Happy Garden Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Live just down the street, so if traffic is bad, come here. Very Expensive for the size of portions you get, Seem to have a lot of turn over in the kitchen, same items vary taste and appearance greatly. Food is alright, but just because it is close. Always the first to raise prices.

So I actually heard a lot of poor things about this restaurant prior to eating here last month. By the reviews on yelp and what I've heard others I was a little hesitant about having a group meeting (of 20 people) here but I still gave it a shot... I'm not sure but I think this place might be under new management or maybe changed kitchen staff, I could be wrong. Anyway, I was very satisfied with the service and the food was great! When I arrived a the restaurant our meeting area was set up at one side of the restaurant. After everyone arrived the food came out very quickly- dish after dish of very well cooked Chinese food. (Its hard to find good Chinese food in this area- but being Chinese myself I thought it was good. We were served 6 dishes plus rice at $10 per person. We had Honey Walnut Prawns, Mongolian Beef, Chicken with Asparagus, Pork with String Bean, Combination of Mixed Vegetable, Chicken or Beef or BBQ pork or Vegetable Chow Mein. There were no complaints about any of the food. Everyone went home happy and full.

Kind of expensive, but it was worth it! By far the BEST CHINESE FOOD I'VE EVER HAD. If you go, order the black bean chicken and the hot and sour soup. Authentic Chinese food at its best.

I am not sure why people come here. It might be because there is a limited number of Chinese Restaurants in Fairfield. One thing is certain the food is average and that is on a good day. I came here one night because my in-laws were in town and I did not want to drive too far. When I got there, I wasn't greeted and it took them a while to acknowledge me. But it was a Saturday and they were sort of busy, I told them that I was going to buy take out and they directed me towards a table. I sat down and asked if I could have some tea while I chose what to order. He gave me a weird look. What? Tea is only given to eat in orders? What gives? I ordered and asked what the fresh vegetables were. He told me that all the vegetables were fresh. So, I took his word. Walnut Prawns Mustard Greens Fried Rice Salt and Pepper Pork chops I picked up my food, took it home and shared it with my family. Worst Chinese take out I have ever had. Will I go back factor: Absolutely not Would I recommend: Not even to my worst enemy, even they have standards

My family goes to Happy Garden simply because it is literally the only Chinese place close to our house. They have all the basics that any other Chinese restaurant would have, but I am sad to say that I can't remember anything being particularly good. Service is always hit or miss...sometimes you get your food in a few minutes, sometimes in 20. For the price you pay, I think the food is worth it, especially if you order off their lunch specials menu.

I grew up eating at the owner's old restaurant in Fairfield. I was very happy when they re-opened in Green Valley so many years ago. This place is much better than Sticky Rice, and way less expensive. Great dishes include the Mongolian Chicken, Hot and Sour Soup, Salt and Pepper fish and any meat with the spicy sting beans. Lunch specials are solid and well priced. The food is always consistent.

4 stars primarily for the DINNER for TWO which includes: - Cheese wontons: cream cheese filled and fried wontons (not a fan, but only because I don't like these in general haha, I have asked to substitute for another appetizer before and I paid the difference) -Sizzling seafood rice soup: good, but not a fan of the rice in it - Honey walnut prawns: Definite plus! My fav dish and I never seen it on a menu under family combos/deals/specials - Fried rice: mmm! Comes with egg, chicken, beef, vegetables, (one time even spam)(it's a mixture of different things haha) - Sizzling beef platter: (I think this is what it's called). simply delicious! **I highly recommend ordering this deal, it's more than enough for two people and you will have leftovers still! I will keep coming back for this! The only somewhat negative thing is that the rest of the menu/food seems pricey for chinese food(most entrees cost ~$10, and I'm used to it starting at ~$7-8). This is what stops me from trying other entress and I just keep getting the family deal. Besides that, the customer service is great! Continuous water refills & complimentary hot tea. They leave the teakettle with you but sometimes, the server will come by to refill your tea! They are very nice and accommodating! I have some food allergies which they kindly take my requests to not include certain ingredients/food in my order. They have 2 flat screen tvs (and they don't just play asian stuff, but have news or sport games on). Very clean restaurant and unique tables and chairs.

Best black bean prawns in town, to die for! Good prices and portions, whatever I get it always tastes fresh and delicious. Highly recommended!

