We ordered the California burrito, Carne Asada plate & Enchilada and Chile Relleno. Restaurant was very clean, service was awesome and they were fast. Carne asada was very tender and tasty. Our only complaint was the rice was salty but it could have just been that batch. We look forward to trying more on the menu. Definitely recommend this place.

I give them 4 stars because there veggie burrito is excellent! Highly recommended. What I disliked and found bland was the calamari and fish tacos. I only tried them once and never ordered them again. So they lost a star for that. I regret taking such a big bite to get my money back.

Javier was very courteous, professional and thorough making sure our order was correct both at the intercom and then again at the window. Javier's customer service is something you dont see very often anymore it was very nice. Best experience ive personally had there so far. Keep yp the great work Javier!

I've been here a few times now. First time was late at night and went based on reviews, was definitely not disappointed. Went back today only to find $5.99 carne asada bowls with chips and a drink! Sold! Love this place when I am around Yuma.

Sombreos went downhill a long time ago, but I was hopeful that the Yuma location would perhaps be better than the San Diego locations that I stopped patronizing years ago. I was wrong. The pollo asado burrito is skinny and overpriced. The shrimp burrito I received was falling apart after one bite. Not to mention that the ingredients just are not very tasty. My last visit put the last nail in the sombreo coffin for me.

I pretty much always like Sombrero Mexican Food, regardless of location. This restaurant tends to be my first choice when ordering a bean and cheese burrito with sour cream (my personal favorite). I stopped at this particular location on the way home from Phoenix and was a little disappointed that it wasn't closer to the freeway, but no big deal. We ate inside and found the restaurant was clean and the service was quick.

We used the drive through on our first visits. The food was very good, but they made three mistakes in our order that we didn't discover until we got home. Regular Tea instead of Green Tea. Chicken Enchilada instead of Cheese Enchilada. Beef Enchilada instead of Chicken Enchilada. Warning, they charge $0.50 to add onions.

Not every day does a business go from a five star location to a one star in my book... And that only happens for a small number of reasons... 1.) bad service 2.) food is gross 3.) merchant greed; jacking up prices. Yes, believe it or not every menu item you purchase has now had its PRICES SIGNIFICANTLY RAISED, sometimes that could be by several dollars. If you're going to advertise yourself as a fast food restaurant and try to compete with chains like McDonald's etc. then you can't expect the customer to go along with every opportunity you get to nickel and dime them Instead of offering them value. These guys have jumped the shark in my book and have gone from great to terrible... that represents a terrible shame in my book because we used to be able to eat there for a decent price, but when you order or items from the menu and your bill is $35+ then I begin to say to myself that this has gone from a great option to something I wouldn't even consider.

Went here last night after an ER trip.. So amazing. I've been here plenty of times and they never fail me on the carne asada fries. Along with the good food comes a decent wait time and an abundance of food for what you pay. If you want fast Mexican food.. I would suggest this place to anyone! You don't have to chose between quality and quantity.

Oh mummy....this place competes with the SD locations... On a side note y'all know sombrero mex food was in a blink 182 song? Back to the story... Ordered the usual burrito. Portion size was great for the price, not skimpy. Inside was decently cleaned, but it's not a steakhouse so don't expect candles and white linens. I'll be back soon now that I've found out they're in Yuma.

Good for fast food. My food was served in minutes. Regular combos like # 18 is super abundant! (Almost too much for me). Recommend for people that have short lunches and want inexpensive good Mexican fast food.

Really good for a quick bite of standard Mexican grab and go food - tacos, burritos, enchiladas etc. Their beans and rice are always good too. Salsa is only ok.

I am a fan of this place. The prices are pretty good. They are the closest I've found to "San Diego" style Mexican food. hahaha well, the Americanized version. Anyway, my hubs likes to get the Carne Asada fries. Good size portion, and the carne asada is always good. Some places you get a lot of fat in the meat, but we haven't had that problem here. I like to get the 4 beef rolled tacos with cheese and lettuce. It's the perfect amount of food. They have a few different kinds of salsa. I LOVE their salsa verde. YUM! But they also have a couple different kinds of red and fresca.

I love me some Sombrero's. I grew up eating at the Sombreros in San Diego and was happy to see this one appear in Yuma. The Carne Asada burrito, rolled tacos w/guac, or the monster burrito are by far the best items on the menu. They also have the best red taco sauce for any taco shop.

I love going here!! The food is great - in fact, I think they put a little too much meat in the products. Service is great - I always use the drive through and you can hear the smile through the intercom. Try it, you'll like it!!

One of the greats of San Diego taco shops right here in Yuma. I love this place. The food is yummy and the prices are good. The family that owns this chain are awesome too. I got a rewards card and couldn't get it to work, and emailed them. One of the owners called me from their kids soccer game to get it working for me. That blew me away. That kind of customer service is rare. The rewards card is an awesome idea BTW. For every $50 you spend you get $5 off. The have all the taco shop standards and even some San Diego specific things, like carne asada fries.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
