Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Great restaurant! The owner reach out to us and she's very sweet . She made some good recommendations too. The shrimp is awesome. I think it's really the best seafood restaurant in LA Very nice environment. I will definitely revisit in the future.

too expensive, too little portion and how can you claim to be an authentic CHINESE restaurant when you offer Japanese food.... and ramen?! the broth doesn't taste like it should compared with other "real" ramen restaurants. most items are over priced and taste no different or better than the restaurants down the street who's better portion wise. me and my friends are disappointed....will not return here.

Food was ok. Nothing stands out except the price. I could have much better food in the cafe next door.

Food poisoning and tasteless hot pot. Never coming back here!!

This place is great. The menu is fairly large so pretty much whatever Hongkong style Chinese food you feel like, they will have it. Service is good. Our waiter promptly came to take our order and everything was delivered within a reasonable time without any problem. The parking garage is in front of restaurant and seems to have plenty of spaces.

Grand decor, great sevices, extremely fresh seafood, plentiful choices of cuisine, reasonably priced, free parking. What more can a patron demand?
(5)Eric L.
I was noticed that a $25 sashimi boat that said to be good for 2 people was just an appertizer with bunch of vegetables.

I'm a bit surprised by some of the negative reviews here. I agree that this place has much room for improvement, primarily in service, but the food and the way they present the food is innovative and tasty. The price is on the high side since it's upscale. Do not order the ordinary dishes, like Kung Pao chicken from the menu. They have some high quality seafood and meat selection that you don't see at other Chinese restaurants. You have a choice of eating small hot pot or ordering dishes for sharing. In terms of hot pot, you have your own nice looking pot you can cook your food in. Try the dark pork meat (not on the menu) and the kobe meat from Japan ($50 a medium size plate). Or, the wagyu meat is good enough. They have some innovative appetizers here like "Tzu shen" with blueberry sauce (looking like an ice cream), snail slices and haidilao (mixture of different seafood). Surprisingly, they serve sushi and sashimi as well, which is a nice option, but they're just ok. The décor is definitely upscale. They have several banquet rooms with large round tables that can seat from 12-more than 20 people. Service definitely needs improvement as the servers didn't seem to know the menu and were not attentive enough.
(4)Ed L.
Food isn't too bad but the service is slow....Real slow....I mean 2 hrs and still waiting slow. Unless u have the whole night free I recommend going elsewhere. Seriously I think this place will go out of business soon since people leaving because the wait is so long. The portions aren't too big either so it's definitely not worth the trip.

Just as everything, if it seem too good to be true then it must be too good to be trueï¼ Under a glamorous decor and bling bling chandeliers hanging on the ceiling lays a big bad eatery. Management is nonexistent in this "fancy looking style" Chinese restaurant. Not to mention it is backed by a upscale restaurateur in China. Lets Focus on the food, one word, nasty. Service, only one freaking dimsum cart is in this whole joint and once she went by you. Good luck getting more food. Expect long wait for all your regular asking such as napkins, checks and whatnot. When check finally came, the manager (suited up guy) slammed check on the table and says " sign here!" And stands there and watch me sign..... Oh, did I mention there is no AC?!? Yup, you guessed it. Hotpot place without AC. Just as great as a dimsum place with only ONE cart! Btw, if you didn't get my sarcastic writing by now...Yeah do not near this place!!!
(1)Johnson T.
Overpriced and food is either over cooked or under cooked. When the dish came out either cold or warm. I m not coming back and would not recommend to eat at this restaurant.
(1)Connie L.
Came here at 2pm for some dim sum and since it's made to order rather than pushing carts kind of place, my boyfriend and I decided to try it out. Usually we don't get dim sum after 1 but this place looked fancy and nice once you enter the front door. I guess I was feeling fancy at the moment. This place had matching decors from chandeliers to the table and soft, comfy chairs. There's a table where you get all your sauces like soy sauce, chili oil, sesame oil, sa cha sauce, green onions, etc. We ordered usual dim sum dishes like BBQ pork rice noodle, spare ribs, shrimp dumplings, turnip cake, steamed BBQ pork buns, shui Mai, and egg tarts. Everything tasted good but not worth the price. It was $3.38 for 4 small egg tarts. The dishes range from $1.98-$5+ depending on which dim sum set you choose from (A-D). Eggs tarts- Delicious! I love egg tarts and these had a crispy and flaky crust. BBQ pork rice noodle- had good amount of meat stuffings in the rice noodle more than other places offer Spare rib- these had less fat, more meat, less bones but missing those orange pumpkin pieces I like with the spare ribs The service was good, servers were nice. There were only a few tables occupied so it wast so hard to flag down someone for some service. Overall this place was alright, pretty overpriced but it is in Arcadia.
(4)Tebo L.
Came here for lunch on a Friday. Service is just okay. Big desk. Spacious inside. Price is very low. We paid about $20 + tips for a table of 5. Only because the dimsum sucks. Really low quality stuffs. No one even want to take the left over home. I would not come back. I would rather go to Lunasia, or King Hua Alhambra. Good location. Many parking available. Near a Daiso and Starbucks. That's all I could think of.
(2)Jerry Y.
Food is okay and pricing actually on the high side. But cleanness is definitely not worth the money, got 2 soup bowls and 2 spoons, 3 out of 4 were dirty (I literally had to wipe off the remaining from previous usage with my napkins) and asked for a clean set.... That's all I got...
(2)Tiffany H.
Came to dim-sum here for the first time on Labor Day weekend! Craving some shu mai and custard buns! The restaurant is in the square with Burlington and LA fitness. It's a large restaurant with ample seating. We had a bit of a wait (15 min for 4 people). The dim sum here is different because there are no push carts. They simply give you a menu and you mark off which items you want. Makes the experience a lot less stressful when you don't have to hunt down each cart that passes to search for the items you want. The service is a bit slow, but the food was pretty good. The only thing I don't recommend is the pan fried taro cake. The taro cake was cold. My favorite was the baked buns with custard. Absolutely amazing! Egg tarts were also fabulous. Everything tasted fresh too. I could definitely do without the push carts for dim sum after this experience! Dim sum lasts until 3 PM. I definitely recommend this place to satisfy your dim sum craving!