I frequent this restaurant and have found this dining experience to be a top contender in the Fairfield area. The food is always pleasing to the palate. My favorite is the garlic chicken. You will not be disappointed if you decide to visit this great restaurant.

first and only time I will ever go there. I ordered the lunch special. sweet and sour pork special with steamed rice. I got the salad as I ordered it to go. The "salad" they refer to is lettuce and some tomatoes. I wouldn't touch the lettuce if I hadn't eaten in a week. It was brown. Looked like they had been reusing it for days. I wouldn't feed it to live stock. I will not be telling any of my friends about this place ever!!!!! BTW i called in and told the manager this as well.

This is my go-to place for Chinese food! We live in the Green Valley area where there is not a huge amount of choices when it comes to take out, but I love their combination chow mein! The reason they are not receiving big 5 stars from me is because of the price :-( the only down fall. One order of combo chow mein is around $12... I splurge WHEN I have the money, but it's worth it! My wait time is always super short, I don't think I've waited over 10 mins EVER and they are super friendly!

I love the food here and frequent the place. I've had Orange Chicken, Walnut Prawns, chicken fried rice, chow mein, and many other dishes and I've never been disappointed. This place is nice and it's close.

We have been here many times - and we always like it. Last weekend, however, it was so fantastic. New chef? Everyone in the family ate and ate - no leftovers! The service was great...we were there at an odd time. I do agree the prices are a bit high, but we actually talked about going back two days later it was that good. FYI - we do not know the owners nor anyone on staff.

I usually come here during my lunch breaks because they have a great lunch deal. I haven't really been disappointed by their food or service yet. I usually order Kung Pao Prawn. Yum!

Happy Garden is the best Chinese restaurant around. Its lunch meals are perfect for the busy office worker and the dinner menu is superb. Try the hot and sour soup, the szechuan chicken and the mongolian fish, they are fantastic. A great Chinese experience every time. Enjoy!!

  • Jade T.

This place is surprisingly good!! The service is absolutely great, and whether you eat in or take your food to go, the quality of the food is equally high. When take-out, they actually break off the corners of the styrofoam containers to avoid condensation build-up, therefore adding water to your food... a nice touch. At the restaurant, everything is super clean, atmosphere is nice, and the drinks are refilled constantly. Having eaten anywhere from home-cooked chinese to most places in Chinatown, SF, I have to say Happy Garden is really good: the portions are optimal and the price is fair. I've come back multiple times and if I'm in the area and am in the mood for chinese, definitely pick this restaurant over any other one. Whether you want a simple dinner for two or bring your whole family, you won't be disappointed!

Service was pretty good. They were polite and all. Pretty clean restaurant. I went one day with some friends for a late lunch on a Sunday, so it was pretty empty. Food was so-so for me. I got duck and it was mostly bones. I may try it again sometime, but definitely wouldn't be ordering duck! I think my friends were happy with their lunch specials.

We really wanted to like this place. It's not like we have many options in Cordelia... We ordered Pork Egg Rolls, Hot and Sour Soup, Szechuan Green Beans, General Chicken, and Chicken Chow Mein. None of it stood out. The best thing was the green beans, but I've had better. The egg rolls were ok, but greasy. The soup was neither hot nor sour. Both chicken dishes suffered from a general lack of flavor. Basically, none of it was flavorful, and the dishes marked spicy were not only not spicy, but not flavorful either. It was not flavorless and not bad, it was just not flavorful and good. We would have been better off buying frozen food at Safeway....

  • Katie M.

Chinese is my husband's favorite! My husband and I decided to go nearby since our favorite places are in either Martinez or Benicia. There are few Chinese restaurants around - especially in Cordelia. We got the food to go and when we came home realized all the food was very bland. The "fried" food was barely cooked. We called right away and they asked me to come back. When I took it back, the chef wanted to taste the food before he would re-make it! After disagreeing with them, they made the food again...or so we thought. We brought the food home again and everything tasted like salt. And pretty sure it was just the same food. So salty, we could barely eat the food and needed about of gallon of water. Agree with other reviews that the "spicy" food was not spicy. Nothing flavorful. Service - bad. Food - bland or salty (you take your pick) Price - about $10 a plate Will not be going back and will either drive to further away or just go to Safeway and get the frozen version. Until then, still drinking plenty of water.

I ordered the bbq pork fried rice, mongolian beef, and wor wonton soup for takeout. They said 15-20 so i showed up in 20 and food was ready. A tad on the expensive side IMO, you could get the same dishes at PF Changs for a whole lot better food and same price but whatever. Fried rice is pretty good, soup so far is good dumplings are good as is the broth. The mongolian beef is my only problem, the flavor is good decent spice but the texture of the beef leaves something to the imagination. Its just boring a little chewy, no crunch or carmelization at all. bleh. Ill eat here again but not the beef.

