Diabetics at TGI Friday

If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:

Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

Desserts are a big NO for you if you are worried about your high cholesterol levels. It is recommended to skip all kinds of desserts, especially the Brownie Obsession. You should also skip the meat burgers and sandwiches at TGI Fridays as these items are high in saturated fat which can elevate your LDL levels.

I know this sounds crazy but, Day Breakers is no ordinary " Truck Stop Restaurant." We all know the breakfast is Awesome! They are serving different variety of phenomenal steaks, NO JOKE! Tonight we had the 32.oz New York Strip for 2 it came with baked or mashed potato's, vegetable side which is corn on Friday's, rolls and soup or salad and we chose clam chowder. FOR $39.99 THIS IS A HELL OF A DEAL!!!! We eat at all kinds of fine steakhouses and I know you wouldn't think this place would be that but it cooks a superb steak!!

  • Amiee H.

This looks and feels like a TRUCK stop breakfast place, but the food is GREAT! I really like the sweet potato pancakes (American heart association approved!) and all the other foods were delicious too! It's a no frills, kind of place. Just dishing good old traditional American breakfast foods!

    (5)
  • Barbara W.

OMG! This place is the BEST! The breakfasts are amazing. I am going to recommend them to Guy Fieri on Diners, Drive-in & Dives. Order the ham and eggs and you will talk about it all the way home. Three of the best chefs around! I can't wait to stop there on our trip back from San Diego in a few weeks. A must for anyone going through Yuma! Don't want to forget to mention the amazing waitress, she deserves a raise.

    (5)
  • Steve A.

I went to the cafe because there was sufficient truck parking for my semi. I ordered a steak (rare) with a baked potato. The steak arrived at nearly room temperature and was tough enough to join the Marines. There was plenty of gristle to get caught between my teeth. The waitress disappeared and we had to get refills from the busboys. My wife ordered a hot pastrami with a beer. The sandwich was greasy and I had to go to the bar myself for a refill on the beer. I have been to this cafe before, and have always been impressed with the food and the service. They use real butter and their ranch dressing its always fresh.

  • K A.

Small cafe at a truck stop very friendly service and karaoke coming from the bar (funny). Pricey for the type of food. We had 2 burgers a shake (delicious) a salad and a tea with tip 35$

    (3)
  • Betty M.

They have a sign on their door that says people love them on Yelp! for a reason! Service and food were excellent. I had the sweet potato pancake pan san. The pancakes tasted like spice cake, and the bacon was cooked perfectly. My husband's chicken fried steak and eggs came with fabulous gravy and the steak was so tender you could cut it with a fork. I think we've found a new favorite place for Sunday brunch!

  • Beau G.

Food is pretty good. Price is good. Staff was very friendly. Since I live close, this is my go to place for breakfast and a cup of coffee...

    (4)
  • Mark P.

The best restaurant in Yuma and the foothills. We come here every weekend. Everyone is friendly, prompt, and the food is great.

    (5)
  • Jess J.

There isn't much around Yuma for breakfast. This place hit the spot though. Ok so it may have outdated decor but the food is good! The service is great as well, Lea was our server and she was very attentive and quick with the coffee! Overall, a no frills place, get your breakfast and move on!

    (4)
  • Risa S.

On a race cross-country from DC to San Diego, this place hit the spot. A sit down restaurant, but with fast, attentive service and located right off I-8. The veggie burger was hot and delicious. The Breyers ice cream a special treat! Awesome place!

    (5)
  • Rhombus A.

Yes please! I had the chili omelet, my friend had the pancakes, and my other friend had the Denver omelet. Yum! All of it. The decor is older but spotless and they have some seriously cool old stained glass hanging lamps. The staff couldn't be nicer, and the coffee was hot and plentiful. Go and enjoy.

  • Laurie N.

We just stopped here on our way to San diego. I normally dreed stopping in Yuma since most places are dirty and serve greasy fast food, however, this place was a germ in the rocks! Food was excellent as was the service! My pickiest eater who dislikes trying new places, loved it and asked if we could stop on the way back! I actually changed my baby in the bathroom vs changing him in the car due to how clean they were. Would def stop again and recommend!

    (5)
  • Michele' F.

This was our first time here, we were seated fast. The food was great and a great price. The people here are friendly and helpful.

  • Debbie B.

Great service great value. Perfect sized portions. Love this place! Quiet and comfortable seating. Swiss mushroom burger was WONDERFUL!

