Stopped by here with my parents for a late lunch on a Saturday. We've been to plenty of Thai restaurants (as it is my mother's favorite), but this is our first time here. As soon as we entered, there was no doubt we were in an authentic Thai Restaurant. From the rich crimson walls, little gold accents, and elephant decor, the atmosphere screams Thai. We ordered our usual roti and chicken satay for appetizers. The roti sauce was superb. Definitely one to order. Chicken satay was alright. The chicken was a little dry for our taste but the peanut sauce is A+. For our entrees we ordered pad thai, a garlic tilapia dish, and a fried catfish dish served with eggplant. I would rank them garlic tilapia, pad thai, catfish (great-ehh) The catfish dish was a little too salty. We ordered my fave dessert mango and sticky rice. Sooo good, a MUST have.

a couple weeks ago my wife and I set off on this quest for finding a Thai restaurant with GOOD Tom Yum soup... we tried some in San Francisco, and even one in Mill Valley (good, but overpriced), but were never satisfied. we finally went to this one on coincidence. We were looking for a gift shop, but there happened to be this Thai restaurant in the same plaza. I did a quick check on Yelp, and decided to give it a try. And boy, this place is GOOD. We tried three dishes: Tom Yum soup (with prawns), green papaya salad, and Pineapple curry with chicken. ALL THREE WERE AWESOME. the Tom Yum soup is very rich in flavor (not just saltiness or sourness or spiciness), it has even a hint of sweetness in it. the prawns are very fresh and tasty. the salad is awesome too. I've mentioned before some restaurants would cheat by giving you lesser ingredients, not this one. I was expecting nothing but vegetable ingredients, but to my surprise, they added these little pieces of tiny "shrimplets" for flavor and it sure worked big time. the Pineapple curry is perfect in my book... very rich, and with the perfect combination of sweet/sour/salt/spice. and we consumed the sticky rice we ordered very quickly because of the tasty curry. other pros: excellent service - the waiter is always smiling and courteous great atmosphere - very quiet and ambivalent... nice oriental music (no lyrics) playing in the background... dark but not too dark.... perfect if you bring your loved one lots of parking very good portions - and does not cheat on ingredients very reasonable price (due to the good portions and all the goodness mentioned above)

I came here once for green curry and asked for really spicy. They asked to make sure I wanted it spicy and I said yes. When it came out, I was deeply disappointed because it wasn't spicy at all. My coworkers wanted to come here so I came with them and saw the Khao Soi on their menu. It was a curry soup noodle with chicken in it. I asked for really spicy and it was spicy and I loved it. This 4-star review is for the Khao Soi. The curry soup had flavor and was spicy and the different textures of noodles (one fried, one boiled) was definitely a highlight. I would come back for the Khao Soi anytime for lunch!!

Its cheap, friendly server, quick and good food. I like this place. I ordered the yellow curry. Good portion and taste great :)

Really great family owned Thai place. The service was really friendly and prompt. Appetizer Sampler - fish cake, veg eggroll, chicken satay, coconut shrimp. Usually, I don't like eggrolls from Thai restaurants but this one was tasty. We also, ordered the Roti Prata, penang pork rib curry, crab fried rice, Tom Kha soup, & Mango Chicken. Everything was great except I wish they had fresh roti prata instead of frozen. But only rarely do you find restaurants with fresh Roti. The penang curry especially stood out with great flavor. They have a variety of noodle soups that I would like to come back and try sometime soon!

I got the pineapple curry with tofu, and I asked for fried tofu instead of soft tofu. I also got steamed rice, which was good. The curry was really sweet, and there was a lot of sauce, which is good. The pineapple is canned though, and the tofu was quite hard and lacked flavor. There was a variety of vegetables in my curry, and there was plenty of tofu even though the tofu itself didn't taste too good. The curry was $8.95 and the rice was $1.50, but I used a Groupon (pay $9.50, get $20 to use) with my friend. So, I paid about $8.50 in total. Groupons are great! Service was okay. The waitress came by to refill our water plenty of times, and she took our order at an appropriate time as well. Based on what I ordered, I'm not sure whether I would come back again. Good prices with the Groupon, and fine service.

I was secretly hoping this place would be affiliated with Chai Thai in Oakland because that place is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the Bay Area. But I'm pretty sure they are not related in any way. I was surprised to see that they offer four different types of noodle soups including Tom Yum Noodle and Beef Noodle Soup. I got the latter one and it was pretty good. Really beefy broth but a bit too much sodium from MSG. It was packed with meat, meatballs, and garnish. I also got the Garlic Tilapia which was on the right track except it could have been crispier. When fried things aren't crispy enough, the batter becomes a burden and I just wanted to tear it all off. Lastly, I got the Pork Rib Panang Curry which another Yelper described on point when he said that the pork was good but the curry was okay. Most of the pork pieces I ate were tender and fell apart upon each bite but the curry itself tasted watered down and slightly bland. They also didn't ask how spicy we wanted it so it came out mild. I would try this place if you're in the area but be sure to use either the $15 for $20 Yelp Deal or check in for 5% off. Also, they play tons of Christian worship songs which was a little distracting for me.

