Got take out from here. The food was very good, portions were large, coulda been a bit more meat in the dishes, but over all great food.

I am lucky enough to live 2 minutes from this hidden gem. I usually get takeout when my wife and I don't have time to cook on the weeknights. Personal favorites are the pad thai, pad see ew, the tom yum koong soup, and all of the curries (panag, red, green, yellow). This is a family owned business, and the owners are always pleasant. The food is prepared fresh, and tastes delicious. If you happen to live in the Yorba Linda/Anaheim Hills area, this place is definitely worth checking out.

My husband and I absolutely love the wonderful food and great service at this restaurant. We always start with the fried gyosi...it's the best I've ever tasted. The Curry is fabulous as well so very flavorful. We had been looking for a great Thai restaurant when we finally found this one. The staff is friendly and attentive.

Must rate a five in my book for service . Family style restaurant. Best mango sticky rice I have tried in a while .

For my first experience at this restaurant, I had high expectations after reviewing fellow "yelpers." Food was a tad sweet for my Thai liking. Pad Thai is a little greasy and they only have one kids highchair and it's broken! We came here early on a Friday night to avoid the crowds at other chain restaurants but it seemed the restaurant was way busy for a party of four and a little slow at times.

Just got back from a month in Thailand. Came home and realized that I really missed all the delicious food that I had at my disposal there... so I gave this a shot last night. The tom yum soup was fabulous. We shared a cup and it was a really good starter size. We split the angel wings, the som tum papaya salad, and the panang curry with pork. Yes, the reviews are right, you do have to pay $2 for a bowl of steamed rice. The som tum was very meh. I love that stuff- it has the perfect balance of everything delicious and except for the crazy amounts of salt, this salad is really good for you! I was disappointed that this place didn't make the salad with the salted crabs that I love so much. It also felt like the salad wasn't pounded like it ought to be. I ordered it at a three and there was one sorry looking red chili in there- not spicy at all. It needed more dried shrimp and definitely needed more fish sauce (never thought I would miss fish sauce). The angel wings were nice and crunchy and piping hot. Good but I don't know if I would get them again- I might spring for the satay instead. The curry was really good but not spicy enough and definitely the first time I have had a peanut butter base instead of the traditional coconut milk base for a panang. The meat in it was perfectly cooked though. Pro tip: If the owners of the Thai restaurant are actually Thai (and the food is not advertised as being specifically southern Thai), get the pork every time. Pork is the preferred meat in Thailand, which means that the majority of the time, the flavours of the curry or whatever will be geared to best suit the flavour of pork. Seriously. For all that food, the bill came to $34 with tax (without tip). We both left feeling very sated. We'll be back!

Great food!!! Ordered the cashew nut chicken. Delicious sauce. Orange chicken was very light and crispy, the kids loved it. Place is very small, only 9 tables but the food was great. First time here and we'll be back!

more like a 3.5/5 stars. i believe this place closes at 9 or 9:30 depending on the day. its located in the same plaza as staters bro. its small and easily overlooked. I ended up getting the 1) Yellow curry: mild hot slightly sweet with potatoes, onions, carrots, and coconut milk in yellow curry sauce 2) Tom Kha Gai soup: A spicy Thai soup with coconut milk, chicken, mushrooms, tomatoes a touch of lime juice, chili and fresh Thai herbs. 3)Pad Thai: A generous portion of thin rice noodles tossed with chicken, egg, bean sprouts, green onion and crushed peanuts before you assume that i'm a fat ass and got everything myself... i went with a friend. but... you're still right if you think i'm a fat ass. i love to eat eat eat.... haha. the yellow curry is good. i like that it has a sweet taste to it.... make sure you get rice to go with it. the soup was excellent, however it was more milky than other tom kha gai soups ive tried.... i should have went with the Tom Yum Gai... cuz i love sour soups like this. the pad thai was nothing too special. i wished it had more tamarind juice.... it was kinda bland. we got it with shrimp and we got like 5-6 pieces or so. the owner is extremely nice and friendly. i'll be back if i'm craving thai food!! to sum it up, the food is alright.. service is good. and price is normal. for all of the above, i paid around 33 ish.

By far the best thai food I have had in really long time!! The $7.95 lunch special is the way to go! I had the pad thai which came with soup or salad and wontons and all three were delicious! The portion size was HUGE and took me two days to finish! I also got an order of egg rolls and they were fried to perfection! I will definitely be back for more!

I don't understand the great reviews for this place. I ordered take out, got the satay, orange chicken, and noodles, and it was 35 bucks! I don't mind paying, but the portions were so small we had to heat up some food after we were done. Food = 3 stars, very average. Portion = 0 stars. There are plenty of other places that are just as good with larger portions.

Everything I tried in this place just satisfy me. Combination fried rice is bomb. Prik king is bomb. Pad Thai is bomb. Tom Ka is awesome. You can never go wrong. If you're looking for Thai home cooking, this is the place for you.

On our way to meet up with some of his friends for a belated birthday celebration in Anaheim, Duke D. and I stopped at this Thai restaurant because he had been craving some. It was a hidden away place that was a bit difficult to find (Google Maps had said it was on one side but it was on the other) but once we got there, it was small and charming. We started out dinner off with their Thai tea (true to form and scrumptious) and the fried Thai curry. we chose the latter because of the name - it sounded quite curious. What it was was dollops of their curry wrapped in wonton wrappers and deep-fried. Sound awesome? It sure was. I loved the tangy sauce it came with too! We got a hot pot version of their Tom Kha Gai (coconut milk, chicken, mushrooms, tomatoes, lime juice, chili and fresh Thai herbs) which came in a great bowl that was heated throughout. It was a little hard to scoop once it got to the bottom but we were at the bottom because it was delicious. I found it a bit too sour from the lime but I know that it was Duke D.'s favorite for the night. Hearty and spicy, this was a soup for when you're sick or just need a warm pick-me-up. The other main entree was their yellow curry which was described as "mild hot slightly sweet with potatoes, onions, carrots, and coconut milk in yellow curry sauce," but really, there was no heat. They did their potatoes quite well where they were in the state between soft and firm (hoorah) and the curry sauce itself was flavorful (though not spicy). Unfortunately, I'll have to dock them for having carrots and onions still too raw and the chicken much too dry. Overall, it was a quaint little family-owned place with an all Thai staff but there were some misses with their supposedly popular dish. Don't worry - I'd still come back. That soup needs a stomach to go into after all!

This restaurant now has a new chef coz their pad thai is not good anymore. It use to have that perfect sweet and sour balance but now its too sour. One time I ordered by phone and asked if the old chef came back yet. And they said "yes" just so that I can order. I was very disappointed! I wish they would just tell the truth. I would've just ordered a different dish. The wait here use to be worth it but now its not. Bring back the old chef please!

Horribly slow service. I waited over 10 minutes after being seated but nobody ever showed up to take my order, so I just left to eat elsewhere. Only two other tables were occupied. Too bad because menu looked promising.

Not a lot of options for good Thai food for me since I live in DT Brea. We've tried Thai Specialty on Imperial (not impressed) and will sometimes pickup Thai Basil (solid) in Fullerton, but for the most part, still drive to Thai Nakorn to satisfy our cravings. So finding this place was a delight! The wife and I always look for a good, deep fried catfish in thai spices and the one here did not disappoint! Fried rice was a little oily, but we also enjoyed the fact that we were being served by a mom & pop that reminded us of our own parents. They do move slowly, but we were still impressed with their hospitality and the food. Mango sticky rice and baby coconut for dessert was excellent as well!

I really love this place. The owners are very sweet! Every time you come in, they acknowledge you & make you feel very welcomed by making conversation right away. I love their Tom Yum chicken soup. They make you choose a level of spice from 1-5. I always get 3, but I think 2 would be ideal. The place itself is located in the Stater Bros plaza. It's right next door to a dry cleaners. It's not a very big restaurant, but I don't mind. Oh! I love how they deliver to your house, but only if you live a certain distance from the restaurant. They charge a small fee for that. Whenever I get sick & can't get in my car to pick up some Tom Yum chicken myself, I call them and they kindly & happily bring it to my front door.

Found this place thru Yelp and we figured, it's got 4.5 stars and 100+ reviews so this place must be good. When we got there, the two "People Love Us on Yelp" stickers by the door gave us further assurance we would have a great meal. Well..... TASTE - average. I've had better Thai food in Rowland Height or Thai Town in Hollywood. Thai Lingo on Tustin actually tastes better. We like spicy food so we had our entrees and soup at level 5 (levels 1-5) and it was more like medium spicy in comparison to other Thai restaurants. PORTION - smaller than all the other Thai restaurants. I did notice pictures other Yelpers posted show generous portions but no new pictures were posted recently. I am guessing the portion shrunk due to inflation (while they didn't raise the price, they adjusted their portion). If you are going to eat here family style and you are used to portions at other Thai places, I suggest order an extra entree or two here... Also, like all the other Thai places, they charge for steamed rice. $2 per entree SERVICE - there were only 3 tables of 2, including us, so service was prompt

Oh my gosh there food is so good. I am a huge fan of Thai. I literally searched for the best places. And they know how to make their food. The owners and cooks are Thai and they know their spices. The soups and dishes are amazing. My favorites are Pad Thai, hot and sour soup, cashew chicken, padi kee mo, and curry like chicken. You cant make it at home at their prices, so dont even try. Have dinner for 2 for $23 and call it a night!.

Love this place! First of all, I love that it's run by an older Thai couple. They are super sweet and ALWAYS there. Chicken satay is always my go to appetizer here. I love the pad Thai, pri king beef, panang curry and the garlic beef. Oh ya and the Thai iced tea!! Yum!!! The owners are also very good and recommending menu items and you also get to pick how spicy you want your dish from 1-10.

This place has been on my bookmarks for awhile and I was finally able to check it off my list. I ordered the pik king mostly bc it came highly recommended & I love green beans! It was good but the most memorable part of my lunch was actually the chicken soup. I'm not sure what really set it apart from other chicken soups but it had a unique hint of onion'like depth. I really liked it more than other traditional chicken soups which are usually really salty broth. As to the main dish I think it was a lil small but not complaining bc it was $6. For those of you looking for spicy dishes you might want to clarify you like the heat. Their spicy scale is a little off in my opinion. My boss & I ordered a 5 in a 1-5 scale, 5 being the spiciest. Red peppers on a pizza have more heat. Nevertheless the pik king dish as a whole had a good flavor. I'll try this place again sometime soon so I can get a better grasp on why it's so highly recommended.

The Hawaiian Curry had great flavor, but my mouth is on fire and I asked for level 2. Will definitely come back, but will get less spice!

Convinced that spicy Thai soup would rid me of a cold, I went on a yelp hunt for good Thai in the area, and came across Bangkok spice. I ordered the giant Tom yum goong soup ($9.95) which was delicious. There were nice hints of lemon grass and kafir lime, with just the right amount of heat (I took 3 on a spice scale of 1 to 5). There were loads of mushrooms, too, which made me happy! I also had the spicy calamari salad ($7.95) which, at a number 3, seemed considerably spicier than the soup. It was nice spicy yet refreshing combination of carrots, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, mint and calamari. The calamari were slightly tough, but pretty good nonetheless. They deliver, but only a 3 mile radius. I'd definitely go back.

This place is a hidden gem... it's located inside the Stater Bros super market just down the street from my house, which is convenient for me. I've been to this establishment twice now and have been extremely satisfied both times. For a group of five, we ordered: 1) Tom Yum Goong (which tasted great, sour and a little bit sweet with shrimp, even my non-seafood friend enjoyed it) 2) Pad Thai with tofu (a classic Thai dish that tasted excellent, not too sweet and mixed in with a combination of veggies) 3) Chicken Satay (chicken with sweet peanut sauce and pickled veggies) 4) Pad See Ew with chicken (another classic noodle dish, with noodles cooked perfectly, generous pieces of chicken, and the flavor nicely blended) 5) Spicy bamboo with chicken (a little bit spicy, but just enough to give your taste buds a kick) 6) Cashew nut with chicken (again, a little spicy, but this dish goes perfectly with rice) 7) Fried banana with coconut ice-cream (banana was covered with batter and panko so it gave you that extra crunchy texture, and apparently, the coconut ice-cream was imported from Thailand) All of this, plus Thai ice tea for each one of us came out to be around $90, which is an excellent price for the amount and quality of food that we got. Love this place, so glad that I live near this place. Finally, what I really love about this place is how authentic everything tasted (well, as authentic as I can imagine)... it's a small, local restaurant run by a husband and wife team. The husband works the front of the house while the wife cooks all the dishes in the back. Her cooking is superb; everything tastes like home-made Thai food.. Anyway, the husband and wife always checks up on their guests at the end of the meal to make sure everything tasted great... they are just too cute and friendly. You can definitely tell that they make their Thai food with lots of patience and love. :o)

Food was Spicy! The owner was really nice. The Tom Kha Gai soup was pretty good. Tried 2 curries; yellow (1-spicy, mild) and Penang (3-spicy). Both were mildly sweet. I think the Penang curry at Palms Thai in Hollywood is better, but I enjoyed it. Owned by a really nice older Thai couple. I would go back to try other things on the menu.

The gentleman who took my phone order was very polite. And the food was incredible! It's been a while since we have eaten tasty authentic Thai food locally. We ordered Pepper Beef, Shrimp Pad Thai, Yellow Chicken Curry (level 5 spice), tom khum gai and calamari for to go. Wow! Yummy on all dishes!

  • Earl S.

Very good recipies, chef needs improvement. The rice and angel wings were dry, meats in the curry and soup not plentiful and a bit overcooked, potatoes both over and undercooked in the same dish. But the ingredients and arrangement of flavors was excellent. Service was good too. Bangkok Spice is only a short way from being a great hole-in-the-wall restaurant.

I can't say I'm an expert when it comes to thai food, but hell I still love eating the generic stuff. I used to drive to fullerton or rowland heights to get thai food but I was so stupid to not try this place out sooner, it was right down the street! From what I observed, this is a mom and pop shop. The husband always serves us when we dine in and was very nice to give us tour guide books to Thailand when my mother and I were talking about going to Vietnam and visiting Thailand on the way back. The wife is the cook and takes togo orders from me when I come in. Pad thai, Pad see ew, combination fried rice, and angel wings are what I usually order and it always hits and never misses. I know I should try out other items and I will when I get the time to stop by again. Prices are reasonable, the food is great, the service is warm and welcoming. Can't wait for my next thai food craving to kick in! My favorite thing to do is order some items togo, and take it to a drive-in movie theater to enjoy.

