I've been here four or five times (one lunch buffet and the rest for dinner), and every time I leave there I've eaten way too much and said it's the best Indian food I've ever had. The tandoori chicken is one of the best chicken dishes I've ever had, of any ethnicity. It's insane. The lentil soup is amazing, especially when spooned out with garlic naan, and the chicken tikka masala is the best I've had. The service isn't exceptional, but I really don't go to this type of place for stellar service. I go here to eat way more than I should, and love every minute of the impending food coma...maybe that's why I eat here for dinner. You will not be disappointed with the food here, it's fantastic!

I'm not sure if there are different people running it now, but the food was SOOOOO GOOD! The chicken korma(sp) was creamy and delicious. The chicken bhuna was really good too.

We were looking for an Indian restaurant to have dinner when passing through Fresno so a quick Yelp search threw up Curry House Indian Bistro & Bar with good ratings so we decided to give it a try. Curry House Indian Bistro & Bar is located on the outskirts of Fresno in a large plaza that we were able to find effortlessly. At 9 p.m. when we entered the restaurant was almost 70% full and even though the host cum server saw us standing at the door he proceed to ignore us till he had cleared and setup the table that he showed us to. I mean how difficult would it be to acknowledge our presence and let us know that there will be a 10 minute wait till the table is ready rather than making us just hang around. Anyway, after being seated we quickly placed our orders as the closing time was 10 pm. We got Chicken Tikka Masala, Goat curry, Dal Makhani, Saag and Chicken Biryani along with some naan and roti. When asked for the level of spice that we desired we went for spicy as we were all used to spicy Indian food. Price wise all the entrees were in the $13 to $16 range and bread in the $2 to $3 range a piece which is typical of Indian restaurants. The food was out pretty fast in the next 10 minutes or so. Taste wise it was a disaster. It seems that they had taken regular dishes and then added tons of chilies into then to get them to the "spicy" level. Everyone in our party is able to handle spicy Indian food, but every dish here just seemed to taste of chilies and nothing else. I can appreciate heat through the use of spices but don't want to deal with burning lips with every bite. We literally had to take a sip of water after every bite to get anything down. Even the biryani suffered the same fate which killed its taste. The saag was a joke and tasted more like just plain palak (spinach) with cream and chilies. All doubts about the authenticity of dishes here was put to rest after the first bite. I later learned that Curry House Indian Bistro & Bar serves a buffet during lunch so it seems that they took the food that is served in the buffet added tons of chilies to it to make it "spicy" and served that to us during the dinner service (I may be wrong but that's my take based on what I ate). If this is what passes for "good" Indian food in Fresno then all that I can say is that I've been spoilt rotten in LA and feel bad for the people of Fresno. My advise to anyone dining here is to go for the medium spicy level so that you can at-least taste what you are eating. Having tons of chilies tossed into food that burns your lips does not constitute good Indian food. I left extremely dissatisfied so will not be returning here.

We are in search of a great indian food restaurant. So given that this place had decent reviews and not in an area where you get car jacked, I thought we'd give it a try. The food is very good and the service sub-par. Vindaloo sauce is not spicy (I requested indian hot) but the lamb it covered was cooled perfectly. Service was missing even though there were not very many people in the restaurant. People were pleasant enough but not attentive. Dishes were bussed using a cart which was a little gross. We expect more in a sit down restaurant. We will eat there again but probably for takeout only since the food is very good.

Very nice ambiance; clean and has upscale decor. The buffet has a large selection. I found the "butter chicken" sauce to be too sweet. Other dishes had too much salt (and I typically love salty foods). I'd go back, but it's not my first choice for Indian in Fresno.

First time trying Indian food and I have to say that I love it. We ate there at 1pm and did the all you can eat/buffet style. I'm satisfied with the food they have and this experience has been nice. The waitress attended to my needs and are nice. The price is not bad for all you can eat at lunch.

