I love Chipotle ! And the price is right. My son is 2 and we get him a taco for 1.50 and I get the salad bowl . Healthy and very tasty . My husband gets a burrito and is always full after. And the products are quality. I come here often. The employees are very nice and have always put out our food quickly.

Burrito bowls, in less than 10 minute drive?! I've long awaited for you guys to open somewhere closer to home Chipotle. Thanks for fulfilling those wishes, oh and give me your recipe for the corn salsa. its so damn good.

I come to this location even though the Chipotle on Sloat is a little bit closer to my house only because this location gives out better portions than the one on Sloat (if you thought the Chipotle on Westlake skimped out food, definitely do not go to the Chipotle on Sloat). I came here recently and found that their food is a bit more spicier than the other locations that I have been to (I think their chicken is a lot spicier), I wish it wasn't that spicy because other people can have it spicy with their hot salsa but I might just want it mild!

I've always been on the fence about chipotle because it's a chain restaurant and I personally like taquerias better, but my friends brought me to a Chipotle one time and I found something I liked: the burrito bowls. They're good because you don't have to get your hands dirty and I usually like the meat. However, I also like guacamole and they add almost $2 extra if you want to add it into your food. That's pretty pricey for two dollops of guac! My bowls always end up about $9, which I think is a little overpriced for what it is. In addition, the burritos always fall apart because they put way too much stuff in there or they don't know how to wrap them well. The last time I came here, the guy before us ordered a burrito. The girl wrapped it and it tore apart so she had to redo it again...... and it fell apart again. So we watched her try to fix it as best as she could but I was getting impatient because I went in for a quick meal but she was taking foreverrrrrr.

The guy who made my tacos overloaded them with ingredients. Messy to eat, but sure made it worth it. Thanks dude!

Man, Chipotle isn't that great. This is a review for my experience with the chain as a whole, with some added emphasis on the Westlake location. First time I went (sometime in the summer of 2009, I believe) I got a carne asada burrito. I knew something was up when the total came to $6.66, and my fears were realized when I had to drop one halfway up the hill walk. The bathroom was nice for a fast food joint though. If you have access to a vehicle and want decent mexican fare in the area make the drive to Los Metates, which amazingly serves above-room-temperature food. This is a universal complaint I have with the four Chipotle locations I've purchased from. I guess it's just company policy to serve lukewarm, six-bite, spherical burritos. I go in repeatedly with the foolish notion that hey, maybe last time was just a fluke and they actually serve good food and that's why they have a line. Shame on me. I hope other repeat customers share the sentiment.

Food is not very good - tacos were so soggy with fat and water that they were not worth finishing. Return again? No way!

  • Mahmoud A.

Maaaaaaaaan.... They used to be better nowadays they'll never have your rice cooked as it's supposed to be! I feel like I'm eating raw white rice! New workers are super cheap with the amount they put in your burrito makes me feel like they Finna pay out of their pockets! They never know how to roll it like they used to! Nowadays they're week and noobies! Oh my how much I miss the OGs who used to work here before!

    (3)
  • Lisa T.

UGH. One word. Stingy. My $7 dollar burrito bowl had a half scoop of rice, a couple pieces of steak, and a whole bunch of other toppings I dumped in to make up for the lack of rice and meat. I much rather prefer other Chipotle locations where the workers actually give a good amount of food for a decent meal.

Morning/lunch crews are better than the closers. I'm addicted to chipotle.. So bad x((

If there was any way for me to give a "0" star, this place would be it!!! I agree with most reviewers... no line but horrible service and FOOD!!! Oh god awful FOOD!!! This is the worst Chipotle I've ever been to. The chicken was cold and the bell peppers/onion were way too salty. Like many reviewers, the rice was UNDERCOOKED. How can you fuck up on making rice and simple cooking skills like grilling some damn vegetables?! This place can and will! Customer service here is nonexistent because the workers here hate their jobs. They sigh when you get in line and when they ask for your order as though you are making their lives living hell. AVOID this place!!!

The food is delicious (though the quality of the guacamole in particular varies on who makes each batch) but every time I eat here -- LITERALLY EVERY TIME -- no matter what I eat, I get debilitating stomach pains. they last for hours and I just lay on the floor and whine until they go away. no idea what causes it, but that's why I won't be eating any more chipotle ever again.

  • Nina M.

Chipotle in general is for me a hit or miss situation. Sometimes the food be it burrito or bowl is amazing other times the tortilla is hard the bowl is freezing cold. Either way Chipotle is my go to place when im sick. the people who work there seem to always be new and not the nicest people.

  • Kylie L.

I came here for dinner, it was my very first time to Chipotle. I've preferred other taquerias that aren't attached to Mickey D's (just found out they're no longer attached to the Golden Arch fast food chain) and aren't a chain. Interior looked cool. The line was long (almost to the door). I saw on the wall that you can order online, maybe I'll do that next time. There were 2 of us, so we got 2 braised carnitas (pork) burrito bowls. It had salsa, cilantro (lots of it), lettuce, cheese, sour cream, corn, rice, beans...the bowls weren't very big for the amount of food in it, it was hard to stir. It was good, but not as WOWWWW as I expected. Felt a little too healthy to me. I hear you get more when you order-in rather than to-go. Remember to eat-in, you'll get more. You know what?!?!?! I actually prefer Taco Bell's taco salad bowls, now those ARE GOOD. I don't know if they still have it though...

How does a company invest millions into making great tasting Americanized Mexican burritos yet can't seem to make their tortillas fit the food and the foil to fully cover that bulging tortilla? Or is it that the employees don't know how to properly wrap it? It seems to always fall out the bottom. Ask for a double wrap if you've experienced this before. Also, as good as their guac is, I personally can't validate $1.90 for a scoop of it. If you have a smart phone, the free chipotle app lets you order in advance and pickup in 15min.

Cleanest, nicest, tastiest chipotle I have ever been to. The workers here are the sweetest. I make sure to tip them all the time

The clerk "We ran out of cheese?" Me, "Excuse me?" You ran out of cheese?" Well ok can I get that I guess. Never has happened to me before at a chain restaurant. But what the hey things happen. "Two hard shell tacos?" I say Clerk "Oh they say. We ran out of taco shells." " What?" I say. "Taco shells?" Clerk, "Yeah we had a rush on them." I think wtf you sell tacos daily right. Of course you had a rush on tacos you are a Mexican restaurant. Instead I say. "What else are you out of?" " Sour cream". She says. Jesus! I think. Then I say," we'll I guess this is the last time I'm coming here." No reply. I guess my business isn't important. I think. I then complete my order completely different from what I wanted. The food just couldn't taste good after that. Sorry Chipotle. You lost me. Ps. Why does everything taste like lime? I'm not understanding. I used to like you.

I love chipotle, but every time I come to this one, everything is always burnt! I don't like burnt meat in my burritos, or my tortilla being hard.

craving for some mexican foods? come over here.. great place with lots of parking spots around.. usually its full most especially busy hours but fast and efficient service.. clean compare to other chipotle.. the good thing bout this is you dont want to drink any of their drinks, just walk around outside you got different choices.. its not too far away from my place thank god.. always on the go..

Got food an hour and a half before closing. It was the very last of everything, when she was done the trays were completely empty, so they skimped on everything as well. The food was cold and the rice was hard. We called and spoke with the manager Melissa she was nice and offered to replace our order. The next day I went in to get my food it was obvious they didn't want to make it. Then as I'm about to leave she tells me she has to charge for the drinks....it was clearly BS she just didn't want to replace them out of spite. Two stars because if you get there when it's busy the food is good and it's in a convenient location. If you have a problem or come close to closing DO NOT expect good customer service or good food.

    (2)
  • Cidney T.

After reading the other reviews I'm a bit skeptical but since I haven't experienced anything bad myself...yet, I'll take my chances. Living in the area, this location is convenient for me since most authentic Mexican places are out of the way. Let me just say that I'm a huge Chipotle fan. I've had pleasant experiences with the staff here so that's never been an issue. However, the portions are a hit or miss, mostly a miss.

You can get very full (burrito, soda, chips/salsa) for less than $10 after tax. The carnitas burrito was so good (added everything, yeah that's the way to go, but left the salsa to the side to add while eating), I'm returning just for it, irregardless of service or atmosphere; service is fast-food style - to get you to order and pay within the least amount of time; atmosphere is kind of cold due to metal tables (easy to clean?) and the bare concrete floors. Still, the menu is simple, and 95% of customers were fit and/or thin - which means it's an oxymoronic...healthy fast-food. Easy to find/get to since it's in the Westlake Shopping Center off of John Daly Blvd., off of 280. Plenty of parking of course. Can order online for pickup. Bonus review since went to a Chipotle-sponsored screening of "Food, Inc." The movie is about America's farmland's food production industry; how farmers are contracted with their livelihood dependent to only four major corporations in the U.S. At the same time, it showed the conditions of most farms and livestocks, where animals are seen as "foods" rather than animals. Also, the movie showed how our American society grew to depend on fast food.

I'm writing this because of the poor choice the employee had. Apparently he is impaired with hearing.. he didn't hear when I said I wanted cheese on my tacos, and then when it happened with my boyfriend too, he was like "let me know ahead of time." Seriously, worst service ever. How are you going to tell someone when they DID tell you. Instead of assuming, be the better person and suck it up... it's your job! Ugh, whatever. I don't think we'll be going to this Chipotle anymore. Instead to the one in Colma.

Chicken burrito bowl with mild salsa, lettuce cheese and sour cream. forget that bullshit copy cat dish that taco bell's trying to implement now. At least the food at chipotle is fresh. just sucks how they add onto your price with the basic expected condiments. Not exactly pricy but when you're on a budget, it can be a bitch at times. Drinks selection sucks, menu items are small but at least they can be somewhat filling. Not as fattening as the nations' burgers next door. Parking is easy, but the seats inside aren't exactly comfortable besides the booth. No TV inside so it can get pretty boring or bland inside. If i had to pick, i'm probably going to burgermiester first if i had a hungry tummy, but this would be a second place look if i were at westlake again.

Love LOVE their salad bowls! Quesadillas are so good too! Burritos?...ehhh I'd rather have that at a authentic mexican restuarant, other than that, their salad bowls are a must here!

  • Laura H.

Honestly, this is the best place for food. I'm so surprised at all the bad reviews. I've only had good service here, the people are super nice. Plus, the food is amazing. Who cares if it's not "authentic"? It's a new adaptation of Mexican food, and it's damn good! Plus, it's a lot healthier than regular Mex. If you're looking for authentic, goopy, cheesy, melty, warm Mexican food, don't go here. Doesn't mean it's not the best though :)

First off, there's is something about Daly City that makes every citizen a crabby, mean, rude. hate-my-life individual. Maybe it's the crappy weather. Whatever the case may be, I purposely avoid going to this location because of how rude and lifeless the girls are. The culprit this week is Gabriela. She never once smiled at me and was lifeless the whole time. Almost like a drone. She was just slopping my sour cream and guac down. It was not a fun experience to be served by her. I almost wanted to ask her, "Do you hate your life? (I always assume that the answer would be an unenthusiastic yes) Well, why are you punishing me?" As for the food, not impressed. Everything is spicy and cold because it's been sitting there and it's not fresh. The ingredients are not hot enough to stay warm and by the time I get it home, I have to reheat it in the microwave. Not worth the $16 I pay for 2 burritos. You'll be much better off going to freebirds or making your own burritos as home. It's healthier for you and you won't have to deal with anyone's shitty attitude but your own. Sometimes I go just for the guac. Now I don't how to with this handy recipe: Chipotle Guacamole Ingredients 2 cloves garlic, pushed through a press, or finely minced with salt 1 1/2 limes, juiced 1 cup cilantro leaves, chopped 1/2 small red onion, finely diced 2 medium plum tomatoes, finely chopped 5 pickled jalapeños, minced 7 avocados 1 tsp salt (to taste) tsp cayenne pepper In a medium mixing bowl, combine the garlic, the juice of 1 lime, cilantro, red onion, tomatoes, and jalapenos. Stir to combine. Wait to add the avocado until (at most) an hour or so before serving. Halve the avocados, and with a large kitchen knife, remove the pit by wedging your knife into it and twisting. Reserve 4 pits. Take a large spoon and separate the avocado from its skin. You should have two large halves of clean, skinless avocado. If you have a masher, add the avocados to the bowl and mash together with the other ingredients. If not, roughly chop half of the avocado and add it to the bowl. With the second half, roughly chop again. With the back of your knife, smash the pieces of avocado against the cutting board until it becomes a coarse mush. This will be a little messy, but the result will be a great texture, smooth but not overly pureed. Using your knife, scrape all the avocado mush from the cutting board and add to the bowl. Mix together using a fork, and mix with additional large chunks of avocado until you obtain your desired consistency. Squeeze the remaining half a lime over the top and submerge the four pits just below the surface of the mixture. Cover tightly in plastic wrap. This should prevent the guacamole from browning for at least an hour or two before serving. Before serving, remove the pits, mix together, and taste for seasoning.

Customer service was great and food was great until I found a ladybug in my burrito bowl. It was too late to complain to them since I ordered to go.

Ate there today for the first time, It was pretty good :) It was pretty empty in there when I went, so there wasn`t a line and I just ended up ordering along with what they had. I ordered a chicken burrito and I will say that it was really good. The burrito I ate tasted very Americanized, not really authentic like I thought it was going to be, but overall still a pretty good burrito. No complaints, the service was good too, kind of rushed, but it`s okay.

The very first time I tried Chipotle was in Stockton. I went to visit my sister and we went to Chipotle for dinner. It was awesome! I was so excited to go home and bring my boyfriend to try. -_- it was crap! I told the first lady what we wanted and had to repeat myself 2x. I ordered a chicken bowl and a steak burrito. She literally gave me a handful of rice. ARE YOU EFFIN KIDDING ME?? I had to ask her for more rice. Then she got all attitude with me. Ok...moving down the line to complete my order, I had to tell each person what my order was. Um...couldn't they just tell each other? On top of that, I had to keep repeating myself because they weren't paying attention. Fail.

I love Chipotle...just not THIS Chipotle. Been here three times and all three times it's been a mess. Out of many items on the food line, inattentive staff, undercooked rice, out of order soda fountain, empty hot sauce bottles. And no sense of urgency to fix anything. Every other Chipotle that I have been to across the country has been great. But this will be my last visit to this one. The manager last time blamed the problems on having new staff that weren't properly trained yet, but I think the real problem is a management team that doesn't see the glaring problems right in front of them.

  • Caralisa L.

The only drawback here is the online ordering. As with other Chipotles, the lines here can balloon during the lunch and dinner hours, so I try to avoid getting stuck in them and order online. But 2 out of the 3 times I've ordered online, my food wasn't ready and they only started making it after I went up to the cashier for pick-up at the designated time, and the process ended up taking longer than if I had just walked-in and ordered the old-fashioned way...so the whole point of ordering online is lost here. I doubt they pay attention to their online orders, and they usually only check them when prompted by a customer in person. Other than that, this is your run-of-the-mill neighborhood Chipotle, with all the familiar ingredients.

This evening was my first time to visit the Westlake Chipotle shop. Now, my favorite. I just love the atmosphere and professional services of the staff, especially Stefan and Love, who were so pleasant, big beautiful smiles and very patient. You can just see how they like serving their customers and proud of their food. I was happy to leave a generous tip but was equally awed when I was told by the beautiful lady-cashier of Stefan & Love's gift. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness. Also props to the cashier (my apologies for not asking your name). You made our day!!!

The restaurant was clean and service was pleasant. The line was roughly a dozen people long. +1 star for staff and facilities. I had the Barbacoa bowl. It was very tender and had good flavor. +1 star for that. The problem here is the quality of the rice. What the other reviews say about the rice is true. Steamed rice shouldn't crunch... I couldn't help but wonder, don't they taste their own food here? You'd think that someone on staff would point out the rice to management (who should be taste checking this stuff anyway) and they'd see that they have a problem with the rice... OR the management's preference in rice texture. This isn't just firm rice, this is not-cooked-in-the-middle-crunch-with-nasty-chalkiness rice... Is rice a big deal? Yep. When you're buying something like a rice bowl that's more than half rice. I will not be returning to this location.

I think I've waited long enough to write this but since they always put me in a good mood, nows the time! Out of all the locations I've been to locally, this one tops the rest. Never stingy on meat portions or portions in general and the staff is always in a great mood. I like knowing that for the price I pay, I get that fat chode of a burrito (not the staff's fault, the tortilla isn't big enough lol) . Oh and one last thing, their food line is always clean and stocked for the most part. Big plus. Cheers to this location !

This guy tried to skimp on my rice and meat, the lady in front of me got 2 heaping spoons. He gave me 1/4 of a spoon. I was angry and had to ask for more. Haters get hate. I love chipotle but not this location.

Went here for the first time & ordered a chicken burrito ! It was alright for what it was. Kinda expensive , but wanted to see what all the hype was about. Lol. Also it's dirty here. Previous people's garbage was left on tables , etc. but yeah. Three stars for that. Also friendly staff !

worst customer service ive ever recieved at a chipotle. cant believe i paid so much for a half full burrito bowl. was not offered drinks or chips and my food was immediately put into a bag. i was never asked for here or to go.. i asked for my food here once i saw it in the bag. my request was ignored. employees are not polite. I've never been treated so poorly as a customer at any other chipotle location. i definetely won't be a return customer here. it sounds silly i know, but ive worked in customer service and the food industry for 8 years and would never provide mediocre service.

AWFUL - avoid! I love Chipotle but this location is terrible. While the food is very standard - all Chipotles seem to use the exact same corporate recipes - this location is AWFUL. Please avoid it! Though we were there late on a Saturday evening, the place wasn't busy and the customer service was terrible. The cashier didn't even acknowledge us standing there for several minutes and once she finally did, she just rang us up, took our money and went on.... no hello, or how are you or any pleasantries. Their bathrooms were trashed and disgusting. Their dining room looked like it hadn't been bussed all day - trash everywhere on the floor, dishes left on tables and the outside patio was disgusting with food and napkins strewn everywhere. Will not go here again.

[M]ona: 3.5 Stars [W]ayne: 4 Stars Average: 3.75 Stars + Accepts Credit Cards + Not Expensive + Huge Burritos + Parking Lot - Small Menu but Simple - Dirty Tables [W] When this place originally opened, I walked in, saw how small their menu was and walked out. I guess a lot have changed or maybe not, I'm not too sure since I don't come in this restaurant until recently. After trying this place out, I'm happily surprised that this place isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Yes their menu is still "small" per say but in a good way. Chipotle has their menu set up whereas you can order your food in a taco, burrito, or salad style. When you order your food, it's very systematic here and I guess that's what makes this place so efficient. They have around 3-5 people working behind the counter; a cook, 2 people to prep your food and the cashier. I guess you can say it's like Mexican food cafeteria style heh. I noticed an interesting thing about this place and its that they do not use your typical yellow Mexican rice BUT they use white rice with chives. When I first saw that it looked kind of unappetizing but it ended up pretty good. Another nice thing about this place is that you can have sweet corn and lettuce in your burrito. The sweet corn is extremely good so the next time we go there, I'll most likely be asking for extra corn on my order. This place didn't charge us for the "extras" so I assume you can ask for as much as your like. Again my suggestions for to get is extra sour cream, corn and lettuce. Maybe that's just me but it makes the burrito taste that much better. In the end, my meal ended up to be like a "SUPER GINORMOUS BURRITO" haha. [ yelp.com/biz_photos/KWvF… [ yelp.com/biz_photos/KWvF… The prices weren't bad neither where most of the food on the menu was around $6-$8. And again if you really can't eat that much food, I recommend to get the food in a salad/dish which was what I noticed that most of the females were getting. Parking here shouldn't be an issue since it's in the Westlake shopping center. You can't miss this place if you're driving down John Daly Blvd because it's right there next to Nations Burgers. Try this place out and you can be surprised on how good it can be! 3.75 Stars!

In the past this was the worst Chipotle store in the bay area. I have to update my review since they've improved a lot since my last revision in early 2009. The male manager who often cut corners on food quality is gone (hurray!), replaced by a female manager who is more friendly and efficient. Now u can often see a person with a clipboard who regularly checks that staff are using fresh ingredients. The food is more consistent now, better quality, no more occasional brown guacamole or over-salted meats. On a recent visit I ordered a chicken bowl media1.px.yelpcdn.com/bp… with corn salsa and some lettuce, and a steak burrito media1.px.yelpcdn.com/bp… with with corn salsa also. media1.px.yelpcdn.com/bp… It was as good as the picture shows. Fresh ingredients with lean and tasty meats. I'm not going to compare this place to a Mexican Taqueria, it is what it is. Inexpensive Mexican fast food, quick service, decent tasty food, nice modern space with plenty of seating and FREE parking. Not bad at all.

  • Bernard D.

Food is good, but they are super stingy on the meat. I asked for a little bit more steak for my STEAK burrito, but was told that would be extra. I declined on principle. I will only go to this location if I am really craving a burrito and I can't make it to Gordos.

This is most definitely the WORST Chipotle I've ever been to. Three times. The first time I went everything was fine except the Guacamole that I paid $1.90 extra for was absolutely terrible! I forgave that incident immediately thinking they were just having a bad day. The next time I went the line was going extremely slow and the chicken was not all the way done. Today, the third and last time I go there, was completely chaotic! I was told that I would have to wait 10 minutes for the chicken. Those 10 minutes turned into 20 only to see that another customer complained about some really terrible rice and that I would have to wait 25 minutes for that. I ended up taking the brown rice to go with the chicken to go because I was now late and when I ate it I come to find out that the brown rice is really hard and the chicken that I had to wait for was terrible! Don't go here. There's plenty of BETTER places to eat in Westlake. This chipotle is a waste of time and money.

