Tommy's is solid. Man, when I was going to school I would have Tommy's probably about 3 times a week and it never got old. The best chili cheese burger i've ever had. I also my co-workers that tommy's is good for you and got them all to start eating it :D

An institution. Quick, inexpensive, and most importantly GOOD! Don't be scarred off by the chili. I don't like chili anything....but I love Tommy's. You can't go wrong with anything here. There menu is concise and everything on it is great. This location is also great. It's convenient and quick. The employees are always friendly. Plus they're open on Thanksgiving. How awesome is that? Skip the turkey, eat Tommy's instead.

I love Tommy's, this particular location I've been going to since I can remember. But holy crap, I need to prepare myself to eat there, now. I gave in and got the double chili cheese burger, with chili fries and a drink. BUT!!! They're doing something now where you can upgrade the patties to 1/4 pound patties, so with all the chili and patties, I probably ate close to 1 pound of oil laced beef. But it was totally worth it. I love this place.

Love Tommy's and never been to this particular location. My date decided on some Tommy's and it was pretty late in the night, we split a double cheeseburger and chili cheese fries. As always, they tasted wonderful. Staff is polite. Plenty of street and private lot parking. No Drive Thru, so that gives it a classic feel.

Spoil yourself every once and a while. Breakfast is bomb of you get pepper jack cheese on an English muffin. This tommys makes it fresh and taste great every time

Having tried (and been disappointed by) the "new" Tommy's in Ventura, I had to go back to the one I grew up going to in Burbank. Thankfully the Burbank Tommy's, as always, was consistent with my memory. As far as I'm concerned, if I need a Tommy's fix, I'll make the trek back to my hometown - YUM.

Meh! They aren't bad. I'm not a huge fan of their chili but it isn't bad. I usually prefer to get a burger at a couple other places but sometimes I'm in the mood for a Tommy's burger. I've also tried their breakfast sandwiches not too long ago and they are pretty darn good. The service is usually almost to par. There is outdoor seating and you order at a window. Always plenty of parking. If a friend wants some Tommy's, I'm there.

Been coming here since I was a kid - absolutely LOVE it! For fast food, it always tastes super fresh! The menu is short and sweet, sticking to the basics. Chili is a must, and extra chili is even better! *ask for it, they'll usually give it to you* Fries are always thick, hot and crispy. Prices are super affordable and the portions'll definitely fill you up.

If you find yourself eating at Tommy's for the first time ever, you MUST try the chili cheese fries. You can order other things...burger...hot dog...whatever. But you have to get chili cheese fries. And I recommend getting the chili cheese on the side. Otherwise the fries can get a little soggy as they soak up the delicious chili.

Don't get me wrong - I love Tommy's, and have been eating it for years. When I was 15 years old and learning to drive, my dad incentivized me by having me practice driving to Tommy's for lunch... not this location, though. I came to this particular location for the first time, and what the heck - this place gives really skimpy portions. The chili cheese fries were relatively light on the fries and light on the chili. When I've been to other locations, the fries are piled higher with chili overflowing the little tray. I feel like I got a half size or 2/3 size or something. Don't even bother with a cheeseburger either - at least order a double or go hungry. On the plus, however, there is small parking lot in the back, and outdoor (only) seating to the side. Tommy's does have the yummiest chili around, though (when you're not watching your health, but if you're reading this review, you probably aren't on a diet and so eat on). I just won't bother stopping at this location again because I feel ripped off.

I grew up in Burbank and went to Burbank High School, which is just a few blocks away from Tommy's. I remember when it first opened in the former Der Wienerschnitzel location on San Fernando Road. It was love at first sight (bite?). My mother had worked at Tommy's original location at Beverly and Rampart back when she was in high school, and she also gave her seal of approval to the Burbank location when it opened. I moved far away from Burbank over a quarter of a century ago, but every trip back since that time has been the same: fly into Burbank airport, rent a car, drive to Tommy's on San Fernando Road, and THEN do whatever I flew to L.A. for. Occasionally, I've even flown to Burbank for no other purpose than to eat at Tommy's and fly back home. It's the only thing I miss about Los Angeles, and pretty much the only reason to return.

It's Tommy's and their world famous chili-burgers. Breakfast burritos are hefty and hearty to start your day with. great stuff!

Oh Tommy's. There is a hankering every so often for a Tommy's burger. Especially if you're a Los Angelenos. East Coaster would not understand this goodness. I mean, if you're a fan of sloppy, delicious, oh so bad chili and you're a fan of a cheeseburger, then you'll be a fan of Tommy's. You just can't go wrong with a chili cheeseburger, chili cheese fries and a coke. You can't. Sure, it's messy, a trillion calories, super greasy and you feel like S afterwards, but hey, when you're eating it, it's freaking awesome.

