposes. Overall not a good experience.

Just walked in and walked right out. Tonights host was the worst. She tried to sit me and my 3 friends at the worst table in there only because she was to lazy to clean any of the 5 dirty ones. Who leaves 5 dirty tables just sitting there. This lazy miserable sorry excuse for a hostess should be fired. I actually love eating there and the food is great just a horrible lady sitting us down. Won't ever go again.

  • Mayra G.

The food was eh... I've had better Thai food. Service was horrible. The waitress had a bad attitude and only came around twice. To top it off they automatically added gratuity for a party of 7 (apparently a baby matters as a person dinning in). Wouldn't come back here.

Just went to this place for lunch with my co-workers and fell compelled to leave a review: Food was terrible. I ordered pad thai and added shrimp. Not the cheap lunch menu version, but the a-la-carte selection (it's more expensive). I obviously got last night's left overs.... Appearance was obviously of noodles cooked a day earlier, flavor was actually gross, im all up for recycling, but the few tiny pieces of chicken were obviously very overcooked, but more likely from a day or two ago. Mostly chunks of fat and very chewie. The 4-1/2 pieces of shrimp I got were the best part. But for $2.50 extra for shrimp, I expect better. I took a picture of the paprika chunk (rock) I found after I took a bite of the noodles, that gave me stomache ache. I wish I could upload a picture, to transmit the full effect... I also heard my co-workers talking about of how dissapointed they were with their curry, and the chunks of fat they got instead of the beef listed in the menu. Yelp should have minus stars, if yelp did. I would give them minus 5 stars. I would dare to say that my co-workers would agree with it. But I hope they write their own reviews. On a scale from 1-10 I would highly NOT recommend this place at all... not to my worst enemy... actually, I would recommend to my worst enemy if I had one... RC.

Had the PhadThai and the pork BBQ and it was just EH....was expecting it to be great but the taste just wasn't really what I was normally used to. The BBQ pork wasn't cooked all the way and the phad thai noodles were overcooked and mushy. I guess I like the Thai BBQ in Cerritos BETTER

  • Rebekah M.

I ordered the Tum Yum Kai Gai, and the waitress goes "you mean coconut soup?," uhhh yeah, but Tum Yum Kai Gai is how it's stated on the menu. Why did you just correct me? As if the attitude wasn't enough, the "coconut soup" wasn't even warm, and the rice was over cooked. And yeah I would know because I'm Asian and know how to make rice haha

  • Karla A.

Definitely not coming back. I ordered Scampi a la Thai BBQ, my husband ordered the Dearest Crab. Both came with an order of shrimp fried rice. The rice was bland with only 2 shrimps in both of our plates. It tasted like kind of rice you get at a bad Mexican restaurant and had little to no egg as well. Our main dishes lacked flavor, my husband is half thai so we always try and find good thai food but this definitely missed the mark. The only thing we liked was the thai iced tea. Oh and one last thing, it was extremely noisy and distracting, almost walked out which I wish we would have.

I remember coming here nearly 10yrs ago and all I could remember is their red rice. I realized why; because they give you like a rice cooker's worth of it! We got the BBQ Chicken combo (S-1) and Beef Ribs combo (S-2) and shared some of the meat. The BBQ chicken, which is what they're really known for was good. And dipping it in their sauce takes it to another level. I did get a badly burnt piece of wing which I asked for a replacement of and was quickly given. The beef rib though was quite fatty and not that good. We should've chosen the honey duck over the ribs. This place is at worst A-OK if you stick to their speciality! Or at least just stick to their BBQ items.

So I went on ahead and did a second try at this place and honestly they changed my mind about the place. I went during lunch time and I noticed that the food was most freshest and delicious. I ordered the same dish as last time I was here and it was absolutely better! I came at a busy time on a Sunday & it was packed.

I came across this place and heard it got good reviews. It wasn't that busy but they are real friendly when you walk in. They have about 15 booths and 15 misc tables. Asked what was good and she gave me some choices and went with the BBQ chicken. The food cane out within 5 minutes and looked pretty good...not too oily or greasy. First bite was pretty good...chicken was soft and sweet. They give you shrimp fried rice with any of the entrees. Midway through my meal I find myself wanting more...so far so good. I wish I had some kimchee. This should be some good leftovers. This ranks high up there against all the other Thai place I've been.

Go to Thai Food. Noodles are good. Pad thai is a bit overcooked but descent flavor. Drunken noodle is not the best however. Lunch noodles soups are very tasty, tom yum, chicken is sour and spicy. BBQ chicken is tasty and the best bbq sauce around. Portions have shrunk a little bit over the years. Beef and Chicken sate are very good and the portions are very big. I like the ribs, but it appears I am the only one. But I think their good. The broccoli beef and mint chicken are also solid. So are the curries although they tend to use dry chicken meat. The chicken noodle dish is a staple however and very good. Usually good service and food comes out timely. Don't understand the negative reviews as I've eaten at many thai restaurants and this is very a very hommy place to eat.

Great food! Can't go wrong with an order of Beef S8. I'd give them 5 stars but it's so darn dark inside! I feel like I'm in the club.

I was so excited that there's a thai BBQ close to our place but I got disappointed :( , why I got disappointed? Simply because food are not the same as the one on Cerritos. Calamari is all flour taste and Kai yang chicken is not cooked properly, still red inside and pad thai... Taste salty... I love thai bbq but this one location is not as close.... Not even close to the one in Cerritos.

we called it in the night before for an event. we ordered 3 pad see ew's, 2 drunken noodles, 2 pad Thais, chicken and beef satay and asked for peppers and hot sauce. all to go. the order was hot when we picked it up and tasted great. they called 30 minutes before the order pick up to reconfirm our order, which was nice. on the food: I was pleasently surprised by the satays... they were delish!! especially the beef... not dry AT ALL. the were very generous with the peppers and utensils. I would suggest asking for chopsticks bc we didn't get any with our order but then again we didn't ask. if I had to pick my favorite, I would choose pad see ew and the pad kee mao (drunken noodles). all in all, would def. order from them again!

Go-to neighborhood Thai place. No major complaints about this location but two things: -Tom yum is kinda on the bland side -TOO DARK to eat at night. So, Maybe more candles on the booth tables? Or a permanent lamp.

I used to be a regular. I don't eat here as often bc the quality of the food & the service aren't as great as they used to be. I usually order S8 (all beef), pad thai, & Tom Yum chicken soup. The S8 never disappoints. I just wish they were more generous with their peanut butter sauce. A little Dixie container of sauce isn't nearly enough for the 8 sticks of bbq! Pad Thai no longer has a taste... More like bland orange colored noodles with shrimp. Sad bc that's my favorite. Tom Yum chicken soup isn't good at all anymore! It's always watered down. I'm always afraid of complaining & telling them it isn't as spicy as it should be bc when I do, it's TOO spicy. Wish they would make it right the first time so it's less of a hassle for everyone... Don't order boba here. The boba has a weird hard texture. Kinda feels like edible plastic balls... The food isn't as good. I only go when I'm desperate for Thai food & don't want to drive very far.

This place looked decent. The service was good throughout. As for their Pad Thai, it was missing something besides a little spice. Unfortunately I can't remember what it was as I type this a few days after I ate there. I think next time I will ask if they can add a little kick of spice to it. As for their Thai tea, it is very good that I even asked for more. Just a little note, they will charge you for a Thai Tea to go, but it is worth it if you love Thai tea like I do.

Very friendly staff and good for kids! The chicken curry was deliciously creamy fragrant and the chicken in the curry was so tender that when I bit into the chicken it fell off the bone. We were actually planning to go to Spaghetti Factory and I'm so glad we went to this place instead because it's so good.

This is one of many many Thai joints I've eaten at over the years and must say it's not bad, if your looking for a casual place and in a laid back setting. They are receptacle to modifying their meals to the way I prefer them, clean with less salt, oil and no MSG. The food comes out fast when ordered with little wait time.

love this place. hard to find places with thai bbq chicken and ribs that make your mouth water. this place does and the house pinapple fried rice is the shizz. Accept no substitutes. fyi...this place is not for the hooty snooty, just true foodies need apply since they are usually located in iffy hoods.

This place is right up the street from me so I come here all the time. Sometimes the food comes out a little too greasy and over sauced but overall it is awesome food. I love their pad Thai and fried rice. Hot Sake and singha are offered as well.

Love this place! Family has been coming here for years. Hubby always orders the masuman curry..spicy and delicious! I alternate from the mint chicken and dearest crab dinner! Mint chicken is in a flavorful broth with onions and mint. Dearest crab is like a huge deep fried ball of the wings of angel filling (btw you should try the wings of angel appetizer! Basically stuffed chicken wings) Give this place a try, they are friendly, sometimes slow and you have to ask for refills and such (that's why they get 4 stars overall ) but the food is delicious and worth 5 stars! !

Had very little time to decide what to do around the area and had 2 hours to kill since I missed the Amtrak, I yelled for help aka YELP and came here. I have eaten at a lot of Thai food places since my bf is part Thai. He taught me a few things regarding the restaurants and cuisine in general. To be honest, each restaurant has their specialty, whether it's the BBQ, curry, noodles, tom yum soup etc. Unfortunately I wasn't feeling BBQ that night, so we went with the Drunken Noodles and Curry which I thought were pretty standard Thai dishes. The dishes took a few minutes to cook but came pretty quickly regardless. My sister ordered the Yellow Curry with Chicken. The drunken noodles had perfect sweetness and spiciness for me. I requested mild spicy and it was perfect. The noodles were a tad too soft/overcooked for my taste. But for some it might be really good, definitely comfort food. Comes with decent amount of chicken and veggies. The Curry was average. My sister says it's pretty spicy and she ordered super mild spicy. I think it's just her because she can't stand spicy at all so it's not the restaurant's fault. She says the chicken and veggies were OK but nothing extraordinary. The charge for white rice as well and I would think most people would need rice with their Curry. Very quick meal, service was great. They came to check up on us frequently and didn't reject us when we were at the door 30 minutes before closing. The environment is very relaxing but a bit dark. I could barely see my food. Overall, if I was around the area maybe I'd give it a try with something else, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. Check was about $25.

I thought I had reviewed this place before as I've been here a handful of times but I couldn't find one - so here goes. Ended up here earlier today for lunch with some new friends and I ordered what's seeming to be my favorite dish from this place - Pad See Ew. This time I ordered it with beef. The service was prompt and for lack of a better word to describe it - direct, which I prefer over non-existent. Though service has a lot to do with an overall dining experience, the quality of the food for my taste as far as Thai cuisine goes made me overlook it. The noodles in my dish seemed cooked perfectly. Not under or over done - the beef seemed fresh, not old, chewy or all fat. Even the veggies weren't soggy or bitter - everything was just right. After I added a little chilli paste for some kick - I polished off what I could and I took the rest for leftovers as the serving size of an order is more suited for two, maybe three people depending on the size of their appetites. In the past, I've had their beef and their chicken dishes and I've not had one complaint about yet. Next time I'll be trying their Drunken Noodle dish as I've heard some good things about it.

It's a really small restaurant by the Costco in Fullerton. There's plenty of seating areas available, but the decor feels outdated. The food here is decent. I enjoy the glass noodles here. I tried the calamari, it was alright. The Pad Thai here is a little too sweet for my taste, but it isn't so bad either.

My fiance and I are a huge fan of yellow curry in general at most Thai restaurants. But sadly we didn't wanna order the one here because it came with only bone-in chicken. We asked if we could get it with boneless chicken like the other curries on their menu but they said the yellow one is already pre-made to be that way so we didn't have a choice. Boo. So we got the green curry instead with the boneless chicken. It was surprisingly very spicy but a SNEAKY spicy because it's not red! You wouldn't think it would be spicy but it creeps up on you and your mouth is on fire before you know it! Overall the green curry was just okayy and I wouldn't get it again. But I definitely did enjoy the PAD SEE EW! We got it with the pork and it was overall delicious and flavorful! Way better than the curry. If you like pad see ew, you will most likely enjoy the one here. I've had better Thai food at other Thai restaurants before but this one isn't bad. Safe choice for Thai if you live in the area.

