My Favorite Salsa ever is made here! its the one thats most popular in the salsa bar you should try it. Anyways, Ive been coming here for years and im happy every time I come. I have probably had hundreds of beef enchiladas from here and im still not sick of them. Its kind of hard to complain about a place that lets you drink a 40oz at dinner!

I like this place. The people that work there are very friendly, and will not hesitate to make you whatever you want and not charge you all kinds of add ons. I have had the carne asada burrito and cheese enchiladas. Both really good, next time i want to try a combo plate. I really like how you server your self the chips and salsa, makes everyones life easier. ANNNND, they have tequila and a TV with sports on!

I go here sometimes after gettin' ma hair did across the street at Rage Salon. The carne asada taco is the only thing I have tried, but they are super tasty. I'm loving their salsa!

All I gotta say is that the food here is worth the burpin' and the gassing out both ends.

My parents have been going here since before I was born, so it's in my blood. They've told me how it has a long history and has moved all around the city -- and every time I've gone in there with my folks they're recognized and welcomed by the staff (who are exceedingly friendly). I love Mexican food, and it's not always easy to find authentic, tasty Mexican when you're a vegetarian. But here you have it at Jaliscos. I usually get the veg burrito a la carte, but they have enchiladas and chile rellenos. As mentioned by others, there's bottomless chips y salsa, and here's another treat: if it floats your boat, you can ask for butter with your tortillas. They'll give you these little pats of butter to smear on warm flour tortillas. Mm-mm, good. Also as mentioned, the decor is worn and aging, but don't let it scare you away. My favorite is the Year 2000 decorations hanging from the ceiling, adorned with spider webs. And they have those vinyl-covered, broken-spring booths that stick to your legs. But go there for the food!

Go here for excellent (and greasy!) breakfast burritos. You can call ahead and pick them up, if you want. I usually just order bacon, egg, and cheese. Their burritos always come with little containers of yummy salsa, too. Also excellent: their chicken burritos. I'm sure everything else is great, too, as there are always lots of people eating there.

Jalisco's has been one of our favorites since it was located on San Carlos Street years ago. When they moved we followed....our parents and grandparents and now our kids and grandkids, we all Love it! It's nothing fancy, real casual but a VERY Family Friendly place, everyone knows everyone. You get to make your own salsa, so if you like it hot or mild it's your choice. The enchiladas, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos and tamales are just some of our favorites....there's to many to list. Their beans are super great, whole or re-fried. If it's not on the menu, they'll even make it for you, just let them know what you're craving. So stop by and give it a try...try it you'll like it! Oh, and don't forget to order a margarita too!

Let me start off by saying two of my friends have been eating there almost every day! and they love it so much they got it tatted on their arms. if you do go look at the picture by the counter where you order. I go there whenever I am hungry and dont have to work. so maybe 3 times a week. Its easy to get to know Henry he is one of the funniest and friendliest guys you will ever meet. If you have never been GO! you will soon be apart of the jalisco family and if you havent met henry you havent had the true jalisco experience.

You NEED to try there shredded pork tacos, THEY ARE THE BEST!!

gross....felt like i was eating in a porta potty. Dirty floors, cobwebs, greasy menus and table. Not very friendly to our family. Probably because we were the only mexicans in there besides the cooks. Food was an exageration of SLOP on a plate, not able to distiguish the different ingredients in my meal.

Yelpers that gave this place 5 stars are either crazy, drunk, or have never had mexican food outside of a Taco Bell. Bad, cheap, Mexican food at premium prices. Did I say bad? Bad! The beef in the enchilda was like sloppy-joe meat, the kind you get in a highschool cafeteria. The beans were gray and obviously canned, the cheese was terrible, a huge plate of slop for $13. The chimichanga wasn't bad but nothing special for $10, tiny little salad, weird dressing, no beans or rice. $10, think about that. The decor is ripped 70s pleather, half the lights are off, no atmosphere inside. They call your number for you to pick up your food, no table service... not a big deal when the food is priced accordingly (ie half as much), but pretty offensive for considering the prices they ask. Im actually a bit angry about the whole experience: $30 for dinner for 2, bad food, bad service, in a dirty dingy dining room. I just felt a complete lack of respect for the customer experience, there are many many better options around Campbell that are much much better.

went in here a while back to have breakfast with the wife and in-laws, i ordered huevos rancheros and all i got was a plate with 2 over easy eggs, rice, beans, and tortillas. honestly if i were the owner i would be ashamed to even call this mexican food. and the sad part is the people that work there are in fact mexican. if it werent for the regulars that frequent here this place would have went under long ago. i could have made this 10x better at home and will do so in the future

This place is a jewel, no joke. For a small hole in the wall, it's clean. w/great Mexican food and consistent. The food is absolutely delish here. I think you can get a margarita, or a beer here, but not completely sure. I have eaten here for years and the owner Henry is a good guy! He is a kind hearted guy and a great cook. I love the simple things such as whole beans and good rice, but the soft pork tacos and carne asada are the BOMB! Everything I've eaten here is great for such a tiny little place. I hear the pozole is awesome (according to my girlfriend from Hawaii) but I haven't tried it (Only on Saturdays and maybe Sunday). Give this place a try, however don't expect a place like El Torrito, or Chevy's, because this place is authentic and small, probably about twelve to fourteen booths and tables. I asked Henry if he could tell me how he does his pork butt, for the Chili Verde. Henry said he'd tell me, but then he'd have to kill me. . .LOL (and then being the nice guy he is, he told me and let me go). . . ;-)

Not only does Jalisco's have great food but they are great caterers! I had a 1 year birthday party for my son with 144 guests. They delivered the food with chafing pans and warmers, set the buffet table up and even set the chips and salsa out on each table! They came back at the end of the party and picked up their stuff! The guys were friendly and very helpful! I recommend them to anyone who is having a big party and doesnt have time to worry about the food.

Been coming here for years, from when they were on stevens creek. The tacos are unbelievable and all the other items never disappoint. I love this place.

My friend was visiting from the East Coast and was craving Mexican Food. As a Mexican Food fiend, I was quite embarrassed I didn't know of any REALLY good places to take her (and let me also note, she is of Mexican decent as well). I knew of Baja Fresh and Unamas in the area, but when explaining I was debating between these two places to my softball team earlier in the evening, they pretty much laughed (and some were laughing so hard they cried) in my face. My couch, thank god, suggested a "real" Mexican Food place. The little divy place closed at 9pm and I looked at my watch at 8:40pm. We hussled over expecting to get annoying looks for coming in when they wanted to close up, but instead we found a bustling restaurant on a Wednesday night! Four stars for the portions of food. HUGE!!! Minus one star for the beans and rice. Not the best I've had. The beans were super runny. I got the chicken enchiladas, but I can't really tell that's what I ended up with because they were in a soup of beans. But I didn't care. Beans, cheese, rice, chicken = perfect meal no matter which way they are presented. I'm looking forward to trying the other dishes. One tip: Don't drink the water. See the jug at the counter and you'll know what I mean.

I have been going here all through high school and it is the best place to go for local high school students. The workers are really chill and friendly. The food is so cheap for the local students and they have a chip/salsa bar. My favorite is the super steak burrito it is delicious and huge. The chimichanga is good as well but it is a little too big. There are plenty of seats but will get pretty busy during dinner hours. If it wasn't for the local student discount I don't think I would go here.

i recently went with my family.. we are a true mexican family. with mexican cooking.. i ordered MENUDO it ws the sickest bowl i ever tasted couldnt even eat it... my son ordered a burrito looked like a burrito from taco bell. basically not a authentic true mexican resataurant.. THEY WERE PLAYING BLUES MUSIC WHEN I WENT IN .. that should of been a hint .. VERY dissapointed and expensive... come to WATSONVILLE REAL MEXICAN FOOD ... ewwwwwwwww dislike the food and service...

WOO-HOOT! Ok, so this is BY FAR my most favorite Mexican restaurant. I have eaten at many different Mexican joints, and Jalisco's is the best food and atmosphere for a casual, easy dining experience. Though sometimes very busy, it is well worth the wait! The taco salad is scrumptious too!

Jalisco to me is one of the crossroads of culture in Campbell. I have been eating here since the age of 10. Never once disapointed . Henry is great and the food is superb.

food is AWESOME!!! Not enough seats,no comfortable seats and really bad decor. But service is great and the peeps are friendly and the food is to die for.

I want to really like this restaurant and I don't know why. But my initial impression was that the restaurant itself is showing a little wear and the food seems pretty standard fare. They've been around since the 60s apparently, having moved a couple of times finally coming to this Campbell location. We ordered tacos, tamales, chile rellenos, rice, and refried beans. The tacos were ok, the tamales generally lacked flavor, and the chile rellenos were *good*. I think what gets me is the "price vs. performance" of the menu. Most of the items we ordered were about $3 each, so you can see it does add up quickly. Granted we did receive quite a bit of quantity, but I've paid $1.75 for awesome tacos too. Service was good and despite what I said about the showing-wear bit, it is clean and organized. I would say that another visit is probably warranted to be sure. Times visited: 1

Jaliscos is excellent. They give you plenty of food for a fair price. The people are all very nice and easy to get along with. The service is great and the atmosphere is comfortable. Clean place with great food.

This is THE BEST restaurant in Campbell in terms of food quality, friendly service and price. I recommend the Veggie Burrito and excellent salsa selections from the counter.

I love this place!! Definitely my favorite Mexican restaurant. I highly reccomend the super carnasata burrito or the chicken enchalatas. Mmm.

I love the food and Henry and his boys are so nice. The food all homemade which is awesome, i love the taco's and the homemade tortillas.

  • Bill B.

This is great, inexpensive, and authentic "home cooked" Mexican food. Must better than the stuff you get at the chain restaurants. I have no idea how another reviewer spent $40 without alcohol. It's simply impossible to spend that much money on two people here. My wife and I get two "super burritos" and I get one of their "house margarita's" for less than $20... and we always end up taking some home. Tip: Order a "quarter order" of guacamole to go with the chips! We've been going here for 10 years and the place consistently does a great job.

I miss working in Campbell and coming here for my daily grub. Now its like every other week or when one of the guys hits me up, we might plan it out a day or two beforehand. I ordered the original taco, a carne asada quesadilla, rice and beans! Original - 4 of 5 - Its a seasoned ground beef and potato patty inside a crunchy shell, topped with lettuce, cheese & tomato - ohh so good, secret blend of spices make it bomb! Quesadilla - 5 of 5 - melted monterey jack cheese and tons of freshly grilled car-nay asa-duh steak!! I hate places who burn their tortillas but dont have melted cheese inside, like Emeril says "There's these things called knobs..." Rice - 3 of 5 - nice and fluffy but wasnt the freshest pot of the day, mos def made that day but probably very early in the morning Beans - 5 of 5 - refried goodness, such a nice flavor and they were hot!! I get them without the cheese on top though, good stuff. There was all kinds of kids there (high school age) and a few lunch meetings so i stayed off the jukebox, they usually have it loud when its playing, maybe next time i roll thru it will be more laid back and i can bump some music.

i went here with one of my co workers to check out this place he told me that this is the place to order some good authentic mexican food so i said alright when you order there breakfast burrito they really pile on the eggs for you. the bacon was not that much. That is the only thing i bought that day i will come back to order something.

Reasonably priced good tasting food. Nice people at the counter. Crowded (and seemingly popular) place. Took a couple of minutes to get a table, but once there, the food disappeared quickly. We had the vegetarian burrito and the cheese enchiladas. Chips and Salsa were good and were on the house. In the same complex as Sal's Pizza (which i like too)

  • Claire b.

I love this place. Everything I've gotten has been great and they are very friendly, feels like a real family joint. The super vegetarian burrito is the bomb

I went here for lunch based on the reviews, but wasn't too impressed. The people are nice, but the food wasn't that good and it was very overpriced. It was $9.50 for a combo, which included only 1 item and rice and beans. And that's only for lunch. It is $16+ for dinner, which is very high for this kind of restaurant. There are other places that are better and more reasonable.

Don't be fooled by the 4 stars. That's only for decor. The food is definitely 5 STARS for the price! I was introduced to Jalisco by someone in law enforcement. It's a favorite stop for a bunch from the Sheriff's Department. Not that I consider Sheriffs to be experts on cuisine but they definitely know what they like and I found that I did, too. The amateurish upholstery job on the booth seats notwithstanding, the kitchen group has a deft way with the menu. Burritos... bravo! Guacamole...great! Meats....magnificent! Salsa ...spectacular! Jalisco is not an assembly-line restaurant. Dishes may come in different sizes, and while portions are always ample, occasionally my chimichanga is large enough to be mistaken for a beef Wellington. I'm forced to share it with my husband. That's okay, since he's buying.

We're new to Campbell, and in our search for good Mexican food, Jalisco is as good as it gets. The employees are friendly, and the food is awesome!! They aren't pricey either... More to love!! Try this place out if you get a chance.

  • Ryan K.