Food is good, Price is great! Service was Nice. (Should be 5 stars) Reason to deduct 1 star 1. lunch time gets busy, and owner doesn't hire anyone to help. basically it's a ONE MAN restaurant, so we will have to wait for 10+ mins just to order, and another 20+ mins to wait for our food to come out. (I don't recommend for people who have a short lunch break), I see many people walk away after sitting there for 15 mins, no one takes the order. 2. Secretly add $2 for brown rice and $3 for peanut sauce without letting us know ahead of time. My coworker asked for peanut sauce on the side, the owner said "Sure, no problem" end up charged us $3 for it. (no receipt for you to check unless you asked the man) I think they should hire one more person to become 5 stars. at least during BUSY HOURS.

Thai food at it's best! I was craving some thai food and remembered coming to this place a while back. I was hesitant to coming back because my first experience wasn't all that great. Boy, i'm sure glad i gave this place a second chance. The service here is amazing and my food tasted great! I also got this mango rice dessert that was just delicious! If you are in Yorba Linda, you should check out this place for sure!

Thanks to Yelp, we found this quaint place with excellent customer service! The paper placemats were actually origami flower so it kept us preoccupied for awhile. When the food came out, we still couldn't figure out how to pull out the petals and the server said she couldn't figure out, either, and showed us what she did, which didn't look like the pucture, either. :) We ordered everything at level 2 spicyness and so glad we didn't go any spicier! - Tom Kha Gai: Lots of lemongrass and coconut milk flavor! My favorite! 2 already has a nice kick to it so not sure how a 5 would taste like! - Yellow Curry: Delicious! The potato was a little crunchy, which was good. - Pad Thai: Yummy peanut flavor with chewy noodles. - Pad Kee Mow: Oh wow, super spicy but delicious! Most spiciest dish, made us sweat and blow our nose repeatedly. - Three Flavor Fish: Reminded me of sweet & sour. It would've been amazing if the skin was crispier. We will be back for more sweating and nose blowing experience!

I moved to Orange County 2 years ago, but I never had good Thai Food until I went to "Bangkok Spice Thai Cuisine" today. They offer super authentic Thai Food. In fact, in Tri City area, there are some other Thai Food Restaurants, yet none of them is either not really delicious or not owned by Thai People at all. (Many other Thai Food Restaurants are too much influenced by Western Taste... Some of them are not Thai Food at all...) "Bangkok Spice Thai Cuisine" is Genuine Thai Restaurant! I felt like I were in Thailand. : )) Hawaiian Rice is so tasty. It's very similar to one I ate in Phuket island, Thailand. I will definitely go back and try more different dishes with my friends. I wanted to give them 6 or 7 stars in rating... but unfortunately, 5 stars is maximum at Yelp : ))

Don't know what the big deal is at this place. It's a hole in the wall type of place, but to me, the flavor and taste lacked and didn't make up for it. We ordered chicken in both our noodle and meat plate, and for both, the chicken was way over done. The chicken tasted like it was one of those previously frozen, thin sliced chicken meat that fast food Chinese restaurants used. The only saving grace was the shrimp tom yum soup that we ordered. That actually had good flavors and the shrimp tasted fresh. Servers were pretty nice, but I have to say it they were pretty slow considering it wasn't that busy. Overall, it was worth trying, but doesn't look like I'll be coming back.

Curry with Love Sorry, someone else in the reviews mentioned love. Yup, they use it here to cook with. I am addicted to curry. So, I ordered curry. The menu sported many unique items including a "CoCo Shrimp." Instead, we ordered Red and Panang Curry dishes. ~3 Star Curry The curries were AOK. Not the best I have had. The red was a bit more soupy. The panang was chunk full of meat and veggies. I liked both. The rice is an extra charge. How do you eat curry without rice? ~Love, Care, and Potential ***Extra Bonus Star*** The owners talked to us about the food. The person who prepared our food even came out. These very nice people will fix your food the way you want. They ask what you like and dislike. If you become a regular here.. I am sure you will hit the jack pot with great Thai. The interior is pretty cool. The tables and decor are totally unique. I was impressed. Bonus.. this place delivers within a 3 mile radius. Bangkok Spice Thai Cuisine, Anaheim..Another reason the OC is the best place to live.

We went to Bangkok Spice based on the large number of reviews and very good reviews. The place was easy to find, in the middle of an l shaped strip mall. We ordered the Tom Yum Gai soup (w/chicken), which was very good and the right level of spice for what the waiter noted as a 2 of spice with respect to spice. We both ordered noodle dishes with tofu... one which was spicy and one which was on the sweeter side. Portions were appropriate to the $7.99 price....but the flavor was not as good as I expected given the reviews. I normally do not order tofu at Thai restaurants, so maybe this made a difference. The service was friendly and very timely. Overall, not a bad place...just did not meet my high expectations.

Great little Thai restaurant! Authentic flavor, great taste and very warm customer service. I recommend the pad see ew beef (flat noodle stir-fried w/eggs & brocolli), Tom kha Gai (chicken and coconut soup) and their Hawaiian curry with chicken...it's sweet and savory and even better if you order it spicy! Aaand they deliver!!! :D

Preface: I am not a Thai food expert, in fact this is only the 3rd Thai restaurant I have ever been to. HOWEVER, I do know flavor and am a careful, loving cook myself, so I think I have a right to have an opinion here. :) I love this adorable little place. Total "Mom & Pop Shop" vibe, down to the bathroom which you have to walk through the small, clean kitchen to get to. We usually come here for double dates or just for a Thai fix when we are craving friendly service and seriously delicious food. I have tried many items on the menu but the "Pad See Ew," which is a wide, flat noodle dish with veggies is absolutely mouthwatering. Seriously, if they are putting crack in this dish, I wouldn't be surprised... or pissed off. IT IS THAT GOOD. Savory, buttery, exotically spiced with just the right amount of egg holding the veggies and noodles together. Another mainstay for our group is the "Tom Kha Goong;" this is a rich coconut milk and lemongrass flavored soup filled with veggies and shrimp. This dish really exemplifies Thai food, for me. It so artfully combines sweet, savory and sour flavors into the most satisfying, comforting dining experience! We will be back, probably tomorrow. ...and also next week. :)

Hole in the wall type of place. Ordered the Papaya salad , Tom yung koong soup, and some beef dish. Food was okay for a local Thai restaurant nearby my house. Service here is excellent! The lady I believe the owner checked on us several times. Would come back again

Service was great and the main reason why I am writing this review. I am guessing our server was one of the owners. He was very attentive and polite. The food was good but not the best I have had in Thai fare. The combination fried rice was pretty good, not too greasy. Larb was lacking in flavor and just didn't have the kick I have experienced at other Thai establishments. The angel wings were good as well, again not too greasy and perfect for kids. I wouldn't recommend the egg flower soup. There just isn't anything exciting about this dish (little to no flavor). We didn't care for the white rice, it wasn't sticky and was on the dry side. Perhaps it was due to the fact that we came late and were served rice that was cooked earlier in the day. Overall it was an ok experience and I would probably come back mainly for the service and the fact that it is near to the house. The pricing was so so, I felt the portions were a little small.

This is one of the best Thai place I have been in a long time. I think they said they were under new management a few months back and OMG so happy they did because the food here is amazing. This place is run by a husband and wife team. The husband takes the order and serve while his wife cooks in the back...oh man can she cook...so good. Our office has order here many of times for lunch including catering for office parties. They have great deals and know how to please their customers. If it is NOT on the menu...don't worry they can still make it for you...that's how you know they are authentic and know their dishes! KHOB-KUN-KA!!!!

I'm a huge fan of this place. I probably come here at least once a month. It's a husband and wife team. The husband handles the front of the house and the wife does the cooking. You can taste the fresh ingredients and the care that they put into the food. The owners are so nice and they'll come talk to you. They really appreciate their repeat customers. The food is super authentic as the owners are from Thailand. You cannot go wrong with this place. Here are some of the staple items I've had (not necessarily all in one sitting): Yellow Curry: sweet, spicy, can really taste the coconut milk. Chunks of potato, meat and peppers. Pad Thai: C'mon, who doesn't love pad thai? Chicken, shrimp, yum. Noodle Supreme: wide, flat rice noodles, light gravy sauce, stir-fried, very good. Pineapple Fried Rice: a hint of curry, has raisins, pineapple, cashews. So delightful. Tom Kha Goong: Thinking of this makes my mouth water. Fresh lemongrass, lime, coconut milk. Thai Iced Tea: Not overly sweet, very refreshing. Beers: Chiang and Singha. Yay. They have lunch specials which are a good deal. I've mostly come here for dinner. Really, really small waitstaff so if all the tables are busy, don't let that deter you from coming back again.

Small Thai restaurant in a strip mall (is there any other kind?) serves up fresh food, with owners that provide good service and an interest in the diners' experience. Crispy calamari comes in small chunks, not really recognizable as calamari and was the least successful of the dishes. Salt helped but the breading didn't do much for the overall flavor. Pat thai with chicken brought the usual sweetened noodles, accompanied by a splash of carrot and purple cabbage, with crushed peanuts on the side. No lime? It's needed to balance the sweet Pad Thai flavor. Mussels were fat green-lipped and accompanied with a spicy dipping sauce.

Love coming here for the lunch special which is just 6 bucks and some change and always just the right amount of food. I always get the GREEN CURRY which is delicious!! and comes with rice, a soup or salad and an eggroll. This place is a must try!

Best Thai food I've ever had. Hands down. Their pad thai is absolutely scrumptious. I don't know what more to say about this place, except it's a total gem. The soups are delicious. The older owner gentleman is very friendly and attentive. Great place and unpretentious atmosphere.

Unlike many Thai Restaurants I stumble upon, Bangkok Spice is very clean, neat and well maintained restaurant. I've still yet to experience rude Thai waiters/waitresses. What seems to a appear as family owned, this friendly establishment offers great service and great food. As always I order Thai tea to see if their own recipe can top others. There are always different ways o make thai tea, and Bangkok's formula seems to work out for Anahiem locals. I ordered the Orange chicken, and unlike most ways to make orange chicken, their sauce is not heavy as others. It's a very light zesty taste, almost like a butter like coating for an easy transition for your taste buds to enjoy the food. The chicken, fried with not to much batter. As for the beef salad, I loved it. Don't be to intimated on the 1-5 scale of spiciness. I tried 5, i didn't even break a sweat.

Decent food but they barely put any meat in their fried rice or chow mein.

A SOLID quick Thai spot in the outlands of Yorba Linda & Anaheim. Fresh ingredients, excitable flavors, all nicely plated.

Have been to this restaurant for at least 4-5 times now. Each time the food quality, taste and amount is consistance. Food quality- shirmp and chicken is always tender and fresh Food taste- Panang curry, pad tai- there is enough spice and taste to bring out its Thai origin taste. But without using MSG or taste too spicy or salty. Food amount- I must say the food amount is the only down side, it is on the small side. Overall, this is a gem hidding in the YL/ Placentia area.

OK so I have to be the hurtful truth. I had a few recommendations for this place and looked it up on yelp and felt very confident in inviting some old friends to eat lunch here. This place is definitely run by mom and pop but it is nothing more than below average. We ordered chicken satay for appetizer that arrived lukewarm, lacking in flavor, and poor meat quality. The order of sweet and sour pork was of the same low meat quality. The red curry was not spicy, a bit too thin, and a tad salty. My friend ordered the pad thai. Although there was no complaint, there was no exclamation either. There was no Thai authenticity to any of the foods or flavors, which is both regrettable and sad given the high ratings on yelp. All in all, my experience fell very flat and did not rise to even mediocre.

I was craving for thai food and came across this place nearby. In my opinion it is just okay. Nothing special or amazing in my opinion. I just think it was a bit overpriced on certain items that we got because I have been to the Royal Thai one in garden grove and that place is a lot better.

I am a diehard fan of anything Thai and Bangkok Spice Thai Cuisine did not disappoint. Consulting yelp, I ordered the Green Curry Chicken with a side of brown rice and a Thai Ice Coffee. Everything was delicious. The curry was creamy, spicy and tangy and the thai ice coffee perfectly complimented it. As soon as I left, extremely full, I already wanted to plan my next visit. The man that was our server was extremely nice as well! Great hole in the wall.

I love thai food and this particular place always hits the spot. I am a huge fan of their Combination Fried Rice and Angel Wings. Upon being served the fried rice, your sense of smell and sight will be more than just satisfied. The shrimp and color of the whole dish looks delicious. Always cooked to perfection every single time I order it. Having tasted nearby thai restaurants, I have decided this one is my favorite due to their friendly workers, cleanliness and coziness of the place, portions and flavor of the food, and the convenience it is to get there.

I just recently moved into the area for work and I have been itching to find a great thai place to eat at near work/home and I have found it here. I ordered the fried tofu, steamed gyoza, and the yellow curry with brown rice and I was not disappointed by any of it! The curry was especially a highlight for me; All of the spices blended together so perfectly I felt like I was eating at my old go-to place. The staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, they made me feel right at home and went above and beyond to take care of me. I'm going back tonight to get more take out for myself and my date for our movie marathon! I would highly recommend this place for anyone in the area looking for some yummy thai food.

I took take out so I can't comment on service. I ordered take out by phone. My order was: Papaya Salad, pork larb, and green curry. To my surprise the owner called back and told me that the papaya that they had bought that morning was found to be too ripe when they cut it to prepare my salad. So they were going to take it off my order. I appreciated this courtesy, rather than trying to sell me a subpar product. Their green curry was EXCELLENT. I really liked the pork larb too, but I love green curry. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the mood for some Thai food.

I dropped by this place on the way to my friend's house because I was craving mango sticky rice. They had a $10 minimum, but the really nice lady let me use my card even though it was under $10. Even though it's something so small, she was super nice about it! The mango sticky rice was super good. I will be back to try their food.