This is one of my go to restaurant when the wife asks where I would like to eat. They give you a lot of food for a very decent price. My favorites here are the S1 (BBQ Chicken), S2 (BBQ Pork Spare Ribs), S4 (Honey Duck) & the Pad See-Ew. Service is good and polite. It does get very busy on a Friday & Saturday Night, so plan accordingly. If you're itching to try Thai food, this would be a good place to start.

The waitresses are always in a hen circle gossiping, and if you try to flag them down, they roll their eyes and have scowls on faces as if you're bothering them, like a mean mom who seems bothered by their little children, then they finish laughing and gossiping, then one of them finally begrudgingly make their way to your table, scowling. This is very typical of their service style, unless you get one of the guy servers. The food's pretty good, though. Vegetable supreme is good. Grilled beef salad is good. Satay's good. Drunken noodle's good. Pad thai's okay, lots o' noodles and carbs. Mussaman and panang curry okay. Catfish plain. And you can't go wrong with their lunch specials, ginger beef, chili beef, etc. But service sucks! The employee table is located in the smack middle back of the restaurant, between the kitchen and the cash register, so you can see plain as day from your table across the room that the servers are purposely delaying doing their job so they could finish gossiping. Really frustrating since the owner of the restaurant is part of that hen circle, too, sometimes. One thing I did learn is that, when they say "sick, sick" they actually mean the number six or sixty or anything six. So now when I go to Thai restaurants and get take-out, and they tell me the amount, "eleven sick five" I automatically know what it means. I'm assuming the letter "x" or the sound x doesn't exist in thai language so it's hard to translate. You learn something new everyday.

Thai Original BBQ has consistently good food. I first visited this location over 10 years ago and the quality and value has not changed. Some of my favorite dishes are Pad See Ew, BBQ Chicken, Angel Wings, and Beef Salad. Everything comes out tasty and in big portions that are great for sharing.

Average thai food.. at decent prices sis got the paenang curry and it was overly oily and looked weird...it didnt look creamy enough and didnt taste like what its supposed to taste like. i got the pad thai and it was just..ok. nothing to write home about.. i've had way better but it wasn't gross enough for me to hate it. it was just decent. probably wont come back here when i want thai food.. the thai iced tea is pretty good though as previous yelpers have stated, the service here is practically non existent. they dont check up on you or anything. granted it was pretty busy during the lunch hours, but still.

I always drive past this place and always wondered if the food was any good cause I would never see people eating there. I went with a coworker and when we walked in, the staff were sitting at a table eating. One of the girls got up and took us to our table. I ordered the BBQ chicken lunch special with a tai iced tea. The food was VERY good and our hostess was wonderful! I'm glad I decided to try this restaurant.

Was craving some thai food, apprently there's not one too near my house so gave this place a try, Drunken noodles was good, but on the menu it said spicy, but it wasn't nowhere near spicy. We came here for lunch because we had a thai food craving, the food is decent, nothing too great. But the worst part was the incompetent waitresses. As the check came my cousin gave them his debit card to pay. A simple routine i believe every restaurant practices - i am not sure though because this task seemed insurmountable to these waitresses as they inexplicably lost his card in the 6 maybe 10 steps it takes from our table to the cash register. We sat there for 10 minutes waiting for the check, while they gave us crazy looks. One of them then asked us if we needed something since we were sitting there for so long. To cut it short, the card was lost into an unknown abyss. It was not my card, but the unexpected inconvenience this was to my cousin was more than annoying. The meal was free but not nearly worth the trouble.

I'm just so disappointed after my cravings for Thai food. And so sad that they didn't have a menu in Thai. The service was on the poor side, not bad, but nothing pleasing. The tom yum koong wasn't on the strong flavor, kind of weak for my taste buds. I asked for somtam, and they don't offer it.

BBQ Chicken (S-1) That's all you really need to know before you look over the menu. The S-1 combo consists of 1/2 bbq chicken served with shrimp fried rice and a portion cup of their sweet and sour sauce. I always ask for more sauce to pour over my rice. Yes, you can get the pad-thai, pad-see-ew, and tom yong koong, which are all good choices. However, the store's name is thai BBQ; it would be a shame if you didn't get anything that wasn't. The chicken is tender and juicy. And once it's dipped in the sauce, paired with the picked jalapenos, and garnished with a spoonful of the fried rice -- you'll be glad you ordered this dish. The restaurant itself is a little run down, but it's casual and comfortable. If they are busy, make sure you sign your name on the clipboard hanging from the fish tank and wait until they call you.

It's kinda sad when someone from your party wants to order more food after your normal dinner when you are hungry. After fifteen to thirty minutes of waiting time, we got more pad thai and salmon. My auntie was starving for that salmon... Although I love the food (BBQ sticks, chicken, pad thai, drunken noodles), maybe the service needed more work. Sad thing was, it did not look busy for two hours. Maybe the server probably forgot what we ordered... Then again, it was my brother's choice to come here for his birthday. It's cool for a party of twelve only if you are going to combine like-tables. Tables and chairs except for those leather seats for the small parties. Good food, okay service. If you do get hungry after dinner somehow, try to wait longer for a backup dish.

I happened to stop by here out of random but never again will I walk into this restaurant. The bf ordered the chicken yellow curry and I ordered the beef panang curry. It was a weekend mid afternoon but they were still offering the lunch special so we took advantage of it. Turns out, it was a plate of oil drenched curry, where you can literally see the oil layer floating at the top. Also, each of our meat weren't boneless (aren't curry meat usually boneless??) and they were such giant chunks that unless we get our fingers dirty and smothered in curry sauce, they were quite impossible to eat. We somehow managed to work our way around the bones with the spoons... On top of that, the only other highlights of this lunch special were their inexpensive price of $6~$7 and the side salad which consisted iceberg lettuce, a few slices of tomato, cucumbers and shredded carrots with massive amount of honey mustard dressing drenched on top. And not to forget to mention, the young lady who took our bill and cash never returned to the table with our change. She just assumed that she earned it, when she literally did nothing to make our dining experience good. FAIL.

Wish I could give zero stars because that's how much food/service I got ... zero. Walked in - Two different, large signs say, "Please wait to be seated," ... so I waited, between the signs and a conspicuously empty table. I got completely ignored ... no one even bothered to ask me to wait ... so I left. Epic FAIL service.

Had the: Pad Thai Lard Nar Drunken Noodles It was pretty good. My baseline is Original Thai BBQ in Cerritos which is spectacular. Pad Thai was probably the best of the three that I ate Lard Nar with beef was decent but the beef was very tough. Drunken Noodle didn't have enough basil and the added tomato threw me off. Not to say it was bad, but I'm just used to the dish being different.

Since there are no Thai places near where I live, so it is a treat when I come out here. I am never disappointed with the service, my glass stays full when my drink runs low, and the portions are generous. This is my go-to for Thai food.

I've been coming here since it opened (in fact I remember when it was a red white and blue America themed burger joint). While I enjoy the food (LOVE the satay!), over the last few years the service has declined so deplorably I don't think I will ever be returning. Todays visit: Arrived at 1pm to people standing in line through the doorway. Uh-oh...Is it THAT busy? Nope! Plenty of empty tables, just nobody seemed to notice the two smallish parties ahead of us. Fine, we'll wait. A harried-looking busboy seated everyone fairly efficiently. We looked at the menu, decided what we wanted, and set the menus down on the edge of the table. Despite said busboy attending to the table across from us, and a server dropping off, picking up, and returning the receipt to that table, we went untended. Twenty three minutes later we left, having not even had water or someone saying they would be right with us or ANY OF THE OTHER THINGS A SERVER MIGHT DO IF A PLACE IS BUSY. My wife thought I was a little crazy when I told her I felt like the service was getting crappier, but she saw the light once SHE was the one who was hungry and ignored. Never friggin' again! Thai Original BBQ, you have become Thai Steaming Pile of Turds to me. Note: We went to another Thai place we hadn't tried before (near St. College and Chapman) had appetizers within 10 minutes and lunch within 20 minutes. THAT'S how you run a restaurant!

This is ground level for Thai food eaters. You ever want to try Thai food, this is a great place to introduce yourself to the cuisine. It's not hardcore authentic, but it gets the job done. My favorites: the Thai BBQ chicken, Satay, and Beef Panang. The BBQ chicken is best served drenched with the sweet spicy sauce. This sauce is crack cocaine! Satay is great if you're a meat eater.. it's always cooked perfectly and if I wasn't allergic to peanuts, i would dip it in the peanut sauce like there's no tomorrow. The beef panang is mild compared to a lot of beef panangs I've had. The meat is soft,.. but it could be softer and more tender. But I still have to get this because I love the panang curry. Ask for the chili peppers on the side for extra heat. Honorable mentions: The Tom Yung Goong soup, Tom Khai Khai, and the pineapple fried rice! Wash it all down with some Thai iced tea.. you now have been baptized my friend. Thai food is my weakness, and maybe that's why I can't give this place anything lower than 4 stars. Thai food Ninjas unite!

5/14/2011 Tried the chili beef and BBQ chicken...be warned unless u order a special u have to pay extra for rice! We always keep going back to this everytime..but I still don't have my mind made up about this place...their service is spotty and the food isn't all that great...

So I was craving spicy Thai Food like a MoFo. I will admit I am a thai newbie and can barely even pronounce the names of the dishes but I have had amazing thai food in amsterdam, new york and even Anaheim. It's always been super spicy and life-changing. After an extensive Yelp search this place seemed promising. Again I feel like I can't judge because i'm no thai expert but I'm sorry Thai BBQ I'm just not a fan. I ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken, 'extra spicy please!'. It barely ranked on my internal spice meter. I guess I should have told them 'please make as SPICY AS POSSIBLE! I want my mouth to be on fire' but I know how places are, especially in Orange County and they don't want to hurt our poor palates and I know how sensitive customers can be to spice, after working at restaurants for 7 years it's quite annoying when you serve someone a hamburger or salad and they look at you with terror in their eyes "is something SPICY in here??? I don't DO spicy." ugh. Anyways so it wasn't spicy. It was also super greasy and unfulfilling. All it had was the noodles, a few pieces or broccoli and tiny pieces of unidentified meat. I know I ordered chicken but part of me feels like I accidently got the wrong order. *hangs head* I totes failed at finding Thai in my area. Dangit!

I have come here for years for the beef satay, combination fried rice, spring rolls, and drunken noodles. I used to live in the area, but have moved to Orange since. Whenever I get a craving for Thai food, I make a drive to Thai BBQ. It is definitely worth the drive for me.

The first time I came here a few years, I was soo impressed. It used to be so delicious! But I came back recently and it seems like they just don't care about the food anymore. Everything was unpleasant and tasted so unauthentic. I can't even imagine how much more the quality is going to decline over the next few years

First off came here on a Sunday evening. We had a pretty big group of people, but when we arrived, the restaurant was not packed. It took forever to get our food, but since it was a bigger party, it was understandable, except for the fact that everyone got their food except for my friend. She waited an extra 20 minutes after we all received our entrees. Service was horrible. We asked for to go boxes like 3 times and the check and it took forever for the waiter to get them to us. I would most likely not come here again. Food was so so average Thai food. I mean you can't really go wrong with Pad Thai and Thai BBQ Chicken and the service was just bad.

I've been here a couple times and I've never been disappointed. The servers are friendly, the food is good and the prices are reasonable. The pork ribs are a must order. It comes with fried rice too! Perfect combination. They give you a pretty generous amount of well-marinated ribs that burst with juicy flavor. They're cooked perfectly and you're day is complete after. I also like their shrimp salad and tom yum soup. Their pad see ew was pretty good too! For the shrimp salad, I recommend getting the dressing on the side or else it'll be too salty. Definitely want to come back and try other things on their menu.

Its not the same anymore. The S1 I ordered was not fresh and dry. I asked the waitress to change my order and she did. Still the taste is different than usual.

