New hotel centrally located to LAX, Santa Monica, Venice Beach, Culver City, downtown and not far from West Hollywood. I didn't like that you had to pay $10 for self parking. I understand paying for parking when space is a premium but there was a huge parking lot with lots of space. Breakfast was nice but kinda pricy.

This is a decent place to stay and better equipped for business travel than the Marina del Rey Marriott. The rooms are spacious and the internet is free. Make plans to eat out, the menu here is not very interesting. Bring earplugs. It's right beside the highway so you hear every truck and siren 24/7. The doors don't reach the floor so every time someone along the hallway opens and closes their room door it makes quite a lot of noise. I put a towel in front of the door and it was a bit better.

We can always count on the Marriott hotel family on providing consistent service and clean, comfortable rooms. But this Courtyard is exceptional because Tracy (front desk) and Michael give this hotel heart. They are genuinely warm, caring and welcome you with their smiles and take care of you the entire stay. I almost forgot that this was a business trip because they made it feel like home. This is the first time we've stayed at the Culver City Courtyard, but we look forward to returning here. They always made sure that I got great transportation to wherever I needed to go. I especially appreciated their making arrangements with Fady Hermina, Easy Safe Shuttle whose calm driving and intelligent wit made for an enjoyable commute in LA traffic. It's when you can do the things we take for granted, but add heart, thoughtfulness and kindness that you bring spectacular into the mundane and add joy to humanity. Thank you Tracy, Michael and Fady!

Courtyard Los Angeles Westside is a great place to crash near Venice and Santa Monica, just remember to bring your medical marijuana card. I am a Marriott Rewards Member thanks to work and I occasionally use points for weekends full of drunken debauchery which is how I ended up at this hotel. The beds are soft, the pillows are in good shape and the lobby is actually really nice. It even features a bar offering decent food open until late. Oh, and they keep the rooms really clean. I love that. The parking is ample and $15.00 a night with in and out privleges. Uber drivers can get easily confused where you are so be sure to text them the name of the hotel as I learned. Another oddity is that the hotel smells like weed literally all day and night. Every floor is weeded the hell out. Deal breaker? No. But it gets old constantly smelling El Bluntadore charring the shrubs 24/7. That said, it is on top of the 405 and within striking distance of all of LA's westside, so I will probably end up there again soon.

PROS Bed and pillows are comfortable. Paul Mitchell Shampoo and Conditioner Closet with hangers, iron and board Blow dryer CONS Facial bar soap--do not use, it irritated my skin. Window treatments are too short, sunlight will wake you up. FIRE ALARM TESTING AT 9am?!! I AM ON VACATION!! I should've been informed at check in.

2 the biggest downfall was the frustration of the parking lot. context: this is marriotts "budget" hotel and ive stayed at hundreds of them room was fine and typical courtyard. (if you want a completely upgraded courtyard experience, go to the courtyard marriott irvine spectrum, and it'll blow your mind how its a freakin courtyard anyways room was fine but what was annoying was how the flat screen was not visible from the right side of the room because the closet sticks out so much you can't see it. its mounted to the wall. its a small thing but not typical of what ive seen at other marriotts. staff was super friendly parking lot was a joke. you have to swipe your card to get out and it never worked each day i was there. i asked the staff each time and they said i just have to buzz and of course they dont answer half the time because they may be short staffed. then of course you are paging the front desk repeatedly from the gate speaking of which, i called front desk 2 times and gave up after calling several times, minutes apart, because no one answered i dont expect much from a courtyard but the tv issue and parking lot frustrations gave it a deserving 2

This is reviewing the HOTEL ONLY! ROOM (12th Floor - King Room) FRIDGE (Yes) MICROWAVE (No) COFFEE POT (Yes) IRON & BOARD (Yes) TV (LG 37" LCD TV) DESK (Yes) COUCH (Yes) FOLD OUT BED (Yes) INTERNET (Free WiFi/Wired) BUSINESS CENTER (Yes) FITNESS CENTER (Yes) POOL/JACUZZI (Yes/Yes) PARKING (Free Lot?) RATE (February, 2014 - $189/night) PROS **DirecTV Box You actually get a DirecTV box bolted below the TV - meaning you get to browse channels via a guide! **Access To TV Inputs The DirecTV inputs to the TV with regular RCA, but you have a couple HDMI and VGA inputs available too if you want to hook up an outside device. In my room, my remote was busted, so I couldn't change the input. I'm thinking this is a fluke. Just to tell the story, though, I was moving my TV and accidentally hit the channel Up button, which took me out of TV/Video...and with a busted remote, I couldn't restore my DirecTV! Oh well, I was just staying for 1 night. **So Much POWAHH! (Outlets) While they're not all in the most convenient spots, you have access to 10 outlets without having to move a single piece of furniture! And that's not counting the couple in the bathroom. CONS **Not HD! The TV itself supports HD, but, as I said earlier, the DirecTV box is connected via simple RCA, which is analog and not digital. No HDTV here, unfortunately. Even if you had your own cables, the DirecTV box only outputs RCA, S-Video, and RF. Bummer. OTHER NOTES **No Window Screen! I was on the 12th (top) floor. I opened the window and saw that I had simple window latches to lock the window. Normally in tall hotel buildings, they screw in metal blocks to stop you from opening the window very wide, or the windows don't open, and they have these little vents that you open for outside air. I imagine these are in place so you don't try to (or accidentally) jump out and fall to your death. Well, once you pop open those latches, the window opens all the way (sideways), so there's nothing stopping you from jumping! Anyway, just a word to all you parents out there with curious children.

Terrible customer service by Kenya (overnight desk clerk). She is rude, will not listen, wants to talk over the guest, and her behavior is unacceptable. I would strongly suggest the GM, Ron Hurst, carefully evaluate who he has representing his hotel at any point during the day or night.