Craving Tom Yum Goong and sorely disappointed that my local Thai place closed down, we went in search of a new place to call our own. Thank you, Yelpers. Based on proximity and your reviews, we stopped by Bangkok Spice some hot/sweet soup happiness. At first glance, even at last glance, this is a hole in the wall. It's located in an old, charmless strip mall with a Stater Brothers. However, when we walked in, it was simple and charming. The staff, obviously the mom & pop owners, made us feel immediately welcome. Apparently everyone felt welcome as the dining room was nearly full the entire time we were there. We ordered Tom Yum Goong, heat level 4. So tasty. Next time, 5. I like to sniffle, burn, simply cry with happiness when I eat Tom Yum Goong. Still, this was very good. For a salad, we had the Pla Goong. It is a green lettuce, shredded carrot, green onion, and shrimp salad with a light, tart, addicting dressing. This was a refreshing balance to the soup. Next came the Thai beef jerky. The sauce made this dish. It was good but I would pass next time for a different item. We finished with Panang Curry. This actually tasted home made. You could taste the love and care put into this curry. If I had a Thai grandma, she'd be making this for me at least once a week. I walked in crying about the loss of my old Thai restaurant. I enjoyed my meal, crying and sniffling contentedly over the heat-infused, flavorful food, and I left with tears of joy in the corners of my eyes. Thank you, Bangkok Spice for being there for me. My craving will not be denied again.

I came here yesterday for lunch with a few friends. We came promptly at the opening at 11am on a Monday. Here's what we ordered: Lunch Special - Pad Thai with chicken - Started off with a chicken vegetable soup - It was a nice clear brothy soup. Very simple. - Pad Thai was good. The serving was pretty generous and it was accompanied by fried wontons. Red Curry with Tofu - Pretty good curry. It's comparable to most Thai restaurants. The only odd thing was that the curry was served on a dish. Usually you get more sauce than substance. Perhaps i'm getting more bang for my buck by getting lots of tofu and veggies? -They asked us how spicy we wanted it on a scale of 1-5. We got a 4 however it tasted like a 1.5. I think they need to reconfigure their measurements. Pad See Ew with Tofu -Pretty good. Tastes great with their sweet and spicy hot sauce. -Lots of Broccoli. It seemed to miss the other veggies thats suppose to be in it. Overall, an average restaurant run by a sweet Thai husband and wife team. I'd come back if i wanted Thai food and i was in the area again.

I love this place!! When we first moved to this area, we decided to get take-out, but when we walked in the lady was so warm and welcoming we ate there instead. The lady (owner) is so nice and funny. She sat down with us and pointed out things good for the kids. The pad see euh is wonderful. Their yellow curry is amazing!! Not to mention the satay and peanut sauce and the drunken noodles... SO good!!! Family of 4 can eat for around $60.00. A little pricey which is why we can't eat there as often as we'd like. Great Thai food, support your local family owned restaurant!!!

Hmm I'm missing something here. First off, the people that run Bangkok Spice were real nice, and being friendly goes a long way. It sounds silly to say that, but there are many places that I walk into where you don't feel welcome. I can tell they really care about their customers here. Just in the few minutes I was sitting there waiting for my to go order, they were quick to start up conversation and asked if there was anything that they could get me while I waited. I'm sure if I ever dine in here I will get 5 star service that is genuine. That said, I wasn't overly impressed with the food. Certainly not at the 4.5 star rating that yelp has at the moment for Bangkok. The chicken satay appetizer tasted like it had no marinade and was just plain chicken on a stick. While it was thoroughly cooked, it didn't look like it was grilled. I'm sure it was but just not for very long. The peanut dipping sauce was full of flavor and not too spicy. The Tom Yum Goong soup was quite spicy, and I was happy with that. However it had a strange sweet taste to it as well, which I've never had before with that soup. It was almost a sweet and sour soup. Green Curry with Beef was just ok. Lots of curry with little in it. The beef was on the chewy side and disappointing. I also wish there were more bell peppers and zucchini. Something else that I found strange were the leaves used to add flavor to the curry dish weren't edible. I assume it was Kaffir Lime Leaf. Whatever it was It was like chewing on a bay leaf. I've had to avoid them in Tom Yum before, but never in a Green Curry and there were so many of them it turned the dish into a mine field. The Pad Woon Sen was very bland and was almost flavorless like they forgot the fish sauce. Usually it is served with tomatoes, but there weren't any in this stir fry. There was also a huge amount of cabbage in this dish compared to other veggies. I will say this, the chicken was very good quality for stir fry and the Pad Woon Sen wasn't greasy at all. But it was my least favorite dish of the night. For 9 years I've been searching for great Thai food since I moved to North OC. I hoped this would be my answer, but based on this one experience, it seems to be just another place. Sometime I'll give them another shot and order some dishes that specifically have all you Yelpers so excited.

Overpriced underperformer. Not even close to 4 stars. Everything on menu seems to be overpriced compare to other Thai restaurants, Egg roll for 5.95? Bow of soup for 5.50? Not to mention they charge you EXTRA 2.00 for steam rice! I have been to other Thai restaurants before and none of them charge you extra for rice. The curry is average at best, and the rice... well, I am asian, and I eat rice most of my life. The steam rice at this restaurant is one of the lower quality ones, there are better ones out there. I ordered Curry, a steam rice, and Thai ice tea. Total comes to nearly $14 dollars excluding tip. For that price I could get entire entree at other restaurants. Will not come back here again.

Walked in on a Wednesday, two tables occupied with families of 5 and 6. Service was ok, I mean don't come expecting DiRoNA style service, it's a mom, pop and daughter kind of place. The daughter, timid, as most Asians can be, poured my three Tsinga Beers different each time. 1st Time - poured half in the glass and left the rest in the bottle 2nd Time - poured the entire bottle into the glass 3rd Time - left the bottle on the table although there was room in the glass. So I dont know if she was flirting with me, intimidated by me or what, but I'm sure if I ordered a 4th beer, it would have been paraded out of the kitchen to the table, or something like that. Also had the spiced ice tea with half-n-half in it. Get the unsweetened version, its not too sweet. Appetizer of steamed gyoza. Good stuff, plain and simple and hot. Then moved on to the crispy fried calamari. Not bad, would have liked a little more creativity on the sauce but I'd order it again. From there we moved on to the papaya salad. Oh heaven. Honestly I couldnt tell where the papaya was but I'm sure it was in there somewhere. A wonderful salad that brings a little heat. I had mine served with 4 extra napkins cause I was sweating something awful, but that's just me. Next time I'm bringing a cool wet towel to lower the body temp, or, I could just order ANOTHER beer. THIS is where it got a little wierd or passionate. All of a sudden mama (the cook) came out of the kitchen to tell the table across from us that she didn't want to make a certain dish because she had to ad-hoc it to make it and they should choose another dish. Ok, you can look at it two ways: 1) she shows such pride and care for her cuisine that she politely said please choose something else, or 2) she wasnt prepared. I opt for nr. 1. Because you are what you eat, I stayed away from the Prik King, or was it King Prik?, but opted for the garlic and pepper pork. Good choice as this didnt make me break out into a heated sweat again that would have honestly left a puddle on the floor around my chair. Wheeewwww...... The other side of the table had the three flavor fish. A nice dish, would have been better served with the entire fish - which is an option. Along with this came steamed Jasmine rice. We downed everything. It was good, heat flashes/sweates and all. The beer helped to cool it down but I tell you, for a while there I was drowning. Would I go back? I'd be a fool not to. The owners care about what they put out, its authentic enough, and if you leave here hungry, its gonna be your own damn fault. All this food for 2 - no dessert was $63.00 including tip. Oh I'll be back again soon, next time with a bath towel to keep my face from sweating off!!!

Found this place after making a wrong turn while shopping. My favorite way to find a new restaurant. Mom and pop joint. Both mom and pop were very friendly, so I wanted to like it, but the food was just average. Maybe someone was having a bad day in the kitchen? It happens. I always prefer family owned restaurants like this one, so hopefully they can get their quality (or consistency) up.

If I could live in this kitchen I would!!!! While in town on business the Yelp monocle led me here for dinner. I'm oh so glad it did! I walked in to find a relatively empty restaurant. That made me wonder a bit. But those doubts were quickly removed. The gentleman who greeted me at the door was also my server and was such a nice man. His genuine kindness really showed through. I greeted him in Thai and received a huge smile from him as well as a response. Stir fried cashews, sticky rice, and a Singha stood out to me on the menu. I ordered and informed my host that I would like my dish to be aggressively spiced. He nodded then asked if I would like the traditional Thai sauce of chopped Thai chili mixed with fish sauce. I was very glad this was offered, as more often then not, it's not an option. But you'll find it in most every Thai home. My food came out FAST! Now let me tell you, the very first bite made me pause. The flavors and smells sent me directly back to my time in Thailand. I was speechless. When the gentleman came to ask if I was pleased with my dish I simply thanked him for making my day. There is not a single complaint, criticism, or any other negative thing to mention. Service that was beyond reproach. Food that is as good as any Thai restaurant I've eaten in, ever. And the owners, who are also the servers, are so friendly that you can't help but smile and enjoy the time you're there talking to them. I will return to this eatery EVERY time I get within 50 miles of it.

THE Best thai restaurant ive been to. Everything we ordered was delicious and tasted so fresh. i love that the pad thai and other noodles dishes didnt taste like sugar. many thai places ive been to add way too much sugar, i guess to hide the lacking of fresh ingredients. we spoke to the owner/chef and she loves what shes doing. She cooks everything her self with passion and integrity. The authenticity of the food was just stunning. for a description of what we ordered, take a look at the review posted by Cassy H. She is one of the friends i went with and has a helpful review as well. Enjoy!

I wish I could give this place 6.9 stars for how good it is, and the way it made love to my taste buds! But, thats not an option on Yelp for some odd reason! I wish I didnt take my girlfriend with me here, because I would have an affair with Bangkok Spice on her ;) Its that f*cking great! So we both love Thai and we wanted to try the best thai food rated on Yelp. All I can say is that its great great food! and inexpensive! We had: Papaya Salad Chicken Satay Pad Thai Yellow Curry We didn't go outside the box when ordering, but next time we will! It was so delicious, hands down the best curry I've ever tasted! WE'LL BE REGULARS FROM HERE ON OUT, ITS WORTH THE 25 MILE DRIVE!

Yum yum yum!! Or was it Tom Yum Gai? Either way, uber delicious. Fellow yelpers did not lie, this is a tiny gem in Anaheim - a small mom and pop restaurant that seats approximately 30 people. The best part is that the lady owner makes all the food that is served! We ordered: Tom Yum Gai - spicy chicken lemongrass soup that had just the right amount of spice and tangy-ness that lingers on your tongue. I had two helpings because it was just that good. Pad Kra Pao with beef - generous helping of sliced beef with peppers, onion, and fresh basil. Every slice had enough flavor where it wasn't necessary to eat a mouthful of rice because it was so spicy/salty. I'm not big on heavy flavors...and this was perfection. Red curry with chicken - This was my favorite of the evening. Coconut-y, smooth, creamy, and flavorful with tender pieces of chicken, zucchini, bamboo, onions, and basil. If I had been hungrier, I probably would have eaten the entire bowl of rice soaked in this curry. I'm sure it would've made wonderful leftovers! Btw, everything we ordered had a spiciness of 2 out of 5. Funny story: We couldn't decide which curry to get, so I asked the owner which was his favorite - yellow, red, or green. He said, if you don't like spicy, then go for yellow. His favorite are the red and green because there's a lot of flavor and you can control the hotness of it. His wife in the back overheard and yelled "Red is better!!" We ordered the red and did not regret it. Conclusion: I'll go back to this place. In fact, I'll drive to this place even if I'm not in the area the next time I'm craving Thai food.

HEARTY HOLE IN A WALL DELICIOUS THAI FOOD!!! Yesterday was my birthday, and so wify suggested Bangkok Spice Thai fer my b-day dinner. We had 5 people in the party. All dishes came out fast with really courteous services and constant attention. We knew the owners, they are an old Thai couple with many years of restaurant experience. Their crab fried rice was my favorite! It went really well with the green curry sauce, really good! We also ordered garlic ginger with tofu, glass noodle with chicken, both were hit also. Afterward we had a hearty chat with the owners, they were so nice, they gave us a cool plate of deep-fried plantain (banana desert) with honey sauce on the house. We all walked away satisfied. Anyhow, I had a great B-Day dinner there.....:D I would say people in the vicinity to skip Thai Basil, cuz this place is WAY BETTER!!!

I was craving a Green Papaya Salad after probably watching some food show and as I checked through my Yelp app for a Thai Restaurant, Bangkok Spice came up. I called to make sure that they served the salad and I was told yes and to come on over. I dragged my husband to satisfy my craving, and the restaurant was empty which I thought was great because the service would be fast. Oh boy I was soooooooooo wrong! We were seated quickly, given our menus and waited and waited. Another party came in after us and they were seated and give their menus but for some reason the waiter approached them for their order first. O.k whatever , we are next since we are ready to go. Nope , completely forgotten and we were not stuck in a dark corner. I could tell that having more than two tables seated and two people waiting for their to-go orders was too much for this restaurant to handle. We walked out and headed to our old standby , the Noodle House on Rose Drive in Placentia.

This is seriously one of the BEST Thai restaurants around! My husband and I call it our everyday Thai restaurant and tease Jimmy (the owner) and tell her we are coming into "our kitchen" for dinner. We are extreme Thai snobs and you won't get better, more consistent Thai Food than here. If you want good, home cooked Thai that is full of flavor this is the place to come. The Pad See Ew is awesome, the yellow curry is wonderful, the veggie fried rice is the bomb! We are vegetarian so everything with Tofu for us. I am sure the meat dishes are just as amazing! It's a comfortable, no frills place where we can come in flip flops and jeans and feel right at home. The only thing we might even consider to be a concern is the price of adding broccoli or any other veggies makes the price of the entree a bit high, that's a bit tough for us since we are veggie's but we deal with it. If you haven't tried Bangkok Spice, get in your car right now and drive over. You'll be so glad you did!

Some might say, good Thai food in Anaheim Hills? When pigs fly! Well, you better start looking for those winged porkers in the sky. Simply put, this place is legit. I always get the beef panang there. Tons of meat, generous portions, tasty curry! The owners there are very nice and the food is always fresh. Haven't dined in as of yet, always did take out. Dining area is a little small, but quaint. If you're craving Thai food and are in the area, check it out. You won't be disappointed

After seeing people's review on Yelp, my family and I thought we would try it. We walked in on a Saturday around 2 in the afternoon. We were greeted with a warm welcome. We asked for some suggestions since this was our first time there. My kids had the won-ton soup which was delicious. My wife had a green curry dish which was outstanding. I had a spicy seafood dish that was very good. In all, we enjoyed the service, and food. Everyone that worked there made us feel right at home. I recommend this place for you will not be disappointed. It is tiny so I could see on busy days there might be a wait. In that case, I recommend take out or delivery. We will be back soon for we found a great place at a good price.

