Americanized sushi. Rolls are decent size but the cheaper fish fills them. Saiko roll is delicious but really if you want a genuine sushi place, this isn't it. Great for vacationers and people trying something "ethic" for the first time.

Absolutely amazing! We went to San Diego for New Years 2011-2012 and made a stop here before the ball dropped. We are glad we did. ( I am speaking for everyone, because I know we all have the same views on this awesome spot.) Service was AMAZING. Meredith - you are a diamond in the rough, thank you for taking care of our party. Evan, thanks for the perks and hospitality of SD, and Gabe, well execution of everything, sir. We were still clapping for you all when we left on the Ferry back to downtown haha. Sake Bombs were prefect, and the Saiko roll? Get outta here, they are the best... ever. Seriously. If your ever on Coronado and want a good time, stop by this gem. For sure.

I've had a bunch of their fish -- from regular sushi rolls, to house rolls, to nigiri -- to their duck tacos. It's always been great. They also have pretty good happy hour prices on food and beer, and not just on stuff that's already cheap to begin with.

I'm really glad that Saiko opened up in Coronado because I'm a huge sushi addict and also lazy. Their happy hour is good, though not a very extensive menu. I recommend the baby bok choy. My only complaint is that they should should probably hire some more staff. The last time I went, there was easily a thirty minute wait before we received our edamame (...). The waitstaff is super nice, but when you have 1.5 servers working on ~20 tables it's gonna cause some backups. But, I'm very happy they're here and hope that Saiko is just going through some growing pains.

Had a New Zealand salmon nigiri. Apparently they have 3 types of sushi, and the waitress strongly recommended this one. The BEST piece of salmon sushi that I've ever had. Just like butter. However, we also ordered some toro, which is the higher quality belly cut of the tuna, which has a richer, more buttery taste. This was $12 for 2 pieces. Whenever we go out for sushi, we usually splurge with a piece or two each. The taste was ok, but my wife and I both had a string-like pieces that would not tear apart easily with our teeth. It was almost like a piece of membrane in the middle of the piece of sushi.

Absolutely fabulous food and service. They had a lemon cocktail that was sweet and very yummy.

Where's my digg button.? I do. Sushi isn't downtown SD's strong point. This is close enough to pop on a ferry or over the bridge to get some fresh numminess. Fine, he's a jersey boy and (ick) a yankee's fan but he and his partner crank out fresh, fun, spicy raw delights that my EV butt is headed there again soon and often

The sushi here is always fresh! You can choose to either go the traditional route or go with their own creations. Both are Awesome! They have a unique style to their sushi and you immediately notice that they pay a lot of attention to detail and presentation. I like their specials.....especially how they are always changing and always creative. This is one of my favorite restaurant in Coronado.