ZOOM! Stepped into a transportation device and plopped right into Shanghai. High ceilings, huge chandeliers, everything colored in gold paint. That's what I remember when I had meals in Shanghai and it's now in Arcadia. Parking is sufficient since the restaurant shares the plaza parking lot with the other shops. Shouldn't have a problem finding parking but it does get kind of packed so you may have a bit of a walk. As for the food and service, it was pretty average. There are a few unique dishes I supposed but for the most part, the food average and NOT what you would find in Shanghai. WARNING: Be sure to ask for water OR better yet, ask them to go easy on the salt. Pretty much everything was salty. Get your Chapstick on deck. Sorry for forgetting the names but: There is a Chicken dish that is unique where they take the skin of the chicken and crisp it up and place it over pieces of shrimp paste and assembled into a shape of a chicken. Comes with sweet and sour dipping sauce. Soup of the day was watercress with gizzards and pork bones. Felt as if they were cooking it all day as the flavor was rich. A pot is enough for 6 bowls or so. As for the service, there seems to be ample servers around but never there when you need them. They are either tucked away in the back or looking down as they walk as if you are Medusa and looking at you will cause them to turn into stone. Takes forever to flag anyone down. From getting the teapot refilled to even getting the check. Maybe we came for the wrong meal since it is mainly a hot pot place but that doesn't excuse the excessive use of salt and the service... Not worth the price.
(3)Cindy C.
I really liked this place for their hot pot and used to come here almost every week. Their hot pots are so cute and their soup base (usually we get chicken or mushroom) is delicious. Price range is a bit higher than normal places, so that means the quality should be better right? Everything here looks super clean BUT... Once 3 out of 4 of my family members (including me) got food poisoning from this place, we haven't been back and probably won't ever be back. My family doesn't eat anything raw either so there has to be a serious problem here if we're cooking everything well done...

First & last time here. Initially came here for dim sum but seeing how there were hardly any dim sum selection in the carts.. I ended up just ordering a dish from their lunch special menu. The 4 dim sum dishes I did order were lukewarm & they all tasted below average. I ordered a fried pork chop with pepper salt $7.99 ( yelp.com/biz_photos/spri… ), luckily they didn't fail with this dish because I actually enjoyed it (+1 star for them). For their lunch special, it comes with rice, soup & a side dish that I never got. I also ordered their milk tea $2.95 ( s3-media4.fl.yelpcdn.com… ) which happened to be BOGO. It took them forever to bring this out.. my main dish came out before my drinks. I wasn't expecting much for the milk tea but I wasn't expecting all milk powder with no tea. I couldn't even drink half of it & that hardly happens to me because I love milk tea. They could also work on their customer service. I was in the middle of ordering & the waitress just walked away so I had to flag her down again to finish my order. Rude! I don't even understand why that happened considering the place wasn't even busy.

I would give this place more like 3.5 stars! Came here at 11am on a Tuesday afternoon with my mama. It wasn't packed when we got there but when it started to hit 12-1230 the place was getting busier and busier. There was no line the whole time we were there though. This place is huge! It looks really nice and elegant inside. Their booth tables are luxurious looking and super comfortable. The booths are usually for hotpot but I saw some dim sum eating people using it too. They also have a downstairs with private rooms. Me and my mom sat in the booths to eat hotpot and we also got to order dim sum at the same time!! So cool! I'm always craving hotpot, so the fact that they serve hotpot, dimsum, special lunch, and food from their regular menu means they have a lot of variety and we can have the best of all worlds! They have a sauce bar in the middle of the restaurant. They have a lot of selections, to name a few: satay, soy sauce, sesame oil, green onions, garlic, cilantro, sesame sauce, peanut sauce, chili oil (I highly recommend the chili oil, it's amazing!! It has a lot of flavor and it's really spicy as well) They don't charge extra for soup base, that's a plus! Me and my mom both got the mushroom soup which we thought was yummy. Put some chili oil in there for better taste and if you like spicy. There are 3 choices for hotpot and they all depend on which kind of meat you want: 1. The cheapest one is $14.99, you can choose from pork or prime beef or New Zealand lamb. (6 slices) 2. Second one is $16.99 which is the angus beef. (6 slices) 3. Third one is $17.99 which is the seafood combo. The hotpot itself already comes with a plate of the following items: crown daisy, Napa cabbage, pumpkin, corn, carrots, fish tofu, beef balls, fish dumplings, enoki mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, lotus root and glass noodles. You can order extra dishes on the side as an a la carte, but the plate of stuff they give you is already a lot in my opinion. Service isn't that good, it's really hard to get someone's attention, I think they need more workers for such a big place. They're kind of shady with food, here's why. 1. When I looked at the plate of veggies from my hotpot, I noticed they didn't give us enoki... And I love enoki, so I asked them why it wasn't there. The manager came and said they didnt have anymore so she gave us another plate of different mushrooms. Kind of made me upset because if I didn't ask them, then they would have never given us a substitution for the enoki mushrooms. 2. On the hotpot menu it says that it includes cold dishes and steamed rice. Throughout our whole entire meal they didn't give us either of those things. We completely forgot to ask them about it until the very end when we were paying for our bill. So yeah it was disappointing that we were suppose to get those things with our meal and they failed to give it to us. Pretty shady in my opinion. I hate it when restaurants do that. It's not our job to know these things, it's the workers job to know everything about the menu & what they should give us. Meal cost about $50 for both our hotspots, 2 a la carte dishes and 2 dim sum dishes.

This newly established seafood Restaurant in Arcadia has patrons dazzled by its grand interior. Nonetheless the quality of the food and taste does not match the atmosphere. Came here for dimsum and was highly disappointed by the confusing delivery of half cart order and half paper menu order. Service is okay, nothing too impressionable but the food was extremely salty. Restroom is also located very inconveniently downstairs and in an awkward corner. There are better dimsum houses!
(3)Tiffany T.
I never thought I'd see the day where I would have bad dim sum. I've eaten mediocre dim sum before, but never have I experienced unsavory shu mai. Spring Bamboo Seafood House is a relatively new restaurant and their dim sum service is even newer. Although Arcadia now has the fortune of 3 dim sum restaurants within close vicinity, 2 of them are always packed. That's why my family and I found ourselves at the 3rd option. Most of the dishes offered here did not live up to the standard of typical dim sum restaurants. The shu mai had an overly fishy aftertaste, I'm guessing, from the fish eggs that perhaps weren't so fresh. And the egg tart looked like a 5 year old's first time egg tart baking project. It was almost as if someone had used store-bought pie crust and poured the egg custard into a mold. Do not want. And the weirdest part about the restaurant was their steaming contraption situated towards the front of the restaurant right next to the seating area. I'm not exactly sure what was the purpose of this machine, but it seemed like the waiters would place the containers of steamed food there to keep warm. And they would pick them up to bring to tables. In my opinion, it's kind of tacky to have that out in the open. How long has some of those food items been sitting there? Why are there both closed steam containers and random lids lying around? Everything looks pretty chaotic. Get it together, please. The 626 has very high standards for dim sum and this restaurant's dim sum service can't possibly survive with its disappointing food and disorganization.