  • Christian A.

This place got food. If your woman is mad at you , this is the place to take her if you want to sleep safe.

    (5)
  • Lori W.

Service was slow. Waitress forgot what we ordered and ended up getting extra food. Patty melt was bland. The only saving grace was the ranch was good.

    (2)
  • Evan B.

Need a non chain meal off the I-8. Quality, variety and service? Than this may be your spot. The huevos rancheos had a rich sauce with veggie chunks in it, it is served with corn or folour tortillas. Serivce is fast and if you drink cofee you will be hard pressed to see the bottom of your cup.

    (4)
  • Darla D.

Best patty melt around! Great service. Great prices. Breakfast and senior specials. Something for everyone on the menu.

    (5)
  • Jeff B.

I have been to Daybreakers 3 times now, if you are ok with very rude waitresses and average food this is the place for you! Eggs are never cooked all the way, ask for anything extra and be ready for attitude from the waitresses. They are usually very busy so I figured it was a good place but really it's just because all of the snowbirds. I have learned that pretty much any restaurant in the Foothills caters to the snow birds, so if you are under the age of 55, expect to be treated like crap.

Have been coming for several years. Enjoy the food and the people.

  • Sue R.

Just had the # 3 breakfast special for $3.99. Just the right amount of food and couldn't believe the sausage was even good. My hubby had the Huervo Rancheos. He loved it. They also have a great Friday Fish Fry. Will be back ... often.

  • Sarah W.

Love this place. Good was excellent, bacon cooked just right, not too crispy, not underdone. Coffee is nice and hot and tastes delicious. Service was wonderful. Our waitress was Michelle, she was so kind and made sure we had everything we needed. Such kindness is rare. It was very appreciated =)

Great place for breakfast, lunch or Dinner Karaoke Thursday's and Sunday evenings It's like Dinner and a floor show can't best it even happy hour

Stopped by on our way to Phoenix & had dinney. Excellent cat fish fry, all u can eat. Fast friendly with a bit of a New England accent. Everything was good and price was affordable.

    (5)
  • Yoder O.

Came here because of the good reviews. First I sat down for 15 mins before the waitress came to the table. I ordered the cat fish thinking I couldn't go wrong. Well I was wrong. I ordered it fried. Even bigger mistake. They fried this fish til it was Damn near burned to a crisp. The fish was just all bread and skin. Then I tried the mash potatoes and you can tell it was right out of the box. I don't know if I'll try this place again but this was a horrible first impression.

  • GG G.

We have been eating at this restaurant for quite a few years (it used to be under another name). This trip though it was busy, service was unusually bad...my wifes eggs near raw overchaged for a small oj my meal was almost finished when condiments arrived as i asked for them at the time i ordered, served wrong potatoes that were burned and very greasy. Difficult getting my coffee refilled. We will go back hopefully to an experiece we have become accustomed to at Daybreakers

    (3)
  • Peter C.

Breakfast is great and good portion size. Homemade spicy breakfast sausage is a must to try and not labeled on the menu. Summers have a small town feel with no wait. Winter rush starts in October and on weekends is predominate in the morning. Mimosas are strong and competitively priced. Overall great place.

  • Terry M.

Came here on recommendation of our hotel, and it was very good. Very diverse menu, including all day breakfast. Best deal on menu was probably the 8oz. NY Strip Steak for $9.95, included potato choice, veggies, roll plus soup or salad. The steak was well seasoned and cooked to a perfect medium rare as requested. Veggies were the frozen mixed variety so I left them. The spaghetti and meatballs weren't as successful....pasta not drained well, lots of water on plate. Hard to explain their "hearty Marinara, it was very thick and flavorless. We ate in the large bar area as it had a better atmosphere and more people. Server had a hard time understanding us when we ordered 3 courses and asked that we complete one course before the next one was served. We got our appetizer and she immediately brought the salads! We asked her again to please wait before serving the entrees. So we got to wait almost 30 min. Before we saw her again with out food! Way too long. We would go back. Nice place, friendly people snd pretty good ests!

  • Cashina R.

Well, this place is exactly what you would expect. Diner fried food, not bad. The local drunks were definite entertainment and the service was atrociously slow, but it was Christmas Eve, and they were open. I ordered a glass of milk with my meal and it was sour and had turned bad. Our server gave us a "free" pie to make up for the milk, but we still paid for the milk and they were the same price..... So no real savings.

  • Del O.