I've just about lived here at times over the past three years. It's close to my LA office, so it's incredibly convenient for me. Close to beaches ($7 uber to Venice!) and LAX. In all general terms of a hotel, this place should be a 3. But, for what it lacks in overall charm, it makes up for in other spots and the price is reasonable when you're thinking LA hotels. * Service is always top notch. Can't say that enough, especially in the hotel bar -- I've often had another glass of wine being put down in front of me as I'm finishing the one in my hand. Well done, sir, well done. * Rooms are clean, bed is comfy, water is hot and the internet does what it needs to do. Really like their two-room suites, too. Tons of space to throw my stuff everywhere and pretend I'm home. * Food is OK for what it is, plus there are several spots within walking distance if you want something different. Salmon is my favorite; it's actually pretty good for the price. Wine list could use some love, but the snob in me always finds something that will work. * Lots of parking. Feels somewhat secure. At least my car hasn't been broken in here before. They do charge (I think it's $10 a night). Easy in, easy out. They've recently done a ton of renovations downstairs which have given it a more modern look/feel on the inside. Happy with it. I shall continue to return and pile up the Marriott points.
(4)MJ A.
The walls in this Courtyard are unfortunately very thin. I had the opportunity to listen in to an entire conversation in the room next door that eventually led me to the lobby downstairs to request another room. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful, and moved me to another room immediately on the same floor. 5 stars for the staff here, but the thin walls are a huge drawback given that sound proofing should be a basic element when constructing a hotel. Also, if you are on the freeway side, be prepared for the endless noise of traffic. I welcome this as white noise however since I would rather not listen in to the "activity" going on next door. Pop your Ambien early and all should be well.
(3)Denise R.
I recently stayed there just to get away and finish up some work. My stay was so pleasant! It's quiet, beds are comfy and very clean rooms. It was exactly what I needed to get some zzzz's and wake up energized to finish up some work. All I asked for is a comfy bed, cable tv to watch all the housewives shows and wifi to get my work done and I found what I was looking :)
(5)Rebecca E.
Update to other yelpers: 1) parking is $15/day no validation. 2) hotel is under main lobby renovation 3) Ask for room AWAY from highway. Traffic noise all night long. 4) nice hot tub for one or two ppl, but not big enough for 3 strangers. 5) breakfast is $15 a day!! 6) still no microwaves. March 10-14, 2014.
(3)Chrisy C.
Letitia in the catering department for all your special events needs. She helped me from beginning to end and it turned out great. The food and staff were amazing! Easy process and worth every penny for the fabulous time we had!!!
(5)Judy P.
The rooms are great but the service needs a facelift. Especially in accounting. I needed my invoice and Christine who was in accounting kept spelling my name wrong and proceeded to try to correct me. She asked me for my last name, and when I gave it to her she would respond with my first name and when I told her that wasn't my last name she proceeded to have the last word. She couldn't find me and had an attitude of not wanting to help me and in fact asked if I even stayed with them. After 15 minutes of back and forth it was because she didn't spelled my name correctly. Talk about frustration. They need to train their people on better hospitality and service and not try to correct their customers or always have the last word.
(1)Barbara T.
It's well located, close to a couple of shops etc... The staff was friendly. They provide shuttle to lax but it's $25 ! The bathrooms are small and the bedroom was so hot, so we turned the ac on and it's one loud AC!! Not pleasant. I was a little irritated that they don't provide any bfast room service. U have to go downstairs and get Starbucks or their buffet for $15. It's close to the airport and 4 miles from Venice beach. The room was clean. It's an ok hotel I would say.

Major renovation in progress late March (probably done by now), I immediately felt a hotel "W" vibe. A little bit retro, a little bit chi-chi, definitely cool. Met up with a friend residing here for the weekend to interpret for a real, honest to God crime scene investigator. Sorry, wasn't privy to the details, confidentiality you know but it musta been a big deal as my friend's services don't come cheap. What wasn't cheap either was parking to meet my pal for dinner. Our intent was to leave my car and walk to dine at either the Howard Hughes Center or the Westfield Mall, where we finally ate yelp.com/biz/creme-de-la… Friend met me in the lobby and was ready to truck, said the room was AWESOME. Sight unseen, taking my bud's word, CSI interpreters don't lie! I asked the concierge if I should pay for parking now or later. Now would be fine, $15. What? Jaw fell to floor. Without missing a beat, realizing my friend was a guest, she reduced it to $8, signed off onto my friend's tab. Four stars for fast thinking graciousness and as my friend confirmed not a bad place to stay.
(4)Jenn L.
I am never disappointed when I stay at any Marriott owned hotels. The Courtyard was a nice comfy hotel When you enter you are greeted by friendly staff, just like all of the other Marriotts. The parking is not that efficient but not bad enough to dock any stars on the stay They did say overnight parking was $15, but it ended up being free the night I stayed. Maybe bc it was Halloween? It was a nice glitch if it was :) The rooms are a good size, we opted for the two queen beds. The beds were very comfy and felt almost like it was a temperpedic bed. There were a total of 4 people in the room and it was spacious enough to not be too crowded. And extra points for a fridge in the room. I actually really enjoyed the lower level they had. The one by the gym, they have a couch and table, the perfect place to lounge if you don't want to be in your room but you want to be away from the crowd of the lobby.
(5)Sunny S.
This place has been good to me. The room still has that sharp, clean, brand new look. The decor consists of clean, minimalist shapes softened by earthy colors. In my room, there was a desk that had another desk underneath that pulls out to give you tons of workspace. Perfect for doing work that requires long nights and spreading out lots of documents and electronic devices. I asked for a quiet room - which I also do when I book other hotels - but the staff at this Marriott actually read it and did something. The lady at concierge desk said, "We got you a room on the opposite side of the freeway. We want you to do well on your exam." Seriously, nobody ever talks like that anymore. But every time I walked across the lobby - even if I was in a hurry - somebody would catch my eye and give a big, happy greeting.
(5)Matthew James R.
The staff was very friendly. The accomodations were nice...except for the initial smell of the room upon entry. A mix between fart and a general butt smell. Not okay. Lucky for me, I packed some cologne. Room number 315 now smells like Yves St. Laurent l'homme. YOUR WELCOME! ;) The reason for the still FIVE STAR review is what happened after I left. I had to check out a little prematurely(which happens to alot of guys) and had forgotten some items in the room. My electric toothbrush, my comb, and my deoderant. I called the next day after a long flight back home. They located the items and shipped them to me at no expense! What!?!?!?!?!? I am a very happy camper and for that reason I will return each and every time that I have to stay near the airport. Thanks to Oscar in housekeeping for making this experience a FIVE STAR one.
(5)Summer A.
Hotel was great for the price point. Clean, updated hotel, well maintained, courteous staff. There's not really anything to do within walking distance, but plenty within a short drive. Worth the drive to save money compared to pricey beach hotels. The parking lot requires you to take a ticket to enter the lot, and turn the ticket in to the front desk to pay. No one monitoring the gate in or out. I think I "forgot" to tell the front desk I owed them $15/day for parking. Whoops. Booked hotel through hotels.com , was charged through the website accordingly. Two days after checkout, I received room charges through the hotel also. After two days on the phone, everything was fixed. No explanation for the charges or any consolation for the inconvenience. Now I don't feel so bad about not paying for parking...
(3)Jane C.
Everything (staff, accommodations,) was wonderful. The ONLY reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the air contraption under the window was loud.
(4)Megan T.
Everyone was very friendly once we walked through the doors. Clean rooms, bar and lounge downstairs, all the fixings! The only negative thing about my stay here was the fact that I got locked out of my room and I had to pee really bad. My room keep kept getting denied and it was really weird so I had to go down to the front desk and ask them to check my card.
(4)Victoria R.
I am usually extremely loyal to the Hilton brand, but I was recently made a reservation here for a work trip. I was delighted to see how attentive the staff was. I checked in late - practically in the middle of the night - and still I received excellent service at their desk. The host was nice enough to assist with my parking pass and promptly had be on my way up to my room in moments. The room itself was gorgeous, newly renovated, very clean, on the 11th floor and close to the elevators without being noisy. Housekeeping was very attentive to details each day, and I really enjoyed the space and small perks (flatscreen, free wifi, fridge) that the room offered. Comfortable bed, lovely couch, plenty of space. I just may have to stay at a Marriott again.
(5)Paul K.
great sleeping experience. rooms are clean and nicely maintained including the lobby and other common areas. expected upgraded room when knowing that they offen do for Marriott reward members but not this time. but nonetheless, our room was nicely decorated and comfy. receptionists were not the friendliest staffs in the world. they charge $ 15 per person for breakfast and no discounts again for reward members which I thought was too expensive when many others offer them for free. yet cafe was packed with some groups of travelers with no seats to be found. we chose ihop near by.