This place has been serving consistently good food since I was introduced to the restaurant about 5 years ago. This place can get pretty packed so if you have a large group so expect to wait. Also since the restaurant isnt very big, the seating is limited. They use to open up the back patio area for large parties but the last time I was there it looked like they use that area for storage now. So as my friend Miyeon has said in her review, one of the best dishes here is the S-1 BBQ Chicken plate. It comes with rice and 2-3 pieces of chicken (depending on the size) on the bone. Typically its dark meat, usually the leg quarter, and a wing. I would also recommend the satay chicken or beef skewers dinner. I find that they give you a lot more skewers than most other places. Usually ill eat half and take the other half home for lunch. The noodles and curry dishes are good here too as well as the beef salad. I really havent had any bad experieces with the food. Service is decent but can get slow at times when the restaurant is packed but they try their best to accomodate everyone. The decor is plain so probably not the best place for a date but definitely a great place for a casual lunch or dinner. The restaurant is located behind Costco so there is plenty of parking and can be easily accessible from the 91 freeway.

I need to try this place again and update the review. First time experience was mixed only because I had no idea what Angel Wings were but ordered them anyway. It was good, but then the texture and shape started to bug me to the point where I couldn't eat no more. Next time I'll stick to things I know, like Pad See Ew and Combo Fried Rice.

Pretty good thai food for a very decent price. They have a pretty good lunch menu which includes pad thai, thai bbq chicken, and pad see ew. I ordered the thai bbq chicken with fried rice and it was pretty good. It was less than $10 and definitely worth the price!

Eh...watered down Thai food if you ask me. They could put a lil more effort into decorating this place. It's depressing. Food isn't even spicy! What Thai food is not spicy by choice!? It's pretty good and decent but cmon. Most of the food is sweet and tangy which is good for kids. Variety is not terrible. Prices are really decent and the size is decent as well. Pad Thai is too sweet for me and too orangey. When I ordered the fried rice to be spicy, Hot Cheetos are spicier then them. Sad. Wouldn't come here by choice.

Came here with a friend, who found out about this place from another friend. I ordered the S-2, spared pork ribs served with shrimp fried rice. When reading the menu, I was puzzled why the shrimp fried rice is the "cheap one" and it would cost extra to substitute it for chicken, beef, or pork fried rice. (At other Asian restaurants, shrimp fried rice is usually the more expensive one). The menu did say the rice was a "generous portion." And I was quite hungry and hoped for the best. When my order came, the ribs was a bit burnt. Nevertheless it tasted good; the meat was soft and easy to tear from the bone. There was some flavor. It was the shrimp fried rice that bothered me. It wasn't hot, but rather it was warm-cool. My friend ordered a dish that included the same type of fried rice and confirmed the temperature was not up to par. I suspect there was a heaping batch of it ready, but not many customers showed up. So it had a hey-I-made-this-an-hour-ago taste, which emphasized the side dish's blandness. Even though there weren't many customers, the service felt slow when it came to paying the bill. Perhaps it was understaffed. Someday in the future, I'll come by again and try a noodle-based dish. If a friend orders shrimp-fried-rice (or with different meat), I'll sample it and see if it has the hey-i-made-this-just-for-you taste.

I am originally form NorCal, and whenever my family would come to visit, we go to the Cerritos location. So I've been going to Thai BBQ for like 10 years. Since I've moved to Anaheim, I conveniently go here to Fullerton now. bottom line is that LOVE THIS PLACE. I only order one thing and one thing only: BEEF SATAY with the shrimp fried rice. SOOOO GOOD especially with the peanut sauce SOOOOOO GOOOOD. And this night I've actually ordered something new, and got the Fried Banana ala mode. It LOOKS AMAZING. and tasted AMAZING. Definitely GREAT for sharing. ^_^

It's OK. Not as good as the one in LA. Thai BQQ has been a restaurant my family and I always go to after Sunday Service (--one in LA). The soup in this one (Fullerton) not good at all. (spicy seafood soup with coconut milk). Service is OK they hardly ever passed by to ask if we needed anything else. I wanted hot sauce and it took them 15-20 minutes to bring it. Only way I'll come back is if I was forced to.

The food here is passable but not very good. I had the pad thai, which didn't taste much like pad thai. My friend's food was served cold and the only reason he didn't send it back was because he didn't want them to throw it away. On the bright side, parking is ample, and the decor is fairly nice.

Thai Original BBQ is A-OK! When I came here, I ordered the Thai BBQ Chicken a la carte. The chicken was tender and juicy. Skin was nicely charred and full of flavor. I really wanted to give them four stars. But the wait was way(!) too long! The waitress did not seat my party for about ten minutes even though there was a table open. Also, after we ordered our food, we waited another ten minutes and then told the waitress that we were in a rush and needed the food quickly. Still, another ten minutes passed and then we finally got our food. 3 stars!

I love Thai BBQ but I must admit that over the years the service at this place has gone to the dumps. There is a young Mexican girl that works here and boy does she give some dirty looks to the customers. Yes you are a pretty girl but with the nasty attitude you need to go. Customers should always be right, right? Good thing I still like the food here. Disappointed though. Service sucks!

Tried this out for the first time as it was nearby my office. The server seemed in a hurry to take my order. When I inquired abt a few items, he said he'll come back to me and went to attend other table. There are not too many options for vegetarians & the food wasn't tasty. I had to add salt, pepper, soy spice sauce & vinegar to make it tastier. Server could have done a better job @ explaining the different taste levels (1-5). Another turnoff...had to pay for Tofu although it is part of the veg menu. Or should be a part or as a sub to meat/beef. May not return next time (:

One of the best Thai food restaurant within the vicinity of Fullerton, Brea, and La Habra. I love the Drunken Noodles and their Kai Yang chicken. It is always consistent every time we order these dishes. It could get pretty busy on weekends since the place isn't too big. Overall, if you don't want to drive to Rowland Heights area for Thai food, this is the go to place that are both delicious and reasonably priced.

Best Thai in Fullerton. Cant order without our spicy coconut soup (Tom kha ga). So delicious. Try the BBQ chicken, spring roll, pad see ew, and green curry. Incredible and fast service - a plus! Will def be back over and over.

S-1, S-2, and Pad Thai... that's it! Not sure about everything else because these are the only 3 that I get EVERYTIME! If you're coming for lunch, it's L-1 and L-2. Their sauce is magic is all I can say.

I've been going to Thai BBQ since my college days. It has been consistent through all the years. The recipe stays within the family. Out of all the Thai BBQs that I have been to, from West Covina, Diamond Bar, Chino, Las Vegas, this one is the best in my opinion. They all provide polite and humble service. I like this location and will continue to because they give decent size portions, their water is acceptable, and I have not received anything overcooked and slightly burned at this location. My Favorites: Combination Soup S-1 Kai Yang (BBQ Chicken) Thai Tea

We finally decided to randomly give this place a shot. Gio is a drunk so he doesn't usually venture that far down the street towards Orangethorpe because he keeps his munchies closer to DTF. I thought I would break him out of his habbits and bring him here. This particular evening we even had Elise with us, so a girls opinion on food probably mean a whole lot more then two raging men. Got here and got a number to wait our turn. Due to its popularity on a Saturday night we had to wait about 30 mins to get seated. The menu is your standard thai selections. We ended up ordering pad thai, fried rice, and bbq chicken with a side of steamed rice. The food didn't take too long, and we managed to have some wonderful conversations during that time. When it finally came, we ran out of table space to place the plates. This place is all about the proportions! The food taste from good to great. I can't think of one item that sticks out more then another, however the proportions were definitely solid for us ragers that need a good meal before we go out and get schwasted. Gio wasn't too impressed because back in Italy they have way better Thai food apparently. Elise and I were satisfied and thought it was good. We didn't finish almost half an entree plate of items and ended up just leaving it there. Thai Original BBQ is definitely worth what you pay for. Come hungry!

We've been customers of this restaurant for years and are always happy with the service and food. The Phad Thai is the best I've had. Try the S8 Satay dinner. It's a huge meal that can be shared. The steak satay and peanut sauce is absolutely delicious.

Open late at night. Big plus. Normally a 3-star location, but with limited choices in surrounding area late at night... Oh yeahhh, i'm a fan! Try the pineapple fried rice and the BBQ chicken rice plate.... lemme say that again... GET THE BBQ CHICKEN PLATE AND PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE!! Okay okay, You don't HAVE TO, but they are definitely the best "standard" dishes you can always count on for this place. In fullerton, it's usually take the short trip from CSUF to go to Thai Basil, or spend the extra 10 minutes to come out to Thai BBQ. If you have the time to spare, take a trip out here. It'll be worth your while. I don't come out here on a weekly basis, but when I do, I always walk away happy! Thai BBQ, YAY i'M A FAN!

I can't believe I haven't written a review on this place yet. This is the sort of restaurant that I get a craving for about once a fiscal quarter. I have tried getting adventurous with the menu on a few occasions, and I have almost always regretted it. I really just stick with the BBQ Ribs, excellent flavor, tender meat, and very satisfying. I also like the garlic beef here, but really, its all about those damn ribs for me. But, I work less then a mile from this place, and my favorite bowling alley is mere blocks away, so I am in the neighborhood all the time. And I only eat here four times a year? Clearly, I am in like with Thai Original BBQ, but I'm not in love it.

Ugh. I'm sorry Thai BBQ, you just did not hit the spot for me. If I wasn't so hungry I probably wouldn't have eaten so much of your oily/greasy curry. My goodness. Their panang curry is gross. It came out with a HUGE and I mean HUGE amount of oil at the top of the curry. I tried mixing it around but the oil was just too much. The meat was also pretty fatty. The flavor of the curry was almost spot on though. But why so much oil? You tell me.. I really wish I didn't order the curry from this place and tried something else. My friend said their chicken is very good and that's what they're "famous" for. If you want curry though, go somewhere else! Bad service too.

I got the Sate Dinner...omg that thing is so huge you could probaby get 3 meals out of it! The portions are really generous and the spicy chicken soup is realllllllly good! But I've always been a fan of tom yum! Lemon Grass...DROOOOL! I really like how attentive they are! I would probably come back here! Came after church with a couple friends and it was a good hearty meals. Satisfied the hungover friends as well as the friends who were hungry from being at church all morning! :) We're an eclectic bunch! ;)

Okay so at Thai Original BBQ it really depends on what you order... Lets stick to the basics. All the Soups are good so that's a go The Pad Thai sucks so steer clear. The BBQ chicken is above average but can be a little dry The Druken Noodles are AMAZING! a try before you die plate. Make sure you ask them to make them really spicy and pick all three meats. That's shrimp, beef and chicken.... Everything else will disappoint you.

The lunch menu is priced well with large portions. The pad Thai was $6.99 for lunch and I had plenty left over for another meal. My brother really like S4 which was like a stuffed chicken served with rice. I would say the service is where they fall short. You have to wait to be seated so when you walk through the doors, no one acknowledges you. They also are not the friendliest of people. It's the closest Thai place near me and the quality of food is pretty good so we come back.

  • Paul S.

After 20+ years as a traveling salesman, and literally dozens of truly horrible meals, I can honestly say the meal I was served today at this place was the worst I have ever had. When I mentioned it to the hostess, no effort was made whatsoever to make it right. Looking back on it, I am probably fortunate they did not offer me something else to eat. I shouldn't have paid the bill, but it wasn't worth fighting them over the $12. If you are considering this place, I would suggest considering an alternative.

Pls don't come here for the Phad Thai come here for the Special Dinner dishes fool! No matter what Thai BBQ you go to the food is always good. The secret is that the real good stuff is the House Special dishes. Never get the noodles or other dishes because you may give it the okay or be dissapointed. If you want noodles go somewhere else. The House Special Dishers is where its at. In my opinion this place isn't really authentic Thai food, but its more Americanized, but it's sure good. Recommendations: 1) You can't go wrong with the S1 BBQ chicken. Its alot of food and the orange sauce lets you melt. Just make sure you ask for more sauce. 2) When you order the S8 Sate dinner make sure you get beef and not the chicken. If you get the chicken you may (key word may) be dissapointed. Its like ordering chickent breast at Ruths Chris. Its a lot of food, and if your a buff or hefty individual this is the meal for you. 3)S3 The BBQ Spare ribs are pretty bomb as well just ask for extra sauce. 4) S9 or S10 The Ruby chicken Dinner is also bomb. Its a fried cornish hen which comes with Rice and the famous orange sauce. 5) No matter what you get you have to have some of the agent orange sauce.

came here on a wednesday for lunch w a friend around 140. the place was somewhat busy. we were quickly seated in a booth. we already knew what we wanted so ordered after our waters came out. pad thai and pad see ew w chicken. the food did not take long. the pad see ew was served first. which came w regular broccoli and not chinese broccoli. the pad thai came out much later and by that time the pad see ew was no longer hot. they really should serve the food at the sime time because it was not as appetizing. i was disappointed, again, when the pad thai came out because the bean sprouts were already mixed in w the noodles and not served on the side. this made the sprouts limp and soggy. the service was good. my cup was never empty. prices are not bad. wish the food was a bit more authentic. they should really get rid of the fish tank because it was not pleasant looking at dirty water while i was eating lunch. i keep coming here because i am comfortable w the place but it is mediocre or maybe even less than that. for the two dishes the total was under $18, w/o tip.

