Fast service: enjoy the MahMah fish salad...order was messed up but received a free drink for the inconvenience for the food preparation lady messing things up not reading the order..smh!

I got left over fish chunks in my fish taco. This place has gone down hill over the last year since everyone left. Not very satisfied!

I try not to review fast food places or chain restaurants (What's there to really rate or review?) and I'll obviously make the exception. My go-to fast food place. I'm seriously happy with it. I like everything I've tried on the menu. They're really fast and I've never been unsatisfied with Rubio's food. I frequent Rubio's a lot since I don't eat land meat of any kind (no beef, pork, or poultry). This place is always clean, food is fresh, service is friendly, and it's fast. When I've had a long 10 hour workday and I don't feel like cooking or driving far, this is where I come to eat. YAY Rubio's for making me a happy girl when needed :)

This place use to be good. However, recently their food quality has gone down the drain and their portion sides are super small. Their prices are really high.

EVERYTIME I go in to grab a bite to eat, the service here is wonderful! The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean, and the manager Jose is awesome! This is my favorite taco Tuesday spot!
(5)
Alex P.
Staff is mediocre at best... And the fish tacos here are like sardines... Smallest fish taco I've ever had... I had more tortilla and cabbage in my mouth than fish... I'll stick to the Rubios in Lakewood, amazing staff and fish tacos worthy of my stomach...

This place can be so amazing at first, it's like love at first taste but sooner or later you end up getting sick, a few days ago I had a lobster burrito and shared a shrimp salad and I've been sick ever since. I have no plans on going back, if you eat their food try not to eat it as often. Their food seems to have a lot of seasoning/mixture of sauces and maybe that's what gets people sick?! Idk

Great fish tacos, & burrito especial . Tasty & fresh ingredients . Salsa bar is a bonus !

Great tasting fish tacos. Friendly staff and great service. Very nice place to sit down and enjoy fresh fish tacos.

Staff is great here. Service with a smile Their burritos give me food-coma so I stick with the fish tacos. The salsa bar is always getting refilled and they have Vanilla Coke! I can't find that anywhere else Don't fax your order in though, they won't get it. Call it in

LOVE THIS PLACE! I get a craving for it often too! I always get the grilled grande bowl - my favorite! But the chicken quesadilla & burritos are good too!

We all think of rubios as fast food. Fast food is wasteful. Lots of trash created. I came here today for lunch. I was surprised and impressed that my meal was served in a ceramic bowl and when I got up for silverware, they had steel instead of plastic. Thank you rubios for not being wasteful. Cynthia was awesome and the food was good.
(5)
Jaelynn D.
Service and place is very clean. They really make sure that everything is perfect. I love getting their garlic herb shrimp with bacon and black beans on the side. They open as early as 10 am and there's a Starbucks, Jamba Juice and a Best Buy in the plaza!

For a fast-casual chain, this place is quite decent. I've been here for lunch when it gets a bit crowded, but the place has a nice, sorta-upscale vibe to it. You put in your order for Pacific Mahi Mahi or Atlantic Salmon, and they'll get it to you tastily and mighty quickly. They've also got their hall of fame roasted chipotle salsa (so good!!), and their very excellent medium salsas. The burritos are healthier than your average street burrito, still rather tasty, and you get your seafood fill for the day. All in all, probably one of the better lunch stops for Downey patrons.

I love this place great food and service Jessica is always so awesome to take my order the salsa bar is always fresh and clean I been to other rubies but this is the cleanest one I've had to come yet the lobster burrito is the second best

GRILLED SHRIMP MESQUITE BURRITOS WITH WHEAT TORTILLAS AND BLACK BEANS ARE THE BUSINESS!!!! This spot is nice and clean ... The staff is super friendly and really down to earth! I asked this chick about sumthing they had on the menu, and she straight up told me it was garbage and she doesnt know why they even had it on the menu ... So I got sumthing else she recommended ... and it was BOMBBAY!!! I typically dont like to east at fast food chains ... but this is one of my favorite pics when I have to eat fast food ...

Food was not as expected. My tortillas were served cold making my entire meal cold. Service was okay.
(2)

Horrible service. Waited 40 mins to get a Burritos Special, and when I got it it was cold. So I sent it back. It took 10mins. More. (4) employees and so many customers walking up to the counter.. waiting on their food! Ill NEVER come back to this RUBIOS again!