My wife and I have been here twice now and both times the food was amazing. We talked to the owner and got to know her. This is an authentic home-style Thai restaurant. If you really want to taste how Thai food should be prepared, then this is the place, the prices are reasonable and the food, EXCELLENT!! You simply MUST try this place, you will fall in love with it and keep coming back again and again!

Best Thai food in the area. When we moved to Yorba Linda we unsuccessfully tried over eight other places before finding this hidden gem. The food is smashing. The service is kind and prompt. It's not a fancy night or afternoon out, but the food makes up for what it lacks in aesthetic value. We order out from here at least once a month. Try the green curry or the praram beef.

Nothing about the exterior of this place would lead you to believe the food is a so good. It looks like every other thai place. I found Bangkok Spice on Yelp beacuse I'm over Thai Basil and Thai Rama in Fullerton. We had gyoza which was delicious, 2 orders actually and I shared a plate of ginger pan fried shrimp and veggies which tasted so fresh with my sister. My bf had some sort of shrimp bacon broccoli dish, I know these aren't very traditional but the menu offers all the well known dishes also. My only complaint is that you have to pay $3 per bowl of rice. It's good size but I don't understand the charge.

Delicious food and lovely people. I always feel well taken care of here and their food is totally LEGIT. I live in LA, we've got a district called Thai Town. There, the best of the best and all the imitators open shop and you quickly learn the difference between the good and the bad. This place could open there and still give their neighbors a run for their money. Instead, they are safely hidden in good old Yorba Linda, letting some of those behind the Orange Curtain experience some authentically Thai food.

I've eaten here several times and I love the owners as much as the food. I usually get my food to go and take it home and pig out. I have the menu in my car, call them in traffic then pick it up once I'm off the freeway. I love the Chicken Pad See Ew it's my all time fav noodle dish and I drench it in Siracha chili sauce. But, I also get the pineapple fried rice, chicken wontons and sometimes the drunken noodles. The only thing I got here that I wasn't crazy about was the lunch curry special. I really love the food and the good warm service.

Small but MIGHTY! This small "hole in the wall" is a fantastic place for lunch or dinner. I started coming here about a year ago. The staff are very friendly...makes me feel like I'm eating at home because they are so nice. I've tried nearly everything on the menu. Certainly the usual suspects are my favorites. Pad Thai, Pad Kra Pao...but special requests not on the menu, (if they are available)...Fried banana with honey a favorite for desert!! But really, its ALL good! Enjoy! GREAT!!

Delicious! But huge huge warning, certain maps say this place is on the corner of Orangethorpe and Lakeview, its actually on Orangethorpe and Kellogg! The place is very small and cozy, and like the other review says, the bathroom is clean, haha. Our group of 6 ordered: Pad thai, pad-see-ew, tom yum gai, panang curry, and chicken satay. You can't go wrong with any of these plates. Especially the tom yum kai- I helped myself to a spoonful and I had goosebumps. Sour, but sweet, flavorful and fresh tasting. My personal favorite was the panang curry- the beef was incredibly tender and it gave just the right amount of spicy kick to our meal (we requested 2 out of 5 spicy). We'll return soon, we live 30 min away so its a no brainer for us. Not sure for you foodies living far from the Anaheim/Yorba Linda area.

Yummy Yummy Thai food for my Tummy!!! Consistently Awesome Thai but not consistent with the spicy factor. They will ask you how spicy... 1-5? I could say 3 and it feels like a 1 and other days a 2 can feel like a 4. Another yelper would probably take a star or two off but I just love it too much.

So last nights pregnancy craving was Thai food! So of course I came to yelp to look for something really good! Bangkok spice Thai is what came up, so off we went! I live in Garden Grove so this was quite the little drive for Thai food, but it had to be done for the sake of the appetite! Cute little hole in the wall with very friendly service. It was a Saturday night at 7pm and there were about 3 tables open! No wait! We ordered the pad Thai, panang curry and Thai sweet and spicy beef. (note: for dinner you have to order the rice separate! How can you have curry with no rice?!?! I thought this was odd, this would have otherwise been a 5 star review)Everything came out great! All the flavors were there. The pad Thai was not too sweet or oily (as i have experienced many times before). Panang was excellent and one of the best I have had. Sweet and spicy beef was ok and had lots of veggies. Overall was a great experience and will definitely come back again. I will come back for lunch next time as they serve with rice, salad and an egg roll for less them the dinner price!

This restaurant is a Yelper's (and a foodie's) dream! It's local, hidden, simple, and does its food extremely well! Where to begin. Well I just stumbled upon this restaurant, driving down the street in a remote section of Anaheim and saw a meager strip mall/plaza with a humble sign saying Thai food. It was easy to miss, but I thought, why not grab some Thai food. So my friends and I flipped the car back around and headed in. The restaurant was small, but clean and nicely decorated (especially considering the nondescript plaza it's in). For a Saturday night, there weren't many people there (only one other group of ~7 people). We ordered our food and were soon greeted by familiar dishes that tasted better than I ever remember them: Pad Thai (w/ Pork) - the ever-present Thai dish. Here, it looks just like any pad thai, with red cabbage and bean sprouts to mix into the noodles. It tasted simple and just right. Not overly sweet at all like other Thai restaurants do it. Yellow Curry (w/ Chicken) - Not too spicy, not too sweet, not too salty! Just the perfect blend of flavor to tickle your tongue. And I want to emphasize the blend - the flavors worked so well together, it was truly harmonious. Pad See Ew (w/ Beef) - One of my favorite Thai dishes. I've had some good pad see ew and some I'd rather forget. Bangkok Spice's PSE is one that I hope to remember for a long time! The noodles were just right, the broccoli wasn't too hard nor too soft, and the sweet saltiness complemented the entire dish. What was most amazing about all the food is that at first glance, it looks exactly like the food you'd get at any other Thai restaurant. And you don't realize how good the food actually is until you're already devouring it! Most dishes were $7.95-8.95. Perfectly reasonable. If you're not sure what to get, or what type of meat to select for your dish, just ask! They know what's best. There's beer, I believe, but I stuck with Thai iced tea, which was on the same level of other Thai iced teas that I've had. What really put this place over the top for me are the owners - a husband and wife, they had time to come talk to us after our meal and ask how everything was. She told us that she cooked all the food herself - they don't have any hired cooks, because they want to make sure that everything is cooked just right. Now THAT is quality! And that is the definition of cooking your food with LOVE! Food cooked with love. And I think I'm in love with this charming gem of a find in Northeast Anaheim!

Usually when you show up at a spot right before they close to get some take out you wonder if you will be eating some left overs. The waiter which seemed to be the owner welcomed me open handily. I got the green curry and the brown rice and I must say it was VERY good. The decor isn't anything special it's a mom and pop spot so I wasn't expecting much anyway. This is by far the best hole in the wall for some thai food in yorba linda. I usually write reviews for family owned business if they do their job and deliver great tasting food with stellar service right away. If you go here and enjoy it you should do the same. When i asked him how long you've been here he said 2 years but recently it started to pick up alot because of the Yelp reviews. It's amazing to see how powerful yelp really is.

This place is small and homey. I had the absolute best tasting pad thai ever!! I loved it, the noodles were slightly harder than what I expected but the flavor was DELICIOUS!! The tea was given in a cute little tea pot and cup. The service was very attentive and nice, it's a couple that helped us and they were very helpful! I'm craving their pad thai again!! I also want to try their curry because they taste like authentic thai food!!

Was craving curry for lunch and decided to come on yelp and find a thai restaurant with good yellow curry reviews. After reading the good reviews for bangkok's yellow curry I decided to give this place a try. LOCATION: The shopping center where the restaurant is located isnt the best looking (just the fact that there is a stater brothers can pretty much sum up the overall "look" of the center) but once I walked in bangkok spice I was pleasantly surprised by how nice and clean it looked. FOOD: I ordered the yellow curry lunch special to go which is a steal for $6.95 and includes steamed rice, side salad and egg rolls. The only down side was that they have a minimum charge of $10 if you pay with credit card :( so make sure to bring cash if your solo. The yellow curry was definately delicious and it might be the best I've tasted, not too thick not too thin, not too spicy but just enough kick and very creamy tasting.. also liked how they put the actual curry in a small closed container inside the to-go box with the sides, that way there was no posible leaked curry in my car :) I would hesitate to dine in as I noticed there is only one waiter and she was also the same lady that took my order and rung me up...she was an older lady and a couple of customers really had to go out of their way to get her attention.. But overall great yellow curry and great price :)

Official Service! I live out in Fullerton, but drove all the way out here because of the Yelp reviews. First off, I think this place has one of the cleanest restrooms for an Asian restraunt. That really is a diamond in the rough. Second, the service was spectacular. The server/owner was on top of everything and made my fiance and I feel like guest at there home. In regards to the food, the pad see ew was good, the prinking was not bad and we had the garlic pepper chicken, which was okay. Overall i give this place a 3 stars for the food, but the service uped my ante to a 4. I highly recommend this place if your in the area.

I Love this place it's a small hole in the wall, nothing fancy but it hides some delicious Thai food. I had the red curry and the Tum Yum Soup. It was amazing! The server was very nice and patient as I asked him questions about the different currys and noodles they had.The food was brought out in a decent amount of time and they bring you so much food it can easily serve two. The prices are decent because you have left overs for days and it's still amazing the second day. this is one of my favorite places to get my Thai food fix. I recommend it to any Thai food lover.

Came in for dinner the other night. I had bookmarked this place as a place to try and its been taunting me for some time now..glad we finally decided to come try it. Wasn't sure what to get but ended up making some pretty great choices. The girlfriend ordered the Papaya Salad which she liked (didn't have any..no meat no eat). I ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice which I asked them to throw in some spice and they made it just perfect for me. Flavor was spot on and the pineapple chunks in it were so sweet and juicy. We also wanted to try the Yellow Curry which was IMO the best dish we got. You can taste the coconut milk but it wasn't too over powering which added a sweet taste to it. This was especially great over my fried rice! Our server seemed like he was gonna suck at first but he turned out to be quite nice and friendly. Made sure we had water in our glasses to help wash down the spicy food :] We will be back soon to try more! Note: Closed Sundays

Ate here w/ a friend after reading the great yelp reviews. I ordered the Green Curry w/ 3 level spiciness and it was really really good. I tried the Thai Ice Coffee, it was ok. We also ordered the Chicken Satay and it was ok as well. Out of the things I tried, I really loved the green curry and would really recommend that to anyone who likes curry & spice. The service was good, the husband / wife team were really cute. My only critique: portions were a little small for the price. I would definitely come back here because their green curry was so good.

This was a delightfully fresh tasting lunch. We had the Gyoza, Aspargus Shrimp, Pan-fried Ginger Chicken, and Garlic pepper Chicken. All the dishes were served in reasonable but not overwhelming portions. Freshly cooked and delicious. Really enjoyed the Aspargus Shrimp, Gyoza, and the Thai Iced Tea...yum! :)

Authentic Thai Food operated by a charming Thai couple that sincerely cares about the quality and flavor of their dishes. I love supporting family businesses and when they take pride in what they do it shows in their service. Great Thai food here- give it a try!!

Great food! I rarely give a 5, so don't read into the 4 stars to much. Brought my 4 year old, he loved the chicken chow main and chiceb satee. I got the Tom Kai Gai soup, got the hottest, a 5, really good! Also got the yellow chicken curry, again a 5, good stuff!

I recently moved to the area and have longed to find good Thai food. Based on reviews, I tried Supatra first and was horribly disappointed. I stumbled upon Spice Thai one day, and was pleasantly surprised with the chicken pad thai. It was flavorful, and not too greasy. The restaurant inside was dark and didn't feel very inviting or clean. I definitely wouldn't go there to eat, but recommend the takeout.

I'm glad I came here for lunch, it's really good and nicely priced. Really friendly folks working here and the food was delicious. I got the Pad Prik and Yellow Curry, both were delicious. I don't know what it is exactly but tasted much, much better than the Thai food I've had at other restaurants.

If you're looking for Authentic Thai food, look no more. If I really liked Authentic Thai food, I'd give it an 5 stars, but for some reason I love Thai with a tiny American touch to it. The Husband and wife who own are so incredibly cute and sweet, it made the experience great. I ordered Som Tum, Pad Kra Pow, and Larb at spicy level two. Dang, so happy I didn't order the spice level any higher! Very delicious though. :) Very good service, no wait at 3PM, and overall a great experience. Keep it up!

Loved this place! Don't be fooled by the strip mall location across from the railroad tracks. Walk through the door and it feels clean and comfortable with little touches of Thai decor. Good food and friendly service in a local little family run restaurant. Yummy Tom Kha Gai and delicious Pad Kee Mow. We also ordered garlic and pepper beef and fried tofu. I'd probably skip the fried tofu next time. But everything else was super good. Glad to have found this little gem!

Went here for the first time today. They were really nice and quick. We had 3 items: - Tom Yum Goong: very good! the flavors were great - Angel Wings: also really good. super crunchy. - Spicy Beef Salad: the flavor was good and the salad was fresh and crisp but the beef was not so good, kinda tough. I will definitely be back to try more things tho.

Stingy portions make the price a bit high for what you get. We ordered the beef and broccoli, chicken Thai fried rice, and pad kee mao. All were pretty mediocre. The beef and chicken in each dish were small dry pieces. The noodles in the pad kee mao were broken, stuck together, and overcooked. Also, the restaurant had their ac off and it was a bit stuffy.

After going to a different Thai restaurant in Fountain Valley the night before where the food and service were awful, this place was like a breath of fresh air. We ordered Tom Kha Gai and it was by far the best I have ever had. The pad thai was great too. The owner was very congenial, everything was just fantastic. I could not have asked for better. Small little place but excellent.