Excellent! Sometimes I'm too tired after work to even phone in an order so I found one near my house that had online ordering. My food was ready for pick up when I got there. The host is very nice. The restaurant is very clean. I ordered Pineapple Curry with chicken (my latest obsession - amazing!), green curry with chicken (very good, nice consistency and amount of eggplant), and pad see ewe (also amazing!). Everything ordered medium spice which had kick but didn't burn my mouth. The thai iced tea is very good. We will be back!

I've only gotten taken out here once so this is a first impression review! This is in no way the closest thai place near me. There are probably around 10-20 restaurants that are closer to me. However, I will definitely be coming back here! Keep in mind I don't know what the dine in service is like. Although, grabbing the take out that I ordered through PayPal was a quick and pleasant transaction. The environment is an added bonus and aesthetically welcoming. Best pad kee Mao I've had!!! I also had Tom kha and massaman curry, both very good. Ordered everything as spicy (the next step and highest is very spicy) but it was not as spicy as I was expecting, although this is understandable because some people have skewed ideas of spicy lol. Everything fresh and hot even after the 20 minute drive home.

This place has a new owner and the food tastes way better than before. The food is way less oily than the previous owner. Food is great and thai tea is yummy!

It was rather quiet when I came here with my family during lunch hour on a Sunday. Perhaps it's the location? The server was super nice, young girl and the place looked like it was family owned. We had a groupon and thought to gave this place a shot and definitely were pleased! We had the basil beef, panang curry with chicken, and catfish. I was the biggest fan of the panang curry bc I'm an avid curry lover so I'll talk more on that. The Panang curry was really runny yet rich and creamy. I could tell they added a generous amount of coconut milk to it, which added a really sweet taste to it. The chicken in the curry wasn't dry which it often times is so I was very pleased! Service was great, food was great. My family and I would come back if we're in the area and craving Thai food.

I Went There in the Mid Afternoon to have a Banana Ice Cream, It was Not Upto my mark, where i ate it in most of the Thai Restaurants which were truly Awesome. I Ordered for to go and mentioned the waiter over there to make it a bit fast as i have to catch the bus..but he took 20 mins for my order, which is more than the expected time.place is good

We had tofu curry with brown rice. The sauce wasn't really warm and it's a little bit too sweet. I think it's the matter of the chef's experience . We also ordered a rice noodle with shrimps and mushrooms, which is shown on the window and not on the menu,it's just decent as well. But the service was good and we had mango sticky rice for dessert,it's good though .

I was waiting on Aijisen Ramen next door but it isn't open 'til 5:30pm for dinner. I was hungry like a dinosaur and saw this new Thai place next door, I didn't hesitate to eat in. I ordered the Tom Yum noodles. It is a delicious spicy clear broth with roast pork, ground pork, pork liver slices, bean sprouts, slices of mustard greens, little red shrimp, two fish balls, sliced pork, and all kinds of other goodness. The broth has a nice clean and vinegar flavor to it. Flavors explodes with taste on your tongue. It's sort of like pad thai but in soup version... Great soup! Not too lemon-grassy, not too galangal-y, and not too fish-saucy either. Don't forget to check-in on Yelp to redeem your 5% off of your total bill. Also, during lunch special they serve free Thai milk tea! I still have yet to try out more items on their menu. Will see you soon!

Being a huge fan of the former BKK Thai that used to be here - I knew I had to try the place when they changed owners. Clearly by the looks of my review, I was not disappointed. My boyfriend and I stopped by on a random Wednesday night and sadly the place was dead. Really wish more people knew about the place. The location is kind of in the middle of nowhere but it's definitely worth the try. We ordered two dinner entrees - yellow curry and spicy catfish, as well as the roti with curry as an appetizer. The portions were huge! Service was really friendly and the food is delicious. What more can you ask for? Definitely coming back next time I'm in the mood for some Thai food. FYI: Don't forget to check in on yelp for a 5% discount :)

I usually like this place because it's convenient and vegetarian-friendly. Today I went here with my coworkers but I wasn't happy about the serving process and the additional $1.50 per ice cream scoop of rice. About the serving sequence, I ordered a vegetarian Tom Yum Soup Pot for myself and they gave me a plate. I don't think I need a plate to eat with my soup... The most annoying part was that my order went first before everyone else's and they didn't even give me my additional rice that I ordered. So I had to wait for the scoop of rice to come first and then eat my cold soup! Overall I wish the server was more observant because everything was completely inexperienced and wrong.