This place rocks the fish tacos. I ate 4 today. I love the atmosphere, set up and staff. They have the green salsa just the way I like it. I'm gonna bring my favorite friend/client there next business lunch. We will have a taco fest! !!!!

This place is great from start to finish. Super friendly employees greet and take/serve your order with so much enthusiasm it makes you eager to return. And the food is incredibly good and fresh. Only problem is that I haven't moved past the gourmet tacos plate. When I find what works for me I ride it til the wheels fall completely OFF lol
(4)
Jennifer C.
Get the Cabo plate! It comes with a (huge) shrimp burrito, their original fish taco, chips & bean dip. Its sooo good, & all for less than $10. Great alternative to the usual fast food places. Plenty of seating and parking. Don't forget to help yourself to their salsas & all the lemons/limes your heart desires!

The help made this place just ok for us . The was nothing special but ok but the help needs some training in customer service. I hope for this place they were new otherwise they need a new leader it almost made ok food bad.

Yum!! The chicken nachos are always bomb at Rubios! Service is good at this location and usually fairly quick obviously dependent on how many customers are waiting in line. So happy I live so close since these are my fave nachos!! lol

My go to spot for Taco Tuesday! Can't beat there $ 1.50 specials on Fish Tacos after 2:30pm. There salsa bar is always filled and the restaurant is very spacious with a lot of seating. Plus they have Vanilla Coke, which is one of my personal Favorites. Definitely recommend this place if your in the Downey Landing looking for a good place to eat.

Delicious food, great customer service. My chunky self always leaves happy :) Food always arrive to our table quickly and seriously it's always so delicious. A HUGE plus is the food isn't heavy like many Hispanic restaurants I've been too. Highly recommended !

extremely slow service and poor customer service. I I ordered something for to-go and when the employee places my order on the counter, I couldn't hear her well enough when she called my name so I asked if this was for me and she just walked away to the back, not even glancing at me. never coming back here again. I'll just stick to chipotle. much faster and kinder service.

Rubios has superb Tacos ,had the mango fish taco ,this is a light snack for lunch fills you up and you do not gain many calories . Also had the lemonade. They have lots of hot salsa available . The place is clean and service is fast. Next visit will have to try the Vanilla coke.

Come on, how can you not like fish tacos? I used to come here 2-3 times a month until my wife complained about my weight. We recently had a dinner party and one of her friends compared me now to a picture on our desk, 'wow you lost so much weight!' Actually my weight only changed a couple pounds. I guess I was suffering from 'fat face syndrome'. But I digress. The fish tacos here are great. Combined with the salsa and a squeeze of lime they are, as they say, 'to die for'. Plus in the last year or two they added flour tortillas to their options. I'd give it a try, since they're so fluffy and buttery. I don't know if they use butter, or lard. Don't really care. If they change the recipe it would be tragic. Another major plus to this location is the staff. The manage is really nice and pretty observant. When I was piling together salsa for my office lunch, he asked me if I needed a bag. He pulled one out and grabbed my phone-in order at the same time. I don't know why that stood out to me. Maybe I'm just easy to please. In any case, I'd come here more often but I'd don't want to suffer from FFS again( see above)

Came here for the first time on a saturday afternoon with my sister, and ordered a shrip salad and a Corona. When i tryed the salad, it was awsome it went perfect with my beer!! This place is a bit small but love the decor, and llove the outside seating, The people here were frendly. Will be back here soon.

I get the baja grill steak burrito. Delicious. The salsas are to die for... but my absolute favorite is the green tomatillo citrus one. It's funny.. I'm a foodie who is against fast food in general... but the food here tastes fresh and I am a fan.

Back again. Ordered exactly the same thing as last time. Still just as good. If you are grabbing lunch at Downey landing, this is the place to go.
(4)
Pavel M.
This is my default place for lunch. I try hard not to eat there 4 times a week (to me it's just wrong to go to the same place every day), but I still average 2-3 times. The ONLY reason I'm giving a 4 and not a 5 is because this place might get busy at lunch hour and you might have to wait in line for a 5-10 minutes, sometimes the line stretches outside. Also - since the menu change my favorite salad is now gone :( The salads they have now are not as good, so I stopped ordering them. Food is great - I usually get Mahi-Mahi tacos or burrito or Shrimp tacos or a burrito. Tried a chicken burrito once and it was also great, but still to me Shrimp would be #1 and Mahi # 2. I love, love, love their Chipotle salsa -can't get enough of it - to me - the best salsa I've ever tried, it's not too hot, which is perfect for me. Service is great, most of the people make an effort to remember your name and call you by your name. I love the outside sitting and often times than none someone comes by and offers to clear your table when you're done for you - that's good service in my book. Also - location is great, next to Starbucks and Jamba Juice. For desert - I always go with a latte or a shake.