BEST INDIAN RESTAURANT IN FRESNO. Their buffet offers tons of options, vegetarian and non-veg. Their butter chicken and paneer are the best I've ever had, ANYWHERE. Their food is fresh, made to order on the menu and each dish is better than the last. Thanks for keeping Indian food, simple delicious and affordable. az

Terrible Indian food, taste awful. Stay away from this place. I got food poisoning. Also it took us good 20 minutes to get the bill after we were done eating even though I told the waitress we would like the bill.

Everything was fresh service was great but something was just off with most all the veggie dishes I tried. Every veggie dish I had was way to salty? Not sure why, I have never had Indian food that was overly salty before... But the food was very fresh, service was good and it's close to my house...so I'll give it one more try.... Hope it's better next time....

We went out on a Saturday night with our two children. Rating breakdown: Service/atmosphere: 4 stars Food: 1 star First of all the good: -Service was good despite what people have said previously on reviews, they were attentive, quick to refill water and brought new silverware when our kids inevitably dropped things. -It is clean, good location by Riverpark, comfortable inside. There were a few other couples with children if that's not your thing. Second of all, some comments -A lot of TVs, not really a fan but others may enjoy. Playing bollywood music videos. -Full bar, not our thing but maybe a plus for others. Third of all, the bad -Bland, sweet, fatty food. We did order mild for most dishes and medium for others but there was almost no spice or flavor to the food. -The Saag Paneer was the worst I've eaten, tasted frozen and reheated. The frozen one you can buy at Trader Joe's is better. -The Aloo Gobhi was sweet and creamy?! I have never eaten it this way out of 15-20 different restaurants. We had positive recommendations from friends, so obviously for some people the experience and food was good, but we were disappointed.

Tried this place because of a LivingSocial promo. The waiter was SO helpful! He clarified ALL the questions we had and was able to recommend some really good dishes. Overall, we had a great time. He was very attentive and engaged in meaningful conversation.. Not just the kind that comes with the job. The food was presented in nice dishes and was amazing. They brought out something small for us to nibble on while waiting for our food. I can't remember what I ordered, because the waiter suggested it. However, the BF ordered the chicken Tikka Masala and was very happy with that decision. The garlic naan was incredible! Right out of the oven. Crispy, buttery, with just a hint of garlic. MMMmmmm. What was also great was the modern feel. It wasn't your typical traditional Indian restaurant. The decor was sleek, and the furniture was current and comfy. The TV's were HD and the pictures were minimal. Would recommend.

Really good and tasty. My family and I tried out the buffet, and I just wished it was a bit bigger. It was very stuffing, not in a bad way, but the food in my tummy lasted the whole day and I wasn't even hungry afterwards at all.

  • Craig Y.

Really good and tasty Indian food! The buffet is sometimes sparse with things that I like and I wish it was a little bigger. But they always have enough to make me full. The food is spicy but not overly so. They have tandoori chicken all the time along with a creamy chicken dish (Butter chicken or chicken tikka masala) and a dal dish. The have a third meat dish, a couple desserts, and plenty of veggie dishes. Great flavor and taste. Definitely worth the price of $9.95 for lunch buffet!

Today was our first time there and the food was very tasty. One of the dishes was not what I ordered, but it was so good that I did not mention it. Everything was first rate, will be back.

We've enjoyed the lunch buffet both times we've come here. It seems like there have been different foods offered each time. Service was average. Love the warm, fresh naan. Brought a family member here for her first Indian food, and she really enjoyed it. The price - along with the nice ambiance, and great food - make this our go-to Indian place in Fresno!

Good food, but terrible service. The Waiter rolled his eyes at me and was not attentive at all. I will not be returning to this establishment.

This place is pretty good...not the best in town but the price is decent and the food is good. It's got a good location, across from river park, parking can be tricky on the weekends but nothing too crazy. The service is pretty nice too...quick and polite. The restaurant is gorgeous inside!!