I must admit that I've been passing by this place for years. I finally decided to try it out to see why it was so busy all the time and I think I found out why. No matter how busy they have been, we have always managed to get fast and friendly service. My two favorite things on the menu and the only things I order every time I go are the Sweet Potato Pancakes and the Eggs Benedict. They are reasonably priced and the portions are good sized. One of our favorite spots for breakfast for sure.

    (4)
  • Cindy L.

I would have given them 4 stars after the first time we stopped and had the amazing blueberry pie...but...we stopped on our way to San Diego last weekend and I got food poisoning from the ground round and onions. I called and reported it and would have thought management would have at least given me a courtesy call, but did not hear anything back. Eater BEWARE!!!!

  • Scot C.

Good little breakfast style diner, open 24 hours daily. Haven't tried them for dinner.

    (3)
  • Randy M.

I went here with a friend a few weeks ago and it was good. I went again last night. I had the petite NY Strip. It was amazing! Food is good. Lots of choices on menu. Way too many snowbirds asking what is included with the meal but that will pass in a few weeks. I'll definately eat here again.

    (4)
  • Sarah B.

The food is really really good. I would NOT recommend going on a Sunday morning/early afternoon. All the snowbirds go there right after church and it takes forever to get a table. Once you get seated (30-45 later) they're very attentive the service is good. Once the snowbirds head back north it's probably way better :)

    (3)
  • Jim K.

This is a simple diner that serves home style food for a reasonable price. Really great breakfast food with a smile. A real throwback to a simple time.

    (3)
  • Wally E.

Good place to eat. Wife and I had good service and the people were very nice. Over all we would eat there again.

    (4)
  • Tim Y.

Good, friendly service. Large selection on the menu. Old-fashioned decor but clean. Stopped in for breakfast at midnight a couple of days ago and our waiter was great. The food was not lacking in any way despite the hour. Had fantastic classic country music playing, too. Will definitely stop in again. Maybe next time we'll get to check out the full bar as well as get some good grub.

    (4)
  • Michelle L.

What a blast this place is! Oh, and Karin, the bartender is the hostess with the mostess!

    (5)
  • John W.

We went looking for a straight up, no-nonsense breakfast place and found Daybreakers. Off the I-8, this delivered what we were looking for. Huge pancakes, biscuits smothered in rib-sticking country gravy, egss bacon and never-empty cups of coffee.

  • Mrs C.

Stopped in for breakfast with husband. Husband wanted the special which was steak and eggs, waitress talked him into adding a dollar to the $8.95 special and getting the better steak which he did. Steak was nice size and tender! Didn't know if it was worth the extra dollar but hey it's just a buck right...I had the breakfast burrito, it was below average! With so many great places to get burritos I should have known better. I had ice water, husband had coffee and the bill came to $20.00. By the time you tip we left thinking to ourselves that was a lot of money for a so so meal. We would like to go back during the week to try the $3.95 breakfast specials which are not available on weekends.

We are over the road drivers, when we come to Yuma, this is the IT spot to eat!! Service is great and food is Awesome!!!!

    (5)
  • Chelsea B.

I ordered the pancake, sausage, eggs breakfast with extra hash browns and pineapple juice. The hash browns were the best part of the meal.. The pineapple juice was filled with water, my boyfriends biscuits were raw on the inside and my sausage was cold. But our waitress was very kind and funny!

Everyone from San Diego talks about stopping at a well known restaurant in Yuma with rocking chairs on the front porch. I am not mentioning it by name because I don't think their food deserves all that attention, I wasn't impressed. But there is another restaurant that does deserve attention and lots of it. Today passing thru Yuma we went with our family to an unknown restaurant (to us...but not the locals!) It is a truck stop cafe called Daybreaker Cafe, off I-8, Exit 12 on Frontage Road. The restaurant is super clean, well maintained and excellent friendly service. The food though is the best part. The usual sandwiches, soups, salads, etc. But also some amazing $5 specials, like the shrimp taco plate my husband chose (and loved)as well as homemade comfort food like meatloaf mashed potatoes and gravy, biscuits and gravy, etc. I went with a hamburger and side of potato salad, which turned to be another great choice. The hamburger looked perfectly ordinary until I took a bite. It was so tender and juicy and delicious! I can't even begin to describe how good. And the potato salad tasted exactly like my mom's homemade. . so good! Our drinks were refilled constantly and the prices were beyond reasonable. Who needs an overrated still unnamed tourist restaurant with a long line, high prices and mediocre food. Follow the locals to the Daybreaker Cafe. It will be your new Yuma stopping point to have a great meal!