While I did have one bad experience here with my mom, it wasn't with any of the staff but with a crazy racist patron--but I'm not holding the staff responsible at all. You may think I'm crazy for giving this place such a high rating, but 4 stars= I'm a fan, and indeed I am. Surprising of all the Chipotle locations I've been too, this one has probably been the less stingy with portions. With the two locations in Santa Cruz I normally frequent, I've become accustomed to automatically asking for "extra rice" or "a little more meat" or "extra corn", so when I came here it was just a habit. Pleasantly they obliged without a gripe, but even after i asked for "extra ____", the finished bowl was huge! Definitely my go-to Chipotle while I'm back home, with easy parking and easy access!

This place has gone down hill! It's not cheap and you don't get much for your $ I would not give any stars. Palo Alto is way better. Guacamole it super salty they must have a smoker seasoning it.

Chipotle is a test of willpower, a test I manage to fail upon every visit. Really, is it necessary for me to devour my entire burrito in one sitting? Is there, like, some law against saving half for the next day? Apparently, according to my eyes, yes. My tummy screams no, but inevitably gives in. And guess who pays for it later? Ugh! Originally a fan of Chipotle's Steak burrito, it wasn't long before I converted to Barbacoa and have now become so indecisive, I've resorted to ordering half and half. And I can't get enough of that corn salsa. Yum. Service here is hit or miss. The first time I visited this location, I was blown away by how friendly all the employees were. I was greeted upon walking in, my burrito stuffer made small talk...I felt like I was in a Gap (haha)! Since that initial visit, the service has definitely gone downhill and then slightly back up to plateau at just average. Oh well. Guess that first impression was enough to get me hooked!

This Chipotle is my go-to destination for the location and the decent portions. The line however, can be compared to the line at the Chipotle's in the financial district of SF. Extremely long and obscenely slow. The portions are good, depending on the person who helps you. Some are super generous while others are stingy beyond belief. Customer service is a hit or miss. Some are nice & some are rude. I guess it's my fault when I ask for extra rice because you give me half a scoop. I may look tiny but this girl can eat! I did however have a pleasant experience last time I came in for lunch when the manager/head cook guy gave me a free drink. Which leads me to my next point... They always seem to never have enough food prepped or enough to be served. I've had to wait for rice, chicken, guacamole and salsa on many occasions. Food should be quick and at the ready. I mean it's a fast food restaurant, right?

I can be a happy customer.. and my proof is my former review of this very chipotle not too far back. I had to update it to show my discontent with how much they were skimping on ingredients today! I know the whole BOGO deal promo for America's Next Great Restaurant probably put some pressure on them... but if they can't handle the heat of the deal then they shouldn't do it. I always order a burrito bowl and I expect a decent scoop of rice. My use of the BOGO deal does not mean i should be receiving less food! They don't wear name tags but i almost wish they did because i find it sad that i actually had to ask for a little more rice to be added. She gave me half a scoop of their cilantro lime rice?! It was pathetic! She then proceeded to add a little more but it still didn't match up to what would be a good normal scoop. I've been to several different Chipotles in california and this was horrible. They're usually very generous with portions but not this one! Hope the downtown locations are better..

I am a Chipotle fan. No, I don't claim it's authentic or anything special, but for some reason, I am always up for Chipotle. The one in Westlake is never too busy (at least when I go) and the people are always super helpful, generous with portions, and fast. Not sure when other people reviewing are going, but I've never had a bad experience. So glad they started offering brown rice. As far as fast food, can't go wrong here.

I had never been before and totally forgot about this location. The one in Colma is actually closer for me, but that parking lot looks like a headache, oh and just wait until that Starbucks Drive Thru comes, it will be even worse. So anyhow the BOGO brought me in and I like it. Small and simple menu. They only charge you extra for guacamole. Oh yeah and chips and salsa are another charge too, but anything else you want to add in your burrito, taco, salad, bowl are free. Got the steak burrito and I'm impressed. It was clean, everything was fresh and not all mushed together. Sure it can't beat the taste of a taqueria burrito, but it was still good to me.

My friends and I decided to eat at Chipotle after getting off of school and work. Service is a tad bit mediocre. The first woman that helped us seemed like a hard worker. She wasn't very customer forward, with what sounded like a demanding tone when it came to asking if we wanted take out/dine in and white/brown rice. The second woman was nicer. Third woman, even nicer. Cashier was super happy. The service progressively got better as my vegitarian bowl was being built. The food was delicious. As always. And it's healthy. And delicious. Health-nuts (and non-health-nuts) should definitely go to Chipotle.

I like the burrito bowls at Chipotle, which is the only reason for why I even go to this place. This location, according to my dad, is the best out of the few in the area. I've came here twice and both times I've felt rushed by the servers when placing my order. They also skimp a bit on some of the stuff. Ask for double sour cream and cheese and they will grant it.. makes the bowl THAT much better. You can also request more corn and lettuce too.. might as well take advantage of what you can get for the price.

First time at Chipotle. I ordered a quesadilla not knowing it was a large so I paid $5.35, $5 too much if you asked me. They melt the cheese first, open it back up and dump in a measly 10 pieces of meat. No lettuce, no rice, no tomatoes, na-da. UNLESS you want to pay about $2 for guacamole. And the meat? Tender? No. Jerky feeling? Yes. Sauce? Yes. Spicy? Yes. The steak reminds me of dog food from a can. Bring your own avocado.

Taste like any other chipotle. The chicken tasted kinda burnt. But I'm surprised the portions are SMALLER compared to other placeS. Not gonna come back. One scoop and rice and one scoop of meat. Wth

I know Chipotle is not real Mexican food but I like it anyway. Actually I'm just addicted to the honey-chipotle salad dressing. Its got a nice kick to it and I love it not only on the salad but the chips as well. This location can be pretty slow and the quality of the ingredients can be poor, but the staff is always cool with giving me several extra dressings to take home which always makes me happy. peace, love, and good booze ~ chase

It's good, simple, and convenient. However, it was super annoying how I asked for very little sour cream and received a heaping, watery amount. And their steak is mostly fat that you have to chew 236257 times before you can swallow it like a normal bite of food. Their guacamole is excellent, though very pricey. And their chips could taste better if kept warm. Their other ingredients, like the corn, salsa, and rice were fresh and not lacking on taste though. I'm definitely going to come back for a black bean veggie burrito of some sort, and hopefully get better results than this first time.

For a Chipotle, this is one of the best I've been too (and don't get me started about how much I love me some Chipotle. I don't care if it's "authentic" it's flippin' delicious!) Generous with the scooping of all ingredients, even the guac. The girl had to use more than 2 foils to wrap it! Which she did an admirable job at doing despite how huge it was. She bothered to warn me that guac is extra (even though I'm an expert at Chipotle) but it was appreciated. The guy at the check out was fast and accurate. Gave me a bigger cup for water than the usual too. This is near where I have dance rehearsal. Me and my breakfast for tomorrow went home very happy (other than my usual guilt about a 1400+ calorie burrito)

I usually prefer to skip out on Chipotle because I feel like a lot of it is gentrified Mexican food. White cilantro lime rice? Eh... But a friend of mine who was running around at Pride got a coupon for a free burrito. So we went to go out for food. And I must say, it was pretty damn good. I got a barbacoa burrito with guac and all the fixings. Everything tasted pretty damn fresh. I would recommend getting a container of hot salsa on the side to pour on your burrito, though. It's nice being in control of the heat. What I didn't like were the red onions in the guacamole. They overpowered a lot of the flavors to the burrito. Why not just use white or yellow? It's much less offensive tasting. Service was good. Prices were quite reasonable, but they skyrocket if you get guacamole on your burrito (it's worth it). They didn't seem to have much in the way of drinks, which sucks. I'd probably end up getting a fountain drink. I might not come back any time soon, but it was pretty damn good. I bet they'd have really good veg burritos, too.

First time I had Chipotle was in LA. I was waiting forever for them to make one in SF or close to SF. Hurray! I hate how they changed their policy about the free drink if you show your student ID. no more of that. dang it. Friday night, this place was packed, we were forced to sit outside. It actually wasn't that bad because they have heat lamps to keep you warm. As soon as we saw seats inside we ran for them. The line can get long, but it moves along pretty quickly and efficiently. I always get a burrito bowl, my sister likes getting a tortilla on the side (no extra cost). I love the steak, good flavor and texture. Friend got a vegetarian bowl, they kinda skimped on the rice so we asked for more and they didn't hesitate to do so, very accommodating. Choice of black or pinto beans, then salsa, red , or green sauce, corn, cheese, guacamole (0.85 extra), lettuce. I was watching Oprah the other day and they were talking about better food choices and Chipotle was one of them. A good percentage of the meats that they use are free-range animals and the food that is used are from local farmers. I wonder how much of that is true. Everything is made fresh and never frozen. Always a good choice if you want "fast food"

How do you run out of lettuce? You're in a shopping plaza with two grocery stores... I basically ended up with a bowl with sour cream, guac, and meat (as I don't eat rice or beans). Ridiculous I paid 9 bucks for it. Service was not above and beyond.

Dude, this place SCREAMS lazy. Godspeed if they run out of an ingredient on the rail. Someone without a hairnet or hat will mosey on along to the back to get it, and will return shortly in about twenty minutes with no one to keep the line moving... not even the lady grilling in the back whose boxers inch their way our of her belt-less pants each time she bends down to, I don't know... touch a non-food surface without washing her hands? AND don't order two burrito bowls at a time if it has different stuff in it. Their attempt at efficiency will just keep you in line for twice as long. [PS - make sure the beef is cooked before you let them scoop the bloody mess into your bowl.] This is strictly from a business efficiency and food safety standpoint. Be sure to have the Department of Health on speed dial.

This is by far the most disappointing and mediocre service I have had at a chipotle. Normally I hate writing complaints because I know how it feels in the service industry because I work in it so I try to give benefit of the doubt. I have been to a good # chipotle locations but never have I had to wait 15 minutes or more for a simple quesadilla to go with just tofu/sofritas on it. This is fast food I mean I could understand if it was a restaurant but this is not. So the story was I ordered a quesadilla and the guy with a black hat this evening that I am posting this simply took my order with no response and ignored me without a word at the first second. Talk about professional. I work in retail and I know times can get busy but that type of attitude - unacceptable. There was simply no line at the time so what was that all about. Then I proceeded to checkout and 1 min turned to 3 then 5, the register clerk then saw me and went to help me check on my quesadilla and found out the grill was off the whole time! Took them forever to grill it and it took them 15 min . Not likely gonna come back unless I have to. Note to chipotle - I think this store needs more motivation and service training, need for improvement.

This location is not as bad as the one in Colma, but I do find myself frequently waiting for chicken which is always a hassle. Chipotle is basically a "fast food" type of place, so when you actually have to wait your food when you expect them to constantly replenish their supply of everything.. then I start to question what the employees are doing if they're not doing their job? Anyways, the employees are usually friendly, the store is huge, and unlike the food, the utensils are always stocked up so at least I don't have to wait for that. A-OK, Chipotle!

I've only had positive experiences going to Chipotles, except when we went to this one. We went in for a to go order only to get home and realize we have crunchy undercooked rice in our meal. We called the manager who told us we could come in and have them cook it correctly. A few days later we go back and have another god awful meal there. This time the meat was undercooked (medium rare steak) and one of us thought there was something off tasting with his chicken. After two disaster experiences here, we're just going to stay far away from this particular one.

I decided to give Chipotle another chance because I know a fro-yo shop owner who loves it (and I love his fro-yo). The food is fresh, portions are generous, it's affordable and not as processed tasting as other quick serve/fast food restaurants). However, I find that their food is extremely salty. I remember hating their rice too. I'm not a regular and I was actually confused by the set up. I asked for a chicken salad ($5.85) and they seemed to be waiting around for me to choose things. But the menu didn't say what the choices were and I'm still not sure what a salad comes with. I didn't want to pay extra either, so I didn't know what to do. They asked if I wanted rice. Rice on my salad? Huh? I wound up with beans, grilled chicken, two types of salsa (one with corn, the other looked like salsa fresca), and shredded cheese over crispy romaine lettuce. The chicken cubes were tender and infused with a strong grilled flavor. The salsas were pretty good and the jalapeno bits made it quite spicy. I liked the fresh cilantro too, must have been in the salsa with fresh tomatoes and onions.

Honestly, there are a lot of reviews of this place that aren't helpful. For the record, it isn't Chipotle's fault that you EXPECTED authentic Mexican food. Everyone and their Mother knows that it is supposed to be a healthier alternative to the authentic Mexican food that sticks to your ribs. Brief Summary -- Parking does suck -- Location is sometimes dirty -- Employees seemed fine to me -- Portion control is in effect It's very easy to mess up Mexican food. I am thankful that Chipotle is a decent and somewhat healthy alternative. I like that they opt for naturally raised meat and in general all the ingredients are very fresh. They offer salads, burritos, tacos, and burrito bowls. Now onto this location. I've been here twice and it's just OK to me. The first time I came here, the location was pretty dirty. When I came here this past weekend, there was an employee doing some major cleaning and sweeping which made me smile. I came right before a big rush and the visual employee count grew from 3 to about 7 very quickly. I'm particular about how I want my medium salsa scooped onto of my sour cream and it was a little bit of a concern that the medium salsa was a bit too watery. In my burrito bowl it made it a tad bit wetter than usual. Portions could have been a little bit better as well. The food was still pretty tasty. Everything tasted fresh. I expect to be here again since my GF started working in the area. If you read my review, please know what to expect when you go here.

I had the carnitas burrito. It's stuffed with rice and choice of beans. Also have the option of other fillings like sour cream, salsa, shredded cheese, corn, and guacamole (which is extra). When the burrito is finally rolled up, it's like 5 inches in diameter. Huge. I prefer my food hot, so after all the cold fillings are added the warm carnitas, beans, and rice, the burrito is rather lukewarm in taste.

Star: 3.5 stars! They gave us free soda b/c i asked if there were any specials for being a student--Berkeley chipotle gives free soda to students! We went there and it was about to closed, and they were generous to still serve us!

I love Chipotle. It's the best fakest Mexican restaurant you will ever experience. I'm a regular here and try to come here once a week. I always get the same thing which is the steak bowl which they give out more things than the other ones (well that's what i think). You can also get half and half on the meat but get charged for the meat that cost the most out of the two. They have a variety of things like tacos, burritos, bowls, etc. They cook everything fresh which is awesome. I always leave this place completely satisfied and worth every penny! Also, if you have an iPhone, they have a Chipotle app so you can order it on your phone and pick it up when it's ready :) CON: You get charged extra for guacamole

Ok I'm writing this review for Chipotle referring to them as part of the fast food, not a restaurant. So compared to Taco Bell and other mexican fast food places, this place is awesome! A bit pricey, but awesome! The Best Fast Food you can get =D, of course if I compared this to a mexican restaurant, they wouldn't have gotten such a high rating. Service: The people waiting to put the condiments on your item of choice are always friendly and always willing to give you a extra serving of whatever you choose. I always ask for extra sour cream and extra tomatoes. They don't give me any signs of hesitation or annoyances. Overall, very friendly people. Food: Steak - I love this meat! It's juicy and tender and not tough. It's the most spicy meat on their menu and I love spicy food! But if you don't like spicy food, I wouldn't recommend this meat for you. Chicken - Good, but I would not be able to stand eating as is. It just taste better with something surrounding it. Barbacoa (did I spell this right?) - Good, It's shredded beef but not as spicy as the steak. I would recommend this meat for the tacos. Carnitas - Also good. Shredded pork. Not one of my favorites, but still good. Rice with lime juice - It's always a hit or miss. Sometimes they put way to much lime it in or sometimes they put way too much rice in your item! But I like the taste, but I know other people aren't a big fan of it. Chips and guacamole - Chips are sometimes a little stale or too salty. But when their made just right they go great with Guacamole! Price: They are pretty expensive for i consider them a fast food restaurant. A burrito + chips + drink can easily put you close to $10 or over it. But I think it's worth it because their fast and tasty and a lot healthier than going to Taco Bell and there's no wait like at Chevy's. Overall: I love this place. It's my choice of poison when I want something fast and Mexican. I usually don't like to go to places twice in a row, but if it's Chipotle I don't mind at all!

Don't order online. Not only was our order not ready, but "because it's so close to closing [20 minutes], sometimes the computer recognizes it as being close to closing and cancels the Internet orders." Well, thanks for that explanation Chipotle. I stood at the register waiting for the long lost order to be located while two families went through the line, checked out, and made it halfway through their meals. Then I was graciously told that I could place my order now, after returning to the end of the line. So I waited for four teenagers to figure out what they wanted, then finally placed my order. I was the very last customer of the night now, and because they were running out of ingredients, filled the burritos with rice. Because Johnathan wanted me to leave a "happy customer" he gave me "comped chips and guacamole" that I didn't want... Yet charged me for the extra guacamole on the burrito. Hey, Chipotle... Your burritos suck as much as your so called customer service. And so concludes the tale of my final visit to Chipotle.

I used to love this location, but it's really gone downhill in the last few months. My wife and I usually split a burrito bowl, but we've been noticing that if the steak is super spicy it's probably been sitting in the sauce for a few days and the meat is as tough as old dried out bubble gum. The chips that they charge extra for were stale and kind of soggy with hardly any crunch. We went today and got the chicken burrito bowl and it was OK, but inconsistent. The chicken was pretty flavorless [which probably means it was fresh] I couldn't taste the lime in their cilantro lime rice. The chips were kind of stale, but not as bad as last time. The problem with them this time is one would have no taste and the next would be heavy on salt and lime. I know Chipotle isn't real mexican food, it's mexican like food. No self respecting mexican restaurant would let your burrito be made by a chinese girl and a white guy. The fact that my wife and I can split a burrito bowl and chips puts in the cheap category for us, but for bigger eaters it may seem expensive. I do think they need to work on their cooking skills or this place will be done quick style.

I love Chipotle and have gone to a lot of different locations. I lived around this area for a year and was psyched that there was a Chipotle nearby. The food is the same as other Chipotle but their rice is sometimes a little hard... It's usually too busy here. The lines are usually long. The parking is usually full since it's located in a big shopping area. I think they don't move as fast as other Chipotle places, if you're a Chipotle fan, you'd understand what I mean, that's probably why there's always a line. But despite all of that, the reason I gave them a two star is because THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO WRAP A BURRITO!!! I love burritos, authentic or Americanized and all that . This place is horrible at wrapping burritos. It ruins the whole "I'm having a burrito" experience. Everything falls out and it gets so messy to eat that after a while I only got bowls instead of burritos.

Why am I reviewing a Chipotle? Given the fact the company of Chipotle (NYSE: CMG) is at this moment in the process springing up in every corner like Starbucks was a few years back. With expansive possibilities such as drive-thrus and presently trading at around $228, the company seems to be doing well for themselves at this moment. Though some may say, they may have peaked, time will tell and what they do to move their company forward in a positive way will make the difference. Wait, why am I reviewing this Chipotle? That's right. I'm reviewing a Chipotle and this one in particular for a couple reasons: One! I enjoy the "Chipotle experience". The music that's played in all the Chipotles falls into my pallet of music taste. The interior theme as far as furniture and color schemes gives me a satisfied feeling before and after my visits. Two! Now, why pick to mention this particular one? It's because I frequent this one the most. The food is what you'd expect from a Chipotle; nothing to really describe here. What I feel makes this place better than some of the others can be defined in this one phrase. They give you more. Yup! Of all the Chipotles that I've been too, this one gives the best bang for your buck. On numerous occasions has my burrito been almost unwrappable or my bowl has been filled to the brim. For me this Chipotle is a 3 and I'm only taking off a point for one thing that annoys me is the occasional mishaps of cleanliness. All I know is that I often found someone's partial leftovers on the tables or the ground when looking for a place to sit. Besides that and the long lines I can't help, I like this one.

inconsistent with portion size. there's a few people who'll make you a decent size burrito and a few who will totally skimp on you. i don't each much but sometimes the meat/bean ratio is way off.

We walked through the doors of Chipotle not knowing what to expect. It was our first visit there. My son is very partial to rice and sometimes burritos. He didn't seem to want anything on the menu. I ordered him a kids chicken and cheese quesadilla. He wanted beef, but I was told the beef was spicey and that was a let down. But in turn the cashier gave me an extra cup for him in case he needed some water...... I thought that was very thoughtful!!! A plus!!! My parents enjoyed their burritos, but wished the chips came with the meal like we were use to from Taqueria's in San Francisco. I thought I would try something new and ordered the tacos... Added guacamole and it was on,.... I was surprosed by the taco portions that I will have to return when I'm in the Daly City area checking out a movie or something.... (They also serve Margaritas!!!)