One of my favorite neighborhood eats! This place has a comfort to it that I rarely find with Chinese restaurants. The service with each visit gets better and better. The waiters always greet us with a smile and recognize us - if not by name then at least by our orders. What can I say, we're creatures of habit. For this particular spot, we always go with the Mongolian Beef and the Salt & Pepper Chicken. Nothing extraordinary, but I love the flavor and the fact that it doesn't look like it's been smothered in oil. The S&P Chicken isn't on their regular menu, but I love that they accommodate us every time we ask for it. (They still don't compare to what I've found in San Diego, but it still makes me happy) Their soups are some of my favorites in the area simply because the broth is always filled with great taste and no grease. The Sizzling Seafood soup ranks high on my list. Great service and reasonable prices - just what I need for a neighborhood eatery.

  • Jessica G.

I'm not picky. I just want my Chinese food. The service was...interesting... I had a goal to make the server smile at least ONCE throughout the night. Finally, after cracking many jokes, I prevailed. One star for a challenge? The food came out pretty quickly, I mean the food wasn't bad either. It was your basic, average, Chinese restaurant. And that's all I need. (Oh, but they weren't playing the Olympics. And although I may have developed a fear of curling, I'd still like it to be on your giant screen plasma.)

    (4)
  • Arend P.

Good food, service is good, and I like the fact that they have brown rice. Seems weird that every time I go, they have the cooking channel on. Get General's Chicken or the King Pao!

    (3)
  • Todd R.

Decently surprised. The food was very good, it's presentation was good and it wasn't greasy as many places are. Too bad I live over an hour away or this would be a regular stop. I agree with others that the staff need to smile a bit.

Superb, authentic Chinese cuisine! Nice atmosphere, good service and you get a ton if food for the price which makes it a great value. We're from our of town but we will be back!

Great food and fast service. I go there once a month when I'm in Fairfield. Their chicken string beans is the best.

Mixed reviews on Yelp but still checked it out anyway one day. Standard Chinese restaurant with typical lunch specials - soup, salad, entree and rice - but they have a huge variety with prices ranging from $7-9 depending on the dish. I had the General Chicken. The food is well prepared and cooked. The chicken was good but the flavor was lacking a little bit. Nothing to really wow my taste buds. The soup was pretty bomb though, I must say. Service is speedy and no one wastes any time. Asked for hot sauce and got it within 10 seconds - literally. Average, good if you're in the area for lunch.

I am very picky when it comes to Chinese food and Chinese Restaurants. This place is wonderful. There is a good selection, the food is cooked well, and you aren't limited to what I term as "Chinese Junk Food." Quick note for Lunch time: If you are coming in for lunch, and you do not want to order from the lunch menu (individual meals that come with a bowl of soup, salad) you need to state that you want a regular menu before or as you are being seated. If you want to be sure that there is no MSG in your food, just ask that they not put MSG in your food. There are some spicy foods, but you need to specify how spicy you want it to be. If you don't say you want it hot-hot, then it will be rather mild (at least to me, and I like my spicy food really spicy). My tried and true menu items: steamed rice, mustard green soup, garlic chicken, chinese broccoli, and chicken lettuce wraps. I haven't had a problem with service here--ever (this makes exception for the very busy nights and the lunch rush times where everyone seems to be wanting something at the same time and thus no one is happy).

  • Rodney F.

I'm surprised this place only has 3 stars. I usually judge a Chinese restaurant by their fried rice, and I love it here. We usually get the pepper salted prawns, sesame chicken, and the salted fish and chicken fried rice. We drive out of town for this Chinese food too!

  • cc v.

Pros: Location Good soup Cons: Walnut shrimp was way too sweet Small portions Tiny salad HUGE heap of rice, but very little food The service was "OK", until we paid our bill. Then we sat for 15 minutes talking, with no water refills, because they could care less about customers who have already paid. If you like poor service, bland / over-sweet Chinese food and being treated like a $ number instead of a person, this is the place for you.

Nice Chinese restaurant! I used to come here for the lunch specials when I worked near by. The price is good, service is good, food is good. It's pretty clean inside as well. It's not the best Chinese food in the world but in or around this area I would say it's top notch.

    Good food...Great service!