Probably my least favorite thai food in OC. This county is rich in culture and food and I am surprised that this restaurant has stayed in business as long as it has. Their phad thai is below average, their Tom Kha soup has the wrong mushrooms in it, and both times that I have gotten it here, was almost flavorless and the broth has split. I gave it two tries because I live close and thought maybe it was just the day that I went, but it wasnt. I probably will never return.

My wife and I go here pretty often. We order the exact same dish everytime we go. I always order The BBQ spare ribs(S-2) and my wife order the Lat-nah beef. The spare ribs just falls of the bones and its has a sweet tang of flavor. I love it. The fried rice is awesome with the ribs. The portion is is just right in my opinion. Usually 4-5 pieces of ribs and a whole lot of fried rice. This is not an authentic Thai dish but its SUPER good. I ALWAYs order this dish, ALWAYS. I go there enough that the waitress knows what I want. The restaurant should consider a makeover. The restaurant is usually busy during dinner time but the wait is never to bad. ** Make sure you order the BBQ spare ribs. YUM!!!

I've been a fan of this place for years, but sadly have to give them a 3 out of 5 stars in this latest review. The food is not the problem. Its the portion. I know the economy is bad, but does it mean they have to skimp on their quantity?? Before posting this review, I ate the same food on 2 different visits. We ordered the BBQ chicken, which should be a 1/2 chicken and garnish. Normally a 1/2 chicken should satisfy 2 people. Both my husband and I literally stared at the chicken... to the point where the waiter said "is there something wrong?". We pointed to the chicken and said "its a little.. small?". Both times we got the skinniest chicken in the world. The breast was the size of a wing.... or I don't think we got a full breast. They make El Pollo Loco look supersized. Yes, that's how puny it was. The drumstick was the size of a cornish game hen's leg. Truly small. In addition, we ordered phad tai noodles. We had a total of 3 shrimp, and I the other meats I do not recall eating. There were plenty of noodles (which is inexpensive) but considering the cost, I don't feel we got what we paid for. Lastly we ordered the garlic beef. The portion there was just ok. Enough for 1 1/2 people. For the price we paid, compared to the quantity of food provided, this place should be ashamed. People come back because it is tasty... and maybe that's why they are still in business. Go if you want good food, but don't come if you're hungry.. unless you plan on spending a lot of money to fill you up.

no complaints on my usual order.. which is S1 and S2... however, i was somewhat disappointed on the garlic short ribs...its been awhile since i have ordered this side dish. somehow it was garnish with celantro and came wet. from what i recall, it was your straight dry, sauteed garlic short ribs. i wasn't expecting this kind of flavor. a very much disappointed yelper ova hea:/

This place is the BEST! They have super-friendly staff, the food comes out quickly, and the food is always delicious. I always get the beef satay dinner and the spicy shrimp soup. I'm sure everything else is just as good. I would recommend this place to everyone.

My boyfriend and I had dinner at this Thai restaurant a couple of nights ago. We had been here a couple of times before, and we like the food here. The staff here are very friendly, and the place is cozy and intimate. We ordered the Spicy Shrimp Soup and the Sate Steak Dinner, which came with Shrimp Fried Rice. The food here is delicious! The steak skewers tasted awesome, while the soup is always a favorite of ours. Prices are very reasonable. We'll probably be back here again soon!

My friend and I came here after work last week. I'd been eyeing this place for a while, since it's right across the street from my gym. She said they had excellent bbq beef, so off we went! The food here is really, really delicious! We got the beef sate and Pad Thai to share and it was alot of food! Everything was really good and the prices weren't bad either. I think this restaurant could be cleaner. It was a bit beaten-looking. But all things considered, I'll come back!

  • Brian P.

Not bad of a place, at all. I would definitely recommend their BBQ chicken with fried rice. The chicken is grilled to a pretty good texture, retaining juiciness and a slight hint of that BBQ grilled taste. The fried rice is nothing special; it's what you'd get from say...B-bay, C-bay, C-station, or any other thai restaurant in Rowland Heights. The pad thai is very decent! The texture of the noodles is just about right and not too sweet to where other joints make them. Shrimp is fresh and grilled very well. I'm pretty excited to try their tom yum soup as other people were ordering them all around. You know it's gotta be good if it's popular! Service is mediocre. Our first time here, the server was quite attentive for the first ten minutes. It became noticeable that my glass of water remained empty for another ten minutes. From there on, I had to flag the server down. It depends, they were semi-busy. Also, the interior decor needs a revamp. Badly. After watching Kitchen Impossible, you notice quite a few more things about restaurant layouts with a tad of cockiness.

The food and service has gone downhill. The server we had never came back to check on us nor the food that was served. Maybe if he did he would have noticed that I ordered steamed rice not fried rice because I am allergic to shrimp. So the $14 plate was untouchable, so that was a shame. The bigger shame is I did take a bite before noticing the shrimp and I broke out. So thanks Thai Original BBQ for that.

Updated 01/23/2008: Came here for a birthday lunch. Panang beef is still as excellent. Service is really fast. We have 10 people and we could get in and out within 1 hour. Their lunch special definitely has more selection. The wing of angel looked good but it tastes like Vietnamese eggroll. Kinda weird. I never had Wing of Angel but I am pretty sure it shouldn't taste like Vietnamese eggroll. Next time, I probably try their drunken noodle. The service is fast, which is a big plus for people who has only 1 hour lunch break. ----------------------------- I only come here for its Panang Beef. Very very tasty! Occasionally, they do have a different cut of meat and it can be very fatty and oily. The mint chicken was good but might be a bit oily. Overall, it's one of the favorite places for lunch take-out since it's near work!

My husband and I have always been fans of this restaurant for our Thai food fix. Unfortunately, we had not visited in a long time and our last visit a month ago was less then great. The food seemed bland. As if they have changed cooks, I don't know. We ordered the cucumber salad and where surprised by the serving size. It's usually enough for two people to share, but they cut back on the size. The waiters share tables, which causes confusion. We didn't get the rice we had ordered, and when we pointed this out at the end of our meal, the server seemed less than interested or apologetic. I'm afraid that with so many great choices out there, what use to be our go to place for Thai food might become our second choice. We will give it a try in the future once more. We arrived excited to eat, but left disappointed in the experience. Sorry T.O.BBQ.

We came on a friday night so it became packed pretty quickly. Service was quick to order but went downhill quickly after that. I had ordered Pad thai which came out in about 5 minutes only they brought me something else which was not Pad thai. Before I could say anything another waiter wisked it away and said sorry that's not yours and took it to another table. Within a few minutes my order came out, while waiting for my husbands food he finally said you might as well start while it's hot. My dinner was half eaten by this time we were bought eatting it when they brought a completely wrong dinner to my husband. He ordered beef this was fish big difference. By the time he finally got the 1st waiters attention he was alittle annoyed. Finally they brought out the correct dish 15 minutes after mine had been served. Then the check came and they had charged us for 3 dinners not 2 by now I was more than annoyed. It took awhile to get that straighten out. While the food was good it wasn't great and because of the screw ups we won't go back.

This place is my go to when I'm in Fullerton. We always order: S-1 BBQ CHICKEN- chicken is ALWAYS so moist. The sweet sauce they give you is very tasty S-8 BEEF SATAY- I like the beef way better then the chicken. The peanut sauce they give you is very good. CUCUMBER SALAD- Goes very well with the above foods. I'm never disappointed with their food!

Came here for lunch. The service was okay. the waiter guy likes to take his time holding the food and talking to his coworkers for several minutes as the food gets cold. THe food wasnt that good. Got the pad thai and I have had better at near by places.

My family are regulars to this restaurant for well over 10 years. BBQ is definitely what they specialize, and I highly recommend their beef sate and BBQ chicken. The beef is seared perfectly and packed with flavor and goes so well with the peanut sauce. Chicken is fall off the bone tender. Their yellow curry chicken is also highly recommended, the sauce is thick and doesn't use a lot of fish sauce like most other Thai restaurants so you get a cleaner curry flavor. The place is does get pretty crowded during peak dinner hours and the quality of the food and service can suffer as a result. I recommend coming either early dinner or lunch where the quality and service are usually very good.

Service was bad and the food was not much better. The sent my soup out with the huge heating system thing but it had no heat it was just for looks. Nobody seemed to know what they were doing.

THE SKINNY: Decent sized restaurant located in an area of Fullerton that is filled with different types of cuisines. Reasonable prices for a standard sit-down restaurant. Not a bad place to take the family. THE GOOD: Been to this place many times before and not once have I left the place disappointed. Reasonable prices for the portions you get during dinner time. $8.75 for their Spicy Chicken Soup. The broth is great. $6.95 for the Fried Calamari. Not tastiest calamari I've had but the breading was light and really crispy. I really enjoyed it. $7.95 for the Pad Thai. It was good but nothing special about it. My absolute favorite is the BBQ Spare Ribs. The meat just melts off the bone. Truly amazing. I highly recommend it. Service was pretty fast. Wasn't much of wait at all. Aside from the soup, everything came out all at once. THE BAD: Pretty simple place. It lacked the ambiance of a 5-star restaurant. The waiters were pretty busy. They did a good job taking our order and attending to our needs in the beginning. However, after the food was served they never bothered to come around and ask how you were doing, nor did they come by to refill your empty glasses of water.

I checked this spot out after class since I go to school in Fullerton. Overall, I'd have to say I was pleasantly surprised but not impressed. The decor seems a bit tacky with the myriad of little asian trinkets adorning the place. It's also a bit old. (Is it just me does every asian small biz/restaurant seem to have either a little buddah statue, a statue of a tacky cat with one paw up or both?) Our server was polite, but her English wasn't great and I couldn't get a good recommendation from her. If I ask a server for beer or food recommendations, I expect a solid answer. But... it's a Thai restaurant. I tried Singha, a Thai beer. I've never had Thai beer but it was like a really good Heineken. I liked it, though I don't like Heinekens so I'm glad I tried something new. I ordered the Sate Combo and the food was good. The meat had a lot of flavor and the sides were okay. The price was also pretty reasonable. $8 for the Sate Combo and $4 for a bottle of beer.

My husband and I ate here the other day and based on the previous reviews we ordered the BBQ spare ribs and the chicken pad see ew. The ribs were amazing! The sauce was a perfect mixture of sweet and spicy (very mild). My husband really liked the noodles, to me they weren't anything special compared to other Thai restaurants. I really want to try the crab fried rice next time. The service was good. We were sat right away and served our drinks and food quickly. They sort of lagged a little with the tab though. Overall it was good food for a decent price. The portions were large so we had yummy left overs the next day. We'll definitely eat there again.

I really enjoyed this place. I'm tired of the pho place in the same shopping center so I was very excited to eat anywhere else. I ordered the BBQ chicken, it tasted pretty authentic. Nice charred flavor. The shrimp fried rice just okay. Shrimp is small.