Indians typically do not eat out at Indian restaurants (Any Indian restaurant owner will tell you that). Having said that, once I had their chicken biryani, I was hooked. There's is hands down the best chicken biryani I have had in the US. I've been a firm believer that an Indian restaurant's true merit lies in how well they cook their biryanis, and this does not disappoint. Go try it out for yourself.

This is the best Indian food I have ever eaten! The place was very clean and tidy with beautiful furniture and bar. I also loved how they were playing Indian music. Staff was very nice and helpful. Some of the staff does not speak English fluently so you need to be aware of that but they were still very nice. The buffet is only $10 and food is amazing, hot and delicious. I can't wait to go there again!

Excellent restaurant. It never disappoints. The entire staff is friendly and the food is out of this world. The spices are balanced but very present. Try the paneer makhani. Highly recommended.

There was absolutely nothing special about this place, not even the naan. Won't becoming back here again.

Clean and friendly environment. The food was wonderful, not really oily like some Indian restaurants. My favorite items are the fish pakoras, the tikka paneer, and the garlic naan.

My wife and I often come here when we don't have the children. Because she is a vegetarian and I am not, finding a restaurant that pleases both of us is a challenge, so we often compromise with Indian food. We have been here four times in the last year, and I have never left unsatisfied. My wife helps explain some of the more exotic dishes, but I am always pleased with my choices. I highly recommend the garlic naan bread, it has just the right amount of garlic and is a nice compliment to your meal. The service has been polite, friendly and helpful when deciding what to order. I cannot recommend this place for families with small children since there is only one dining room and no separate place for families with noisy or rambunctious children to sit away from other diners. The prices are just right. The atmosphere is casual. In fact, if I have a complaint it's that they leave the televisions playing the Indian version of MTV that can be seen from the dining area. While they are muted, they take the ambiance down a notch and make the restaurant feel more like a bar. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for casual Indian dining at a reasonable price.

We have visited Curry House several times. We have also been to North India, Brama Bull, and other Indian restaurants in the area. This has probably become my family's favorite, primarily because it is closest to our home, but also because a number of dishes we have tried are also emerging as our favorites. We prefer the lunch buffet. It does not have the variety of Brama Bull, but the food they put out for the buffet at Curry House, is really good. We love the butter chicken, tandoori chicken, and the lamb, although it is not always available in the buffet. We have always found the service very good. If you like Indian food, you won't be disappointed. And the buffet is a great value at $8.95 as of 8/3/2011. Still just $8.99 as of 8/24/2013.

Guess what, sometimes 2nd chances are deserved and I have to eat my words. During dinner, service was unbelieably attentive and genuine. There were 2 young servers- male and female- perhaps the owner's kids, who were on shift. Really nice and professional. Therefore, I will happily rescue Curry House from my "Bad Service" list. Fish paratha was pretty good, just a bit salty for me. The chicken saag and chicken biryani were also good. We asked for "as mild as possible" and everything was still very flavorful with a kick.

Since North India closed awhile back we've been on the hunt for a new favorite Indian restaurant. This place, to our surprise, was actually really good! The server was super nice, the service, fast, and the food, tasty. We will be back!

The service was painfully SLOW. I though the food was good, but almost anything tastes good after waiting an hour. I came here for dinner, but maybe I'll give the lunch buffet a chance one day since I do give second chances. Breakdown: Food 4 Service 1 Price 2 Details of my experience, that I wrote while waiting at the restaurant... It seemed the presumed servers were actually assigned to specific tasks - one to clean tables, one to take orders, one to fill water glasses. We waited close to THIRTY minutes to have our order taken. During that time, the "water lady" stared idly at us from the counter, except to fill water on occasion. The "table cleaner" wiped the tables surrounding us and in the unoccupied back corners of the restaurat with great fervor... All after we had expressed interest in ordering to each of them. I understand when a restaurant is busy, but there were only 3 other tables and the non "food ordering" staff continued to stand around looking bored. I nearly left a few times (I was so hungry) but my curiousity led me to see how this endeavor would turn out. The wait after ordering was not much better. Other comments: Prices are on the high side for the same thing I could get elsewhere (Entree + a couple orders of naan can easily add up to $30). When I asked for a small container for leftover curry, I got a giant styrofoam box without a secure lid and no bag to place it in. Forget that! I don't want curry spilled all over my car.