Casual atmoshere with awesome food. Proprieter Henry Morado, along with his family and staff, offer an amazing array of food and beverage options. Don't see what you want on the menu? Just describe it and they can probably make it. The margaritas here are VERY strong, but don't worry because you can also get unlimited self serve chips and salsas to keep from getting sloppy before your food is ready. My carne asada friends have always really enjoyed the offerings, but not being a steak guy myself I always go with the chicken (burritos or soft tacos). Breakfast offerings are great too, but I'm not really an expert on morning cuisine. I always go with the breakfast burritos and they are awesome.

  • Bruce S.

I'm so tired of eating in restaurants where the food looks and tastes like it was made by someone who came to this country to be a construction worker and ended up in a kitchen. Jalisco is not that kind of place. Run by a friendly family with family recipes. It's a gem. I wish they'd adopt me. For me it's all about las carnitas.

  • Johnny S.

been going here since high school (class of 04). enchilada's are spectacular and also the salsa! i bring new friends here all the time and they have seem to like it so far

  • Tom C.

This place has delicious Mexican food. The super burritos are large enough to share with a loved one, although I eat the whole bad boy on my own. Try the order of guac and chips with their spicy salsa. They bust open new avacados to each order. With the good food and friendly service I don't have to go out of Campbell to find good Mexican dishes.

  • Sacheen W.

I really enjoy this place. It is a hole in the wall but those are the best places to eat right? They have a killer Carnitas Taco Salad that is my favorite on the menu. If you are looking for great tasting mexican food look no further than Jaliscos....YUM!

I have been eating at Jalisco for over 30 years. First at W San Carlos, then when they moved to Stevens Creek, and now at their current location in Campbell. There are reasons that I keep on going back- 1. The food! Everything is delicious, freshly prepared in the kitchen- no canned salsa or beans, homemade flour tortillas and corn tortilla chips, homemade salsas and guacamole, real cheddar cheese shredded on site and everything obviously made with a lot of love. There are free self-serve chips and salsas to satisfy a growling tummy while you wait. 2. The family that owns and runs the place is full of friendly people who care about their customers and their product. I have always been greeted with a smile and they all have a great sense of humor. On the rare occasion that the kitchen does something wrong, they happily fix the problem (this has only happened to me 3 times in 30 years- pretty good track record). 3. The prices are very reasonable. For the quantity and quality of food, I am happy to pay what I do. A comparable plate in a restaurant in a mall would cost a lot more. 4. Atmosphere. Yep, they place is "dated" and I appreciate this laid-back environment. There is no pretense, and the focus is obviously on customer service and the amazing food. I can walk in with jeans and a t-shirt and nobody cares that I am not dressed to the nines. 5. They are willing to mix things up. I am able to pick and choose things on the menu and eat what I want, instead of having to pick what somebody else thinks is a meal, and when I bring people in who have allergies, they are willing to work with them to see what they can or can't eat. 6. They are family-friendly. I think that's pretty self-explanatory. I recommend Jalisco for people who want an honest homestyle meal with plenty of flavor, without a pretentious environment..

I have been a customer for the last 16 years. Their warm hospitality and good food has me coming back for more. Everything on their menu is good, my favs are the original taco, carne asada entree, chile relleno and their chorizo. No one has better chorizo than Jalisco! They have a small bar that serves some awesome margarita's too! Try their soups too. The Albondigas and Posole sell out quickly, so be sure to try that too!!! Jalisco is my home away from home for good eats! The Morado family rocks!

    (5)
  • Joyce S.

My trainer at State Farm ordered lunch for our class from here. The rice, beans and salsa were wonderful. As a main entree, we had chicken enchiladas. I liked the enchiladas but could tell that they were holding back. The salsa was definitely my favorite.

  • Marc M.

My friend took me here over the summer, and he raved about the steak burrito. I myself got a bean and cheese burrito, which was pretty good and very filling. We didn't have to wait to long for our meal and the provided chips and salsa held us over until it was ready. The inside of the restaurant was a bit plain, but if you're looking for great decor and sub-par food, try Andales in Los Gatos. The atmosphere itself was also pretty nice and quiet, which I really enjoy. The owner? or man at the register had a totally bad-ass tattoo that said Jalisco's on his arm. He was also extremely friendly along with the rest of the service. One thing I found humorous, a note one the water jug read "CAUTION - Water is imported from Mexico, drink at your own risk"

I'm kind of disappointed that I can't give this place a higher rating. I was told it was a great place and a lot of people on here gave it a great review. Maybe I didn't order the right thing but I didn't think anything was that great. For starters, the salsa (which everyone seems to rave about) didn't seem like anything special and was EXTREMELY spicy. I backed it off and tried the mild salsa and that just tasted like watered down tomato paste. I added some onions to it to maybe trick my brain into thinking i was eating salsa, but it still wasn't good. I ordered what i typically get when i go to taquierias, just a simple chicken burrito with all the fixin's. It was good, but I've definitely had better. I asked to have sour cream and quac added to the burrito, and I think i only got one or two bites with either of those. There was also a lack of lettuce and tomatoes. The chicken itself was good but not enough to keep the whole burrito alive. My friend got two carnitas tacos which although he said were really good, but not the best he's had. I'm willing to give this place another try because it comes so highly regarded. Perhaps for breakfast next time, I do love breakfast burritos!

  • Cory S.

My review is pretty opposite of most of the others. I like the decor of this place! It is pretty worn but it feels comfortable, a good atmosphere. The people that work here are real friendly too. They have this old yellow station wagon thats always parked outside that has 'jalisco's' written on the side. I dunno why, but it always makes me smile. The food is why I'm not a big fan of this place. I've been here several times and I'm never happy. My GF always gets a stomach ache after eating here too.

  • Orlando C.

i've been eating here for about 12 years and they are fairly consistent. we really enjoy the steak and egg breakfast, pozole, albondigas, and chile rellenos. the rice and beans are good too. the flour tortillas are handmade and are great for mopping up beans :D i have no idea what people mean when they call their food (or any food) "authentic", but the breakfast dishes are pretty close to what i grew up with in southern california :P

    (3)
  • Lance L.

There is no arguing that this place has great tasting food, and the quality of the ingredients are the tops. But $4+ for a taco and $9+ for a burrito?? Are you kidding me?? Sorry, too pricey.

    (3)
  • Calvin R.

SUPER COOL PEOPLE! i always get the chicken enchilada a la carte and they hook up the salsa etc. i love this place! great buy!

    (5)
  • Kay H.

Love, love, love their foods. I have been to many mexican restaurants and no other places can make chicken enchiladas like Jalisco's. I wish they would package their hot salsa and sell them by the gallons so I can drink it! I do dislike the location, it's tough turning left on Campbell Ave. but then again if they ever decide to move to the opposite side of the street I'd go there everyday and I'd be so fat I'd never leave the house except to take more food out from Jalisco's.

    (5)
  • Nunya B.

Best little Mexican restaurant. Been eating the food here forever. I love the Verde and Colorado sauces but always end up getting the chili reallno (can't spell it) and shredded beef hard shell taco. Mix your own salsa to your liking. Get genuine service, excellent and authentic food recipes that has been "proudly" served over 3 generations. YUMMY FOOD, REASONABLY CHEAP, TRY IT!

    (5)
  • Aimee T.

This place rocks. I don't know what it is...maybe the friendly atmosphere, the yummy salsa or the homemade flour tortillas (they are addicting), but my boyfriend and I like to eat here once a week. I'm pretty critical when it comes to food, but this little hole in the wall has won my heart! Warning: Jalisco's is not for dieters; they really pack on the cheese! They do, however, really want to cater to your needs. I'm a vegetarian and most taquerias cook with lard, but lucky for me this place uses vegetable oil. You can also choose whole beans instead of refrieds for a healthier alternative. If you have any questions about the menu, just ask; they are so helpful. They are family owned and run, which is nice b/c it's kinda rare these days. Well, I have to go put in my order...I just got an email asking if I want Jalisco's tonight...no joking!!!

My family always does Mexican Mondays and more times than not we all choose Jaliscos. We love the owner and the food is awesome and very authentic. Great little Campbell hideway. Only thing I would change would be to replace some of the seating.

  • Shagen M.

It pains me to give this place 4 stars but in all honesty it's the price that makes me do that. I've been going here for 10 years now and I really love their food. Not to mention the family who runs the place is really nice. However, based on the atmosphere (or lack of) and the price, I'm a little disappointed lately. For just my husband and I with no alcohol and two dinner plates (a one item and a two item dinner) it came to almost $40!! We still go every once in a while just for old times sake but if you're searching for value this is not the place.

  • Sheila M.

We have been coming here for years, including all it's past locations too. The Carne Asada is Sooo Good with the fresh guacamole and whole beans! I like just about everything on the menu, and when I want something a little different, they are always willing to accomodate my wishes. You couldn't ask for a nicer staff. Don makes great margaritas, and the salsas are excellent.

I walk in and see that arcade game/vending machine thing with the claw and you try to grab a stuffed animal.... I see the serve yourself salsa and "Mexican water" .... aaaand I see the football game playing on the old school TVs, as opposed to plasma or LCD. I eat some delicious fattening mexican food and I think to myself, "I am home."

  • Kevin H.

Anyone who give this place a bad review and calls this place "unauthentic" is an absolute moron. This place has the best mexican food in town at good prices considering the gigantic portions you get, and the atmosphere is very low key and family oriented. Jalisco has been here for years for a reason - BECAUSE IT'S AWESOME!

    (5)
  • Julie M.

Our family has been going to Jalisco's for 15+ years. It is consistently great food, never mixes up our order, super friendly service.. .they take the time to know their regular customers by name. The decor is tired, but very comfortable, I wouldn't change a thing! The taco carne asada and toquitos are my favorites. The best margaritas too.. nothing watered down here!

  • Bette P.

We've been eating at Henry's at least a couple of times a month for over 25 years and the food has been consistently great. The tortillas are a favorite, I take mine home and make quesadillas next day for lunch. I usually get the Shrimp Dinner, and my husband gets the Steak Ranchero dinner. Makes my mouth water just thinking about them! You stand in line to place your order, then pick up your silverware, chips and a selection from the salsa bar and find a table. If no tables are available (it gets crowded at peak hours) one usually will be by the time your order is ready. We take-out if it's really crowded. Whenever we go to another Mexican restaurant we invariably shake our heads and say, "It's good, but not like Henry's!"

Good solid tasty mexican food with an owner that is such a nice guy. Not much to say about this place except it deserves your visit.

the nachos are amazing. the food is always great, the only downside is sometimes when I go in the place is completely packed with high school kids, but hey they gotta eat too right?

tiny little hole in the wall near downtown Campbell - this place should take the award for good service and really really good mexican food. I was a little disappointed that when i asked for tacos they served hard shell tacos. Genuine mexican tacos should be served with soft corn tortillas. Oh well, asking for the right kind ahead of time fixes that issue. Food is great and salsas rock!

I've been eating at Jalisco's since I was a kid, this place is a family favorite... I always get the same thing, cheese enchilada plate, but the times I do try other things, I'm never disappointed. This restaurant is family owned an operated, and it's nice to be greeted with a "nice to see you again" when you walk through the door.. 5 stars all the way!!!

I attended with big boo and baby boo. Big boo was pleased with his $4-something taco - filled up on it pretty much. baby boo was in a bit of a funk and nibbled his ground beef-and-cheese only taco. It was also quite large, big boo couldn't finished it all. I had the 1/2 pozole. Me happy. The soup was tasy and I'd have it again. The salsas were tasty and on the spicy-side. Consider it a warning to those who don't prefer the spice and an accolade to Jaliscos MUY BUENO. gimme more spicy. I liked it - its family owned and operated. There is TLC in every bite. Try it and support the local economy.

This spot is down the street from my office and the limited amount of times I've eaten there it's been good. The seating accomodations could use an update, but other than that I like it. The margaritas are good too.... a welcome addition to any meal.

Been coming here for AGES. The food is ridiculously good. The chicken just melts in your mouth. So awesome. It's family owned and operated with husband taking care of the front while wife whips up the grub. They are always happy to see you and make you feeling like part of the family. This is what eating out is all about.

Ate their tonight. A laid back place, couple of tv's to watch the game. The problem is the food is very average. I had an enchilada. The rice was fluffy, the chicken was tender, but everything was bland. This would be a good Mexican place for South Dakota. There are too many good places for Mexican in the Bay Area to make a return trip here.

Why doesn't anyone mention about their MENUDO!!! Dayam Americanized kids! Always reviewing the burritos and tacos! If you're hard core Mexican like me, stop by on Sundays and order the menudo! Served home-style with tender tripe, chili spices, and chickpeas this was the perfect cure for my fever and cold. No fancy ingredients or colorful reds, this was made like abuela's. Big shout out to Henry for hooking me up with the menudo! I'll be saving the last star for other dishes here. This is an old fashion mom and pops restaurant that reminds me of old San Jose... long before Baja Fresh and Taco Bell. I came here on Sunday afternoon after visiting the Running Revolution. I'm fighting this fever and needed an ass kickin' lunch. Campbell should be proud to have Jalisco's in town. FYI - It's true that menudo cures the common hang over.... not a burrito.