    (4)
  • Rachel L.

Overpriced. Small portions. Fancy dining area which is supposed to coax people into spending more money than they would at any other Chinese restaurant. Yup... that pretty much summarizes Happy Garden in a nutshell. I'd much rather drive the extra 8-10 minutes to Annie's Panda Garden for GOOD Chinese food. I really don't understand how they stay in business. I would never recommend this place to ANYONE!

We have been coming here for lunch and the place is Classy, I like their Tables very artistic very good for group luncheon. The food is just typical Chinese, nothing special and yes they re a bit pricey too:)

Love this place! Honey walnut prawns and the chicken & snow peas are the best and I order every time I'm here. Always fresh, always tender, cooked perfectly. Can't wait to get back again.

I tried this restaurant out along with my hubby last night since we were craving some Chinese. Normally I'm not a big fan of suburban Chinese restaurants as I am used to the standards held in San Francisco as well as the flavor. But we went ahead here anyway and asked the waiter what he might recommend to us that would be comparable to the dishes in SF. He then smiled (guessing he was delighted that people who actually knew how to use chop sticks came in and knew what Chinese food was supposed to taste like) and recommend the Mongolian Beef and the Generals Chicken. The first time I had Generals chicken was in DC (Washington DC) and they called it General Tao's Chicken on the east coast. But anyway, we went ahead and got those dishes along with some nice hot tea and steamed jasmine rice. The food came pretty quick, and I immediately dove into the Mongolian beef, though not quite as hot as I'm used to it was still pretty good and had plenty of flavor (though it did not have as much flavor as some of the ones in the city, mainly because I don't think they used MSG) which is OK with me! Anyway, as for the Generals chicken, I felt it lacked both flavor (wasn't sweet enough) and heat (barely could taste any peppers) but overall wasn't too bad at all. I'm really hoping to go back here and try out the hot and sour soup, the pot stickers and the noodle dishes. The service was very nice, our waiter very attentive, and at the end when he brought out the bill it was accompanied by 2 orange half's that were already cut out for us in a nice carved circular design with a tooth pick in the center, and 2 fortune cookies. So for the a suburb, I think we would definitely come back to try some other dishes. Also parking is easy since there is a big parking lot in the shopping center and prices aren't as cheap as in SF (in fact you almost pay double for the same dishes) but for the quality being comparable it was still pretty decent.

Used to be a big fan. Food was usually great!! One thing about restaurants...if the service turns bad, find somewhere else to eat! I called in for a to go and in the middle of ordering, he puts me on hold and proceeds to take an entire other order over the phone! Then when I asked for a simple request, he says that they are very busy so they will try. I quickly told him that I would go to one of his competitors since they were "too busy" to tend to their guests.

Ok, not the best tasting Chinese restaurant I've been to. However, I work nearby and come here often during lunch. The staff here are awesome. Their service is fast and efficient. The food is good. I like the salt and pepper ribs. Their wonton soup is very tasty. I like how they also serve brown rice.

Went for lunch. As we sat down, the server brought us two bowls of soup assuming we wanted the lunch special which I did not. We didn't even get in our chairs before the soups were plopped on the table, and the server did not even greet us. My friend's soup was lukewarm so she asked them to heat it up. They took the bowl and never returned. My friend asked a different server about the soup, and he asked her if she wanted the same kind. She replied she didn't know she had an option and was never asked by the server who took her first bowl if she wanted something different. We asked for two checks which we didn't get. The restaurant was not crowded, but I found them rude and hurried, and they certainly did not listen to our concerns at all. This was my third time, and two out of three of those visits met with the same hurried and assuming atittude. The food is average. I am done with this place.

it was my first and last time going there. i ordered the curry chicken cause i was feeling something spicy while waiting between classes (SCC!). when i got my food, which cost $7-8, i walked to my car, opened the to go box, and was ready to eat some good ol' chinese food (chinese curry?!). first off, it was too hot for me to eat for at least 10 minutes. i was waiting and whitening's waiting till the curry was warm enough to not burn my tongue. second of all, the curry wasnt spicy at all! i was highly disappointed. it was like they had some yellow sauce, threw in some pre-cut vegetables, warmed it up, threw it on top of rice, and handed me to final product. i know how they say that if you cook vegetables too long, you will get rid of the nutrients in it, but the carrots and bell peppers had more taste than the "spicy" curry. and the chicken seemed like it was cooked a few days ago! it was like, boiled chicken, with no type of seasoning or anything. they shouldnt put the Chili Icon on an item in their menue if its not even spicy. i even searched long and hard for some kind of spice, but not even a pepper was hinted. save your money n go to Burger King, their Spicy Chick'N'Crisp for a dollar is waay spicyer.