We had the buffet today for the first time and the food was terrific. There was a nice range of dishes to choose from and everything I tasted was good. The setting was intimate, clean, relaxed with helpful and efficient staff. My favorite was the paneer makhani. I had two helpings of that. The rice was cooked perfectly. For meat lovers they had goat curry and tandori chicken as well as chicken makhani. I can't wait to go back and try the regular menu one evening.

I came into this restaurant on a whim with a coworker about a year ago; I'm so glad I did. The lunch buffet is great, the restaurant is always nice and tidy, and best of all: the food is amazing. The buffet's selection isn't the widest I've seen, but it won't matter because it's all delicious. I've never had a better chicken makhani in my life.

Definitely better than other Indian Restaurants Ive been to, and way better than the Indian lunch Buffet in Visalia. I got stuffed on everything they had, which was all average to good. Service was very friendly and refilled our Nan 3 times! I would come back next time I was in Fresno and wanted Indian food. Great idea Corb. Steve out.

Im hoping I just caught them on a bad day. The food honestly tasted like reheated left overs. The Naan bread was the best ive tasted in Fresno, I will give it one more shot with hopes the food will be better.

Best Indian restaurant in town! I go to Curry House so often they know me, and know my order. I always get Paneer Korma - it's not on the menu but I love that dish. My date usually gets Chicken Tikka Masala, and this is his favorite spot in town as well. Naan is yummy, rice good, Daal Makhani delicious as well! I'm obsessed with Indian food, been to India, and starting to cook a few dishes. I'm incredibly picky about my korma and this place delivers! You know a great Indian restaurant when nearly all of their customers are Indian (unlike North India Bar and Grill).

Came for lunch buffet. Even though it was only $9.95 it was just okay, if that. The best part of the meal was the endless naan. It was warm with just the right balance of crispy and fluffy. The actual food on the buffet table was lukewarm/cold. There were about 4 to 5 dishes each of meat and vegetarian options in addition to a cold "salad bar", which I was hesitant to try. Tandoori chicken legs were very dry, I was unable to finish the whole thing. Chicken tikka masala had very nice flavor and just the right amount of spice, however during our entire lunch they did not refill this dish. We were mostly left with just a few bits of chicken at the bottom of the pan and the sauce to dip our naan. The rice was also cold--just stick with the naan! I think I took the last samosa, which also did not reappear on the buffet table for the next 1.5 hours we were there. For someone who is relatively new to Indian food, it would have been nice if there were signs that told me what I was about to eat. In addition, the server was not welcoming and was very quick to take our plates away before we were finished. I have also been here for dinner and it was a much more pleasant dining experience.

Opted for this place after other positive reviews. Ordered takeout. Got the paneer makhni, some naans (one regular one garlic) and rice. Service was great for take out. Food was delicious and well spiced (was given the option of mild, medium or spicy). Had enough food for three meals and I'm not a light eater! Only reason I rated this a 4 instead of a 5 is that they charge for the plain rice. I think Indian food (especially saucy dishes) should come with complimentary plain rice. Most Indian restaurants do this as do other places (Chinese, Thai etc.). Otherwise the food was fantastic. Will definitely come back to try their dining service. The people that were there looked happy.

Meh. This place blew. They ran out of everything on a Friday night at 7 ......... It wasn't even busy. The owners need to pull their heads out fast our they will go under. Go to hooters a few steps away LOL

The food is amazing and the servers have become friendlier each and every time. Their buttered chicken is delicious and they always have amazing desserts! Specially the mango ice cream with pistachio crusted on top. Yum!

I enjoyed the food. Unfourtantly, the server wasn't very professional and his service was slow. The environment wasn't bad but next time I'll go for take out.