Driven by a hundred times and finally tried this place for the first time this week for lunch...and ended up back the next day! Carne asada burritos were simple and fantastic. I can't wait to try some other dishes the next time. I love the casual atmosphere, and the staff was real nice both times I went in. Looking forward to my next visit!

friendly neighborhood place ... if i were one of those guests who enjoy talking to owners and having them recognize me every time i go in, i would love this place sadly, i judge strictly on the blend of food / price ... and this place is OK good, but high on price thus, a 3 star A-OK for me

i found this place on yelp because i started a new job in the area and wanted a good burrito. i rank them at a 4.5 rounded down to a 4 only because i'm from San Diego and spoiled on really cheap and good mexican food. I think this place should be two $$ instead of one $ because most of their plates are near or over $10 and just a single taco is $4.25, which is kind of steep. The employees there are really nice and is the reason i am giving them a high ranking. Even though they were busy with the lunch rush, 1 employee was at the register and the other was walking around cleaning tables and talking to customers. i was surprised how much he was talking to me considering how busy they were. i didn't read the past 45 reviews of this place but if anyone bad mouthed the guy with the Mexican mustache i will just say up front that he is not a d*ck, he just had a cool, down to earth sense of humor. Food = i had a regular chicken burrito. it was good, the hot sauce was good. and you got to love free chips, salsa, and jalapenos.

The food here is amazing! The food is very fresh, and the people who run this restaurant are really nice. Don't be expecting any fancy The decor is severely lacking, but they make up for it in the food - that's what counts! Everything on the menu is yum. The chicken tostada is a favorite of mine, also the soft tacos. Everything is good here.

I was introduced to Jalisco's about a year ago by a dear friend...and it's now our "go to" place for a great meal! The owner Henry is usually there to greet you and take your order. I love how he jokes around with my kids, makes us feel so welcome. The food is great..and the tortillas are amazing! Great salsa and chips and guacamole!!

  • Zuha R.

is alright. The flour tortillas are good. Don't order the chile rellenos, it is alll breading and you know it has just been nuked. the sauce for the enchiladas is weird. the margaritas are good. overall this place, as far as food goes, is not a good/true mexican restaurant. the service isn't that great, they have their regulars so they don't try to get new customers in.

No it's not the most amazing Mexican food i've ever had-- but at the same time it hasn't disappointed, and I think it's better than the place in the Pruneyard. I tried their Chicken Quesadilla today with beans and cheese on the side and it was yummy. The guy who helped me was super nice too. Yeah you pay a little more but it beats Taco Bell, Taco Bravo and like I said the place in the Pruneyard.

5 stars for outstanding customer service and great food at Jaliscos. The owner is a good hearted person and the place is family owned so its all about the customer here. The place is not the hugest but there it is probably the best and most authentic Mexican food in Campbell, Ca., hands down. The place has a jukebox and a very good enviroment to have lunch or dinner.

This is the 2nd time I have had these guys cater a party and the food was just as awesome this time as it was the first time around!! Their service is very friendly and Henry was very responsive in taking my order and getting me a price for the food quickly. They made is so much easier by delivering and setting up everything, the also proivded the little heating candles so the food stayed hot for hours. On the menu we had - chile verde with both corn and flour tortillas, chips and salsa, taquitos, cheese enchiladas, beans and rice. It was perfect for the amount of people we had (30). And everyone loved the food. Their prices are very reasonable and I will be using them again for future parties. Thanks Henry!! =) Muy Bueno!!!!!!

Came here for some tacos. Was in the mood for some quick, cheap, good food...how can you go wrong with tacos...right? The food was actually pretty good however my low rating is because I paid $15 for a taco plate and fruit punch jarritos....yep you read that right... $11: one carne asada taco w/ rice, beans & lettuce for salad, $2.70: jarritos + tax = $15. When I picked up my food and paid the guy rang me up and told me my total, I kind of chuckled thinking he had rang in the wrong order or something and I said "are you sure that's right, I only ordered a taco plate..." he looked at me kind of funny and told me that the taco plate was $11, I couldnt help it and I laughed again and insisted "are you sure?! I only order ONE taco!" he then pointed me to the menu and said that it was the correct price. In astonishment I handed over the $15 and went and sat down still giggling in disbelief. (I am still laughing as I write this) Ok so let me explain further why this was such an annoying experience. #1: this is not a full service restaurant, you go to the counter and place your order, they call your number when your food is ready then you pick up your food and pay for it at the counter. Yes, most taquerias are operated this way, however since they are not serving you at your table their prices are CHEAPER!! #2: My friend and her bf ordered food and their total price was $15 as well. They got food for two people + a bottled drink and theirs was the same price as mine?! My first reaction was well I must of somehow ordered more food than BOTH of them, so we compared what I ordered to what they ordered....uuuuuuuummmm yeah so here is what they got: 2 carne asadaTacos ala carte, carne asada taco plate with rice, beans and lettuce for salad, 1 bottled soda. The three of us compared the taco plate that I received to the plate that my friend had and we all could not tell the difference between ours. Same size taco, same size plate with the same amount of rice and beans. WHAT THE HELL?!!!! I decided to take a more calm route and sit and pick at my food quietly all the while pissed off that I just paid as much as I would have paid to order three times as much food (and much better quality might I add) from Iguanas. I am not going to say that the food was horrible because it wasn't, but I will never come back to this place....EVER.

I don't know what is going on at Jalisco's, but on rare occasions, they make a fantastic burrito. The rest of the time (most of the time), paying $10 for a super burrito gets you an over-sized, floppy tortilla stuffed with a gooey mixture of rice, beans, orange "cheese sauce" and meat. You may see a splash of color - a tomato here, a piece of cabbage there, but there's really nothing "super" about the burrito. It's just a huge pile of rice and beans. I really, really want to like Jalisco's, but they just let me down all the time. =( Plus, they use styrofoam containers. Boo.

This place makes my mouth water. The best margaritas! Handmade tortillas..I don't know of another place that still does this. The freshest and crunchiest taquitos ever! My friend recommended their chicken chimichanga the first time I went, and this is definitely something everyone must try! Their enchiladas and chorizo burritos are the bomb! They are always busy, and one must remember to be patient if ordering to-go during the weekends as they are a family-owned business.

I brought my husband here awhile back after I had eaten here the first time and he was not impressed. He just kept saying the prices are too high. It's been awhile since I've eaten here and have had a chance to eat at other Mexican places. Unfortunately, I have to agree with him. The prices are noticeably higher than other Mexican restaurants of the same caliber.

Ohhh Henry how i miss this place. We ate here 3-4 times a week for about 8 years. We moved and now only get over there when we are in town . we did visit today and man it is as good as ever.My plate was covered in cheese..This is hands down the best food ever and the people there I would consider family.

Best Mexican food all-around bar none! The enchilada sauce they use is delicious and the chili Colorado is great too. If you're a taco lover their "original" taco is my favorite. Every item I have tried here is extra tasty. Well worth the try if you want old-fashioned flavor.

I love this place. They care about the community, their family owned, and they make some of the best margaritas that I've had. Not to mention my favorite enchiladas. Check the place out, its very reasonable, you can't lose here if you like Mexican food.

The menudo and posole are great! When we come here on sundays, we always order menudo. Since they only serve menudo on sundays. and the same goes for the posole, they only serve it saturday. The staff is great, very friendly and they always remember who we are. I haven't tried the tacos or burritos but i'm sure they are delicious as well. Try it out! =)

I have been to Jalisco;'s a few times and have always ordered the same thing. 4 old fashioned beef tacos. Each time the price was different.$ 17.70-$ 19.90 The tacos were good so I tried again and asked the owner why the total was differnt each time. He said I was getting a discount. I hadn't asked for a discount but I wanted to know what the price for tacos was..Finally I was told they were $ 3.75 ea. I called to order today and asked again how much they were and was told that the "Board price was $4.65 ea and that they like to take care of their customers so they could be anywhere from $ 4.65 to $ 3.50 to $3.75" I asked again how much they were TODAY and was told $4.65 I re stasted my confusion about why they were different prices everyday. I never asked for a " discount" but I feel that their pricing is arbitrary and unclear, I asked them if they wanted my business or not and they said " No it;s okay" I'm done Jalisco you;re not the only place in town I can get tacos.

A couple friends from out of town really wanted some authentic Mexican food, and I had been going on about how I knew a bunch of great places. However, after reading rave reviews on Google and on Yelp I decided to take a leap of Yelp faith here and try this place out for the first time with them. Service was great, the guy behind the counter was nice. But that's about where the positive notes end. The food really wasn't that great, in fact I wasn't even able to finish it (which is pretty bad for my standards, since I'm a garbage pit for food). There were free nachos and salsa, but they weren't great by any means. And the actual restaurant looked as though it hadn't been renovated since the 80s. Actually, there were hanging signs above the counter that read HAPPY 2000, then underneath it said 2004. So at the very least they hadn't even taken the new millenium signs down 9 years ago. Honestly, I don't know what else there is in Campell, so it may actually be the best place around that area. But it isn't great by comparison to some of the other places I've had in San Jose.

Something about places with white plastic menus with hand-placed black lettering just strikes me as awesome. It certainly gives the place a nice spartan atmosphere, and I like the fact that it's nestled away in a strip mall, and not trying to be all trendy and pretentious. No, it's just ridiculously good. I visited with some co-workers and discovered that not only do they have a delish complimentary salsa bar, but they serve a vegetarian burrito that threatens to unseat the current champion, namely the authentic place across the street from my apt. (It's a close battle...I'm not sure which restaurant will win out). In any case, the veggie burrito was fabulous. No upset stomach afterward, just beans, rice, cheese, lettuce, guac, salsa...I inhaled the darn thing and found myself in a food coma afterward. I need to plan a return trip, because just writing about it makes me salivate. Mmmmm!

3.5 stars Back in the days of internship, this was one of our favorite haunts for Mexican food. The food is pretty good (the carne asada and carnitas are among my favorites) and I think the salsa is decent. However, being a stone's throw away from downtown Campbell means that the prices are higher than at comparable establishments.

I went there after this place was recommended by a co-worker. Place was crowded on Friday night. Clean, small place with a salsa bar. I ordered a spicy vege burrito to go. Worst vege burriot that I've ever eaten in my life, even after pouring all the salsa that I got. 4 stars ? Please get out of town and try a plcae frequented by some real amigos :-) Even Una-mas is way better than this place.

So I've had Jalisco twice now. The first time my wife brought me a carne asada burrito to Orchard Valley Coffee Shop (Which by the way is super chill, rad and full of friendly people), and the second time was last night. So when I received my 1st burrito from this place, I thought to myself, wow, this burrito is really really good, it must come from some posh looking fancy pants mexican restaurant. I mean it wasn't gourmet or anything, but it just had this unique feel to it. I can't explain it. So I went there last night, and let me tell you, this Taqueria looks like it has been around the block, then back, and then around and around again. Great sign, longevity usually means success. Jalisco looks like a hole in the wall taqueria, dark, weird juke box in the corner that plays videos along with music, funky pleather table clothes, and plastic cafeteria chairs. I ordered the same burrito as I had last time. Carne asada, sour cream, guac, beans and rice. The food came out fast and my burrito was really really good again! I'm definitely a fan. My only issue would be the size of the burrito, the price is good, but it's definitely a jr. compared to burritos you get from most taquerias. Then again, Wendy put me in check and said "How do you feel after most burritos you eat?".... "Ughh, like I'm soo full I want to puke"..... "What about this burrito"....."Just perfect". Still, my expectation for an average taqueria burrito is always "Holy shit, how am I gonna fit that in me".

This is the best Mexican food in Campbell! My husband brought me here a long time ago and told me it was his favorite. It soon became my favorite too and we have been coming ever since. I always get their chicken burritos- they are the best!

This is the best Mexican food we have found since moving up from SoCal. I was so spoiled by being able to go to any hole in the wall from LA to San Diego and getting good Mexican food. My boyfriend hates the beans in everything trend that seems associated with the bay area Mexican restaurants. This place definitely got it right! After 4 years of searching I can finally recommend a place that has me coming back 2xs+/mo with the best homemade tortillas I've ever had. And the refried beans: the BOMB! The meat is seasoned so well and the salsa has a unique taste that blends the food together...yummy. Oh yeah and make sure to try the guacamole, I didn't think the food needed to be added to but that guac makes my meals OUT OF THIS WORLD! :-)

For my money, there are only two Mexican restaurants in California that are worth the trip. The Los Robles Cafe in Paso Robles and Jalisco in Campbell. If you are also a transplanted Texan and have been searching for that perfect enchilada like you would get a Ojeda's or Pappasito's, then this is as close as you are going to get here in California. I have been in Silicon Valley 17 years and this is the first Mexican food place I actually liked - not a burrito joint (although they serve burritos here) but much closer to a true Tex-Mex place. I got the beef enchilada (which was great) and the cheese (which was very good). Also, the portions are huge. I am normally a three enchilada guy and the one beef/one cheese combo filled me up. Also, the place is probably a little more expensive than what you might be used to paying. I think the food is well worth it.