Erick C.
It's getting a 4 because of the Tuesday Fish Taco specials... The fish taco's are still among some of the best I've had, and at $.99 they are the best fish taco's at that price. The tortilla's came nice and hot, there wasn't too much lettuce (or cabbage or whatever it is...), and it had a nice big piece of fish in it. Like all other fish taco's I've had, the sauce tends to spill, and the eating area gets a bit messy. After a squeeze of lime and their Roasted Chipotle Salsa, these tacos are great... Yeah, I said I was giving it a 4, but I also added one because of two words... Vanilla Coke... I don't like Coke (Pepsi is great...), but when you add vanilla to it, it is just godly...

When your hungry this is the place to EAT, The staff is fast at getting your food. AN A ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ place. Come on down !!!!!!!
(5)
Valerie T.
While I wouldn't call this place even remotely mexican, it is pretty good. I'm not too fond of fish tacos so I always have the chicken tacos which are great. I love the green chili sauce they put on them, with some lime and some salsa verde from the salsa bar. Everytime I've been there its been good and filling. Oooh...and did I mention they have Vanilla Coke? :)
(4)
Daniel M.
I really really like this Rubios. The place is super clean and with great music playing over the speakers PLUS the healthy (or more healthier food than other latin places) food they serve, this place is the tops!
(4)
Eric O.
I really like this spot. Not love. ... & they got beer!
(4)
Joel B.
Service is great, food is fantastic. The place is clean and the atmosphere is right. Only problem is that the seasoned fish items are way too salty. But I have noticed that this is not specific to one location. For example the blackend tilapia tacos are way too salty, but the grilled ones are very good. Every location I have tried the blackened of anything it is too salty.
(4)
Benjamin S.
The fish tacos have a very unique taste, but they are very very good. Sometimes I could do without the red sauce but to grab a quick Fish Taco to eat this place is pretty good.

I work in that shopping center. The employees and management there are wonderful! They work quickly. It's always clean. Food is great. no complaints. I recommend this location.

This is a good place to eat for quick Mexican food. I had the chicken burrito combo and I was happy! The burrito was not too dry and not too wet. They have a salsa bar for an extra zing! Good food for the money!

I eat here at least once a week. People are very nice and the place is clean! We already know the food is good.

Another ordinary day off work in my life. I have to go to Downey Landing because of course everything I need is there. Verizon, Michaels, and of course Rubios. I have been to this restaurant about twice before. It's smells, clean and fresh as soon as you walk in the door. There's a pretty little aquarium that's home to some fishes and makes for fine decor. I decide to order the Longostina Lobster tacos. My mom gets the Maji Maji (a burrito with maji maji) and my dad gets the shrimp tacos. All plates are combos and come with some nacho chips and small dish filled with frijoles (beans). There is a buffet style table filled with an assortment of salsas and toppings. The drinks are serve yourself so FREE refills. The food was done quickly and my Lobster Tacos were out of this world. Chunky pieces of lobster, lettuce, a creamy white sauce, soft flour tortillas, and all the toppings I could possibly want. Delish. The frijoles on the other hand left much to be desired so that's why this isn't a 5 star. I would definitely come back... come to think of it lunch break is in a hour... hmmm

Ash Wednesday and you think you're going to get super fresh tacos...came to get my fish tacos .... I know it's not real authentic Baja style Mexican fish tacos but they're usually good except for today .... My tortilla was so cold that once you bent the tortilla it would break... Very disappointed

Rubio's is good ! Burrito bowl. Clean. Great staff and fast service. Always super cold Inside. Fresh salsa my favorite.