Full burritos and happy smiles are too much to ask for this Chipotle. It's gone incredibly downhill in the last few months. Where there used to be happy employees, there's mean angry ones now. The burritos were ginormous. Which leads me to today. The lady in front of me asked for a good amount of chicken and rice since that's all she wanted. I got all excited. That's what I order! If she asks for that, I'll automatically get the same. The lady doing the tortilla and rice part would not even answer the woman and smacked the rice onto the burrito and was all "is this good enough?" Whew. But it was a nice looking burrito when it was done. I guess she was still angry and took it out on my poor burrito which looked itty bitty. Had hardly any chicken. Every bite was rice. I mean honestly, what kind of lame crap is that? It gets worse. We get to the cashier who has a matching sneer and I ask for chips and hot salsa and she's all "hot please" and they make it and we pay and she says we have to wait for the salsa. Yeah...it's sitting there. I can see it. She can see it. The lady behind me is paying for her order and she asks for a bag with a handle and seriously it was like she was asking the cashier for her first born. We are still standing there and the very nice cheese guy apologizes and hands it to me. If you hate your job, quit. There's a hundred people waiting for your job who need it. The customers are the reason you have a job so take two seconds and smile and don't give us rude looks for asking for what we are paying for.

i'm usually a huuuuge chipotle fan and it's often rare that i turn it down, but the one in westlake is just not that great! The first time i came to this one, i was already starving.. and you know how they say EVERYTHING tastes better when you're hungry... i ordered a chicken burrito and observed how they made it, as usual. Now.. I'm not sure if they guy making my burrito was just mad at his co-workers, boss or whatever, but he just threw EVERYTHING on this burrito like his life depended on it. I asked for just a small amount of hot sauce... but he plopped a fat scoop on top. THEN... i noticed that when he was wrapping my burrito.. that he didn't know how to. THERE WAS A FAT GAP WHERE THE MEAT AND EVERYTHING JUST JUST HANGING OUT! AND...!!! after he passed me and boyfriend's burrito off towards the cashier... THERE WASN'T a cashier! We literally had to wait 3 minutes just to PAY. It wasn't like they were busy or anything, i SAW people hanging around in the back, just chilling. They had no sense of urgency or respect for their customer's time commitment at all. When I got home, i unwrapped the foil to eat my burrito .. but it kept falling apart and it was soooo spicy that i swore my lips were going to burn off of my face. The only good thing was that he put so much stuff into my burrito, that i just used chips to eat from the middle. At least I got nachos out of it

The only reason I'd even want to give this place two stars is because it's convenient and I like the hot sauce. Grrr! This location's work staff completely frustrate me EVERY time I go to grab a quick dinner. Not only are they incompetent but are completely unaware of what customer service is. I can't tell you how many times during numerous visits where I wouldn't be frustrated. The amount of food is almost nonexistent, the work line is slow and sometimes they give you 10 pieces of steak and gives the next customer a scoopful & 1/2!! Sigh. I like Chipotle's food but what is wrong with the staff?

I'm astonished that this chain of fast "Mexican" food stays in business, let alone has grown to the size it is now in the past few years. Isn't Mexican food fast enough already? Did we really have to go corporate, water it down, and regulate it so it's exactly the same no matter where you go? Two huge complaints. 1. They use white rice. Really? On Mexican food. Oh, I forgot you serve "Mexican" food. 2. The guac. It might have been avacado at some point, but it's been processed and preserved since (with a crap load of lemon, for those of you who like a lemony zest in your burrito). If you want a good burrito (or tacos) go to any mom and pop taqueria you can find. Gauranteed it will be 10X better than the watered down crap they serve here.

I really like chipotle but this location is disappointing me these days. You guys are so bad at cooking rice. Don't u guys know how to cook rice? If you're a douche bag hipster and love white washed 'Mexican' food then come here, this place is a hipster hangout. Luckly, I'm not a hipster dipshit. A mid-age bald white hipster retard from Denver never actually try a real Mission style burrito, yeah I'm talking sh*t to you Steve Ells. Where the hell is the flavor in the meat oohh yeah these animals are vegan. No wonder the quality of their meat taste like ration food without seasonings. Go ahead people and embarrass yourself by riding a fix bike and drink PBR all day before entering this burrito joint. Ells called it Mexican food rolf yeah right more like gentrification. This nigga never even try a authetic Mission-style burrito.

Parking is def an issue here esp on the weekends. It's a parking lot, but it's always full and people fight one another and spit on each other's cars, and scream if you "steal" their spot one has been waiting for. Yea, sure there's a parking garage, but let's be real who wants to walk that far?! Second, there's this worker who DOES NOT like to make your order over if she messes up. A friend and I both ordered chicken burritos MMMMmm, one spicy and one mild, that's when the error came in. I asked for spicy and she assumed to do the same, "wait! I don't think my friend wants spicy" I said. The burrito maker asked my friend who confirmed and requested mild. WHOA! DID SHE ROooooollll her eyes back!!! Can we just fire this chick already?! There was another incident this time with my mom and this same employee. My mom requested for a vegetarian tacos. The person asked what kind of beans? Then had the nerve to say "Why do you needs beans when this is a vegetarian dish?!" This location has issues.

Tonight I went here to get steak tacos and a steak bowl walked away with nothing. Trying to place order they were out of steak and veggies. The server finally put together bowl, consisting of rice, steak, veggies, mild salsa, corn sourcream and cheese. As for yhe tacos I decuded to by poo ass because they were out of steak again, go to pay and the cashier puts my bowl in a bag and gives it to a girl in line infront of me along with her burrito. I put my hands in the air and walked ou hungry. Real bad service. I was HUNGRY!

For the record, I love Chipotle. Chipotle and I have a very special relationship, unfortunately, this specific Chipotle (and this one only) doesn't seem to love me back :( One word, portions. Every time I've been here (or any Chipotle I go to) I always get a burrito bowl. WHAT YOU KNOW 'BOUT THAT BURRITO BOWL?!?! Anyways, yes, is it just me or are the scooping ladles at this Chipotle just SMALLER than all the other Chipotles? Seriously, when they put rice in my bowl it barely covers the center of the bowl, it's like they're trying to feed a hamster. Recession much? Come on now... And not just the rice, everything else. Yes, I know you can ask for more without them charging extra (except meat maybe), but then I'd just look and feel like a glutton by saying "more please" every two seconds. Plus having worked fast food in the past I hated people who did that stuff so I just generally hate bugging fast food employees unless they're jerks. Tsk, tsk, but my deep love for Chipotle brings me back here every so often, but I avoid it unless I have the absolute upmost craving and I'm in the area. At the Chipotle in Union City (which is much closer to where I live), I bet I could order a burrito bowl and ask for NOTHING extra and get a bigger bowl than when I add extra everything at the one here. STEP YO GAME UP!!!

DID YOU GUYS JUST PISS SALT ALL OVER IT I FELT SO THIRSTY AND MY WIFE TOLD ME TO TELL YOU GUYS BUT I WAS BEING NICE NOT TRYING TO RUIN YOUR DAY BUT DAMNIT!!!!! ITS SOOOOOOOO SALTY!!!!!!! I hope deep down in my heart this place shuts down. People dont deserve this type of treatment..

Second or third time I've been here and, sadly, service and quality has declined. Came in the early afternoon to order three burritos, showed them what I wanted by circling the options on the menu provided in store, and they still couldn't get it right! No one was behind me and the place was not busy at all. (Next time, I'll order online or something...) First screw up: Instead of getting a BARBACOA burrito, I got a VEGETARIAN burrito without the expected guacamole and fajita vegetables. I definitely heard the two service ladies ask to confirm that I requested barbacoa! Second screw up: I wanted a carnitas burrito with PINTO beans but received a carnitas burrito with BLACK beans and absolutely no salsa! Compared to the previous two, my third order, a chicken burrito, was much larger. Rice for all three burritos were mushy and I doubt they give four ounces of meat. (By the way, I didn't eat these burritos alone.) The two ladies, however, were nice and friendly. They just need to work on their coordination.

Ahhh.. Chipotle... you will always have a place in my heart. Discovered Chipotle back in college when my hip friends took me here. And I fell in love the moment I bit into a Carnitas burrito w/ Guac + lots of dashes of the green Tabasaco (love Tabasco)! And then I thought to myself, man I really wish there was a Chipotle by my house in SF... Years later I move back, and found out Westlake Plaza opened one up, which is close by! Now on the occasion when I crave for it, I can obtain it with ease. I also get the burrito bowl sometimes when i feel bad for stuffing 800+ calories down my throat.

lots of parking everywhere. so everyone of my friends is a LOVER of this place. So i guess i owed it to chipotle to give it another chance. so i tried the burrito bowl. it was spoken of on yahoo as being the healthier choice. so here i go. BUT i added the guacamole, the cheese, and the sour cream. only the guacamole was extra for 1.80. It was great! I loved it. I actually went here 4 days in a row. I've gone when i don't know what else i want to eat. I love the sweet corn salsa. Its the difference between a regular burrito and one from chipotle. I did try another burrito itself. I'd rather have the burrito bowl. Its much larger and filling than an actual burrito.

I'm having this burrito craving and decided to comle in here for lunch. It's blocks from my place and come here when I have the chance. Though I've been to other Chipotles, this place is generous portions!

First off, let me say that Chipotle is not real Mexican food; it's Americanized and it's a chain. There is nothing authentic about this place. That being said, the food is mediocre at best. My friend wanted to grab a burrito bowl to share, so I obliged, but it was totally lacking in flavor. The only good thing is that the portion is big enough to share. Be warned, the line gets ridiculously long at dinner time. If you are craving Mexican food and want the real stuff, head over to El Farolito or La Playa Taqueria.

With all the organic ingredient hype, they forgot about SALT content. The chips were so salty that we could not eat it. We had buritto and soft taco which was a C- and did not finish half of what we ordered. They also ran out of corn tortilla. kc

I've been to this location many a times and it's really unfortunate how much the employees just don't seem to care about anything. They rush through the lines and give small portions like it's the Great Depression. I'm sorry, but I don't think vegetarian burritos cost that much to make. Also, the male cashier who rung me up tonight refused to take my change for the tab so I can get a couple bills back instead of a handful of change. I'm sorry you don't know how to balance your till. The one star is for the service. It's just sad.

So before heading home after a day out with my friend, I decided to stop by here to get something for my dad and brother. I ordered two steak burritos and apparently the person working didn't hear my corrected and only made one. When I told her I had ordered too, she pretty much RUSHED my second order which I thought was pretty rude. There was like one person behind me and barely anyone else coming in so I think it was unnecessary to rush through the order. She got a much smaller amount for the second burrito so of course I told her to go back and add some more because I'm not about to pay the same price for two burritos with one that has less stuffing than the other. Since I didn't eat any of it today, my review is based on the service. I asked my dad and brother how they like it and they both think it was huge so I guess I got my money's worth. Okay so I'm actually writing this while they're eating and my dad just stated the steak isn't as great as the other burrito I bought last time. Of course, it's different because the last time I bought him a burrito, it was from Off-the-Grid Fort Mason and it was a Korean BBQ burrito. Haha, of course there's a big difference, papa. You're lucky if the meat is fresh off the grill but usually if business is slow, the meat tends to just stay out there so... it's decent for what you pay. Just remember to always ask for your money worth.

Okay, I'm not completely dissing Chipotle. I know walking in it is not authentic, but the food is good for what it is, although the chicken is.... okay. I have to say though that I have tried to go to this Chipotle after going to the one in Walnut Creek, and I have to say the service is retarted. There are a couple of people in there that are cool, but when it gets to the point where I have to raise my voice to the girl who can't understand what I'm saying, it becomes too uncomfterable to go there. I'm hispanic, I love me some burritos, but god toyed with me and made onions an enemy to my stomache

Im currently standing in line and have been in line for over an hour. Though my family and I knew there was a long line we never imagined we'd be standing here for so long. The food is not worth the wait and the service is too slow. This place sucks.

I like that the menu is simple, the ingredients are fresh and they are fairly quick. Parking is tough at times. Popeyes, Chipotle and Starbucks customers competing for a few spaces. That parking lot is definitely not big enough most of the time.

I have a cousin who SWEARS this is the best Mexican food place EVER. But I seriously question her ability to rate Mexican food being that she lives in Las Vegas. Anyways, I had to grab a quick bite before work and I was in the area picking up alterations when I came across...Chipotle....'Hm', I thought... So this was me: ::holding parcel of food from Chipotle, proceeding to take a bite out of it...chewing...chewing...:: Me: This is NOT a burrito! So basically I ordered a friggin 'burrito', what I got was a dry tortilla with dry cilantro rice, dry chicken, and dry beans...Maybe a burrito for astronauts...Was I supposed to add water? And so.. Eek! Methinks not.

I love Chipotle and it has usually been my #1 place to go to when I can't figure out what I want to eat. Unfortunately this is the closest one that is by my place and this particular Chipotle totally sucks. Every time i go here my food is always cold. Its so irritating! I finally drew the line and stopped going to this one when I came during my lunch break at work. I was in a rush because i only had 30 min. The line was super long and finally when it was my turn to order, there was no more chicken. The girl told me it was going to be about a 5 min wait and said i could just sit down and she would tell me when it was ready. 15 minutes later i asked her if it was ready and she said in about 5 more minutes. (You said that 15 minutes ago but ok). I waited the 5 minutes and she said "oh its almost done". I was so irritated because i wasted my whole lunch break on some stupid chicken. I just told her give me the steak because i have to get back to work. Then this chick grabbed my bowl that was sitting out the same amount of time i was waiting! Hellooo but its probably cold now big dummy. I told her if she can start me a knew one and she said "oh its pretty warm back here im sure its fine". Just put some beans and rice in a new bowl, how difficult could that have been?! But im so passive so i just sighed and blew it off ha. But this is what shocked me most: as she scooped the steak onto my bowl SHE SAID "uh yeah next time you should call to see if we have chicken. The card is in the front you should take one". This may not sound like a big deal like it was to me but guys, let everything soak in. Why would i need to call a place that SHOULD have everything on their menu ready to be served to the customer to "make sure". Yeah and while im at it, let me call baskin robbins to make sure they have ice cream. Sooo stupid. And my food was still cold. If i were you guys, just make the trip to the Chipotle in Stonestown. Much nicer and they give you hellaaa guac.

I heart Chipotle quite a bit. Ask for anything with the ingredients they have, and you are golden. It is a very polished, and clean take on Mexican food, but it is still good nonetheless. I usually go for a burrito bowl (so I can eat it with a fork and not fear spilling the football shaped burrito contents onto my tie), and just ask to have a little bit of extra everything topped on it. Now I have 1+ meals. However, this is only lunchtime fare for me. Can't be caught dead here during off-hours. You will then find me in the Mission.

I really like this Chipotle. It's the first one that my boyfriend introduced to me. I usually get a steak bowl and the BF gets a chicken bowl. So one time when we got our food, and chips, they gave us this weird brown sauce. I was wondering what it was, so when we got home we decided to dip the chips in it. OOH MY GOD!!! It was so delicious. Perfectly sour with a nice smokey kick to it. My taste buds were singing. I love the freshness of the food here. The lettuce is never old and the guacamole is never brown! Really makes me wonder how that could be though... I thought avocados turn brown when exposed to oxygen for a while? Meh, I dunno. -1 star because one time I was here & there was a cop in front of me.. He got the exact same thing I did, just 3 times more meat. -_______-

Food just like any other Chipotle, I'm rating service and portions. They seem to have a line going which was really productive. I came in during lunch time and after running a half marathon in SF, I wasn't exactly a patient princess. The woman spoke softly, but after 2 or 3 times of me saying, "WHAT?!" and her repeating herself, the message got across of what kind of beans I wanted lol I got a side of avocado, and boy was it a side. I've been Chipotles before where they literally count the pieces of what they give you... not this place! I was very satisfied with my Steak Salad bowl!

Ok, I will admit, I had a friend pick up a salad for me, and I actually liked it :0) I have to give them 3 stars for the following: The salad was yummy - I got the chicken (yeah I am eating meat again booo me) and had them add in some black beans, that and extra guac (yeah it still costs an arm and a leg but it works with the salad). And also a bump on the stars because they still have my Izzy pop! Yumm.. I will say after 3 salads, they are consistant with them and I have no complaints aside the cost for the food. But in general I think a salad is about all I will order from them. Even with them putting "everything" on it, it was still pretty plain. I prefer Plutos to their way too pricey "salad". JMTC

You can tell from my reviews that I'm as big a fan of authentic, hole in wall Mexican joints as anyone else, and the snobs out there will tell you that Chipotle isn't "real" Mexican food, but who gives a frick? (pardon the language) It's yummy. It's about time the peninsula (north of Millbrae) has a Chipotle location that actually has parking. The only sad thing about it all is that all the past and recent SFSU graduates had to go through 4 years of college without a Chipotle at their disposal. It truly is a young person's world.

I ordered a chicken burrito with no rice. The burrito making girl ripped the tortilla as she sloppily tried to roll it up so she wrapped it in a second tortilla. Why would I want no rice but two tortillas?

Parking in the oft congested lot can be annoying. Good, natural (claimed) food with an option for non-tortilla meat bowls. Salsa options are all delicious. Free add-on with grilled bell pepper and onions is a plus. Note: the only non-spicy meat is the carnitas. I still think charging extra for chips and salsa is blasphemous and gives the company a bit of a "snob factor". Prices here are more expensive than other Mexican places, not a typical taqueria as this is organic/gourmet. My fave item, chicken burrito with bell pepper and onion, and guacamole, nears $10 so I don't eat here that often.

Part of the reason of why many of the people (at least that I know of) that don't like Chipotle's burritos is because they always order it with beans. Beans soak up the moisture from inside the burrito and seriously make the eating experience seem..... dry. So when I order my burrito...: Grilled chicken, cilantro-lime rice, avocado/guacamole... but likely just plain avocado (i can't quite recall), sour cream, cheese, salsa, lettuce...............nothing else, and no beans. Clean, organic, flavorful, calorificly satisfying, and NOT DRY. Granted, they could use some more skill when it comes to wrapping the burrito, instead of just... well... 'scrunching' it into a vague, horizontal cylinder-oid of a burrito shape... ...but when I'm hungry, tired from work, in a hurry to get back home, and want the very best organic burritos that I don't have to make myself, Chipotle hits the spot and is on the money. While a bit pricey, compared to other burrito places by a few tens of cents and maybe an additional dollar (not counting tip), the fact that you can see everything they're doing in the back (to make sure they're handling the meat and other ingredients properly) is an added plus for those of us who are a bit paranoid about potential misbehaving cooks. As long as they don't ever, EVER serve 'sesos', then we're good.

ive never even heard of chipotle until just a few months ago. apparently, its one of those round eyes thing. white people love chipotle. i saw some south park episode about it. white people must love chipotle alot for there to be a south park episode about it. i mentioned chipotle to some white people and they went ape shit like i told them sperry top siders are back in fashion. growing up in the place where burritos were invented as a togo option for mexican field workers in the central valley, i dont put too much credit to what white people tell me messican food should be. i mean, if juan over there bought a taqueria and had white folks making the food, that might interest me, but white people owning a chain that make white people messican food for white people... um no thanks... i was wrong. i can admit that. its not half bad. actually. i like the stuff. it is what it is. americanized mexican food. and that honey chipotle salad dressing is freaking liquid crack. i like that theres a "healthy" option for a quick easy dinner. i live up the street from here so having another option is great. i love that its fast slow food, as the ceo states. i like how the open kitchen allows you to see most everything going on back there. you almost feel like its just a small step down from "dining in". BUT what made me like this place even more was when i found out about their food with integrity shit. sure there may have been some funk with chipotle and some farmers in florida, but from what i gather, for the most part, chipotle pushes towards a susbtainable, large format chain restaurant. remember the one farmer from FOOD INC, joel from polyface farms? chipotle buys their meats from him and many others like him. not bad for an evil chain restaurant. i digress. white people owned white people messican food can be pretty good. this asian man approves.

I give this Chipotle 3 stars because their food is ok, i would have given them more if their employees were cool; but, they're not. There's a short filipino girl who works there that gets on my nerves every time i step foot in there. She's lucky there's a glass piece that separates the both of us. Really, if you're going to give a lame ass attitude to customers in the food industry, get a new job. There's thousands of people who would be better off doing your job MUCH BETTER than the attitude your providing for this company. Next time you make my burrito bowl sweetie, make it with a smile on your face.

I absolutely LOVE chipotle...anywhere else other than the Daly City location. I've been to several others in my day and this one has by far the worst service I've ever seen. I can count on one hand how many smiles Ive received in chipotle in the 20 + times I've been there since February. Most of the staff (minus one guy whos always nice and who I am assuming is a manager) acts like I am inconveniencing them by patronizing their establishment, and God forbid you come in 30 minutes before closing. Not only do you get the bad service, you get the bottom of the bucket stuff to eat. I placed an order online to pick up and they screwed it up not once- but TWICE! I had to go in there 3 times to get what I paid for! I'm sorry Chipotle people for coming in and giving you my money because clearly my simple burrito order is simply too annoying to deal with. Every single other Chipotle I've been to is friendly, fast service with really tasty food! I crave their peppers like a pregnant woman craves pickles and ice cream- Im just going to find another location to get my fix at. Taste of Food: 5 Service: 1 Portions: 5 Price: 3 (a little pricey for what it is) Cleanliness: 4.75 Quality of food: 5 The customer service just ruins it for me!

so the first time i went here i wasnt really impressed with the food&service. and i gave it another try today. today was much better than last time. the boyfriend&i went here with him having a craving for a burrito&i wanted to try something different. he ordered a burrito with carnitas, beans, corn, salsa, guac&sour cream. he got pretty full from it. i got a burrito bowl w/chicken, black beans, sour cream, cheese&salsa. it filled me up&i have half a bowl left! it is really good! the price is decent for a chain& the employees were real friendly. i just wish there was more room for ordering. the space for lines is pretty compact. ill definitely come back!

Slow service, but they were really nice about it. I prefer the downtown ones where everyone knows what they are ordering, but other than that, same as other Chipotles. And I always get the burrito-bowl b/c I only eat burritos from the mission.