When you work up a "Big guy" appetite, you can't go wrong with Tommy's! I've been a frequent customer on and off to this location for a little over a year now. My two favorites are the Breakfast Burrito in the mornings, and Chili Cheese fries and a drink at anytime during the day.

Man do I love Tommy's. Damn I love Tommy's. There is not one by me but I used to live in North Hollywood and this was my local Tommy's and man is it still great. The have the new calenite burger and man am I in love. They have a nice eating area to the side of the building but a very small parking lot in the back so if you have a big car go and park in the Carls Jr parking lot haha. There is sometimes a long line but it goes generally fast. But still you cant beat Tommy's burger. I have no problem driving to Burbank anytime to go there. I just hope the open one up next to me soon cause that gas is a killer in a Yukon!!!!!

My very First review on Yelp so Naturally I HAD to choose Tommy's. This spot, this VERY SPOT is where I had my first date, and where the Tommy's kiss was born, ( actually it began all the food kisses{defiantly as dirty and cute as it sounds}) although I cannot lie to you guy and say it was love at first bite, we have grown and fallen in love over the years. The chili is BEST ever.. honestly perfected the recipe for a fast food joint.. and the art of stacking those beautiful buns into a tower of love well, what words could even describe it? **MAIN POINT ALERT ** Anyway, the ONLY downfall to this restaurant that I feel I need to warn you guys about is one single server. She is a female, have not taken note of her name(sorry!) but everryy single time she prepared my meal it looks like a tornado went though my plate. I don't think I even need to give a name, her aura is quite... hateful, you can just tell the lady needs a vacation. So I recommend you steer clear of her. If you get a seemingly feisty server, maybe wait it out and come back.. Other than her,I have no complaints about the quality of the food. All the other workers know they are artist to their craft. Really anything you order will offer you no regrets. So my fiends, NOM it up

Chili cheese fries with extra cheese and grilled onions. This is one of the tastiest comfort foods that there is. I know it is not for everyone but it is very good. They are quick, the order is always correct and the food is excellent.

Tommy's breakfast sandwich is heavenly. Sausage, egg, chilli, cheese, pickles, onion, tomato,Âmustard. Need I say more? This breakfast sandwich a great for a hangover! If I were a lady and pregnant, I'd have one of these everyday.

The ultimate high school memories (good and bad) have come from the burger chain with the moniker Tommy's. Not Tomy's or Tommie's or Tammy's or Tom's, which you can find adorned throughout LA/Orange Counties serving knockoff versions of this classic LA institution but it's all about Tommy's Original. The original date night joint on Beverly and Rampart that everybody pulled their cars up, ordered a couple of burgers, a soda from the bin, and ate on their tailgates or hoods throughout the wee hours of the night. Ahh, good memories of the nights, but a couple of bad memories of the morning after you down a couple of chili burgers. It's all worth it though. This location was close to my friends' place and i was looking for a place to grab some breakfast before remembering that Tommy's served breakfast at some locations. I passed by and they were open pretty early in the morning. (7ish??) I parked in the back of the building which seemingly resembled an old Wienerschnitzel possibly??? (tall A frame building) I'm pretty sure they serve their entire menu but for breakfast just add a sandwich and a burrito to the menu. I went for the gusto since I know I won't eat here for another 4-5 years and ordered the breakfast burrito. Yes! I watched them make it and they cooked everything (minus the chili) to order. They wrapped up a couple of eggs, hash browns, cheese, sausage, and chili in a pretty huge tortilla. They handed it to me and it was flaming hot! I couldn't even hold onto it. (...insert friend's 'that's what she said' joke that really never gets old. ;p ) I really liked it in a morbid unconscious sort of way. I knew what i was putting in my body but just kept eating it. It was damn good. The textures were all over the place to create a nice combination in your mouth. The chili was the same of course, soft and slightly oily. The hash browns were crunchy as hell but not burnt. Perfect. The eggs, cheese, and tortilla held everything together while the sausage just added cholesterol. (not needed but indeed tasty) I had to eat fast because I was in a hurry which was hard because it was scalding hot with each bite. Luckily I don't have a cat's tongue so I downed it in pretty good time. I would try it again if given the opportunity. The service was quick and friendly. Area was pretty nice. Food was Tommy-esque. Let's face it, if you are looking for a good diet joint, you obviously won't be even looking in this direction. If you pull up to the window, you know what you're in store for. Chance em!

is it me or is this place just "ok" ? During all four years of undergrad, everyone I know raved about Tommy's! I never tried it....until yesterday. (2 years post-graduation) A re-visit to SoCal left me motivated to try Tommy's. I was sort of disappointed, but I think it's only cuz of all the hype I heard before eating here. I ordered a standard cheeseburger combo, which came with chili, tomato, pickles, onions, and mustard. It was yummy no doubt- just not super amazing as everyone made it out to be. Then again, in college, your options are limited and Tommy's is perhaps THE quintessential college bite. The chili lacked heat and spice, in my opinion...it tasted rather bland. The french fries were the most impressive to me. hot, crispy, perfectly salted. But that's without the chili, what Tommy's is really famous for. I'm in the minority by saying Tommy's is just "aiight," however I would eat here again if I was craving something fatty, salty, and uber messy.