Another great dinner on the 1st year anniversary party of Spring Bamboo Seafood House. Great food with good friends, what more can anyone ask for.
(5)S Y.
This is our third time here, including Mother's Day which we reserved the table with an earlier time and had no problem of waiting. The dim sum selection has a lot, very special and delicate. Must try: honey brown sugar red dates rice cake, duran pastry, steamed York lotus seed paste bun, mountain yam pastry, egg tart. Our family members enjoyed crispy crueler stuff shrimp paste wrapped rice doodle, steam chicken feet with peanuts, steam pork bun, seafood soup dumplings and more. The manager, Tony, provided extend services and introduced delicious dishes. All staff are well trained and friendly. Upscaled interior with high ceiling and crystal chandelier. Private rooms style like in Taiwan/China/Hong Kong for bigger parties. Besides, the restaurant is rated "A", clean, and superior service attentive to your needs. We felt like had five star service. Highly recommended!
(5)Tina Z.
really like the service, all food is also fresh. The price is cheaper than most hotpot restaurants.
(5)E W.
Don't come here for the Dim Sum. Save your stomach and money for dinner and have hot pot! They have the best and freshest ingredients for hot pot!! Cuttlefish balls are okay though, but everything else is quality! I love how they have a nice sauce bar. Their sushi boat was delicious as an appetizer! I'll be back for sure cuz I wanted to try the fishes for hot pot. Looked like a lot for 2 people, so next time when I bring more people and more $$ haha!

This was one of the few restaurants that popped up on Baldwin, so my parents and I decided to give this place a try. When I walked in, I realized they took over the place where they used to sell pianos! The interior was really nice and seemed pretty upscale with an elevated ceiling. I think a lot of the negative reviews are solely based on the food. I was really excited about this place because it was such a nice, relaxing environment. The elevated ceilings really help a lot. However, the food was just not up to par. Especially in such an Asian neighborhood, your food has to be on point, and this place just wasn't that great. The vegetables that we ordered were pretty oily, and my mom said that they used chicken oil(?) to cook the veggies, which nobody does anymore. It's a shame because this place could be really great since I feel that Arcadia's lacking an upscale Chinese restaurant. I feel that some of the 1 star reviews are pretty harsh since it's not like the food was horrible. I've had better Chinese food for sure, but I think it deserves at least 3 stars because of the decor and the staff. The staff was very nice and the service was really good. However, if they don't improve their food or find a better chef, this place could easily run out of business in a few months.
(3)Allen C.
This place kinda sucks. It's really dark in here and it's very uncomfortable sitting at tables that are wobbly and feels like they're about to collapse. I wouldn't come here again. The rice noodles with beef, shrimp, or chasu all stick to each other. The beef balls and fish balls go flat after they're out on the table. The quality of the food is TERRIBLE. I think comparable to that of most dim sum places in Chinatown. The waiters are reluctant to move and it took more than 10 minutes to get our tea. Maybe they're not getting enough tip. I would much rather go to Full House Seafood Restaurant in the plaza next door to eat some good quality dim sum! Please don't come here if you expect good service and good food. Go next door to Full House where their waiters actually smile and the cute little old ladies ask you politely what'd you like. Just saw an employee casually answer her phone while working and a waiter cleaning some equipment with plastic gloves and buckets of water in front of the entrance. So unprofessional.
(1)Morison W.
I would say the majority of the reviews on here are fake. Why do I say that? Well, I talked to the waiter, and they said they only opened for business last Tuesday, 7/8/14. Just looking at the majority of the reviews on here so far, a lot of them were written before that date. Anyway, this place didn't make too great of an impression on me. First of all, service was pretty slow. We sat down for the longest time before someone came to take our order. It also took them a long time to bring us drinks. The first thing a good restaurant does is to ask you what you like to drink. That's very basic. They do, however, try to make it up by being pretty professional about it when they finally bring out our dishes. They would ask us if we need anything. Since they are new, I am giving them the benefit of the doubt here. Otherwise, I would have given them 2 stars, if they've been open for a long time already. Food: The only dish I liked was the Tuna Sashimi. They had a lobster special: Buy 1 get 1 Free. The flavoring was not bad, but they didn't give us a shell cracker, so it was pretty much impossible to eat. By the time this dish came out, we were already too full from the rest to really enjoy it. We also ordered a lamb dish, which was ok. It was tender, but not enough flavoring as well. Overall, if you would like to be more healthy, this is probably the place for you, since it wasn't too oily like typical Chinese restaurants. Decor was nice. Looks like they want to make this a high end, fancy type of restaurant. But if they don't up their service and food quality, it is not going to work.
(3)Stephanie C.
DO NOT COME HERE!! Everyone from the hostess to the waiters to the manager is a HOT ASS MESS. Came in for dim sum on a Tuesday. There was about 5 table. Waited for 30 mins and turns out they didn't even enter our food in. The food that were in the carts were cold and stale. The fish balls was hard as a golf ball. No body speaks English here so if you don't have a mandarin friend. GOOD LUCK. Learn sign language.