Unlike a lot of BBQ places I've been to, Thai Original actually has good BBQ. The only problem is the rest of the menu and the restaurant itself. Food: If you come here you have to try the BBQ ribs ( yelp.com/biz_photos/zpvu… ). They're so amazingly tender that the meat flakes off the bone. Not only is the texture mouth-wateringly good, but the sauce they put on it is also tongue-pleasing. As for the other dishes, the panang curries are watery and the pad thai here ( yelp.com/biz_photos/zpvu… ) is some of the worst I've had. I usually love pineapple fried rice ( yelp.com/biz_photos/zpvu… ), but the stuff I tried here was a little soggy. The curry veggie dish I tried was also watery and the veggies tasted like they had just been pulled out of the ground (not in a good way). Atmosphere: Some reviewers have said it's not too clean here but it's also not too dirty. I'm just going to come out and say it: It's dirty. Really dirty. One trip to the bathroom and you'll see what I mean. This restaurant has been around since 1984 and it looks like it has rarely been cleaned since. Food is splattered on every wall and picture and there is a thick layer of dust on many surfaces that aren't regularly used by diners. Service: Fast. Nothing exceptional, good or bad. Synopsis: If you want good Thai BBQ, go here. If you want good Thai anything else, avoid.

I usually eat at the one in LA but living in OC makes it hard to get out there all the time. This place is a lot more greasy than the LA one, but still yummy. I always get the combo fried rice and pad thai. Sometimes I'll get other things too, but those are always a must :) I will def be back many more times.

This is another one of the food places I've been as a young child and I say this is still one of my favorites. Fast place (their 'rush hour' is at dinnertime yet it's still fast) with very lovely food. I always have the S1 (barbecue with generous portions of rice with 2 pieces of shrimp, of course with the fried rice drizzled with green onions) and sometimes the family orders a plate of chow mein... delicious as well! They always put quite a bit of fried rice and their sauce! Delicious with pretty much everything. It's basically sweet and sour sauce, but much better-tasting.

This is probably one of my favorite Thai food restaurants! They have the BEST grilled beef salad here, at least to my likings. It's amazing!! If you like limey/lemony with a bit of spice, then you have to try this. They give you a good portion of food for a good price. (NOTE: If you're ordering the beef salad to-go, make sure you have them bag the salad in plastic separately so it doesn't spill everywhere). I also usually order the paw se eww and that is pretty decent as well. I've tried the sticky rice with Mango here, and it's also one of my favored places to order it at, just because they don't put too much coconut stuff in it and it's not as mushy.

This is comfort food to me. When I'm sick there is nothing better than a big fat bowl of Tom Yum to make me feel loads better. That or a bowl of pho. But yeah anyways, Thai Original has been one of my stops for years. I like their sate (its nice and tender, well seasoned) some places are just too dry. Also ordered the pad see ew, what can I say? I like sweet foods. Throw back a few Thai Iced Teas, Oh boy, that hits the spot.

Bomb!! I work a few blocks away from the OG in LA and that place has always been my favorite Thai place. Even with the shoddy wait staff. Recently found out through friends that their are 2 near my new house. One in Cerritos and this one in Fullerton. The service and the food at the Fullerton restaurant TOTALLY surpasses the OG restaurant. WOW! The Beef Sate was 10x more flavorful, more meat, the rice wasn't as good but still good yk? The Pad Thai and BBQ Chicken outranks the OG too. And the service.....busted again. Nice ladies. Too busy to be at your beck and call but are polite and get the job done. Love this place! Cerritos had worse food and service then both of the others!!

Amazing Thai food restaurant for vegetarians - they serve non veg as well. The service is fast and friendly. I've been here a number of times and the food is always tasty and delicious. Some of my favorites are the pad Thai, pad see ew, and drunken noodles. The ambiance is more casual so it's not a place to visit if you want something upscale. But if you want good Thai eats this is one of my favorites -dare i say my most favorite?

Thai restaurants are a dime a dozen. Thai BBQ, on the otherhand, is less common but so damn good! I really wish we had some, or even one, back home in Seattle! I've been here several times, and I don't come here for the usual Thai dishes--I head straight for the specials menu everytime. The sate, in particular, is where it's at. Whatever meat you choose, you get 7 delicious skewers served with peanut dipping sauce atop a bed of fried rice. Such a good deal for $10! It's simple, savory goodness. The 1/2 chicken is also bomb and another one of their great values. If you come here and stick to your usual noodles and curries, you're totally missing out.

This place was PACKED on a Saturday night. Our party of 6 had a reservation so we were easily seated. I love my food spicy so I opted for the Drunken Noodles. Broccoli, tomato, onions, noodles, pork, and lots of flavor made me a very happy camper. I also had a taste of the S1? The ribs were delicious and the fried rice nice and soft. I loved the food but have to say, the service was extremely lacking. Our waiter got two orders wrong and had to be reminded several times that we had asked for extra waters. He also didn't seem to be listening very attentively. I will probably take my food to go the next time I come here.

Food is Great, but service could be better. We came in and were waiting to be seated and no one even acknowledged us for about 10 min. If the food wasn't so good we would have left. It just seemed like maybe they didn't have enough staff. The pad thai is really yummy as well as the chicken satay with peanut sauce.

Thai BBQ and Toi on Sunset are my two favorite thai spots! The pad thai and pad se ew are the best... the tom yum kai (chicken & mushroom soup) is perfect. I don't care so much for the actual bbq-ed meat and am more of a noodles/rice kind of girl so the noodle entrees are amazing. The pad thai comes with shrimp unless you request another kind of meat. Their thai ice tea and coffee are better than a lot of places I've been. My boyfriend and I have gone to this place several times and have never been disappointed!! You should check it out.

so i did this backwards, i ordered my lunch then read the reviews, holy BP oil spill batman! how much oil does curry need? i swear this is the gods honest truth, may he strike my taste buds dead if i'm lying but there was over a 1/4 inch of oil floating on top of my cup of food (i ordered it to go). I tried to stir it, i tried to shake it, i even sacrificed a paper totem of a non-descript animal like creature in hopes that this lake of canola would just meld into something resembling curry but nothing worked. i went back a week later to try the ribs which a lot of reviews said to stick with, they weren't bad but they weren't great. I'll stick with Pho 88 next door thank you.

I come in here once or twice a month for take out for the family. I drive up from Newport because as far as I know, there is nothing like it down here. This place is a really good deal for what you get. Portions are large. Two orders of beef satay, a couple of different noodle dishes and a bbq chicken entree is more than enough for four people and it will run you mid-$40s for take out. That's a deal where I come from. THE FOOD: It's all about awesome meat on a stick. Get the beef satay entree; it rocks. The BBQ chicken and ribs are good too. Also, the chicken noodle and drunken noodle are pretty damn decent. The pickled cucumber salad (which also comes as an accompaniment to most bbq dishes) is yummy, but it is really heavy on the MSG, which means sensitive people will feel pretty weird for awhile. ATMOSPHERE: Some of the comments talk about cleanliness. It's just a high traffic strip mall restaurant. The food is clean. If the casual surroundings bug you, get take out - you can sneak some beef satay while you're driving home. STAFF: I like the staff here; I think they're pretty nice and helpful. I wish they'd open one in Newport or Costa Mesa. UPDATE - I really think that pad thai is not a good way to test a Thai restaurant in California because the version we get over here is wet and kind of oily and bland, no matter where you go. I reiterate that this place is really about satay, chicken and ribs

The ONLY place I'll go for Thai food. The best beef satay I've EVER had (tender and flavorful), awesome pad Thai and I could eat an entire vat of their cucumber salad!!

I kind of like this place, but my significant other didn't, hence three stars. We came here for lunch the other day to avoid driving home during the lunch-time traffic. There is absolutely nothing remarkable about the inside of this place. It is similar to a thousand other Asian restaurants in countless other strip malls all over California. The service was OK, though I thought the waitress was kind of surly. The once opportunity for this place to stand ot from the others was the food. I think it did. My better half disagrees. I ordered the Drunken Noodles. The dish is essentially flat noodles, ala chow fun. I thought it was delicious and there was so much of it, that it was a struggle to shove it all down my usually bottomless throat. I did manage, but barely. I'd have to recommend it to anyone coming here. Most excellent! My wife tried the yellow chicken curry, which she loves and immediaely began complaining that they didn't remove the skin and that chicken curry should not include wings (I agree there). She did admit that it tasted good, but was generally not happy with the quality of the chicken or the way it was cookded. Bottom line is . . . I'd certainly go again, and would order the Drunken Noodles in a heartbeat. I might have to go alone though.

Sorry on this trip food was sad. Could not even recommend anything. The food was bland. Pad thai had no flavor. Pad Seew was too sweet. The Garlic Pork had no garlic and it was dry. I know I eat enough Thai dished that I cannot recommend any of it. This was take out @ 5pm on a weekday. So maybe the Chef hasn't shown up for work yet and who ever filled in had no taste buds. Come on folk/chefs try your food before you send it out.

I have not been to many Thai restaurants in my life, but I would hope that the ones I will visit in the future will be better than Thai Original BBQ. We had a fairly large group, but the time it took for us to be seated seemed much longer than necessary, especially since there were empty tables in the center of the restaurant. On the positive side, the menus were provided prior to our seating so that allowed us to view our options so we could be ready to order quickly. The menus have pictures of all their entrees and make the choosing process a lot simpler. Considering BBQ was in the name, I ordered the Thai BBQ chicken, which came with a side of shrimp fried rice. The food arrived and I was pleased at first with the sight of what came before me. The chicken was okay and the rice was decent enough. The portions were very generous and I was forced to take the remaining food home with me. Later that night however, I came down with serious stomach pain. I had not eaten anything after that meal, so I assumed the source was the chicken and rice. Our waitress was also missing in action for most of our meal, and we had to call for her attention many times. Another detraction from the restaurant is that your order must be over $10 to use credit cards. This forced me to order more than I wanted to eat, or be left without an available option of payment. In the end, the food at Thai Original BBQ was below average and the service was terrible.

I don't think I can ever go wrong eating here. If I want to go out to eat and I can't make up my mind I usually go here. It's like my first and last choice if that makes any sense. The food is good and the portions are generous. I always stick to the S-1 BBQ Chicken or S-11 Chicken Ruby (which is actual a cornish game hen). Is there better Thai places out there? Ya most likely... But for some reason this place brings a comfort similar to going home for mom's home cooking.

Thai BBQ is some of the best Thai food I've had in a while, the beef sate dinner is amazing. I always splurge and upgrade to beef fried rice instead of shrimp, but that's just personal preference. A little pricey, but it's totally worth it. Also they don't deliver, so you have to pick it up.

We go here a lot since it's the only decent thai place near our church. Food is pretty good. It's a hit or miss place. We ordered the Pad Thai and it had NO FLAVOR whatsoever. I always get the Beef pad see ew and I'm always happy with that and the fried rice. Is it the best thai food I've tasted????.....definitely not. But it'll do to satisfy my craving.

Work group ordered a ton to go; the regulars went for the Chicken Sate which I got to try and was nicely spiced and grilled. I went for something I hadn't seen before, the Chicken Ruby. A deep fried cornish game hen stuffed with pork and shrimp and 'homemade special sauce.' Dammit, I'm tired of these descriptions; I know one could articulate something better than that like a savory soy based sauce or a sweet honey like sauce or anything with some more adjectives. At any rate, the sauce was sweet and sour sauce that sucked and the deep fry was super overkill, even drying out the chicken which given the point of deep frying to lock in moisture made it a waste. An intriguing dish though, and the stuffing was similar to that inside a dumpling and was fantastic. I think if this was roasted and not overcooked it would be fantastic. I had coconut chicken soup as well and it was pretty good.

Came here with a group of friends and to our surprise another group of friends were eating here. Also saw a bunch of middle aged Koreans, so in total there were about 30 Koreans here, haha. I guess that's the reason you see so many different nationalities at Korean BBQ and Tofu joints, because we're kicking them out of their own restaurants. Anyhoo, it definitely is a hole in the wall place. I had the house special, bbq chicken which came with some red rice. The price is adequate with the portion you get and you'll definitely leave full and a bit bloated. Yup MSG galore, but aren't all restaurants? As to the food, hmm it was comfort food-ish and I would go again, but not too soon.

Fast service and large portions of food compared to other Original Thai BBQ places. It's a little bright in here, but its an overall good place for food. Good value and place to way with friends if u don't want to break the bank, yet still eat great food. Enjoy.