The food here is always great, the cooks are really good, the people who work there are pretty nice, the bar place is pretty unique as well, they have a lot of wall decorations around the place and it is always fun to look at while you are waiting for your food, the wait is pretty long if you are unlucky but the food is worth the wait. Sometimes this place gets hot during the summer but overall it is a good place to eat

It's not the fanciest of establishments, but the food is fresh and flavorful!! The Tacos are Superb! Cannot go wrong with basic tacos!! The burritos and enchiladas are very filling too.. When you walk in and order, the staff will be waiting and are very helpful. You wont pay until you food is ready and then you'll help yourself to a bowl of traditional chips and then you serve up your own salsa. 3- different types of reds and a kick'in green sauce!! They also have Jalapeños and onions if you need some!! They have bottles of beer, liter of Mexican Corona and even Bud in 40oz! Can forget the spirits! Just in case you want to chill and sip on a margarita and they have traditional Mexican soda. It's just a low key, local hang out! Give it a try!

My dads experience with this place. Ordered a Super Burrito ($9) to go. Dug in and realized they forgot to put guacamole and sour cream, mistakes happen. Talked to the owner and he said to come in and he would take care of it. Came in the next day and he gave my dad another burrito to go. Took it home and it was smaller than the regular burritos with, yet again, no gauc or sour cream... Called to ask him what it was all about and this.. word for word.. is what the owner said: "So what, do you want me to suck your c**k or what? Don't bother coming in here again" So disrespectful and out of line. Reporting it to BBB but thought his future customers should know what type of establishment they are supporting by coming here. My dad is a quite and passive guy. Who bullies people like that. This business isn't worth the ground it sits on.

  • Melissa G.

This was the worst Mexican food I've ever had. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. The beans and rice were flavorless as was the ground beef in my taco. The chile relleno was more cheese than chile and also had little flavor. To top it all off, the price was outrageous!!!! I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Wanted to love this place since its just down the street from my house, but the food just lacked flavor and freshness, and was much more expensive that I expected. I ordered carnitas tacos, and was disappointed by the bland meat. The salsa was okay, but nothing special. I'm spoiled coming from delicious taco truck tacos in Southern California, but even for Nor Cal this place didn't do it for me. On the bright side, the staff is very friendly and there is a lot of seating.

On Friday February 22nd we were waiting in the check-out line at the Almaden Expressway Costco in San Jose. I was trying to talk my wife to into Mexican for lunch. I was really playing around more than anything else when I pulled out my phone to do a Google voice search for "The Best Mexican Restaurant in Campbell, CA." Jalisco Mexican Food was the top rated Google search result and it had a 4 Star Yelp rating. Well with these endorsements from Google and Yelp my wife gave in. We arrived at the restaurant about 20 minutes later. We enjoyed trying a new restaurant and the was staff pleasant. However, the food wasn't a stand out when compared to the other local taquerías. I had the Chicken Barito and my wife and the Cheese Enchilada and Pork Tamale Combination Plate. The food was simply OK. There were several salsas but only one was exceptional. This restaurant does offer what appears to be a full bar which most other taquerías don't. Basically, in my opinion this restaurant is good and has potential but it's definitely not the best Mexican restaurant in Campbell. I may give Jalisco another try in a few months.

I've been coming to this place since I was in high school. AMAZING mexican food! I always get a bean cheese rice avocado buritto with carne esada sauce on the side and it comes with a side of rice beans and salad with that amazing red dressing. i love jaliscos!! and there's something about those damn tortillas... amazing! they're like kind of doughy but oh so good.

I want to like this place. I really really do - esp since it's around the corner. But let's be real people of Campbell...... this is not great Mexican or taqueria food. Perhaps if your only experience with Mexican is Taco Bravo or a can of Rosarita then this is a small step up. On the positive, it's run by a very nice family staff and I wish them well. But they have stiff competition with El Guapos down the street who make their own chips, salsas, offer soyrizo for veg heads and don't question you when you say you want your burrito 'super'. The food here is bland and lacks freshness or an authentic flavor. It's canned. Yes, I'm a jaded former San Franciscan dreaming of Cancun and Papalote but if I want a decent burrito or enchilada.... I'll go down the street to EG.

Excellent Mexican food and the FIRST place I've been to without a toxic amount of salt. It was very tasty, NOT salty and the pitcher of Margaritas was strong! None of these were expected results! Henry, the owner, was genuine, caring and really a stand up guy. Nothing but good things to say about this place! Thank you!

I hate that all the negative reviews on here are for people who ordered burritos and nachos - fake "Mexican" foods. Try a chile relleno, menudo, or posole. Homemade tortillas are to die for. Their pollo asado plate is amazing. Bottomless salsa and fresh chips. Been coming to Jalisco's since they were in Santa Clara and Henry's dad owned it. And now him, his sons, and nephews run it. Family who come in from out of town always want to go there because the quality has not dwindled in 30+ years.

I'm giving you pity points here, all I wanted was two bottled waters. The cashier proceeds to tell me that he's busy and stands there talking to his friend/customer. After they were done talking, the phone rings and he continues chatting with his friend on the other line. I waited about twenty minutes for two bottled waters. I repeat, twenty minutes.

Checked this place out because Tlaquepaque is closed on Mondays. I must admit I really feel like my fellow Yelpers let me down! I ordered the beef tamale and my girl got the beef taco. The tamale, along with the rice, was really bland and the taco wasn't even on Taco Bell's level. Price was very high too considering what we got. They do serve beer and have good salsa so it wasn't a total disaster. The staff was actually pretty cool too, but it's all about the food and I don't think we'll be coming back anytime soon.

An American-Mexican restaurant, perhaps good for teens or families that aren't picky about their food and do not want taqueria style mexican food and just want lots of salty food with lots of cheese. We found the food uninteresting and poorly prepared. We tried a beef taco, ranchero steak plate, chile relleno and a half order of quacamole. The guacamole was the best part -- at least it was house made, if lacking in any spicing. Salsa and onions were available, but nothing special. The relleno had a spongy crust and was smothered in cheese. The steak was tough and had a tomatoy-sauce but despite a few jalepenos in the sauce had little flavor beyond the tomato. The 'tortillas' where house made, but much more like Indian rotis than mexican tortillas. We knew we were in trouble when we had to special request onions and cilantro on the taco -- this is clearly an american restaurant. 1 star for the food, but I give them two stars overall for good service at the counter (they take special orders/requests, at least ours, with pleasure).

The food here is fantastic and very reasonable. Usually about 14 dollars for two people to eat till their full. Only reason why its not 5 stars is there is not much seating. Love this place.

I was standing in the wrong "spot" and the cashier made a rude ass comment saying "just because you're standing in front of me doesn't mean I'm going to take your order. " so then I moved over 2 feet (literally) to the "order" spot. this guy must have been reflecting on his sad life being 50 and a cashier making $7.25/hr on his 15min break, prior to taking my order. so I ordered the burrito. and it was a sad sad burrito, I took a pic check it out . it was so laughable. it wasn't even wrapped up. it was like a large taco, the tortilla was ripped and coming apart. it was all bad. I had to eat it with a fork. meat was bone dry. epic fail. the place is a dump. the seats are beat up, with holes and broken cushions. the workers are current or ex motorcycle gang members, we're talking handlebar mustaches and everything. and you never know so don't wear colors here. quepasa holmes? take your money to chachos or aqui.

I'm from Texas. This is not Mexican food...I asked for a taco. Mr mustache senior asked me what I meant.... 10 dollars for two tacos... and their cold....ill make my own from now on.

My family and I have eaten here a few times now. This is a family owned, neighborhood jewel of a restaurant! It's obvious that they have a large, loyal following. There hasn't been a time when I've not seen restaurant personnel engaged in warm conversation with regulars. The food is great, and the salsa is awesome!

Went pretty far out of my way to eat lunch at this place, based on fellow Yelpers' reviews. I have to assume that most folks are hammered when they eat here because the food is not good. Of the two tacos we ordered ($5 each!), the carnitas one was decent, but the chicken one was utterly flavorless. The carnitas burrito ($10!) was mostly overcooked rice and refried beans. Cripes, even Chipotle puts whole pinto beans beans in their little burros. And both the "cheese" and the lettuce are of the pre-shredded-in-a-bag variety. Grrr. No. Not for $10 a toss. Save your money and calorie budget for the nearby Orale -- a better product at a better price. Jalisco's one saving grace is that the guy behind the counter (the owner, perhaps?) was exceedingly nice. +1 star.

I love this place. Salsa - out of this world. Seriously the only place around here that knows how to make real salsa. Margaritas - PERFECT! They don't add all of that sugary syrup crap. They are delicious. Order at the counter, take a number. They'll call you up when it's ready, and that's when you pay. Prices are alright... The meal plate is a bit steep, and that's my only star deduction. But everything is homemade, and you get a decent amount of food. If you're unsure, go for a la carte items. I really like the burritos and tacos.

Love this place. My family has been coming here for years. The chicken original tacos with no cheese are my go to, usually with a side of gauc and Spanish rice. Help yourself to the chip and salsa bar! Nothing is every greasy, and all ingredients are fresh. The family who owns this business are very sweet and always so nice and accommodating. There is a small bar inside too if you wish to get your drink on!

Nachos with Carnitas, best anywhere!!! This place has been around forever, I used to go to two of the old locations on Stevens Creek and before that on San Carlos... always great, always fast. Yes, it can be a bit greasy sometimes, but the value is great and the flavor is always even better. Be sure to try the various sauces they have for the free chips... all are good!

The reason I give 5 stars is because their customer service is AMAZING! Every time I go in they are so welcoming and nice. They communicate well my friends and I. I wasn't sure what I wanted and it asked a lot of questions about the food. They were so helpful and nice. They didn't give attitude or anything like that. On top of that their food is good. Fair price. I love this place! Highly recommend :)

We really wanted to like this place - the owner was super nice, service was quick, establishment was clean, menu was extensive (and they have a small bar!) - but unfortunately, there was nothing overwhelming wonderful about the food. My boyfriend ordered the shredded chicken tacos and he felt it was flavorless and a little tough. I had the beef tostada and again, nothing very special about it. However, since all my fellow Yelpers LOVE this place, we will give it another shot in the future :-)

REMEMBER, this place has nothing to do with the Jaliscos in San Jose, and also, remember that the name is followed by, "Mexican Food", rather than, "Taqueria". In any case, this should give you a clue of what you're getting. Anyways, in regards to the burritos and salsa dip (we didn't order anything other than that), this place is AWSOME if you want a TACO BRAVO/ TACO BELL burrito. It's similar, but in a hugggeee portion. If you dine in like my girlfriend and I did a few weeks back, you will be surprised by a humungadunga son of a giant man's burrito. We ordered two super burritos (think supreme burrito from taco bell in taste, but multiplied by 5, portion wise) and some unfortunate events that happened to us, I shall pass over onto you as a tip. Don't be too confident when you bite into the previously stated burrito. It will fall apart, and become a burrito bowl. It doesn't help that the burritos here aren't wrapped in foil, so just be a bit cautious. Nah, it'll will turn into a burrito bowl no matter how you eat it. The salsa dip is meh, a little bit closer to bleh due to the fact that every salsa I tried was not spicy, nor mild. One even tasted like diced tomatos in water. If you're into diced tomatos in water, then....yummy yummy in your tummy I guess. So in short, don't come here expecting an authentic Mexican burrito, come here expecting an Americanized burrito. Don't forget to bring your hot and mild sauce packets from Taco Bell. You'll thank me.

I've been eating Jalisco for years... before I ever even stepped into their restaurant.! Growing up with the owner's sons was the highlight of every football dinner in high school. The family is just so friendly and genuine. The place is always packed during dinner time! The parking lot can get kind of crazy, so maybe try stopping by the restaurant before the big rush, especially if you're with a big group. Jalisco has a special place in my heart. I always try to make a trip every time I go back home... not just because the home-made tortillas are delicious, but because the food and horchata are SOLID and DELICIOUS.

I've been going to Jalisco's for a long time, at least 10 years. They have the best crispy chicken tacos ever. I have eaten at so many different Mexican places and I can honestly say, Jalisco's crispy chicken tacos are my absolute favorite.

If you are going to judge a venue, you need to assess it for what it is and what its competitors offer. You have to take Jalisco's for what it is and based on that rubric, it was excellent. The tortillas are obviously made on site and this is the healthiest mexican food I have had. Sure, it is not spicy, but that is the beauty of it, you can kick it up a notch with heat, but you dont need to do that with flavor. In fact, for the first time in my life I had a Carne Asada burrito with nothing but the tortilla and the actual meat - it was THAT good. I will be back here over and over again when I am looking to hang out and enjoy great food in a good counter-style food ordering format. I had a blast, and the margaritas were the best I have had in many many moons. Good job over there and I cant believe that I just had my first visit there this past week!