Pool / Hottub Mall/Cvs Staff are A+ I love this place , i always go here Very accommodating during the remodeling process aswell Love the upgrades

I like staying at Courtyards, but too often, they're like a bawx of chawkolate. This one is a gem. It's definitely one of the nicer Courtyards I've stayed at. The front desk check in was easy and quick. The staff was very accomodating. I'm guessing this location was recently renovated because it definitely seemed a bit more updated than others I've stayed at. There was a restaurant in the lobby, not sure if any alcohol was available so it wasn't a true hotel bar. My only complaint is that in this location, they should do away with the $12 for self parking deal. It's not like it's some structure or anything. If you valet park, just know they will park your car right next to the self parking lot. As in, it's the same lot you just don't have to walk to your car on your own. I mean, if you just feel like having Jeeves bring your car around, go for it. Otherwise, it really isn't worth it. Oh, depending on the location of your room you get a lovely view of the Hillside Cemetary. I'd stay here again if I was in the area. Definitely a lot cheaper than other hotels and it's pretty close to restaurants and a couple malls.

Review is for catering/event. We had my daughter's Bat Mitzvah here last weekend and it was fabulous. We booked it the end of May 2014 so we have been working with the catering department for many months NO need for a lot of words. Everything was smooth. Very responsive, nice space, good food, pleasant staff. All you could want Thank you!