I ordered a burrito, hold the rice. "Why don't you like our white rice?" "Its just feels wrong dude. I hate it." "Well, apparently we're working on something different." WHEN, sir, when!? Maybe when I decide I'm desperate enough to have one of your terrible burritos again, you'll have this magical, 'something different' rice. I really miss the Una Mas that used to occupy your current location. :(

Ugh. Not to be mean, but Chipotle makes food for people who can't handle flavor, heat and spice. This isnt real mexican food, its like hipster mexican food. The rice sucks, it has no flavor, and its dry as a desert. The food is overpriced and tasteless. And they charge way too much for guacamole, which isn't cool :( I only go here when i'm desperate for food and everything else is closed, but lucky for me, i live close to Mission St and all of its glorious, and (i think) MORE-AUTHENTIC taquerias.

Got a coupon for buy one get one free! I can see why now.. the food and service have both declined from a year ago. I remember the burritos being massive, hardcore things that don't fit in your mouth. Instead I had a cold, yes cold albeit after a 15 minute drive home (and I mean COLD as in it doesn't feel like any of the ingredients were ever hot to begin with), burrito with meager servings of everything. Seriously. I asked for no rice (white rice? in a "Mexican" restaurant? OH COME ON) because I'm not fond of cilantro so my burrito was significantly smaller. If you go to a taqueria and ask for no filler, they usually replace it with something else (more meat, more beans, more salsa, etc.) but alas, not here! Pros: corn salsa, salsa rojo, fast (though not particularly friendly) service Cons: no chips w/ meal, wtf??, poor food quality, $$$ guac, not particularly friendly service Luckily, with the coupon, two burritos w/ guac cost less than $9.

Let me preface this with saying that I am not the biggest Chipotle fan to begin with. Coming from the central valley where there are more Mexican food places than you can even try (not to mention taco trucks), when I am craving a burrito, the last think i think of is white rice with cilantro. However, I can respect that Chipootle offers a healthier alternative to Mexican style cuisine. Last night I was peer pressured into going to Chipotle for the 2 millionth time, because for some reason everyone is delusional about this restaurant, and opted for the veggie burrito. However, my FIRST bite into this (at home) yielded a silver dollar sized piece of thick plastic. Honestly when I first bit into it, I thought it was a finger of a glove, but upon further examination, realized it was a corner of a bag. It's the last straw for me. If I am looking for a healthy alternative to fast food, I'll be at Subway.

I am a big fan of the bowls and the fact you can text or fax your orders.... Oh... I love technology but not as much as Chipotle youe see... The service is always great and so are the lime chips and the pico made from the Jesus himself (Heysus) I haven't tried anything but the steak bowls with Hot Salsa but I really feel like I don't need too when I am perfectly happy with my bowls.

Now that I'm more aware of the food industry after watching Food Inc., I've started eating more organic foods and Chipotle is one of the very few fast-food restaurants who serves "food with integrity". Committing themselves to finding the best ingredients is their promise and I hope more and more restaurants follow their example. As far as the restaurant itself, the place is well-kept, the workers there are friendly and fast, and their food tasted fresh. I would not hesitate to come back to this Chipotle anytime I'm craving their signature dishes.

When I am craving a healthier meal that is filling with both meat and veggies, I usually come here. You wouldn't usually catch me eating a bowl of salad topped with steak, since I am such a meat and potatoes kind of gal, but this place is a total exception! The menu is really small and self explanitory but the quality is 2thumbs up! The steak which I usually get is really tender and seasoned well, the lime infused rice is delicious and the veggies are crispy and fresh tasting! All topped with a dolop of sour cream =) For sides, you must get the guacamole and chips. OMG! The guacamole is so chunky and the chips are just the perfect pairing. The service is okay, depending on who helps you. But, overall it is usually a pleasant experience.

Fresh ingredients, huge portions, cheap, clean, and designs on their take-out bags/receipts/cups are clever. The burritos are not greasy and I can easily share half with a friend. You're not gonna get all the crazy options you would from some joint in the mission, but its a fast food place.

Chipotle is ok. It's not real Mexican. It's fake Mexican. Sometimes, I am just kind of craving fake Mexican food. I went here for the first time and had no idea what the heck was going on. I was overwhelmed by the organization of the menu. It probably isn't that crazy of a menu, but it felt that way as I stood there desperately trying to figure out what was going to be the closest to real Mexican food. Once I let go of the idea that it was going to be real Mexican, I decided on a chicken burrito. This was the biggest burrito EVER. I looked around and no one else had a burrito quite as big as mine. The burrito was bigger than the basket they serve it in. It was like overflowing off the basket. No joke. I didn't quite know how to approach this mass of food, so I attempted to use a fork and knife and even that couldn't contain my food. So after eating about a third of the burrito, I had to just give up on it. It was too darn big. What I did eat, was pretty ok. Not the best food ever, but not the worst ever. The chicken was seasoned pretty well and the guacamole was good. For the massive burrito, a drink and a side of guacamole I paid just short of $10. I guess that's not too bad for the amount of food I got, but the taste is not worth $10. It's more like a $5 or $6 taste. All in all, I'd say I'd go back when I'm craving something fast that is less than Mexican and more than American.

I know this isnt authentic Mexican but hey what can i say? I'm a fan! I LOVE that there is the bowl option for their burritos! I LOVE the quick service! I LOVE the huge servings! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the corn -anything that has corn in it makes it a bajillion times better!

Chipotle is alright. If you craving a real burrito or real Mexican food in general, don't go here, go to a taqueria instead. I typically get their chicken bowl or chicken tacos and it's good. I don't like how they charge so much more money for guacamole because I love guacamole. Guacamole should not be an add on and neither should chips; they charge for that, too. The chips are also pretty salty.

I am overall a huge fan of chipotle. I love burritos and I know this place is as whited out as it comes but for some reason it's so damn good. I will always crave for it once in a while and I swear it's because they put crack in their sour cream. I am giving this place 5 stars because the time I came here at around 8:30pm on a wed night - near closing time, they hooked it up. They made me a burrito that was about the size of my head. I'm not kidding, It was so big that they couldn't wrap it, had to put it in a bowl and it was over flowing within the bowl. I was surprised I even ate half of it (yes I was a hunger tiger that night). I had a wonderful experience my first time here, the staff was amazingly energetic and really nice. It satisfied my craving for chipotle and I just loved it. I am comparing to other locations that i've been to of this chain where the staff seemed to hate their job, did not load up your burrito overly with everything and is sometimes just plain rude. How do you like your burrito? I like mine usually as a veggie, no beans, extra rice, mild and medium salsa, corn, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce and pile on the cheese. Sometimes I will be bad and add steak but that's rare. Not a fan of bell pepper - personal choice but I'm sure people love it.

Yay...Chipotle finally opened on this side of the Peninsula, and I'm even more happy that this new location is right in the heart of Westlake Shopping Center. So i'm all about it. Although I did not thoroughly enjoy my salad, which seemed like it was missing an important ingredient or some sort of kick to it. I will come back and have me a burrito because they were good at the Chipotle location in Foster City. I shall be back with an update!! Note: There's outdoor seating too. (umm...which would be good if there was more sun than fog in Daly City)

Please don't visit this place thinking you're going to get real Mexican food in any way. This place is the Panda Express of Mexican food. I knew what I was getting when I came here yet I still left disgusted at how this could be called Mexican food.. Bland, boring, burritos in big portions don't stand up to the price they charge or the selection you get. I understand that this is supposed to be a healthy type of Mexican food alternative (it's even set up like a Subway!) but the quality of the food is not worth it whatsoever. I don't usually give bad reviews like this but to advertise yourself as a healthy Mexican grill at the expense of all flavor and substance is ridiculous. If you're an earth-loving PETA member who drives a Prius, then, by all means - this is the spot for you. But if you actually like flavor and appreciate real Mexican food, stay away. Far, far away.

When you are craving something sorta Mexican in nature and you are not near a yummy taqueria you hit this place - yes I know chains are not the greatest, however every now and then a little chain never hurts anyone. I had just finished a job interview which fingers crossed went well (god anymore time on the unemployment tab is going to seriously suck) I was hungry as all get out so I stopped by this place - I was craving a burrito. Chipotle here I come!!! So I ordered the steak burrito - it was good and of course I spiced this biatch up...big time - so with their hot sauce I was a happy chain food camper for the day. The guac was actually good - but really $1.65 extra for it? They gave me one scoop people...I could have bought a whole avocado for that at Safeway...they need to for sure check that extra charging at the door. But overall this place gets a solid 3 start rating...great to stop at when on the go go for sure.

Chipotle is the reason why I liked Mexican food. It's not authentic or anything, but I think it's really good! The burritos are freaking huge, and really hard to eat. So I usually order the bowl now. I love the cilantro lime rice :)

It's just your average Chipotle here. The staff seems nice, but I always seem to get stuck with the burrito maker that doesn't understand how to mesh the ingredients :/ One guy there is super nice and awesome at making burritos! Outdoor seating is good too, especially on the days I wanna bring my dog out for lunch.

For some reason, I'm drawn to Chipotle like a moth to a flame. I think it's because I love Tex-Mex. Yes, yes, yes . . . guilty as charged. I have definitely been to better Tex-Mex restaurants but Chipotle is the most convenient. I hope that excuse will suffice. Anywaaaays . . . What do I like about Chipotle? They use fresh ingredients and their Barbacoa meat is to die for. Their steak is usually dry and their chicken is mediocre. Their "assembly-line" method of preparing your food is very convenient and you can personalize your meal. I have a few complaints about Chipotle. 1. The chips and salsa are NOT free. What Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurant doesn't give chips and salsa out for free? Also, the chips are encrusted with tons of salt. I do recommend that you shake the chips in the bag so some of the salt falls off. Also, be careful when you eat the chips . . . I always scan each chip before I put it in my mouth since a few chips will have so much salt it'll give you "bitter beer face." 2. When the person puts together your food, they do not equally spread out the items in your burrito. They will just plop on the salsa, sour cream, guacamole or meat so you'll end up with a mouth full of either when you're eating your burrito. Gross, right? 3. Although, Chipotle charges you for salsa and chips, I do have a weakness for both, so I end up paying the extra $2.00. What annoys me is that when the employee pours the salsa of your choice in the plastic container, 9 times out of 10, he/she would fill it only halfway. I'm not stingy or picky by any means, but geez! If I pay for salsa, shouldn't I receive the full amount? Well, I guess that's all I can say about Chipotle . . . the Mc D's of Tex-Mex.

I always say "not too much rice" trying to get a smaller burrito and they fill it with the other stuff, these are huge!

Do you LOVE burritos the size of a small baby? How about FREE sour cream and cheese? Do you like fast Mexican food, but with an American twist? If so, try Chipotle. I was a fan of Chipotle back during my college days. It was the spot to hit up pre-sorority meetings...and, 8 years later, it's still very good. The menu is very simple...pick your meat, beans, salsa, etc...the steak is good, and so is the chicken.

the quality is alright, my gripe is that the burritos are not wrapped properly, they tend to explode, and the line for food can get real long sometimes

i didn't come in expecting much because it's a chain and.. chains suck. the first time i was pleasantly surprised by the burrito bowl, the chicken was fairly tasty and the rice [as white washed as it is] is kinda good. the chips had a nice hint of lime and salt, me gusta. today i decided to grab a burrito on the way to the SFMTA since burritos are portable and easy to eat without getting hella messy... right? wrong. the burritos here are way lamer than the bowl, and really... mushy. i mean it was just beans, meat, cheese, salsa, sour cream, and rice--it's the same kind of burrito you'd get anywhere else. but for some reason, maybe it wasn't wrapped tight enough, but it was just really mushy [sorry i can't think of another way to describe it haha] and all over the place and kind of gross. i ended up saving half of it and emptying it out of the tortilla when i got home. however, the folks here are really nice and friendly. you don't see that much at chain places like this. as for the food, it's just aight. closer than el farolito, and fairly cheap still. i'll remember to go for the bowl next time.

I went here yesterday and was satisfied. I ordered the chicken burrito. -big, chicken was right, and price was good. Staff.. fast and friendly. Line.. a bit long, but dwindled quickly due to the staff that was on point with service. Food tasted great.. again the chicken was perfect. The chips.. by themselves had a hint of flavor... mixed with the fresh salsa... great!!!

my mom and her bf like to come here...i think that is because its close by and they can walk if they wanted to. I on the other hand hate this place... So you see, sometimes mom will buy a extra burrito and what not since I am a fat fat boy so I wont be hungry. Love my mama for always feeding me but I do not love chipotle, their chicken was hard and I even thought I was chewing on foil...you know the feeling when you chew on foil and it feels kind of metally and I dont know strange? Well I kind of spit it out and it was a dried up piece of chicken!!!! worse of all, the avocado is supposed to be green!!! NOT BROWN GREEN!!! boooooooooooooooo man o man!! I have such a better time at Taco Bell for crying out loud...man those chalupas are good.. I will not step into Chipotle, I would rather eat at the Irving KFC which I hate so much. At least the chicken there wont taste like foil~!!!!!

This used to be one of the better Chipotle locations to get fresh, well prepared food to go....then, there was a change in new employees preparing and serving the food in recent months and this location has gone downhill. The past 3 times I have ordered guacamole on my food (which is an extra fee), I have been very disappointed. The guacamole, which I have paid extra for, has been a "half piece of HARD avocado" which I couldn't even mash up with my stainless steel fork at home. I also order chips & guacamole, and there is another hard piece of avocado in the little serving size container (how can one dip their tortilla chips into a hard piece of un-ripened avocado?!?!) Be careful when ordering chicken with your meal because I have found the chicken to still be "pink" and uncooked on the inside (this is due to the fact that one of their "cooks" is grilling the chicken at too high of a temperature, therefore the chicken looks well done & charred on the outside, but on the inside it isn't cooked completely through). If you order their burrito, watch out for the tortilla wrap hanging over the sides of the aluminum foil while the server is scooping your ingredients onto the tortilla wrap. The aluminum foil is not large enough to accomodate for the size of the tortilla, so the outer rim of the tortilla is actually touching the dirty counter top. I used to order their burrito in the past but always had a stomach ache afterwards, and now I know why. Also, I never ask for any ingredient the server has to use their hand to grab & scoop up (i.e. cheese, lettuce) because I've noticed that the servers also use "this same serving hand" to wipe the counter top with the same dirty cloth all day long - yuck!!!!! So, if you like un-cooked chicken, tortilla burrito wrap that touches the dirty countertop, and hard, unripened avocado that they call guacamole, then continue and take your chances with your health to patronize this Chipotle. I'm going to save that hard piece of avocado in my fridge so everytime I get the urge to eat at Chipotle, I'll just open my fridge and remind myself, no, don't waste your money nor compromise my good health.

WORST CHIPOTLE EVER!!!! Bad service, skimp you on ingredients, and when they run out of the ingredients you pay for they simply just don't care saying its still frozen and not prepared for the lunch rush! Who the hell does that? Don't waste your money or time here go to the Sloat location there's a reason why that location is busy and this one is ALWAYS empty with unhappy rude employes.

Chipotle at westlake , this is one of the only chipotles that sucks !! pretty much on everything poor customer service, management at nite time on Sunday woouu understand why the rest of the employees are bad. The leadership they have sucks and quality of food is the only reason I don't continue regardless if you want complete different experience go to chipotle at colma way better !!!!!

Wow, what a waste of time and money. And here I thought I was going to get something close to mexican food. Instead, I got a nasty tortilla full of blech! The best ingredients my ass! The rice was soggy, the beans had no taste, and the meat... Who the F created the recipe. Nice try in attempting to create the Mexican flavor. No, correction,... horrible try. You have failed miserably. It's time to pack up and get this Americanized Mexican food out of here. With plenty of REAL MEXICAN FOOD along Daly City's Mission Street, and plenty more in San Francisco's Mission District. There is absolutely no need for this garbage here. I understand if you live in the east coast, or the Midwest, where the Mexican population is so small, that this trash can pass for "authentic" Mexican Food.. But here in the Bay Area, we have plenty of the real stuff. Food with real flavor and soul. I can't wait for this place to go out of business and they burn down the building. I'll be the first one pissing on the ashes. And on another note, some of the workers are a bunch of rude jerk offs. Your food sucks, and so do you. Have a nice day.

Food is fine, not the best at wrapping burritos though, but that's fine too since it's Chipotle. Anyway, I usually don't have a problem with people unless they did something to really stand out. Their cashier today just seemed really rude - loud sighing, eye-rolling, the works from this guy! He sort of seemed mad that I didn't have a nickel for him and therefore had to give me change. He then gave me "tude" because I didn't hear that he added the drink. Later on I politely ask for a cover for my bowl to take it to go and he says, "just a sec" with a really pointed tone, and rolls his eyes as he moves past me. Maybe next time I should just go behind the register and take the cover myself, just like how I did with my drink cup since he didn't hand that to me either. Weird. So to the dark-haired, black boots cashier guy, I hope you have a better day or contain that sarcastic attitude of yours please, thank you.

When I read all the reviews here, I'm really surprised. I've never had a problem with the staff or the amount of food they give me. I think it's a great little place. The food is always fresh. I'll keep going back.

The Panda Express of Mexican cuisine. I came here after my ordeal with my friends claim. The reason why we came to this restaurant was because they claim to have the freshest and healthiest ingredients. You first look at the menu and you say..........wow...........it's cheap. 5 to 6 dollars for a burrito. You really can't go wrong!!! So I ordered the chicken burrito with guac and my friend had the carnitas. Two bottled waters and chip and salsa. 21 dollars. It was good. Can't really complain and it is very clean. I would much rather have a Gordo's burrito, a pancho villa, or a El Farolito's, but I am here so this will have to do.

I usually eat here when I come to Westlake to do some shopping. There is plenty of parking. I have only tried the burritos here. The burritos are good but I wish the guacamole wasn't extra. I think the barbacoa meat is the best in the burrito. The cilantro lime rice that they put in the burrito tastes pretty good. The line can get long during the lunch and dinner hours.

I'm not kidding when I say that every 1-star review that I see on here breaks my heart just a little. Up until just now, I had no idea that people who hate Chipotle exist! Sure, they have their off days (sometimes the beans are undercooked or the rice is so salty that you give yourself hypertension), but for the most part, Chipotle is pretty much the closest thing to God that I believe I will ever experience. No, this is not authentic Mexican cuisine... so? No, it doesn't taste like anything you would find in the Mission... but you're also far less likely to contract Hepatitis from it. Yes, they charge for chips... my answer to that is that with burritos THAT BIG, you really shouldn't be eating chips too. I call it a "fat tax" -- and by financially discouraging you from overeating, they're doing you a favor, fat ass. The beans are organic and meats are naturally raised, and the company has a clear environment-friendly approach in many of their policies, for example, using napkins made of recycled paper and having special days where your meal is free if you ride your bike instead of driving. What's not to love? And then there's the guac... you know what, forget about the fight for same-sex marriage, I demand the right to be able to marry that guac! Seriously, their guacamole provides me much more happiness than any man ever could. It is life-changing. Trust me, Chipotle's guac proves that you can in fact buy happiness, and it only costs $1.65 extra (or free for awesome vegetarians like me).

Okay, okay, yeah this is not "real" Mexican food or whatever but it's fast food burritos at its best! Steak fajita burrito, why can't I finish you?? God it's fat and juicy and stuffed with all the things that I want in a burrito. Those burritos are damn huge - def test your stomach capacity. And see, their chips have that salty taste to it unlike the ones I've gotten at El Burrito. And their workers are fast, friendly and efficient. What more can you ask for from this place?

  • Elena N.

Not one of the best chipotle chains to go to. When it gets super busy the workers obviously looked really stressed and rushed. It can either lead to them not giving an appropriate portion of food or too much of it. It's always a hit or miss. One time, a worker was so rushed he dropped some of the lettuce on the counter and proceeded to put it back in the container with the clean lettuce. Chipotle is still chipotle though, so of course the food is still good. Although sometimes the meat tastes a little more salty than usual, but that happened only a few times. The service at this location however, isn't great.

  • Abel S.

This location has McDonald employees. It's a hit or miss at this place. If the employees worked any slower they would be in reverse. (higher some real Mexicans that would actually appreciate their job) 95 percent of the time the tables are filthy. I ordered tacos they served it to me with cold corn tortilla!!!! (I know you Nubes are reading this) how hard is it to operate the tortilla heaters!? Their is always one employee that is working really hard while the rest of them chat with each other as though none of the costumer exist in front of them. This is the new generation people get used to it where ever you go. Lackluster, entitled brats, that need their hand to be held. I can do the job of three of them I guarantee it. Nubes read this: the work ethic you have you will carry with you in future so give it some heart and stop thinking about what time you're going to get off.

One of the worst chioptle's I've ever gone to. O-m-g. LONGEST line ever. Are they slow? Are the customers slow? I know last time I came here, the girl next to me literally kept bumping into my bag. I was ready to give her a handful. But decided to be the bigger person. Right..

    (1)
  • Lawrence V.

I come into this Chipotle regularly, and there are a few things you can always expect: 1) A line all the way back to the door. 2) Not enough staff to accommodate the demand of customers waiting in line, OR staff moving noticeable slow and sub-optimal. *It is not uncommon to see a line to the door, while only one customer is being helped at the ingredient line... While others employees are looking on nonchalant. 3) Cashiers who will ask you the same question three times over, either because they aren't paying attention, or their repetitive customer autopilot has then blending everyone into each other. If I were management, I would consider staffing employees (and their break patterns) according to peak customer traffic, hire employees who have even a slight sense of urgency and pride, and expect the cashier to representative the brand and at least only ask you the same question twice...