I've been coming here since high school! All my 05, 06, 07 Westmont boyz would come here after school and chow down. I still come back, except now it's to pregame and get food before we hit up the bars in dt campbell :P I would just have to say: great food, great service, and most of all, great PEOPLE who run the place!

I don't really believe that this place deserved 2 stars. If could I would have rated it 2 1/2 stars. But according to yelp's description for each star, they are more close to 2. Walking in, the place gives off more of a diner vibe than a mexican restaurant. Probably was a diner in the past and they didn't care to change it. Not a big deal, I actually don't mind it. It was 7 at night as the place dark like a mexican diner themed bat cave. The few lights they did have on were florescents, and I'm not of those people who find comfort in those lights. Small deal. Overall, -1 star for decor and overall vibe of the store. So I ordered a veg burrito for 5.45. Not bad price, but not great. Didn't help that I got a taco instead though. Since I ordered to go, I was too lazy to hike back to complain for an actual burrito. So.... -1 star. But the taco was pretty big and not bad at all. Would've taken off 3 stars if the taco tasted like horse food. I got the food fast though, didn't wait 3 minutes before I got it. So not all bad. I got chips with the order, which I am eating while writing this. I would've given them 3 stars... if I didn't find a lump of corn batter soaked in oil. Kinda gross, but not really. Still might've given them 3 stars. Then I ate something that was like hay straw or hair or something... ok -1 star. Giving me a crapload of chips to balance it off was what made me care less about it. All in all, its a good place to eat if you're desperate for food. Food isn't bad, but just examine before you put it in your mouth. No thats not what she said. Prices are not competitive compared to other places. Wouldn't recommend if there are other options. Got Food Poisoning. Thinking of taking off another star since I had to go toilet hugging for a bit. Decided against it. That's how good the taco was. Good and bad I suppose.

This place is fuc**** terrible. Horrible service. The guy with motorcycle beard acted extremely rude. I'm allergic to yellow yoke, so I nicely asked for 4 egg whites and before I could finish his exact words were "oh come on man, are you serious?" I said "yes, what's wrong with what I said?" he continues to nod his head and roll his eyes out of frustration. His exact words were "I gotta keep food rolling and keep orders consistent, your order is going to take to long, plus the price gets expensive" I was already upset from the get go, and was holding myself back from from swinging over the counter and knocking him out, but instead I replied "I do not want to eat here, you are ride and should not complain about orders that customers ask for" he continues and said "you don't have to" and walked away. This was frustrating, just got done with a 30 mile bike ride and was starving and heard great things about this store, but after the way he treated me I would rather starve and bike ride to mcdonalds. I will soon come back and speak with the owner and complain and hope to have him learn a lesson. You really can't treat guests like that. ALSO when my friend picked up the food, the guy had the nerves to say "if he is trying to eat healthy, why is he outside smoking" Wow really, it's not for healthy reasons it's because I'm ALLERGIC. TO TOP IT OFF this same gentleman served alcohol to a minor. He is only 16 years old. I have a photos to show proof and a eye witness. So say good bye to your alcohol license. I will pay and do whatever I can to report this to the fullest extent. All I asked for was 4 egg whites.

Had the chicken taquitos several times in the past, and the last 3 times I had to run for the bathroom within about 15 minutes! It has been a few years since I have been there, so I tried them again today hoping things were better but -- guess what? Same outcome. Not sure how often they change their oil, but it makes me sick every time so that's it. Not going back. Maybe their other items are better, but I can find those elsewhere closer to home (Sunnyvale).

This is a long time family business. The food is fantastic. Henry...the owner...is personable, helpful, and friendly. The other folks there all fit in this category. Super nice folks. The place is a bit dated but who cares. It's most known for the Mexican food. They do take out. You can call in or just walk in and order. I've done take out just once and they made sure the order was complete. The placed chips and salsa in the bag as well. Generous portions too. I had read another reviewers information about how she complained of the price of the tacos. Well...these are not tacos like you would get at Taco Bell. One or two of these and you're full. Come on reviewers...you can't blame the merchant for your inability to check the prices on the items you order. For what you get here at Jalisco's...the price is very good. Yum!!! Like I always say...go try and judge for yourself. Everyones taste and expectations are different.

I've been eating at Jalisco's for about 5 years now. Their food is really delicious, I always get the shredded beef burrito with guacamole and sour cream inside and beans, cheese, and a small salad on the side. The employees are super friendly and already know what I'm going to order before I tell them. My only complaint is that they never give you a receipt or tell you how much they're charging you for a certain meal. My step-dad swore he would never come here again after they charged him about $30 for a few burritos. When he asked them how much everything was separately, apparently they didn't answer and just handed him his change. Their way of charging and operating is a little sketch, but that doesn't stoop me from eating here. Their food is overall delicious

I love me a good dining dive find, but this place didn't fill the bill for us. Obviously there were a lot of regulars there. They place was full and it was a Friday evening. Kudos for not having glaring million watts lights in the place. We were digging it while we waited for our food as the salsas were very good and there was lots of velvet paintings to gawk at. We enjoyed the home made tortillas and the chili verde. The carne asada burrito was average, as well as the sides for the chili verde. The cost was pricey for what we got and the dining environment. I didn't appreciate looking at finished plates stacked on the tables as tables weren't bussed in a timely manner. New patrons found a table and pushed the used dishes to the side or carry them to the front cashier. Don't think I would recommend this place. There are more desirable Mexican eateries in the area for us.

Jalisco serves the best tamales in the Bay Area. The masa is perfect, the beef is flavorful, and the tamale is smothered in plenty of enchilada sauce. The rice is a little wet compared to my grandmother's standards, but still fantastic. Jalisco makes great enchiladas too. The owner Henry is a great guy, you just have to talk to him. As for the ambiance, this isn't a place for serious date and/or business meeting. The last time I was there I decided to dine in. After I sat down, Steve Wozniak (Founder of Apple computers) comes walking through the door. He shouts, "Hey Henry! How are you doing?" They both joke around for a little bit. I'm sitting there dying in shock because I just saw the man who created the computer and revolutionize the world. Yet, I didn't want to sound like an idiot and say something to him, so instead I said nothing :(. So Woz orders his food and is standing at the counter waiting for his order, and a lady looks at him. Lady: Hey, you look familiar? Woz: Oh hello (I'm thinking, she's going to say, "Oh didn't you co-found apple?" Or "Don't you work with Steve Jobs?" No she says..) Lady: I think I saw you on dancing with the stars. Was that you? Woz: Oh yes (Jokes around with her) I nearly had a heart attack, but Woz is a great guy, he takes it all in stride. Anyways, if the place is good for Woz, the place is good for anyone. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I really like this restaurant when I want Mexican food. They have great food; I especially like the enchiladas lunch plate which includes a salad, beans and rice. The chips and salsa are also addicting. The atmosphere is casual but I go there for the food not ambience.

I come here all the time since I live in the area. The food is good and reasonably priced. The meat is really flavorful here. I usually go with the carne asada or carnitas. Oh, and I don't know what it is about their re-fried beans, but they are the bomb. They are the perfect consistency with the gooey melted cheese on top. Mmmm.... The staff is pretty friendly, although the one older dude with the long, combed back hair always seems a wee bit cranky. I don't think he likes me very much. Maybe it's because I'm difficult and indecisive at times when I'm ordering my food.

You Decide - Lunch: one soft taco with (stewed-like) carnitas + whole beans (filler?), mushy/wet mexican rice, beans, typical small lettuce salad topped with atypical sweet red french dressing. Served on a small plate. The salsa bar was a bartender drink condiment container. Salsa Mexicana tasted like 1 part tomato to 9 parts eyewatering onion. After lunch I glanced at my two teenage kids (who'll normally wolf meals) and noticed they were politely quiet and withdrawn and had basically stirred the contents of their lunch plate giving the appearance that they ate some. $10.25 per lunch, with no drinks.

I love this place! Its the best hole in the wall Mexican joint I have found. family owned and operated, great drinks and home cooking or rather as the owner explained to me, "its mexican food made in America" I love the chicken mole which more like a gravy and the homemade qacamole. Oh and the Thursday meatball soup is the best soup I have ever got! (simple flavor and packed with stuff)

Stop whining about how expensive this place is, people. $11 for a giant plate of food ain't bad at all. And do you really care that there's a tiny tear in your chair? C'mon now- THEY COVER EVERYTHING IN CHEEEEEEEEEEEESE! My girl and I arrived around 6pm to a pretty packed house. We ordered up our chicken enchiladas (at her recommendation since this was my first visit) and took a nearby booth. We munched on our chips. I preferred the medium salsa as the mild reminded me a lil too much of tomato soup. Ok, so if this place was trying to be fancy the decor could use an update... but honestly I think the slight shabbiness added to the atmosphere. They have velvet paintings of horses on the wall and the water pitcher says "Imported from Mexico- drink at your own risk"! No chandeliers or satin pillows in the booths and I was definitely OK with that. Especially after our order came up. Oh cheesy chicken enchiladas... I could spend hours with you. No really. But we actually ended up scarfing down our respective meals in about fifteen minutes!! They have this amazing rice that I just couldn't stop eating. Beans were fantastic. The little salad was good for my self esteem- I'm eating healthy, stop staring at me while I shovel food into my mouth! And the enchiladas were everything I wanted. Tons of white chicken meat, slathered in sauce and cheese. Yum.

I LOVE this place. the family that works here & cooks here, Ahhh-mazing! I got the carne asada burrito with everything & a cheese & onion enchilada. My mouth was in heaven! Delicious full of sauce & juices, oh my my so yummy. the prices are fair & the environment is relaxed. What I really enjoyed was as My Mother & I waited for our food, the owner was playing with one of his more familiar customers kids, while she ate or what not at their table. Thats fantastic to see! He had orders being filled & finally had time to relax. & instead of taking a break he was all smiles, joyfully playing with this child while her mother ate & whatnot. Thats not something you see everyday, he really values his customers. I see a lot of the people that came in he new by name or waved at them like they were old friends. Great experience! When we left they waved & wished us a good day. Really impressed, can't wait to come back!!

I've been dining at Jalisco's with my friends and family for over 15 years. This is (and always will be) my favorite restaurant. I approach the counter and notice that restaurant owner Henry is taking orders. "Whats going on Henry?" He replies "Same ol s***." That's the same response I've been getting when ever I enter Jalisco's and I wouldn't have it any other way. Here's a bit of heaven for you, "breakfast burrito with bacon, eggs, cheese and potatoes. Side order of rice and a pink lemonade." That's my order. The beef taquitos are amazing. The chicken enchiladas are also excellent. I can't forget to mention this place also offers complimentary chips and house salsa which is located right next to the bar.

Friendly place, nice service, good salsa bar. A-okay on the beans and rice. Unfortunately, the chicken burrito I got was the blandest food I have ever eaten. I don't know if you'll believe me, but the sauce tasted like NOTHING. It was the weirdest sensation, to know you're biting into a burrito and to not have any flavor accompany it. I could taste the chicken (which was moist, and seemingly all white meat), but the orangey-brown salsa that coated it remains a mystery.

This update is based on their catering. My husband wanted Jalisco to cater his birthday party. We talked to Henry, the owner, about what we wanted. He was friendly & explained how their process works. We went with chicken enchiladas, beef tamales, guacamole, and the standard sides: rice, beans, salsa, chips, tortillas. Two days later, we got a quote, and it was extremely reasonable. We picked up the food on the day of the party. There was a lot of it! They supplied us with trays, warmers, and serving utensils. Everything was a hit. The tamales were miles better than what I had at the restaurant. The beans were vegetarian; they weren't topped with a single shred of cheese. At the end, only the chips, rice and beans remained, since there was so much of them. So while I'm still "meh" on dining in the restaurant, we'll definitely consider Jalisco in the future for our party needs.

Their chicken nachos are in my top five nachos of all time. Probably top 3, maybe top 2. Burritos aren't great, but why would you be a tard and order one when you should be ordering the chicken nachos. Also, they're better if you get them to go because the tin that they come in is filled up with melted cheese, making it an incredible soupy dream. The regular salsa's pretty good, but the hot salsa's awesome, and you should ask for a cup to fill up for use with your to go nachos. Even though you should order to go for the cheese soup box, you should eat it there so you can enjoy a cool bud 40 or corona 32.

I have been going to this place for over 5 years and there is nothing wrong with this place. The food is great the people are great and the overall atmosphere is very relaxed. Henry and his family are a staple in campbell. I recommend the carna asada tacos or the chilli verda burrito with ranchero sauce. Cant beat those two!

  • Cecilu C.

You know, it super confuses me why people would give this place so many positive reviews. I had lunch here this week and i have to say, the food was super horrible and expensive, but then again it's Campbell so that part is my fault. Anyway, I came in in the mood for some really good mexican and trusting my fellow yelpers, I knew I'd be in for a treat. Yeah, right! I ordered an enchilada. One enchilada, mind you, with a side of rice. first off, enchiladas aren't made with american cheese! second, the salsa was straight from a can! authentic, right? the rice was clumpy and flavorless. I couldn't believe that people were actually labeling this as mexican!!! There was nothing mexican about this dish! but like i said, this is what i get for thinking good mexican food exists in campbell. Don't get me wrong, I love campbell, but this place, not so much. Oh! I almost forgot, this lovely meal cost 10 bucks!!! one enchilada and rice= 10 bucks! can you imagine what it would have cost had it been actually good??