Went there for a drink with friends. Ordered Black Velvet Manhattans. First round came made with BV and tequila, sour and vermouth. Not a Manhattan. We told her how to make a proper Manhattan. Price was pretty steep since we didnt get reimbursed for bar tender school. Won't be back.

    (1)
  • Raymond H.

Mediocre breakfast. Wife's waffle cold. Bacon limp & greasy. Pancakes cold and way to thick. No taste. Eggs not cooked as asked for. Probably won't eat here again. Overpriced.

    (2)
  • Jeffrey C.

This place does not care if you complain or have a problem. Its a snowbird haven, and that is all they care about getting. If you like undercooked or warmed over food and rude service, This is your place.

  • Sally R.

This was our second time in. The first was for breakfast and they were very busy. The meal was fine and reasonable priced, but service was bad. We came back for dinner a couple weeks later, hoping the very poor service was a fluke. Nope, it ended up being just as bad. The staff was inattentive, slow and kept leaving everything they brought to the table at one end so that we had to hand everything out. Understandable if we were a large party, but there were only three of us. We went for the $10.95 New York Strip. It was tiny! In fact we joked that they had filletted down a real steak in order to get two. Very thin. The taste was very good, they did a fine job with that. In fact , if they had made up for the light weight steak by bulking up on the fries, I may have given them a pass. But they tossed a scant handful of fries along with a medley of barely edible steamed veggies on the plates along with a couple dry dinner rolls. That is a real crime here in Yuma where the veggies are fresh, plentiful and cheap. We never did see our waitress again and had to go pay up front. The manager acted like we were really asking a lot having to ring us up and couldn't find our waitress to get out check. All and all we will give this place a thumbs down and try somewhere else next time.

  • Peggy B.

We were pleasantly surprised to find our experience a positive one. 2 years ago we had two very poor meals at Daybreakers and vowed never to return. When we will were invited to join a group of friends this morning we were hesitant but thought we would give them one more chance. The food was very good and the service was excellent. We are happy to see the big improvement and will be back while in Yuma.

Amazing prices on steak that tastes great! !! great tortilla soup and fantastic trivia on the tables. The waitress has been nice, and the cafe feel is great. Worth a stop.

Daybreakers might normally pass for 3-stars, but not when I went for my first time on a Sunday morning. The hostess said the wait would be 15-20 minutes, but it turned into 30 minutes. I ordered the breakfast combo with eggs and my wife got an omelet. Both of our orders came back incorrect: she got bacon in her omelet when she asked for it not to have bacon, and I got partially lukewarm to cold potatoes instead of my requested homemade fries. Our waitress also tried to rush us to order to beat a 10-top, and didn't bother to see how we liked our meals. Other than that, everything was okay. The portions were reasonable and prices were generally decent. The service was rushed, but cordial. I'll probably reevaluate Daybreakers when it isn't snowbird season.

  • Linda D.

Order the meatloaf -- waitress said was really good -- homemade --- guess she hasn't not tried it yet--- also the potatoes were awful - gravy cold -- had carrots but they were just carrots no butter. Waitress more interested in so many more things than us. Told her we did not like it, could of at least comp us for half or something. Well never go back again. Everyone says how friendly everyone is, but this is the second try I have given this place -- waitresses are not the greatest, only want there tip, you have to be a little more interested in the customer.

  • Camille R.

I love this place. It's a very diner-ish, truck-stop & down-home kinda place. I'm sure a lot of people stop by on their way to Tucson or San Diego since it's right off the freeway. I'm a local so that's not the case for moi. The food's fine and filling but the staff is what makes this place. They're friendly and they remember you. Last I went, I took my new baby girl and the waitress that had served me a few months back while I was still pregnant, remembered me and what I had ordered. Now that is service! Or something creepy, I don't know, but it sure brightened up my visit!

  • Mary W.

There were six of us for Thanksgiving dinner 11/28/13 and the staff did an outstanding job of customer service, food and serving so many people. The turkey and ham dinners were very good, plenty of everything, including dessert. We are thankful also to Daybreakers for honoring the veterans with a free meal. Just had to show proof of service. My husband and I returned for breakfast on Friday and again the service and food was terrific. So many friendly smiling staff. Take care of our local businesses as they are here to take care of us year round. Thank you Daybreakers you are the best.