Chef Chai Thai Cuisine is a newly opened Thai restaurant here inside The Galleria Shopping Center here in Fremont. Oh and yes, they are the same owners as CoCurry Thai Cuisine in Newark. Although they are the same as CoCurry in Newark, the food isn't all the same, taste wise. We had bought a Yelp Deal for this place which was $15 for $20 worth of food. So we ordered 3 dishes to try and share. House Special Fried Rice (Okay, nothing special). Pad See Ew with Chicken ( LOVED the Pad See Ew!) Tom Yum Noodle (Not Spicy at all....even though it is supposed to be). With the Tom Yum Noodle, first of all our server didn't ask us how spicy we wanted it, or with what kind of noodle we wanted, like they always do at CoCurry. Not to mention, it was not Spicy at all, and the portion size was much smaller than it is at CoCurry. Hardly any noodles, mainly bean sprouts.... I LOVED the Pad See Ew, very good, full of great flavor and just simply tasty!! The House Special Fried Rice was okay, nothing too special with that. It was okay, little flavor, but not too much. A bonus was when I asked if they gave Thai Ice Tea for free (because other Yelpers have said they have gotten it free) the lady said no we don't offer free Thai Tea. However, I ordered one anyways. When we got our bill they didn't charge us for a Thai Tea! The Thai Tea was extremely sweet...this might have been the sweetest Thai Tea I've ever had so far... but they didn't charge us for it so it's okay. The overall verdict, is that we won't make a special trip out to Chef Chai Thai Cuisine, when CoCurry is much closer and we that location better. But, give this place a try though! :)

We saw that a Thai place was located next to Ajisen Ramen so we decided to try it out. We ordered the Appetizer Sampler, Roti with Yellow Curry, Panang Chicken Curry, Fried Shrimp in a garlic sauce (I don't know the correct name of the dish) and Sticky Rice with Mango. Although they ran out of the Choo Chee Salmon Curry, the Chicken Panang Curry was a great replacement. The curry was not a very thick consistency but it marinated the rice nicely. The coconut milk makes the curry taste a bit sweet but it goes well with the red and green bell peppers. The chicken in the curry was cut into small pieces which made it easier to eat. The Roti with Yellow Curry came out quite small but it was $3.25 which is a reasonable price. I was quite skeptical because the image in the menu wasn't as appetizing as it really was. The roti was crispy and the yellow curry was delicious. The appetizer sampler tastes pretty good especially the Satay Chicken. The peanut sauce was much different from other places but it didn't taste bad either. STICKY RICE WITH MANGO ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. It comes in a shape of a heart and the mango are cut into thin shapes to outline the heart with a few huge mango chunks in the center which creates a bed for the sticky rice. The sticky rice is sweet but not to sweet and it's not as sticky as other places. The mangos were sweet and declines and it made my stomach happy. Overall our dining experience was pretty good. Make sure to check in to get 5% of your meal.

Friendly staff, speedy, good portion size and very delicious Thai food. Free Thai tea with lunch special!!! :D Will definitely visit again!! I personally recommend their pad kee mao, make sure to get mild if you can't handle spicy. Medium is good too though! Come visit!

TIP: 5% off your bill with a check-in and free Thai Iced Milk Tea for lunch! Chef Chai was originally BKK Thai ( yelp.com/biz/bkk-thai-cu… ) a while back and upon visiting post-new(?) management (and younger waitresses), it looks like they've semi-renovated, or at least painted the walls a nice red. They generally made this place a bit more bright, well-lit place. The chairs seem to be the same though and they've still got their free Thai iced milk tea for lunch special. Their menu grown extensively and they've included a lot more items too. So maybe re-branding? I didn't ask. The ambiance is definitely better than before. THAI ICED MILK TEA - YUM! Very strong thai tea flavors. Probably my fav in the Bay Area. It was a little too sweet for me though so ask for less sugar if you can. It's free so damn this is really worth it. I got the lunch special ~$8 and it comes with soup and rice (not included if your dish already has rice or is noodles). My friend and I shared our two lunch specials. We ordered Red Curry and Pad Thai. The dishes come with fried wonton w/ sour cream inside, some peanuts and some lettuce with spicy sauce over it. I really enjoyed both dishes despite the fact that they were both on the sugar-heavy side. I think most Thai places in the US tend to over-sugar their dishes so it was semi-expected. The Pad Thai was pretty solid, flavors were there. The curry was way too sweet for me at the end though, even though the flavor and spices were right. While that bothered me, I still enjoyed the meal a lot. Portions were LARGE too, both of us had to pack the rest to-go. Service is still good and it's nice that it's not super noisy inside. You honestly can't expect anything better with this price. I'll be back.

As you take your first steps inside this serene, comfortable atmosphere, a pungent aroma of spice greets you, sending a warming chill through your backbone. Alright, alright, that was a failed attempt at trying to sound like an eloquent gourmet, but the experience I had here was close to- what I perceive to be- a TV gourmets' with the "ohh"s and "ahh"s while spooning themselves with mouthful after mouthful of delicacies. The massaman curry (pronounced mus-ah-mun if you're curious) was exquisite from beginning to end: from the tender beef to the complete harmony of the sweet and savory sauce, the best I've ever had. The one problem, if you can even call it that, was the glare from the lights arranged on the ceiling making it difficult to see the TV. Yeah, I know. Picky right? Well, I'm sure that this issue will be remedied soon and I'll be able to change this review to a 5, so go in and enjoy it!