  • Graydon M.

This place is a hole in the wall in the truest sense of the word but don't let that put you off because inside is a real gem. This family run establishment has all the real mexican basics and does them very well. Don't look for fajitas or fish tacos though as they don't have them (much to my son's dismay). You order your food at the counter and then pay when you pick up your food. Chips and Salsa are self serve over on the side. The food is good, hot and there is plenty of it. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I think I've found our new favorite mexican place.

I moved to San Jose in 1961 and was introduced to Jaliscos within the 1st year I lived here when they were on San Carlos a block or 2 west of Meridian. I followed them to their other locations. I missed them when they were closed for a year or 2 in the '90s. I have never found another Mexican restaurant I enjoyed as much. They have the best chili relleno in town (too bad the sauce is so blah). I have never been disappointed with a meal there. I usually order a beef enchilada and a chili relleno ala carte. I do not need the rice and beans. That is the right size of meal for me and at a reasonable price.

Price - not bad. Meat - flavorful. Guys behind the counter - rad. lots of personality Remember, I'm not a big fan of Mexican -- but I have a "thing" for Jalisco's. I actually crave their carne asada quesadillas.

  • Beth K.

I've been a fan of Jaliscos since 1971! We went to the San Carlos location when I was a kid. I would always get the cheese enchilada w/out onions. The one thing I like about Jaliscos is that their food is always predictable. Always looks & tastes the same... Deliciousness! Ask them if there is anything they can make that's not on the menu! There's always a surprise in doing that. The flautas are great. Their guacamole is the best thing on the menu!

A bunch of us finished a long run in the park and swung by here for a quick dinner. Once you walk right in, you will notice plenty of seats and the giant menu board. This place is a little dark probably because all of the dark seating creating that feel and the lack of lighting. I tried their Chicken Quesadilla without the beans and cheese on the side. The portion was an appropriate size like the size of your hand. It taste good but beware of the cheese oozing out. I ended up using 5-7 of their mini paper napkins just to clean my fingers. Some of my friends ordered chicken and beef burritos. Their portions are HUGE and they didn't even finish the whole thing. Complimentary chips and salsa are on the counter. Self served and you can get as many as you want. I went through 5 plates since I was craving it so badly.

A friendly family owned establishment with a long history of great casual dinning. I like their original taco and a hearty helping of their many salsa's and chips!

Jalisco's has the best Mexican Food in the South Bay! Tacos, beans, enchiladas are so yummy and the owners are so nice and make you feel at home... Awesome place!

This is a really solid, family friendly place. The food is good and the portions are big. Back in high school, I used to come into this place once a week and was never disappointed. They pretty much use one sauce for everything, but it's good, so I don't mind. Chips and salsa are complimentary and good, homemade stuff. It can get a little loud sometimes. I'm writing this review because I was wasting time surfing the internet yesterday and I saw the title of a video, "girls' cat fight in San Jose Mexican restaurant". Having grown up in San Jose, I was of course intrigued, so I watched the video. It was pretty gross. You can search for it yourself, if you are so inclined. Anyway, as it turns out, Jalisco is the sort of place where you might get dinner AND a show. That's a plus for me, and made me want to go home for a visit.

I love Jalisco! It is our favorite place by far, pretty much out of anything. The food is amazing and authentic-totally home-cooked and fresh. They have the best salsas...the roasted jalapenos rule! The prices are very reasonable, esp. given the quality of the food. The owner, Henry Morado, is a really nice guy-he and his family are very cool. The place has a real homey feeling because of this. The burritos, tacos, enchiladas, tamales, breakfast dishes-YUM! Campbell's finest for sure.

I ordered the ala carte chicken burrito for about $5.50. It was wrapped in a taco sized tortilla and fit on a small dessert plate. The cashier asked if I wanted beans and rice in it, so I said yes. To my surprise the burrito only had chicken, beans, and undercooked rice in it. Go to la vics or any other semi decent Mexican place instead. Campbell has been very disappointing lately.

4 stars out of 74 reviews???? If a friend or coworker ever drags you here for lunch or dinner, bring a vomit bag... It was the worst Mexican I've ever had. I can tell it wasn't just a one off bad deal because the ingredients were just not good. Think of really bland Americanized Mexican but really poorly prepared as well. The salsa tasted alright but I don't think it was freshly made. In fact I don't think anything I had was freshly made. The interior is blah, but that's alright for a Mexican restaurant, since good food and a fine Micheladas will make up for it, but not so in this case. Really, there are so many great Mexican restaurants and taquerias in the area, this isn't one of them.

Went in for lunch. For one taco during lunch it was $4.55. One taco. I asked the cashier guy to make sure I read that right. He said they were big tacos, so I ordered one. Let me just say they are not big tacos. They are the usual, expected, small tacos. Sure they try to fill it up the best they can, but a little tortilla can only hold so much. $4.55 for that small taco was a rip off, plus the guy lied. Thank goodness I did not get the rice and beans for an extra $4.95. Those were on the skimpy side too, and way overpriced. Who charges $9.50 for a small taco and a small serving of rice and beans? I only give it two stars since it did taste good. But still, way overpriced for their tacos and rice & beans. I won't be going back.

Absolutely delicious authentic mexican food. The carnitas is divine. This is not a fancy place, very taqueria-ish. The chips aren't anything special, but the salsa is yummy. It's very inexpensive. I'll keep going!

A friend introduced me to this place. It's good, more of a old school type of place. Simple menu with basics on it. The portions are HUGE. I have gotten the chicken taco and chicken quesadilla before but it proved to be too saucy for my likes - by saucy I mean they don't fully drain the chicken before serving it, so eating a dish there with chicken in it is definitely a needing a fork type of meal. My favorite here is the chile relleno. It is hard to find a place that does these just right - but Jalisco's comes as close as possible to the way my mom makes them. I rarely can finish my dinner which comes with a large side of rice and beans and a small salad. The wait here is never bad even when busy. The staff is nice and yes when you ask whoever is behind the counter what is good they will say everything is good.

I LOVE this place. I've been coming here since I was a little girl with my family.. The chicken tacos are to DIE for.. Their special "sauce" that they cook the chicken in is delicious...tastes almost like a gravy. Their salsa and chips? Home made. Tortillas? Home made. Everything is home made.. The pizza place next door even orders chicken from there to put on their pizzas! It's THAT good! Yaah, the walls are white. And the seats are torn. But that's what makes it home. If it was all ritzey, it wouldn't be Jalisco. The family who owns this really goes out of their way to make kids feel welcome and it's so family oriented. The owner, henry, even has his two sons grad decorations up as an important memory. ANYWAY. Bottom line. AMAZING food, CHEAP, Sweet family, And if it's your first time here, get the chicken tacos! YUM =)

OMFG Delicious. I got the nachos with the bbq pork. While nachos are a lot of work to eat (to me), it was very much worth it. Salsa was okay and the chips were good. I love how the chips were part of the salsa buffet. But it's true, the booths are gross and sticky and the whole place could use a wipe-down. Not gonna lie, probably gonna go here again.

I love Mexican food, especially from taquerias like this. I liked this place the first time we came that I in fact came back a second time that week. The food the first time was definitely better the first time we ate there. We liked our meals so much that we ordered the same thing again. The problem the second time was with the chicken in my wife's burrito. Dry and not as flavorful as the first time around. Plus it was chunked into pieces instead of "shredded". No big deal there. However, what turned me off was that when I asked the guy behind the counter why they charge $7 for rice, beans and a small bowl of lettuce he didn't really have an answer. It's roughly $4.50 for a taco. (which is pretty expensive in it's own right) How about when you want to get the "dinner" or plated version of the taco? You still get a taco, but for an additional $7 you get a serving of rice, refried beans and a small bowl of lettuce. A bit of a ripoff, no? My super burrito was good, but not much meat for the size you get. It's mostly filled with that $7 rice and beans.

These tacos are so expensive its stupid. $4.25 each taco, are you kidding me?! We ordered and the guy at the front said to pay when the food comes out, if I had any idea the tacos were that expensive I would've walked out and gone to Sals. The tacos are bigger then normal taquerias but not by much. And especially not worth the extra $2-3! I can make better tacos at home. I also asked for pico de gallo on my tacos and didn't get that either. $13 for 3 tacos, no thank you. Definitely won't be coming back here. Thanks for ripping me off when I already don't have any money!

I've been frequenting Jaliscos for many years now. It's a little icon in Campbell that every one knows about. It's your average hole in the wall Mexican restaurant. The owners have always been really nice. I like their variety of salsa & chips you help yourself to. It's cheap but good food! The menu up on the wall never changes just like the Happy 2000 & 2004 banner that streams across the ceiling. The only thing I guess I would change is that they seriously need a make over & big time cleaning. The booths are greasy sticky and falling apart. I saw a huge spider by the fake plants crawl across the booth (thankfully we were done eating - quick like lightning bolted out of the restaurant). Things need to be de-webbed and dusted and tables/boothes replaced, big time. But big time kudos for the old 2007 ad for the Pat Tillman Run as I am a huge supporter of an old classmate. That's probably the #1 reason why I order take out rather than dine in. But other than that I've always been 100% satisfied by the service & food of this yummy place! :)

  • Alex I.

So I've pretty much eaten through the menu by now. And no, it's not cheap, but I like to pay more and have my guacamole made when I order it, not that morning! Please, do yourself a favor and have the chicken enchiladas. This place is all about the yummy food, it's not about the decor, or the menu not being laid out just "so." It's about the food. If you want delicious Mexican food in Campbell - this is it! Oh, and if you don't like it, good, go away! I'll get served faster on Friday night! Did I mention I really like this place?

I am totally a fan of this restaurant. There is not a lot of ambiance- it is not that type of place. Phenomenal chimichangas, chips, salsa, and cheese enchiladas. Really awesome strawberry margarita and they do not skimp on the tequila.

After being in a bar and craving some Mexican food on Cinco de Mayo, my buddy recommended Jaliscos. Every time, I enter a new restaurant, I get into Yelp mode and start making mental notes. Note 1: Friendly service. Note 2: Free Chips and Salsa! Note 3: Salsa containers are porcelain fiesta bowls (not styrofoam or plastic) Note 4: Cool looking mini bar - must go back for drinks one day. Note 5: they use the shaved ice which always makes soda better. I ordered the Chimichanga and it was awesome. A bit pricey but they give you the works including guacamole, sour cream, salad, and salsa. I can't wait to go back and try something new. Jalisco has potential for a 5 star rating!

jalisco... finally five stars. probably deserved it the whole time but i was too dull to recognize it. went there for the first time in months... and it felt like returning home. it was a very wonderful experience. i forgot everything i adored about this place! from all the people that know each other and greet each other like family, the guys that work here that treat everyone kindly (and in some cases, like family), the general ambiance where the focus when it comes down to it is just YOU and YOUR FOOD. i love getting breakfast at jalisco the most. that freshly made tortilla, the light coming into the restaurant... even with my favorite basketball team losing on tv (which i normally agitates me to NO END), i was having a great time. THE HORCHATA is awesome. very authentic. you can put anything you want in your burrito. and the salsa... i've missed mixing up my own salsa and eating a ton of chips! maybe it's because i LOVE campbell, and in some ways this is the epitome of a good life (good food, familiar/comforting place and faces, GOOD people)... but i LOVE jalisco and will always return to this place for breakfast. you always leave full, happy, and content with life. more than a place to go, a place to BE. note: you don't pay until you get your food. and the food is CHEAP.

I am a HUGE Mexican food lover and this place is the place to go! Not the nicest place in town but if you want some good, cheap, authentic Mexican food this is the place to go! Make sure to try the taquitos and the original tacos!

I read good reviews in YELP but when we decided to give it a try. I wasn't very impressed. The menu on the wall was overwhelming and confusing in trying to figure out the pricing and what to order. I went up the counter trying to get recommendation for a first time customer and he couldn't provide me a staight answer. He said "everything is good" I end up ordering a carne asada burrito and it was only okay. It wasn't very big and over priced. The tables and chair also really need an upgrade, the booth looks like it was going to fall apart and the place was not very clean. WOULD I RECOMMEND? Give it a try and let me know what you think WOULD I RETURN? No

This place is a no frills, no schmanse kinda joint. Food is solidly good, the people at the counter are super nice, there is a jukebox with oldies but goodies and a small salsa bar with 4 different salsas. I was surprised to have that many choices but only liked one of them anyway (the spiciest one). Rice and refried beans tasted exactly as I thought they should. Guac was good. My husband had a taco and enchilada plate. His take: he liked the straight up beef taco the best. He thought his plate had way too much cheese on it. I loved the miniature Texas toothpick on the wall near the counter:)

I ate there the other day and I was less than impressed. I'm surprised to see such high reviews here, maybe I'll need to revisit. I had found the menu to be underwhelming. I settled on the carnitas burrito. I enjoyed it, but not as much as other burritos in the past. I'll give it another shot, I'll update if my opinion changes.