I have stayed at every brand Marriott has, and one of the nice things about Marriotts and Courtyards in particular is you know what to expect. The Courtyard by Marriott in Culver City, CA is a little different. Upon entering my room, it reeked of cigarette smoke. The front desk staff was nice enough when I brought this to their attention and promptly changed my room. The new room was clean, as is the lobby. The one major difference with the Culver City Courtyard is their internet scam. I call it a scam because the when you first log in and register, you are given two choices: "High Speed" internet for free or "Premium" internet for $4.95 per day. At all other Courtyards, from Chicago to Miami to Seattle, the "free" internet is adequate for emails, texting, browsing the internet and even using Face Time to call friends and family. But not here. The "High Speed" or free internet is throttled down to 1.5 Mbps download and 1.5 Mbps upload, exactly. No variation in speed, which leads me to believe that my inability to send text messages or use any of my iPAD or iPhone's functionality is purposely blocked by this Courtyard. When I approached the front desk about this, I was told that for $4.95 per day, I would no longer experience and problems. This hotel has lost site of things. By trying to squeeze an additional five bucks out of me, they have lost a customer. Oh and being a Gold Elite member makes no difference here.
(3)Jen C.
This is a very nice hotel. The staff is very nice and the rooms are nice, clean and big. I was on the 9th floor next to the freeway, but I couldn't hear the traffic at all. They have free Wi-fi. They charge $15 a day for parking, which sucks, but it is a big parking lot. The only problem I seemed to notice is that when you go to the pool you have to go through the dining area. They should have another access to get to the pool. I would recommend to stay here and I would stay again.
(4)Marlisa K.
We've stayed here before. It's always been quiet and clean. We first chose this Coutyard for is convienient location to freeways, shops, restaurants, etc. After our third visit and some renovations at the courtyard, it's still the same great spot. We would absolutely stay here again in the future.
(5)Erin H.
FROM A VENUE POV. more like 3.5 stars I've had a couple banquet-ish events for my business frat here. Not really the most aesthetically pleasing venue, but there are different rooms with different guest capacities. The more recent event we had was in the Westwood Room, which is located in the basement level. It smells crazy down there!!! Maybe because there's the gym now there, but it just smells really smokey. Quite strange. Anyway, the room itself seats about 80 people (8 tables x 10 people/table). We also had a dance floor and a DJ setup. For dinner, I had the roast chicken with mashed potatoes and steamed carrots. The chicken was pretty good. Had a taste of a friend's chicken marsala, which was just a lil soggy and not that great. For dessert, we had chocolate cake, which was really moist and rich. Overall, service was pretty good and I was really full by the end of the night. Could barely dance haha The bar (at these events at least) are cash only, so it's kind of annoying, but everyone still buys drinks. Of course, don't expect to get your usual AMF or Long Island and get really messed up. I watched the bartenders make it and it seems like there's a lot of alcohol, but somehow.. it just doesn't taste like anything you'd get in the club. Oh well! There's a private lot for $6, but street parking is aplenty (esp at night). Make sure you watch out for signs cuz parking tickets are expensive!!
(4)Realtor Jesse P.
First off I have to say that I've been staying here for 15 days out of every month for the past two years and we have someone from our company here at all times on business in LA. I have always been a big fan of this hotel and the Marriott brand in general untill just recently, They have an Awesome staff and the front desk girls are always very knowledgable and able to assist in anyway they can, that being said they just finished a major renovation of the rooms and lobby/restaurant area the reno was very well done but in the process they changed the menu and not for the better. Also they no longer offer room service which I dont at all understand! Bottom line this is a great hotel to be in if you dont plan on eating there. The good news is there are several restaurants in walking distance.
(3)Joshua B.
Room was what I expected, check-in was easy and price was reasonable. Not far from LAX or the offices I was visiting. In-N-Out burger just a few miles away :-) But my TV didn't work (kept turning off), and since I was only here for a day that wasn't something I was gonna bother getting fixed. The Wifi was free, which is nice. Can't believe they charge for parking. I'd expect that in NY, San Francisco or inside major city limits, but for an outdoor lot in Culver City, that's just silly.
(3)M H.
Classic courtyard. Clean rooms and good value. Front desk staff was excellent and sincere. The gym was excellent. Too bad parking was not free for all hotel guests.
(4)Dave B.
Ok -- I get that this place is in the middle of renovations. I really wish this had been shown on the website when I booked. Very polite and courteous staff. I was impressed at how well they are handling everything being a total mess. This is your standard Marriott Courtyard. They make their money off of business travelers and this hotel is geared as such. Key things to know in advance: 1. They have free 'low speed' internet. If you want to do anything beyond get simple emails, be prepared to spend $5/day. 2. Breakfast is $15. 3. Parking is $15/day. 4. This place is less than 200 feet from the 405. Make sure to get a room on the other side of the hotel. 5. There is a tiny fridge and no microwave in the room.
(3)Lynette D.
Great hotel They validate parking The mattress was not great really hard Pillows were awesome Room was clean and spacious The bathtub faucet was broken and I had to work at getting it to come on However clean means more to me than having to fiddle a little to get the water on. Staff is friendly and helpful Not bad for airport hotel. Price was midrange fair deal.
(3)Les L.
Practical, clean, well run, friendly staff. Best room service food ! Healthy choices on menu, fresh ingredients. Close to the freeway but the noise level is ok...wouldn't want to live there but for a short stay, not a problem. Good air conditioning in room! Great luxury bedding, super clean and comfy. Nice lobby w many amenities. Better than I thought the whole way around. Wish they didn't charge $15 for parking per stay, not day. But you can't park on the street, so you pretty much have to pay the $15. I'd go back.
(4)George P.
Now, just the name Marriott one should envision 4-5 stars. But sadly I can't give this location 5 stars... Our room was pretty good but the absence of a small fridge was noticeable. The staff was excellent four stars there. Quick to help but also engaged in personal conversations or engagement with one guest or a friend while another waited. Staff members offered assistance then walked away to get someone to help rather than assisting themselves. I was done by the time the Help arrived. The curved shower curtain which is designed to offer more room in the shower was broken and sagged down rather than holding the curtain out away from the tub. The curtain would bunch up in the middle of it rather than stay suspended from end to end. The breakfast buffet was great and the wait staff eager to please 4.5 stars there. Eggs to order and brought to the table hot coffee, fresh fruits awesome stuff! I do hope they get their stuff together at this location, a Marriott should be more on top of the simple things... Sláinte!

I came here on a Sunday evening with my husband. This is a great location (near freeway) and of great value! The hotel has been fully renovated since May 2014. It's very clean, huge restaurant/bar/sitting area. I arrived around 3 p.m. and went to the fitness center. It's very clean and has plenty of great equipment. My husband arrived around 5:30 and we went downstairs to watch the pre-NFL game in the lobby. We ordered wine from the bar - the bartenders were super friendly and very customer service focused. I ordered Italian food for delivery (I was craving spaghetti and meatballs which wasn't on their menu), but I noticed all the food that was being delivered to other guests. The food looked great, generous portions and the service was rather quick. Our room was great - large King bed with a soft sofa in the sitting area. Overall, I definitely recommend this hotel, will return. This is a great clean location!

Another town, another Marriott Courtyard. Usually I don't bother with reviews of large chain hotels because lets face it, they are pretty much the same, everywhere. But this one is interesting. So let's start at the beginning: Parking: $10 a day. Why? Tons of street parking around. Just a way to leech a few extra bucks from the patrons. Lobby: Wow! bright blue accent tiles on the floor. Interesting. Well decorated, a bit over the top in my opinion. Special note on the elevators, oddly cold. Like 10 degrees colder than the lobby and hallways. Weird. Rooms: Not sure why but the beds in this hotel are softer than the average Courtyard. Old? Decor wise, typical Courtyard, no surprise there. What did really surprise me though was the paper walls. I've had the pleasure of listening the gentlemen in the next room conduct his business with India, all night long. Not pleasant. Internet Service: Free, but then again almost every business class hotel is these days. Notable about this place: the internet service requires you re-log in every couple of hours if you've been inactive. What gives there? That few I.P. addresses that you need to reclaim them hourly? Come on.. Restaurant: Well I ate there the first night. A mistake I will not repeat. Granted I made the first mistake by ordering a philly chessesteak in Los Angeles, but geez, frozen packaged precooked steak?? Warmed, not grilled onions?? And I'm still not sure what that cheese was? Swiss maybe?? Overall Yuck! A couple of beers on tap, I had Widmer Hefe, nice and stale, yum! I won't back here. All show and no substance. Another place in LA as deep as a sidewalk puddle.