Excellent Thai Food We had the Massaman Curry and Spicy Bamboo Shoots. Cream Cheese Won Ton Appetizer. Prompt, friendly service. Reasonable prices. Only thing missing was the Thai beer but their working on that. Great find, we will be back!

The owner is so nice and amazingly helpful! If you're looking for some good authentic Thai food, definitely come here. Would recommend the garlic tilapia, mussel crab, beef stew noodle soup, and the sweet sticky rice with mango for dessert!

Excellent Tom Kha - just the right amount of spice. Also tried something different - the Sen Jun Pad Pu (Crab with Rice Noodles). It wasn't bad - not something that I would order again - just different. It was good enough that I would have loved to have tried the curries (which folks were ordering around me ). Very friendly waitress - definitely top marks for being attentive. Next time I'm in town, I'll stop by again!

I was looking for a place to get my wife and I food because she was working late and I found this new place. I got to say I am impressed it looks awesome inside and the food smells even better. I don't usually go to other Thai places to get my favorites but I will definitely be coming back here the service is great and the hostess was very polite. Free scoop of ice cream with a check-in. come check this place out Yum yum!!!

Authentic food and friendly service. The appetizers sampler is a must try. Most of the curry dishes are pretty good, but we didn't care much for the garlic tilapia. The spiciness level is above the average. If you order it extra spicy, make sure you can really handle it. I always ask for the hot sauce tray to suit my own preference. Check in to get 5% off.

Food: 5 stars, food tastes really good here, its my second time visiting Chef Chai and really enjoyed both the visits Service: 4 stars, service is good, nothing complain able.. they are really nice in listening to us and recommending spicy ness. Ambience : 4 stars.. This is a decent small resturant but a bit cramped.. Other than everything is great. Don't forget to enjoy their free ice tea..

We were in Fremont last weekend for an event and received a recommendation to try Chef Chai from a friend. We been to Krung Thai and Dusita's in San Jose many times and our visit here was well worth it. The food was fast. the portions good and the spiciness was well tempered. What surprised me the most was all the dishes had an overabundance of the protein selected. The Tom Yom soap with seafood had all the premium items and in plentiful supply. Clams, shrimp, scallops, squid, etc.. The Penang curry had a lot of chicken and all the other dishes were great. Overall, I like the small atmosphere and personal service. The place was well decorated, clean and fresh.

If not for the Groupon discount, we didn't even know of this place. Apparently, this is a new restaurant and this one waitress was not ready to serve at all. After we mentioned to this waitress about the Groupon voucher, it seemed that she's not even interested in serving our table. We had to call out loud for someone to take our orders. And when the other waitress signaled this waitress to come over to our table, she tried to attend to another table before she was called again to come over to our table. What a waitress! As for the food, the portion was not as sizable as I would have liked. The yellow curry was way too sweet. The roti was too greasy. Restaurants usually charge 18% gratuity for groups of 6 or more people. That I understand, but for lunch? Come on! Will I come back again? hmm.....no way.

Pleasantly satisfied! I always have to try the green curry whenever I go to a new Thai spot, and this one was quite delicious! I really liked how the order came with an abundance of meat (I got chicken) because some places won't give you as much. Nice and friendly service and I gotta say I appreciated that Sunday Football was playing on the TV, lol. Overall, I'd try this place again to see how their other dishes are.

Best neighborhood thai restaurant! Price is very reasonable I.e. the mango with sticky rice dessert only costs $5.95 and the food is very good. My favorite is the tom tum soup with shrimp and the green curry with eggplant and chicken. Super friendly people and outstanding service.

Let me start out by subtracting a star for not having spring rolls, I mean what? They have 'deep fried' ones but they cannot make them without frying them, therefore they are eggrolls! Grody... Anyway, their curry is amazing! Their fried tofu... worst fried tofu I've ever had, but everything else was divine. I ordered the Pinapple Curry with vegetables instead of meat, the house fried rice (egg), the horrid fried tofu, and an order of brown rice (really good brown rice!!!). My friend got the Roti which was delish, some sort of chicken, and cream cheese won tons. All were delectable. I will definitely come here again, just not expecting spring rolls or succumbing to the sound of fried tofu.