I have noo idea how this place has 4 stars, all I can assume is my bf and I must have ordered the wrong food here. Who would think you could go wrong with a burrito and a tostada but apparently we were not in the know that they were not their specialty. I think you will get a better idea of our opinion of the food from quotes from our meal: "Taco bell has more authentic Mexican food than this place" "I wish I had gotten this to go, maybe the aluminum foil would have added some flavor to this burrito." Hate to be so harsh, but we were not impressed and I would encourage you to try any of the numerous far superior taqueria's in the area.

Definitely in my TOP 5 of Mexican restaurants in the South Bay. I used to eat here frequently when I worked down the street at eBay. Me and Co-Workers used to go for lunch. 40oz with a burrito or 40oz with a chorizo plate. Not for those who are dieting as it will definitely sit in you like a sack of rocks. This is a long time Campbell establishment with many loyal followers. I have tried many different plates here and have never been displeased. I need to make a trip to Campbell soon to indulge...

I waited to review this place until I had at least visited it another time. You know, maybe the first few times were a fluke or something. Because people seem to really like this place. This has been my third visit to this place. My first visit was over a year ago. I almost didn't come back, but then there was a get-together for a friend there (no control over that), and a late-night taco run on another night (since I can almost walk here from my place). This is a dark, sad-looking restaurant with an ever sadder-looking mini-bar. I ate in the dining room once when I was there, but for the rest of the times, I just took it to go. It seems very family friendly, but the atmosphere was literally too dark to even see your food properly if you go at dinnertime. It's good for big crowds, as the tables are big. It's a "pay at the counter, pick up at the counter" type of restaurant, which usually means cheaper prices, since nobody has to do anything else but ring you up and put some plates together in the back. No, this place is super expensive. You can read some prices from other reviewers, as they are still legit. One time, I wanted one taco and a side of just rice. A side of rice is almost $5. So...I skipped that. The prices here are unbelievable. I can only assume they are so expensive because they do give you a big portion of food. The tacos are bigger than usual, and they pile your plate up with whatever else you order. That's the only way I justify the high prices, because the taste of all this high-priced food is mediocre at best. The carne asada was very fatty, the chicken was bland, and I've even had better chips. The enchiladas were too saucy and soggy, the quesadillas too well-done and crispy. The green salsa they have for the chips, on the other hand, was pretty good. Another time, I wanted a shrimp quesadilla. Oh, they don't make that. In fact, there is only one shrimp dish on the whole confusing menu, and it's probably pre-made because they told me they don't use shrimp in any other dish. Oh, how I miss the shrimp quesadillas at La Corneta in San Francisco. The service here has been spotty. It's ranged from the cashier getting frustrated that I could not read the confusing menu overhead fast enough, to different cashiers being very friendly. I noticed that the majority of people who I have seen there are family members of the the people who work in or own the restaurant, and long-time loyal customers from back in the day. Clean the place up, install some more lighting, and for crying out loud, re-assess your prices. This place reminds me of a glorified fast-food joint, like a Mexican Denny's or something. Will I go there again? Probably, there is nothing wrong with some fast food every now and then. And if I am hungry at 9pm on a Saturday night and just order the cheapest thing on the menu and be on my way. Will I enjoy it or recommend it to others or (gasp) out-of-towners? Probably not, hence the 2 stars. Good food is hard to come by in Campbell. SIGH.

I'm always a little wary about trying a new Mexican restaurant because they are a dime a dozen here. I tried out Jalisco because of the reviews of their carnitas. Admittedly, I love me some pork, so this a good place to try it out. I went in on a windy, about to rain evening and grabbed an a la carte burrito which wasn't all that expensive for under $5. I was anticipating a not-so-great burrito, but when I got home I was surprised that it was more like a low-carb burrito. No rice. Just a freshly made tortilla, beans, and a whole lotta pork. I mean TONS of pork. Ambiance-wise, there wasn't much to it. The ceilings are high, but it was really dark in there, and they had a super old school menu board with removable letters that looked straight out of the 1980s. Other things on the menu seemed a little high, but if the portion size of their burrito say anything about what else they serve, it should be well worth it. Will definitely return to check out the other menu items, and report back. :)

I think the food here is pretty decent but in my opinion very over priced. You can get the same type of food for at least 3-4 dollars cheaper. Unfortunately you probably are paying those prices for the "location".

  • Turk C.

There were 2 factors that contributed to the 1 star rating: 1) the quality of the food and 2) the price of a "super" burrito (I use that term loosely)... We'll start with the quality (or lack thereof) - The carne asada burrito used either american/nacho cheese in the burrito, what tasted like canned refried beans and shitty guacamole and then there was the asada that had to be oven prepared... It was just tragic... And then there's the price - $9.00 for just a burrito! Even Chevy's provides sides with their plates when they charge you for a dinner... I went there based on the reviews and boy were those 4 and 5 star reviews misleading... Word to the wise, if you enjoy mexican food from great taqueria's like Super Taqueria, or El Grullense Jal and Gaeta's (for those of you in the Gilroy area), AVOID THIS PLACE...

It pains me to write a bad review, especially for a mom-and-pop business, and I don't do it often (in fact, this is my first 1-star rating), but this place really sucks. But it's always packed, and his been around forever, so judge for yourself (once). The prices are too high, the place is a dump, and 2 of the 3 things I've had were terrible. The reason I've been there three times is because many members of my extended family like it and used to drag us there - but it won't work anymore unless they're offering to pay! Funny thing: when I asked why they always go there, one of them admitted it was the only place "the kids liked". Yeah, but most kids think Taco Bell is good mexican food. (I would strongly prefer Taco Bell at these prices!) It also feels a bit like "the soup nazi" episode in Seinfeld (except that the food's sub-par) in that you feel like they are only interested in having you stand in line to pay as much money as they can get away with charging, and once they've got it, you have to sit in their crappy, crowded, run-down dining room and eat their cheap, nasty food. Wow, that's pretty negative. But I really feel ripped off every time I go there, and Mexican food is so cheap, and relatively easy to make, that until they clean up their act, you have a hundred better options elsewhere.

Strictly B- Perhaps my expectations are unrealistic, but I'm just a simple Texan lost in Silicon Valley. In Texas, we'd call this Tex-Mex, but I'm guessing there's an analogous regional name for it here. It's not any more "authentic Mexican" than McDonald's is authentic American. But that's not to say that a Big Mac isn't tasty every now and again. Pros: Friendly staff, salsa bar ranging from okay to pretty good, and excellent, melts-in-your-mouth chicken in the enchiladas Cons: Slightly pricey with plates starting at over $10 for 1 item + rice/beans for self-serve, oily yellow cheese over everything (nothing authentic about that), and soupy refried beans Weird: The small salad on top of the dinner plates has a dressing that tastes like French. WTF? Not bad per se, but I've never seen anything like it.

Finally got around to checking this place out despite being walking distance from my house. Wish I went earlier. Seems like all the customers here know the owner. Americanized mexican food. We ordered the Steak Ranchero and Pork Chile Verde dinners. Luckily we got talked out of ordering the nachos(too much food). Pluses for having 4 types of salsas AND pickled veggies! The plates were HUGE! You get tons of beans and rice. Pork chile verde was very tender. Even though the steak ranchero was a thin sliced piece of round, it was still pretty tender and flavorful. They sell beer(usual fare at a decent mex restaurant) and wine but i saw bottles of hard alcohol off to the side...so I'm guessing you can get mixed drinks too. Maybe I'll ask next time. Service was very friendly and fast.

The people there are so great! They are big on customer service and having a good time. The food is great! Pros: Order at the Counter (easy for Groups) Great Food Friendly Staff Endless Chips and Salsa Full Bar with strong delicious Margaritas Cons: Menu is a bit hard to read if I want to be picky They have a lot of TVs which could be distracting Go and decide yes on the guac!!!

Came here today for a last minute celebration. We called ahead of time to basically warn the owner that we would be walking in with a party of 20 at 9:00 PM, he was nice about it and when we arrived he even set tables aside for us. We had one tab open and all of us got in line to order, he took our orders down quickly and the food came out pretty quickly. It was like from the time we called him he was just ready to take on our large party, get food served and have us taken care of swiftly. The food: it's authentic and high quality. The nachos were good, not the best I've ever had. The chile relleno was really tasty, you can taste the actual chile which I like because sometimes you don't really get a taste of that. The burrito was really good, not overly salty. The chicken tacos were fresh and the chicken was well seasoned. Portions are huge! The bar: High quality liquors, and a shot really is a triple shot! :)

4 stars, hey? Does not compute, sorry. Jalisco was very close to my hotel and had a 4-star rating, so I thought it would be a good choice for dinner. I wasn't put off by the dive-tastic interior (my favorite places are often dives) but had quite a bit of sticker shock when I saw the prices. Mind you, there's no table service - your food comes on a lunch tray that you pick up. So - my dinner of ONE(!) taco, rice, beans and a soda was....$15. WAT?? I'd forgive that if the food was amazing, but it wasn't. The chips were stale, the salsas hit or miss (red pico = miss, green tomatillo = major hit), and my plate was nothing I couldn't do at home with a can opener and a microwave. The saving grace here and reason for two stars is the staff - they are seriously friendly and kind. Everyone who came in was greeted and treated like family, which is awesome. I wish that the food and the prices matched the awesome people working here.

The 2 stars is for the very nice people. But I would not give their food even 1 star. I REALLY wanted to give this place a higher score, b/c the bf and his family have been coming here for years and rave about it. :( The pros: Nice people. The salsas --- even though they were NOT hot or even really spicy, they still tasted pretty good. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The cons: They close at 8. Sometimes I can't get out of Google until 7. :( The nasty, thick, flavourless cheese (if it really is cheese) ALL OVER THE MEAL. Damn... what a shame. The food tasted so bland. Traditional Mexican food is WONDERFUL, full of it's own unique flavours. THIS WAS NO WHERE NEAR Mexican food.

Good polite service. Large super burrito, but hardly any carne asada. It had good flavor because guacamole and sour cream make everything good. The burrito came with a salad which was nice. Salsa was from a bottle. The spicy salsa was not spicy

This place was absolutely horrible. Probably the worst Mexican food I have ever had. The wait for our food was very long. 30 mins for one enchilada, beans, and rice. I ordered a horchata that was so grainy I couldn't drink it. The enchilada was very oily. $15 for a bad meal. I do not recommend this place at all.

My coworker and I wanted something that would fill us up and boy was it garbage. Not only that, the older employee was rude. I ordered a super burrito and the older employee responded by asking, "why super? because it has guac and sourcream?" DUH. And asked for a choice of meat, crispy tripas but he didn't even know what it was...he thought it was chorizo...., "GG. Honestly, I thought I could let that go but it got worst. The burrito was terrible. It was basically a large taco which was barely wrapped into a burrito! CMON! OVERALL, I can't even finish this review because my experience was horrible. Bottom line, AVOID.

This place is interesting. It's a semi restaurant in that there is no table service. They make up for this with a FULL bar! Yup. Full bar!! I was initially going to take one star for the table service but this is their system and it works for them. Again, the full bar as well. The place is located in a shopping center of sorts. The setting is not too intimate but the decor is pretty cool. Twelve tables inside. No outside seating. Three big screen TVs. Get your game on. The menu is pretty diverse. They have plenty of our favorites. Start off by placing your order. Grab your chips and salsa and head to your table. They will call your number when your order is ready. The food was great. The beans and rice were smothered in cheese. The chile relleno was tasty with a tangy sauce. Also, tons of cheese. The batter was outstanding. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I will be back.

For having grown up in California with Mexican family my standards are pretty high and Jalisco beats those standards! If i'm looking for authentic heavy delicious mexican food Jalisco is always first on my list! The chile verde is absolutely delicious and melts in your mouth. The restaurant is family owned and has had the same staff for as long as I can remember. If you're in the Campbell area and looking for good mexican food, look no further!

This used to be 5 stars across the board. Last night I found my favorite, Chile Colorado to be very dry, even while soaked in red sauce. Probably an anomaly or a off night. Other things that have been outstanding for years, since Stevens Creek store, are the relleno, menudo and pozole. Those are just my favorites, but I'm sure there are many more. Henry and his family have run a great restaurant for many years. Very friendly and always welcoming. Minus one star for dinner prices. ($50+ for two people) It could also use a facelift. Booths and seats are very worn out and torn up. But again. Food is great, and family is awesome. I will not stop eating here, and if you haven't, I highly suggest trying Jalisco.