We tried this place 6 years ago when we first moved out to Cordelia and it was not good at all. Out of sheer desperation to try something different we gave them another shot. If you live out in Cordelia/Green Valley you know the struggle is real when it comes to decent food without driving into town or to Vacaville. Well, let me tell you, I don't know what was going on 6 years ago but this place is fantastic now! We had Honey Walnut Prawns that were exceptional. The prawns were cooked perfectly and were not fishy at all (a good sign they were fresh). General Chicken, really good. Egg Foo Yung, super good. Fried rice and Chow Mein, perfect. We ordered 5 entrees total and the bill came to $67. It was easily enough for dinner for two and lunch for both of us the next day. We usually go to Green Bamboo, which has always been good to us by the way. But Happy Garden totally redeemed themselves with the quality of their food tonight. Oh, and the service was good too!

  • Amanda N.

We've occasionally ate here since it opened. The servers have always been attentive to refill water and the wait is never too long for the food to arrive at your table. The menu consists of typical Chinese food fare and compared to the prices at the other nearby Chinese fusion restaurant, the prices here are very reasonable for Green Valley. The food is not bad; we always get the honey walnut prawns and Szechuan string beans. These are our "staples" in this place that never disappoint. Now about the ambience/atmosphere...I can't quite put my finger on it since the decor is far from shabby and drab, but there's just something missing. There's nothing that generates any excitement to it, in fact the place seems a bit tired and maybe that affects how I feel about the food...ok but nothing to get excited about. Perhaps the place can use a more modern feel to it and more light to brighten it up. Until then, 3.5 stars - nothing much exciting but decent Chinese food at fairly reasonable prices.

I used to love Happy Garden, but the quality of the food and the service have gone downhill drastically in the past few years, while they have raised their prices considerably. We used to go to Happy Garden about six to seven times a year and now I'll go only to pick up rice or pot stickers to go, and I always pay cash. They have a bad habit of double charging credit cards, and then not doing anything about it unless the customer calls them on it. When you do, they yell at you and say "You Lie!" even when you show them proof. They say it happens after they put in the tip (so first, they charge you $60, then they charge you $72), and the $60 charge will post to your account as a hold, and only will disappear after a few days. The second charge goes through. When I questioned the manager by phone about this the second time it happened, he said to me, "I know who you are! You are a bad tipper!" Really? How much should I tip you for handing me a bag of food over a counter? I thought 10% was a very nice tip! Now, cash only, small orders, no tip.

Came here today after hitting up some spots in American Canyon and heading home to Suisun. My parents have been to this spot many times and we all finally got to go here together. The staff is incredibly friendly and the place is very clean. We ordered war wonton soup, chow mein Hong Kong style, sesame chicken, prawns and string beans and fried rice. The food was great! I'm not a hue fan of mushrooms and a couple dishes had them, but I ended up fishing them out. The prices are good especially for groups of at least four. I definitely enjoyed my time here and will come back for more soon!

I haven't found very many Chinese restaurants around town that I like, but this place is pretty good! One day at work I had a craving for Chinese food and my coworkers suggested I go to Happy Garden. Let me just say this.. The Orange Chicken is amazing, so tangy and crunchy. Also, I would suggest the combination Chow Mein. Whenever I want soup, I get their wonton soup. I usually call ahead to order and they tell me it'll take about 10-15 minutes. THE FOOD IS ALWAYS HOT. I mean so hot, the steam burns a hole through the Styrofoam box it's in. The people on the phone and at the counter are very pleasant, and make you feel welcomed. As far as pricing, they're about average for a Chinese restaurant. You're looking to pay about $9.99 per entrée.

I've been coming here since I moved to Fairfield. This is definitely a place we can always go to as a family. To-go or dine in the food is always great! Honey Walnut Prawns are definitely my favorite. They always have great lunch deals!

