Disappointed with the service and food. Went in with high expectations from the reputation of this place. If your looking to try good beers this is the place to be for the experience. Food was over priced and ok at best. Chicken was over cooked and dry, mashed potatoes were cold and bland. Service was slow and inattentive.

Beer Lovers!! Great atmosphere, good food & of course great beer! Highly recommend the BLT & Mac & Cheese both delicious. Deff recommend doing the beer toir while uou are there very informative & fun...plus you get to taste the beer afterwards & get a cool glass!! Not your typical brewry but thats what sets Stone above the others in North County. Only down side is there is NO tv for sports watching...

The Brewery itself is pretty cool you can sample as many different beers on tap as you want but be warned since its brewed here it is fresher and much stronger than normal! so my advice don't drink more than 3 beers or you'll be as drunk as a skunk! The downside is the food it is really pricy for alright food I suggest eating somewhere else before coming here unless you like paying 15$ for a normal sausage and side.

My husband and I enjoyed the tour - it is very casual - and loved the beer tasting that followed. So much so that we immediately went to the restaurant and sat at the bar so we could have another beer and a light snack. The food was delicious, service great, and lovely atmosphere.

Come here for the beer and the ambiance. The garden is truly unique, nothing else like it in North County. If you have out of town guests, this will impress them. The food has been getting a bad rep, but they're improving and trying. Service is great and the architecture and overall style is definitely something not to miss if you're in the area.

Went to Stone Brewery on a Monday night. A meatless menu? What!? They accommodated us carnivores anyway and brought out the regular menu. Asked waitress if they had a burger on the menu, a Burger and some stone beer.... Yum! What!? No "bar food" served at stone brewery. We ordered duck tacos... Just ok, the baby back ribs... Good, and a tuna or tilapia roll (cant remember what exactly) that was a let down! It had 3 pieces of fish and had pieces of melon on it to make it look like fish! Okay. Everything was just ehh. Nothing amazing. Except the beer gardens. Beautiful!! At night it's dreamy. Skip the food and drink in the beer gardens.

Still a fan. Made another visit - this time ordering all appetizers instead of dinner. Try the pretzels, you won't regret it. Also had a salad. A little pricey but for the outdoor setting, it was worth it!

Beautiful architecture, landscape! amazing beers !! great service, delicious food EXCEPT their "grilled buffalo burger". it was terrible, frozen patty that tastes horrible. IN'N OUT burger tastes hundred times better than this grilled buffalo burger, but In'N out burger is $3 and Grilled buffalo burger is around $20....

I LOVE THIS PLACE! The staff was very helpful and friendly and the food was absolutely wonderful. I had the tilapia and my fiance had the chicken schnitzel and it was amazing! I had a taste of the NY steak and that was seriously amazing with the side of potatoes. The staff lets you know what beers pair best with the food which is extremely helpful seeing that they're a brewery haha. But definitely a must if you're into good beer, good food and good vibes.

My bf and i came here at night and enjoyed a few beers and 2 entrees at the garden. I was impress with the beer but for the money for the food it was not worth it. My recommendation would be stick to the beer and if your hungry order an appatizer. The food was to bland and was not worth the money.

Zero stars. Nice looking place. Drink the beers and bounce. Poor service. Couldn't even get the check in under 15 min...Nuff said. The searching party musta got lost for my buffalo in my buffalo burger. They said the "chicken" was REAL though.

Avoid on the weekends or make a reso well in advance. Disappointed.

Three and a half stars...really? This place is amazing. They have so many different kinds of beer from breweries across the globe. Not only do they have good beer but the food here is great too. Another cool thing about this place is that you could walk throughout their garden with a cold glass of beer in your hand. I've been going here for years and will continue to do so because everything is so good and I always have a great time here.

I have gone with friends several times to Stone Brewery for both drinks and dinner. Their beers and wines are very reasonably priced and they have a great selection! I would highly recommend going for drinks as it is a beautiful brewery with lovely landscaping and architecture. On the other hand, I have always been very disappointed with their dinner menu. I have tried the arugula salad, the brisket, mac and cheese, the hummus plate and others and I would say that they all were just ok. I have always left feeling like I paid a lot of money for something that was good but not great. For the price and quality of the food I will probably never dine there again, however, I would absolutely go for drinks!

i love this place!!!!