So let's do this, I must say that I'm extremely disappointed with rubios now. My wife ordered the especial burrito which she said it was ok but that the addition of lettuce in it was not that good. I ordered two steak tacos because in the past, the tacos have always been good and full of meat. Today, my tacos were not as full of meat as before and to top it off, once I received the tacos , I had to return them to get them heated up because they were cold. When they returned my tacos, one side of each taco was warm while the other side was still cold. Since I was hungry I just went ahead and ate them and not even bothered trying to return them, didn't want to get upset so I just let it be. Also, I ordered a kids meal for my beautiful daughter, the burrito was ok but what bothered me a bit more was that her dessert(a churro) was harder than a jolly rancher hard candy. Not sure what's wrong with this place, but i don't c myself coming back here again. So disappointed!!!

Desiree G.
I love this place! It's close to home! The service is always so kind and attentive! The foods always fresh and delicious. It's one of my favorite quick, easy and still healthy food fixes in Downey!

First time coming here and i was satisfied! I got a shrimp burrito that was really good and had enough shrimp It came with chips and i liked the green salsa Reminds me of chipotle or pollo loco but kind of better since you have the choice of seafood I would come here again! For sure

The best thing they have going for them are their fish tacos and salsa bar. Compared to local family owned Mexican joints in the surrounding area Rubio's is a dollar or two more pricey. Way back in the day, Taco Tuesdays at Rubio's meant 99 cent tacos. Some time in the last 10 years they've increased the price and now it's currently $1.50 and only after 2:30 PM on Tuesdays. That's inflation for you. But the afternoon window is strict. It's called "Taco Tuesday" not "Taco Tuesday Afternoon" for a reason. Their shrimp burrito is okay. Quesadilla is good but how can anyone mess up a quesadilla. Fish tacos are good. They have a salsa bar which I appreciate anywhere and anytime. Living close to this location, I'd have thought I'd be here more but the truth is that I hardly come here. It was good when I was younger but since then I've found places for better Baja and Mexican style food.
(2)
Brian K.
Service is still quite good, but lately the fish tacos have been at least a little bit to quite a bit soggy, and the quality of the food in general seems to have gone down. A manager forgot to give me a drink with my combo two times in a row, and in the seating area outside, the tables weren't cleaned off very well and I found ants and even a fly at my table and the tables around me. The food is still pretty good, but it's non consistently so right now, and I feel like this Rubio's was better in terms of food quality and cleanliness in the past. I would've rated this spot 4 to 5 stars in the past, but I feel like it's not as good lately. I will update this review if things improve. For the premium price I pay for Rubios food, I just expect better.

Nice staff and great chipotle citrus salad with blackened mahi mahi. Right next door to Starbucks and Cold Stone so leave room for coffee and dessert!

WowWwW. I had never been to a Rubio's before. Considering that is my Ex's last name, I didn't think it would be that great. I tried it for the first time in December with my mom when I was searching for a flame boiler in downey landing. Turns out there is no flame broiler there, so I decided to try Rubio's. Walking in, it looked kind of surfy/seafood ish. I wasn't greeted, but the manager came to the cashier and just said hi. I was looking at the menu and he was just waiting there looking like "hurry up." In disregard to that though, i decided to order a chicken burrito and my mom got 2 chicken tacos. After ordering my service was great! They bring you the food to your table and you can serve your own salsa and get free nacho chips. IT IS SOOO GOOOODD. I remember telling my mom "it is a mix of Chipotle and Pollo Loco". The only thing I noticed is there is no one checking up outside on the tables, so a lot of them remain dirty with a bunch of people coming in/out and the numbers from the previous orders are left there.
(3)
Nikki T.
Just like every restaurant in Downey God forbid you're African American and although you ordered first people of Mexican descent get their food first. WOW discrimination from the Latinos too.
(1)
Zulema O.
Rubio's a mexican restaurant? I chuckle at the thought. Service is good, restaurant clean, but taste is below my standards. Of course this place has good reviews because most have probably never tasted good mexican food. The price point isnt what you expect for the taste of the food. Rubio's is only good for starving citizens or for someone who has disfunctional taste buds.
(2)
Bella B.
Service was kind of slow compared to other rubios considering I was the only person in store (we normally go to the one in Pico Rivera). I also felt kind of judged because I only came to claim my free taco lol. Lady serving me was friendly enough and I love the dog friendly seating area outside