Overall better than the other thai places in the YL area, in my opinion. Tastier and more flavorful along with friendly service. Had the staples: pad thai with chicken, panang curry, and a beef dish and all came out well. Only a couple of gripes, which were it took longer than it should have to get our order taken, and the portion sizes of the dishes were a little bit on the small side. But would definitely come back for more.

I came here with my friend the other day to check this place out. We both ordered the lunch special; my friend got the spicy bamboo, and I got the spicy basil. I'll be very brief. This was barely passable for Thai food. The dishes we ate had only the slimmest notion of Thai flavors, and that's it. There was no depth to the dishes at all; the operating word is thin. Service was decent, but when the food is sub-par no amount of service can salvage the experience. I gave two stars only because the dishes still had trace amounts of Thai flavors, but only just. This is the type of westernized Thai restaurants reserved only for the desperate. Avoid it otherwise.

This is the first time we have tried Bangkok Spice. It is just down the street but is somewhat plain so I guess we always passed it by. Thanks to all the great reviews on Yelp, we decided to try it...bonus, they deliver!! A BIG plus for a busy Friday night. The food was here within 20 minutes and it was hot! We went pretty traditional with out meal; Pad Thai, Yellow Curry (spiciness level 2 but my hubby and son want 3 next time) Fried Rice w/ chicken, Cashew Chicken and Thai Beef Jerky. The latter came with this amazing chill sauce of deliciousness that was used up all too soon. The curry was a creamy, coconutty dream with chicken and small flakes of chill...so wonderful. The Pad Thai has crushed peanuts to infuse the whole dish with peanut-butter goodness! We will definitely be back! Is tomorrow for lunch too soon??

So...My friend and I were in the mood for some Thai Food, so I went on my iphone and yelped the closest restaurant to us. I came across Bangkok Spice Thai Cuisine and I saw that they didn't have many reviews but I saw that they got 5 stars. So we decided we should give this place a try. We got there and the atmosphere was very homey. There was just another table there but they were regulars from their conversation with the owner. The owner was quite friendly and very sweet. I was hungry so everything on the menu looks so great. So we ended up getting A LOT of food. We started with the fried tofu and it was so good, the sauce was sweet and went well with the tofu. Then we had the Wonton Soup and that was delicious. It had so much flavor but was not over powering and came in a fire heated pot. It was a very big portion for the price. A must have. I'm a big fan of Nam Sod, a traditional Thai dish, and found it on the menu and had to have it. OMG...it was so good and delicious. They had levels of spice from 1 to 5 so I decided to get it at a 3...it was spicy but so good. Then we had the spicy seafood fried rice...all I have to say is OMG....yummmmm... there were mussels, crab in the shell still, squid, and they had forgotten shrimp on it, so the owner took the place back and added shrimp for us. She said she didn't want to cheat us out of our seafood. She was so sweet and we didn't even notice because we were too busy stuffing our faces with everything else. The last dish we had was the Thai Sweet and Sour beef...we wanted something sweet since everything else had some spice to it. It was amazing....it wasn't too sweet and we ended up eating almost all of it. I saw that they had the sweet sticky rice with mango which I always have to have when I go to a Thai restaurant. I couldn't eat anymore so I ended up getting it togo. So overall, this place is very authentic and the owner and her husband were very sweet and their service was amazing. I will definitely be making my way back with the family since there isn't very many authentic places like Bangkok Spice Thai Cuisine anymore. You have to make your way in.

This Thai restaurant is right by my parents' house, and the people that work here are so nice that I want to give them more stars, but I just don't like their food all that much. I feel like where they're lacking in flavor, they just add salt. The pork jerky is always hard, never tender, never juicy, and the sauce they serve it with has no freshness; it tastes like fish sauce with chili flakes and more salt. The prik king is usually mushy, while the angel wings and other fried foods feel too saturated in oil. The curry, however, is delicious, as is their pad see ew with chinese broccoli. I suppose I just have a different taste preference than the chef and owners. Try it out, though, because the service is great, and they have a few dishes that are absolute gems.

I'm astounded that this place has an above average rating. The experience I had with this place over the weekend was so awful that I feel compelled to share it on here. This is a perfect example of a very simple issue being blown out of proportion by an unreasonable business owner. We and I were impressed by the Yelp reviews, so we decided to order delivery. A fairly typical order, we wanted spicy shrimp, flat noodles and gyoza. I specifically told the woman on the phone that I wanted gyoza, and know that to be the case, as the entire reason for my order was because we wanted gyoza. They didn't do delivery unless you ordered $25 so I got a thai iced coffee as well. The food was delivered about 30 minutes later, and we opened it up, very hungry. To our dismay, instead of gyoza being in the order, we got instead an order of crispy wontons. we were really disappointed because we'd been craving gyoza all day, and that was the entire reason we had ordered thai food in the first place. I called back immediately and spoke with the woman (presumably the owner) over the phone to tell her about the mistake. She began berating me and telling me that it was my fault and that I didn't order gyoza and that they got the order right. I had to argue with her for five minutes before she would acknowledge that perhaps I was right and she wrote down the wrong order. Even still, she told me that I would have to come down and pick it up myself, and pay extra for the gyoza because they were $1 more than the crispy wontons. I protested again, and after another five minutes, she finally agreed to have the driver come back with the correct order and swap it. She told me that it would be about 20 minutes because the driver had to finish his route. Because we thought that the driver would be returning and didn't want our food to get cold while we waited for 20 minutes, we continued eating the rest of our food (which was not particularly good). The shrimp were not properly cleaned, with excrement remaining in them, and the tails were still all on making for a messy experience. Noodles were bland and overcooked and greasy, I could go on. Ten minutes later, and about a quarter of the way through our meal, I received a call from the owner again. She told me that her driver had returned and refused to come back to drop off the gyoza we had ordered because he wasn;t going to get another tip. I told her that wasn't my problem, and that as a business owner, she should pay him to come down and correct her mistake. She got into a huge fight with me over the phone about it, yelling at me and calling me a liar, and returning to her original stance that I had ordered the wrong food and was probably just trying to get free food from her (accusing me of stealing). I told her that I refused to stand for such accusations, and that I was a first time customer of her establishment who had just moved to the area and that her absurd behavior was causing her to lose a potential lifelong customer. I told her that I wanted a full refund for all of the food and that I was coming down there to give back the food that I ordered, because I was so upset by her behavior that I did not want to give her the benefit of my business. She agreed to give me a refund so long as I returned with the food. I promptly got into he car with the remaining 3/4 of my meal, which had only been partially eaten due to her representations that our order would be corrected. I drove back to the restaurant, food in hand, and walked up to the register for my refund. The owner looked most displeased, and immediately opened up the food to inspect whether I had brought it all back as I told her I would. She noted that some of the food had been eaten and began screaming at me, in front of the customers in her dining room, and accused me of "trying to steal free food from her." I calmly tried to explain the situation to her, and that all she had to do in the first place to avoid all of this was to acknowledge that she made a mistake with my order and offer to correct it. She continued screaming at me, calling me a thief in front of everyone, and told me I wasn't welcome at her restaurant again. Fine by me, her food wasn't even any good, and the prices were high for the small portion size of what we received. It was incredibly unreasonable for her to yell at me that way, and it was even more unreasonable for her to blame me for eating some of my food when I thought the rest was on the way. I was finally able to get my refund, but only after I threatened to file a charge back with the credit card company and inform them of her unreasonable behavior. I would give this restaurant zero stars if I could. Their food was blah, their prices were higher than they should have been, and most importantly, the customer service I received was perhaps the worst in my life, like something out of a movie. Unbelievable! Stay Away!

So I was craving some Thai food and did not find anything decent in the Anaheim Hills area so I googled it and Yelp led me to Bangkok Spice. I took a chance and ordered some takeout, the spicey fried rice with tofu, panang curry with chicken, and pad thai with shrimp. When I arrived around 6:15pm, I was a little surprised because the place was empty, there was only one table with customers. My food was ready to go and the person helping me was very friendly. Once I got home, everyone was pleasantly surprised at the flavor in all the dishes. I love fried rice and my favorite curry is panang curry, both were very tasty! I have gone back there for takeout a few more times and even brought my co-workers there for a team lunch. The only issue I have had with them was when we went there for lunch, at first the service was great but the place was not very crowded. However, there seemed to be a late lunch rush and only one server so she got a little overwhelmed. Regardless, everyone loved their food (great lunch specials!) and the server was trying her best so I won't knock them to much for that. I hope they stay in business because they are the best Thai food in the area!

a great little hole-in-the-wall by the stater brothers, bangkok spice is a nice family restaurant with pictures of the king and queen on the wall. the prices are reasonable and the thai iced tea is flavorful and authentic. the tom kha gai is amazing! but beware the spice level; nothing beyond a 3 could be enjoyable in quantity. be sure to order the larger pot to share as it is served in a hot pot with sparking coals which becomes a show at your table. they close a little early, so be on the lookout.

Great portions which makes the food perfect for sharing. Decent curry, good but not exceptional pad kee mow and pad thai. However the price portion ratio is great here and the service is good as well. Also, don't order the thai beef jerky, it is pricey and disappointing.

I get the pad thai for take out and it's good every time. Even my picky little bro (who gets hamburgers with ketchup only) just jumped on the pad thai train! Stay away from that other place on imperial and kraemer. You must trust me.

Had a craving for Thai and hadn't really located a solid place in my area...until now! Yelpers rated this highly so hubby and I decided to check it out for lunch today. It wasn't crowded at all and I was a bit surprised, it being 12:30 on a weekday. The owners were very sweet and nice - service was quick - and the food was fresh and tasty. Lunch specials were delicious (I had the spicy bamboo shoots at a 3 out of 5 spiciness - perfect - and hubby had the yellow curry) but we were glad we ordered a separate order of Pad See Ew chicken because the portions were a bit small. The only reason this doesn't get five stars from me was the small lunch special portions and less than stellar ambiance. BUT, I will definitely be back!

This place checks out in a big way! There are a fair amount of Thai options in the area, which I have tried and this is hands down the best tasting, most authentic Thai restaurant in the area. Price is fair for the amount of food you get. Will def return for more!

Previously I gave this place 5 stars when I took my family there. We were a party of 5, so the gratuity was included in the bill, therefore we did not feel the need to add an extra tip. Once our credit card bill came, we found that they added another $3 to the tip themselves. THIS IS COMPLETELY NOT ACCEPTABLE AND WILL NEVER RETURN BECAUSE OF THIS.

I am not a big Thai foodie fanatic, but this place was tasty. Everything I ordered was very delicious and the service was pretty good. There seemed to be only the husband and wife team working the time I went, but the service was still decent. The place is pretty small, but is a nice typical Thai decorated place. it was not terribly tacky like the many other Thai places i have been to. The chicken in my soup was a little dry, which made me kinda sad, but the soup broth was good. This place would have been an easy 5 star if the meat wasn't a little dry...I hate dry meats...suspicious. Anyway, a decent Thai place in Anaheim is a good find to me.

My girlfriends and I like to try new places for lunch, and we stumbled across this little gem last Friday. I have to admit I wasn't expecting much, but I was very pleasantly surprised! We all ordered off the lunch menu ($6.95)...you can order either soup or salad, your entree, a scoop of white rice and a little veggie eggroll. I am by no means a Thai food expert, but everything was fresh and tasted great. I will definitely be returning!

Very quaint little place. The curry is very tasty! At little bit of heat and a touch if sweetness. The pad thai was not bad too, though I think I would have liked a touch less sweetness in the dish. I m planning a return visit to try the pad se uew!

When I first walked in, I was a little apprehensive because of its location and size, but after being welcomed by the very friendly owner I knew this place would be good. We ordered the Cashew Tofu, Green Curry and Hawaiian Fried Rice. Everything was really good but the Cashew Tofu was amazing, I would definitely recommend it to anyone trying this place for the first time. I would also recommend the coconut juice (it has whole coconut flesh pieces in it). For dessert, we had the coconut ice cream. Delicious. You could taste the fresh ingredients in it. I was sad to learn that they didn't deliver past 3 miles, but I am definitely going back to try their other dishes.

Decided to try this Thai restaurant bc the reviews were so great and they were a lot closer to my house than my usual Thai restaurant. We ordered crispy orange chicken, pad Thai and Thai Ice tea. The portions were small but good and satisfying my only let down is the amount of bean sprouts in the pad Thai the dish was 50% bean sprouts I would have loved the bean sprouts to be a small garnish not the main ingredient. Also the Thai ice tea was great but there was waaaay to much ice and barely any drink. I will definitely go back and ask for no bean sprouts and easy ice for the Thai ice tea. Customer service was also great!

My experience here wasn't that great. Came here during the weekday for their lunch special and got it to go. First of all, they messed up on my order. I ordered fried rice with the lunch special but when I opened up my box, i got steamed rice. I was also really disappointed at their portion size. For $6 or $7, I didn't get full and the food wasn't as good as most people on here say it is. My friend and I got different beef dishes, but when we tasted each others, it tasted the same (except we had slightly different vegetables).

I followed the yelp reviews and checked this place out. I to-go ordered a plate of Pad See Ew and enjoyed it very much. I also wanted to try their Tom Yum Gai but $6 for a bowl of soup seemed a bit pricy... If it was like a soup and noodle dish I would check it out, but for soup only the price seemed expensive. The reason I give this place a 4.5 is because it's cheap, delicious, and located in Anaheim. Most people around here drive quite a bit to go to Banana Bay or Coconut Bay to get Thai food, but Bangkok Spice Thai Cuisine offers itself as a solid alternative to the further Thai restaurants located near Hacienda Heights/Puente Hills.

Hmm...how do I review this place? Well the food is good. I just can't justify the cost. We walked out with a $52.00 bill and that didn't include tip. We had three mains dishes and four beers. Shouldn't have had the beer? It was just too much for Thai food. We came her looking for a place after seeing tha Charm Thai had closed. This is further from us but closer than all the places on Tustin in Orange. Same crap of charging $2.00 for rice when you order a dish that should INCLUDE rice. We got one order of rice and tried to divy it between three people. Wouldnt go back.I'm by no means cheap but it is too far to justify the food/price.

My best friend and I were craving thai food a few weeks ago and found this great little restaurant on here AND we absolutely loved it! Owned by a really sweet older couple . The food was incredible. Place was clean. Will definitely go back often! :)

I met the owner of this restaurant while doing my taxes in early 2009. He told me he owned a tasty thai restaurant and boy was he right! I got the panang curry and my wife got the pad thai. We also shared the tom yum gai soup. All were superb! Service is great too!