Our family spent a week at the hotel in June. Nice property. Awesome and friendly staff. Great location. Would stay there again.

My husband and I stayed while visiting family. I liked the location for its easy access to the 405. It's close to shopping, food, etc., as well as the cemetery where my mom is (I know, that part is not for everybody). We checked in very late--past midnight. There wasn't anyone at the desk but we found them in the office. The guy was very casual and not very informative. He didn't mention anything about parking, breakfast, checkout...nothing. He just told us where the elevator was and went back to the office. The room itself was lovely. Everything looked really new. We were right by the ice machine and elevator, so that was very convenient. Unfortunately (and to my surprise and disappointment) there was no mini-fridge or microwave, so the food we had ended up in the trash for fear of playing food-poisoning-russian roulette. Seriously, even cheapo motels have mini-fridges, at least. Breakfast was a bit expensive, especially since we didn't eat much. However, they did have a nice variety of food like French Toast, bacon, eggs, yogurt, cereal, plus they had an omelet station where somebody actually made your omelet to order. They also had an assortment of fresh fruit, bagels and muffins. I was pleasantly surprised by all that. Furthermore, there were servers who brought you beverages and cleared your plates! They were expeditious and very friendly. Honestly, I wouldn't mind paying for a breakfast like this had I had more time to really get my money's worth and I do appreciate the fact that people are getting paid to provide a pleasant breakfast experience. Seriously, nicest staff ever. Check out was easy and the day staff seemed way more professional than the guy who was there at midnight. Overall, we had a very nice experience here, but the fact that my tamales went bad because there was no mini-fridge really irritated me. Delicious homemade tamales! Ruined for lack of something so basic...

This is a very nice hotel but know the price you are paying before you get sticker shock at the counter. 1- 12.00 per day parking not included in advertised price and we were never given the option of parking on the street. We had to question the bill. 2- 14% taxes 3- breakfast not included ....14.95 per person Otherwise, very clean and updated.

It's Friday night late in Spring Quarter, which means that Formals Season for Asian Greek Organizations has arrived. If you're unfamiliar with this, think end of the year banquets for (obscenely plastered) drunk college students. Side note: if you see greek letters followed by the word "formal" on the day of your event, make sure you're not next to them. Anyway, there is only one thing I need to say: $22 for dinners. No minimum to waive a room rental fee. Although I am not sure if that includes typical 20% tax/tip, but you're looking at being able to only charge $30 and spin a size-able profit. Ladies and Gentlemen, that is AMAZING for any banquet-style event. Although their room that they had wasn't extremely big, it did have a connecting outside courtyard area. (Maybe that's why it's called...THE COURTYARD MARIOTT?!? Stunning.) Pretty cool, but not sure if people actually chilled out there. I don't remember if I saw heating lamps, and it didn't seem well lit. I guess you could smoke out there easily. The food was typical hotel food, nothing amazing. I had Chicken Alfredo, came with a salad and some dessert. As an economics major, I can say that each bite of said Chicken Alfredo has diminishing marginal returns for my appetite...but again, what do you expect, it's hotel banquet style food. Probably the biggest con is parking. They charge $8 with event validation. Seriously? I'm not quite sure who they're trying to keep out, but that much of an extra fee is pretty terrible. This isn't LAX. To note: No dance-floor tiling, no podium, and it seems that you must pay for hotel-furnished security. If you're on a budget, this may be your best bet. Diary of A DJ series, 3.5 Stars overall, 4 stars for banquets.

Really nice place...came here for a Meetup group, did not reside in the hotel, but the conference room was nice and the food that was served was pretty good.

This is my second stay here and it was good. Check-in and out was easy. Its close to shopping and restaurants. The location is good some street parking avaliable across the street (in front of the CHP office lol.) Parking is $4 per hour/ $8 for events with validation/ $12 for all day or overnight. The rooms are nice and now they have free wifi internet for hotel guest. Which is great. I would stay here again bc it is convient and nice property. And would tell friends to stay here if they were in the La area.

A simple hotel. Nothing fancy, at least not in my room. The room was clean and it even had a view! When i looked out my window i saw another building and the parking lot down below. Hey, its a view right? lol good hotel to crash the night when your drunk or to get drunk in...now that i think of it i dont think i was even charged for my stay...i never saw it show up on my bank account

I stayed here four times for ten days at a time for my Antioch University MFA residency. It was wonderful because it was a short walk from campus, but I believe Antioch is moving their campus. All in all, it's a great hotel. It's a typical Courtyard, for those who've stayed at similar hotels. It is clean and practical with a bed, wardrobe, desk, coffee table, TV, couch, safe, coffee maker, and bathroom. Everyone is fairly nice. There are some imperfections. The wifi is extremely slow and sometimes doesn't connect. There is a restaurant downstairs but it is very expensive and not very good, although I may be a minority in this opinion, as it was busy day after day. There's a mall just across the freeway that has some good restaurants, though: Thai, sushi, etc. One night there was a party that went past midnight. Party downstairs past midnight. Even on the ninth floor, loud enough to shake the room and keep us awake. I would just recommend asking for a non-courtyard side. It's not as nice of a view, but it's quieter. If you don't mind potential noise, however, the view is quite nice. There was another day where the boiler went out and had to be fixed with no notice. When we called and complained they provided a complimentary breakfast as compensation for no shower. It wasn't quite the same, but the effort was appreciated. All in all, we probably stayed 40 nights total over the course of two years. I think it's a great place to stay for someone who has school or business

Tough call here, as in the area they seem to offer the best M-F rate for a hotel in this range. Pros: Free WiFi and Internet in room and lobby Pool (outdoor heated) Newer nice sized rooms Cons: CLOSE to the Frwy and damn loud, especially if you get the room facing it. Parking $10 Breakfast buffet $14 is a rip-off, there is nothing on it; although you can get your eggs cooked to order. Walls are paper thin and doors missing some molding on the bottom to seal the room from outside noise. If someone farts in the room next to yours or the hallway, you'll hear it. I also hate the toiletry products that this chain uses: The soap is greasy and leaves that greasy feeling all over. They also put a batch of cookies out in the early evening, but they quickly disappear and never seem to have any choc chip.