Viridiana R.
All my visits here all always pleasant but the most recent visit was absolutely awesome. I had signed up a while ago to receive coupons and especial offers at rubios.com and they send me a $7 meal coupon for my birthday . So I ordered an Ancho citrus shrimp burrito (yummmmmmm) and only ended up paying like $ 0. 84 Ken took my order and he was very polite. It's always clean in there and the employees are constantly checking the salsa bar and checking in on customers to make sure they dnt need anything. Too bad I didn't get her name but an employee even came to ask me if I needed any napkins since I didn't grab any. Can't believe she noticed and cared to ask me.. love this place P.S $1.50 fish tacos on Tuesdays after 230 pm ( also yummy)

Great place to eat everything I like everything there. No complains at all. Everyone is always friendly. I like the fish tacos specially on tuesdays there only 99 cents. And there ice teas are freshly brewed everyday. Good place to hang out and have an affordable meal anytime.

I went to eat at Robio's with my boyfriend for his lunch break. He has been there before; However it was my first time. Immediately I recognized the great customer service the young man behind the counter had. The dinning area, as well as the kitchen area were clean and well organized. The food was absolutely amazing. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I order the California bowl. Which originally comes with guacamole, but I was able to get slice avocado instead. That was a plus in my book. my boyfriend got a fish burrito and he ate every bite so I know he enjoyed the food as well. The portions compared to it's price alright. I had a little leftover after I was full. And those leftovers were enjoyed layer on. I will definitely be returning to another Rubios soon. Keep up the excellent customer service everyone was great !

Came here for the first time today. Decided to try their Pan Seared Salsa Verde Shrimp tacos! The server was awesome, she was very friendly and helped me decide on what to get! The salsa bar had a variety of fresh salsas, cilantro, and lemons! I decided to try all of the salsas, yummmmmmyyyy! The tacos were great and I was satisfied, couldn't even finish the rice and beans. Prices were cheap and I will definitely come back!

OKAY. SO. If you are what you eat, then I must be made of Chicken Tortilla Soup, cause I eat that EVERYDAY. Geez, the tortilla is addicting. It's so soft, warm and bready. With the soup on the side with thin tortilla chips, huge chunks of chicken, a handful of rice and 3 big pieces of avocado with tomato and onion all swimming in a pool of soup? It's so good, I'm in heaven for the 10 minutes that it takes me to eat it. Nobody talk to me, nobody look at me, just leave me alone for 10 minutes so I can eat my way into nirvana. Try it, and its only $4.50! The fish tacos are the side dish to the Chicken Tortilla Soup.

Cynthia C.
My first time here and what I really loved was the salsa bar. I had the grilled shrimp burrito which lagged on the shrimp. I think next time I will try their tacos since that is what they're known for. It was basic to me, I've had better at real taco stands. This was a little too commercial for my taste.

I place a phone order and the person on the phone said that the food would be ready in 10 minutes. We got there in 10 minutes and paid for our food. We had to wait an additional 25 minutes to get our food. The store was not too busy at the time and the staff saw us waiting there and never said anything. They knew that we were waiting for our food and that we were obviously waiting for a long time. After waiting the 20 minutes we took our receipts to the cashier and asked about our food. The cashier replied, "Well did you guys already pay for your food"? Of course we paid for our food, how else would we have gotten the receipt? We told him that we called in the order 30 minutes prior and he just said let me check on that. He then said that they were making the food right then. So we sat back down and then the guy comes and gives us our order. No apologies or anything...just a "here you go!". We took our food back to work and when we sat down to eat everything was COLD. The cheese was already hard because it was so cold. Absolute terrible service.

Freshness and quality are always top notch. This place may be famous for their fish taco, but unless you get the gourmet tacos, you don't know what you're missing. Here's a tip, if you find yourself craving that game day guacamole like at your buddies tailgates, simply substitute the sour cream for guacamole and ask for some fresca. Add lime and salt and mix it all up. This is great to dip or add to any burrito. Always ask for pinto beans instead of the black beans in your burrito. No sour cream. It's a better combination. Steak, chicken or anything else is always fresh no matter what location you visit. Locations are always clean. The salsa bar is always topped off fresh and always clean. There is no strong salsa and vinegar smell like at many of the ordinary salsa bars at non chain Mexican taco places. Have a beer and pretend you are in safe ol' Mexico. But really in the safety of the states.
(5)
Raul R.
This place is great and here's why: Food- top notch quality. For a chain restaurant it offers some of the best food. Their gourmet shrimp tacos are delicious and they have a full and varied salsa bar. Environment- very clean restaurant. Music is at the right volume and temperature is always comfortable. Service- very friendly and engaging employees work here which always makes my visits feel welcoming. I come here 3-4 times a month because of their service!