I know I know, how can you review a place that is a chain?? Because it's that fucking good that's why. I LOVE Tommy,s, quick to get you your order and just great food. Living near places like Pink's and Larry's in Burbank I still come here. Why? Because Larry's is not open late and because Pinks has a line longer than the fucking Matterhorn at Disneyland. For people new to LA that want a nice unhealthy chili burger go to Tommy's and if you don't like it mover your wanna-be actor ass back to Iowa

I basically spent every Friday here during high school, which is why I'm at about 460lbs. Ok not really, but I'm sure if I was still doing that I'd be pretty close to that weight. Obviously the original Tommy's is super cool in it's own right but this one will always hold a special place in my heart. Plus when I'm craving chili cheese fries at 11:50 like I normally do, it's a 2 minute drive from my parent's house, so I'll make it JUST in time.
(5)
Jessica C.
When you've worked a freaken long day, dealt with an hour of traffic to drive 12miles, you can't wait till your next paycheck.. Tommy's chili cheese fries and a large Pepsi for me just makes all that just go away. For that Tommy's, you will always be my comfort food.

Tommy's is no In N Out, but perhaps that's a good thing. Every so often, one needs a heart-attack-on-a-plate burger, and that's what Tommy's burgers are. Heart-attacks-on-a-plate. I mean that in the nicest of ways... Had a chili cheeseburger for the first time a couple days ago, and while it didn't look pretty, it was YUMMEH. With each bite of burger, I'd take a fry and scoop up whatever excess chili I could find oozing beyond the edges of my burger bun. OMGOMGOMG. With each bite I take, an artery gets clogged. Seconds of my life are lost. I know this, but I can't stop... Tommy's burgers are not for the faint of heart. But if you're immune (to a certain degree) to fat and grease (like moi), step up and take the challenge.
Nothing really compares to Tommy's. Growing up in Southern California, we really have two major competing burger chains: Tommy's and In-n-Out. Both are delicious, but very different. Tommy's is a Los Angeles institution and serves up some of the best chili burgers, chili dogs and chili fries around. You basically come here for the chili. Better hamburgers, dogs and fries can be had at a number of other places, but Tommy's chili is delicious and unmistakable. In fact, being that my family and I live so close to this location, a lot of times we'll head down to Tommy's just to buy the chili and then pour it on our own homemade burgers and dogs.

I don't get it. Best chili burger? It what country -- Vietnam? There's a jam on pico that I would never tell you people about that has the BEST chili burger... west of the mississippi.

Another LA institution. I remember the old Tommy's on Van Nuys Blvd. before they moved it and built the post office! I remember in grade school my brother's friend Tom Lopez telling me the secret ingredient was a Mexican getting up on the counter and taking a wiz in the giant 50 gallon vat of chili every morning....I can't believe I believed him! Later on in high school we would congregate at the location on Roscoe across from the Budweiser plant....man, what a way to end a Friday night of drinking. Nowadays, I go to Tommy's every once in a while just to relive the past....still tastes the same. I will trade off between a Double Chili Cheese and Chili dogs....but I always get the plain french fries...and usually "eat too much" My doctor would have a fit if I told him I still went here! So if you have been drinking (shame on you! wink wink) or wake up with a hangover and in need of food, I can think of no better remedy to sop up all that alcohol with that Tommy's! Note: The taste of that hot Tommys burger, chili, chopped onions and that fresh tomato on your tongue for the first time is quintessential Los Angeles. You will not find a taste like that anywhere else in the world!

I'm so glad that there isn't a Tommy's in Ventura. I would've already had a chili induced heart attack. I have never been to a place, nor have I ever heard of a place that chili comes standard on everything. That's just plain crazy. Delicious, but crazy. Even their breakfast sandwich has chili on it. Sausage, egg, pickles, tomato, onion and CHILI on a biscuit. How is anybody thin in this city?
(4)
Fred C.
This place is the standard of greasy chili cheese filled awesome. It's your standard chili burgers, hotdogs and fries but Tommy's just seems to strike me as perfect junk food. You may not know what's in the chili, well because it's all paste like, but it's tasty. There's not much else to describe here, go grab a chili cheese burger, a side of chili cheese fries and place yourself into a nice food coma. I will say that Tommy's will not equal five stars for everyone. This is greasy, super bad for you fast food overloaded with chili. If you're worried about too much chili, try getting it on the side; it will save you trouble. You also might not like it if you like chunky, hearty chili. Just saying. But if you're a fan of chili, you definitely have to give Tommy's a try.
(5)
Joseph H.
Most Tommy's are basically the same, and that's a good thing! If you're craving something chili-cheesy, and you are somewhere in LA, chances are that there is a Tommy's nearby and it will not disappoint you. Everything here comes out quick and the prices are not too bad either.