I ordered over the phone and should have known better when I kindly greeted the person "Ken" and he didn't respond. He took my order and I said thank you very much, he JUST HUNG UP THE PHONE without acknowledging my manners... Picked up my order, the place was no busy at all and delt with same person Ken, he cashed me out. I asked him did he speak english, he stated yes. I informed him that I had the phone order and had used mannerable words towards him and that he hung up on me. I questioned why doesn't he smile or say thank you etc. He said,"ok ok ok". I asked again, "do you understand english"? He said yes I do. He did understand very well BECAUSE HE SPOKE IT TO ANOTHER CUSTOMER. I AM AFRICAN AMERICAN. They were not. I cant come up with no other answer except RACIST. Ken yelled to the cook in his language and smiled. I guess he "prepared my food". All I ordered was shrimp fried rice and Mongolian Chicken, I asked for mild, it was HOT. My Shrimp fried rice was mixed with OLD rice. Really, the food was not ready when I arrived. I waited 10 minutes for the cook to prepare. What is the use of a phone order. It was like they gave me scraps!!! Be careful how you treat peolple that dont look important. Blue jeans and a tee doesnt make a person. I am a professional Clinician who dresses down on my days off and it certainly did not give KEN the right to treat me like SH$T AND GIVE ME OLD FOOD. My experience was April 2, 2015. I dont care how good their food is, my hard earned money is much better appreciated elsewhere !!!

Absolutely the best Chinese food I've ever had. I've tried about 15 dishes here and love them all.

This place is crap. The food is terrible, the servers are rude, and the price isn't even that good. I lived in China and I know what real Chinese food is supposed to taste like, this is not it. Its obvious these guys don't care about their customers. I wouldn't care about the bad service if the food was decent but it wasn't. Only reason I'm not giving it one star is because I didn't get sick.

First timer, have yet to find good Chinese food in Fairfield area. Located in a nice area, Atmosphere was nice, restaurant clean and well kept but can use a little upgrading from what was in my view... HOWEVER portion sizes were fair, taste of food was kinda bland didn't really have that authentic flavor you would normally taste. Customer service needs a lot of work we had too much idol time between waiting on water to be delivered and time waiting to place our orders and we were the only other family beside another family in the entire restaurant. The food did come out fast but the temperature was not hot as if it was just prepared. While eating the waiter never NOT ONCE came to check on us to see how everything was or if we needed anything. My husband needed sweet and sour sauce and had to actually had to wait for someone surface to request some. The ONLY time the waiter was timely is when he brought the check and he made sure to check back regularly for it be paid. Please recommend delicious, authentic food in Fairfield in a decent neighborhood with good customer service.

I've tried this place a couple of times and yet to find a dish that is amazing. However they are better than a few Chinese places around here. The food is a bit less oily and tastes fresh which is a plus. Which explains the higher priced food items then other places. However there is nothing that stands out for me except maybe their Honey Walnut Prawns. When we got there to order, we were NOT acknowledged for a good 10 minutes so we sat there about ready to bolt when my BF went to the cash register and waved the to go menu around. Finally the server who was taking orders and who had been glancing at us a few times made a surprised " OH, you want to order?" . Well DUH, no we want to admire the decor (insert sarcasm). Also they left a paid to go at the register. A lady walked in and tapped her feet waiting and finally said out loud, "is this mine?" Then proceeded to open the bag and box and stick her face in it and then grabbed it and left. Ironic part is that after we paid and the lady handed our order, she made sure it was ours before we could take it and made a whole spiel about how a customer before took a huge order of food that was not theirs and that's why she had to verify. YET the lady before us, you left at the register and hoped for the best? Service needs to be worked on people and get organized.

Just passing through, visiting relatives, and we wanted to get take out for dinner... I miss good ol Cantonese food-- and this hit the spot! I was surprised that being in Fairfield, that Happy Garden actually has chow fun on the menu-- so we got that, garlic eggplant and kung pao, beef broccoli and a new favorite that i've never had-- Cherry Pork. The Cherry pork was so yummy! I wish that I could find a place in So. Cal that makes it. Basically like sweet and sour pork, but sweeter and with maraschino cherries. It has that nice red sauce on it. The garlic eggplant was delicious and cooked just perfect! Service was super fast and friendly. I would recommend this place for good comfort food...