My aunt decided to have her birthday dinner here. When I yelped this place I thought it was all hot pot. However, we ended up eating the eight/nine course chinese meal like all the other Chinese restaurant have. Service was great and everything tasted really good. The place when you walk in is very modern and up to date. They are located in the same plaza as Burlington Coat Factory and Dasio. We ended up dining in one of their private rooms, but I heard they can host big parties downstairs. I guess when you park in their parking lot you are actually upstairs not downstairs. I didn't get a chance to check out the downstairs area. What we got to feast on was Lobster, crabs, duck with buns, pea and scallops, soup, meat platter, fried rice, shrimp with mayo, and the birthday butt buns. Everything was good and plentiful. I know some restaurant that give you very small portions but this place was more than enough of each item. My favorite of the night was the crabs. They were nicely salty with garlic. Service was on point. We always had our drinks full, half of the time we didn't even know someone filled it up. Plates were always clean.
(4)Weijng Z.
I went to this place for dinner once. The environment is great and the food is decent. We tried one of the fried rice dish with scallop and egg in it. It is very good and authentically Chinese but I forgot its name. The boba is great btw, comparable to those standalone tea houses and is reasonably priced. No need to queue up for half an hour for some after dinner boba anymore.
(5)Tiffany N.
We came for party of 4 for dimsum on Sunday 10:30am. The service was excellent , they pay attention to all of the costumers, and the food was delicious, my kids loved the steamed chicken feet and the steamed pork shiu-mai, anyway they like everything... Thanks to made my kid happy

This is the worst dim sum restaurant in the town. I walked in and thought about not even coming in, not even an inch and was already going to leave. The food did not look appetizing at all. Beware that it is not fresh and it will make you sick in the end. I recommend you not go to this place. Overall, I give this place 1 star out of 5.
(1)S M.
I want to give 4.5 stars because I'm so generous but I had to deduct half a star because although there were many waitresses and waiters, sometimes it's hard to find someone to request extra napkins or food. This is a Huge restaurant so it may be hard to cover all the ground. I like how you can go down the stairs for the restroom which I know Chinese people like to sit far away from. The decor was very nice, like what you'd find at a Vegas restaurant. I went in for dim sum and the food was great, price was real good, and you don't have to park in a garage but you do have to find a spot and it used to be easy but now with so many restaurants nearby it's hard. Why some idiot stole my parking space very rude, but this doesn't affect the ratings. Based on reading the reviews it looks like many here have that "one bad experience never come back" attitude. It's hard to please everybody, I guess everyone's spoiled.
(4)Art K.
Very nice new restaurant! Good service and great food! Seafood tofu soup was delicious, couldn't stop and ate the whole bowl :)

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE NICE DECOR AND PROFESSIONAL LOOKING STAFF!!! Came here with my family for dinner on a Saturday *ALSO - I heard some of the five star reviews here are FAKE. We ordered: -Seafood & Tofu Soup -House Special Lobster -Sweet & Sour Spareribs w/ HK Sauce -Dried Braised Mutton w/ Green Onion -Chicken w/ Shallots & Black Bean in Casserole. PROS: -pretty decor -their free tea is good and one of the only things that came hot -their free tapioca dessert was good CONS: (prepare yourself, there are many many things wrong with this place) -We were standing outside and a woman literally came out and forced/ushered us in. WTF? -Their seafood & tofu soup tastes like nothing - had to add a lot of red vinegar and pepper. -The first food entree to come was the mutton with green onion and it wasn't even hot. It was COLD. -House special lobster never came even after a 90 minute wait. Two servers told us that they were cooking it already but nope, never came. Good thing they took it off our check themselves or I would've thrown a fit. -Sweet & sour spareribs was really oily and 80% bone. Also COLD. -Chicken casserole, thank god it was hot. BUT TASTED LIKE NOTHING. TO SUMMARIZE WHY YOU SHOULD AVOID THIS PLACE: This place is really expensive for shitty mediocre bland cold food. WHY ARE ALL THE FOOD COLD. We expected a fresh, hot meal and was highly disappointed. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Save your money and spend it somewhere worthwhile - NOT HERE. You have been warned.
(1)Stanley K.
Fancy decor but mediocre food and spotty service. We came for lunch and had dim sum. We sat in one of the small side rooms and it was very difficult to get the waiters and dim sum carts' attention. The room had one of those service request buttons. Pressed it a few times but no one ever came. After a few attempts, we ended up placing an order with a water. Some of the dim sums took a long time to arrive that we ended up canceling those. The better dishes were decent but most were average.
(3)Angela C.
It was my Aunt Amy's birthday dinner and decided to come here to eat. When first arrival of this place, it's not that special, pretty interior and we sat in a private room. We ordered our food and the food looked presentable. But many of our dishes had to be send back twice and a third time as well. The geoduck dish had sand and was salty, the noodles were bland and overcooked, and overall of these dishes made me loose my appetite and was oily for my taste. Parking lot is located in the pavilion plaza and adjacent to Burlington and LA Fitness. Parking can be difficult when it comes to busy hours. All in all, I wouldn't recommend anyone of my family or friends to come here (again). This place may look nice but the food is appalling. Do yourself a favor and don't eat here, you'll thank me.

Expensive place. Not worth the money! Not honest business. The recently have a sign that advertise $1.98 for dim sum. It turns out only for A dish or the the simplest thing. The problem is they don't have such thing. Even the simplest bbq pork bun is type B. Special lunch supposed to come with soup and rice which they tried to jeep us. They jeeped my appetizer which is a LOL peanuts. First and last time for me. What a waste of retail space!! Stay away from this place!
(2)JJ B.
Came here with a family of 6 for lunch. Based on Yelp reviews, I had low expectations but was pleasantly surprised. Decor and service were way better than most Chinese restaurants, and food came out expeditiously. The spicy salty shrimp was spectacular (must order - came without the shell, which was surprisingly good), as was the sweet saucy pork ribs (Jing Doo Pai Goo in Mandarin). Actually the Kung Pao chicken was very good also, contrary to another review. We also ordered chicken chow fun (substituted for beef), which was good though could use more salt, crispy tofu (tsui bing tofu), and kong Xin Tsai which were also good but not extraordinary. Prices were a little above average for Chinese food but nothing unreasonable. This place has a lot of private small banquet rooms. I am picky with my Chinese food, but I would definitely return.

We came here to try the dim sum because we are so close. The tables are a bit odd. I'm guessing they are so big to accommodate hotpot? You are almost too far to comfortably talk to each other. The dim sum was, hands down, the worst I have ever had. Even getting random dim sum from the hot foods section of any chinese market is better. It tasted like they bought packs of frozen stuff and steamed it quickly. They had carts, but most of the items were lukewarm. The cart ladies seemed inexperienced and unprepared. They never had the sauce that went with each dish or did not have scissors to cut. I know their dim sum service just started so I can give them a pass on that, if the food was any good. The only "positive" I could think of -- because they serve hotpot, they have a table near the front set up with a gazillion sauces, onions, garlic, hot sauce, etc. So you can create a fancy sauce for your dim sum. Though really, no amount of sauce could save that food. Its too bad. We love finding new dim sum places. I don't think they will last unless they make some big changes.