Food is delish & reasonably price. I had Penang curry & pad kew mao both are just right on key! Will come back here if I have a crave of Thai food. Service is friendly & super nice. They even add a bit more white rice for my left over curry ! Thumbs up for this

I had high hopes for this place, only to be led to complete and utter disappointment. Service was slow considering there were only two other occupied tables, no free Thai tea was offered as described in so many other reviews, and portion sizes- let's not even get me started on that. Bleak, at best. As is customary for me when I frequent Thai restaurants, when I came here, I was on a mission for Tom Yum soup. I ordered the large pot of shrimp soup, hoping to be blown away by something awesome, considering the heftier than normal $16 price tag. But alas. The soup came out in an extremely small bowl, with some shrimp and mushrooms floating on the top. I have to say, I was immediately dismayed. Still, I gave it a try, and the sadness persued. Shrimp was very obviously frozen, if not, borderline freezer burned. Mushrooms were good, I guess you can't really screw up mushrooms. Overall, I was not impressed. I shan't be returning. At least not anytime soon.

Five stars if they had alcohol...but that only applies if you're a drinker. Love the Som Tum; be sure to ask for the crab with it, you won't be disappointed! Other highlights include tom yum, duck curry, and larb salad.

This is by far the best Thai restaurant I have ever been to in my entire life! not only is the food out of this worl, but the service is wonderful! the atmosphere is relaxing the prices are reasonable I will drive many miles to come to this restaurant. I have been to many other Thai restaurants and this takes the prize!
The beef noodles are fantastic, definite recommend it. Great deal using yelp's coupon.

Service sucks!!!!! Came here for lunch with my boyfriend and the girl who served us was so rude. She didn't even care that we were there. She handed is the menus, waited a bit, came back & stood there waiting for us to say what we wanted.... Like wtf? The food was alright, nothing special. Kind of like the previous Thai place that was here a lot better.

Free Thai tea! Chef Chai Thai Cuisine is a great lunch place, they have large portions, fresh food, and very friendly staff. For just under $8 the lunch special includes Thai Tea, Salad, Fried Wanton Wrappers, and an entree of your choice. There's a good variety of dishes to choose I ended up ordering the Panang Curry which came with a side of Rice and my friend got the Pad Ke Mao. Everything tasted great, the thai tea was a little sweet for my taste but then again thai tea is usually always to sweet for me, and the curry seemed a little to runny nonetheless the flavor wasn't at all watered down. My friend enjoyed his pad ke mao as well. They don't cheap out on the protein in there plates either there was more chicken then there was noodles. All in all came in hungry left beyond satisfied, what more can you for from a restaurant? Definitely worth the drive.

We ordered two curries and crystal soup to go. I'm not a big thai food fan, but my friend is and said the food was good. I thought the curry and soup tasted ok but then again curries pretty much taste the same to me anywhere. The big Negative and the reason i wont come back here is they charged me 6 bucks for a small cup of soup with barely any broth and a shi ton of noodles and charged us extra for rice???? 3$ for two small containers of rice to go with the curry(7-8$ each).. strange that rice wouldn't of come with the curries.. Maybe it's because we ordered takeout, who knows. just felt nickel and dimed.
(3)
Ting-Yu C.
I work nearby so I get their takeout sometimes. The food is pretty good, in my opinion. Their service is pretty decent, too. they might be a little slow at times since they have limited personnel. My main issue with them is the fact that they only provide free rice for dine-in lunch, which I can't do. I know they changed owners or something, but I remember they used to provide rice with takeout. It's only a dollar extra for rice, but it makes me sad, anyway.

Came here and assumed they just knew me because they slid a Thai Iced Tea in front of me. Haha, nope! Free Thai iced tea!! That's just an amazing concept for me. Food was fantastic, and well priced.

This restaurant has to be the same owners as Cocurry Thai in Newark, because the menu and the food are exactly the same. The place is small and had little customers when I was there on the weekend. I found the food to be good. The employees were new and the waitress had little experience with the register. But they were all friendly and tried to make up for it with hard work and a free thai iced tea. The Panang Pork Rib is tasty but the curry itself is very watery.

Haven't been here since the name change. The food is much improved (to my taste buds at least). The interior has been repainted, same simple design but again much better. The staff was attentive but didn't over do it. Chef Chai has been added back to my lunch placce list.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant!! My husband and I are obsessed with their Garlic tilapia. So yummy. We get it here for lunch and dinner. We have tried their other dishes and they are all good. However, I think I have had better thai tea elsewhere. Another plus is the friendly staff and owner. =)

Guess it's been a while since our last visit! They changed the name & ownership... And staff! Service was good, not exceptional nor anything to complain about. Food... What we ordered, it was either hit or miss. Pad Thai and Pad See Ew were not tasty, barely edible. Noodles were overlooked, pad Thai was too sweet, pad see ew flavoring off, and chicken in pad see ew way over cooked and dry. My kids usually finish up the entire plate of pad see ew. Other dishes were either good to ok. Tried their duck fried rice, flavoring was good, but either too much sauce or not enough rice. Kids loved the coconut milk curry dipping sauce and the roti, it was really good. Their Tom yum soup was delicious. But will we come back here? Probably not... As we always order pad see ew for the kids and it seems their noodle dishes were just not up to par!

Ordered Phad Thai and pineapple fried rice. Phad Thai too sweet and only had sugar flavor , not even taste the ketchup... I rather drink a can of regular coke. Pineapple fried rice is okay, but will not order again, too much MSG, felt like they were using pre-made packaged fried rice seasoning powder or sauce to fry the rice...