I have been back to Jalisco's twice now and have tried their carnitas and chicken taquitos. Both dishes were absolutely delicious! I LOVE that this restaurant uses real chicken breast. My taquitos were full of white meat chicken breast instead of chopped up dark meat. The servers are still very friendly and everyone has excellent customer service skills. This is definitely a jem in Campbell. I will continue to be a loyal guest. :D

OMG!!! Super bomb!! Came here for lunch with my co worker. We both got the carne asada super burrito and it was huge, full of flavor and loaded with meat! Just the way I like it! Dude that helped us was very welcoming and helpful. Waited less than 10 mins and got to enjoy some delish chips and salsa while we waited. The green salsa was my fav! Definitely would recommend this place!

Bad customer service. I order a burrito and a michelada. Michelada was great, but its pricey at $11.00. After 25 minutes waiting for my burrito i asked if they were making it. They guy who took my order was talking to someone all the time and he didn't notice he forgot to give the order to the cooks. They didn't make me pay for the burrito, but it was saggy and not good over all, its like they are not even trying. Rubio's makes a much better burrito for cheaper and better environment. The only good thing about this place was the michelada. I gave them a chanse but they blew it. Not coming back ever!

Came here with a party of 10. We ordered every thing from tacos, chile Colorado & some veggie meal. I had grilled chicken (don't recall the name). The marinate was tasty and cooked perfect & not dry.. Everyone was happy and left with full bellies.

Service with an attitude. Expensive. Food is rich and savory which is its saving grace. Location is great.

This place has been here forever! Henry's a cool dude. We tried to order to pickup for a half hour and the phone was busy. I thought it was because they were slammed. I told Henry about it and he said his wife's been on the phone. Time for another line brother....haha! Ground Beef Tacos are stacked with meat!

I would give zero stars but I cant. This place hung me to dry. I called and was told they were open until 9 pm. Until tonight I really liked this restaurant and drove all the way from Coyote to eat there. I showed up at 8:50 and the employee smiled and told me they closed a few minutes early. I explained that I drove 14 miles based on the fact that I was told they would be open until 9 pm. His response was "I'm sorry". He refused to serve me despite how far I had driven, smiled and said "that's too bad". Needless to say I was fuming. I used to work in the restaurant industry and when something like this happened we did not chuckle and say "I'm sorry, that is too bad". We tried to make it right, not crap all over the customer who drove a long way to give us their business. If we could not serve them we gave them beverage credits or coupons for when they returned. Just a thought; I wonder how the employee who laughed at me tonight would like it if someone did that him?

Bad service. Waited 15 minutes for a burrito and I was the only customer there. The person who made my burrito couldn't even roll or wrap it correctly. Why does my burrito look like a giant taco? Terrible.

Hello my name is Dennis and I am a Jalisco food addict. My first time, a friend of mine had me try it, telling me its cool and everyone is doing it, and then I could not stop. It started as a weekly thing, but then became a daily habit. Unfortunately, I had to go cold turkey (moved far away). Every time I visit the bay area though. I will be eating here :) There has not been a single item on the menu that I did not like, by the way. It's all delicious!

I really don't care what anyone says, I LOVE Jalisco's. Its been almost 7 years since my first review and I'm still loving this place. My go to dinner is the chicken enchiladas which I really like. I also like their beans and rice and the yummy mild sauce on the side. My hubs likes the enchiladas but also likes the potato tacos. The over all feel is still very "local" hangout. Not fancy, no razzle dazzle, just a family run business that make yummy Mexican comfort food. I noticed on this visit that the center booths have been removed which makes the small restaurant feel a little more spacious. I called my order in and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. It was Friday night so I figured I'd get there and I'd have to wait. Nope! arrived right on time and my order was ready and waiting. Pipping hot and smelling oohhhhh so good, I could hardly wait to get home and dig in. Yes folks, I'm a fan!

Good ole time mexican food. Its just a little tiny whole in the wall place in strip mall with a few tables and booths. You have to order and pick up your own food. But everything here is good. Chili re llano was done the authentic way with batter and stuffed with monterey cheese. It in no way was soggy like most get once the gravy is poured over. Had asada taco done like street taco, soft shell the meat had great flavor. Cant go wrong with portion size either, check out my posted pics.

The fact that this place has 4 stars is disgraceful. The food is awful. I got the Carne Asada Nachos. The tortilla chips fell apart instantly. The assortment of toppings were awful. They give you a tiny container of sour cream which was probably in the fridge for a year and was solid as a rock. My friend got "chicken enchiladas" which looked more like a pile of goo. She also got horchata which tasted like there was sand in there. My other friends weren't happy with their food either. Also the ordering mechanism is weird! You order then sit. Then they call out your number and you go retrieve your food, and pay at the same time! That's the last time I want to be paying for my food. I'd rather be eating! Though to be fair I'd rather have never eaten that food. I won't be back.

$17 for a chile relleno with rice and beans? Yes. A rather mediocre one at that. Overpriced, counter service, and closed at 8 not 9. I'd skip this place.

For a neighborhood taco/burrito joint, it's decent. It's a no frills place that has good food, big portion, and is reasonably priced. I had two large tacos, one with carne asada and the other with carnitas. The carnitas taco was slightly better. The salsa was very good but the chips were ordinary. The staff was super nice and helpful when asked questions about the menu.

Remember the good old days when your school cafeteria would decide it's Mexican food day? Well if you are ever feeling nostalgic and want to recreate the experience of eating a plate of nachos that looks like it was prepared by an old lady in a hair net ... then drop by Jalisco and while you are at it grab a box of chocolate milk and a cookie. The food here is awful. Not only is it visually revolting, the taste is just as concerning. I took one bite of my "carne asada" taco and instantly regretted it. I wouldn't have given the leftovers to my dog. To the crazy lunch lady who prepared my dinner: I think it's time to start thinking about retirement.

I too have gone to Jaliscos' since 1972 and followed them around to three locations in the South Bay and they have the best Cheese Enchiladas ever! I have tried to find or make better myself but they cannot be duplicated. Their sauce is just that good and so good on Tamales and Chili Rellenos as well, I always order pints to go when ordering Tamales for parties. This is not a Tex Mex place or an I am on a diet place! This is a in your dreams kind of place, ooey, gooey cheese please! The rice is always fluffy and refried beans perfect! Love the Chili Rellenos! Ask for old style tacos if you want the twice fried type with potato. Love to order combo cheese enchilada dinner with sauteed onions inside, love the Salad dressing! I always use Jalisco's mild salsa sauce as it has the most flavor! And extra white onions are available near the Chip and Salsa section! Load them up on my beans and rice and salad. Full bar and I love to go on Saturday afternoons after my errands and get a glass of Cabernet and sit and read and enjoy my meal. Super Oldies on Jukebox! I travel around the country and try every new Mexican restaurant I can find to see if they even come close, nope! Most restaurants today microwave their enchiladas, a real crime. They use canned sauces etc. Not real Mexican food to me. As a matter of fact, my hubby is now hooked as well and on his way tonight to get some dinners to bring home! Always order extra like we do! It is excellent reheated in the oven for best results! No microwaves please! Henry and family, you ROCK! Long live Jalisco's!

Finally some good authentic Mexican food!! I'm from southern California and have been in search of some good Mexican food. Well, I have found my go to spot for Mexican food! If you're hungry and a big eater, I'd go for the Super Burrito. But beware, this thing is no joke! All their portions are big and filling. You can tell their are plenty of repeat customers since everyone seems to know the owners.

The folks who work there are super friendly, and I loved the restaurant's unpretentious vibe. Great salsas, too! That said, the food was really bland. It tasted like Mexican food prepared by and for a clientele in Middle America. Nothing too spicy, no "exotic" spices or flavors, great if you've got a real beef and potatoes palate. I had the pork tamale and have had much, much tastier in NYC, which anyone in love with CA Mexican food will tell you is unacceptable and unheard of. My husband had the chicken enchilada, which many on Yelp rave about, and he also found his dish to be lacking flavor. Rice and beans would have been good but they put the salad on your plate right in between the two. So you can't mix them on your fork or plate without getting lettuce shreds in the mix. And finally, I could swear they use bottled French dressing on the salad. French dressing on a Mexican salad??? Hell, French dressing on any restaurant's salad??? 3 stars because the people and the vibe were cool. What's up with the food though?!?!

I came here for my weekly adventure night last night. I picked this place over Pericos because I had been to Sal's pizza, which is in the same shopping center, last week and noticed a ton of eating here. As soon as I walked in I knew it wasn't what I expected. This place is weird since you order your food then pay when you pick it up. It was expensive for what it was and they didn't even bring the food out to you. The food: The food was 50/50. Now I've been eating Mexican food my whole life and I am getting mixed feelings about this place. The best part about it was the meat. The carne asada was seasoned nicely. The tortillas were home made and but did not hold the burrito well. The rice was too sticky and not fluffy enough. The beans tasted good and not too salty. The bit of lettuce was ok but I disliked the salsa. It was sweet and it just didn't go well with everything else. It was a good amount of food and they gave you endless chips and salsa. The Staff: The people there are cool and are always chopping it up with the customers. I even saw one sitting and sharing a 32oz Budweiser with some. This is the best part of the place. I did see the sons working in the front and older Mexican ladies in the back. The Place Itself: I did not like how this place looked. It was old and outdated. There was plenty of seating though. They had a bar area and a salsa/jalapeno area up by the counter

I live in Campbell but hadn't been to Jalisco in years. I just finished one of their carne asada burritos with added guacamole & it was quite tasty! They make their own tortillas, which I liked, but the texture of the tortilla was different & may not be to everyone's liking. I like that they give you chips & salsa with to go orders. Three stars because the service could be a bit less "brusque." Also because the food took a while, & their system of paying when you pick up your food is a little disorienting. But I'd go back for the food, for sure!

I'm obsessed with their chicken burrito and the dressing sauce that comes with it! I don't think this place will ever come close to disappointing me. Plus, the pricing is fair (for the chicken burrito). I highly recommend everyone to give this restaurant a try!!

First time here and we really enjoyed it! The salsa was fantastic with a nice kick! had the chicken taco salad and was pleasantly surprised with how tender, juicy and flavorful the entire dish was. Hubz had a taco plate, which includes rice & beans and agreed that his taste buds were happy :) I did order a blended margarita, had a couple sips, then realized there was a dead fruit fly in it... Not the establishments fault (it could happen anywhere) but that was the end of that. Overall, we are extremely satisfied and will definitely return!

Phenomenal! The day before I had a huge craving for a delicious burrito. Growing up Downtown San Jose I know a good burrito from a crappy one. I had a CRAPPY one from a place on Winchester. So I was still on the hunt for an actual good burrito. I looked on Yelp saw Jalisco and was not disappointed! There food is SO good! Carnitas Burrito Plate- Enchilada style! Delicious! My husband ordered the chicken super currito and loved it as well. Both the chicken and the carnitas were tender, the rice was flavor and moist, and the beans were excellent (and I hate refried bean typically). Only downside, the place is busy because it's good so if you go on a Friday night it's going to be packed ... and there's these obnoxious small fruit flys that land on your table and after killing 3 of them with a napkin I was kinda grossed out. :( Get the food to go!! Problem solved! :p

Great local find with that family feel! The Chile Relleno was perfect my minimum requirement for new finds. They have Salsa bar an everything appears to be home made!

Never again. The prices are way too high for what you get. A burrito filled with mostly flavorless beans and rice and about 3oz of flavorless boiled chicken. Save your money. Don't waste your time. Sombreros on the walls are covered in dust. Service is not friendly AT ALL. I was looking for good Mexican food in Campbell and DID NOT find it here. Wish I could have gotten my money back after the first bite.

I have eaten at Jalisco's several times, and I find it to be mediocre and overpriced. Yesterday was my latest experience. I ordered the Chili Relleno dinner plate, which consists of one relleno, re-fried beans, overcooked rice, all topped with about a quarter cup of "salad", which is obviously from a sack of salad mix, and worse of all is I paid over $15.00 for it. The rellano was warm, definitely not hot and neither were the beans or rice. The side of flour tortillas was way under cooked, they looked translucent and tasted raw. For the price I could have had a really good burger and fries elsewhere, or better Mexican food.

Expensive but the foods good and the Chip and tortillas are made fresh. Sometimes the guy working there can be moody but as long as the food is good I could careless.

I'm not sure how this place got the ratings it has. I ate literally the worst burrito of my life here. Not only was it gross, but it was difficult to eat (very messy) based on how it was wrapped. I'm not sure how you can mess up a burrito this badly, but they did. It had no flavor, partly because it doesn't come with salsa, which I find odd, but even the meat and beans were flavorless, and it had that icky shredded lettuce in it. You can add your own salsa, from the "salsa bar" which isn't even labeled so you don't know what you're getting. Also, if you get salsa to go, they give you the tiniest cups I've ever seen, so you need like 10 of them if you're someone like me who likes salsa. I asked if they could add fajita veggies but they said no. Also, as the kicker, I added guacamole, and literally it seems like they barely dipped a butterknife into guacamole and just wiped off a little on the tortilla before wrapping it up. There was basically none in there except trace here and there that could have easily just been accidental cross-contamination. Wasn't the cheapest burrito either, on top of everything. Never going back!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