This is fourth time I came to this place. I came here 3 times during their soft open.... their interior decoration in very upscale, food is very fresh, I had hot pot few times, decent food, I like their beef, but pork is the best. Service was good, very friendly. Last week, I came with group of friends. We had a private room. WOW !!! The sashimi platter was very impressive , very fresh, great presentation and enough for over 13 people, we also had lobster, called Bi Fung Tang lobster, delicious. Only thing I was not very impress, is mountain yam with blueberry jam for the cold dish. Has no taste. Even so, I still give them 5 star and for sure will came back again!

This place is actually a franchise in China. We ordered the House special hot pot and it was delicious! I actually enjoyed the broth. We also order the spicy salmon sashimi the presentation was beautiful ! It would have been nice if it was more spicy but it was very fresh. My friend also enjoyed her Strawberry slush! We also tried shrimp roast in sea salt but need to warn people to just eat the insides . Finally I got the desert coconut ice cream with tapioca very light yet delicious

Cliff notes: fancy hot pot place with good quality ingredients and service but confusing menu and a bit pricey. I went to this place with my mom looking for a new hot pot restaurant to try. I wasn't sure we were in the right place walking in. The restaurant was decorated with chandeliers and the decor was very similar to the Chinese banquet restaurants. There was a hostess to greet us and the wait staff was very helpful. This place was probably the fanciest hot pot place I've ever been to. I didn't even know high end chinese hot pot was a thing! Anyways, we sat down and the menu pretty confusing. The restaurant serves traditional Chinese dishes and the hot pot items. There are also hot put combos which can start at $30-100. Kinda over the top for just hot pot for two, but if you like to live large, be my guest. Imo: Ordering a la carte is better for groups less than 4. Items seem expensive but you get a lot of stuff per order. 2 ppl can each order a soup base and small meat plate, then share the veggies combo and one or two more items. My mom and I ordered two soups, a small pork, small beef, lotus root, tofu, Chinese spinach, shrimp balls, and enoki mushrooms. We also got a mixed seafood dish to share. Needless to say, we ordered way too much food and it got pretty expensive. I think if you order the appropriate amount for your party, the prices are reasonable.

Wide variety of food from dim sum, hot pot, seafood etc. Place is very clean and quite esthetic inside. Service is very good for a Chinese restaurant, which is very rare. Quality of food is good. Prices are decent. Overall the decor and service I would give 5 stars. Food I would give 4 for an average of 4.5. Definitely will return here as there is not much wait for dim sum. No wait for above average dim sum or 2 hour wait for great dim sum, no brainer. As much as I love food, 2 hour waits are usually not worth it.

I strongly recommend this restaurant to everyone who like shabu shabu. Though it's Cantonese restaurant, it has great sashimi S well. The seafood is good, along with the sashimi. I have to say the fish is very fresh, and I can feel that the way the chef uses the knife is very professional. Besides, the personal hot pot, or shabu shabu tastes very delicious, and the whole decoration is wonderful. I can't find another chinese restaurant in LA with such a good decoration. BTW this is the first time I use yelp, lol

Service are okay. Food is too awful....I ordered abaloneã€Korean turbot fish & live geoduck sashimi... they taste so bad....The abalone is not fresh at all, just like canned abalone. We paid 320 dollars for such a bad quality dinner...!! We even feedback them the fish is over cooked. They said it's normal. Unbelievable! Will never come back!

I went to Sunday Brunch with my friends at this newly opened Restaurant. I didn't know what to expect, I just knew it was a very nice elegant place and everything used in the restaurant was imported straight from Beijing, for that authentic Chinese feeling. I was really surprised by how nice this restaurant looked. It was very high end. The decor was very warm and the staff was really friendly. The restaurant was really quiet compared to other noisy Chinese restaurants. The seating is spaced out nicely and not all cramped together. This is the first time I've been to a restaurant with all marble tables, every table, even the lazy susan's were made of marble. I had a truly amazing experience from the moment I stepped inside the restaurant until the time I left. The food was nothing short of spectacular. All the dishes were really delicious and really fresh. The portions were good sized and the presentation was just out of this world. The prized dish that we ordered was the Sashimi plate. It was enough for 14 of us to share, the assortment of seafood was really good, a little bit of everything. The shrimp and scallop sashimi was the best I've ever had. This is definitely a place I will return to with my family.

I can't believe this place is only 3 stars. The only thing I can think of is when it first opened they did not have their act together yet. Great service, great food at decent prices. They offer a wide variety of food from traditional to hot pot. This restaurant is in our regular rotation of places to eat at.
(5)Steve H.
Tons of waitstaff, but I guess not many are trained. Is it because the restaurant is too new so they don't know the ins and outs of their operations? Or is it they are simply too green in the restaurant business. The dining room is quite elegant, very nice atmosphere. But not sure about the restroom in the basement. They do have an elevator to meet the ADA requirements (wheelchair assessable). We did not do the expensive seafood or the hotpot option. We ordered three simple everyday dishes. Half of chicken, shrimp with walnuts, and seafood and tofu pot. Each dish was $15, which isn't bad. The dishes tasted fine (a little saltier than I would like, but it was ok). They also gave us 10% grand opening discount. It took a long while before we can flagged down someone to take our order, and then our "appetizer' came with all three entrees. Again, another oddity for a chinese restaurant to bring all the entrees at once. The table next to us ordered quite a bit. It will be unlikely for us to return to order the hotpot, but we will probably come back for the seafood.
(3)Lisa C.
I really like this place. It gives you choices of tradition high end chinese food and hotpot. The ingredients are fresh. The waiters are plenty and courteous.
(5)John X.
This place is such a rip-off. My wife and I spent $150 here, and I am no Joey Chestnut, who eats 50+ hot dogs in 1 sitting, neither is my wife. We did not even order sushimi or Kobe beef. MORE IMPORTANTLY, we had 1/3 of the veggie plate and 1/3 of the mushroom plate left over, and SURPRISINGLY, the waitress put everything in a plastic shopping bag DIRECTLY, WITHOUT PUTTING IT IN A BOX FIRST. I treat the homeless better than this, and I deserve better given that I have dropped $150 at this stinky place. We confronted with the manager, and the manager said, oh, we could put it in a box for you now. I would like to ask the readers, if I spit on your face, then wipe out that spit, does that make it even?! (I would give -100 star if I could)
(1)Steve G.
We have been here 3 times already. I must say it's probably the best seafood hot pot in LA. This place is not cheap but quality is top notch. Avg $40-75 per person. If you are looking for a inexpensive meal, this is not where you wanna be and you will be dissatisfied. Order the 75 dollar hot pot combo for 2 and you will be in heaven. 100 dollar combo wasn't as good because I didn't like the Kobe beef. Too fatty and oily...made me feel uncomfortable afterwards.

