Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I am waiting for car repairs and I was hungry (breakfast) and one of the people at the dealership recommended this restaurant. I read the reviews...this place is like the greasy spoon of Mexican food. It's very blue-collar (which is fine) and the atmosphere is super casual. I don't so much care about that stuff I tend to fit in anywhere. The food tho...being a AZ resident for over 10 years I have sampled and loved Mexican food of many types. In Phoenix I had favorite places depending on the zip code! I will not be returning here. I did not like my food. The salsa is watery and has no flavor. The pico de gallo appeared old-like it had been sitting in a container for a few days. I ordered chiliquiles with rice and beans. The rice and beans are average. The chiliquiles are disgusting. I couldn't even more then a couple bites before I had to put my fork down and say Nope nope nope...their is a flavor in them that I do not care for...my companion ordered the machaca and eggs (on the menu it was designated as a "favorite") and he didn't finish his plate. This is shocking to me as he is not one to ever ever ever leave a plate with food still on it. I tried his entree and I could see why. The food is just poorly prepared with bad ingredients. It amazes me how busy this place is however it's Yuma and its cheap; so there you have it.

Great breakfast. Top tip is to get a dozen Sonora Bean and Cheese tacos to go. Delicious.

Nice little place for breakfast or dinner that is easy to miss. I ordered the bacon egg burrito and have to say it's good for the price ! The salsa is probably the best I've had in a while.

If eating here please beware of what you are eating !!! i ordered a carne asada burrito with guacamole and cabbage and as i'm eating my burrito half way through it i bit into something really hard go to find out it was a big piece of broken plastic i took pictures and took it in and all they did was give me my money back for just the burrito i was pretty pissed that they seemed not to care that i could of cut my mouth or even choked with it or that maybe one of their employees could have possibly cut themselves before that went into my burrito i'm really grossed out that i cant even eat and i was starving when i got the burrito this place is very disgusting. i'm only giving them a star because i have to put something there but i would not give them anything at all !!

This is a great lesson on "don't judge a book by its cover". This is seriously good food! I know a lot of people that would likely not come to a place like this based on the lack of ambiance alone, but they would be missing out on some very seriously good groceries, great dining experience and amazing value. They're nice folks, too. I'm thinking about moving next door.

First thing I noticed about this place is that their prices seem to be so cheap - burritos for less than $3 and lunch/dinner plates (served with a side of beans and rice) for between $5 and $7. Granted, it's a small hole in the wall restaurant in a nondescript strip mall near the airport and military base. Their menu boasted that it serves Yuma's best authentic Mexican food so I had high hopes for the food. I chose the fish taco dinner plate ($5.25, 2 tacos) because it's one of my favorite dishes. The fish pieces are kind of small and they seem to be overpowered by the deep fryer taste more than anything else. Bottom Line: Whether or not La Casa Deli really offers the best authentic Mexican food in town I don't know, but it sure is quite a bargain!

I used to eat here a lot for lunch. They have really good sonora tacos. The beans are just ok, they don't seem to have much flavor. Their breakfast burritos aren't great; they lack the indigenous Mexican style of Yuma. Chips and salsa are ok. The restaurant is small, with two rooms. Its big enough for a large group though. The wait staff is pretty good, not terribly fast, but not slow either. Parking is limited, but most likely you'll find a spot. They share a parking lot with Domino's, State Farm, and Speedy Auto Glass. Its a good place for lunch if you want to try something new. Some of my friends really, really like this place, so don't take my review too much to heart.

Worst Mexican food I have ever eaten...Period. We were visiting from San Diego and we were a party of 6. In SD, we visit lots of local and small mexican restaurants similar in size to this one. We know what good mexican food is supposed to taste like. La Casa Deli is awful and I don't think the food is safe to eat. It doesn't matter that it is inexpensive if you get food poisoning!! Don't waste your money at this restaurant. The salsa was watered down and unflavorful. The Pico de Gallo was mostly chopped onions and jalapeno's, with very little tomato and cilantro. We ordered 2 steak chimichangas. Both of them were fried in old grease and the insides were cold. The rice and beans on all of our plates was cold. 2 burritos were ordered as well. Both cold inside. I ordered the chicken fajitas. The chicken was precooked, old and rubbery. You could tell that my meal had been heated in the microwave, and it still wasn't very hot. Ya, they had the nerve to serve me food heated in a microwave! Needless to say, I didn't eat very much of my dinner. Thankfully, we didn't get food poisoning, which I was convinced we would get since the food was not served at a safe temperature. The city needs to send an inspector to this restaurant for dinner. La Casa Deli definitely needs to be shut down because the food isn't safe to eat. Upon leaving the restaurant, one of my teenage boys said, "Mom, if you are still hungry, we can always go to Taco Bell. At least the food will be hot." (Taco Bell is next door to La Casa Deli)

Every time I go here I get the posole, it has got to be the best in town, parking is good but can be bad at times, people and service is normally good. Chips and salsa are on given right away. The burritos are great. In the evenings a nice cold beer with Mexican food is always a plus. Prices are outstanding this place may look like a dive but the food is great!

Wont go there again. I can't argue that their carne and fish plates are probably delicious but not worth risking painful food poisoning. I can attest for two occurrences of poor food quality: my husband use to go there once in a while until he got seriously sick from food poisoning, he never went back. I went there once, to meet a friend, and ordered just a bean burrito to play it safe. The beans weren't horrible but not tasty whatsoever. The bottled chocolate milk for my daughter wasn't expired but had obviously been unrefrigerated long enough to taste very sour. I can only imagine how poorly they handle their beef, chicken and fish! On the upside, the servers are very nice.

I'm going to give five stars here but I really want to say 4 1/2 stars and here's why, the service was super super friendly it was quaint and quiet the food is flavorful and best of all it's crazy cheap. I ordered the Carne asada burrito it was delicious but it was beans and beef inside that's it. Now to be fair it is advertised that it comes with beans and that was fine but I would've like some pico or extra salsa or something. My suggestion for a perfect affordable burrito is to add some extras for a little more money ;) definantly going back!

This is a great price and a great value for simple Mexican style food. Reviews said try the soup and I did. Pozole was hot and had plenty of meat and was delicious with two fresh tortillas. On the menu they list tortas (deli is in their name) as a speciality. I had the carne asada. Fresh bread with lettuce and tomato with a bit of mayo, slice of Kraft cheese, and a nice layer of asada. The small soup was $4 and the torta was $3.25. What a deal for the stuff in them! The chips were stale and I almost left before I ordered. The salsa or whatever is in that jar is dodgy. I'm glad I stayed! For these prices I won't touch the free stuff and order more stuff from the menu. I would have given it three stars but they have great service and brewed iced t. I solved the chips not bring fresh mystery. Whilst paying I could see they pre stack bowls of them for faster service to the tables. Of course if it's slow. They get stale.

Good neighborhood breakfast and lunch spot. I ordered a ham and cheese omelet with a side of bacon and was very satisfied considering the $8 price. Pro: - Call ahead ordering available for pickup - staff was very courteous - food was very good and at the right temp. Cons: - staff struggles with English sometimes - no waiting area for pickup orders - food was heavy and greasy even though it tasted good Would return for a quick breakfast.

What's this place lacks in atmosphere it makes up for in the quality and freshness of the food. Food so good, I could imagine my own Mexican grandmother back there cooking recipes from the old days. And I'm not even Mexican! Please come and try this place out. You'll be glad you did.

I heard about this place from a friend and wanted to get some great soup. I ordered the soup to go and had to wait awhile while it was put together. The Albondigas and Posole soups were awesome. Great flavor and so authentic. Can't wait to return for some more.