Better than anything i've had here in San Jose. I highly suggest you try this place if you got a case of the MUNCHIES!!

Day 1 of HOT DOG search: chartering new territory with a familiar name. Tommy's in my mind has always been the "how can i induce nap" type of meal in high school and on. This location being the closest and most familiar. Not much to say about the delicious cheeseburgers as I am focusing my mind on the hot dogs. 2 chili cheese hot dogs with onion and an order of regular fries kicked off this adventure, if it can so be called. I opted out of the tomato and pickles that usually come with it. I remember it being a lot messier with those things, but anyway back to the future. The chili is always good here at Tommy's. It has a thicker texture that holds on very well to the hot dog inside the bun...just peaking out if you will. I love how the onions are all mixed in there. Because of the generous portion of chili, I could not really describe the hot dog in use. Textures were all jumbled up in that thing. But i THINK i felt some snap to it...yay!(?) Did not appreciate the buns really. The pieces not touching the chili felt dry, and once the smaller than bun hotdog was completed, I decided not to eat the rest of the bun...it was getting hard anyway. The fries disappointed me because I think the dude wanted to rush my order...maybe i'll ask them to fry it better next time I go, but it won't be for a while...hot dog locations are a plenty and i'm off to them!!!! ....stay tuned for the continuation of my hot dog search.

I soooo very badly want to give Tommy's 10 stars, but the tummy ache I get afterward just won't let me. As far as craving satisfaction goes, it is the best hangover food ever! But be warned...you might pay for the happiness your burger/fries brings you. That said, I will absolutely go back, even knowing the consequences...it's just too darn yummy.

Tommy's is one of the few things I absolutely must have when I visit LA. I've grown up coming to this Tommy's every once in awhile when my mom was too tired to make lunch/dinner. For a little under $3, a chili cheese burger was just perfect. Add the chili cheese fries and you have something quite wonderful. I loved that even two days after eating Tommy's, you can burp and still taste the chili. The workers here are always really quick and will customize your order (i.e. chili and cheese on the side for the fries).
(5)
Athena W.
I have to say I was doubtful, but this is a tasty tasty burger. Their chili is unlike anyone else's and it looks terrible. But O the taste! Delicious. Get an order of fries with your chili burger, that way you can mop up the falling chili with them! I see Tommy Burger in the immediate future.

Patrick S.
Apparently everyone loves this place. Maybe I'm not a chili type of person so excuse my rating. Although my dad and brothers seem to love this stuff. As for myself I think the chili was a bit overwhelming for the burger and last time I went my patty was still slightly pink. There was no specific taste that stuck out to me. Sorry Tommys, maybe next time

i love their chilli cheese fries with onions this place is amazing!! Totally original and quality! The chili dog was amazing too great snap to stand the people are super friendly! I fortnight ask for onions on my chilidog and they had no problem putting t on for me! Love it! Try it!

Tommy's is always good after a long night of drinking, smoking, and fluffing tits. The greasier the better.

Narek M.
To me Tommy's is just....alright. Nothing amazing, but their French fries are super impressive with or without chili. They have really good hotdogs but really as far as a burger place it's just alright, by far a step above a carls jr. type place, but I def don't eat here too often. If you are craving fatty, messy, but still really delicious food at a good price. Hit up tommy's and the fact that they have good customer service is good but not really worth another star. 3.5/5 :)

Oh GODS I miss this place! Their chili is SOO good, it could actually kill you. Do you remember that Simpson's episode where Homer needed to gain weight in order to work from home? Well that's what I thought about the first time I went to Tommy's (over a decade ago). Each chili burger was double-wrapped in paper, then placed in a cardboard container (not to be mistaken for the cardboard tray), next to the mountain of chili topping my fries. Remember when Dr. Nick told Homer that it wasn't greasy enough unless he could see through things with the grease? Well I-shit-ya-not, I could see right to the burger! It's kind of amazingly-delicious-scary. These guys have got it down to a science; my food was given to me before I was able to hand my money to the clerk! Heard they were planning on opening up some places further south of LA County ...... please, oh please, come up to the BAY!!! I know there aren't many meat eaters up here, but if you build it, I will come?