This is the only decent Chinese restaurant in Fairfield. There's a few others but they lack ambiance. I usually have the salt and pepper shrimp (not on the lunch menu) but they will make it for you. Lemon chicken also on point. The rest of menu is typical Chinese fare. You also get egg drop soup to start off meal. Very good. The service is good. They serve wine and beer only. Give it a shot if your in the Greenvalley area. :)

Clean restaurant. Nice ambience. Food is great for the price. Food is freshly made, delivered quick, tasty, right amount of sauce on the general chicken. They even custom made it with more spice to entice my taste buds. Totally surprised why this place wasn't packed with people. This is probably my 5th visit I think to this place and every time I have been here the food is great. I live in LA and I am on an official visit. This is good Chinese food and is priced reasonable too. Great place for a quiet family dinner.

went there for lunch today and the food was great. I had the Mongolian beef with rice and a salid. Also came with soup. It came out fast and was hot and fresh. I notice some on yelp said the staff was grumpy and not to happy. Everybody there was nice and pleasant. I would go back again for sure.

I've been here a couple of times on my lunch. The food is good. Probably one of the best Chinese restaurants in fairfield. The portions sizes are good too. Took a star off because we could hear the chef/cook screaming his head off from inside of the kitchen. Not the most pleasant thing to listen to.

Lunch was amazing! Soup, salad, rice and Mongolian beef, on point!! $23 for three lunches. I highly recommend this place, fresh, and made to order.

Over priced for what you get. Nothing is really that good. The funny thing is Bab's delta diner which is a breakfast place makes better fried rice then this place.

With this being the closest Chinese restaurant to my new place, I was really wanting to like this place. Unfortunately, this place was a flop in both, the food and customer service. First impression when walking in this place was WTH! An employee was vacuuming and made eye contact with me, but no "hello" or "we will be right with you." Another employee walks out from the back, then from across the room, just stares at me. After 30 awkward seconds of staring at each other, I make a sarcastic "hello" because that staring game could have gone on forever. Seriously, the service here is atrocious! The food is no better. I ordered the sesame chicken, shrimp fried rice and honey walnut prawns for take out. The shrimp fried rice is as bland as they come. Also, the prawns were rubbery. Overcooked shrimp equals bad. The sesame chicken was too saucy. It had no crispiness left in it. The honey walnut prawns were the better of the three dishes ordered. Although crispy and hot, the honey sauce was on the bland side. I wish I could get my $36 back! My suggestion...skip Happy Garden!

Horrible...wish I had cooked at home. When you go out, you want something SPECIAL and this was faaaaar from it. The "lemon" chicken was a breaded, deep-fried breast of chicken sliced into strips and a corn starch thickened lemon sauce poured over it...no flavor and although I'm relatively certain it was chicken, maybe that was even questionable. Again....everything about it terrible....

We came on a wednesday night and ordered Shrimp fried rice, Walnut prawns, Mongolian chicken, eggrolls, and sizzling seafood rice soup 50 - 4 average eggrolls. Borderline from ranch 99. Although, yummy sauces. - Rice crispy treat soup? lol. snap crackle pop! fresh taste. recommend! - Spicy mongolian chicken! Great flavor. No need for extra sauce. - 13 prawns in my honey walnut prawns fail. haha. literally $1 a prawn :(! Man, Can't you get a 13pc chicken at KCF for 13? haha. just saying..Oh well, tasty. But I wish it had more walnut. sigh - Solid shrimp fried rice. nice and oily :) - NIce place. Wish it was happier and had lots of flowers like an actually enchanting garden. Can't complain too much.

I have been going here since 2007, had many parties at this place- until last week, I bit into a little sharp piece of plastic from my crab wonton. I was shocked and disappointed because this was my favorite Chinese restaurant in Fairfield and it nearly cut into the side of my mouth. I showed the sharp plastic to the waiter and he quickly brought out someone to apologize, saying it was the cheese packaging. Knowing we've been customers for quite a while, they just simply did not charge us for the crab wonton -and that was it. I expected better customer service than that -granted I work in the health care field and know the consequences of swallowing small foreign objects -but I wasn't going to argue for anything more. Needless to say, we'll never return. The cooks should be more watchful, God forbid someone does swallow a sharp piece of plastic in the future.

Party of 6. We were seated and 4 of the six wanted Subway instead. But we still wanted to place an order to go The guys bringing us soup and water were upset and told us rudely to order up front. Not a good first impression! The restaurant wasn't even full and it was 2pm!

Had the lemon chicken lunch special and all was good but a little costly for what You get. It would not be my fist choice should I be in the Area again.

The lunch specials are really good. They come with soup. I tried the beef with oyster sauce, it was delicious! Another favorite is the salt & pepper fish. I like to eat it with a side of vinegar. They also have Thai iced tea! Love this place!