I have been going to the Banh and Krung and Amarin Thais for a while now. Not to take anything away from them , I was very pleasantly surprised by this quaint little place. Amazing Panang Curry ( order mild if you dont like spicy) and yummy Chicken Satay and Pad See Ew. I am definitely going back to this place. A little understaffed but very friendly and try their best to attend to all the folks . Keep up the good work.

This place has the BEST service ! And the BEST chef !! I would recommend to everyone :) most restaurants are not even open after 3pm usually they close before 5pm and re -open but this amazing gem is open all day until evening.

After management changed from the previous BKK owners the level of customer service has gone down significantly and so has the quality... A shame as I like small joints and the previous one had a very nice crab fried rice recipe. I clearly and repeatedly made sure when I ordered a crab fried rice for it to be made hot and spicy... What I received was bland and substandard... Very little crab meat and when I called them to complain, all I got was it that they heard that I wanted hot sauce on the side... Not once did I get an apology or offer to exchange the meal... Very disappointed... Needless to say I won't be going there anytime soon :-(

The one thing i dislike about thai places is that they pre-boil their meat on the side and just add them to sauces as they go. This place was way too obvious in doing that. I ordered the chicken curry, pork rib panang, pad thai and others. The chicken was overpowering. U know that strong smell of days old chicken? It was like that!! I wish that they would cook them together instead of separately. U can tell they dont because the meat wasnt coated in sauce.

UPDATE: The rude waitress/hostess mentioned below, by the name of ALEX T. here on yelp.com had the audacity to contact me and label it as a "compliment" - however, her words were nothing but insulting and full of hatred. She conveyed to me the condition of her wretched heart: " Sounds like some ugly fat b-tch just got jealous at the waitress." ---------WOW! First, correct your English, Alex T. CAPISCE?!!! Without going into great details about my profound response to this puerile and highly doltish remark from an androgynous entity, this just proves my points below and how valid my review is. (BTW, ALEX T. only did 2 reviews on yelp.com and one of them was the place she works at: Chef Chai Thai Cuisine - lol - how deceitful! How many other counterfeit reviews are on this particular restaurant...heed my warning about the HAIR and INSECTS on their food!!!!) We made a pit stop here for dinner last night and had great expectations due to the glowing past reviews; however, those expectations were completely shattered...everything turned out to be a disappointment. We didn't get a greeting from the hostess - she was rude also later when I informed her how diabetic(ally) sweet the Thai Iced Tea was...pure sugar with maybe 10% actually tea??? I couldn't taste the tea, and this was the first time in any restaurant that it was like just drinking straight up HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. The ostentatious hostess with her getup black tank top and short short mini skirt (btw it didn't look good on her and it was completely unprofessional attire) said NO ONE has ever complained before regarding the drink...I was thinking, UH, NO! You should never argue with a nice customer who was just offering feedback. Never, ever, ever! I can assume safely that the little 10 oz drink was made up of 50 g of PURE SUGAR. I would've gone into a hyperglycemic coma. Anyway, it was all downhill from there...even the NON-ENGLISH SPEAKING WAITRESS looked so clueless...she tried to take our order but she really needs to be trained to be friendly also. So, we WAITED for close to 30 MINUTES!!! We didn't even receive our appetizer - the crispy wings - which was very dry looking, and it had a HAIR on top of the basil leaves...when my other co-guest was about to take a bite of the 1st wing, there was a small gnat/mosquito looking INSECT attached to it, gasping for it's last breath, because it literally was still trying to wiggle around on her plate....YUCK!!!! I called on the gracious hostess (lol) and she offered to replace it, but it just put a damper on the rest of our evening...our appetites were pretty much GONE. This place needs a FOOD SAFETY RESTAURANT HEALTH INSPECTOR A.S.A.P.!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had pork noodle soup for lunch...it was delicious. It has very authentic flavor like what you would get in Thailand. The portion size is huge and it's only $8.95. I'm in love with this place and will come back to try different kind of noodles on the menu here.

well worth it ! got the sampler appetizer. Everything was great. Shrimp was cooked prefectly and the fish cakes were very tasty (first time I've ever had them and will definitely get them again). Chicken satay was a little over cooked by very tasty. between the four of us we had chicken, duck, shrimp and combination seafood. I've always judged thai and more generally asian restaurants on how they cook squid. The squid in my Pad Cha Seafood was cooked perfectly. Next time I will get it Thai Hot instead of just Hot. Basil Roasted Duck had nice crispy skin and a good amount of thai basil and garlic green beans. Curry shrimp was a good balance of spicy and sweet and the shrimp were cooked perfectly.