Great beer selection. Hadnt been here for a couple years. The newest addition is the large security guards who will promptly kick your ass out for smoking off in a secluded area of the garden. Never liked this place after meeting one of the owners, he was much so the douche bag. The food is well its ok. Id rather eat some Pub comfort food and listen to some local musicians at well... the Pub down the way.

Pliney on tap!!!!! Not only does this place have the coolest vibe and great service, but they have an amazing beer selection beyond just Stone. Pliney the Elder is a rare beer to come across and I am glad we found it at Stone! We also tried a sampler flight of stone and it was pretty good too. We came on a Saturday evening and waited for about 20 minutes to get in. It is indoor/outdoor seating and the weather was just beautiful with great views and atmosphere. Would definitely come back again!

Great restaurant experience. Cool staff. Excellent Session IPA. Duck tacos are a must. I swallowed them before i got a chance to make a picture. And yes, get some IPA, their session IPA is exceptional, I repeat. Rich in flavor, light in body. Stone go to IPA

This Companys brew is starting to be the standard by which all others will be compared, at least in my book. I am a Hop fanatic and every one of Stones Brews are overflowing with them. Cant pick a fav. Get the pretzel appetizer and anyone of their awesome brews. CHEERS!!!!!!
(5)Caren L.
After many visits, I finally got to sample food at Stone Brewery. And it's just ok. Not blown away by it. Got the duck tacos, just ok even if the beans were a bit dry. Tasted the Cuban sandwich, dry and I've definitely had better elsewhere. Also had dessert and ordered the Opera, layers of almond roulade and coffee butter cream topped with a chocolate ganache and garnished with coffee flavored espresso beans. Repeat after me: coffee flavored espresso beans. That, by itself, deserves one star. OMG - yum! Their saving grace? It was a beautiful day to sit on the patio and have lunch by the pond. The Smoked Porter helped too I guess. :)

I felt like Charlie walikng into the Chocolate Factory. That being said, dont "accidently" fall in the tank . Cause ur not gonna drink yourself out, Gunter!! I FUCKING love this place!! the tour was fun and informative. And they give u free sample beer and the end of it, not 1, or 2..But 4 beers. The food was superb, not one complaint. Must have the Mushroom Pillows. To die for. The botanical gardens are great too. And the staff was very nice and attentive. Dont bother coming unless u realy appreciate a good beer. And i mean GOOD! You Are Not Worthy!
(5)Realtor Karl B.
They have a long list of draft and bottled beers to choose from... How do you choose just one? Get the sampler and pick 4 that you may like. I'm a light drinker, so the 4 I chose was enough to keep me buzzed for the next 2 hours. Maybe it was the 13%, 10%, and 7% alcohol contents that got to me. The food also didn't disappoint. We liked the potato dumplings and French Toast / Chicken. Eat outside if it's nice out - it feels very tranquil. I suggest making a reservation since it can get busy at times. This restaurant is in the middle of nowhere so parking is not a problem.
(4)Stephanie M.
There is no better place to get your craft beer fix. I just love it here, it's like mecca. And the food is phenomenal on top of everything else.
(4)Laura T.
Great urban atmosphere! Food and drinks were delicious. We had the ceviche, duck tacos and, of course, the Stone beer on tap! Would definitely recommend it to friends...
(5)James D.
This place is awesome! You can easily spend a few hours here, having lunch, drink and tour the brewery and gardens. There's a huge garden area with streams and plenty of shaded seating areas for you to hang out. It's like a winery but less snooty. The restaurant was good with great open air seating and views of the garden. When you're done, hit up the gift shop where you can buys shirts, glasses and growlers of your favorite brew for take home. Before you even think about it, no, you cannot drink from the growlers on premise. It's for take home only. If you're looking to do the tour, get there early, especially on the weekends.

This place is beautiful but is kind of out of the way of everything else. I would go there more often it was easy to get to. And the beers are so strong I can only drink one or risk getting a DUI. I think this is a good place to go for happy hour and appetizer. As for dinner, I'm always disappointed. I think they try to hard to be different and it's not always worth the stretch.

I came here with a large group on a Monday evening and had a great time. The garden is very pretty and relaxing--a perfect environment for a slow meal with a lot of conversation. The beer was excellent. The food was quite good. I sampled the Mac n' Cheese, veggie burger, five mushroom pasta, cheddar and garlic soup, and chocolate cake. The only one that was off the mark was the cheddar soup--too thick. It could have been served as a dip. And no bread served with it. Our server was friendly and handled our large party well. I will definitely come back.