Our favorite thai place in the vicinity. Our favorites are glass noodle salad, larb, pad woon sen, barbecue spare ribs and garlic pork or beef. Don't get pad thai here; it always comes out dry. Also, the sticky rice and mango don't always have good mango. On two occasions, the mango tasted weird that we had to spit it out.

This was the first time I've had Thai food. The bf loves it and when we found this place by his new apt. we had to go. We got the soup with chicken and shrimp. It was really good, fresh and came out fast. We also ordered the Pad Thai and two chicken/rice plates. I wasn't a fan of the Pad Thai. It tasted and smelled like feet to me and I had to move it to the other side of the table so I could eat the rest of my food with out smelling it. The chicken was delish and very taste. The fried rice was, well, rice. There wasn't anything to impressive about it, but I can't say it was awful. They definitely give you tons of food and we could have shared 1 plate of chicken and rice together. Bf says it isn't the best Thai food he's had and prefers the LA spot of this chain better. We'll probably go back soon.

Be careful if you pay with card! They can not keep their orders straight and made me pay for a bill that was twice as much as what I was supposed to pay! and when I called to ask them to fix it they said they will credit my account in 3-5 days when the owner comes back from Thailand!! It was ridiculous any manager knows that customer service above anything is the most important. And when I called to explain that I needed my $80 back they informed me I would get it back and it was not a big deal. They were extremely rude and not helpful at all! Ya there food is good most of the time but at what cost?

Solid Thai restaurant. Service is fast and probably one of the better service-at-a-Thai-restaurant experiences(SaaTrE) I've had. Lunch specials are well priced. Like the place is called, I suggest you come here for the BBQ dishes. Don't order the regular dishes, or the stuff you typically might get at a typical Thai restaurant (Pad Thai) they don't do it that great..it's just meh. But the BBQ dishes are good and what you should order. But because it only really specializes in that, overall it's a pretty average Thai place. Nothing special, but nothing bad...you won't regret coming here, and yet it's nothing to write home about. Run of the mill, except the fact that the SaaTrE was excellent. Yes, I love using long convoluted abbreviations of things that should not have abbreviations. Too bad!

What is this? an Asian restaurant that offers free refills on drinks? you have to be kidding me. I've been coming here for well over 10 years, and i've only noticed an increase in quality over the years. Interesting, because your tastebuds are supposed to become less sensitive over time. Portions are generous, prices are right, great for a quick lunch but also for sharing. Service is lightning fast, even when crowded, and the bathroom is clean. Try their Drunken Noodles - also known as Pad Kee Mao. The fresh vegetables and tender meats elevate this dish to a gourmet level. Their BBQ chicken, pork, ribs, and crispy duck are all excellent. I also recommend the pineapple fried rice.

A friend and I came in for lunch. We ordered satay beef and chicken as an appetizer. Truly BBQ'd and flavorful infused with great Thai spices and no need to dip into peanut sauce. I could have just eaten this appetizer for a meal. Writing about this dish makes my mouth water. The panang beef was so flavorful with lots of spices and the beef was so tender that it melts in your mouth. Too bad we were traveling through So Cal as there was enough to take home. I was so stuffed that I ddin't eat dinner.

My fiancé and I went for dinner last night at about 6pm. The restaurant was about half full. A woman came with menus and asked how many. I told her 2 and asked if we could sit in a half booth half table. She completely ignored me and brought us to a booth. I asked again for the half booth half table. She let us sit there. She was not warm or friendly at all. Now we spend at least 5 minutes figuring out what we want and at least another 5 minutes waiting for a server, no one comes. The woman passes by a few times, never even looks at us. I see a male server walk to another table. I finally catch the woman and ask her where our server is because no one has come to our table. She is bothered and tells me I have to ask him....the male server who went to the other table. No apology for our wait, no offer of even a glass of water. Poor attitude. We got up and walked out. I have been here about 3 times prior.....food OK, nothing to rave about. Even though this is the closest Thai restaurant to my house, I will drive elsewhere. They will not get another dime of my money. I will not recommend this restaurant to any of my friends.

This place lacks not only a kick of flavor but all of it! Came here the second time and was very displeased. First off, the soup tasted watered down. Secondly, they messed up on the Pad Thai when that is the most requested and popular dish for a Thai restaurant. How can you go wrong with that? The Pad Thai had more noodles than sauce... Seriously? We informed the server that we were unsatisfied of the quality and taste of the Pad Thai and all she said was she would inform the cook about it. THAT'S ALL! You would think they would make it up by giving us a free appetizer or something... but nothing! I mean, what kind of customer service is that?? I obviously left the restaurant feeling like I overpaid for no reason! Didn't even finish most of the Pad Thai and just left it there without taking it to go. It was no good. Besides that, I also ordered a fried rice dish and somehow, it did not taste like fried rice, just very bland. I might as well have gotten steamed rice if it was going to be that plain. They really need to see what's going on in the kitchen because the cook is obviously not doing his job. They really need to fix the problem or be in jeopardy of losing a business that could have potential.

This is probably my most favorite Thai restaurant in North OC area. I have been a faithful customer to this restaurant for about four years now, and each time is satisfying and fulfilling. The restaurant itself is pretty spacious and clean, so you don't feel like you're in a completely shabby hole-in-the-wall.... it looks legit! Each time I've gone, the service has been comfortable, and the servers are all very friendly. Another HUGE plus is the fact that the food comes out so QUICKLY. And since we Americans love to get everything fast and effortlessly, this is why Thai BBQ rocks my socks off. One sidenote before I continue: there are certain days when the water SUCKS there. I really don't know why, but sometimes it tastes like faucet water while other days, it's refreshing and nice. Try the Pad See Ew or the Drunken Noodles. You will love it, because they're both amazing. Their BBQ chicken combos are delicious, and that sweet and sour sauce they always provide along with it is sooooo amazing. I loved the wonton soup as well, and every new dish I've tried has been pretty divine. Parking is plentiful, the prices are decent, service is good, and the food is perfect for your Thai cravings. Try this place out!

One of the worst Thai food I've tasted. It was so bland. The tom yum seafood soup was tomato-based. Didn't have the sour/lime taste. The pahd thai didn't have any lime in it. Had to ask for it from the waiter. They didn't have papaya salad on their menu. The sauce for the fried fish was awful. It was brown and bean-tasting. All the food I ordered were bland & made for non-Asian's tastebuds.

pad see yew is great, and the S8 is even better. GO and try it out ... love this thai place... but service is bad only. I will go to the one in Long beach before this one.

I recommend this place if you're looking for Thai food in the Fullerton area. If it's your first time here, get the shrimp pad thai and beef (or chicken) sate. The pad see ew is pretty tasty too. They give genorous portions and the prices are good. Check them out!

    (4)
  • Sapphire L.

I come here and order pretty much the same thing every time. I've never really been disappointed. Any of the sate dishes are good. The pad thai and pad see ew are awesome. My son always gets the shrimp fried rice and it's delicious. The service is good. My only gripe is that the tom yum is sometimes off and the bathroom is not that clean.

  • Anthony C.

Meh indeed. I tried this place after it was recommended from one of my brother's friends. He suggested the beef satay, and that was definitely the best dish on the table. Also good is the BBQ Spare Ribs. They really should give you more of that delicious sauce! Unfortunately I did not order either of those dishes, but tried the Golden Crown(?) after getting a tentative recommendation from the server. This dish was just lame. The description sounded pretty yummy: a deep-fried cornish hen stuffed with pork and shrimp. The whole concoction was a greasy, bland mess. No flavor and a tasteless batter. Seriously folks, how can you mess up deep-fried chicken, pork and shrimp?? The other sad dish was the garlic short ribs, which are apparently small knuckle bones with a little meat and a lot of connective tissue connected to them. Dinners are served with a generous portion of shrimp fried rice. Normally I'm down with that. But this fried rice was like steamed rice with some red color and a handful of scallions, egg and a shrimp added. Blech. And I'm a little skeptical about cross-contamination in the kitchen. My brother is very allergic to seafood, yet while eating his ribs he started getting a mild reaction. Hmmm. A little fishy! (bad pun. sorry.) Service is pretty fast, and the prices were reasonable. I might come back for the satay, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

food is always delicious service is always good food comes out quick very affordable i love thai food~ usually whenever i come to this resturant i get the thai iced tea~ with pad see ew (chicken) and the bbq chicken plate which comes with fried rice. also the sour soup with shrimp?? iono what you call it but its gooood~ ask for the hot sauce which makes the food even taste way better~

  • J M.

Love the Tom yum Kung and Tom kha ghai. Pat Thai is OK. Green curry didn't satisfy at all. The Satay beef however is delicious

  • Risa K.

Very disappointing. I got the beef salad and green chicken curry to go. First off, the portion size for the curry was very small. It came in a very short styrofoam container that almost seemed like a half portion. I was disappointed at first over the portion size, but then I opened it and saw that it was 75% bamboo shoots and 25% cheap little strips of chicken. The flavor also was really blah and I could have easily made it better at home with store bought green curry paste. So a bigger size would not have been better in this case. The beef salad was nothing special and nothing like the beef salad you get in thailand. And yes, although I can be a bit of thai food snob, I don't really have that high of standards for lower priced local thai joints. I don't need it too be necessarily authentic, just tasty and this was neither.

Original Thai BBQ is my SPOT!!!! I've been going there since I was 7 in Cerritos and now that I live in Anaheim hills , Fullerton is the closest location to me now. I know people complained about this chain about being greasy and blah blah blah, I don't give a damn, I love this spot and will always love it, unless I find something fucked up in my food LOL! I always usually get the Spare ribs mmmm so moist , fall off the bone. Their take on fried rice is sooo yummy. I love how its pinkish orange with lots of egg and big shrimps mmmmm, I could just eat that and im set, but im greedy so I order other things. The beef Sate is good never tough, with a very delish peanut sauce. The chicken salad is fuckin awesome, so simple but the best honey mustard dressing I EVER had!, I don't know what they do to that dressing but OMG its the best. The BBQ chicken is always another fav. The pad thai got borning, so I tried Phad See Ew this time and it was yummmo, Rice noodle with broc and shrimp mmmm. I need to step my game up and order different stuff.Anyway this place is always had a special place in my heart and I will keep going there Fo life !!!! hehe....

I usually always get pad Thai at Thai places.... Their pad Thai wasn't good but you must get s1.... Yes s1 that's the number for the chicken and rice. It's so good with the sauce!!!

  • Vanessa L.

Your typical Thai dishes. I prefer for the more exotic and varied menus but I can't complain about the food here. It was okay, it was convenient and the service was quick. I ordered take out: pineapple fried rice and beef satay.

  • Joseph C.

no, the pad thai and pad see ew are NOT awesome. two stars for food, service and price. for all those four+ star reviews, you are all delusional, this place sucks hard. do you have any point of reference for good thai food, or is this the only place you've been? any thai joint's flagship dish, and one to get a basic feel of its quality is pad thai, and this place's pad thai is so bad, i only got through about a quarter of it. noodle's are the wrong type, cakey, and under-seasoned. ordered some seafood monstrosity and it came out cold, no flavor BUT heavily salted. the steamed rice seemed like it was sitting around all day, it too was cold and dry when it got to us. the servers were physically in the building but absent in presence, and when sending back the check, the waitress took her time in carrying back all of our spent dishes with the check. this is not acceptable. appears the owners of this establishment gave up on providing any kind of quality food or service, they just happened to be located neatly in an area where people are oblivious to good thai food. never again.

  • Sean W.

Everybody needs to try the S1. You get a half a chicken served on a bed of shrimp fried rice for under $10. The Thai BBQ Chicken here is the best I have ever had. The chicken falls right off the bone and has a great mixture of sweet and savory flavors with a slight charred taste.

I absolutely love this place. I come here at least once every two weeks. I do wish the staff was more friendly. But certainly won't stop me from coming and getting the pad thai!

this place was very very average and nothing special about it. the service was very friendly but the food gave me a stomach ache - i didn't mind it but def didn't like it too much......

  • P L.