Had an excellent experience at this Courtyard Marriott! My friend and I shared a room because we had to attend a week-long seminar at the WestLA Pepperdine location just 5 minutes away from here. We got the school discount so it was worth it. The staff here are incredibly nice! I can't even count how many times someone greeted us or made small talk - whether it was the doorman, concierge, or maid. Whatever you're doing to keep your staff friendly and happy, please keep doing it! It's rare to get that kind of treatment from any hotel, including the high end uuuber expensive ones. They also did not charge for free wi-fi! What the... shocking! Most hotels love to charge $12 or whatever ridiculous amount per night to use their plug-in internet, but not here! Parking is $10/night, but we got a free parking voucher so didn't have to pay. My only complaint is that the room walls are a bit thin - good thing I'm not a light sleeper. All in all, a great hotel that I'd be more than happy to come back to.

This review is for the service provided by the lobby staff and the valet staff. We came here for an event last Saturday night (which was held at the ballroom upstairs). I misunderstood prior to coming that valet was $6 (when in actuality it's $14). I drove up to the lobby and there weren't any valet staff. We waited a while and I asked my friend to go up to the lobby and ask if someone was available to valet my car. They said they'll call someone in and he'd be there shortly. Well 10 mins pass by and I had my friend go and ask the lobby desk again. Finally another 5 mins later, a valet guy shows up. I asked to confirm if it was $6 and he immediately said it's $14. It wasn't so much what he said but his attitude was downright rude. I asked again to confirm...."but the email said it's $6." He kept repeating the same answer....$14. I didn't even let him finish his sentence as I drove off to the parking lot. I was already agitated from waiting 20 mins and to get rude service on top of that. Well the event went really well and it was fun. But I advise Marriott to revisit customer service standards for each of their employees because what I experienced was not acceptable.

Stayed here for business the week of July 17, 2012. Hotel ok. No refrig. Poor breakfast $13.00. Parking $12.00 per day. Hotel exterior window very dirty with grime and water scum. I have seen better towels at a gym (paper thin.) No ice in ice machines. Weak internet access at times. Bar is weak and very quiet. The good things are that it is walking distance to Westfield Culver City Mall and a Golds Gym.

I come to L.A. a few times a year and I am forced into this hotel because of it's convenience to the motion picture lot where I work and LAX. Location: Can't beat it if you are working on this side of town. Price: Decent Food: Horribly expensive with only a few other options in the area that require you to drive. $15 + tip for breakfast is an outrage. Rooms: Looks clean (I did not try using a black light to see what I don't want to see) Mattresses are all worn out and need replacement. Only a small sliver of mattress about a foot wide had any support. Walls are paper thin. I hear snoring in one room and the TV in the adjacent room. TV: The worst. Crappy Samsung HD set with only analog programming with the screen set to wide. The worst possible way to watch TV. Bring your tablet. Internet: Solid but not fast. Parking: Not bad - Expensive and behind a gate. Staff: What I saw and encountered were friendly. Not my favorite hotel by any means and would never bring my family to this hotel.

I recently booked an event here for my fraternity. They were very easy to work with and got the event running really smoothly. On the day of the event, a few more people showed up than we expected, but luckily they had enough extra plates. The location is also pretty nice since it's not too far away from most colleges in the area. The food here has always had positive reviews, and both times I've been here, I've had the Chicken Marsala (always a solid choice). The bar that we had, unfortunately, was cash only and drinks were in a reasonable range. The staff here was great and easy to work with in both planning the event and in the day of. If I had any questions or needs, I would be able to talk to someone right away. All in all, a pretty solid venue. Oh yeah, and if you can, get the Palisades room. It's the nicest one.

This Marriott was remodeled within the past year. It's much better than before. Not quite as good but big improvements. Had a church-affiliated meeting here that included breakfast. Nice buffet with all the fixings. Coffee was quite tasty. I ordered the vegetarian omelette, breakfast potatoes, english muffin, yogurt, and lots of fresh fruit, melons, cantaloupe, and sliced grapefruit. A nice breakfast at an awesome meeting!

LOVE this hotel! Not sure if it's a new build or a remodel, but it looks immaculate, updated, & sleek. Everything functions properly - even though the TV has a 10 sec delay which they communicate in-room very well with signage. The staff is SUPER friendly & helpful...I left my room keys in my car 1 time, in my room another time & both times replacement keys were made for me with a smile. The exercise room is horrendous...if you like to work out you'll not be impressed. 2 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, 1 bike & 1 set of free weights squeezed into a very small room (almost like a converted 1 stall bathroom into a "gym). If no one else is in there, it's fine. Water & towels are also provided. Didn't use the pool/hot tub outside but the view from my room made it look nice & inviting. Easy to find & close to the airport & LA. I'll stay here from now on when I'm in the area for work.

Nice staff, and the hotel looks like its been renovated recently. However, the beds are as hard as concrete (I think the carpet is cushier) and the 405 freeway noise is annoying. Parking is kind of ridiculous for the area, but it's handy. I wouldn't return unless they decided to change their mattresses; you come to *sleep* at a hotel and I've had nothing but sleepless nights here. Too bad the other hotels in the area are booked or I would have left.

This hotel is more like a Marriott rather than a COURTYARD Marriott. I'm pretty impressed by the quality, cleanliness, and feel of the rooms. Hotel staff were nice, parking was easy to find, TV had digital guides, it's in a good location very close to food, mall, and the 405. Good bang for your buck. Only negative is that the walls are thin.