The Stone bistro and gardens is a lovely (and very large) space. The high ceilings invite eyes to wander and contemplate various art fixtures. The menu isn't particularly exciting, but there's something for everyone. "Yay! I'm a fan," but only because of the excitement and novelty of eating in one of the world's top breweries. Since we were short on time, we just ordered some appetizers. The deep fried mashed potato balls were as one would expect, but the dipping sauce tasted too strongly of beer (I know, if that's possible, but yes, too bitter for a sauce with bland mashed potatoes). The fried mushroom "pillows" were piping hot and very tasty, with a more suitable sauce that didn't overwhelm. Service was friendly but too thinly spread out over such a large area, so that it was hard to get our server's attention. In the end, we just resorted to flagging down any staff member who walked by for whatever we needed.

Beautiful outdoor patio, garden, and pond. A bar inside and outside, with plenty of seating if there isn't room at the bar. Huge bottle list and a great selection of stone beer on tap. Food is expensive, so either be prepared to spend some money or eat before you come here. We've tried a few appetizers that were unique and tasty and couldn't get anywhere else, so it was worth it to splurge a little.
(5)Shannon S.
Went again had a great time again. Wow super crowded but very good service. I had the stone cheese soup and the bistro salad the hubby had the ribs and fried potato balls. We split the mushroom pockets. So good!!! Can't wait to go back again.
(5)Ryan S.
They have a tremendous selection of fine beers. I think that the food is very good as well.....I will admit it is a little pretentious for a Brewery.....duck tacos...really?... But still....it is good. Suggestion: Order the "Sawyers' Tripel" 100% of sales go to charity of a disease that brewmeister's son died from. It is a great beer and you can explain to everyone that you are not getting inappropriately drunk...you are saving lives.
(4)Don W.
Great food and especially an excellent decor. Service very prompt and friendly. One of the best places to visit for food and fun in Escondido.
(4)Holly G.
I love everything about Stone - the food, the beer, the place, the people, the events, the logo clothes . . . . OK maybe it's not for everybody, but I love Stone's eclectic menu. Finally, its a place I can find something to eat that works with my special dietary and ethical food guidelines. If I have to come up with at least one con - I have a had time to read the menus. Otherwise, I'm happy as can be to come to Stone.
(5)Greg M.
I hesitate on the 4 Star, I really want to go 3.5 but not an option... why? The beer and setting are off the charts! The food was so-so. Will return when I'm in Escondido and enjoy a few pints.
(4)Matt T.
Stone nailed it! Their beer is excellent. The facility is excellent and the food is excellent! They have an amazing beer selection. They showcase several California beers as well as their own. The Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale on tap is pretty hard to beat.Try the Buffalo Rib-eye. I've had it the last two times I've been in and its fantastic. Served up with a little chipotle butter on top! Cheddar mash on the side. It's good. Believe it! A must stop while in San Diego. One of my Favorite breweries!
(5)Tinie T.
The pretzels are yumsies! Sprinkled with delightfulness and bursting with soft, warm goodness, these carb-loaded creations are just the ticket. The gardens are truly beautiful and Stone is an amazing spot in Escondido. Went here to see a free outdoor movie too! The website said to bring lawn chairs but they had plenty of chairs set up already, so I'm glad I left my chair in the car and just brought a comfy blanket with me.
(4)Don G.
Beer, beer, and beer! They have a great variety on tap and sometimes have brews that you will only find there like chipotle pale ale. Very good! The food is tasty with lots of local and organic options to choose from. It's not the cheapest place to eat, but it sure is tasty.
(5)james c.
Great Beer! Great Service! Great Environment! Food.... overpriced and not so good. I think the food is on par with a Chile's or an Applebee's but is outrageously expensive. I have convinced my non-beer drinking wife to re-try the food at Stone four times in hopes that the previous times were a fluke. But 4 for 4 the food was just not that good for how far we had to drive, and how much we had to spend.
(2)Raz M.
they have a new chef! they've listened to the people! woo!!!!! new food much better, beer awesome as always. we're lucky to have this around us.
(4)L M.
Very nice. Beautiful grounds. The beer is great, wine good. Staff, attentive. Menu: wish they'd have more "normal" stuff especially for appetizers... it's all kinda eclectic and strange. A little pricey so we don't go that often.
(3)jaime f.
Yes I looking forward to go back to these place. The beer is the best. But I hope these time I can get a table & also a beer before I choked. By the way. I was surprise the someone is putting attention to the reviews I am glad for that