I went to this fancy restaurant twice. One with my GF, another time w/ my family party. I think tht this place is the most luxury restaurant I never ever seen in San Gabriel Valley. They have many VIP rooms. If you r planning to have a BDay or family party. This place is the most appropriate place. Food there is good. They r kind of like an international food fusion. Then have little hot pot. Also individual hot pot. We can eat many live seafood. Moreover, they have sashimi. I heared abt that they added Cantonese food as well recently. In addition to food , their services are great .
(5)Elena Z.
I love this placeï¼The best seafood restaurant in SG valley. Also they are friendly and polite. I really love the food ! 5 star!!!

We have been here a couple of time. Came here for dinner and it was pretty good. Nothing extremely special for a Chinese restaurant in this area. It is no where near the best. We come here because my family lives near by and my brother doesn't believe traveling far with kids. This is my first post on yelp because the experience was so poor for a Chinese dim sum place. Food was cold and dry. The restaurant was reheating food and failing at it. Left over dim sum at 10:30 am is unheard of in this area. They even messed up the bill and place an item that didn't come out because chef is not here on our bill. The service was not bad, but there was a lot flaws.
(2)Shilung L.
Expensive, taste so so, and service not good. Please do not waste your money here. This review is based on my visit 2015/01/31 lunch time for having their Din Sum.

I just came here for a family dinner to celebrate my fathers birthday and my whole entire family were dissatisfied. They didn't come around to refill our tea, or bring napkins. When the food came none of us had utensils we had to ask for utensils and plates! We ordered water and we never got them. And when it came time for the cake my sister had to go to the front to ask for it, and bring it to the table, and they didn't offer to bring it or light up the candles or give us a lighter to light the candles, and we had to ask for serving plates and forks, and when they brought us the plates they failed to bring the forks and napkins. All in all horrible service. We had all gotten food poisoning from the seafood here the next day! And we all had to go to work the next day! NEVER COMING BACK EVER AGAIN!!!!
(1)Xing Y.
Individual hot pots is very tasty, one of the few Chinese restaurant that has good service. The interior decoration is very nice and clean. Hot pot lunch special is pretty good value, and they also offer family style dishes like other Chinese seafood restaurants. They also have private rooms for large groups!

Came here for dinner with my parents tonight. Saw that very thus was close to my house and the decor was pretty. Prices were normal to high but I am fine with it as long as the food is good. Average very price per dish was $13. Service was good. Everyone was very helpful even after my dad returned the pork dish. Retired a stir fry fish and was still disappointing. All the dishes had no flavor. The lamb with scallions dish should be so fragrant with garlic and onion but it was not. Tasted like it was boiled. And so was the fish. I think their stove top needs to be hotter before they start cooking the food. Sadly I will not be coming back.
(2)Cindy ..
Probably the worst dim sum place around the area, but the waiters/waitresses are relatively polite, but food comes out way way too slow. The dim sum qualities bad, very oily. Sadly, wouldn't come back for their dim sum again unless they drastically improve their overall restaurant.
(1)Hazel H.
Here we go again!!! Food... Improved. Speed of Service.. Improved. They now have a list of combo for you to choose, price from 29dollars per person to 98 dollars per person. Freah meat, quality vegetables, very good value... enough food to fill you up. Live seafood finally available!!! We had a Geoduck 19.99/lbs. Didnt eat Lobster, but they have special, buy 1lb get 1 lb free~$19.99/lb. Drinks buy 1 get 1 free. Ummm...soup base can still be a bit stronger tho. Yes... it is an expensive place... but the service, enviroment and taste of the food is really different compare to those 20 bucks all you can eat places on Valley Blvd.

It's Mother's Day brunch time and you're looking for some delicious dim sum to sweeten up your day. Spring Bamboo Seafood House. Let's try it. Party of 14 and everyone's hungry and ready to have a good brunch. After an hour of waiting in a not too packed and beautiful interior, we were seated in an extremely small and packed room. When I say small, I mean SMALL. We were struggling to get around the room due to such limited space. There was also a single door so it was even harder for people to get in back and forth. I understand this is just poor design and seating, but what comes next puts a rotten cherry in a soup of warm, melted ice cream. We ordered our dim sum and all was going well despite the horrible seating (just that specific area; the other spots aren't too bad). First off, we had some egg custard (or those little egg tart things). It was a little small but I cared more about the flavor. The crust was more flaky, dry, and had a powdery taste. Not the worst I've ever had, but it comes pretty close. For the next few dishes that we had, none of it was surprising. This includes many of the classics such as ha-gao and siu-mai (not sure that's how you spell it). Why do they charge so much for such crappy food? We ordered the Peking duck, which is sliced duck with light shrimp chips and some veggies wrapped in a little steamed buns and topped with sauce (kinda like a taco but not actually a taco). The duck was sliced extremely large and the chips were stale. Some of the pieces were so hard that you'd need a hammer to break them in half. The duck itself was pretty tasty though, I'm not going to lie. We ordered a few more dishes including some fried rice, noodles, and roast pork. The fried rice and noodles came 30 minutes once all of the dim sum was gone, and the pork came in 30 minutes after. The pork was cold(or room temperature) which made the crispy skin a little soggy and chewy. When we asked for more water (about 3-4 times), they didn't deliver. Not until we had to get up and get it from the employees ourselves. They didn't even provide us with basic sauces such as soy sauce and red vinegar. They did however have a self serve sauce station but considering how small of a room we were given it was a hassle to get to. Even when I did manage to squeeze out of the room to get sauce, the amount of sauces and condiments baffled me. I didn't even know what half the stuff was. At least they had soy sauce, just no red vinegar. The sloppy management and organization of this restaurant is truly disappointing. I understand that it was Mother's Day, but it shouldn't have been this bad. Pros: - At least it looked nice. Cons: - Sloppy management. - Horrible food. - Too pricy for the quality Highly recommend not coming here.