  • Alix J.

I came here late afternoon today, with my mom. The place was dirty on several tables it was dirty. There was hardly any customers in the place and plenty of employees working! We ordered a salad and a burrito bowl, 2 drinks, a side of guacamole and chips. The cashier didn't give us our chips we asked like 3-4 times! The last time we asked, the guy said that chips are not free, I said we asked for chips when you were ringing us up . He finally gave us the chips. I said out loud I don't want to sit at the table where it is dirty! I didn't like the food it was not that good. The tortilla chips didn't taste fresh. The total was $28 expensive, I rather pay the $28 for a sit down place that serves you!

Let's face it... Not all Chipotle are made equal. I've been to numerous Chiptle locations to date and it's a hit or miss. The Westlake location is pretty consistent and I know that my chicken burrito will be POINT ON each and every time. The only cons are the sometimes long lines during lunch time and also the foods tend to be lukewarm. They can definitely do a better job keeping their food hot. Don't get me wrong because Chipotle is ALWAYS good, considering the quality for the price. It's probably one of the best "clean" fast foods out there and definitely my favorite fast food restaurant ever! I always opt for the chicken burrito with all the fixings. Get guacamole on the side because it's way worth it -- it's usually more! Also, double meat is good. I go for half chicken, half steak. And on occasion, I microwave my burrito before and it's always better hot!

  • Arsen G.

Stingy and sloppy.. There's a certain standard that chipotle has and this branch certainly doesn't meet it. I don't recommend going here, just go out and head to Serra Monte or Stonestown instead. Customer service needs to be improved by far.

    (1)
  • Karen C.

Okay every time I come here they are always out of something and are "going to make it" WTH! like if you see that you are running out of an item why wait until it's gone ? Management needs to check this issue I know it's happened to me more than once . Also I feel like their food process making is unorganized or the people making the food need to be faster , they are going at a slow pace . Food is always good so hence the 3 starts but other than that the services needs to improve so much , it's ridiculous !

I try not to go to Chipotle for my Mexican food cravings. I find authentic places offer more quality food for less. Nevertheless I was really hungry and this was the best option. It was pretty average as no Chipotle is better or worse then any other. Friendly people working here though and plenty of dining space

    (3)
  • Alexa M.

Are you people crazy only giving this place 1 star?? I absolutely love the steak fajita burrito. It's super huge but clean, flavorful, juicy & spicy. The chips here are by far my favorite. And trust me, I've had my share of chips. I AM a chip.. Zesty, fresh and crisp--doesn't even need its own salsa (and that says A LOT). People, stop picking on Chipotle. It's American/Tex-Mex/Fastfood...so don't expect some authentic messy Mexican burrito. That's what the Mission's for. Very very sweet workers too. They sure know how to wrap a burrito fast.

  • Jennie L.

I tried Chipotle for the first time last weekend. I don't know what I was thinking and how I got talked into coming here but I was painfully disappointed. Maybe it was because so many people hyped up this place and I was expecting a burrito from the Mission. big fail. The thing I don't get the most is the rice. why the hell is it hella white!?? its not spanish rice at all.. I felt like I was eating sticky rice in a sushi roll or something. that ain't no burrito rice. I added guacamole too so the less-than-average-tasting burrito came out to be over $8. no thanks..

  • Susan L.

This is the worst Chipotle. The staff is poorly trained or else just stupid? I can make a better burrito and I have no burrito rolling training. They pile a big mound of food in the middle of the burrito and then use the foil/tortilla to try and even it out into a burrito shape. It doesn't work. Their proportions are way off so you always end up with a squishy, misshapen, leaky burrito that you have to eat with a knife and fork. Thumbs down!

    (1)
  • Shum S.

I love what I get here. The food tastes fresher than most Mexican restaurants I've been to. Also the meats they use are leaner. I like that the rice has a bit of lime and cilantro in it. Sets them apart from other burrito places. For the quality and quantity of food - its def cheap. Service is efficient and polite. It's clean and the decor is modern. Not a date place but a nice place to get a quick bite. 4 stars!

  • Valerie E.

I've been to this place a few times. It's good if you want to eat fresh. The corn salsa makes me feel healthy and brings just a little sweetness to the dishes. The downside: line gets long. And if workers are waiting for more meat of your choice to be cooked, you will most likely get cut in line (as I have just experienced). I wanted steak and did not mind waiting a few extra minutes for a new tray to come out. However, a few more people BEHIND me also wanted steak, which resulted in a lot of pending bowls and tortillas waiting for steak on the counter. In turn, my steak-hungry bowl got pushed behind the rest of the pack, and 2 people walked away with their food before me even though I was in line first. This type of situation would be hard for any worker in an assembly line, especially in trying to get people out the door. And sure, everyone's hungry when they're waiting in line for food, but let's have some respect for fellow customers and NOT CUT THE LINE. Anyways, I like this place for the freshness, the corn salsa, and the HUGE bowls. You can definitely feed 2 people with 1 bowl. Barbacoa is yummy! Steak is OK. Thumbs up on the to-go containers for the bowls. Nothing spilled out of that big thang. Idea: Bring home a bowl and make your own burritos, nachos, etc. at home. They charge for chips. Boo.

I have been craving Chipotle for a long time now. I have had it only once before -- traveled from Santa Cruz to San Jose for it -- and when I tasted it today, one word described it "overrated". This probably explained why I only ate there once before. Don't get me wrong, Chipotle is definitely tasty. But for what I paid for, I can get a better tasting burrito with more food such as complimentary chips & salsa. Overall, Chipotle is successful because it appeals to the average white American, who enjoy a trademark taste in their foods. So what I'm saying is, if you want a real good burrito, head down to your local taqueria. Chipotle, overall is tasty but I dont think I will have a craving for it ever again.

Okay. So, Ive been to a couple of chipotles but I do not like this one. The workers are SO stingy with their ingredients, so their burritos are super small compared to others I have had. They dont know how to wrap the burritos so they end up falling apart. I only go here because the closest one is downtown and I live in Park Merced. Their food is good, dont get me wrong but their workers just dont know how to do it right! BTW, my friend told me to try my food with lemon (which is next to the drinks) and it has changed my life! so try it!

My impressions of this new Chipotle (once the home of Starbucks before they moved across the plaza, towards Walgreens) *Clean *Fresh *Quick *pretty basic stuff - choice of burritos, burrito bowls, fajita burritos, tacos, & salads. *high quality meats - the naturally raised & fed kind (as opposed to the artificial) *they also have beers, sodas & margaritas. *my burrito was packed into a giant wad of ingredients. *this isn't the kind of burrito you can stand and chow down. *definitely need to sit for this kind. *thank goodness they have lots of seating, both inside & out.

Haha...oh my, oh my. Where do I begin? I'm a mongo fan of Chipotle. Mission style burritos are not always my jam, but when I get to hankerin' for Chipotle, I can't let it go until I feed the beast. Before tonight, its been 5 months since my last consumption- it got me through college and I graduated 5 months ago. With that said, its a comfort food and today's been a long day and I felt like a little Chipotle could cheer me up. Not at this location! Oh my gosh: started the production line with a lovely young lady who warmed my tortilla and put a decent amount of rice and beans. Next was meat tossed on by some n00bwan that seemed unenthused to be there. He next slopped on about 6oz of sour cream, a small sprinkle of cheese, and an extreme helping of pico de gallo. I'm down for everything but lettuce on my burrito there, but come on! Proportions! Then the third person, the burrito folder girl, could not close the frickin' thing and so she half ass wrapped a second tortilla around the monstrosity. I pay, I sit down, I'm starving, and as much as it looked like a sad over flowing pig trough, it smelled great. I bite in and its like...a tortilla wrapped around dip. The beans and little bit of meat are swimming the the sauces. Oi vey. I couldn't even finish it. The only thing that kept me from complaining was that there was a line out the door and the fool that drowned my meat (ha!) seemed overwhelmed and unenthusiastic. WORST Chipotle experience I've ever had. :\ Ps: there was no ice at the fountain, so I cried into my room temperature coca cola and threw myself into my car to have a temper-tantrum like the whiny baby that I am.

I have to say, this place is so damn tasty. The flavor comes from the huge amount of sodium they put in their foods. You have to take this Mexican joint with a grain of salt, actually quite a few. You know how they have Asian fusion? This is kind of Mexican fusion. It's not authentic, but hey they bring out some of the best parts of a burrito. The medley of sour cream, guac, rice, meat (oh the steak is so good, when done right... just the right amount of seasoning, aka salt, and each cube is a little rare on the inside) explodes in your mouth. Reminds me of my college days when I'd have chipotle so much. I'm glad the San Francisco Sunset/Richmond region finally has one within reach. That being said, this one loses a star for consistency. I've had countless good experiences and two bad ones. They also have Margaritas and Coronas.

I've never met a chipotle burrito i didn't like... Especially the one's from here. I always get the chicken burrito and some chips and guac. Their guac is truly amazing, i love the cilantro...yum. I also love the idea that chipotle has online ordering...i know it's usually meant for people with large parties, who want to order a thousand burrito's, but i use it cause I'm a lazy bum, and it makes it faster. Just go in and pick it up, already paid for. Or you can use your iphone chipotle app to do that too. Also...the people at this chipotle are especially chipper. The manager always asks how I'm doing and seems very genuine about it. And there is one cashier who always jokes around with me, which is always fun. Excellent chipotle. Definitely gonna get a burrito there tomorrow. 1000 calories for me..WOOOPEEE:)

Note: 4 stars given for the crispy taco' s.It was edible and took care of our crave. So since closing down the previous Mexican restaurant Una Mas,well I was wondering what they were going to replace it with. So after some time filled with anticipation and excitement I hear about this place being another Mexican restaurant.I thought to myself,oh that would be nice if it was a kick ass Mexican joint like Tommy's (food meh,but margarita's yeahhh) ..Imagine,parking would be a pain in the ass at this mall.More than it is now(horrendous). So,come to find out it is Chipotle Mexican Grill.I have heard of the place, but never feasted on it. Place is new, clean and decent. We didn't want to get burritos here just because of what we read.We decided on: -2 Crispy Chicken & Steak Tacos each(total about $12) -Chips and Guacamole(almost $5 ) -2 sides of salsa(one which was very hot, ouch) Tacos tasted decent, guacamole was kind of salty as well as the chips. However, the chips didn't taste like store brand chips. It is nice to know you can have some fresh chips when you go to a restaurant. Guacamole portion was kind of small with the amount of chips we had. What the hell are they thinking....kick it up a notch and don't be stingy.Maybe we should have asked for a larger size. 1. We didn't get sick 2. Taco's were decent 3. Total price was about $20 dollars A place like this you just need to know what to order. Not the best place to feast, but if you are starving and in the area maybe try it out.

We came here out of curiosity and wanted to know what all the fuss is about. While I understand that people are more health conscious these days and are looking for healthy alternatives--something has to give here. We were shocked at how popular this place is--the line was long. I ordered the burrito bowl--carnitas, beans, cheese, guacamole, etc (everything minus the tortilla). It wasn't horrible but I've definitely had better. The BF ordered a quesadilla and burrito. He was disappointed because the person who was making it didn't evenly distribute the meat and fixin's. And the food was bland. We both had to add a ton of hot sauce to our food. The place needed some cleaning, too. I feel we paid more than what we got. While I am glad to have tried this place I won't say that I'll ever come back.

Chipotle makes your underwear bloody!!! Jk. (southpark reference) With all jokes outside I've had good & but moreso bad experiences in this place. The reason why I came here, curiosity. I wanted to like the food, they make everything seem so legit and that my tastebuds are ready to be attacked by this American mexi-influenced fast food. I've only tried the burritos steak here and my last time I was thoroughly disappointed. The lady making my burrito was somewhere else, with me asking her to put everything except corn with guacamole ... which lead her to putting in everything but salsa and guacamole. My stomach was more angrier than me that I lost my appetite. 3 of the 5 times I've been here their chips have been pretty stale. They never clean their tables which makes it a pain to eat inside. The only hotsauces they have available are various tabasco flavors. OK tabasco is a worthy sauce but at a mexican food place? Where's Mr. tapatio and Ms. cholula when ya need em?

This Chipotle is my favorite because of outstanding customer service and cleanliness! The last time my friend and I went, it wasn't very busy, so the employees were constantly cleaning and organizing the items in the restaurant. The manager also said, "hope you guys enjoyed your meal" when he saw us finishing up. As far as food, I love it here! I always get the Fajita Bowl, but I switch up the meats with either chicken or steak. The portions are great, and I always walk out satisfied.

Can't beat healthy burritos. At least they feel healthy without all the injections. This Chipotle gives you huge portions, which is what I like. The end result is always a huge fat burrito that takes 2 people to finish.

i still remember my first chipotle visit in davis, ca and to this day, chipotle never disappoints. you use to be able to flash your school id and get a free small soda(don't think they still honor that, do they?). anyway, here's my usual burrito: +cilantro rice +onions/peppers +chicken/carnitas +mild salsa +corn salsa +cheese +sour cream +chipotle tobasco i'm always full after eating one of these. is it just me or are the burritos always busting at the seams!?

Big ups to Jackie for hookin it up. I didnt really have a choice to eat here but it was close to work and my coworkers wanted something fast. I like the fresh ingredients and the innovative do it in front of you assembly line but like I said, Jackie was the only one who actually gave a damn and gave me and my coworkers good service. Thank god for small miracles since she was at the end of the line because the other cohorts seemed as if we ruined THEIR lunchtime... As for the food, If you love Mexican food like I do, go to a real Mexican restaurant. The only thing I really enjoyed were the chips and guac...

I like going to chipotle when I don't feel like making lunch. The burritos always taste the same, which is something I definitely like: consistency. However, the first time service and etc was normal and adequate, but each of the following times, employees have shown that they do not know how to wrap a burrito. Is it that hard to wrap a freaking burrito? Every other employee at every other chipotle can, so why can't anyone here? To make things easier for the employee wrapping, I always order my burritos with a double shell, but apparently they don't understand that. The first time, the girl tried to wrap the burrito, and then she rewrapped it in the second shell. The second time, the girl didn't space out the tortillas and just tried to close the burrito by wrapping it in extra foil. I'm not sure how they don't get it. Take the two shells and space them as if it were an even bigger shell that will fit all of the contents of the burrito! So, the contents of my burrito have fallen apart and all over the place, because people from here do not know how to wrap a freaking burrito. I have been going to many Chipotles for many years, and this is so far, definitely NOT the best. Other than this whole wrapping fiasco, I feel that the burritos still taste good, and it saves me time and efforts when I don't want to fix lunch and want something cheap.

WARNING! This is not authentic Mexican GET OVER IT ! If I want mexican I head straight to Lisa's Mexican Or down to the Mission for a burrito Chipotle is Delicious! All Natural meat. The White (I already warned you, It's NOT authentic) lime rice goes brilliantly with the other ingredients. I almost always get the Barbacoa beef. Its like spicy pulled beef . My only complaint is It can be a little salty sometimesThe Guac is worth the extra $1.40 I like the chicken and have yet to try the steak. Bottom line is that I love this place but realize your not in the mission =o)

So my mom wanted to eat here since she is vegetarian. I said ok since the food is usually good. Boy was I wrong. This location was not great by far! It awes a Friday night and the place was thrashed. The store looked understaffed. There were three people on the line and two in the kitchen. The one good thing about my visit was that the guy on tortilla was friendly and smiled the whole time. I could not say than for the lady that was helping us in the salsa station. She was rude, hAd an attitude and was not friendly at all. She appeared to be the supervisor, but was not really giving positive energy at all, not was she delegating to her staff. The register girl did not even say thank you or any parting comment. the tables were all dirty. Tis location did not carry the chipotle flavored Tabasco that I liked and their drink station was out of lemons and ice! I used to work at chipotle and I can honestly say that this store must not be performing up to standards! I will never visit this store again! I came in at 7:45 pm on 8-24-12.

Yeah, yeah, it's no Pancho Villa's or Papalote, but it is somewhat healthy, fast, cheap and convenient mexican-ish food that's close by AND has ample parking!! When doing a comparison between this location, Millbrae and San Mateo, I gotta say that this location is not quite up to par yet. I've gone twice since they've opened, and each time they have yet to show some sign of consistency...first visit I received a very anemic chicken burrito - second visit, my burrito could have been a stunt double for Kirsty Alley... Still, I must say eating at Chipotle is a guilty pleasure!

  • Annie W.

There is a pretty long line during lunch hours but the line does go by quickly which is a plus. The food is pretty good for fast food. It sure beats McDonalds. This location has MUCH better parking than the new Colma location but it is a bit out of the way.

I'm actually a pretty big fan of Chipotle. I love their business model and how they stress the quality of ingredients. However, this review is for this particular Chipotle at Westlake. I come here pretty often because I do crave Chipotle every so often. My problem is that they are pretty inconsistent with their serving sizes here. Sometimes I'll get enough meat, and sometimes I'll get very little. Every so often I'll get very very few pieces of steak in my burrito or bowl, so few sometimes that I can count the number of pieces with the fingers on my hand, which is pretty unacceptable given the price of the burrito or the bowl. The service can be pretty inconsistent too. There are workers here who are extremely friendly and nice to you and there are others who seem like they absolutely hate life. I really like Chipotle but this branch is probably the least favorite one I have visited.

Its an ok place to eat but I wouldn't come here for a burrito get the burrito bowl instead. it makes me think that I'm eating healthy. You could add whatever you want in the bowl. There is girl that works at chipotle that is really skimpy with the portions and there is a guy that is really generous. Chicken burrito bowl without beans add mild salsa corn salsa and guacamole and top it off with lettuce...yum

Yum-oh! I have a thing for Mexican food. Delicious burritos, I recommend carne asada. You can't go wrong with the cilantro-lime rice.

  • Joshua J.

UnaMas had this huge menu and the beef steak burrito and chicken burrito had no flavor whatsoever. Now Chipotle has a very simplified menu and serves up A beef, chicken, or steak burritto as well as Vegetarian. They also have Burrito Bowls and Tacos. Their guacamole tastes fantastic and their chips are out of this world. Quick and fast, friendly service. Plenty of space to sit and very spacious with lots of windows so you can watch your car outside. If I were in line in any other Mexican Grill I would be waiting for my food, but here at Chipotle I don't have to wait. They make it in front of you. Cafeteria Style.

  • Jenny W.

Not authentic, obviously. The guac is pretty good, I like the rice here, but not the beans. I actually opt for the veggie burrito here, even though I don't anywhere else. I like the selecion of salsa, even the corn ones, and the fresh lettuce in my veggie burrito w/the yummy rice and guac. =) Not a fan of the chips.

    (3)
  • Janet R.

I do not like chipotle. I ordered a grilled carne asade burrito with everything, and the rice in my burrito was seasoned with this gross parsley cilantro lemony icky seasoning. Then i went to the city to try it again, and no luck. a little better tasting rice, but it still had that blechy seasoning. The guacamole was not good...i do not like an excess of onions in anything, but the fact that its crunchy, is so bad. Save your twenty bucks and take the bart to mission and eat at el faro or gordos.

uh ya... come here with my family. and i swear we are not coming back. poor @$$ customer service. idk if they didnt give a shit or what! if u dont give a shit go home! business owner is so losing business!!! and because they ran out of an ingredient, instead of waiting for the next batch they put in the smallest amt into ur concoction. so not worth our money! so not coming back!!! wish i could give ZERO stars!!!!!!!

    (1)
  • Annie L.

the VERY best when you get a rookie burrito maker because then they overstuff and you end up with a GINORMOUS burrito! I wish they didn't charge extra for guac though.

  • eric l.

Burritos must be my favorite food. What's not to like. You get meat, rice, beans and salsa all wrapped up in foil. It's packing is awesome! But let's get back to Chipotle. First the taste. Not bad. But could use improvements. For example, most of the meats are too salty. For a place that stress healthy eating, that almost seems ironic. Also, WTF... no free chips? And what's up with paying $1.60ish for guac? I can just run over to Trader Joes and pick up a bucket of guac for $2. If you want a average burrito then come here.... If you want to spend around $8 for a burrito then come here... if you want free chips and cheap gac.. dont' come here.

    (3)
  • Michelle W.

Keep in mind it's a chain restaurant. No authenticity whatsoever. If you want a quick meal, you should come here. Remember, I didn't say delicious or cheap, just "quick." I can't believe they charge $1.75 for guacamole. It's absurd.

    (2)
  • Gee L.

This place is good but some workers here are rude and one lady kept arguing with my mom because she thought the other behind us was with us and she thought we changed our order so the workers are hella rude

  • Eric A.

I like this place better than the other Chipotle in SF I reviewed simply because it's closer and more convenient. The same food, if not sometimes not as good (chips were stale a couple times.) I'd only eat here on Chipotle cravings, if i want Mexican food I'd actually go to a Taqueria!

    (3)
  • Chad B.

OK, the rating says it all but one should not be that all surprise with a chain like this. I had their chicken burrito which they boast is naturally raised but the rest of the burrito was unnaturally unflavored. Plus, chips were extra and it's more if you added salsa or guacamole... you kidding me. Chips, salsa, or guacamole should be free. I should know better but it was convenient. Next time, I'm going for the real deal somewhere else and not this one.