Stopped in for breakfast. Ordered Huevos Rancheros. They were just "ok". Not authentic, wouldn't order them again. They put the eggs on top of corn tortillas (which they're supposed to) but served flour tortillas on the side? Nice friendly staff though.

  • Cindy P.

All you can eat catfish. Reasonable prices. Just wished I could have gotten it grilled or broiled instead.

    (4)
  • Kenny W.

Not bad, not bad at all. It is very hospitable and the meatloaf was excellent. It was juicy, tasty, and generous. I also enjoyed the pancake that I ordered. My only complaint is the corn which was clearly from a can. I'm also questioning the mashed potatoes as well. The price was reasonable, and the portions quite large. There's certainly better food out there, but overall it's a decent place to stop and eat. It's a nice place to go and I will recommend eating there again.

  • Timothy R.

This place has good food and service, we had the skillet plate and it was large enough to share with someone else. Great place to stop by on your way from or to San Diego.

  • Mar L.

I dont like these kinds of places. The prices arent bad, but you get what you pay for. I didnt care for the atmosphere, nor the food. Maybe its just old school... maybe its just not very good. I will not come back here. But they do make real milkshakes. Thats cool. ..und das ist nach der Kritiker

I've been to this place twice now and the food was awesome both times. the only issue I have is that the service is not great at all. me and my mrs. got seated and waited 20 min before the waitress even asked us what we wanted. then it took 30 min to get food. we asked her to bring a side of mayo and never did. we ended up having to the hostess to do it. the bad part is there was only 2 other tables. the waitress was not accommodating at all and had another table walk out on her. we had to ask the manager where our waitress was when we were ready to leave bc we hadn't seen her in while. the hostess was more of our waitress than the actual waitress. all in all tho the food was really good. the managers need to hire better staff that actually care about doing their job. both times we went service was horrible. if there is a 3rd time I will not recommend anyone going there nor will I go there again.

6 of us went for dinner and we all loved our food. Gail, our server was great. The Vegetable Omelet was wonderful. One person had the $9.99 New York Steak and he said it was great and cooked perfectly. This was our 2nd visit in the week.

As a halfway point from CA to AZ, this is a good truck stop café. Portions are big, prices are reasonable. Nothing fancy, but meatloaf and tortilla soup were good. The Fish and chips...not so much. Server was very friendly.

We were traveling from Tucson to home. Having not been on the 8 for years didn't know where we would eat. Had to get gas and saw the Daybreakers Café just next door. We love diners so in we went. We found a nice diner with a lovely waitress. She was so happy and kind. We had never had sweet potato pancake before. We ordered our corn beef hash and eggs with one pancake to try. She brought out the pancake for our "appetizer". Wow it was really good. I am a corn beef hash lover and have it most places we go. Really good here. We want to thank the Café for giving us a nice eating adventure. We will be back.

A truck stop cafe to be sure, in the same lot as the local Flying J, but decent food at a reasonable price. Six of us went for dinner on a Monday night about 6:30, so the place wasn't especially crowded. This place is located in the middle of Snowbird country here in Yuma at the height of the season, so it can be busy at times. The interior of the place is truck stop sheik, dated but clean. I had the hamburger steak which was a half pound of ground round, nicely cooked with mashed and veggies. It also came with soup or salad, I had the bean soup which was outstanding. My wife had the veggie omelet which she said was good. It was pretty good size too. She had an issue with her toast, which she wanted well done (read black) which didn't come until halfway through her meal and then still not well done. The others in the party had other entrees, including fish tacos, chicken fried steak, and the half pound New York steak. Everyone was delighted with the food. Our server was very friendly and attentive and was a veteran of the place. She pretty much had things under control. This is our second trip here in our first two weeks, and we will probably come again during our second two weeks.

Mediocre breakfast. Wife's waffle cold. Bacon limp & greasy. Pancakes cold and way to thick. No taste. Eggs not cooked as asked for. Probably won't eat here again. Overpriced.

This place does not care if you complain or have a problem. Its a snowbird haven, and that is all they care about getting. If you like undercooked or warmed over food and rude service, This is your place.

This looks and feels like a TRUCK stop breakfast place, but the food is GREAT! I really like the sweet potato pancakes (American heart association approved!) and all the other foods were delicious too! It's a no frills, kind of place. Just dishing good old traditional American breakfast foods!

  • Matt J.