I'm super picky with Chinese Food and this is one of the only Chinese places I ever crave for. I've never had a dish that I didn't like at this place. The combination fried rice is THE BEST hands down fried rice. The food is never too greasy and tastes authentic. The ingredients always seem fresh and everything is just so tasty. I have to agree with the portion size being a bit small for the price. But it just tastes so good that I'd still rather go here than anywhere else. As for the service, I've never had any problem. They've never been super super friendly but at the same time they've never been plain out rude. Maybe it's just a cultural thing? I'd definitely recommend this place and I'll keep coming back! Either way, this is my favorite Chinese place in the area and I'd choose this over Sticky Rice across the street any day.

The food is good, the service however sucks. The two male waiters have listening issues. They lack attention to detail. We ordered combo fried rice, with brown not white rice. When it came, it was white rice. I don't know why people are upset when calling a mistake out. The waiter said to eat it because its already made. Just shocked. Not going to continue, you be the judge. Eat here for the food, but if you want great customer service experience this is not the place.

This my one of favorite restaurants. Ive been eatting here for years, amazing food EVERY time. The BEST Hong Kong style noodles!!!!! I'm not a huge fan of honey walnut shrimp.. but I'll definately eat it if its from Happy Garden. The broccoli in the broccoli beef is alway fresh &the portions are enough for 2-3 people.

I am very critical when it comes to restaurants, especially when it comes to things like service and food quality. I am leery of trying new restaurants as I like knowing that I will have a good meal, so when I took my family out to try a new Chinese spot I was a little apprehensive of getting another sub par meal. We were seated promptly and our order was taken within just a few minutes. Our appetizers arrived quickly (Crab Meat Wontons/Sizzling Rice Soup) and I could tell that the food was very good quality. Now this is where the first opportunity presented itself, there was probably a 45 minute span between our appetizers and main course, the owner apologized and said that they were just bombarded with phone orders (it was the night of the Chinese new year) which I was fine with and appreciated him letting us know rather than just making us wait for our food. We ordered String Bean Chicken(Not on menu), Broccoli Beef, Combination Chow Fun and steamed rice. I was PLEASANTLY surprised when our dishes arrived. Being a huge fan of Asian food, I would not be exaggerating when I say that this was the BEST, Chinese food I have ever experienced, the meat was good quality, the vegetables where fresh and not frozen, and seasoned to perfection, not bland or over done. Even though it is over 20 miles from my house, I have found my new Chinese restaurant! PS The oranges they serve with the fortune cookies are FANTASTIC!

Our first time here and decided to have lunch here today with hubby and wow the food was so good and fresh!! We ordered the crab cheese wontons, steamed rice, BBQ pork chow mein, beef with asparagus and honey walnut prawns. Everything was so good. My husband loved the prawns and I so loved the chow mein and I'm usually not a fan of that stuff but this one was so good and not greasy. Service was quick which I liked. I didn't care for our waiter. He didn't seem like he cared for us not sure why but watching him with other patrons he was nice and polite with us he was just like hmmm. Oh well lucky for him we liked the food and will not let his attitude deter us from coming back to try more dishes.

Its rare that I take the time to write a review...but tue food was so great I have to spread the word. Me and my son stopped here while traveling and had the chicken and asparagus, honey walnut prawns and vegetable chow mein. It was amazing. Not overly covered in batter, the prawns were huge and perfect. The asparagus was amazing as well. I couldnt say anything bad about this place. Will come back again!!!

We went for pick-up and spent $52 for 4 items, pot stickers and white rice. The portions were not very large for the price spent and I would definitely call this place pricey for what you get. The food was average. The chicken broccoli was really good, the lemon chicken was extremely dry, and the chow mein very mushy. Would not recommend this place unless you're in the area and it's all you can find when you're craving Chinese food. My guess is that's why they sell overpriced average Chinese food in the Green Valley area, because nothing else is nearby and they can get away with it from people who don't want to drive around for better prices and better food.

Typical Chinese restaurant in a mini-mall. Westlake soup cashew chicken chicken in lettuce cups beef with broccoli chicken curry with coconut juice beef chow fun Pretty good. Scratched the itch, but you'll notice aside from the servers, there aren't any other Asians eating there... says a lot. If you want to know if a Chinese restaurant is good or not - look at who is eating there. I'm Chinese and I live in SF - and that actually does ring true.

Honestly, I think this restaurant serves the best Chinese Food around this area. The service is good, the food tastes fantastic and the price isn't too bad. Definitely try; Mongolian beef and their Crispy Chicken w/ the dipping sauce.