My rating is really only for the Beef Satay. I love the peanut sauce that it comes with. This is usually the only thing I order when I go here but the other stuff isn't bad. There is a Beef Satay lunch special and then theres a dinner plate. I like to order the dinner plate, I believe it comes with 10 or so skewers and if I don't finish it all at once, I save it for later :) It comes with what they call shrimp fried rice, in my opinion it really isn't "fried rice" but I love it. The food comes out fast...

  • Tim H.

Always a safe option if you want good Thai food. They seem to have every Thai dish there is and I like how they have a menu with pictures of all their dishes (takes out the guessing). Service is good and the portions are pretty decent. Things to try: Pad See Ewe Fried Wonton (appetizer) BBQ Chicken BBQ Beef Ribs

    (4)
  • Steve L.

I love the food here. While it may not be real authentic Thai, it's pretty close. One of my favorites is drunken noodles. it's kinda like chow fun with spicy sauce, which comes with beef or seafood. The portions are pretty generous. I always order Thai ice tea with my food. It just goes really good with Thai food. My only complaint is that when they are busy, which they often are, the service gets leaves a lot to be desired. Other than that, I recommend this place.

    (5)
  • Chuck C.

This is actually 1 of my favorite Thai restaurant. The food is great, the service is fast and the prices are extremely great. My favorite dish would have to be the ginger chicken, reminds me of my moms cooking! The only thing that bummed me out that I could not find on the menu that most authentic Thai restaurant carries is "Thai boat noodles" sometimes I crave for that but don't want to drive all the way to LB to get some.

though i know there are a few negative reviews about this place, i still come here despite higher reviews at other places...i grew up eating here before the times of claim jumper or the olive garden. It's like mom's home cooking...though it may not be the best...you still come back wanting for more

  • Jeff R.

This place is great and the best part is they deliver! The prices are in line with the food. It's a hole in the wall joint so I wouldn't take a date here. If you want a posh Thai experience then go to L.A.

To be fair, have eaten here three times now and it's gettin' worse!..The service is really NOT Good!!..Waitress very uninterested (no eye contact)..Yeah,Ok I'm here for the Food...but at least smile and say "Hi".... ...Now to the food...tried some fried appetizer things with meat inside(or so I thought!)..After eating several I cracked one open and found what I suspected "no meat",passed my findings onto waitress...Reaction was one of disinterest.. Had ordered Yellow curry with Chicken...when Yellow curry with Beef arrived I asked waitress about it...."It only come in Beef",was her one to two syllable response... While finishing off Pad See Ew and Yellow Curry stuff(just OK), noticed my waitress had taken a seat @ another table by herself, and was gobbling down a plate of food (apparently they don't pay their employees enough to eat out or watching the patrons devour the food was too much for her and she had to join in)....well was lookin' for some napkins and kept tryin' to get her attention(I know she saw me) Finally reached over to another table and grabbed napkins off it!!...Rather insulting service....Other servers saw my plight and for what ever reason decided not to intervene... Food was two stars, service zero, so rounded it to a one star....I will say that there are just too many other GOOD Thai places to eat (so don't eat here!!)

This place is awesome. I had the Pad Thai (I think thats how you spell it). It was good. The waiter was annoying but the waitresses was cool. So decided to give our tip to the waitress instead. The food came out quickly we didn't have to wait that long for our food to come out. I will definitely come back here again.

Ate here with a couple friends recently and everything I didn't like about the first review was gone. The service was excellent, friendly and funny, even, and the food was really good - from the traditional soup to the main dishes. An excellent meal and excellent staff. Bravo, Thai Original BBQ!

Only been to this location once. Food wasn't great. Service wasn't great. For some reason a plate of pad see ew costed 11 dollars. Don't know if they screwed the order...

  • Angela D.

They should really drop the "Thai" off the sign because this is not Thai food. This place is just horrible. The flavors are all wrong, the portions are huge but it tastes like crap so what's the point of getting a lot of nasty ass food? The service is lousy, it's like they don't even care that you're there. Hello! I'm a paying customer, can you at least smile for once in your life? My goodness, it's like pulling teeth trying to get a glass of water or napkins. If you want good authentic Thai food you need to drive to LA, I know it's a hassle with parking & traffic, but it's the only way you will ever get a decent Thai meal. Everytime somebody brings up this place my blood starts to boil, never again I say!

Typical Thai BBQ chain taste. Nothing special. I had their chicken skewer, not super moist but not dry either. Meh.

    (4)
  • Matthew W.

The portions are really generous, and the price is reasonable. I had the Chicken Satay, and the Tom Yum Soup. The chicken was moist, and combined with the peanut sauce, unbeatable. The food is delicious. I would definitely come back for more. 4 stars, since it is my first trip...maybe 5 if everything on the menu is this good.

If it's your first time going to Thai BBQ, order the S-1 which is Bar-b-Que Chicken with a honey sauce and fried rice, or an S-8 which is a plate of Beef skewers served on fried rice and peanut sauce! There are plenty of other items to try but be sure to order one of these and I can guarantee you will be a fan!! Also, there seems to be various restaurants with the Thai-BBQ name. Hands down this one in Fullerton has the best food! Even if you've only been slightly satisfied with the other locations, try the Fullerton one and you'll find out what I mean. Lastly, go with friends! My wife and I and the JJ's frequent this place often. We freekin love it! =)

I cant help but order the Sate Dinner (beef). The food is so flavorful and fresh. Oddly enough I'm not a big rice fan, but, there's is so delicious. I take home the leftovers & get 2-3 meals out of it. Their sauces are full of flavor. Great bobas, I would say my favorite thing about this restaurant is the quality of every meal I've tried. It's remarkably good & the food is scrumptious.

i've been going here for about 7+ years now, usually with my family.. their food is always good, never been disappointed. ...the food comes out in lightning speed.. they are so fast. you dont have to wait long if you're hungry. (i love their pad see ew with chicken, pad thai with shrimp, enjoy their thai tea and OF COURSE the ever so famous "S" combos). the staff has been and always are so friendly and nice.

Had the bbq ribs which was very good. I believe it was $7.50 you can't beat that. Pineapple fried rice was just ok. (It was more like Pineapple curry fried rice)

I have never been a Thai fan but the food here was ok. It was a quick stop for my friend and I to grab dinner and catch a movie. They were quick and the price was right.

I looove this place!! Okay i have to admit that my first visit wasn't the best. My bf and i came here to sample their foods...and was met with great disappointment. Their pad thai was dry and flavorless and their service was hella slow. My friends suggested i give them a second chance so i did. This time around I ordered what everyone ordered which was the S1 or S2 plates. Hmmm...they were yummy! Unfortunately, I went back a third time and ordered the Chicken Satay dinner...and now I am forever hooked!! It is the only thing that I order whenever I go to this place!! Love the peanut sauce...i always ask for extra! Their portions are huge...and i love having leftovers for lunch the next day!

My friend and I stopped by here for grub before watching a movie at the AMC next door. The environment is very welcoming, staff is fairly helpful (don't be shy to raise your hand and yell, c'mon we're asian), and the food tasted decent. I order some gravy noodles and my friend had the spicy shrimp fried rice. Both tasted good, and I need to go back to taste more goodies!

This place is a great place to have thai. They have all the typical dishes like pad thai, spring rolls, chicken satay, fried rice, wonton soup etc. The price for food is very reasonable, service okay, and take out is good too. I recommend their wonton soup and drunken noodles with chicken, two of my favorite things I usually get when I go. This restaurant is located next to Jack In The Box in the big huge plaza.

    (3)
  • Dean B.

I come here all the time...their spare ribs are so good and filling. The price is decent and the portions are plenty, that is good enough for me. The waiters/waitresses are all fobby and the place is a little dingy, but thats ok because the food rocks...minus the chicken, its dry at times

  • Ray L.

another week of restaurant rendezvous, another review for yelp.com amazing pad thai, the other stuff we tried (aka the chicken curry and the pad se ew) was so mediocre but the pad thai. OMG SO GOOD. the service was nothing spectacular but it wasnt bad by any means. HUGE servings always put a smile on my face.

This is one of my favorite local thai places to eat at. We've had their bbq chicken and ribs, tom yum gai, pad see ewe, angel wings, and crab balls. I often call in for a to go order and it's usually done in about 15 minutes. Service is above average of a typical asian restaurant.

    (5)
  • Lynn O.

The service was very quick and the food came out right away. The trouble is the food wasn't that good. The glass noodles and veggie dish ($6.95) was very greasy and didn't taste too pleasant-- there was an odd flavor to it (somewhat metallic... due to tin canned veggies such as baby corn and straw mushrooms?). I really liked their Thai iced coffee, though ($1.95).

  • Eric R.

Thai...the word just exudes the aura of exotic eastern dishes, strange and flavorful cuisine, and the spicy mysteries of the orient. Guess what...you can have that, and more, right here in Fullerton. Now I've tried some bad Thai food...but this restaurant is different...it's consistently GOOD. I've never had a bad dish in this joint, and it's always tasty. There is a bit of a downside...slightly tarnishing this establishment of oriental mystery (man...sounds like I'm describing some sort of house of ill repute!!), sometimes the service is a little lacking, so be prepared. However, given the high quality of the fare, I can completely overlook this and simply enjoy the Buddhist peace and solitude of eating my pork with glass noodles...a big 5 fingered salute...enjoy!!!

  • Brendan A.

Pricy for thai food.. but not too bad.. I would get the phad se ew. Their kai yang chicken is really small. I would probably only come here for their lunch specials

  • Amy C.

I go to Thai Original BBQ somewhat regularly. The Pad See Ew (flat noodles) are a pretty safe bet to order. Satisfying and not too spicy. My favorite dish is the Beef Sate Dinner. The meat skewers are packed with flavor and is well-paired with the rice. I've tried the yellow curry but don't recommend it unless you like bone-in chicken. The price is reasonable for the food that you get. It's definitely a fun place to go to with friends where you can enjoy good food while chatting.

    (4)
  • Michelle K.

I love this place. Best place I've tried for Thai BBQ chicken. They have great prices. Some of their dishes come out a bit small though. I would recommend this restaurant!

  • Byron C.

I have to admit, I'm not the biggest fan of thai food. Most of my friends are asian, and many of my friends are vegetarian. Thus thai food always seems to be where we end up going. I've been to so many average thai joints that it's hard to make a strong impression on me, one way or the other. Well Thai Original BBQ has managed to do just enough to push it ahead of the curve. First of all, they have picture menus. Useful picture menus. They have an actual picture for almost everything on their menu. Sure the pictures are tiny, but as I am not thai I do appreciate having an idea of what I'm about to order. I ended up going with the short ribs with fried rice special. Do not be deceived by the tiny pictures, the portions here are quite large. Thai restaurants aren't exactly known for their portion sizes, but I was quite full after finishing my plate. Value wise, it was definitely worth the $10. The food itself was quite good, but not impressive enough for me to give it 5 stars. The short ribs were fantastic, but the fried rice was rather plain and surprisingly oily. Do beware of the pad thai. My vegetarian friend ordered pad thai and said it tasted strange. I can't know for sure which dish is more indicative of the restaurant's quality, but for today I'll judge based on the food I was served.

... Slow terrible service!! the only time you will see them happy is when they hand you your bill in hopes that you may tip them better. Food is less than mediocre. Meat is bouncy. Yuck

    (1)
  • Amy K.

I didn't see what the other reviewers were so excited about; maybe I'm used to and happy with mediocre Thai food, I dunno. It wasn't bad at all, it just wasn't OMFG, if I may use that as an adjective. Ended up here because a friend's sister's friend liked it and we all met up. It's a small place in a big shopping center, fairly innocuous, ok decor - mostly booths - and a couple fishtanks little kids will like. *I* really liked that there were two menus: one that's all words, and one with pictures of every dish. It's so helpful for ordering! The selection was very good, and there was a section marked off for vegetables/vegetarian dishes, so plus for that. I forget the name of what I got, maybe pad see ew? Wide flat noodles, brown, with broccoli I gave to my friend, and I got tofu instead of animal; egg also came in it, but I nixed it. They made it without fish sauce. I'd wager you could order any noodle dish with tofu instead of meat. It was ok, I've had better. Although spicy foods kick up my reflux, this seemed a little bland nonetheless, and I would've liked the noodles a bit more firm, although it was still good. My friend got the cashew tofu, which was also pretty decent. The other people dining with me had drunken noodles, the same dish I had but with chicken, and spring rolls, and everyone ended up happy. Oh, and there's butcher paper over the table, so if you're like me you can bust out a pen and draw. Our food came out super fast, and the bill for dinner was quite reasonable. Service got a little slow once we were ready for the check, but the restaurant had filled up, too. If I was in the area, I'd go back, but it wasn't really anything special.