Oh Chipotle! How i love thee! What's not to love about this place? its super CLEAN! ,they make a killer veggie burrito (With corn, peppers, grilled onions, guac, sour cream, cheese and lots of hot sauce!), my roommate swears by their burrito bowls and their really hot sauce is decently hot! They have a lot of seating, but it can still get pretty crowded around lunch and dinner time. And yes they charge you extra for Guac and chips, which are pretty good by the way. But hey get over it, its not a cheap ass taqueria, and you live in San Francisco, other places have charged you much for food that you shouldn't paid anything for in the first place. You should be flogged! Don't expect greatness if you walk in, Expect fresh ingredients, clean flavors, quick service and a decently made burrito (if you do order one). You can't go wrong with Chipotle. Usually when you roll something this good, its illegal! Oh by the way its owned by McDonald's

  • Andrew B.

This Chipotle is really hit or miss. It's either really good or really bad. Chipotle is generally very consistent. Usually their process for making sure everything is in-stock works and works well, however this one seems to have an issue. EVERY time I go in there are items out of stock\not ready, be it chicken, or peppers\onions, or sour cream. I feel like given their basic and very limited menu, it's unacceptable to not have everything ready. The one that baffles me is the chicken. How is it that at 6 pm they can run out of cooked chicken? To me it's basic Restaurant 101. It's 6 pm and you're open until 10. You have 2 lbs of cooked chicken left and you know you'll use 5x that before close. Do you a) wait for it to run out then make the line wait 20 minutes to grill and chop more, or b) start when it's almost gone so people don't have to wait? To me, "b" is the clear choice, but maybe I over-simplify things? Anyhow, I absolutely love Chipotle, and always recommend them, but given the option to go to this location or another one I'll drive the distance to somewhere else.

  • Matthew G.

I was so excited when this place opened. I've been a Chipotle fan for a while now so it's nice have one in walking distance. All you other people who live in the Westlake district know what I'm talking about. Chipotle is cool because you get to see basically the whole operation when it comes to the preparation of your food so you know there is no funny business going on. After I saw the movie Waiting I have been super paranoid about that type of stuff. And they pack your burrito big enough that you are sure to be full by the time you finish it, if you finish it. I try not to eat meat whenever I can help it in life so I usually get their vegetarian burrito and it always fills me up. And if you like to stay away from carbs you can get a burrito bowl which is the burrito without the tortilla. So far every time I have been there it has been pretty crowded so I would say that attest to the quality of the product they are putting out.

  • Kevin C.

I'm so over Chipotle. I want a real burrito, preferably from the Mission, made by Mexicans who only understand enough English to know that I'm not messing around when it comes to a damn deliciously ginormous, mouthwatering burrito. I'm over these bland Chipotle burritos made by these youngin Ambercrombie & Fitch rejected applicants who are spiteful that they aren't working retail with their friends in the mall, who slap on a measly spoonful of cilantro laced white rice and beans and tough jerky textured meat into a tortilla, and charge me extra to add guacamole and salty chips to my order, but are too pleased to offer an extra helping of condescending attitude free of charge, even a double dose if you're lucky.

  • S Y.

A great replacement to fast food cause they are pretty fast with orders. Fresh and tasty ingredients make for a good, hearty meal here. I like the steak rice bowl. Cilantro white rice, topped with carne asada, beans (although, I always pass on it,) fajita veggies, choices of mild to hot salsas, sour cream, cheese, guacamole and lettuce... yuuum yuum yum! The lime salted chips are yummy for dipping into the rice bowl too!

    (4)
  • Gerald C.

their mild salsa has jalapeno bits in it. that qualifies as hot to me, and they don't have a milder option. otherwise the food is decent. i'm still sweating my ass off as i type this.

I've heard absolutely wonderful things about Chipotle, so of course when I saw they were opening a location at Westlake, I was excited! I'd been craving a burrito for a while..so my girls and I came here for lunch one day. Everything LOOKS really good...menu is straight forward... We all had steak burritos. The steak was DRY...too chewy. My burrito was cold, too! I was hungry so I ate half of it anyways, but I was anything but satisfied. The rice was kinda weird, the hot sauce was REALLY spicy (prob the best thing about the burrito), the corn was okay, salsa was okay. Bleh.. 2/3 of us got sour stomachs later on. We visited a friend over at Verizon and he said "You'll be using the bathroom later" nuff said.

  • Samantha M.

I choose CLEAN, FRESH, and HEALTHY over authentic... I'm just sayin... The only thing that super ANNOYS me about this place is that they are always in SUCH a hurry to fill your burrito (even when there is no one else in line) that you barely can get a word in of what you want or don't want inside of it. Chipotle People: CHILL OUT AND SLOOOOW IT DOWN...

  • Lillian L.

I've missed Mexican food in the area ever since Uno Mas left. Now the void has been filled again. I love Chipotle! My favorite is the carne asada burrito, especially with lots of tomato & corn salsa. Their ingredients are all fresh, and the meat is tender and juicy. The burritos are also big enough for lunch AND dinner. The only cons are that they don't have horchada or aqua fresca, nor do they provide free chips & salsa like most taquerias.

    (4)
  • Walter P.

Chipotle is not exactly great Mexican-inspired food at all! For a place that boasts about its fresh ingredients and nifty-looking website, the servings are VERY skimpy! Not just at this Daly City location, but at ALL their other locations I happen to stop by in out of hunger for some food. It is undeniable their food is good, but not worth the price when I can purchase a heftily stuffed burrito from one of the more independent, and neighboring, taquerias Chipotle is in probable attempts of placing out of business. I have complained to their corporate offices about the small portions, but not only did they address me with the wrong name, but were not very concerned in my concern of alerting their restaurants to increase the portion amounts into the burritos and other dishes offered. So I feel that I should be paying, at most, $3.85 for their chicken burrito, NOT $5.85 for that little stuffed tortilla. However, for the next time, I do plan on walking or driving that extra one or two mile to a taqueria where I know I can buy a more robust burrito to really get more for my dollar. Avoid Chipotle if you can!

First & Last time I will visit this location. The people behind the counter were young & rude! Music was WAY TO LOUD! Could not even order due to that fact! Went w/my mom, who has a vision & hearing problem. Had to order for both of us. Employees need to be courtious & more patient w/ADA clients. They looked like they didn't want to be at work when we were ordering. I think that employees might need some retraining when it comes to a customer is DISABLED!

Background: Came here with a few friends and it was pretty crowded but the line moved fast. Order: Got a steak burrito, black beans, rice. no onion/bell peppers, sour cream, cheese, mild salsa, corn, lettuce: $6.83. Satisfaction: 9/10 Burrito was HUGE (can't believe they could wrap that thing). Slightly difficult to eat, but they have utensils for messy eaters =] Worth the money (had a BOGOF, but still worth it as full price). Tasted fantastic, the flavors meshed very well together. Black beans didn't taste too "bean-y". The steak was spicy and I can't take spicy food, so I wish they had clarified that before choosing the steak.

1.5, rounding down. Chipotle, I TRIED to like you. I really did. You are a clean place, with fresh ingredients. Your marketing scheme of Free Burrito Day tempted me, but alas, the line was ridiculous. So when a friend that works here brought me one, I was excited to try it! But after the first bite.... :( Typically, I don't like chains (except for In&Out). But many people tell me that your burritos are a godsend (Turns out they are from the Midwest & East Coast). Your burritos are GROSS. I will give it to you that they are humongous, but they are disgusting. A burrito should not taste like that. It was full of CRAP! Where was my chicken? All I tasted was fillers! It's an overpriced Americanized "burrito". :(

    (1)
  • Lizzie C.

Meh. It's Chipotle. It's Mexican McDonald's, and you can get an authentic Mexican burrito at a real taqueria for the same price or cheaper. It's not bad though, mostly because it's convenient, but you can definitely get better.

  • Ken M.

Absolutely agree with Ricialg - this Chipotle restaurant is HELLA STINGY! By far the smallest Chipotle burrito I've ever gotten... It was kinda weird though; I placed my order behind my friends - one of whom ordered the same grilled chicken burrito I did. The guys behind the counter seemed friendly enough and I joked with them about how I love to have both the corn and green salsa together (it really is damn good). They hooked it up no problem, but when I got my burrito wrapped and compared it to my friend's, mine looked like it was some kiddie meal sized burrito I could have gotten at Taco Bell for a buck! So maybe not all their burritos are tiny, but damn, it's December and they coulda been more generous to me given the holidays! Food still tasted good though, but I was left hungry after finishing mine in a few bites.

I love Chipotle a lot but this place has sub-par service and food. The first staff in line was preoccupied by something else. I asked for a salad but she wanted to make a bowl. We wanted to do to-go and said it twice but she still repeated back to us 'eating here, right?' We were definitely no soft spoken people. You got the idea - she did not listen. The steak was overcooked and leathery, very disappointed as I have always had quality steak at the SF downtown location. There seemed to be no manager on site when I was there last night so perhaps there was a management issue.

Ive been to Chipotle like twice since it opened. First time going they were giving out free meals! Then I went again when it opened and actually bought something. So far I tried their Steak Burrito and Chicken Burrito. Both times I went the food was OK. The setup was a little weird. Looked like some kind of cafeteria set up here. The food itself tasted ok. It was pretty good since this place is classified as "fast food" so its not bad at all. Prices are good, not too expensive either.

  • Thom H.

Hard not to drool thinking about those 3 steak tacos! Burritos are overwhelming in terms of size and price. Both are hella much. The staff has always been cool to me and they get you in and out pretty quick considering how packed it always is. One funny thing to me is the ladies working there always give me less steak than the dudes. hmmm. Really though any one complaining that this is not 'authentic Mexican' should get the captain obvious award. You couldn't tell by the new age world music sounds pumping when you walked in? It's like complaining that PF Chang's isn't authentic Chinese food. Kinda special people.

I love chipotle! I can eat it 3 times a week. However, this particular location was pretty disappointing. Everything tasted the same as other chipotles, but the service was horrible. The guy who greets you in the very beginning took quite some time to finish his conversation with the customer in front of me before he acknowledged that I was there. After I placed my order with him, the lady after me asked for a "taco plate" and the employee was confused because he couldn't figure out what she wanted. And when he finally realized she wanted the tacos (go figure), he had to correct her and told her that next time she should just say three tacos. I mean come on! Then the next employee was just slow. The cashier wasn't rude, but she wasn't friendly either. The portions at this chipotle are smaller than other chipotles. It still tastes good though, which is why I still think it deserves three stars. I will be returning because it's close to my house, but I won't be expecting too much.

I feel sorry for all the people stuck in the daly city - westlake area with this place reppin Mexican food ... The portions are good (for the burritos) but it's nuttin but rice and beans, the meat is ok but overall-the 1 star is fir portions! Other than that, no good!

burrito bowl with a tortilla on the side please. rice yes, black beans. steak, lettuce, yeah that salsa over there, cheese, and corn. yum! and they guy who works there (maybe worked, i havent seen him in a while) with the piercing under his lip is SUPER nice. he once offered me a free burrito because i had to wait for them to cook the meat when i went in a 9:50 pm! i was too embarrassed to take it for free though. dumb me. and then he offered to let us eat there even though it was closing time! what a nice guy! but alas, i havent seen him recently. and when hes not there my portions are not as big.

Meh... My burrito was a square. It felt huge only because it was as tall as it was wide. Seriously misshapen burrito. What's with the ceviche flavor in the burritos? The whole time I'm eating a carnitas burrito, I feel almost like I'm eating ceviche flavored burrito because of the acidity. I don't know where the acidity was from. Weird. And I have to buy the chips?!?!

I really like this particular Chipotle after being to two others. The manager is really on top of it and make sure everything flows smoothly. I LOVE the guacamole and the "bowls" instead of burritos. I can have a healthy, but filling meal without breaking my diet. I usually have chicken, black bleans, lettuce, corn salsa, tomato salsa, and some guacamole and I am stuffed! what a bargain and fresh too! For fast food it is really up there. Baja fresh better watch out. I look forward to them expanding their menu in the future....maybe to adding fish, tofu or other mexican items? Really well-managed with polite and efficient employees! YUM!

My new fav place to eat Mexican food!! I order the chicken burrito bowl with everything in it. My friend got the burrito with steak and everything in it as well. BOTH WERE EXCELLENT!

I'll give it 1 star for trying since there isn't 0. I've always never really liked this place. The one by montgomary is a little better maybe. But I think they rip off ppl. Its better to go to real taquerias. They charge for chips, sauce, almost everything. By the time you pay you're burritto comes out to $13. Wow! It isn't so good either. I ordered steak buritto and the meat was so hard. Second time, I only went because I was craving for burrito and they don't have any other Mexican restaurents that are close by, I kinda miss the Una Mas place they replaced, which was way way better. Also, they put so much salt in their meat. It was horrible Too much salt Meat uncooked/too hard/burnt Over priced! Thumbs down! Will not come back.

I'm not exactly sure how I feel about this joint. Growing up with the tastes of El Burrito Express on Taravel, Chipotle completely threw me a curve-ball. The chips have a hint of lemon and the burrito itself has a tad of a sweetness or spiciness (it seems to flip flop from burrito to burrito). When you walk in the restaurant (the old Starbucks location), you immediately see an aluminum-esque interior. You walk right up to the counter. I ordered a chicken burrito. I watched them heat up the tortilla, cover it with the rice, chicken, a salsa of my choice (hot, hotter, or hottest), and add the other burrito norms of my choice. When they got to the guacamole, I was incredibly excited that they were going to add the guac for free. A part of me died inside when I watched the friendly cashier add about a dollar or so for the guacamole's addition. A small oversight on my part. O well. I had a strong attraction to the brown bags with "Chips" written on them behind the cashier. [Note: The chips don't come with the burrito.] Get them. They are delicious. So, I give this a 4 star for the excellent service (it was enough to ignore the server's fail in telling me about the guac charge), the "assembly-line" method, and the fresh, flavorful food. Note: The Chips cost extra.

I finally decided to give Chipotle a try after years of avoiding the "Mexican Subway." Not the best Mexican (if you can call it that) but I certainly won't be avoiding it anymore.

For the price, you get a huge burrito. It's definitely high on the value factor for me. The place is clean and did I mention that the burrito is fricken huge!

  • Jeremy B.

Mediocre at best. You're within range of real taquerias like Ocean or the one on SFSU's campus. And you're right next door to Nations. The burrito I had was smaller than others i've had, the rice was white rice with cilantro, the meat was chewy, and the hot sauce was just heat, no flavor. And to get Guacamole cost an extra 1.65?! I ended up paying for a $9.25 carne asada burrito. It'll probably be the last time I go there unless I'm really jonesing for some mexican food and I'm in Westlake. The amount I paid could've bought me a jumbo burrito from Ocean, and it would woop anything Chipotle could throw at me. The interior is kind of cool, but aside from that, this place ain't got no soul! Find a Taqueria!

burritos- pretty big. not Mission street burrito big but big. i always get the "barbacoa" beef...its like a shredded spicy bbq simmered beef. off the hook! tacos- you get three soft or hard or both. very tasty. cant go wrong with the americanized burrito joint sometimes. oh yeah the guacamole is killer!

I love Chipotle and i'm glad it opened here. I read all the reviews and i find them to be very stupid and ignorant. first of all its called "chipotle", after a pepper you 'tard. therefore you can expect it to be flaming hot spicy, and therefore don't bring your kids. second, its not owned by Mc Donalds and Mc Donalds did not create it. But it was once owned by them, not anymore. third, who said it was authentic? why are people freaking out about white rice. Who says all Mexican or Mexican American restaurants have to serve brown spanish rice. You don't like it? Then fuck you, you don't have to eat it. Chipotle is gourmet burritos conceived by a white guy as I'm sure panda express was too. fourth, I can't believe how many people expect free chips and salsa and ask for super burritos. how is it that people can't grasp the concept that all Mexican style restaurants aren't the same. fifth, people don't realize its expensive because of the fact that they use naturally raised meats, fresh and organic ingredients and recyclable materials. Its was sets them apart from other fast food places. Aside from the high sodium content its much healthier than other places. its also the reason why its probably salty too because they have to make up the flavor for the lack of all the bad stuff like fat and grease.

This place is great for quick food mid-Westlake shopping trip. The service is friendly and fast, and they always get my weird order right.

It may not be authentic Mexican flair, but the food ain't bad. It's relatively cheap and filling. The plus is that there is an outdoor seating place perfect for me and my dog to chill out after a morning walk at Fort Funston.

Gluten Free Mexican This particular Chipotle truly gets the gluten free thing. When I explained to the manager that I needed him to change his gloves because of my sensitivity to the wheat in the flour tortillas that he had been handling, not only did he cheerfully agree to do it, but he washed his hands carefully before putting on new gloves. He went the extra mile to make my entire salad order so that no one else in the serving line touched my food. All this was done with a smile and great understanding. The food is fresh and tasty and they really get Gluten Free.

I can't consider this actual food. I just can't. Since when are Soft Chicken Tacos supposed to be served cold? Why is the meat not kept at a hot temperature and instead stored in a container that's been sitting all day long? And why does the food taste so gnarly and bland? They might as well have given me garbage wrapped in tin foil. And why is guacamole charged extra? Did someone die trying to bring the ingredients to the store? I haven't been to Rubios at Serramonte in a while, but everytime I ordered a Quesadilla or Fish Taco to-go, i would get chips AND guacamole included with my order. There's a lot of other places to eat at Westlake, so why waste your money here? But I do have words of advice for Chipotle. In the words of Ken Jeong in Pineapple Express, "Suck my balls, TWO TIMES!"

  • B B.

$1.65 extra for guacamole?! are you fucking kidding me?! $0.90 for a bag chips?! wtf?! chips AND salsa...i believe it was around $2.00. with all that space, you would think they have a salsa bar! if i went to an actual taqueria, chips and salsa would be free! oh and the guacamole would be included in my burrito! end rant. chipotle...eh...its not that bad. i had the chicken burrito. it was around $6. and the burrito was so-so. i was just disappointed that you have to pay EXTRA for guacamole. but i'm glad i finally got to try this place. try it if you're curious. otherwise, just stick to your favorite taqueria.

I'm a Chipotle fan and I've been going to Chipotle's for years. I just moved to bay area and saw this place so I had to try it. Went there for dinner last and was pleasantly surprised by the portions and good service. I got the 3 soft tacos with chicken (I've never liked the beef at Chipotle) fajita onions and corn. Yum! We are definitely coming back for more! The water cup size was huge and I appreciate that since we have given up on Sodas. Looking forward to coming here again soon!

I have a steak burrito and when it 's wrapped together, its huge. When I bite on it, everything falls apart. The line was terrible during lunch times, I don't understand why so many people. The food was cold. Bad.

    (2)
  • Dane S.

May not be the best burrito but definitely one of the more healthier, as long as you know what to order and don't keep a whole burrito to yourself or all at once. Regardless, naturally grown meats and vegetables. So if you want "authentic" steroid enhanced ingredients more likely to the mission.

    (4)
  • Nancy L.

Burritos don't taste that fresh, but decent size if you're starving.

  • Diane M.

The biggest problem that I have with this place is the fact that everything is soooo salty. The chips are covered in salt and everything else is overflowing with salt. Now...I do like salt and I don't think in my 200+ reviews have I complained about food being way too salty but this place is just ridiculous. The food overall is ok as well as the service. I don't think they are anything special although I like the fact that the rice is white versus the traditional Mexican rice but you do sacrifice taste because of it. Their menu is also very limited. A good place to go for a quick bite if you are craving Mexican food and are too lazy to drive any further but honestly...you are better off going to a real Mexican restaurant than this place...

Chipotle at Westlake in Daly City is our first choice for Mexican Food --- always fresh, tasty, healthy, and very reasonably priced. A very reliable place for comfort food. Check it out!

With all of the awesome independent shops around, I thought these guys would at least have a semblance of parity. Yech! Bland ingredients, more rice than anything else in the burritos. Give it a miss and head across the street to Daphne's.

  • Sheena C.

Why is everyone crying about this place? If you want authentic Mexican food, go to the Mission! Chipotle is owned by McDonald's- so it's about as Mexican as Panda Express is Chinese.. and it's delicious.

  • Allan T.

Hmm.. it's very standard and burrito was so so. I guess it's very fast food style which is ok because it's convenient. My chicken burrito was fairly good but i got chips and guacamole but the guacamole was more like chucks of avocado shoved in a little container!! I dunno about you but if i wanted avocado chunks i would have just cut my own up. Flip side is that parking is plenty and service wasn't bad.

  • Rommel N.

It's not a Mission Street burrito, but it serves it's purpose. I ordered the shredded beef burrito with green peppers, onions, black beans, guacamole, sour cream, and cheese and that ish was off the hook. I love the cilantro rice they use and although it sucks that they charge for chips and guacamole ($2.40 and -1 star) it was actually quite worth it. My last experience with Chipotle was when I went to visit Chicago a few years back and it wasn't all that impressive. It was definitely better this time around. I'd probably only hit this place up when I get too lazy to go to the real taquerias on Mission Street.

Never ever ever again! The burritos's are bleh.... Chips & Salsa, hello! my gosh we had to pay for! Aren't they supposed to be free??? And the salsa came on a tiny plastic cup enough for only say 5 chips? A dollop of guacamole, extra $1.65. All of sudden I missed Una Mas! I can swim in salsa if I wanted to and no one could care less!

This is going to be biased as I hate the chain to begin with, but I decided to give themselves the chance to redeem themselves. And did they fail miserably. The food has the corporate taste. What does that mean? It's unsatisfying and less than fulfilling. The staff was pretty inattentive and burrito's terribly wrapped. AND they're freaking expensive for what is essentially rice and tortilla.

    (1)
  • Ken R.