Driving around the South end of Fremont with a friend, and have gone to a few places in this little shopping center. Food was delicious. Customer service wasn't the best in the entire world, but won't stop me from coming back time and time again. Wanted to order the mango curry- but not available, boo, but that might have been a seasonal thing. I am a staple for Pad See Ew, Pra Ram, and green curries. Green curry was the best main dish I think out of what we ordered that day. We also split the wontons, ohh man, talk about fried goodness, get your sweats on and can eat 20. I enjoyed if you didn't notice. Plenty of left overs to eat your heart out later for a quick bite to take to work. You gotta get some stable thai food places here and there, I will be back.

Came here when it was called bkk and the food was great. I ordered the pineapple fried rice, not what I expect it to taste like. Also don't like how they don't have the BBQ fried rice anymore. One star only for letting me use the 5% off for take out when on the yelp app it says dine-in only.

We were the first to arrive to the restaurant then two other families came in behind us and because they used Yelp to get 5% discount we were served last, it was over 90° and they didn't turn on their air-conditioning until we left.... The food was very good we would recommend getting it to go next time.

Cheap but not delicious. The worst thai tea I've ever tried.

I came here with a Groupon and got the roti, pad thai, and pad see-ew. The roti was good, but I was really disappointed with the pad thai. It was very bland and the noodles were all clumped together. Even with the groupon discount I felt that we overpaid, so I won't be going back.

Came here three days ago with my friend and my husband. Food was decent and customer service was great. My pad thai was not the best I have tasted but it was still pretty good. They were nice enough to accommodate my request of no tofu and served us with a smile. Prices are reasonable, especially with the yelp deal they have going! I am satisfied.

Amazing food!!! My girlfriend and I had the basil duck and basil crisp tilapia. Even though we were getting full we kept eating!!! That's how good it was. The server and owner Alex is very sweet and made us a special dessert. I recommend this place to anyone who loves Thai food. :-)

Both the red and green curry were awesome. Lunch portion is perfect size and comes with soup, salad and wonton. The waitress didn't speak very good English, but I suppose that only adds to the experience. I will definitely be coming back to try the other dishes.

This place is a bit hidden away but once you find it, you're golden. Real Thai food is hard to find, home cooked Thai food; this is the only place. Service is good, the chef and owner is pretty nice. The basil duck is my favorite, and the desserts are all good. Ask to meet the owner, Alex, and say hello. Service gets even better after.

This is a great little Thai restaurant that I have driven by for so many years but never tried because it sits in the back of a parking lot just off of Warm Springs Blvd. and I didn't even know it was there. The family and I tried it tonight by chance. What a treat! We ordered Pad Thai, Fried Rice, BBQ CHICKEN, Coconut Shrimp and my 'new' favorite...FRIED TOFU with a peanut chili sauce! I never had FRIED TOFU but this was so delicious that I ordered a second serving. The food was great and the service was as well. We're definitely going back!

What an awesome find! Small place that is tucked into the corner of Galleria Shopping Center. Super friendly family owned restaurant with delicious food. Panang curry, spicy eggplant, pad thai, and cashew chicken were all very good. The Yelp deals are an added plus!

(4)Alice W.
(5)Hobby-less R.
Great food for value, great service.

(5)Jon G.
Pretty decent. Went for the lunch special which turned out to be a pretty good deal. I'm definitely looking forward to going again soon.
(4)Farwah K.
Complimentary thai iced tea while you waiting for your order ... Cant wait to try their food!
(4)Karen C.
(5)Donna N.
This place has a new owner and the food tastes way better than before. The food is way less oily than the previous owner. Food is great and thai tea is yummy!
(4)Jo L.

I Ordered for to go and mentioned the waiter over there to make it a bit fast as i have to catch the bus..but he took 20 mins for my order, which is more than the expected time.place is good
(3)Joe O.
Tom yum soup was badass!!! Deep fried tilapia was badass!!! Calamari and roti for appetizer were badass!!! Crab fried rice was badass!!! Very tasty shrimp pad Thai!!! Just a badass meal!!! Definitely coming back to try everything else!!!! 4 stars for one of my fave Thai resto!!!!!
(4)Kidswan W.

(4)Divya N.
I usually go to this place during my lunch break with friends. The pineapple fried was delicious among all the dishes we ordered. Good service! It's clean n nice inside.

(4)Vicky N.

(3)Cecilia Y.
(4)Sonya M.
Friendly staff, speedy, good portion size and very delicious Thai food. Free Thai tea with lunch special!!! :D Will definitely visit again!! I personally recommend their pad kee mao, make sure to get mild if you can't handle spicy. Medium is good too though! Come visit!
(5)Vinky I.
(4)Theron N.
(4)Mimi C.
Our first time here. Food was good as well as their service. We'll be coming back here to try the other menus!
(5)Martin R.
Excellent Thai Food We had the Massaman Curry and Spicy Bamboo Shoots. Cream Cheese Won Ton Appetizer. Prompt, friendly service. Reasonable prices. Only thing missing was the Thai beer but their working on that. Great find, we will be back!
(5)Angela T.
The owner is so nice and amazingly helpful! If you're looking for some good authentic Thai food, definitely come here. Would recommend the garlic tilapia, mussel crab, beef stew noodle soup, and the sweet sticky rice with mango for dessert!
(5)David K.
(4)Philip L.
(5)Dave C.
(4)Raj K.
(5)Paul G.
(5)Theodore H.
(2)Pauline D.
(4)David C.