I would TOTALLY give this Tommy's a 5 star rating if it wasn't for the birds. Yes, the BIRDS. Ok, so I'm a bit biased, as I really HATE birds, but even a bird lover wouldn't be able to handle this place. The seating is outdoors, which wouldn't be such a problem if it weren't for the 35467632165968 gazillion birds that fly around and jump on your table while you are eating. Yes, while you are eating. They have no fear. Its disgusting. There's bird shit all over the benches and table tops and the workers don't clean it up. And forget about it if the birds get spooked (ALL AT THE SAME TIME, of course) and fly away. They fly right over your head, skimming your hair and leaving bird dust, feathers, and what ever other lice carrying germs they have, falling into your food. ITS GROSS. Ok, so onto the food. Its an original Tommy's so what is there to say but that the food is greasy good. My fave is the chili tamale. WOW. If you do go to this Tommy's, make sure you take it TO GO.

Sorry, but the Tommy's I know did not disappoint me with flavor and size of the meal. 2 weeks ago, my friend and I were coming back from Malibu and were pretty darn hungry. There was a Carl's Jr and a Tommy's right next to each other on San Fernando Blvd. And everybody knows Carl's Jr never disappoints. BUT hear me out. We haven't had Tommy's in a while and decided to stop there. Looking at the menu, hearing my stomach growl, I ordered the tripple stacker combo. 1st impression; it's O.K., the patties shrank way too much, the chillin on the burger tasted like ish. Anyhoo, While I was eating, I was staring and contemplating on going over to the carl's jr. next to this place. In conclusion, tommy's will be the last place I'll ever think of from now on.

Tommy's always has great food, although it is prime time heart attack material so I try to limit my visits there. This Tommy's has been in Burbank for as long as I can remember, and no matter what time you drive by, they always have customers.

Dude... Tommy's burgers look like $hit but the taste is just mmmm... mmm... good! This is the kind of food that puts the hurtin' on the meat curtain! I fly into Burbank a few times a year and I always have to have Tommy's at least once before I go home. I wish we had Tommy's in NORCAL damnit!!!

I've scarfed away a lot of food at this place. How I do miss it. The chili cheese fries. The chili cheese dog. The double patty cheese burger with chili. When my husband moved out to L.A. we'd get all three and pig out. Sometimes, a co-worker and I would go to the original Tommy's on Beverly and Rampart for lunch. Again, I'd order 2-3 items and enjoy. The memories of eating and not worrying about gaining weight.

Ah..yuck. Lame atmosphere, food, and the bums smoking and going through the trash while you eat is just so lovely...thanks again tommy's.

Oh Tommy's how I love thee! You are the one fast food joint that is not available in the Bay Area and the one thing I miss the most since I moved from LA, aside from my family of course! Love you, mom! I've made it a tradition to fly into Bob Hope and immediately have my mom drive me to Tommy's on the ride home and again on the way back to Bob Hope just before my flight back to San Jose. The chili is great, the fries are better than the standard fast food fare and the prices for their combos make for a great value. If you're reading this Tommy Koulax or relative: open a Tommy's in San Jose! Tommy's burgers make the trip to the irritating LA urban jungle a lot better.

Blade M.
Reasonable greasy burger made with cheap ingredients. Chili is ok, though not like serious chili...sorta like cheap, canned stuff. Carls Jr in the same parking lot is better or if you want really good...drive a mile east on San Fernando to In-n-Out for a MUCH better burger.

Best darn chili cheese fries ever! The burgers are great too!

Greasy addictive chili. Every Tommy's is wonderful. They're like the modern Spanish Missions for the everyday man (or woman); every Tommy's is a day's walk from the next one if you were to walk across Los Angeles. They might even offer you a cot in the storeroom if you were to ask for sanctuary. In fact, while we're at it, you ever noticed the nice 1960s A Frame construction? It kind of resembles a church doesn't it? I think I might be a member of the church of Tommy's and I didn't even know it. This is one of the O.G. ones. Red roof, A Frame, all outdoors eating. The grub here is great. Order chili on everything. Unfortunately, you can't order chili on your shakes or your iced tea. I like to order a Chili Cheeseburger, Chili Cheese Fries, and an iced tea. Throw a few peppers in the mix and I'm good to go. The tamales are great too. In all the years though, I've never ordered the Chili Dog; I've been too obsessed with the burgers. I'm sure they're great though. Beware of Fake Tommy's though. There is no such thing as a "Tommy's Jr." It's a fake. Watch for fake spellings: Tommie's, Tommi's, Tomy's, etc. They are not the same and generally do an average job of the magnificence that Tommy's does. I have found one other place that has the Tommy's chili recipe though ... Norms Burgers.

Gotta love this place! I eat here every time I'm in town! I usually order a cheeseburger (with chili of COURSE) and slather the extra chili over the fries. No need to order the chili fries unless you are intent on ODing on chili, which is NOT a BAD THING! You're not in LA until you go to Tommy's!! Many locations in the LA basin, but none yet up north.