Small cafe at a truck stop very friendly service and karaoke coming from the bar (funny). Pricey for the type of food. We had 2 burgers a shake (delicious) a salad and a tea with tip 35$

Love this place. Good was excellent, bacon cooked just right, not too crispy, not underdone. Coffee is nice and hot and tastes delicious. Service was wonderful.

I ordered the pancake, sausage, eggs breakfast with extra hash browns and pineapple juice. The hash browns were the best part of the meal..

Stopped in for breakfast. Ordered Huevos Rancheros. They were just "ok". Not authentic, wouldn't order them again. They put the eggs on top of corn tortillas (which they're supposed to) but served flour tortillas on the side? Nice friendly staff though.

I went here with a friend a few weeks ago and it was good. I went again last night. I had the petite NY Strip. It was amazing! Food is good. Lots of choices on menu. Way too many snowbirds asking what is included with the meal but that will pass in a few weeks. I'll definately eat here again.

The food is really really good. I would NOT recommend going on a Sunday morning/early afternoon. All the snowbirds go there right after church and it takes forever to get a table. Once you get seated (30-45 later) they're very attentive the service is good. Once the snowbirds head back north it's probably way better :)

We went looking for a straight up, no-nonsense breakfast place and found Daybreakers. Off the I-8, this delivered what we were looking for. Huge pancakes, biscuits smothered in rib-sticking country gravy, egss bacon and never-empty cups of coffee.

Just had the # 3 breakfast special for $3.99. Just the right amount of food and couldn't believe the sausage was even good. My hubby had the Huervo Rancheos. He loved it. They also have a great Friday Fish Fry. Will be back ... often.

This looks and feels like a TRUCK stop breakfast place, but the food is GREAT! I really like the sweet potato pancakes (American heart association approved!) and all the other foods were delicious too! It's a no frills, kind of place. Just dishing good old traditional American breakfast foods!

Small cafe at a truck stop very friendly service and karaoke coming from the bar (funny). Pricey for the type of food. We had 2 burgers a shake (delicious) a salad and a tea with tip 35$

Me BFF and moi used to go for brunch until she got transferred to SD County. Steak and eggs were the morm the steaks were always perfectly cooked and my eggs were done as ordered up and runny over the hash browns The waitress saw me do it and ever since that's the way they came. I rarely go anymore since I hate eating alone I sort of wish they had a community table rather than a counter. Ti, Yuma Foothills

My husband and I stopped in for breakfast this morning and had a great experience. Ordered eggs Benedict and chicken fried steak and both were delicious. Service was very good and a bonus on top of our awesome breakfast was bloody Mary's for only 2.50. We will definitely come back and refer our friends here.

Nice and comfy truckstop-like diner. Wasn't the cleanest place I've eaten but the biscuits and "Elvis Presley" French Toast (with bananas and peanut butter) were very good. Everyone was impressed with the quality of the food.

Stopped in for breakfast. Ordered Huevos Rancheros. They were just "ok". Not authentic, wouldn't order them again. They put the eggs on top of corn tortillas (which they're supposed to) but served flour tortillas on the side? Nice friendly staff though.

I went here with a friend a few weeks ago and it was good. I went again last night. I had the petite NY Strip. It was amazing! Food is good. Lots of choices on menu. Way too many snowbirds asking what is included with the meal but that will pass in a few weeks. I'll definately eat here again.

About TGI Friday

TGI Friday is a casual dining American restaurant chain founded in 1965. The term “TGI” is an acronym for Thank God It's and together the name of the restaurant is often announced as Thank God It's Friday. Over the years of its existence, the TV commercials and other advertisement streams have also twisted the phrase a bit and used it as Thank Goodness It's Friday. The restaurant serves alcoholic beverages primarily. However, they are also known for their low-carbohydrate and low-fat menu items to promote a healthy lifestyle. TGI Friday also offers gluten-free items on its menu for those with gluten intolerance.

Besides the cool name, TGI Friday also has an interesting background story of its origin. The founder of the restaurant Alan Stillman lived in a New York-based neighbourhood full of a young crowd, especially girls from the airline and fashion industry. He started the first TGI Friday restaurant in New York in the hope of meeting single women as there weren't any such public place for young men and women to meet. He invested $5000 on his own and borrowed another $5000 from his mother to buy a bar named The Good Tavern and renamed the premise to Thank God It's Friday, inspired from an expression during his time at Bucknell University.