  • Michael C.

The Good: It's a nice place to drop by and have a quick lunch. The service is fast and friendly. Their lunch specials have big portions for fair prices. The Bad: This place values quantity over quality, so expect to get a lot of food, but don't expect the best tasting Thai food. Try: the BBQ chicken lunch special. This is the only thing I get here because I haven't found another restaurant that does it quite as well as this place. Don't Try: the Pad See Ew here. It's very average, so I'd suggest you pick from the lunch special menu.

    (4)
  • Michelle E.

Their food is reasonably priced and is consistent with other Thai restaurants. Their Pad Thai and other noodle dishes (especially the Glass Noodles) are really tasteless, however. I've heard that their House Special dishes are pretty good but I've yet to try them. Their soups, while good, do lack a bit of taste as well. The food seems Americanized and not so authentic but its close to home so my husband and I go here often.

    (3)
  • Joann D.

I looooove this place. The portions are perfect for 2 and the BBQ chicken is just right. Juicy in the middle and a light crisp on the outside. Not to mention the PAD ThaIII Noodle... (i think that's how u spell it?) Just thinking about it makes my mouth water like HOMER J. SIMPSON... YUMMY!

    (5)
  • Franklin P.

This place, along with all the other ones in different locations is always a sure win. Cant go wrong with good quality food for a good price. Food was consistently tasty and had plenty of it. The decor is a bit intimate in here too, They have high booths and candles. Servers are attentive and swift. It does get busy sometimes.

  • Tina L.

I used to come here almost every Sunday after church with my friends. I love their BBQ chicken plate, BBQ rib plate, pad see ew, drunken noodles, pineapple fried rice, and crab fried rice. Seriously...the best BBQ plates I've ever had at any Thai restaurant. I don't know why or what or how or WHO but it's so effing good!

    (5)
  • Tammy Q.

My friend brought us here one night on a whim, he wasn't sure if it was the same amazing place he had before. It turned out just to be as he remembered it! The bbq chicken combo, all my friends and I always get that. Portions are large, food is good and it's reasonably priced! I've never gotten pad thai here, its a thai bbq, so I stick to their specialty, bbq!

  • jennifer o.

I'm not really experienced with authentic Thai food so the only thing I can say with certainty is that their crab fried rice is awesome. I order it every time and it's pretty consistent. Plus, the portion is huge. I usually make two meals out of it. Another plus is that if you call and order your food, by the time you drive there (10 minutes for me) the food is ready.

    (4)
  • Jennie D.

I gave it 2 stars because the food (calamari & bbq spare ribs) actually tasted great; however, I didn't even make it out of the parking lot before I got sick. And by sick, I mean, SICK. BTW, if you want napkins, you might want to ask for a specific number or else they bring you just one. I'm eating ribs for crying out loud!

I was really craving Thai food and I came upon this restaurant. The name made it sound like it was going to be delicious but be warned, names can be deceiving. "Original" means nothing. Once you walk in, you feel like walking out and this is due in part to the dull decor of the restaurant. The booth I sat at was very unwelcoming. The wall was completely barren. I wanted to be safe so I just stuck with a classic: Pad See Ew. The portion was more than enough for one person and the taste was okay. It was nothing spectacular. I definitely felt like I've had better Thai food at other places.

Considering I've previously eaten at Thai Original BBQ in another location, I came to the Fullerton one on lunch break and wasn't quite appeased for lunch. I ordered yellow curry which came out more oily than curry flavored. As for lunch specials, this place has a $10 min on cards, so if you're searching for an all around good thai food with superb specials, their lunch special is left wanting. I'm use to being wowed by specials because they come with a small appetizer (an egg roll with soup or salad) then your entree. Here however, I had a large portion of salad I didn't really want and my bland entree. If in the future, I'll stick to what I know is good at thai original BBQ and that would be their chicken. I'll also remember to bring cash so I don't have to spend more than $10 just to eat.

A friend took me here a couple months ago. It was during a week day lunch, and the place didn't seem very busy. Lots of seats available. This restaurant is not small, and could probably seat at least 60 people. We ordered the Pad See Ew and some beef dish w/ vegetables. Two dishes and tip for around $20. The service was great, but as aforementioned, it wasn't so busy. The waiters were very polite and nice, and they didn't bother us at all. The food tasted VERY good. The meat was soft and tender, easy to chew and swallow. The sauce wasn't too salty or sweet. The noodles weren't overcooked or too dry. I'm quite reluctant to give this place 5 stars since I have only eaten here once, but food was simply superb. By the way, the menu was overwhelming. There must be at least 40 dishes available. Be prepared to be indecisive when you come here! I recommend it.

ahhh i LOVE thai food! this place is nice and comfortable, staff COULD be a little nicer, hence the 4 stars. there is really only one or two staff members there but the food is amazing. definitely recommend the chicken sate with peanut sauce, ahhhhmazing! everything comes with shrimp fried rice, being a non-seafood lover, i always substitute white rice with my dishes for no extra charge. there wonton soup is delicious as well! its more of a table sharing appetizer but a must try. they have lunch specials monday thru friday. some entrees are smaller portions for a couple dollars cheaper, but still enough food to keep you thru dinner. they can get a little busy around dinner time and sometimes lunch time. best to go before 600 pm.

Best Thai food in the area. Good prices. The food was really good. The prices are reasonable for the portion size. This place is my new favorite Thai place

This place is just okay. In Fullerton, it can do, but if you want some real Thai food go to LA.... Service: didn't get much, i guess they tried to be friendly though Food: I've only tried the BBQ chicken, which I do like, but havent had it at too many other places to judge. The crab fried rice was good, and the green chicken curry was pretty bland. Price: Is pretty low for thai food around the area This place is good for casual lunches. I would go back because I live very close by

Whenever I crave thai food, this restaurant is the reason why I end up rejecting all the local options and switch over to korean. No other thai restaurant satisfies my love for Tom yum flavor and thai bbq chicken like my go-to S1, S2, or S8 dishes. The food here is comfortably yummy, good portions, and full of thai flavory goodness. The restaurant's vibe is low-key and familiar like your neighborhood chinese food joint, but still clean. The service is always solid, and the food comes out relatively quickly. I do eat a lot, and for the price, I'm almost always happy with the quality of the food and the fullness of my belly...which I do reiterate as large. I've been to other Thai Originall BBQ restaurants in Cerritos and LA, and they do seem very similar, but I don't know if they're all the same owner. Bottom line? When I'm in F-town, and hungry, this is always on my list of go-to meals with in-n-out. OH! Thats right. 5 stars.

My first impression of this establishment was that it would be eh. Pretty average. Overall yes it was. But the food was actually good. The service, not as much. Let's start with the food. Personally, I judge Thai restaurants by their pad thai. I've ordered pad thai from pretty much all the Thai restaurants that I have been to. So when I say this pad thai is good, it really is actually good. Bean sprouts don't outnumber the amount of pad thai noodles here, unlike other Thai places. The pad thai is very flavorful and aromatic. However, I would have like it to be more spicy. In addition, I also would have liked it if they put more of other ingredients besides the noodles. For example, more nuts and green onions should be added so that the ration between them and the noodles remain consistent throughout the meal. Other than that, this pad thai is good. Now personally, I think that the service was nice, but not too good. My waitress was polite. But service is more than just manners. It's about getting orders right too and memory. When I ordered my pad thai, I said no bean sprouts. When I got my dish, not only did I get no bean sprouts, I got no eggs, which was mentioned to be included in the dish, I couples slices of green onion, and maybe a spoon full of nuts. I don't know if it was the chef's fault or if my waitress accidently wroted down no bean sprouts and no eggs. Nonetheless, that took away one star. Thai Original BBQ is a good restaurant though. Good pad thai and ok service.

In the fullerton area this is definitely one of my favorite thai places to go to. Specifically when you go here you have to get the thai bbq chicken because that is absolutely my favorite. At first look this place doesn't have anything to it that would make it seem awesome. But the service and food here is great. Thai Tea is also great. Honestly one of my favorite places to go for lunch. I always look forward to eatting here. Another little cool thing about this place is that they strategically price everything so that if you tip 15% or 20% the amount is completely even and calculated on the receipt for you. So if you dont like getting change then this is the perfect place for you! plus the food helps too :P

Thai BBQ was one of the best Thai restaurant with real good bbq pork ribs and shrimp rice. We stopped going to Fulllerton because the place is dirty . So we drove all the way to Carson but walked out because the place is really run down.Filthy carpet and just old and dirty surrounding. They have really delicious Thai food but their restaurant lacks cleanliness and customer cannot eat in such filthy atmosphere. If they still want to do business they have to do some remodelling and major cleaning. I wonder why they are not being closed down by the Dept of Health.

Service: eh... Food: eh.... Prices: cheaper than any other thai food resturant...... I've only had the BBQ Chicken and the Chicken (Green) Curry here. NO FLAVOR. The meat was too fatty and every time I chewed a piece something hard got in the way that made me wanna BARF!!!! eww. no bueno. Go to Thai Basil and pay an extra $5-10 dollars for a real meal with good portions. That is all.

Not the best Pad Thai that I've ever had. Near the bottom, actually. I was also not very happy with the service. The waiters and waitress needed to be flagged down and weren't responsive. They definitely haven't been trained to consider the customer's needs before their own. I try to avoid these kinds of places, especially when the food isn't the greatest. This is definitely a restaurant that wreaks of poor ownership and management.

Avoid this place! This is the worst Thai food I have ever had!! The coconut soup was bland and inedible. The pad Thai tasted rancid and greasy. Gross! I took it to go or else I would have sent it back and left.

The Chicken fried rice, pad thai chicken, curry, satay and the noodles were good during various visits. The most flavorful dish appeared to be the chicken fried rice. The seating is comfortable, waitresses were always nice and we always found parking. This is one of the better Thai restaurants in my opinion.

OVERALL RATING = 5 / 10 Overall FOOD = 6 What I had: Phad See-Ew = 7 Phad Thai = 6 Pineapple Fried Rice = 6 Drinks: Water = n/a ATMOSPHERE = 4 SERVICE = 5 ---COMMENTS--- Went with wife + friend. Offer typical thai food; this is to the best of my thai food knowledge... but good typical thai food nonetheless. Not the greatest meal, but decent. I prefer this place over Thai Spice (Fullerton). So I rate it 3 stars, barely... for now. Looking forward to trying a real meat dish and watching my wife enjoy her pineapple fried rice (she loves it). Enjoy... if you're in the mood for greasy noodles.

THAI BBQ ROCKS! This place is one of my favorite $10 per person places to eat in all of Orange County. Some of my favorite dishes are; Drunken Noodle (spicy flat noodle), Sate' Dinner, BBQ Chicken--- soooo good, Wing's of Angel (BBQ chicken.. stuffed with Pork.. stuffed with other stuff...) Ok.. this place isn't the cleanest place... the service isn't the greatest...and it's not a place I would take for a first.. second.. or even third date... but if you are looking for a decent lunch/dinner, and you are craving some Thai... this place is the best. Most of their items come in generous portions.. usually two dishes will fill two people easily... with leftovers.

But my sis dish chicken chow mein was ok .... Over all the service was amazing ... So I have no complaints on the place it self just the food was not tasty at all ... Sooo... I have been to quite a bit of references from yelp app. For Thai food. However they have never compared to this location. Yes it may seem it's a chain, but I believe they are individually owed. At least I think that due to the differences of service, quality, and overall experience. This place by far is one of the best. They are always happy to see you. Happy to serve you. Happy to provide you extra sauce no charge, etc etc. I can go on and on about this place. Let me end this by saying you will have no regrets. And you will struggle to enjoy another Thai place the same you do for this place.