My family and I were excited to try this restaurant out since it recently opened in my area. We went on a Saturday around noon and was surprised that the entire restaurant was probably about 1/6 filled (if even). They were doing promotions with huge banners everywhere that said Buy 1 Get 1 Free but were sadly disappointed after we sat down that it was only on beverages. Definitely a great way to lure in customers! I personally was not a big fan of the restaurant set up because it was basically a huge open space with tables scattered throughout with awkward large gaps in between tables. I believe there are private rooms downstairs as well. We tried the following items: Mixed Seafood Appetizer: There was a decent amount of seafood in this dish but it was completely drenched in sauce which was a bit overwhelming. The sauce was too salty and did not seem to complement the seafood that well. Sauteed Shrimp: Considering this place is a seafood restaurant, I was hoping this dish would at least have something special. Instead, it was just a simple stir-fried shrimp with celery drenched in oil and was a bit bland in flavor. Nothing special. House Special Hot Pot: They claim that their hot pot is from Hai Di Lao but we haven't had a chance to try their restaurant yet. I'm not sure if they're actually associated with Hai Di Lao or they just use their soup base. I cannot compare it to Hai Di Lao's actual soup base but I thought Spring Bamboo's version was nothing special. It was a pretty light soup base and, in my opinion, it was not really worth $12.95 for the amount of ingredients in it compared to other personal hot pot restaurants. Seafood Hot Pot: My dad tried this dish and said that the soup base was very similar if not exactly the same as the House Special soup base. It came with two lobsters but they were so small that there was barely any lobster meat worth eating under the shell. The lobsters were there for appearance but definitely not meant to be eaten. Overall, I was not really impressed with my experience at Spring Bamboo. The staff was very attentive considering they had about 20 waiters for the few tables during lunch. The food, however, is not something I would return back for. It is a tad pricey for chinese food considering the quality of food they serve.

Bad service , bad food! No one took care of us and we waited for long time and it turned out that they forgot to cook our food !!!!!
(1)Claire L.
Overpriced... Live fish $39.99... Trenched in soy sauce so it was steamed.. Quality wise I would rather go Newport seafood... Lunch special was a disaster, $12.95 salmon & unagi rice bowl tasted really -- microwaved.. Really room temperature. For the price I expected better. Service was okay. Kinda pushy for more dishes though.. If that's not done well it would be really irritating and scaring customers away. Even though we were lucky to have the 10% off, the bill was $60+ for a Sunday lunch with 2 dishes.... For this price I can go to a Sunday brunch... The interior was great, but the food.. Nothing much.

Poor service, bland and unimpressive food, high prices, and to top it all off - the lights going dark during dinner service forces me to leave a 1 star review. The restaurant is large, decor is new and modern but that's about it for the positives. There are many female waitresses that just hang around and when asked for assistance, are unhelpful. I honestly think they're hired to be eye candy. The few waiters that actually provide service are brusque and standoffish. Probably due to being overworked. Despite calling itself a seafood restaurant, the chefs in the back clearly have not had much experience dealing with the delicate nature of seafood. The steamed fish, normally light and fluffy, was hard as a rock. Most everything was overcooked. Also the lights going out in the middle of dinner was just the perfect end to a miserable meal.
(1)Ken K.
Terrible food, nothing fresh, do not recommend, cheap dim sum price, dim sum is equally cheap, fish is not fresh at all, I will never ever come here again, one of the worst places. The only thing maybe a bit better is this place is newly modeled, but they don't keep it clean, the carpets is dirty and disgusting. You walk on it, and you will feel it sticky to your shoes.
(1)J G.
This place mainly caters to the ultra rich but naive Chinese wanting an experience from "back home" mainland. Prices reflect the same. We ordered mainly from the dinner special menu we got in the mail advertising. We decided to try it out and see if the advert was up to snuff. The supposedly hot dishes we got were cold, probably because the kitchen is downstairs. There's an elevator for the waitcarts that shuttles the food up and down. The place does Shabu and it seems like it's the staple cause they're lining up at the Shabu spice table. We got the pumpkin clams, but no fresh or frozen clams, only pumpkin and canned clam meat. The salt pepper pork was ok, because there were a few pieces that were folded, so it wasn't cooked too well. The lettuce wraps were ok and the highlight of the entire meal was the chicken and snap peas.
(3)Rock C.
Lunch Hot pot is great! many choices of sauce and lots of food for $15. Dim sum is good as well, taste like it's better quality than that place we usually go to next to 99 ranch market. Also came on Mother's day for lunch and we actually didn't need to wait that was a surprise. Service is good too! Will be back for sure.
(5)Genny T.
5 out of 5 stars for their impecable customer service!!! Everyone is courteous, they will make sure your cup of tea is always full & change your plate w/ a new one like eating fine dining style. Taste is not your typical Chinese resto, theirs is distinct. Great place for family, groups & banquet, will def recommend! ... and this is not a fake 5 star review by the way :)
(5)Justin Y.
I give this restaurant 5 stars because this restaurant gives me one of the most pleasant dining experience in SG valley. First, the decoration is very good. Unlike many Chinese restaurants that have poor design in San Gabriel valley, this restaurant has a comparatively luxury decoration. The space between tables is huge so it's less crowded; the VIP rooms provide perfect privacy. It's wonderful for business and family. Second, the seafood is fresh. I've been to many good Japanese restaurants here in LA, but this one has one of the best sashimi! I strongly recommend you to have a try. The shabu shabu here is also very tasty. Third, the service is wonderful. Clean tables, friendly waitress, fast dishes.. The cook even came to us and asked our opinions about the dishes. In general, having a meal in Spring Bamboo is one of the most pleasant Chinese food experiences here in LA to me.
(5)Julie T.
Based on our experience, one star is actually generous. First, the restaurant is clean and the decor is nice - so, maybe that deserves 1-star for effort. Beyond that, the menu is a confusing mess of HK-style seafood, Hot Pot and Sushi. Not fusion. More like the owners couldn't focus on one thing and wanted to tackle it all. We were overwhelmed so we ordered off the lunch menu. The food was served on nice new plates and look visually pleasing. But immediately, there was a foul scent emitting from the seafood pan fried noodles. I thought I was being over-sensitive, so I took a serving and chowed into rancid cuttlefish. To be fair, the fish filet and shrimp just tasted fishy, but not a day or two past prime. My co-worker confirmed the cuttlefish was funky, and we asked the server to inform the kitchen that they served us bad seafood. I asked them to take a whiff to confirm that we weren't just being bitchy. The lead server apologized and offered to replace the dish. (I asked for chicken instead of seafood for the replacement). Less than 2-minutes later, my other co-worker pulled a 1 1/2-inch long metal dish scrubber brush bristle out of our mixed veggies. At this point, I started fearing that they would think we're scammers trying to score a free meal, because what are the odds that we order 3 dishes, and one's rancid and the other contains a metal contaminant? Again, the same lead server came over and apologized profusely, saying that he was going to talk to the manager because they're having problems with the kitchen. It was too bad, because the mixed veggie dish was the only one that was vaguely decent. They used fresh mushrooms instead of the standard canned mushrooms. Our other dish was a kung pao chicken that was mostly flavorless with some peanuts tossed in for visual appeal. I'm convinced this place is a front for money laundering because there is no way the food could be this bad in a place this large and still stay in business. There are so many great restaurants in the vicinity. Do not waste your time or money in this pit.