Went to the Downey Landing Rubios so ya know the parking is tough although I managed to score a spot right in front of it. Service is quick, food is WONDERFUL but the prices are high. Definitely will go back..

When someone says Rubio's, I automatically think- FISH TACOS. This Rubio's has great service, a clean environment, and delicious food. 99 cent tacos on Tuesday is a steal ! Other food I would recommend: Salmon Burrito/Tacos, and Original Fish Taco Burrito. They also have Vanilla Coke here which is awesome ! Lol

Its my first time here, to any Rubio's, and this store def set the bar HIGH!! Customer service was outstanding(my cashier was Kat) food came out fast and was absolutely delicious. Will be back for sure!

I love rubios! It isnt true Mexican food but I like their fish and chicken tacos as well as there burritos! They have tasty salsa and I like that they have chilly available for the ppl that like extra spice. Always clean and always friendly. This is a place I miss and wish they had some in Austin and Houston!

I have absolutely never had a problem with this Rubio's (or any other Rubio's for that matter). It's efficiently run. You can tell the staff works really well as a team. The cashiers are always very friendly and have smiles on their faces. The salsa bar is delicious. I've always loved the roasted chipotle but am now a recent convert to the mild red salsa. Mouth-watering! I also love Rubio's cuz it's the most vegetarian-friendly of all the Downey Landing take out places. The bean and cheese burrito is great and also pretty inexpensive. So's the Grilled Veggie Bowl. It's not on the menu (shh...it's a secret!) but it's fantastic. Another good veggie dish is to get the nachos with no meat. As for the salads, I haven't tried them. And the grilled veggie burritos is only so so. The bathrooms are ok. Usually pretty clean, but sometimes the floor is dirty. Same goes for the outside and inside eating areas. We've also done catering from this location and only have the best of compliments for them. The food is always fresh and hot when it's picked up. They package the food so it's ready to serve right away. They not only provide you with all sorts of utensils and napkins in a neat box, but they give you really nice serving spoons too! They're a really nice quality, and we've kept them to reuse for parties! The only reason I don't give Rubio's a five star is because they took their cheese enchiladas off the menu. I know it's not this location's fault- it's the corporate office's fault, but it's extremely disappointing.
(4)
Evelyn V.
I'm a fish taco lover and I used to love Rubio's but lately they've been lagging it. The tacos are not like they used to and the burritos are horrible. The tortilla has a weird smell to it and they only put like 4 pieces of shrimp the size of the ones in cup of noodles and overcharge. The sauce is good but I've experienced much better tacos.
(2)
Andres R.
I try to stay away from chain restaurants, but I give this Rubio's 2 thumbs up. I usually have their New Shrimp Chipotle Salad. Mmmmm goood. Try it, you won't be disappointed. Just don't add any other flavors. Let the food surprise your taste buds. The service and establishment is clean, and always with a friendly smile, even the manager greets you. 8-)
(4)
Teresa E.
I only go there on Tuesdays for their 99 cent fish taco special. I love Ensenada style fish tacos and Rubio's are good in size & flavor. Their tortilla is fresh & big, and their salsa bar is impressive.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