Wife had cashew chicken and it was amazing, chicken so tender flavors just right. They even allowed us to modify and not get any onions with no troubles. Both the wife and husband are extremely friendly and welcoming. I ordered the pad Thai, rice noodles with beef it was very good also. Lunch special was good deal at 7 bucks for a wonton, soup or salad and your entree. Overall a great lunch out of a small family owned restaurant.

I cheated on Thai Lingo with this restaurant once, and now my heart is torn. The yellow curry and cashew chicken are so delicious here, but the service is a little off. The main guy working here is kind of rude, but I won't deduct a star because their food deserves more than 5 stars. This place is truly a little gem in the middle of nowhere!

Yelped this place because I was in the mood for Thai. We originally were going to go to original Thai BBQ in Fullerton but after reading the reviews, I said that we had to come here. We ordered the chicken pad Thai, Thai BBQ chicken, and angel wings. All were tasty. The service was also good as well . The owners were the ones serving us and taking our order. The wife was very friendly and made sure she went to each table to get to know their customers. We will definitely come back again.

Was in the neighborhood and found it on yelp. The husband/wife team that run this place are very friendly and helpful. Great service. Food was delicious. I had the drunken noodles with tofu. So good. If you're in the area check it out.

This place is amazingly awesome. It's a small place with only about 10-12 tables with an older husband and wife working here. I don't know if it's even possible for them to make food that doesn't taste orgasmic. I've had the cashew nut a few times which I highly recommend, but whatever you decide on, know that it'll be good.

Awesome food. We had pad kee maw, an spicy friend rice. It looked nothing special but tasted amazing. Only complaint is that the veggie pad kee maw had crappy lettuce in it that seemed like it was a space filler. With that said, portions were HUGE. The service was amazing with very friendly older guy, who spoke great English!

Unbelievable little place. As others have already said, you'd never expect quality anywhere near as high from a little stripmall-ish area that it's in. The food and drink are really good. I usually go for green curry chicken and get it as spicy as it goes (Thai level spicy, so says the nice old man who runs the place with his wife) and tom ka khai - the yummy yummy coconut milk soup with all sorts of yummy spices and herbs and other bits in the mix. Can't take the heat? Throw in a thai iced tea and you'll be good to go. Sure, it's a bit on the pricey side compared to other places, but you get what you pay for, and in this case, it's definitely worth it. Support a local family, since the governor won't.

I used to eat lunch at this restaurant when I worked nearby and I'm quite sad that I'm no longer in the area because I really miss it. The owners and staff are always friendly, the food is always excellent, and the Tom Ka is the best I've had at any Thai restaurant, ever.

I am Thai myself and I've eaten at many other Thai restaurants. If you want the authentic taste of Thai food, this is the place! This is a hole in the wall restaurant with a tasty selection of Thai food and affordable prices.

WON-DER-FUL!!!!!! We've been coming here for over a year and I've meant to write a review of this terrific find but always put it off. Last night, we took a few friends and had a wonderful time. We ordered the Whole Fried Pompano for the first time. We'd thought about ordering it before but since it's usually just the two of us, we usually pass. With a small group, it was a good time to try it. What a pleasure! Beside being moist, light and delicious, not at all fishy or oily, it looked beautiful on the plate. We will certainly order it again, even without a group to share it. The Pad Thai is the best I've ever had. Yellow curry is a little sweet but always wonderful. This is a pretty little place with charming owners. We hope they do very well and stay here for a long time because we'd really miss them if they went to any other location.

I joined Yelp specifically because I wanted to review this establishment. Bangkok Spice Thai Cuisine is an awesome restaurant located in the Stater Bros. shopping center at the corner of Orangethorpe and Kellogg Ave. Don't judge a book by its cover - this place is really nice inside! It is very clean with tasteful decor and beautifully set tables. I believe it is run by a husband and wife team, and they are both as charming as can be! My husband and I love Thai food and we order the same thing at every Thai restaurant that we go to - he orders the Beef Panang, and I order the Pad Thai with chicken. You know, we used to be impressed with Thai House on Imperial Ave., but after I read the reviews, I started to think to myself that it really wasn't all that. Now, after eating here, I DEFINITELY KNOW that Thai House doesn't have what it takes! So anyway, we went tonight (Saturday) and there was no one in the restaurant at all. Bad sign, right? In this case, that isn't what is happening at all. They are just located in a tiny strip mall that has most of its businesses closed by 8pm (Bangkok Spice closes after 9). We were promptly seated and our order was taken. We started out with the Fried Tofu appetizer, and they came out all hot and fried up golden, with the most delicious peanut dipping sauce. Then our beef panang ($8.95) and pad thai ($7.95) came out - and let me tell you, these portions are HUGE! It is double the size of what you would get at another restaurant. Everything is served on beautiful blue and white dishes and you can't help but start to feel that you are in a fancy restaurant. My husband and I hardly spoke during dinner - we were too busy stuffing our faces! There was something different about their food - it tasted more authentic. The sauce for the panang was savory and had just the right amount of coconut milk and spice (we chose level 3 hotness). The sauce for the pad thai was so flavorful that I couldn't stop eating - even when I was sooo full! At the end of our meal, I had to tell the restaurant owner that that was THE BEST Thai food we have ever had - and we're Thai food snobs!! He knew it was our first time there, and he was pleased to hear that we were happy. He started saying that they cook their food in authentic Thai style, not Thai-American style, and that is EXACTLY what made their food so different and delicious. His wife even came out from the kitchen and said she was so glad we liked it and that she would love to make it for us again someday. We told her we would definitely be coming back. Please go out and support local businesses - and start with Bangkok Spice Thai Cuisine! You will not regret it!!!!

I love Thai food and found this place reading reviews on yelp. Awesome Thai food! Love it! It is owned by a very nice older Thai couple. The restaurant is small and feels like home style family meal. I love their soups and curry's. We sometimes go just for dinner in the middle of the week. I also see a lot of people ordering take outs in the middle of the week. People tend to come back to this place as you can see that the owners know a lot of customers. So, we are not the only people who go there at least once a month if not more often.

    (5)
  • S G.

Today was my first time eating here and we got take-out so I cannot comment on the service, but the food was soooo yummy. We got the spicy calamari salad (Heat level 2 on a scale of 1 to 5 - you could feel it in your mouth but was not burning) and the beef Pad See ew. Both were the best I've ever had. I will definitely be frequenting this place more frequently.

  • Steve L.

Friendly family owned restaurant. Owners are really nice and attentive. The pad thai was needed some spice, but they generous enough to give you chili powder and sauce on the side. The three flavor fish was good. Again, wished i ordered it spicier.

This place is in a shady little shopping center. I came because of the good reviews, and I wasn't so impressed. Liked the tom kha gai, and the chicken curry dish I had was good enough. I wasn't excellent, it wasn't horrible, it wasn't exactly memorable now that I think of it. The husband and wife team are super cute, though, and provide supergood service. Lots of people got takeout while we were there. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here again, but if I was in the mood for Thai and was in the area, I would eat here.

Picked this place based on the Yelp reviews yesterday and it did not disappoint. The owners are seriously adorable, so friendly and helpful. They have great lunch specials and I was able to get a lot of food for a good price. The food is delicious and really authentic. Cannot wait to go back and try more of the menu and more Thai iced tea mmm.

an absolute gem in a middle of absolutely nowhere. don't be put off by the shanty surrounding, for the inside of the eatery is anything but. the little establishment is run by only a husband-and-wife team, but the food is authentic and dedicated. the tom yum goong is a recommended favorite. a thoroughly homey meal when you're on a casual food run.

  • Chris S.

Very friendly service! Quiet place to eat and the food tasted very fresh. Needs a little extra spice but that's why they have hot sauce on the side. We will definitely be back!

Had lunch there today for the first time and was not too impressed. Upon walking in and sitting down it took about 10 minutes to even have them come by and bring water. Ordered the Cashew Nut Chicken and it was ok, but there was not nearly as large a portion of chicken as I have seen at many other thai restaurants. My one star rating was partly due to the slow service, but also due to the fact that I found a very old looking piece of lettuce in my salad. I was not very appetizing looking. Ok food dispute the questionable lettuce Service was too slow, so will not be going back.

This is going to be our place to go when we have the urge for Thai cuisine...hope it gains popularity in YL...looks can be deceiving, but it's family friendly and because of the food quality, price, moreover friendliness of the hostess, we'll definitely be frequent customers. They are happy to accomodate vegetarian and vegan clients with customized entrees, without being snobs about it :-)

Have been here a few times now, and it's always consistent in the taste and service. The food is tasty, and the staff is always nice. Have been helped by three different people so far, and they have all given recommendations on how to best enjoy the dish I order, e.g. which protein goes better with the dish or how to enhance the enjoyment of the dish with which sauce. The interior is a bit old fashioned as are many small mom-and-pop restaurants, but for that, it's authentic and the food tastes homemade. I like to order Green Curry, Pad See Ewe, Fried Rice and other main dishes along with Thai Iced Tea here. The Mango sticky rice is good, too, but I don't order it because, although I love rice, I'm not used to eating it as dessert. Next time I will try some soup. I recommend getting actual Thai dishes--and not something like Orange Chicken. After all, this is a Thai restaurant, and not a Chinese fusion.

  • Melody Q.

Love this place! Love the food. The fried rice is to die for! And the mango with sticky rice is simple awesome! The staff are friendly and super polite. I sometimes order for carry out and my order is ready within 10 minutes. It's like a nice, quaint restaurant that makes you feel at home from the moment you step in. If you want Thai food, this place is thebombdotcom!

Good lunch spot. I had the lunch special which includes salad , appetizer in addition to the entree. I would rather order the full sized meal next time. The portion was much smaller for the lunch special. When I placed the order, the person did warn me that it was going to be smaller, but I didn't realize it was going to be that much smaller. Same price for regular and lunch special if you get meat ($8.75). Quality of food was good. Thai iced tea is cheap: $2.50 and tastes really good! Excellent customer service. They were super nice, friendly, and helpful. Like I said, I was warned that the entree portion would be smaller and it was my poor choice as I was tempted with the appetizer and salad! Their level 4 out of 5 was also not very spicy. I will try 5 out of 5 next time. I will give them another try.

I've came here a handful of times because it is close to my boyfriend's house and sometimes convenience trumps quality. Its a Thai restaurant, family-owned, and located in the plaza on Orangethorpe. It can be a hit or miss. I've had my good experiences here and some not so good experiences here. Must haves: -Thai Iced Tea: The thai iced tea here is delicious. Not overfilled with ice like every other thai restaurant. Perfect combination of tea and creamer. -Hawaiian Fried Rice: This plate is delicious. Remember that it does come with raisins and cashews (two items which do not fall under the favorites of many people) so ask them to leave it out if you are not a big fan. They also serve this with huge chunks of pineapples! -Tom Kha Gai: This coconut milk based soup is delicious! If you're calling to order to go make sure you specify which size you want (bowl or hot pot). If you don't they will automatically charge you for the bigger size since they make twice the profit! -Tom Yum Kai: This sweet and sour soup is not for everyone since it is made of lemongrass and kafir leaves. It was very sour for my boyfriend so luckily I got to have it all to myself :) -Pad Thai: Perfect pad thai. They separate the nuts, carrots, and purple cabbage on the side for you to mix in in your take out orders -Pad See Ew: Perfect noodles and chicken. Very simple but delicious dish. Those are all the recommendations that I have for you all at this time. Very friendly group of people that always try to get you to order another dish when you are ordering.

A mom and pop Thai restaurant located inside a business plaza. It's small and quiet cozy. Not too fond of the interior, but the food matters most to me. I haven't dined in but I recently picked up some food to go. They deliver, but I just felt like driving lol. I had -ORANGE CHICKEN $8. I was craving it so bad. Big portion with big strips of chicken. I really appreciate the light and crispy texture and light coating of the orange plum sauce. It wasn't too sweet. It was delightful! -HOUSE FRIED RICE with BEEF $10- Fried rice with vegetables, eggs and my choice of meat which was beef. It was very tasty, but a bit too greasy for my liking. It could also use some more vegetables However, the portion was big and the texture of the beef was soft and tender. Service I received was good. The man who took my order was very nice and polite. They accept visa as long as it's $10 and up. Will definitely come back again and try their curries and noodles!

Waitress seem a little hardsales on their food. We order one appetizer, one veggie dish and two entree which is pretty a lot for the lunch so I wanted to cancel one but she kept saying that's our expertise you must try and do not willing to reduced the dish. In the end we had crispy calamari, fried rice and green curry but food was a far from "expertise". Overall my experience of this place is a 2 and half stars but I give them 3 because they don't have 2.5 starts.

  • Debby L.

We ordered the crispy calamari and Hawaiian fried rice without raisins. The crispy calamari was tasty but we had hoped for less breading and chunkier calamari. The Hawaiian fried rice had curry seasoning and overall, it was good. The restaurant is clean and quiet. Service was very good.

Stumbled upon this place with my girl and I'm so glad we did. The bathrooms are clean, the furniture and tables were clean and the artwork was pretty cool. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Server came back to our table the perfect amount of times. In addition the food was wonderful. We had the wing lover and Hawaiian fried rice. At a reasonable price as well I think 8 and 10 bucks respectively. Definitely will come back because the menu has a wide variety of foods. I recommend this place for people who aren't scared of Thai food.

This is by far the best thai food around here. Shop is a bit small but every time i have been here its never crowded. Lunch specials are great and Owners are very nice. The chow mien is to die for. I would have given 5 stars but dinner time portions are small.

One of my favorite places for its Thai food. The owners are really nice and will answer any question you have for them. The food is delicious and they cook their food with care. My go-to lunch spot. Flavorful food and they let you sit and talk in peace with few interruptions. Only thing would be if they came around more often with the water that would be perfect - the food can be spicy!

This was our first time here and we were not disappointed! My husband had the Thai Beef and he loved the rich flavors, especially with the chili sauce. I had the yellow curry and it's so creamy and rich with classic Thai flavors. It's spicy yet sweet. The peanut sauce here is so smooth and perfectly blended. All we have to say is YUM and that we are definitely coming back! So glad to have found our neighborhood Thai restaurant!