Hello Tommy's. Me love you. Me love you lots! Really though, I've been eating at this Tommy's stand since I was a kid. The memories of late nights (they used to be open 24 hrs. before stupid gang bangers caused that to change) eating there as a teen after a good drinking binge are some of my favorites. At that time there was just nothing better than a greasy, liberally loaded with chili cheeseburger & fries at 2am after coming down off of Lanark or Bills Hill! And even now, years & years later... it doesn't fail to please the tastebuds. Best of all, it somehow doesn't sit like a rock in your stomach afterward. How that's possible, I just don't know. Personally, this is my favorite chili anywhere. So stop by the shack full of nice people and order up a burger, or tamale, or even an early morning breakfast sandwich (some of the BEST!) and get it with extra chili. You'll be glad you did. originaltommys.com

Best chilli fries in town. I come here during my breaks at work. Parking is a pain when it is busy. Either park in the back or on the street, A lot of pigeons of course. Free Refills and now they offer the MEGA combo. with 3 stacks of meat a large drink and chilli cheese frieds with extra chilli. Love this place brings back so many memories.

2.5 stars Stopped here after shul to get a double cheeseburger. (Hey, I never said I kept kosher.) If you're eating there, park in the back- otherwise just pull up front. Dragging the babyseat from the parking lot was no fun. Bun was dry. I still like the Tommy's chili even if it isn't particularly spicy. Fries were surprisingly hot and good.

Need them to start delivering, that would be great! These burgers are so good anytime and everyday!! chili cheese fries yum, chili cheeseburger & soda. Usually split the burger but the chili cheese fries is for me!! I tamales are pretty good too!

The barf-looking chili tastes like the opposite. The chili cheese fries are the bomb...literally. It'll give you heart attack. It's a quick and cheap way to satisfy your fried-food-with-sauce cravings.

Ahhhh the good ole Burbank Tommy's. I spent many memorable nights of my adolescent years at this Tommy's enjoying the chili cheese fries. The tv show The Wonder Years was taped in Burbank and my summers as a teenager were kinda like Kevin's.. playing baseball in the street, staying out until after dark...you get it... life was simple, life was good and I didn't think it could get any better.... until one day my cousin introduced me to the Tommy's Tamale! WOW!!! Only Tommy's could take the two greatest food items and combine them in one perfect concoction of genius! Life lost it's simplicity after I was introduced to the amalgamation of two such culturally different elements. There was no going back... my eyes had been opened to endless possibilities, it was monumental, the universe as I knew it collided with the unknown..... life hasn't been the same since! Fusion cuisine had entered my life!

Not greasy and always clean and food always nice and hot I like this place cause you don't have to wait a long time in line or for your food

I had to try this place out after hearing about. Los angeles staple. Been around since forever. I left satisfied. Classic fast food really. Don't even think about going here if you are being healthy. This is some cheat meal times chili. This shit is crazy bad for you but crazy worth it also. I say that because the price is so cheap. Don't ever change Tommy. Anyways I ordered the chili cheese burger and chili cheese fries combo. Fantastic. Very hearty and makes you reconsider life quick. But fantastic. I love that they put the cheese under the chili. Why doesn't anyone else do that. It works perfectly. I gotta give it to Tommys, they do their thing. Now imagine if I was drunk though whew I would devour this.

Came for lunch with coworker. We called in ahead. Cheap, but very good. Not very greasy.
I love Tommy's! I've never tried any other Tommy's just because it doesn't quite feel right , this has always been my go to spot and the place where my father first took me out of all the other Tommy's . The food is fresh and tasty and will fill you up . The staff is always pretty nice and they also are very fast at getting your order out to you . Tommy's is a great place to eat with friends or to take home and hang out with friends while munching on your Tommy's .

It isn't 24 hours, but it sure is open early. Got to try the sandwich that tasted great but does it move through you quick! Kind of has "hot dog store feel" to it but Tommy is its own concoction. Slap that chili on and enjoy, just careful with the aftermath.

Tommy's should have a disclaimer posted clearly in sight. Cigarette's cause birth defects in pregnant women, can be addictive, etc. Theirs reads, please do not attempt these burgers if you're already high in cholesterol, are 8 months pregnant with a food baby, or are operating heavy machinery (food coma will ensue). Greasy, delicious chili accompanies meat patty along with pickle, tomato, onion, mustard, and cheese. Arteries fought to stay unclogged. If I wake up tomorrow, it was all worth it. If not, I died sluggish and full. Chili cheese fries add to the preexisting condition above.