Worst chipotle spot I have been 2. They can not fold a burrito 2 save thier lives. I did not know that folding a burrito was a skill untill I witnessed an asain girl fail at it. And then I go back thinking I will give them another chance and I ask that the guy not to fold my burrito so all the meat and beans are falling out the side and compact everything in the middle. And he says ok and does exactly what I asked him not to do. LEARN HOW TO WRAP A BURRITO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not a big fan of fast food chains on burritos, but it is okay. Def. not as good as a taqueria, but it is okay. The only complaint I really have is the price and I wish they had bad salsa choices. Also no free nachos?! Not good there.

First, to clear things up. Chipotle is NOT owned by Mcdonalds. It was started in Denver circa 1993 by a former San Francisco gourmet chef who believed in higher quality foods for the masses. Mcdonalds recognized the greatness and made a majority purchase to facilitate expansion but didn't touch the core operations. They've been completely divested of their chipotle stock for several years now. I've been a diehard devotee for more than 10 years. I love hearing all of the eco-snobs rag on Chipotle for being a blackhearted chain. The truth is that Chipotle is doing more to change the mainstream thought process about naturally produced and organic foods than any other organization I've come across. They sold me on their FWI (food with integrity) concept years ago and I'm just a big dumb former Iowa farm boy. If their message reached me it can reach anyone. So I love Chipotle but I don't love this location, or most locations in the bay area for that matter. They don't get some of the subtleties that make Chipotle great. They are concerned about loading your burritos up too large because they aren't great at rolling and they don't want them to burst. The food is nearly the same everywhere but the employees sometimes lack the zest and joy that make a trip to chipotle more enjoyable. The foster city Chipotle has been the most in line with the vibe of the Denver locations that are the wellspring of the greatest fast food establishment I've had the pleasure of knowing.

i have been to denver colorado chipotle and was introduce to some good menus there and enjoyed with my company eating one of the best burritos, also in millbrae and in mountain view and in westlake. however, the newest one in colma, i did not find it interesting..there is no child menu and they made up something in a tray that has a ridiculous portion...my daughter only ate the grated cheese which is only served with a tablespoon and their chicken and beef meat were all spicy so no choice but get a pork meat with a funny taste to it and of course a tablespoon as well!!oh well...

I've tried this chain (owned by McDonalds) 3 different times now and I just can't believe its that bad because it looks like it should taste good. As a vegetarian, I love the fact that you an get corn and grilled peppers and onions in my burrito, but for some reason, it just tastes horrible. The ingredients don't come together or something. The rice is so salty that ruins it by itself. The guacamole is like a huge cold glob in the burrito and there are no free chips to at least dip into it to eat it that way. I miss the Unamas that used to be at this location next door - at least I could manage that place. I can't possibly eat here. Too bad, cause they have outside seating for my dog, its close to home, and I appreciate their commitment to sustainability. Just wish I could stand the food to support them.

i know it's not open yet but it will be five-star worthy when it does. a burrito bowl will be less than a three minute drive from my place. must....have.....chicken.....burrito.....bowl.....extra....guacamole.....now. open open open open!!

  • Cherry L.

I'm addicted! I cant seem to get enough- i want to say the food is great but the service is not that great... For the amount of money you pay they should give you a heaping spoonful instead of tapping the spoon and giving you half a spoonful. It's like giving you the bear minimum. Also when they charge you a $1.85 extra for guacamole you should get a full spoonful instead of half. Plus the manager is not a very friendly person. She seems like she's not in a good mood every time i go there. I'm starting to think i need to go to another Chipotle where they are friendlier and not so heavy handed on the tapping of the spoon!

  • Charles M.

I have to agree, if you want a REAL burrito and taco then go to a taqueria, but this place is cool for a filling satisfying meal if you're at the mall and don't want to hassle with finding parking in the Mission. Actually the food doesn't make you feel all greasy filled like most burrito joints, almost a freshness to it. Line sucked at peak times, restaurant is clean, even has an outdoor area to eat (which isn't really a plus at the Westlake location...brrr...)

    (3)

I ate here for the first time yesterday and ordered a steak bowl. It was good. I was a bit surprised that a small dollop of guac will cost you $1.65 i like that they take credit card. Convenient location. I would eat here again.

Like everyone says, you have to hit up mission if you want a burrito or taco. McDonald's making burrito's what!!!!!, pretty soon they'll buy out a pizza franchise or chinese spot. Burrito goes for about $6.50 with tax, chips not included. When I was there a customer returned the chips, said they were salty, cashier said that's how we make them, and told the cashier to eat one. Instead they refunded the chips.

I don't find whats so great about this place. It sucks IMHO. First, the line was long, second, the workers are un-experienced and work as slow as a slug, third, the burrito is small, and forth, the place just sucks. I thought this place would be good since all my friends have been talking about it, but I'd rather go down on Mission street to get some authentic Mexican food next time.

The better half was craving burrito too after hearing me talk about it at home so i went again on saturday to this location near home. got there at 11:30 after a visit to traders joe. No line (cool). Ordered two burritos and chips again and was on my way home with lunch for 2 for $15. I'm happy their in the hood cause the burrito place on taraval, while close is tiny and does seems quite as clean as chipotle. give me shiny chrome and a open chicken and staff that wears gloves and aprons anytime. clean is good. plus westlake has parking which is always a bonus.

wanted to try out chipotle after hearing my friends rave about it while i was in SD.. they even wanted to move down to sd because there were so many chipotle restaurants down there.. haha.. (they go to school there) i had the chicken burrito.. and it wasnt anything special.. the lady didn't really know how to roll the burrito.. eh.. i think i'm gonna stick to my local taqueria

    (2)
  • Jeremy B.

Yes its no where near authentic. Yes its owned by McDonalds. Yes the burritos have white rice in them. Do I care? Certainly not! I understand why people who were raised on authentic mexican food would eschew this in place of some little taqueria. But for me, I'm F'n hooked! I steered clear of this place for a good 4 years, but I finally went for it about 2 months ago and wont look back. Probably had 5 burritos from there in 2 weeks. Terrific to take into the theaters too. And maybe it doesnt deserve 5 stars, but I'm just sad about its current rankings so I'm trying to take it up a bit. Dont be mexican snobs!!

    (5)
  • Katherine C.

2.5 stars. I had the steak burrito. You can have it as a taco or whatever. Whatever you like. Guacamole costs $1.65 extra. Which is outrageous because the burritos are already 6-7 bucks. The burrito was actually pretty good. They're small bottles of tabasco sauce and I particularly liked the chipotle flavored tabasco sauce. Chips and salsa are not included. On a side note, my friends got sick from the chicken burrito they had.

People come to Chipotle for a quick, standard burrito that won't blow your socks off but still leaves you stuffed and willing to go back the next time you're in need of a quick burrito fix. And for a place like Chipotle where everything is the same from place to place, you wouldn't think it would be so hard for these employees to mess it up so much. After this experience, I don't know when the next time I'll visit a chipotle. Well at least not this location ever again. Pretty pathetic how poorly run this Chipotle is. Walked in about 8 o'clock Friday night to a small line of about 8 people. 20 minutes later we were still waiting to pay. This place was understaffed by about 3 people and those there obviously were either new or just clueless as to how to whip up a burrito and move you along. A group of people in the front of the line ordered margaritas, so the cashier had to go make them and no one else thought that maybe they should step in and just ring everyone else up. This led to everyone behind them still ordering and the little girl that looked to be in high school kept making the burritos, at a snails pace for that matter, and just let the orders pile up at the end of the table. Meanwhile one of the other newbies looked like he just went on his break and was just standing around in the back joking with another guy, completely oblivious to the fact that there were 8 people standing there just waiting to pay. Wouldn't you think to just help out for a few extra minutes and take care of the mess? I never knew getting someone through a burrito line could be so tough. There's no way there was a manager there at the time because everyone working there seemed lost and clueless as to what they should be doing. Burrito was overstuffed and not rolled up correctly. Instead it was folded up into a rectangular blob. Not the usual Chipotle flavors and definitely not worth the 20 minute wait. I should have gone to Burger King across the street.

I really love Chipotle and when you're tired and you just want some yummy food and a nice margarita and don't want to struggle for a place to park, this is great stuff. The shredded beef is so good! I like to get it on a burrito bowl.

If I had a choice I would rather go to Taqueria Cancun or El Toro for a burrito, less ambiance but damn good burritos and tacos for cheap. But because I live in the Outer Sunset, where there is no taqueria/mexican joint worth going to around here I was actually happy that Chipotle was opening in nearby Westlake mall. The burritos are quite pricey, not huge (though a good portion), and they charge you for chips and salsa. I miss the Una mas that used to be there where you got free chips and they had a salsa bar. Still their burritos are pretty tasty the carnitas are yum and the spicy salsa has just the right amount of spice.

    (3)
  • mike k.

a shadow of the chipotle in la...the chips were stale...the carnitas was super salty...couldve been a bad day...or just some bad cooks...but judging from other reviews your better off going to another location.

  • punk l.

wow! this truly is the best burrito i have ever had, and this is speaking out of a lot of experience, as burritos are my favorite food. Big plus...they have beer (a must have with a burrito). But mind you this is not a "date place", as there isn't much ambiance, and you go through a line to build your own dish, then pay at the counter. No worries, I go there for some serious eating and good food. The rice isn't the typical re-fried orange stuff, rather a white rice infused with lime and cilantro...delicious and genius. Their lettuce and sour cream are ice cold, and you must include the grilled corn in your burrito or whatever dish you have, as it is amazing...smoky and crunchy. They get really busy, but the line moves fast. As well the whole staff is cheerful and friendly. good job guys!

Most of people opinions about Chipotle Mexican are true. It is a imitation Mexican restaurant. Imagine plain white rice and ingredients such as corn filled in your taco, or burrito. Chipotle caters to people looking for a quick, easy meal. If your looking for authentic taqueria style restaurant, wrong place to eat.

I am a huge fan of Chipotle's burrito bol's (it's their only item I'll eat...). Thus, I have patronized numerous Chipotle locations throughout Northern and Southern CA. That said, this particular Chipotle is probably the worst one I've ever eaten at. The employees are skimp on the ingredients; I literally had to ask the server THREE times to add more rice- each time, she'd put in maybe an additional 20-30 grains. When all was said and done, the 'bol' was about 1/2 full :( Won't be going to this Chipotle again anytime soon.

  • Melanie S.

Do the workers even work at this place?! I gotta say my first experience was a bad one. Came in today with the bf, as we ordered I asked for more meat because they literally only gave me 5 pieces in my burrito bowl, and the Asian lady said more? And she literally gave me only 2 more pieces!! Wtf?? We got over it and moved on. Got our chips and dip with the meal and had a seat. Walking to the seats I could feel the left over crumbs on the floor, looking down it seemed like no one swept. Tables werent wiped down and the garbage was overflowing. All in all the place was a mess. Left it alone sat down to eat i thought maybe it was because it was busy. Ate my food and it wasnt that great, not like at other places, the chips were stale like its been out for days and just felt sick after. Dont get me wrong I've had chipotle before and loved it but not at this location no wonder this place has so many bad reviews... Chipotle food = great usually but not at this location.

Ok so this chipotle sucks!!!! A lot!!!! Seriously its the worst chipotle i have ever been to! I am from the central california and moved to san diego and came to San Francisco, the two previous cities where i lived they all gave bigger burritos and greater quality of food. But up to recently when i moved here and was totally happy and surprised i seen a Chipotle here i at the same time was disappointed. These are small burritos where i can make at home ha! Seriously i make way better guacamole then the ones in Westlake center seriously what a disappointment. They are so stingy with their stuff even though they shouldn't be because they are well known for the "gourmet" burritos. All the time they put half a scoop of rice or less same with their chicken and when it comes to the salsa they overfill their huge spoon... which i don't think is fair. If i ask for another scoop of something they glare at me and make a face where they think i am being rude asking for "extra" of something.

  • G G.

I don't know why I went in there. Chicken burrito was dry. Salsa looked watered down. And they charge for chips!! Why charge for chips when a regular taqueria gives it away for free!! Go to a real burrito place don't patronize this place!! Shut this place down!!

i love chipotle. i don't eat there often only because i'm cheap and i don't like spending 10 bucks for a quick meal. i always get either a chicken or steak burrito and chips & guacamole. it's not the best mexican food ever, but it sure does hit the spot when you're craving it. this particular location is pretty good. it's clean and the service is quick and usually friendly. but that could be cuz they've only been open for a couple of months. i'm just happy that it's only 5 minutes from my apt and that i don't have to go into the city to get my fix.

Good service but that's the only thing good about it, IMHO. My husband & I did some shopping at World Market & Trader Joe's at Westlake last night...saw a Chipotle there, so thought we'd give it a try. We love Mexican food...& we know that this is a chain, so knew not to expect "real" Mexican food like you would get at a local taqueria or restaurant in the Mission...but what a disappointment. It was so bland, tasted like boiled food...There was really nothing Mexican about it..other than the names/styles of food. They warned my husband that his beef in the burrito would be spicy...that was a joke because it was NOT spicy at all...in fact it was gristly. His "grilled corn" salsa that he chose, was like corn straight out of a can. My chicken salad, I selected the "spicy" salsa...could barely taste it. In a desperate attempt for some flavor and heat, we doused our food with a variety of Tabascos that they had at the counter. Tabasco? At a "Mexican Grill?" How about some Cholula, or Tapatio? If you want quick & easy Mexican fast food...which we rarely do unless on the go.... Rubio's or Baja Fresh is better...Even Taco Bell's better in a pinch!

This is by far the worst location I've ever been to (and I'm an avid Chipotle patron). The line is always insane, and there is never enough employees to accommodate the amount of customers, especially during peak hours. The manager at this location clearly doesn't care, since it's been this way since the day they opened their doors. Don't waste your time coming here. The location at Westlake is usually far less busy and is clearly more well-staffed than this one.

I heard a customer in front of me complain about how the girl made a mess with her tacos because there was lettuce and cheese everywhere. The girl rolled her eyes and preceded to call the woman a c*** after she turned around. Disgusting.

First time I went here, I didn't like their customer service and the portion was so small. So I didnt come back for months until today. They still put so little on a bowl. I could have gotten an actual meal from panda express for the same price. Tanforan chipotle puts more on their bowls. Westlake chipotle store sucks :(

Chipotle is pretty standard. Can you really go wrong?? It's basic. However this location is ridiculous. Does it really take 25 minutes to get from the door to the order counter? On a Sunday? With 6 employees behind there? They have only 1 person making the orders. 1 person cooking and 4 people around the register. Come on, really? You guys have a line that wraps around the whole back wall now. And to top it off? You guys move so slow!! Get in contact with the chipotle teams in San Mateo, they're always on point with their service and efficiency.

This spot used to be good. The staff has always been good but their food is inconsistent. I use like their steak burrito/ burrito bowl but their meat itself seems raw. You might as well chew on some gum. I can barely swallow it let alone digest it. Half of the meat i get always end up being chewed then spat back out. No offense but they need to taste their own food. Oh and by the way, learn how to roll a burrito and have everything in there than have them leaking out. I'd rather eat at a genuine Mexican restaurant.

  • Rasela L.

One star because the burrito was decent. The staff here was rude. They each definitely made it clear that in their service that they did NOT want to be there. Facial expressions, snide comments, and the whole vibe of the place... It just sucked. The staff didn't even look like they got along themselves so I shouldn't have expected much but whatever, I'm definitely not coming back.

    (1)
  • Kai D.

They don't know how to treat customers well. They're very rude to customers and their co-workers, especially the trainees. If you wanna hear them talk behind each other's backs, and attitude while they make your food then this is the place. I literally watched the workers talk rudely about the trainee working the register as they were making my order. Felt really bad for the trainee, not a friendly working environment at all.

Say what you want to say about eating a burrito at Chipotle, sure it's not your Mission St. styled burrito, and the flavors are pedestrian. But this place serves a purpose and it serves it well. At least I know what I'm getting and I know the ingredients are fresh. On a busy weeknight, after working long hours, and what not, this place works, especially when it's so close to home and your Mission St taquerias are miles away. The staff here used to be so wonderful. Friendly, efficient, and genuine. But lately the staff seems a bit off. Take for example this past summer. I put in an order for the family. When I got home I found an extra burrito in the bag. I'm not complaining, but I couldn't figure out if it was there because I waited extra long (they forgot the quesadilla, so I had to wait longer) and they were "apologizing", or if some poor person before or after me was missing some food. With that said, tonight I'm truly flummoxed. It'd been another long day, so I decided to put in an online order for the fam. Each person wanted their meal customized, as is how Chipotle's set up -no guac, extra guac, etc. you get the picture. So imagine my surprise, when I got home and took out my burrito to find "Jesus Christ" written on the outer foil, and a picture of a cross drawn in marker. Wth? I can't tell if this is a commentary on the large (customized) order, or if this is someone's joke, or quest to convert me. Huh????????

I'm a very easygoing guest so when I came in to grab a chicken burrito as I usually do, I was informed they were currently out and it would be about 6 minutes before chicken was ready. I wasn't upset and decided to wait. Then afterward, because it's cinco de mayo, I decided to order a margarita as well. I paid and waited for my margarita. I was approached by the manager apprentice, Apolo, and was informed that they didn't have the necessary ingredients to make a margarita (out of citrus juice) so I just told him I'd squirt some lime in there and it would be fine. He gave me my margarita with freshly squeeze like juice and also went above and beyond by refunding my margarita as well as my meal. I was throughly impressed by the level of customer service. Thanks Apolo! :)

This is a poorly run Chipotle. It's more expensive for some reason. They barely give you any meat. And I didn't even get a tray with my eat in orders! Drive to the next one!

No one was at the register to check me out but they called for her. First off, she Didn't greet me when she saw me, I felt like she was rushing to just close out. Second - My change would've literally fell if I didn't catch it and Third - she tossed me the brown bag with my food in it instead of handed it to me. Big girl with the glasses closing on a Saturday - specifically on 4/25/15. Your horrible vibe just ruined my night.

Your average Chipotle location. Although this one always seems to lack ingredients. Pico was out during my last visit and chicken was out this time. I do like the convenient location and plentiful parking. Staff is quick and courteous enough. Lines are incredibly long during normal dining hours, as is expected. Be prepared to wait 30+ min during rush hour.

Seriously wishing I would've read the reviews before coming to eat here. But because my past experiences with other Chipotle locations have been nothing less than perfect, I didn't think it was necessary. Like many who have left a review before me, my number one complaint about this location are the baby sized portions. As I went down the line each server was giving me less than a half of a scoop of rice/chicken/beans/corn, and gave literally 5 strips of grilled peppers. I also barely got any sour cream which caused my burrito to be a bit dry. I had to ask them multiple times to add more to my burrito. After asking and still not getting the regular portion size I usually do, I decided to give up. Considering so many have complained about this issue it's ridiculous that nothing has changed. Sadly, I will not be returning to this location.

Vibe not as warm or friendly here at this location. Some workers look lifeless and move extra slow whether on the line or shredding the barbacoa meat by hand. They're slow with the exception of one guy with glasses on the line. But slow doesn't mean careful. During our 30 minute meal, loud metal pans dropped on the floor three times. Friday night 50 min before closing time and no dressing for their salad for the rest of the evening. And it's their vinaigrette that gives that salad any taste. Well the white rice is tasty. Chips last night were stale and salt was too much and uneven. Also hoping they change out those white tortillas to ones that don't smell like flour to other types that have some taste. Or nutritional value at least. Or how about taste.

I really try to like this place, I really do. Why do I keep coming back here? Probably it's convenient that I live near it but the staff here is pretty ridiculous. There's like 8 of them working the food and none of them are coordinated. I think corporate should consider investing in project management trainee course where you don't burn someone's quesadilla, promise chips and not have it in stock, or take 5 minutes to get salsa you asked for. It's already bad that it's not even real Mexican food.

    (1)
  • Kelsey H.

The service is horrible, I've been ignored more than once now. They run out of food and don't replace it right away. The girls who work there are snarky and rude, they don't care about the customer.

BURRITO OR BURRITO BOWL? I say... why not both? I order the burrito bowl but get the tortilla on the side which is no extra charge. This way.. you can simply scoop your food from the bowl onto the tortilla to make your own burrito and also have enough for a the bowl to eat. I like Chipotle because it's fast and a healthier choice compared to other fast food chains. However I think the quality is better at taquerias. However, if you're in need of a fast meal, I think Chipotle does it, but the food her is just average to me.

Good service, not too crowded at all and definitely enough space to sit down and eat. Plenty of parking since it's a huge plaza. Food was good and fresh. Definitely better than some other chipotles I have been too. Very pleasant chipotle, I will keep coming here when I shop in Westlake!

Raw chicken!!! Completely unacceptable. I ordered 3 burrito bowls and 1 burrito. You cannot serve raw chicken. I served my family this. It is a health hazard. I am beyond furious. I called the manager and let her know so other patrons would not be served raw chicken. She said that she would compensate my meal, but damage is done. I will not be visiting this specific chain ever again. My family consumed a portion of their meal already. If they get sick, this is on your establishment.

After living in the neighborhood for a few months I give this place a solid 4 stars. It's my go-to quick fix in an area with mostly unhealthy options. I can ease my guilt from not cooking by feeding my son beans & veggies. And the sofritas is a solid vegetarian option. I'm still mad that they put the cheese on at the end with the salsas because it stays cold BUT I guess that's a complaint for the higher ups. I usually take my burrito home & toast it on the comal anyways.