This is my favorite favorite Thai place. Best and strongest flavor I've found in the area with some the sweetest owners around. I'm worried to ever move away because I can't take Bangkok Spice with me :( Ps. Try the green curry and pad see ew!

Back when my boyfriend lived in Calabasas, we used to frequent a Thai place down the street from his place called Green Basil. Since he moved down to OC, nothing has quite compared. Pad Thai and Tom Kha Gai here, so good! I have a bad habit of gauging a Thai place by their Tom Kha Gai (only because we get it every time) and seriously, right on the money! So happy about this discovery. The pad Thai, also very good! It was a bit on the overly sweet side (I generally love sweet!) but it was good none-the-less. We were one of 2 parties that were in the restaurant, but as we were eating, the restaurant got pretty busy. We certainly know why! Will definitely be back!

Oh snap I must be a really good friend since my friends always want to take me out to dinner. Yay for me. I wasnt even hungry but the bffs convinced me and really what fat girl says no to food? Definitely not this one. Nom Nom Nom! Because I was in Thailand for two months, all my friends think I'm an expert in ordering Thai cuisine. What nerds but since they wanted me to choose, well OKKKKKK. I wasnt hungry but looking at the menu made me hungry. My eyes already bigger then my belly. So I ordered us a few different items - Beef and Chicken Pad Thai - Beef Yellow Curry - Spicy Chicken with bell peppers - Chicken eggrolls - Combination fried rice - Steamed rice Food arrive within a few minutes. Pad Thai was not so yummy. The beef was chewy. Its not bubble gum so it shouldnt be chewy -_- The chicken was dry. Chewy beef & dry chicken is like kicking me while Im down. Why did it have to be my Pad Thai from all dishes? I Love Pad Thai. Whew but Thank Goodness I ordered other entrees. Beef Yellow curry not so good either. My beef was tender but the potatoes were hard. Really hard potatoes? Even I know boiling isnt rocket science. Spicy chicken with bell peppers and Chicken eggrolls only items without any complaints. The score was 2 and 2. 2 not so great dishes and 2 great dishes. I tried the combination fried rice and the score became 3 and 2. The rice needed soy sauce, seasoning and the chicken cooked a little more. So more then half our dishes werent so great. Maybe the food should have stayed longer in the kitchen so it would have came out Yummier. Definitely didnt feel like a cool cat after dinner. I choose this place but today food wasnt up to par. Im not a picky eat but I expect good food at least. Maybe it just wasnt the chefs night. Guess the dinner didnt end so bad since my bffs reminded me I will always be a cool cat. Good service and prices though. I Love me some Thai food but not loving this Thai food night. On to the next food adventure :)

My wife suggested this place. Oddly my two young daughters love eating the Pad See Ew. Then following up with the mango sticky rice. I had the crab Rangoon and angel wings. Both were good except only one wing with the angel wings. A little overpriced for the wing. Thai iced tea was also excellent but also a small portion. I will likely come here again.

I came in tonight for Masaman curry with tofu. Very good. They had brown rice which is also a plus for me, as most Asian restaurants in general only have white rice (which I don't care for). Owners were really nice to me. I was talking to the woman owner for a while, because I asked her who the people were on the wall (pictures of the current Thai king and queen). Then she told me about Thai politics and history because I was really curious. Very interesting and very kind woman. I'm lucky this place is really close to my house. They have a big menu with lots of items, so check them out.

I just tried their chicken with broccoli and oyster sauce and it was delicious! I myself don't eat oysters but i enjoyed eating this delicious oyster sauce. The taste was really good and I will definitely be returning and trying some of their deserts which looked very delicious here on yelp. The price was about $9 for the chicken/broccoli with oyster sauce and about $1-2 additional for a side of steamed rice. Service to go was quick i was in and out in less than ten minutes

I LOVE this place. I've been looking for a really good Pad Thai or Pad See Ew because I have this obsession with noodles. First off, they deliver within 3 miles ( with $25 min.) meaning they already know where I live and think that this crazy girl orders a lot of food every time...( it was all for me.) This is all the stuff I've tried! Appetizers: Chicken Satay~ Super Juicy ( you get 6 sticks I believe) Gyoza~ Really good either fried or steamed Crispy Calamari~ This place is really good at frying things but I felt like the breading was too much on the calamari so I don't think I would order it again. Cream Cheese Lover~ Soooo delicious Shrimp Roll~ Good too with the sauce but I wish they would add some sort of extra filling to give more flavor to the shrimp Salads: Papaya Salad~ The flavor is definitely there with a bit of sweet and sour. I personally don't like some papaya salads sometimes because there can be too many raw vegetables that aren't julienned thin enough so it can be hard to eat. Beef Salad: This is a really good bang for your buck when getting protein in a salad. I would order dressing on the side because they drowned the whole thing though. The flavor is very vinegary and sweet. Curries: Panang Curry: I LOVE THIS DISH SO MUCH. It has so much flavor and it's a pretty mild curry. If you like peanut butter, this dish is for you! Noodles: Pad See Ew: This is my go-to for sure. It will be an extra charge with beef ($2). But there's definitely enough for one person. The PORTION is huge and fills up a to go box. Pad Thai: The flavor is so spot on though my roommate had some and thought it was really bold so he had to mix it with some rice. This place offers great service with very good sized portions for the price. It's a hidden gem but you should definitely try it!

Love this place. We eat here at least once a month. They owners are so sweet and helpful. I have celiac disease so cannot eat foods with gluten. They use Thai soy sauce, which doesn't contain gluten, so I can eat foods that I normally am not able to eat (like Pad see ewe and fried rice) at other less authentic Thai restaurants where Kikoman is used. The Hawaiian Fried Rice is one of our favorites!

Whenever my spouse and I try a Thai place for our first time, we always make sure to try a classic dish: the Pad Thai noodes, usually with chicken. That's what we ordered for lunch a few months ago here, and were definitely pleased with the bright and complex flavors of the entree. We also enjoyed the soup (sorry, I forgot what it was) served before the noodles. At this point, we're not hugely concerned that the chefs Bangkok Spice aren't interested in breaking new culinary ground. What they did that afternoon for our lunch more than met our expectations. We call this dish a nice value at $6.75 -- and the service cheerful and helpful. And, for sure, we'll be back.

Great Thai food. Nice little cozy restaurant with a welcoming ambiance. Had their beef salad and it was very fresh and not too heavy. The portion was just right as well, not too much not too little. Affordable as well (like most thai places) and decent service. Overall I'm a satisfied customer.

Chicken Pad Thai is great. Not the best I've had, but in my top five. Small restaurant that doesn't have much ambiance. The owners aren't the most sociable people, but when ordering take out, that doesn't matter so much. 4 star for to-go orders 2-3 stars for sit down meal

I don't get why this place has such great reviews. It is not even close to great. Well, it is clean, service was very nice...homey feeling..but that's about it. Food itself was just average, I had had better ones, We ordered Angel Wings which other reviewed had mentioned, it was dry, I totally lost faith about Angel wings after this attempt. The green curry was way too spicy for our 2.5/5 spicy level ordered. The larb was lacking some kind of flavor. The Tom Yum Soup was good though. My top list for Thai food is Top Thai in San Dimas and MaDee Thai in Costa Mesa while Top Thai is like an elegant lady while MaDee like a country girl.

I've only gotten pad see ew and pad Thai from here, not because they're extraordinary, but because it's the only Thai place near my house. It gets the job done, but I've had so much better. The owners are sweet, but the orders take a while

I stopped by tonight and got an order of Pad Thai and Pad See Ewe. They were very fresh and flavorful, and we enjoyed them a lot. Too much though, so I don't have leftovers for lunch tomorrow! The service was very friendly, and I will go back again in the near future!

Authentic & delicious ! We come here at least every other week. I can honestly say I'm not afraid to try something different because everything we have ever ordered has been delicious. The customer service is great. Very friendly and attentive. The pad kee mow is my favorite. And the spicy fried rice. But beware the spice is spicey. I go with a level 2 spice.

There are many options closer to home, but none compare. Simply put, the food is always excellent (and we eat here several times per month) and the service is what you should expect from a tiny, family-owned spot. Eating here you feel like you're having dinner at someone's home. The food is authentic and the people are great!

I don't know how the rating of this place is super high because my food is not good there. Ordered pad see ew and pad kra pao with chicken. My pad see ew was just super salty noodle with chewy beef. My kra pao chicken was salty chicken with fresh veggies. They charged you for steamed rice. I enjoyed my food and watched TV at the same time. The owner/manager was super nice. 2 stars!! Bangkok Spice Thai Cuisine is not yummylicious!!

My coworkers and I stumbled upon this jewel 2 months back. Since then, we have been going at least twice a week. I get the same thing EVERY TIME (Red Curry, Chicken with brown rice). The lunch special is $6.95 and comes with soup and rice + 2 wontons with chicken in the middle. The services is fast and the portions are plentiful. You have to give this place a try - you'll be glad you did!

Decent food but not authentic enough for me. Service was a lil slow cuz only husband n wife running the place. Really nice ppl though n very apologetic at the end. It would be nice if they hire one more worker to come in on the weekend to help out.... It would be much better.

Perhaps I'm too spoiled with good Thai food... I went here because of all the Yelp love it was getting. I was out visiting family here in OC and we ordered several dishes.. I don't spell well so bear with me: Chicken Prik King - one of my favorite thai dishes. This was the best thing we ordered. Chicken Red Curry - Pretty good. A solid red curry. Beef Pad See Ew - It was good. Seemed a little more greasy than I'm used to . They just put brocholi in it and no bokchoy. The noodles were a little thick but it was aiight.. Where was the beef? Orange Chicken - for my little sisters. The standard... I'm not sure why this place gets so many 5's. It's solid and an average place but not near a 5. Come back to reality people....Really????

Being really awesome doesn't make your food taste better, I understand that, but my favorite thing about this place is the staff. The woman who does most of the cooking has a habit of coming to our table (usually with a noodle hidden somewhere on the back of her shirt) and asking my boyfriend and I about the tenderness of our tofu. I can tell she scrutinizes over it. I've never had tofu like it. Their food is the best in the area, and I've been everywhere. I would recommend their soups and, of course, their pad thai. And I'm not just saying that because they are so friendly.

First time here since I heard such good things and it was a horrible experience! The service is impossible! So slow, they completely messed up my family's entire order, and their pad Thai which I heard is "amazing" completely lacked flavor. I don't plan on coming back. The owners are so nice, but I just choose not to try this place again.

Great tom kha goong. This is my favorite local Thai place. Appears to be family owned, and the servers couldn't be friendlier. My girlfriend just about had a melt down over how good the pad see ew was. If you like crazy spice, ask for the Thai chilis in fish sauce, which does not come with the usual assortment of spices. Good noms.

there were a lot of customers and we had to wait 20minutes to get seated and another 20minutes after ordering D: and no free refills.... seriously? other restaurants give me refills but not this one.. But their noodles are good :)

One of the best thai places I have been too. Family owned, and both husband and wife are very friendly and attentive. Food is great, I always get the Tom Kha Gha (coconut soup) and the spicy bamboo dish. Spicy levels are on point, make sure you know what you are getting into. First time with Thai? Go with a 1 or a 2. If your experienced and can handle it 3+ is always good. 5 is killer.

As others have noted, Bangkok Spice is not much to look at from the outside - small, strip style place in a shopping center. However once inside you will find a comfortable, authentically decorated space. My wife lived in Thailand for 5 years - not as a tourist - but as part of a Thai family - she stated many times about the food being exactly like what they ate in Thailand. This review will cover two visits - Both times we were welcomed and experienced great service. I will note that both times were not during dinner rush. As with most small places, I would predict that unanticipated large parties or rushes could easily overwhelm the staff of family and friends. On our first visit we were served by the owner/chef Jimi (no idea on the actual spelling of her name - total guess - and most likely a nickname). Jimi is an owner that truly cares about her guests enjoying her food, she came out and spoke to a couple of times, she remembered me from my first visit. They also shared with us some of the things they do - like using fresh ingredients, and not skimping on them - and some money saving practices commonly used by other Thai eateries - that may have effected the quality and taste elsewhere. First visit - Chicken Satay, Thai Beef jerky, Panang curry, Three flavor fish, combination fried rice, and the mango sticky rice. I liked the satay - I do wish they offered pork though! I love the jerky - the beef slightly more than the pork but not by much - a little dry like jerky, but not totally dry like the packaged stuff - there is still some moisture left - mostly a texture thing - what I like most about it is the sauce!! My wife loved the 3 flavor fish and said the curry was perfectly authentic. I ate the curry, but I am not a big curry fan so I can't really evaluate it fairly. The combination fried rice was just OK in my opinion on my second visit we opted for the plain brown rice - I thought it was a much better choice, and less expensive. Second visit - Tom Kha Gai a spicy, coconut milk based chicken and mushroom soup that was very good. It is offered non spicy as well, you are able to tailor to your taste. We went with spicy and it was perfect. You could taste all of the flavors - they were not overwhelmed by heat. We were told one of the keys is to use only coconut milk as opposed to some cut mixture. Had the Thai Pork jerky this time as stated above. Shrimp & scallops with garlic sauce - this dish was just OK - nothing special - I think our server was trying to get me to go with something else - and I should have - it wasn't bad, just not as good as the other dishes which made it seem even more average. Had an order of the Pad Thai with chicken - I am not experienced with this dish - according to my dinner partner it was pretty good, light and flavorful with a nice balance of sweetness, nuttiness, and chicken flavors. They serve Chang beer, a Thai import, which pairs well with the food and I enjoyed on both visits. On my first visit we had the Mango with sticky rice - this is a dessert, and a favorite of my wife. I was planning on taking some home for her but unfortunately it is out of season right now, and they won't serve it if it's not right - which I appreciated. We were there close to closing on the second visit, (and after closing in fact) and never once felt rushed in any way. The owner came out and thanked us as we left, giving us a feeling from start to finish - that if you are going to go out and spend your money, it's much nicer to spend your cash at places with owners that appreciated it.