Stayed here for a business trip in October. Was very nice. Has become my preferred hotel in the area. Pros: * Very nice parking area. ( Though i had to make several trips. Didn't think to bring the parking ticket with me after checking in). * Room is nice * Staff was very friendly and inviting * Wifi was decent most days. * Nice furniture * Convenience store downstairs ( bit expensive) and a Rite-Aid 5 minute walk ( or 1 minute drive) away. Makes getting simple stuff very convenient. Cons: * The room service can get very expensive. Breakfast that would have been $5-6 at Denny's was creeping up on $20 after you figure in tax and tip. But I guess thats the price of convenience. My stay got extended an extra night. I was actually staying at another hotel. But I liked courtyard so much that I checked out of that hotel and came back here.

Made a reservation for the courtyard Marriott in Santa Monica and when we printed out the reservation it gave us this address. We didn't notice until we were almost there and put it into our GPS. When we called they acted like they had no idea what we were talking about and said that there was nothing that they could do. When we arrived at the hotel they said they rerouted us. This is called the bait and switch. The kids were tired so we didn't want to make an issue but they acted like this was completely acceptable. When we got to the room, it was facing the loud freeway, the tv didn't work and the stupid alarm went off at 7.

The staff here has been excellent from the moment I walked in the door! When I asked about a refridgerator they had one brought up to my room right away. The property needs a bit of help, especially in the ultracompetetive LA market. My room is a funky mix of new and old, old air conditioning, old window coverings, old bed, new furniture, new carpet. Nice faux marble bathroom. They put me on the "quiet" side of the building (their words)--but the air-handler outside my window sounds like a F-111 on takeoff. Also the window is so dirty that I can barely see out of it. I don't know how often I should realistically expect them to clean the outside windows, but what I'm seeing here is ridiculous. The pool is small and was a nasty too-warm stagnant pond with a thick film of suntan oil on it. I will try it again later in the week and see if they've cleaned it up. The workout room is nice, but is in the basement--this is California--not really any reason to work out underground. As is typical with Marriott properties, they do not mention parking costs prominently on the website or at reservation.

Sergio on the catering staff is a wonderful person to work with at the Courtyard Marriott. I have only had better service at the Ritz Hotel in Paris. The Westwood meeting room is very big and easy to set up for conferences.

First class service. Amazing breakfast. Rooms are reasonable. Could use a small fridge in your room, appears it was removed.
(4)Dave K.
This is not a very elegant hotel, but it serves its purpose and is fairly efficient. The staff is pretty friendly and started recognizing me after my third time there in a month. I'll rate each part separately: Parking. Parking is $10. Kind of outrageous. Check-in. Relatively easy and friendly. Rooms. Clean, fairly simple. Never enough outlets near the desk or bed. Bathrooms. Roomy and clean. Lots of towels. I am not a fan of the soap and shampoo. Gym. Very small. Only fits about 6-8 people with 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical, 1 bike, a full set of weights, a bench, a ball, a mat. Restaurant. I've only eaten breakfast here. It is pretty much the same thing every day. But get the omelet from the omelet bar. Pretty good but get there at 7 as there is a line. Customer service. Pretty happy with them overall. Like I said they now recognize me.

Good hotel. Clean. Friendly.

Very clean and organized. Ladies at reception are extremely organized and cleaning crew is ready to make sure your room is nice. One problem- everything accept for cookies and coffee cost you a mint: from the $12.95 a day parking to the $13.99 a person breakfast buffet.

3.5 stars. was the only hotel available for NYE night which we booked literally 10pm the night before! The price was almost $200! YIKES!! But I guess that was our fault for being so last minute and it was NYE. The room itself was nice and clean. The sofa bed in the room was big and seemed fairly comfortable with clean sheets stored in the drawers. The towels were thin and the blankets were SUPER thin (I was really cold all night even with the heater blasting). The service was good, no complaints there. The parking overnight is $10! but we just found free parking with no problems on the street on the curb right outside the hotel. I would stay here if you want someplace close to LA/santa monica (10 min drive to 3rd street) for cheap. I imagine you can get a great deal if it's not NYE or last minute. I would stay again if I'm just passing through.

I've stayed at this property a few times and my last stay here on 6/27/13 has me questioning my loyalty to the Marriott brands. I had to call for an engineer because the thermostat was not working. I was informed by the engineer that came up to my room that some of the rooms' a/c units are not hooked up to the thermostat and you have to control it from the unit itself. In the same room, the shower faucet was completely stripped and the water would not turn on. I waited 25 minutes for an engineer who was supposed to "be sent up immediately." I finally packed up my belongings and went downstairs to get another room so I was only 45 minutes late for my meeting. I was told this was going to be escalated to a manager and did not receive a call at all. My guess is that the reason I didn't get a call is the same reason that these issues are happening.....lack of concern. It makes me wonder what housekeeping is really doing in the rooms if they are not reporting obvious issues, like being able to turn on water. They must not be actually cleaning. I will not be staying again at this property and it is a shame that such a great brand like Courtyard could have such poor representation in their quiver of properties. The good news for them is I'm not a mystery shopper.
(1)Tina N.
Great Courtyard! Highrise building, with clean and up to date furniture, and lovely rooms - facility wise I'm a big fan. The reason I'm taking off two stars is because of the front desk service. Checking in and checking out took over 10 minutes of standing in line. If there's that long of a line - get another staff member over there! Also, expensive paid parking.
(3)John A.
We have stayed here many times over the past three years, but will not be staying again. During our last stay in September 2011,the hotel booked a private party that lasted until 1 AM with DJ music so loud it actually shook our 6th floor room. We complained, but were told nothing could be done because they needed the catering business! We have had noise problems in the past as the walls are paper thin. When they remodeled a few years ago they put full length mirrors where the doors to the adjoining rooms used to be. They did not put in filler or insulation so you can hear virtually everything in the next room through the mirror. That is a major flaw that could be easily corrected. I am surprised they don't fix it since I am told they get complaints every night. There are other hotels in the area that are better and quieter. Too bad, because its a nice place, but not if you need sleep.
(2)Felice A.
Sigh. This review is really about breakfast and not the hotel in general. I am really disappointed and tired of the selection. There is nothing to eat if you are vegan. If you are vegetarian you can have oatmeal. :(. The omelet guy is mice though. I once brought him my own organic eggs and he made me an omelet w them. Ev else there is poison if you are the least bit health conscious.