It is that time of life. The Doctors say, "Your cholesterol's over 200, blood pressure and sodium high, you need to cut back on fatty foods, exercise more and eat more fiber. " I always obey. Until I get to Tommy's. If it hasn't been that time of life all along, one remembers grandparents and parents, counts blessings, tells stories at family gatherings and wallows delightedly in the swamps of reminiscence. When those hormone levels drop, it seems to be a natural phase of life. Along with bird watching, leaf peeping, snow birding, and cruising in all its varied forms. If you or yours are some of the billions displaced with less than great memories, find the good moments, savor them and let the bad ones go for awhile. The children in our family were weaned from our mother on Tommy's chili cheese burgers. Our children are generation four to dine at Tommy's. Our father used to pack the soda cooler and restock the grill at the original Original Tommy's. Payment was soda, burgers and dogs. The grandparent's home was five blocks and our parent's first apartment three blocks from the original Original Tommy's. We met at Burbank airport, none of us had eaten during our drives, flights and bus rides across the West. Where else do we eat? Tommy's. I write here with genuine food prejudice. My taste for hamburgers was established at Tommy's, close moments I shared with Dad in my early life were at Tommy's as we'd stop on the way from the grandparents to home in Burbank. A Tommy's Original, especially covered with cheese and smothered in chili, insults PETA, vegetarians of all flavors, Dr. Oz, Andrew Weil, and every Ayurvedic and macrobiotic practitioner on the planet. When those great fries are covered with chili and cheese, Adele Davis rolls over in her grave. But we love them. The grandparents have passed, the parents are fading, and our small family reunions will soon be missing us. We only assemble yearly or less and we WILL enjoy our time together. Tommy's is great. If you crave a great Angeleno burger, stop on by. Create or have some nostalgia on me.

Tommy's is solid. Man, when I was going to school I would have Tommy's probably about 3 times a week and it never got old. The best chili cheese burger i've ever had. I also my co-workers that tommy's is good for you and got them all to start eating it :D
(5)Tyler M.
(5)Geoff B.
(4)Sal M.
(4)Blake w.
Spoil yourself every once and a while. Breakfast is bomb of you get pepper jack cheese on an English muffin. This tommys makes it fresh and taste great every time
(5)Kim W.
(5)Tone R.
(3)Arpa S.
(5)Shannon M.
(5)Melissa S.

(5)Frank G.
It's Tommy's and their world famous chili-burgers. Breakfast burritos are hefty and hearty to start your day with. great stuff!
(5)Leona S.
(4)Erick R.
When you work up a "Big guy" appetite, you can't go wrong with Tommy's! I've been a frequent customer on and off to this location for a little over a year now. My two favorites are the Breakfast Burrito in the mornings, and Chili Cheese fries and a drink at anytime during the day.
(4)William H.
(5)Huggs N.

Living in Burbank, this has been the to go spot when I want chilli. Chili cheese burger and fries are the best with a drink. Love this place when it's raining. I've made a habit
(5)Jessica S.
Oh Tommys, so many memories... This Tommys is a family tradition for my family.. We stop here on the way from dodger games all the time. Over all delicious...
(5)Nick M.
Chili cheese fries with extra cheese and grilled onions. This is one of the tastiest comfort foods that there is. I know it is not for everyone but it is very good. They are quick, the order is always correct and the food is excellent.
(5)Marc E.
Tommy's breakfast sandwich is heavenly. Sausage, egg, chilli, cheese, pickles, onion, tomato,Âmustard. Need I say more? This breakfast sandwich a great for a hangover! If I were a lady and pregnant, I'd have one of these everyday.
(4)Guy N.
Chance em!
(5)Kristen S.
is it me or is this place just "ok" ?
(3)Jessicca A.
Sloppy, slow, and the burger wasn't impressive at all.
(2)Ricardo D.
Chili cheese dog and chili cheese fries awesome!
(5)Anthony B.
(5)Jessie M.
(5)Jessica C.
When you've worked a freaken long day, dealt with an hour of traffic to drive 12miles, you can't wait till your next paycheck.. Tommy's chili cheese fries and a large Pepsi for me just makes all that just go away. For that Tommy's, you will always be my comfort food.
(4)Debra C.
(3)Ryan H.
I always get a Tommy Burger when I land in LA. Their chilli burgers are delicious and unique. The chilli is more like a roué and the consistency is thick and savory. Served with their famous beef steak tomatoes this is a staple for many that grew up here. I usually get extra chilli on my fries and be sure to ask for the hot peppers. I wish they had shakes but the burger is sooo good. My wife prefers the tomale.
(5)Louie F.
(4)Greg G.
I don't get it. Best chili burger? It what country -- Vietnam? There's a jam on pico that I would never tell you people about that has the BEST chili burger... west of the mississippi.
(1)Karl D.
(4)Kourt M.
I wish this page was right so I wouldn't have to drive out there to figure out that there was really no drive thru :( love love love Tommy's bit they should've really shouldve made this one a drive thru so I wouldn't have to drive To Glendale!
(3)Rasien I.
chilli cheesey goodness! enough said!
(5)Brandon S.
(4)Fred C.
(5)Joseph H.
Most Tommy's are basically the same, and that's a good thing! If you're craving something chili-cheesy, and you are somewhere in LA, chances are that there is a Tommy's nearby and it will not disappoint you. Everything here comes out quick and the prices are not too bad either.
(5)Lo F.
Safer then driving to the one on Rampart!
(5)Phil L.
Ok guys, this place is well known for there chili cheese burgers and fries......
(4)Patty C.
yummmm TOMMY's chili.. .I love their chili cheese hotdog and their chili cheese fries. It's worth a heart attack.. HA HA j/k
(5)Emmanuel V.
This place will straight out make you wanna have a heart attack after eating all their hearty chili. I am not complaining, I LOVE IT!!! Their chili burgers and chili fries is super good.