I've been here twice and first time the dinner was a little pricey, but I've always heard Indian food is sort of expensive for the small amounts they give you in your order. But I love the lunch buffet! I come here all the time!

This is the best Indian food in the city. Excellent food and excellent service, the waiters are always on point and very friendly also great food presentation. I would absolutely recommend this place if you are craving great Indian food.

Good food during buffet special $8.95 fresh food. Only bad thing is the place is too small; they need to expand it to house more people. So if you go during a busy time, get a table quick!

We used to go to North India Restaurant and when it closed tried a few different places but Curry House is very much like North India. The food is delicious and the presentation is beautiful. The waiters were thoughtful and attentive and the prices reasonable. We will come here again and again. Please try this place - it won't disappoint.

Great $8.95 buffet...the way to go for me on Indian food so I can try new things. The garlic naan is great. Butter chicken awesome.

Rude, rude, rude! We arrived 30 minutes before closing and asked if there was still enough time for us to sit down and order. The owner smiled and said "Sure". Once our appetizer came out, they started dimming the lights. They started flashing the lights, signaling us to leave THREE minutes after our main dish arrived. The food wasn't bad but definitely isn't the best which makes it over-priced given the quality by comparison. Fortunately, they are not the only Indian restaurant in town. I'm never going back.

One of the best buffets around. However it would be the best of they cut back on the cream and dial up the spice a little. They have tried to westernize the taste here a little too much. Great service as well

Been here for dinner and for the lunch buffet. My wife loves Indian food, and in her opinion, (and mine, too!) this is one of the best in the area. It was nice to see lamb (very good!) and chicken dishes on the buffet. The dal and paneer were very good, though the tandoori chicken was rather bland. Everything seemed fresh and very tasty - an excellent value for $8.95. Service was efficient but not what I would consider "friendly." We will definitely be back, especially for the lunch buffet.

I've been to the Curry House several times. Their food is good, but unfortunately, my food has been lukewarm. I've ordered off the menu once and hit their buffet twice and walked out with the same reaction. Their chicken tikka masala was my favorite. I still encourage others to check them out. Hopefully they've made some changes.

  • Janet S.

Tried their lunch buffet; nice variety of dishes. Had the vegetable fritters, dal, saag paneer, chili chicken (which oddly tasted like a chinese style chicken), butter chicken (odd name, looked like a masala) and tandoori chicken, and of course basmati rice and naan. All was very flavorful, with a good spice and mild-medium heat level. A couple of items on the buffet threw me off: spring rolls and salsa. Not sure why those items were there. For dessert, some sort of cheese in sweetened condensed milk. Reminded me of a tres leches cake. A nice lunch indeed.

Delicious! Just enough heat to make your lips burn but not so much that your taste buds are burnt for the entire meal. I had the buffet--they had paneer makhani, dal, chicken makhani, tandoori chicken, vegetable pakora, pea pulao, fish curry, and assorted chutneys. It was truly sensational. They bring fresh naan to your table which is a great touch. Not a single complaint.

This place is awesome! We've never had a bad dish. We have always ordered from the menu and have always come for dinner. We've never tried the buffet because I'm not a buffet kind of person. The butter chicken is to die for!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Despite the lure of delicious Indian food, I have found - after having eaten there a few times - that the service is deplorable. Waiters/waitresses are extremely inattentive and not very personable. Also, I discovered - much to my horror - that fellow Indian people who choose to dine there get the BEST service in contrast to their fellow non-Indian diners. It's nice to know that racism is still alive and well. This used to be my favorite Indian eatery but after my disappointing and eyeopening experience I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

  • Jay P.

A very solid Indian restaurant, with excellent versions of all the Indian standards. The lunch buffet is an outstanding value. The service is a tad impersonal and the prices for na'an and rice are a bit high considering how much they cost to make. Still, this is a "you can't go wrong" option. Very reliable and tasty. Clean and quiet. Unfussy. Highly recommended.