Came here for dim sum. There's plenty of parking in the Pavilions lot. It's convenient to get your quick fix of your drink of choice (boba, jamba, coffee) after your meal. Their cart-style dim sum was a mixed bag. The shiu mai was one of the better ones I've had in the area, but their sticky rice wrapped in leaf was cold. They don't skimp on their tea leaves and everything was clean. There was also no wait at 11:30AM on a Sunday with plenty of seating available. I'd give it some time before coming back here again.

I was invited to join some friends for Dim Sum here a few weeks ago. Totally new experience for me and apparently they had just started serving dim sum recently. For those of you familiar with the area, Spring Bamboo is located where the Steinway Piano store used to be. And after you've heard that, you can kind of see how the layout used to be a Piano store-- for better or worse. Spring Bamboo was really a tale of two stories-- the food & the service. The food was actually pretty solid overall. There wasn't any particular dish that were substandard, but there wasn't any dish that was knockout of the park memorable good. But all in all, very good all around. Certain things will let you know the proper attention to the food such as the crispness of the sesame balls, the tenderness of the chicken feet (did I just say that??), or the savory subtitles of the har gow / siu mai. I'd give that part of the story a 4* for the dim sum. The service on the other hand was absolutely terrible. I really do hope it may be the logistical kinks of a new operation, or maybe poor planning for a Memorial Day Monday. We got there at 10 AM, and it seems like they are just starting up operations. Only one cart with half of what she usually carries were going around. They have a menu that you can select from-- implying a service that might operate more along the lines of what a Lunasia or Elite offers, but we didn't get any receipt or half the things we ordered in the hour and a half we were there. It seems almost as if the check boxes on the paper menu are more of putting a request in with the DJ. Maybe you'll get to hear it if he likes your jam? Between that and the carts coming by at such a sparse pace, we weren't sure what type of operation they were running. Total lack of identity when it came to the service. On top of that, there were only one waiter shuffling between all the tables in our area so even getting the check and paying for the check was complete ordeal. It was not any fault of the waiter specifically-- I would put that on the management. By the time we left, there was a fairly decent queue outside, but still a few unattended tables; another sign of poor service management. 1* for service. I hope Spring Bamboo can sort out these logistical issues. It seems fixable; and I really do hope they do. In the end, hope to revisit again in the future and bump them up accordingly.

I was impressed with the square footage of this place, it's huge. Pretty massive floor space and high ceilings. I wonder how this will be in a few years. The upkeep will be pretty pricey with all the wear and tear. Anyway, it was clean, sanitary, and very well serviced. My mom and I came here after church. We ordered hot pot only. The other items seemed rather pricey and the hot pot was a lunch special called "healthy choice" or something. The food was fresh and the hot pot was good. The sauces and other condiments were serve yourself at this round table buffet thing close to the entrance. The items were mislabeled but still looked fairly clean. Would return, but probably just for hot pot.
(4)Timothy Y.
Overall this place for Chinese seafood is pretty decent given the cost for DINNER. Their best dish is probably their Peking duck as their duck skin and meat is very crispy. The service is pretty good with frequent clean dish switches and attentive waiters.

I came here for dinner with my SO on Saturday night. Before coming here, I have read the reviews and generally, seemed mixed. Not surprisingly, my experience was mixed too. The goods: - attentive service - ambiance of the restaurant; if you care for ambiance, you will love this place. It has very luxury decorations that you would normally find at high-end restaurants. Food was A-OK. My SO and I ordered the hot pot combo. We each had our individual small pot. My chicken soup base was light and refreshing. My SO's mushroom was flavorful. The plate of meat and seafood did not stand out from other mediocre hot pot places I've been to. I did like the sauce bar that they had. It was nicely decorated and placed. The price came out to be around $30~ per person. Overall, this place did not impress me, nor disappoint me. I am willing to give it a second try and try their entrees next time. I personally think that it is hard for them to compete with other hot pot places like Hai Di Lao and Mokkoji unless they step up their game and offer something different.
(3)Alastair R.
Sub-standard compared to other places - will not return. Dim sum serving restaurants are very common in the San Gabriel valley, especially in Arcadia. This place falls way short of that common standard. Here's why: there is a line but there are many empty tables available to accommodate those who are waiting in line! This shows inefficiency on the part of the host. The service is quite slow. When the dim sum carts arrived, the food was cold and not fresh. Given the large number of restaurants serving good food, we decided not to return.

I love the siu mai(juicy and just delicious), bbq pork cheung fun has preserved egg which I love, and the pineapple cream buns are just to die for.

This update is solely on my attempt to get dimsum to go again last Sun. So I went in, ordered about 6 dimsum items to go with the hostess just like the last time. Different girl but same process. As they were swamped, she told me that I can pay for the order when I pick it up. As the lobby as a mob scene, I went outside and waited for about 15 min. and then went back in to check. The hostess said they're just packing up the order, so I went back outside for another 5 min. or so. So when I go back up to pick up/pay for the order, the girl tells me that they screwed up my order and it will be another 10 min. THIRTY MINUTES to get dimsum to go? Now, the thing that really chaps my hide is, I didn't order anything "special." They were all stuff that were circulating in the dining room on the various dimsum carts. Shouldn't someone working there have the foresight/thought to figure out "Hey, why don't I just grab the appropriate orders and box them up?" Alas, NOPE, all the girl said was it'll be another 10 min. OH HAIL NO!!! So, as good as the dimsum was, I guess that was the first/last time, seeing as all the other Yelp reviews about their horrible service was spot on.
(1)J W.
Dim sum sucks. Not too many to choose from. Food was barely warm.