(2)Sandra L.
(4)Beatriz V.
This place use to be good. However, recently their food quality has gone down the drain and their portion sides are super small. Their prices are really high.
(2)Jen L.
EVERYTIME I go in to grab a bite to eat, the service here is wonderful! The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean, and the manager Jose is awesome! This is my favorite taco Tuesday spot!
(5)Alex P.
Staff is mediocre at best... And the fish tacos here are like sardines... Smallest fish taco I've ever had... I had more tortilla and cabbage in my mouth than fish... I'll stick to the Rubios in Lakewood, amazing staff and fish tacos worthy of my stomach...
(2)Helen A.
Idk
(1)Sarah P.
Great fish tacos, & burrito especial . Tasty & fresh ingredients . Salsa bar is a bonus !
(5)Nancy M.
Great tasting fish tacos. Friendly staff and great service. Very nice place to sit down and enjoy fresh fish tacos.
(4)Cindy H.
Staff is great here. Service with a smile Their burritos give me food-coma so I stick with the fish tacos. The salsa bar is always getting refilled and they have Vanilla Coke! I can't find that anywhere else Don't fax your order in though, they won't get it. Call it in
(5)Ana R.
LOVE THIS PLACE! I get a craving for it often too! I always get the grilled grande bowl - my favorite! But the chicken quesadilla & burritos are good too!
(5)Nick A.
(5)Jaelynn D.
Service and place is very clean. They really make sure that everything is perfect. I love getting their garlic herb shrimp with bacon and black beans on the side. They open as early as 10 am and there's a Starbucks, Jamba Juice and a Best Buy in the plaza!
(5)Ravi M.
(4)Annabel F.
I love this place great food and service Jessica is always so awesome to take my order the salsa bar is always fresh and clean I been to other rubies but this is the cleanest one I've had to come yet the lobster burrito is the second best
(5)Kevin A.
(5)Rosemary G.
Food was not as expected. My tortillas were served cold making my entire meal cold. Service was okay.
(2)Crystal A.
Horrible service. Waited 40 mins to get a Burritos Special, and when I got it it was cold. So I sent it back. It took 10mins. More. (4) employees and so many customers walking up to the counter.. waiting on their food! Ill NEVER come back to this RUBIOS again!
(1)Mario G.
This place rocks the fish tacos. I ate 4 today. I love the atmosphere, set up and staff. They have the green salsa just the way I like it. I'm gonna bring my favorite friend/client there next business lunch. We will have a taco fest! !!!!
(5)Jazmine E.
I come here because of the fish tacos One of the best i ever had I am not a big fan of the whole menu though Just go for the fish tacos
(4)william d.
I love rubio's taste, quality and attention to detail. The service is also very efficient and friendly.
(5)Jay H.
(4)Jennifer C.
(5)Jack M.
The help made this place just ok for us . The was nothing special but ok but the help needs some training in customer service. I hope for this place they were new otherwise they need a new leader it almost made ok food bad.
(3)Albert P.
Yum!! The chicken nachos are always bomb at Rubios! Service is good at this location and usually fairly quick obviously dependent on how many customers are waiting in line. So happy I live so close since these are my fave nachos!! lol
(5)Sergio G.
(5)Miguel A.
I love this place this is my third trip here's it's great here try there fish tacos with chips.
(5)Kat R.
Delicious food, great customer service. My chunky self always leaves happy :) Food always arrive to our table quickly and seriously it's always so delicious. A HUGE plus is the food isn't heavy like many Hispanic restaurants I've been too. Highly recommended !
(5)Iluv M.
extremely slow service and poor customer service. I I ordered something for to-go and when the employee places my order on the counter, I couldn't hear her well enough when she called my name so I asked if this was for me and she just walked away to the back, not even glancing at me. never coming back here again. I'll just stick to chipotle. much faster and kinder service.
(1)Imran K.
Rubios has superb Tacos ,had the mango fish taco ,this is a light snack for lunch fills you up and you do not gain many calories . Also had the lemonade. They have lots of hot salsa available . The place is clean and service is fast. Next visit will have to try the Vanilla coke.
(5)Rich L.
(4)Fran T.
(4)Laura M.
I get the baja grill steak burrito. Delicious. The salsas are to die for... but my absolute favorite is the green tomatillo citrus one. It's funny.. I'm a foodie who is against fast food in general... but the food here tastes fresh and I am a fan.
(4)E H.
Back again. Ordered exactly the same thing as last time. Still just as good. If you are grabbing lunch at Downey landing, this is the place to go.
(4)Pavel M.
(4)Erick C.
(5)terry b.
When your hungry this is the place to EAT, The staff is fast at getting your food. AN A ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ place. Come on down !!!!!!!
(5)Valerie T.
(4)Daniel M.