I went there for the buffet. It was fairly limited. The pakora was very good. Almost everything else was average or below. The waitress was a sour old bag. Totally unfriendly and basically never came back to refill our drinks or to check on us. Thank you stupid waitress for changing three stars into two. Wish I could remember her name. She's the one with the face that could curdle milk. Exc - None Good - Pakora Ave - Buffet Poor - Service

CAN'T GO WRONG WITH AN INDIAN BUFFET! I've tried three different Indian places in Fresno and have never seen it as a buffet before. It was quite delicious and they had everything I was after. Masala was DELICIOUS and went perfectly with their garlic naan. Not sure what kind of Paneer or Dal I had, but they were both good as well. Pakoora was ok, as was the tandoori. I asked for the Gulab Jamun for my dessert and it was very good! Staff was friendly. I'm not gonna lie, I like North India a lot better though. Would I go back again? Yes Would I recommend? Yes Would I take a date here? No. Favorite dishes: Chicken Masala, Garlic Naan, Gulab Jamun

Nicer decor than what I'm used to at Indian buffets. Lunch buffet is excellent and service is great. I've been fortunate enough to only have eaten at good indian buffets and this one is no exception. This place may be a tad bit pricier than others but I haven't found better in fresno.

This is the best Indian food in town! The food is fantastic! Very authentic and beautifully presented. The portion sizes are very generous and the flavors are superb! The service is the best in town. Every time we come here, (and we come often!) the hostess is very attentive and especially polite. Curry House is run professionally and you can tell the owners and staff take pride in their restaurant. We appreciate their attention to detail and the obvious amount of effort put into every dish. Everything we've tried on the menu is excellent! The Balti Lamb is my favorite... If you enjoy Indian food, give this place a try!

I came here by recommendation. When asked to choose between whether she preferred North India or here, a friend told me to come here because she heard the cook from North India is now cooking here. I am a newby to Indian food but will definitely become a regular. Decor was very nice. The service was kind of slow in the beginning. It took over 25 minutes before someone came over to take my order and the restaurant had four waitstaff and wasn't even a third full. But our waitress was awesome, she was pretty knowledgable about the make-up of some of the dishes. And she was very attentive and such, she was probably on break right before she took our order because I didn't see her when we came in and sat down for 25 minutes. And the Indian music videos on constant play was pretty distracting but gave us something to amuse us by. We mostly just stared open-mouthed at the videos because most of the dancing was hilarious. My daughter, before we even received our food: "Man, they like to dance ALOT". LOL Chicken Masala is delicious, I couldn't stay away from putting the sauce on my basmati rice. Naan was also very good, there goes my low carb diet. I also got the Bhagnan Imami (I think that's how its spelled and pronounced) which is the eggplant and potatoes, it was good but too dry. My chai tea was not sweet at all. Desert was very good, I don't know what it was called but it was basically pistachio and ginger ice cream with rice noodles on top. I could have done without the rice noodles. I liked the place, but I didn't love it. I was kind of shocked at how pricey and TINY the portions are. I heard the weekday lunch buffet is a better deal. I won't go back there for a regular meal but will return for the buffet.

The best butter chicken in town! Their hand made naan is an awesome compliment to any dish you order. Not sure what to try... come for their lunch buffet and try a little bit of everything for a very reasonable price! Check out our full review and interview with the chef youtube.com/watch?v=tReC…

Super bad service. Our Server was very rude. He forget utensils, napkins, no lids on kids cups. Only came to our table once to ask if we need anything in our entire dinner. This is pathetic service for over priced food. At the end, when I get my check, I left him small tip cause I didn't get even average service. I wrote a comment. Service asked me why im leaving negative comment & I explain him why I did. He went back behind the bar, start telling other girl, they laughed when I was standing there. Rather than apologies, I get there little brain laugh. THIS PLACE SIMPLY NOT WORTH IT.