As someone who frequents chipotle fairly often, this one in particular falls far below the standards which I am accustomed to. One employee in particular, who I was surprised to find out is the manager: Marvel, is not only extremely unfriendly (I am not one to judge... We all have bad days I get it), but she is also ridiculously stingy as if chipotle was going to run out of food in the middle of the day. I understand chipotle isn't a five star restaurant, it's an affordable and quick place to get some decent Mexican-American food... But they seriously need to do something about their customer service and emphasize the importance of a customer's experience.

I was craving chipotle after watching a movie at Century and my friend drove over here. I was desperately needing a burrito bowl fix and was looking forward to chow it all down once I had a seat. However what i noticed was that they only gave me a small scoop of rice, beans, and corn. The workers there don't know how to be generous with their portions. Yes I know I could've asked them to put more while they were serving my bowl but at that point I was starving and I just didn't care anymore. As I chowed through the contents of the bowl, the steak was the hardest to chew through. I found their steak pieces to be too big and too hard to chew. Some of the pieces got to be so difficult on my mouth and started to make my jaw ache that I had to getup and run over to the garbage can to spit it out. Overall the place wasn't too bad, their potions aren't that great but I get that I could've asked them to add in more. But what really threw me off was the big chunks of steak that seemed a bit undercooked and difficult to chew!

I love Chipotle not because their ingredients remind of authentic Mexican flavors like those straight from the kitchen of my friend's family parties where his old time Mexican grandmother is the maestro to an orchestra of Latin flavors playing a tune of aromatic symphony for an audience whose appetite is anything but dainty. Chipotle should take after those 20 dollar "designer style" (there's Armani style, Prada style, Burberry style, etc. and labeled as such) sunglasses you always see at the mall or on the streets... rather than labeling themselves Mexican Grill as though they are the real deal, they would probably get better ratings if their store front was labeled "CHIPOTLE - Mexican STYLE Grill". That way no one can complain about how unauthentic the food is because what you see is what you will get... Mexican STYLE food but not quite Mexican. So what do I really love about Chipotle (NOT SO) Mexican Grill. The fact that they always use fresh ingredients, chopped and grilled fresh, keeps me coming back for that supposed quick easy bite....... wait for it....... when there isn't a line so long it feels like I'm waiting to get on the Grizzly ride when it first came out at Great America. Off topic: For those of you who know about Grizzly... how are you enjoying your thirties? Message me and tell me about it. I'm loving every moment of it! Back on topic: Chipotle is set up to be a fast food joint served fresh with fresh ingredients but sometimes it feels like I should walk around the corner instead to Tani's kitchen and endure possibly the same wait time for one of their scarce seats to their unpretentious delicious Japanese comfort food. Oh wait... gotta remind myself this is a review for Chipotle before I go off on how much I love Tani's. Where did I leave off... ah yes... Fresh ingredients. That's why I come back to Chipotle even though the line can be ridiculously long, with a slow assembly line of service, and burritos wrapped so poorly like the one I had today where the tortilla was breaking apart before I even got to bite into it, causing a waterfall of guac and black beans to make the saying "finger licking good" relevant to my lunch. Guess wrapping up all the goods with a large tortilla for an easy on-the-go bite didn't serve its purpose around this part of town... BUT at least the ingredients are fresh. I've been to Chipotles with quicker and better service. If you are looking for Mexican food you are at the wrong place. It wouldn't be too far off to from the truth if it was called "Chipotle - American Grill - (fine print) but you get tortillas... now it's Mexcan." BOOM!!! Hey, but at least the ingredients are... Ok ok... you guys get the point. 2 stars for this one here at Westlake.

Ordered a burrito bowl with tortilla on the side. Three stars because I like chipotle's burrito bowl and because the cashier was friendly and in a good mood. Not four or five stars because the ones helping me make my bowl looked unfriendly and as if them hated their job. I don't want to see unhappy people when I come in for food. Also, the rice portion and meat portion was much smaller than I remembered; lightweight disappointed.

came here right before closing. I ordered the carnitas bowl and the rice was clumped together in little cubes and everything was cold.. the service is great, they're fast and give you a good amount of everything. but the only thing good in that bowl was the guac. I like the Stonestown location better.

This place is a cluster fuck of a mess. I came here with my daughter after her volleyball game. We were over looked 3 times by the staff, ignoring us and proceeded to help the 3 customers behind us. The lack of communication in their jobs was the only reason the realized they skipped us. While trying to figure out what order was ours, I told them I was still waiting to be served. The 3 customers were embarrassed for the staff and apologized. At least I got that from them. When I finally ordered my food and paid, I asked the cashier if my quesadilla was in the bag, twice. She checked and told me yes. Low and behold, I get home to feed my other daughter and her quesadilla is nowhere to be found. I called and I was told when ordering a quesadilla it takes about 5 minutes to be steamed. I told the person on the phone i know that which is why I asked if it was in the bag. I asked to speak to a manager to inform them off my experience. She asked if I'd like a store credit or to done pick up the food. Mind you, at this point it was already 8:30 and my kids had school the next day. I told her no, I want a refund. She then told me I had to go back so they could swipe my card. HORSE SHIT. I've worked in retail long enough as a kid to know you can manually type in the card. Come on!!!! when the manager finally agreed to type my card in for my refund, she told me my card was declined..... FOR A REFUND. I asked how that was possible since it was a refund. She read the screen on the cc machine which said invalid account number, meaning, she typed it in wrong and my card was not declined for a refund!!! Jesus Joseph and Mary..... Save yourself the headache and keep your sanity. Go to Colma to get your fix.

I'm a bit ashamed to say that I'm a regular here, given that it is what it is, but I live in the neighborhood and it's one of the better options for cheap food in the Westlake Shopping Center. The portions are generous and for the most part the ingredients are what you'd expect. It gets pretty busy in here and parking can be a nightmare during busier times. I've actually had some very positive experiences with the staff over the years, although you occasionally get the new person who didn't pay attention in burrito-rolling training. I do like that there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating if I'm too hungry or lazy to take my burrito bowl home. I consider it a successful visit if there are no unpleasant surprises because, hey... it's Chipotle.

Love chipotle! This location seems to have more ample seating and a bigger lot than the one by serramonte. We has to wait 5 minutes because they were low on chicken but they gave us free drinks. Really friendly staff - super nice to us. I've noticed that no chipotles seem to have diaper changing stations...

Love the food like this one the most because they don't short you like all the others but the the crew working tonight we're shady. Just because it's 930 and it's a line the guy tells me I should order something else because he just finished cleaning. Smh then the woman worker came to the rescue and said I'll handle them and took care of me and the line. Good job it would have been 1 star if it wasn't for her

Second Yelp review ever (I did, however, write reviews for a newsmagazine in high school, so I'm not necessarily a total noob at this), and it's for another Chipotle. I come to this location on my lunch break at work quite often, and every experience I've had has been exactly what I've expected. Yes, the lines can be really, really, ridiculously long, but the crew and management handles it well, and every time I stepped to the counter to place my order after a 15-20 minute wait, they've handled my order well. I also make use of Chipotle's app to order ahead so I'm not wasting 20 minutes of my lunch standing in line. I'll always place my order about 30-45 minutes before I come in to pick up, and sometimes I'll arrive 5 minutes early. Whenever I arrive, whether it be on time or 5 minutes early, I walk in and see the crew preparing my order, which definitely means the food won't be sitting for very long after it's all put together. Total time I spend before eating? About 4 minutes, 7 at most if they're making my burrito when I walk in. Now, this is Chipotle. The food is good, but it's not a 5-diamond gourmet meal. It's a Chipotle. It's good, quality fast food for people who've reached the point in their lives where their body can't process Taco Bell anymore. 5-stars merely for the crew, for putting up with extremely long lines, sometimes really shitty people, and for always taking care of whatever I need.

Food is good. But when did they start getting sting? I hate having to ask for a little extra rice, even though I don't get much of anything else. On top of that now I have to hear "I can only put so much rice on that" lame.

This location needs some serious help when it comes to staffing and/or training; whatever management is doing, it's not working. I've come in here three times and each time you would think time had stopped or someone hit the pause button on life. They are soooooo sloooooow here. I've seen up to five people on the line making food (why so many people??), then someone will step away to grab something from the back table, no one steps in to keep things moving, and orders begin to stack up. The communication between them is poor and they are inconsistent with the preparation of the food. It's Chipotle, so they'll always have business. I'll just start going to another one because this one needs help.

I'm not generally one to write bad reviews I try to just give credit where credit is due, but this particular chipotle is a shit show. I've been here at least 5-10 times because it's the closest to my house, but the staff is awful! They are always confused they are THE SLOWEST, and by the time the food gets to the register the ringer never seems to know who's food is who's. They also are terrible at replenishing things in the floor the soda machine is often out of ice and they run out of forks and napkins often as well. It's annoying, I need to remember to not go to this location .

Bottom line you cant use 2 coupons at the same time. Even though the other 7 members of my family have done so at random times. Got the Harvest festival coupon for a free entree and drink. Also a guac and chip coupon from the same festival. They said you could use them together. And my whole family has. Its free food so im not actually complaining. Just wished the cashiers were consistent.

Ok, let me first start off by saying, I like Chipotle, but this location needs work. It had ran out of tortillas, multiple soda pumps out, no salsa and when I ask for no sour cream, I am saying 'NO SOUR CREAM'. I get that mistakes can be made, but this is just carelessness. Go to another location.

One server performed exceptionally well and another showed poor customer service, moved very slow, and showed little interest about the long line that went back to the door. Food great as always but if you can take your time and really capitalize on how fast it is to get your food at chipotle since that's what people love most about the restaurant that would be great

10-30/14 Same in deed... I went at 2:30 and line was 2 people and i got the streak burrito bowl and the amount was AGAIN GENEROUS so i had to tip them $2 again! I would tip more but im not that rich. Wish their names are shown so I can grade each of them that put food on my plate! note: IF PORTIONS ARE GENEROUS AGIAN NEXT TIME I WILL DEFINITELY TIP AGAIN AND YOU GUYS SHOULD TOO! I must say that it seems like if u eat in they do give u more food it seems. I went at around 6 pm sat 6/28/14 and seems like it wasnt that business too. I even gave them $2 tips since they dont skimp as much on the portions compared to other chipotles. Hopefully next time will be the same lol.

Food is super good!! Fresh ingredients so i have no complaints about the quality. The staff however is hit or miss. Interesting since they all stand next to each other and act as an assembly line. You would think all of them would have the same welcoming personality. Sure enough, NOT! One or two look like they've been working for two days straight and have an attitude (females). Males however, are nice and friendly. Who knows!

The absolute worst. I gave these guys the benefit of the doubt when it was busy but on a day when it wasn't busy at all, they still are oblivious of my online order when I arrive to pick it up. This is the FOURTH TIME. They were also out of salsa today and didn't even bother to call me about it. So I came there thinking I would get salsa. It's not a big deal if they would have simply called me in advance. It's just the principle of the matter. So anyways I go home and see that there is literally a half portion of my order. Like it was just took up only half of the bowl. I ordered veggie so you can see how that was. PLUS I didn't even get the veggies. What a joke.

I work right around the corner from this place. I usually bring a lunch but when I don't this is my go to place. I love the food here. I like the chicken salad, no beans or rice and with fajita style peppers and onions. Very healthy.

The host Maria is very efficient and friendly. Great customer service. Along with the other staff which I couldn't see their names. Over all, service is great, foods great. Nice change for lunch sometimes. The medium hot sauce is just perfect so u can still taste the rest of the food.

I walked into this place today and the line was long, ok, I'll wait. I've been here a few times and the food was good and the place friendly. On the contrary, the employees failed today! I didn't mind the long line, heck, it's a Saturday, but the staff was SLOW and while observing they didn't seem very eager in taking customer orders; you know the people, us, that help pay for their wages. When it was my turn to order, I asked for two crispy tacos with chicken. When I requested bell peppers, the employee put two skimpy slices of peppers on one taco. I asked her to add a few more pieces and she acted as if was extra work for her; you know - put out attitude. I didn't think that Chipotle would go broke with this small request. For a split moment, I wanted to leave, but I was too hungry and after waiting a long time... By the time I paid for my food, I searched for a clean table and none to be found. I asked the cashier if she could get someone to clean the tables, she smiled and IGNORED me. You know, I thought maybe today they are short handed - there are exceptions? But while in line waiting to ordered, I noticed a group of Chipotle employees sitting at a table discussing who knows what... By the time I sat down to eat, they were still seated at the table, not one of them got up to help out the staff. A shout out to the owners of Chipotle at Westlake, you should view your eye security, you know the one right over the register and observe your employee conduct. As you know the attitude of your employees can MAKE YOU OR BREAK YOU. The gavel is down on this place!

This chipotle is probably the next one here near or in Daly City. Give good portions, tastes fresh, delicious, & the spot is a good place to have it. A great place to grab a bite to eat or sit in before or after shopping or even after the gym if your looking for a healthier place to get a post workout meal. Plenty of parking & overall a nice place to get some great food. It's not original Mexican cuisine, but has that American style to it to make it different from the taquerias. So if your expecting the Mexican flavor I would go somewhere else, but this is still a good alternative.

I came here about 8:30 on a Saturday night. They were about of white rice, so the server offered everyone brown rice. I feel that with such a small amount of ingredients in circulation on the menu, it would be almost impossible to run out of a single ingredient. But, clearly, I was wrong. I took the brown rice, (which they were also running low on, and could tell he was rationing it out), along with, grilled chicken, corn salsa, cheese, and hot sauce. My burrito was not complete. The thing I dislike the most about Chipotle, aside from their poor burrito wrapping skills, is the fact that they offer cheese last. Cheese should be offered first in order for it to melt. When you put cheese on last, one side of the burrito is cold. No one likes a cold burrito.

Chipotle... high quality fast food? Is there such a thing? I had the chicken bowl. Quite a delicious dish. They make the chicken really nicely. Only thing I don't like about this location is the lines get long and they're slower than any other Chipotle I have gone to.

Well the corporate food values are good, and if you select wisely, you can get a low-carb version of their burrito in a bowl, which is what my wife and I did. We especially liked the fact that you can select what they will throw into the bowl, so if you're trying to avoid cheese or grains, or whatever, you can have them leave it out. I must say they did a decent job and though not the greatest digs to have a meal in, it was a relatively healthy Mexican-style salad in a bowl that was a relatively healthy selection, given the other food choices at this location.

I don't normally go to chipotle but I was hungry and didn't want a burger from nations. To my surprise, I had a good experience here. A line of ladies helped me out without all the goofing off I see at most chipotle restaurants. I get that it gets boring but when I wana order be ready for me. Anyways, these girls were fast friendly and didn't skimp me of ingredients. 5 stars for them!

Well, Hawaii doesn't have any Chipotle franchises here so this was my first time eating at one. My initial reaction, Ehhh. The food was OK and seemed decently fresh, but I felt like I was on a production line full of robotic arms dishing out mexican stuff on paper plates. You order what type of food you want; Burrito, Bowl, Taco, etc. They put stuff in a bowl, tortilla, taco shell, etc. and pass it down the line to the next server, who piles on what ever else you want. I should mention that even though they ask which toppings you want, if you say "can you put a bit more hot salsa on there?" they make like they don't hear you and put the exact same amount as the person before you and the person after you gets. All the while not making eye contact the entire time then saying "NEXT". It's like they're robots just going through the motions, over, and over, and over, and over again. Come to think of it, that would actually be pretty cool if the servers all started doing the robot dance while serving food, that might get an extra star from yelpers and maybe a spot in Franchise Weekly eMagazine or something...who knows; it would at least be entertaining. Overall about the food, it was definitely OK so if I'm in the need for an amercanized mexican bowl of ingredients that's portioned using psuedo high-tech serving techniques, then I'd consider coming back...(in disguise that is.)

Do NOT eat here! Normally I love Chipotle but my housemate just ordered a burrito bowl AND ATE A LIVE COCKROACH. I will post the picture. She didn't realize it until she saw HALF A COCKROACH in her bowl. That is nasty. Do I need to say more? Trust me, I will send that picture to corporate Chipotle as well as whoever in the city of Daly City handles food inspections.

nothing special. but a quick fix for people who are starving and do not want to go eat at burger king or other fast food places. The service is always quick even when the lines get ridiculously long during peak hours. Most of the time, when the service seems slow, it is because of a slow customer, not because of the employee. However, their portions and cooked food quality is never consistent. There are times when you get minute portions and other times when you get way too much portions. Sometimes the chicken does not taste as good for some reason. The servers are always friendly and patient for the most part.

I called 15 min before they closed. And a lovely lady named Ashley picked up and said as long as I'm here before they close she'll have my order ready for me. Her attitude was on point, knowing that Chipotle always gets crazy busy and I can imagine how bad they would want to just close down the stations and leave! I arrived 5 min before they closed and she didn't expect me till 10 however they were able to put my order together quickly. A nice gentleman was humble enough to chat with me but he had to leave then a guy name David made this super unique last min order taco for me. He said people don't normally order it so I assume it was his special. Guys! If you're reading this, y'all are killing it with customer service! I worked all fields of retail & now in the coffee industry and know this, I know how it feels to take orders during final countdown! Awesome place. Not a chipotle regular but they definitely made me want to return again!!!

Love the food but the service in this location really needs improvement. Again I have to wait in line for almost 20 minutes to be able to order my food. Hope they see this because they will certainly loose business.

Horrible service, they messed up my order and Said they would have it out immediately, they must have made 10 new orders before they even looked at mine... Horrible

Can't go wrong with chipotle's burrito bowl + tortilla on the side.

My affair with Chipotle is officially over. Over priced. Taste like crap now. Bitter burnt chicken but there were pieces that seemed under cook (HUH?). Super chewy beef. Avacado stem (or something hard) in the guacamole. I'm writing this review w/a terrible tummy ache.

My mouth was still in shock after eating a burrito from here recently. Normally, the burritos from Chipotle at this location are gigantic, and bland, which I can handle. However my most recent sampling was comically small and over-folded. While this was amusing to look at, and the real lack of salsa, rice and toppings wasn't going to starve me out, the meat is when things went wrong. Typically carnitas are really hard to screw up. But after the firs bite of today's lunch, my mouth was begging for mercy from the explosion of something so over-salted that it can only be intentional sabotage or a gross breakdown in their cooking process. There is no way that anyone leading a grill could taste this carnitas and then serve it without intending to scare people off. There was so much salt on this meat, that I almost didn't notice the other part of my mouth begging me to stop ingesting handfuls of black pepper. I enjoy spicy food, but spiced with some sort of reason or plan or recipe. This was either a blatant mistake of someone putting 10x the salt and pepper as the recipe called for, or someone behind that counter aggressively hates his job and all potential customers. There was no joy in this food, only anger and a desire to ruin someone's day. What gives workers of the Westlake Chipotle? Is there someone there who is intentionally trying to ruin everyone's lunch?

#Fail with staff!! Asian buff guy and Some other chick are clearly there to work and socialize with other coworkers than taking care of customers. My fiancé had asked for no cheese due to allergies and a certain employee had completely disregarded it because she was too busy talking with another coworker about other things. This just happened around 4pm. Yelping on his behalf.

I love this chipotle! I have to say, every time I go to this location, they always make my food perfectly! My favorite right now is their salad with their vinaigrette dressing! sooooo good and I definitely recommend it! The only problem with this chipotle is they do run out of chips fast. But overall, it is a great place to eat at!

Well i literally left this place 10 mins ago and I must say their service is SHIT. First the girl looked like she hated her job, and she gave my bf chicken instead of steak. Second, I love salsa. I asked for 3 at first, but I was being indecisive and asked my bf if I should get 4. The guy working said "I would prefer you get 3." Excuse me??! Don't f with me when I'm hungry. the cashier gave me staled chips. Booooo .

This Chipotle serves ALCOHOL. That was probably the main highlight. Came in on Friday and grabbed dinner around 8pm. Line wasn't too long. i ordered the queseritto with steak. Boy, I felt like I got ripped off. I got the smallest scoop of rice ever and the meat was very very small portion. Unfortunately, I got someone who was super stingy and didn't get much out of my burrito. I was extremely disappointed. Seriously, stop shortening the portions.

Best Chipotle in SF. Nice staff. Perfect portions. They are always busy but they sure move the line.

This location has gotten progressively worse over the last two years. Usually there's something they've forgotten to re-cook - the last two times I went there it was the pepper/onion veggie mix and tonight it was the chicken...well I actually did get the chicken after a wait but it wasn't thoroughly cooked so I had to throw out my meal. I'm calling it quits on this place. The management should wake up and observe what their staff is doing. There were literally 8 people working the 6PM shift and they still were mucking up other orders left and right. Customer service has been consistently bad here. There are a few good workers, but they are dragged down by the vaster majority of the employees who are consistently not on the ball. It's super-obvious Chipotle wants to hire young and cheap but the servers then wind up being inept and dispassionate. On my receipt it gave a slogan "Chipotle: gourmet without attitude" - that gave me a good laugh. It's not anything close to gourmet and the West Lake location serves you with plenty of lackluster attitude!

Being a San Francisco native, I have very high standards for what constitutes a good burrito. That said, this Chipotle is just okay. If you have a craving for a burrito in this area, you don't have many options. The food here is decent. The ingredients were fresh and I like that you have the option of choosing brown rice for your burrito. The option of adding brown rice totally cancels out my gluttonous request to add sour cream and guacamole, right? Right?! Well...maybe not, but if I'm going to have a caloric bomb like a burrito, I want options dammit. I've had better Mexican food but I've also had much worse. This falls in the middle.

-3 stars because this is the wackest chipotle I've ever been to. Got skimped hella hard on my burrito bowl, there was barely anything in it!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