I have never stayed in this Courtyard before but this hotel is great for short term stay. With AAA rate, I only paid approximately $126 including tax. The general area is so much better than downtown LA or airport area. There is a small plaza within walking distance. The only complain is that there is no free onsite parking. Lobby and breakfast area has contemporary look. I stayed in a high floor with a king size bed and a pull out sofa queen. The room is spacious. It has a nice working desk, large flat screen TV and free internet. The gym is pretty big comparing with other hotels. I will definitely go back when I visit LA again. Great value for the money.

This Courtyard by Marriott is in Culver City, but is called the Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles Westside. That is a mouthful! The building is probably 20 years old, but within the last year it has been totalled remodelled. It now has a more updated lobby, with a festive confetti-like decor of colors and patterns, and swirling marble walkpaths leadin to the check-in desk. It has about 12 stories. The rooms are typcial Courtyard in design and style. The beds are more of the Temprupedic foam type, whereas Hilton, Starwood, and Hyatt brands are usually soft quilt-top mattress over a firm mattress. They both offer a decent night;s sleep, but I prefer Starwoods (Sheraton, Westin) and my next favorite are Hiltons. The location is convenient, just 2 or 3 miles from LAX, but far enough away to not have the jets landing on top of you. So you don't have jet noise, but they are remodeling the currently closed Fox Hills Mall next door. There is a small shopping stip mall nearby, and you are close to Culver City's downtown for more good dining choices. Courtyard's usually have a restaurant and room service, but I didn't use either on this trip. I got a rate of $139 in early February, typically a slow season. The Howard Hughes Center is across the 405 freeway, where there is the Premenade mall and movie theaters. If the 405 is jammed, you can try Sepulveda to get here, or from downtown LA, take La Cienaga over Ladera Heights.

Located right across from CHP, I hear the loud sirens morning and night even when my room is on the highest floor, the 12th. The walls of the room is pretty thin, next door conversations, and bathroom noises can be heard. It's so thin I can smell their coffee brewing in the morning!! The room size is decent but bathroom a little small. Nice flat screen tv and full length mirror. Free Internet. We didn't get any AAA discount for the room, and hotel car parking is $10 per night not included in the room rate. There was only one guy at the reception area, even when 6 people were waiting in line. I know he was trying to be friendly and was chit-chatting with the client but not when there are so many people waiting! I've been to other better Courtyard by Marriott before. This one barely made the 3 stars.

Great service, great hotel.

Courtyard Los Angeles Westside is a complete renovation of a bad hotel that was just gutted and completely redone. I checked in a few friends for one night with a special travel industry rate plan that I'm eligible for (was $59/night rather than $159/night). Notes: 1) Check in was very friendly 2) Unless your company reimburses you, do not pay the $12 for parking. Street parking can be had for free, and even the front desk person thumbed up my decision to park on the street rather than in the hotel's lot. They really need to make parking free, everyone staying at the hotel knows it's free, and their pay lot remains only a quarter full. 3) Call from front desk soon after I arrived to see how I was doing was a nice touch 4) LCD TVs in the room, nice plush beds, and plenty of amenities. All in all, I feel that the sterile feel of the courtyard brand leaves a lot to be desired. However, all of their hotels, this one included, are always spotless and well maintained. The fact that they offered wide availability for the special rate plan that I took advantage of pushes this to 5 stars, at the top.

I am rescinding my stars and will NOT be back. Since I checked out May 31st they have failed to return the $300 hold on my credit card (for incidentals? $300? Really?) and have not been responsive to my phone call requests. My bank says they have 15 days but taking so long, they lost my business! And what could I have possibly spent $300 on????? They don't really have room service or in-room movies, so......?????

This is probably the best Courtyard I've stayed in. It's newly renovated so the decor is one step above my usual business traveller hotel. It's close to Fox Hills Mall, The Bridge and the 405 which makes it pretty convenient . It's also a short drive to Marina Del Rey. Also having an outdoor pool with lots of chairs and Cabanas was nice. The pools at Courtyards aren't usually for made well for tanning. It was quite comfortable. I really could have used Pina Colada service though. We however did have a difficult time with housekeeping. We would leave for hours in the day time and room still hadn't been clean. Also parking is $12 and this area you really shouldn't pay for parking. It's not like it's really at a premium here. If I was paying attention I would have parked on the street in front of the CHP for free. I would also skip the breakfast buffet for $13 and hit one of the local places which have much better food for the same price.

one of my best stays at a courtyard marriott. bonus points that it's walking distance to my work's culver city campus. staff: friendly, attentive, responsive, helpful and non-intrusive. hotel: clean!! other courtyards i've stayed at have been completely filthy/grimy - yuck. the rooms sizes are fair -- while not huge suites, they've maximized the space, furniture/decor is functional, comfortable and clean. amenities are great including free wifi and lan cable connection this will be the place i stay at whenever i stay overnight for work.
(4)Angela M.
Pretty typical Marriott. Granted, I will give credit where credit is due. The internet is free and the rooms and the hotel overall really, is CLEANNNN. Major brownie points! I'd come here to stay a night or two (as I did) but not to spend a vacay or several nights. Not the place to wine and dine or rest and relax. More like just a place to crash after you've been out and about, cruising LA County. The location is AWESOME, super close to a mall/restaurants and the freeway and just a few exits away from the Getty. Negatives: they charge for toiletries! (Sorry, I'm used to them being complimentary). Parking is $10/night. Ehhh, not too bad I suppose. But like I said, great location and a great place to crash w/o spending a super pretty penny.
(3)Michele H.
This hotel is the place to stay. This hotel has service that can't be matched. When I needed more towels, housekeeping was at my door within minutes. When I needed help with my TV, engineering came and swapped out the TV for a new set within minutes. We have eaten breakfasts here and one of the waiters, treated us with the utmost undivided attention. We had questions about printing from our computers, they simply offered to do it for us. We are greeted every time we walk through the lobby. Lastly, a few years ago we stayed here and had an issue with loud neighbors and they comped our rooms for our 3 day stay. If this isn't incredible customer service, I don't know what is. With this kind of service, no wonder Marriott continues to be a reputable chain.