Will never return. We went on a Sunday night and was not impressed with the amount of kids running around uncontrolled. We might have interrupted a family night but the waiter assured us they were open and sat us down after asking some kids to move out of the booth. Then for some reason the waiter seemed to completely ignore me and just deal with my girlfriend. The waiter could barely communicate English and I was taken back by the amount of attitude he gave my girlfriend for asking if he could also bring her a side of basmati rice. The food was decent but the lack of hospitality and professionalism are what make me not reccomend this place to people outside of the culture running this establishment.

Great food. Nice atmosphere. Bit too many televisions for my taste, but everything we ordered was delicious. Will visit again and again.

The food on lunch buffet was really good. A nice variation of flavors. I would recommend this to anyone who would like to try Indian food to become more familiar with all the options.

Service was great with a courteous, smiling and attentive waitress. She made a couple of very good suggestions. Was extra nice to our 4 year-old and even brought us kid-friendly food (fries w/ ketchup) without us having to ask. The food came out hot and delicious. The portions were filling and we even had left overs for second breakfast (LOTR joke). :) They had Bollywood music videos playing on the screens overhead and it provided extra ambiance which my party enjoyed. Even our son. The dishes are a tiny bit pricey, however the food was worth it. The bathrooms are clean, as well as the tables and floor in the dining area. The place closes at 10 pm, but despite us passing the closing time, and a couple of other tables occupied with patrons, there was no feeling of them wanting us to leave so they could close. Once again, this is a great place tucked away among boring, same-old, same-old chain establishments. Will definitely visit again.

Pretty average and a bit bland but reliable. Not impressed by anything in particular and the portions were a little on the small side. Curry House was fine on it's own, but it pales in comparison to Brahma Bull on West Shaw!

Nice place, Good Price approximate $9 per person. They always have two sweet dishes, butter chicken, saag or spinach, samosa or pakora, 1 or 2 Daal, Butter naan and garlic naan complimentary, Always something with paneer or veggie makhani. I am regular customer to this place. But Cant eat everyday. Still place is good. Girls working their are very helpful. Sometimes They get too busy.

Back with the fam to knosh here on a Saturday. I gotta say that I'd give them an extra star just for having the lunch buffet seven days a week. I think most Indian restaurants miss the mark by limiting the buffet to the regular work week. The food is pretty consistant. Some items I really like and others are just OK. The roots of the owner's background with sweets is always evident. This seems to be the Indian eatery that I return to again and again in Fresno... for what that is worth.

Tried this restaurant during our stay at Fresno in our vacation. The food is authentic North Indian and tasted very good. The paratha's were just perfect as were the curries. Try the falooda here. It is quite good.

I have been to The Curry House a few times, only for buffet. I thought it was awesome. As a vegetarian they had a large selection and the food was great. It's reasonably priced at $10 and is open from 11-2 (I believe). Now, normally I'm not very concerned with the decor of a restaurant as much, but it was similar to that of Masala which used to occupy that space. It looks high scale. Overall, a 5 rating for outstanding food!

This place is a reliable place to have decent Indian food. They do mix up their choices. Unfortunately, the naan on our last visit seemed a bit dry and hard. But otherwise a good option to satisfy your cravings.

This is a nice place. I was pretty happy with their Chicken Tandoori; despite it being a tad on the dry side, the flavor was excellent. Their lamb curry was pretty delicious - one of the better curries I've had here, I think. They also have a really great Masala tea that I definitely recommend on a cold day. I wouldn't say that their food is spectacular, especially since it is a bit pricey for what you get, but it is once of the better Indian restaurants in Fresno. My biggest problem with this place is the service. It seems like they hire family, so there may be some inexperienced servers, but it's not that big of a deal. Overall it gets a "pretty good".

Butter chicken is good but the other stuff are either too bland or tough to chew. Service is extremely slow and the blonde waitress seemed like she was half asleep. There were only 2 tables dining when I went for lunch but we had to wait forever to get the 2 waitress attention for some more naan or water. Maybe it's just a bad day so i'll give it another try some other day.