(4)Libby H.
(3)Agnes L.
(5)Athena W.
(5)Patrick S.
Sorry Tommys, maybe next time
(2)Hanika F.

Tommy's is always good after a long night of drinking, smoking, and fluffing tits. The greasier the better.

My first visit to Tommy's and by far the BEST burger that I have ever ate!!!!!!!!!! We had the chili cheeseburger with chili cheese friesand it was all outstanding!!!

Fast, greasy, and extremely delicious. For what it is Tommy's definitely deserves a 5.

This Tommy's has been in Burbank for as long as I can remember, and no matter what time you drive by, they always have customers.

deeeeeelicioussss :)

Guiltiest of guilty pleasure!!! Great food great memories!
(5)Sonya S.
(4)Derek J.
Ah..yuck. Lame atmosphere, food, and the bums smoking and going through the trash while you eat is just so lovely...thanks again tommy's.
(1)Arturo A.
(5)Blade M.
(2)Steven O.
Best darn chili cheese fries ever! The burgers are great too!
(5)Nate F.

(5)KD K.
(2)bebe b.
Need them to start delivering, that would be great! These burgers are so good anytime and everyday!! chili cheese fries yum, chili cheeseburger & soda. Usually split the burger but the chili cheese fries is for me!! I tamales are pretty good too!
(5)Jay M.
The barf-looking chili tastes like the opposite. The chili cheese fries are the bomb...literally. It'll give you heart attack. It's a quick and cheap way to satisfy your fried-food-with-sauce cravings.
(4)Lori K.

(Dined 03/16/14 SU @ 5:00pm): Tommy's, how was it that you disappointed me? I'll tell you how and it pained me! This Original Tommy's location in Burbank used to be my go-to spot for a filthy heart-stopping-take-a-day-off-your-life chili burger and chili cheese fries while I worked in the nearby Media City Center at the Sport Chalet as I paid my way through college. On this day, I still suffered a mean hangover from a friend's wedding the night before and the pre-wedding Jagerbombs "forced" upon me by an old school chum. I came from a play in nearby NoHo and all that kept me going was the thought of killing a day off my life just so all the alcohol would be absorbed in one fell swoop. Well, as usual, it worked, and here was what did the job: Combo #2 - Chili Cheeseburger, Large Soda, & Chili Cheese Fries with Onions ($4.50 + $1.95 + $1.75) - OK, I frequented this location when I used to work in the area while I put my way through college and the chili was as phenomenal as you'd imagine. But I swore when I had my first bite into my burger and subsequent pieces of chili cheese fries, the chili didn't have that "burn a hole in your esophagus and come out through your intestine lining" that I was familiar with and appreciative of...even at my age! I dared say it tasted - wait for it - HEALTHY! WTH!?!?!? I also noticed the lack of obscene amounts of artery-clogging grease and oil. Something's not right here! Does a freaking hipster own this location now!? yelp.com/user_local_phot… Service - Quick and easy. I placed my order at the window and in under five minutes my food was ready as it steamed and smelled amazing. I saw someone in the outdoor dining area who swept and picked up the plastic trays. Otherwise, pretty hands-off. Parking (free) - A small private lot that tightly held no more than six spots. Non-metered street parking was available along the main drag of San Fernando Rd. and nearby side streets. Or, park next door at the larger Carl Jr's private lot; they didn't seem to care. Atmosphere, décor, ambience - Basically an order counter with a view into the kitchen and storage area, this Pup N' Taco lookalike with it's steep chalet roof (reference for those who grew up in the 70s and early 80s) had only outdoor seating (one section covered yelp.com/user_local_phot… and another uncovered yelp.com/user_local_phot… ). FYI...the birds seemed to bother those more in the uncovered section. The menu and prices were posted above the order window. There were no TVs or background music. No-nonsense zilch frills. Attire - Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. Overall, I've had many fond memories at this Original Tommy's location and I won't let one off eating experience damage that. But I'm much closer to the Rampart and Eagle Rock locations these days so it was merely a chance dining this time. But they seriously needed to do something about the parking situation, unless patrons were allowed to use the Carl's Jr. lot. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (total paid experience was around $9.00; no tip required). However, I'm still thrown about the healthy-tasting chili; I must go back and try again as maybe my tastebuds were off. Although they accepted credit cards, not mine of choice...AMEX!

(5)Calvin W.