We went in for an unplanned last Sunday dinner, all the foods that we were order is so good and fresh food. Inside the restaurant is very nice and cleaned placed. I will definitely be coming back here the service is great and the hostess was very polite. Thank you very much for your service!!!!

Pleasantly surprised! Friendly service. We went in for an unplanned Sunday lunch. We had Tom Kau Gai (excuse my spelling)- the coconut based spicy chicken soup with basil, lime leaf and bamboo shoots. It was delightfully savory and spicy. I would definitely order this again, We had the Basil chili beef for our entree, along with the pineapple rice. The beef was good (nothing too exciting, but the soup was so flavorful that I think anything afterwards would have been lacking). So then, there's texture. The beef was tender and the peppers sautéed nicely, not too mushy. The rice, while decent, was slightly overlooked (a bit pasty), and somewhat bland. Again, I'll hold total judgment on the post soup entrees because I think my taste buds were all aglow from the soup. In all, worth a quick stop for lunch. I'd definitely return for the soup if I were in the neighborhood. Not worth a special trip, though.

The beef noodles are fantastic, definite recommend it. Great deal using yelp's coupon.

Very nice restaurant! The service was great and the food was tasty! My boyfriend and I ordered roti, beef with oyster sauce, and a ginger seafood dish. I would definitely go back!

(3)Ting-Yu C.
(4)Raquel R.

(4)Scott D.

(5)Judy M.
(3)Tina C.
(2)Sarra L.
The dishes are surprisingly good. So, is the service! I think I have found a new place for my to go lunch or dinner!!
(5)Kaushik R.
(4)Joanna_ Q.

(5)Frank E.
well worth it ! got the sampler appetizer.

(4)Charmane S.
Came here when it was called bkk and the food was great. I ordered the pineapple fried rice, not what I expect it to taste like. Also don't like how they don't have the BBQ fried rice anymore. One star only for letting me use the 5% off for take out when on the yelp app it says dine-in only.
(1)Lea H.
We were the first to arrive to the restaurant then two other families came in behind us and because they used Yelp to get 5% discount we were served last, it was over 90° and they didn't turn on their air-conditioning until we left.... The food was very good we would recommend getting it to go next time.
(3)Xuguang Z.
Cheap but not delicious. The worst thai tea I've ever tried.
(2)Katie S.
I came here with a Groupon and got the roti, pad thai, and pad see-ew. The roti was good, but I was really disappointed with the pad thai. It was very bland and the noodles were all clumped together. Even with the groupon discount I felt that we overpaid, so I won't be going back.
(2)Oanh H.
This place is amazing, epecially the panang curry, the sampler, and the mango sweet rice.
(5)Narongdet W.
Good Food n Friendly service ;) I recommend choo chee salmon n mussel crepes. :D Thank you
(5)Thermo S.
(4)Fortunato Y.
Amazing food!!! My girlfriend and I had the basil duck and basil crisp tilapia. Even though we were getting full we kept eating!!! That's how good it was. The server and owner Alex is very sweet and made us a special dessert. I recommend this place to anyone who loves Thai food. :-)
(5)Justin C.
Both the red and green curry were awesome. Lunch portion is perfect size and comes with soup, salad and wonton. The waitress didn't speak very good English, but I suppose that only adds to the experience. I will definitely be coming back to try the other dishes.
(5)John L.

After visiting this restaurant twice

This is a great little Thai restaurant that I have driven by for so many years but never tried because it sits in the back of a parking lot just off of Warm Springs Blvd. and I didn't even know it was there. The family and I tried it tonight by chance. What a treat! We ordered Pad Thai, Fried Rice, BBQ CHICKEN, Coconut Shrimp and my 'new' favorite...FRIED TOFU with a peanut chili sauce! I never had FRIED TOFU but this was so delicious that I ordered a second serving. The food was great and the service was as well. We're definitely going back!
(5)Angelica E.
My friends and I tried there for the first time and absolutely love it. Definitely going back there again. My favorite is the Panang Pork Rib!
(5)Bena P.
Service was great. Food is excellent and large portions, ended up taking some home. It is small and quiet. Food arrived quickly after we orderd. A golden gem in my own back yard
(4)Andrew R.
Great service! Great food. Very nice people. I only wish they lived closer to me so I can come more often. This place is awesome and I can wait to come back soon. Really good lunch menu prices.
(5)Dennis H.
What an awesome find! Small place that is tucked into the corner of Galleria Shopping Center. Super friendly family owned restaurant with delicious food. Panang curry, spicy eggplant, pad thai, and cashew chicken were all very good. The Yelp deals are an added plus!