Fullerton is not exactly the epicenter of Thai cuisine so I'm usually pretty excited to branch out and try well-reviewed establishments in nearby areas. Bangkok Spice Thai fit the bill with stories of a cute mom & pop shop in a nondescript strip mall that boasts dishes as good as Thai Town. Certainly its location leaves much to be desired. It's in Anaheim Hills on the border of multifamily residential and industrial zones where the highlight of the strip mall is a Stater Brothers. Inside, however, the restaurant is tastefully decorated with a smattering of Thai tzotchkes on the wall: photographs of Thai dignitaries, paintings, wooden sculptures and the like. Indeed, the restaurant is owned and operated by a Mom & a Pop. That fact is fairly evident because service is downright jumbled and slow. I had heard Dad takes charge of the front of the house while Mom cooks, but that does not appear to be the case. Both Mom & Pop were out in front at various points in the night. The two combined, however, is not really enough for proper service. John appears to have accidentally dropped his napkin and it was whisked away by Mom but no replacement provided. I tore mine in half so that he could wipe his mouth. There are no such things as checking in on you, or having an readily available person to flag for various needs. Water does get refilled but one would be wise to build in a bit of wait time. We ordered the Pad Thai and a Whole Fried Fish with Spicy Chili Sauce with a side of white rice. The Pad Thai arrived first and if this were a race, won by a huge margin. Essentially, we ate all the pad thai before the fish arrived. Yes, it was a very good version. Pad Thai noodles merely need a quick soaking in water prior to stir frying and it was clear this was done moments before hitting the hot pan. They were actually al dente, which I have never ever experienced in a Thai restaurant before. The noodles truly were toothsome. The sauce was good as well, lacking in tamarind but not overly sweet or ketchupy like bad ones. The whole fried pompano arrived covered in a reddish curry with bell peppers. This was not at all what we expected when we ordered it with "spicy chili sauce on the side." Since when did a chili sauce morph into a bell pepper curry? John really took issue with this dish and complained that the curry masked the fish taste. I just didn't like the texture. When I order a whole fried fish, I want the skin and fins to be potato-chip crispy and shatter to the bite. Perhaps that was how this fish started out but once drenched in curry, it was hard to know it. Based on what I know, I won't be making any special trips out there but if you are in the area, the noodles are great and please let me know what else are must-orders.

they have a good combo meal available at lunch and dinner. comes with a main, choice of rice (egg fried, white, brown), choice of soup, egg roll, and fried wonton thing. Despite the fact that the soup is almost always served luke warm, I continue to return only because of the great combo deal.

This is the way Thai food is meant to be. Well, at least the curry. I have yet to eat inside, but my husband and I have been getting takeout. We've been on the search for a good panang curry, and we have definitely found it here. Possibly some of the best panang curry I have ever had!! Just to emphasize: EAT THE PANANG CURRY. Soooooo good. Thank you, Bangkok Spice, for finally making a good panang. It's been too long. I've also tried their egg rolls and maybe some noodles or something. I wasn't really paying attention because I was in some sort of weird ecstasy coma from the panang. The food is perfection! I like to call ahead for my takeout order, then it's ready when I step through the door. Perfect!

Great food, but service is a bit slow because it is totally a husband and wife team. literally. but they are very hospitable and truly nice people. they just need to hire like two more people. the yellow curry is the best. just enough sweetness. the spicy fried rice is bomb diggity. Tom yum goong is also wonderful. definitely one of the better thai restaurants in the anaheim hills/yorba linda area, a nice well kept secret.

I didn't expect this small restaurant to be this good. I assume it is owed by the husband and the wife that's working there who were extremely polite and friendly. I had the chicken satay which were the bomb, yellow curry and pad thai which was good too I'm more than satisfied with the food and the price is extremely decent.

Ehhhh not sure why this place has four stars....the service is good but perhaps I ordered the wrong dish? I decided not to order the usual pad thai or pad see ew...instead i ordered a glass noodle salad with chicken and shrimp with a spicy lime dressing....it was a number 2 on a scale of 1-5 and my god it was more spicy than I expected! The salad consist of way too much shredded carrots and shredded purple cabbage for my liking....two pieces of shrimp and a few slices of chicken. The dressing was different, tasty even, but the glass noodles soaked it all up making it extra spicy and somewhat soggy =/ I wasn't very satisfied with my dish....my bf had better luck and ordered the pepper steak sauteed with green beans spicy level number 2 also...but it wasn't as spicy as mine. I actually liked his dish a lot more. Perhaps I should have tried the pad thai....maybe next time...if ever in that area again and i felt like getting thai food........ one last thing though...my salad was pretty expensive for what i was given....$8 bucks! -_-" i did not get the most bang for my buck there......

I found this place by using Yelp! The staff was very friendly. Even the customers were nice and friendly...they heard it was my first time at Bangkok Spice Thai Cuisine and they enthusiastically supported my choice to eat at this establishment. "No matter what you order, you're going to love it!" The Curry Masaman with tofu was Totally Delish!

We enjoyed everything we ordered to go, which also made great leftovers for lunch the next day. Complete hole in the wall, but grear service. Our order: Pad Thai with Chicken Pad Seeeww with Beef Yellow Curry Chicken White Rice (extra charge) Great thai food in the area. We'll be back.

Oh. My. God. Best Thai food in America I swear. Coming from someone who has been to Thailand this is the real stuff! I usually just get one dish when I go there: Tom Kha Gai sub the Gai (chicken) with Tofu & Veggies. It is seriously the most amazing dish in the world, and they hit the flavors spot on. They are super Vegetarian/Vegan friendly and many of their ingredients are organic if you care about that. The restaurant is tiny and run by a husband and wife team like everyone says. I would not recommend coming here during busy hours because, like I said it's VERY small. Like 6 table very close to each other small. Probably as big as my living room including kitchen small. Other than that the husband & wife are really friendly and try to get to know their customers. They always make sure your water is filled and don't make you over-wait for your food or ask for refills or anything, they're always attentive to their tables and try to make the eating experience as good as it can be I guess.

Exactly what 3 stars means, A-OK. We've only ever gotten food to go, but after three chances, I'm convinced that it's not the best. I believe Thai food shouldn't be more than $10 per item and that even most should hover around $6-8, but here most items are $8-10 and some of the portions are a little smaller than other Thai places I've been to. Only good thing is it's the closest Thai place to my parent's house.

The most authentic Thai in the area, which is really not saying much. We went twice so far and tried their Tom Yam, Nam Sod, Larb, Pineapple Fried Rice, Papaya Salad, Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Massaman Curry. The Tom Yum and all the salads were wonderful and they make it spicy! The Fried Rice was excellent and Noodles were passable. The Curry, however, was excessively sweet. Perhaps we ordered the wrong kind, next time we'll try their Panang. Service was more attentive the first time. The one thing I didn't like was the way they charge $2 for a tiny pot of rice. We had to keep ordering more. Anyhow, we will return for our Thai food fix as it's heck a lot closer than Thai Nakorn or Thai Town.

I've been back here several times after my initial visit. It seems like I like the food a little less each time. Tonight, the Pad Thai was chewy and too sweet. The Wonton Soup was just bleh. The BBQ ribs were salty as hell and was just slightly softer than jerky! And it tasted more like American BBQ than Thai BBQ. Had fried rice once and it was the most boring fried rice I've ever had in an Asian restaurant. Sorry, I just have to downgrade a star. Service was still very friendly but I'm not sure I like it enough to come back again now.

First timer. My friend brought me for the first time and im not sure what he ordered since I wasnt so familiar with the food. But whatever he ordered I loved. Soup, Noodles with shrimp, and Thai tea. Thai tea is a must best ever and way better than coffee. Their service was great. felt comfortable eating there. Super calm.

Today was the first time eating at this place...I arrived and waited 30 minutes just to place a order. Only one waiter/hostess working the entire restaurant. A couple came in after me and was handed menus and served their food before me. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!

This is the second time my family and I went here yesterday looking for a good Thai fix and again, we weren't disappointed. We had five orders (1 large Tom Yung Koong and 4 entrees) which totaled around $56, which isn't too bad. For the curry, you need a separate order of rice for $3, but they give you a good amount so you can share with someone else. The pad thai we ordered was a little hard - I had to chew too much so I didn't really enjoy it (I'm almost more of a pad see ew kinda girl). We also got a vegetable and seafood plate (I'm not sure what it's actually called) which was pretty spicy. This place also gives you a lot of carrots for any plate that has vegetables. I prefer broccoli.

My friend and I tried Bangkok Spice last night. He had never had Thai food before, and this place had been highly recommended to me, so I asked if he wanted to give it a shot. He was excited to try Thai food for the first time. The restaurant is very small, no frills. We were seated right away, there were only two other occupied tables during our visit. The service was awful. It took 10 minutes for them to ask what we wanted to drink. When the drinks were brought to us we ordered our food - one appetizer, one soup, and two entrees. The food took forever. The first item to arrive was the Angel Wings appetizer. I had never had these before but somebody recently told me they are very good. Maybe they are, but they definitely aren't at Bangkok Spice. The mixture inside the chicken didn't have a very good flavor, the batter was super thick and dry, and after my second piece of gristle I gave up on eating these. Within about two minutes of the appetizer arriving, the Tom Kha Gai soup came out. We had been asked what spice level we wanted between 1 and 5. We went with a 3. The soup was actually really good, it was the only thing I enjoyed here. A level 3 spice isn't hot at all, so if you like spicy soup, you should probably get a 4 or 5. Literally one minute after our soup came out, the entrees were brought to the table. I hate that. Let me enjoy my appetizer/soup and then bring me the rest of the food. Our Pad Thai was not good. It was very dry and the only flavor I picked up on was raw peanuts. Also, there were more bean sprouts, carrots, and other veggie fillers than there were actual noodles. Very disappointing. The Pepper Steak is described as this on their menu - "Stir - fried sliced beef, bell pepper, carrots, onions in a rich gravy sauce." What we were actually served were unseasoned pieces of beef that tasted as if they had been boiled, unseasoned bell peppers, tomatoes, pineapple, and onions. The "rich gravy sauce" was thin, watery, and flavorless. The bill came to $41 which I thought was reasonable, but the food just sucked, as did the service, and I would not return to this restaurant again. I felt bad for suggesting this place, and ruining my friend's first Thai experience. He said he didn't like it and probably wouldn't get Thai food again. I asked him not to base his opinion of Thai food on this joint, and offered to take him to another better Thai restaurant in the future.

A wonderful mom and pop place. Literally you get both mom and pop serving up some excellent Thai food. I've been here a dozen times and it is always exceptional. The owners are a nice friendly couple who really work hard and take pride in their work. It is a neighborhood place with plenty of regulars - like myself. My favorite is the Panang curry. Wonderfully spiced and rich sauce. The Tom Gai soup is fantastic also.

I went here with my husband and my cousin. We ordered the tom yum koong soup, yellow curry, pad thai, and a beef basil dish. Let me just tell you, when they ask you how spicy do you want a dish....a 3 is really a 5! Damn my mouth, stomach, and hair burned! I was very impressed with the yellow curry. It was a tad bit sweet, but if you add a little dried chili it's really delicious. The pad thai was pad thai. Sometimes you eat pad thai at some restaurants and there's all these flavors thrown in to look like pad thai, but there's no really distinct flavor. The pad thai here makes me want to come back for more! I couldn't really taste the beef basil dish because it was too spicy. Start off at a lower number and work your way up. I wanted my husband to rate this place a 4 because I haven't been very impressed with any of the other thai places i've been to lately so I thought this place deserves a 4. :) I'm craving Thai food!

I've been to several Thai restaurants in Orange County and Las Vegas. Bangkok Spice Thai has the best Thai food! The restaurant is brightly lit, clean and comfortable. The restaurant is run by a husband and wife team. The husband takes the orders and his wife is the chef. The chef comes out to the tables to talk to the customers and ask how the food is. They are both very friendly. We ordered Pad Thai, Panang Curry and Combination Fried Rice. We were surprised by how large the portions were. Thai cooking is about flavors blending together in a delicate balance so that none of the flavors over power one another. Pad Thai is one of the most difficult dishes to make. If a Thai restaurant can make good Pad Thai, chances are the rest of the dishes will be delicious also. Bangkok Spice has excellent Pad Thai. It's the best I've ever tasted. The flavoring on the noodles is just right. It's not too strong and not too light. The texture of the rice noodles is slightly chewy which is how it should be. We ordered the Panang Curry with hotness #1. It goes up to #5. We thought #1 was just right. The curry is a complex blend of flavors that is balanced just right. We liked the vegetables in the curry which were crispy and not overcooked. The fried rice has that fire taste you can get only from a wok. It was the best fried rice I've ever tasted. I told owners that they have the best Thai food and that I'll be back.

I decided to try this restaurant based on the first review and the other Thai restaurants I've been to haven't been "to die for". (I never even noticed there was a Thai place there before). I went in for take out and there were a few people dining in. Well, I forgot my glasses so I ordered my usual yellow curry ($7.95) and pad thai ($7.95) both with chicken and a side of steamed rice. My first taste of the curry was nothing like I had before. It was full of flavor and the consistency was thicker than other curries I've eaten. The pad thai was also a great combination of flavors. The takeout portions were generous and I could not stop eating. I wished they would have packed the rice since I had more curry to eat. This is a place to go for Thai food !

The food is very authentic, you can really taste the spices and the flavors are great. It's a little place inside a strip mall next to the Stater Brothers. I think the owners are a husband and wife team. The service is great, they are very sweet and genuine people. You will not be disappointed. My favorites are the yellow curry, pad thai and pineapple fried rice. Of course you must have a thai iced tea to wash it all down.

This is in the top two of my favorite Thai restaurants (the other one being near L.A.). I ordered the lunch special with soup, the curry of the day and pork. I asked for a spiciness of 3 for the curry and lo and behold, it tasted like what I would consider a 3 (middle rating for spiciness). The soup that came with the lunch special made a great appetizer. I had Thai ice tea to drink and it was nicely sweetened. I have been to places that made it too sweet and other places that made it too bland, so this was a good experience. For dessert, I ordered the coconut jelly. The coconut he brought out was one that I've never seen in my life. It is much smaller than the usual young coconuts but also much more flavorful and satisfying. Apparently it has only been on the market in Thailand for a few years and the owner has it imported. As a result, the coconut is frozen and heated/thawed to serve as it is not grown in North America. This makes me want to travel to Thailand someday to try this new variety of coconut as a fresh treat rather than a frozen and imported one. Even frozen and imported, it is the most delicious coconut I have ever eaten in my life, even easily beating out fresh young coconuts of the original variety by a large margin.

The only Thai place to eat in North Orange County. I always get the pad thai and the yellow chicken currry. It's amazing!