I really really like this Rubios. The place is super clean and with great music playing over the speakers PLUS the healthy (or more healthier food than other latin places) food they serve, this place is the tops!
(4)Eric O.
I really like this spot. Not love. ... & they got beer!
(4)Joel B.
(4)Benjamin S.
The fish tacos have a very unique taste, but they are very very good. Sometimes I could do without the red sauce but to grab a quick Fish Taco to eat this place is pretty good.
(4)Gabby R.
I work in that shopping center. The employees and management there are wonderful! They work quickly. It's always clean. Food is great. no complaints. I recommend this location.
(5)Margaret F.
This is a good place to eat for quick Mexican food. I had the chicken burrito combo and I was happy! The burrito was not too dry and not too wet. They have a salsa bar for an extra zing! Good food for the money!
(4)Louis A.
I eat here at least once a week. People are very nice and the place is clean! We already know the food is good.
(5)Andrea P.
I would definitely come back... come to think of it lunch break is in a hour... hmmm
(4)Yadira R.
love the chipotle ship burito!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(4)Jasmin Z.
Healthy Mexican food. MMMMMM!!!!!!
(4)Devora S.
I received the best service ever at this Rubio's! Sergio was friendly, knowledgable, and very accommodating of my dietary needs. Love the wild-caught mahi mahi burrito with veggies!
(5)Mayra D.
My family and I love it here! Never disappointing!
(5)Maria F F.
I absolutely love Rubio's! I'm here at least once a week, their food is always fresh and it's just good food! Thank you for being in Downey! Always taste fresh!!
(5)Tina T.
Ash Wednesday and you think you're going to get super fresh tacos...came to get my fish tacos .... I know it's not real authentic Baja style Mexican fish tacos but they're usually good except for today .... My tortilla was so cold that once you bent the tortilla it would break... Very disappointed
(1)Rose B.
Rubio's is good ! Burrito bowl. Clean. Great staff and fast service. Always super cold Inside. Fresh salsa my favorite.
(4)Eli C.
(2)Desiree G.
I love this place! It's close to home! The service is always so kind and attentive! The foods always fresh and delicious. It's one of my favorite quick, easy and still healthy food fixes in Downey!
(5)Harley C.
First time coming here and i was satisfied! I got a shrimp burrito that was really good and had enough shrimp It came with chips and i liked the green salsa Reminds me of chipotle or pollo loco but kind of better since you have the choice of seafood I would come here again! For sure
(5)Jessica G.
(2)Brian K.
(3)Kelly W.
Nice staff and great chipotle citrus salad with blackened mahi mahi. Right next door to Starbucks and Cold Stone so leave room for coffee and dessert!
(5)Cris A.
Steak Baja grilled borrito on wheat wrap really good miild salsa Wash it down with vitamin water (revive)
(5)Laura G.
(3)Nikki T.
Just like every restaurant in Downey God forbid you're African American and although you ordered first people of Mexican descent get their food first. WOW discrimination from the Latinos too.
(1)Zulema O.
(2)Bella B.
Service was kind of slow compared to other rubios considering I was the only person in store (we normally go to the one in Pico Rivera). I also felt kind of judged because I only came to claim my free taco lol. Lady serving me was friendly enough and I love the dog friendly seating area outside
(3)Viridiana R.
(5)Arlin C.
Great place to eat everything I like everything there. No complains at all. Everyone is always friendly. I like the fish tacos specially on tuesdays there only 99 cents. And there ice teas are freshly brewed everyday. Good place to hang out and have an affordable meal anytime.
(5)Madinah E.
(5)Gloria R.
(4)Grace C.
OKAY.
(5)Cynthia C.
My first time here and what I really loved was the salsa bar. I had the grilled shrimp burrito which lagged on the shrimp. I think next time I will try their tacos since that is what they're known for. It was basic to me, I've had better at real taco stands. This was a little too commercial for my taste.
(2)Ricardo G.
(1)Gerardo A.
(5)Raul R.
(5)Lina F.
Went to the Downey Landing Rubios so ya know the parking is tough although I managed to score a spot right in front of it. Service is quick, food is WONDERFUL but the prices are high. Definitely will go back..
(4)Brian A.
Lol
(5)Nicole P.
Its my first time here, to any Rubio's, and this store def set the bar HIGH!! Customer service was outstanding(my cashier was Kat) food came out fast and was absolutely delicious. Will be back for sure!
(5)Manpreet D.
I love rubios! It isnt true Mexican food but I like their fish and chicken tacos as well as there burritos! They have tasty salsa and I like that they have chilly available for the ppl that like extra spice. Always clean and always friendly. This is a place I miss and wish they had some in Austin and Houston!
(4)Megan S.
Delicious food and friendly service! Who could ask for more?
(5)Teresa R.

I only go there on Tuesdays for their 99 cent fish taco special. I love Ensenada style fish tacos and Rubio's are good in size & flavor. Their tortilla is fresh & big, and their salsa bar is impressive.
