Help- this place is declining fast. I love Cracker Barrel, but this one has gotten so bad over the last 5 months that I am considering not coming back here again. - the food has been cold two nights In a row. - there is not dedicated server. They platoon which causes confusion and delays. - it has gotten dirty, very dirty. - my biscuit had. Finger hole in it yesterday. -The corn bread was burned. I am a share holder an love the feel of the Cracker Barrel when I am on the road. This one needs attention from the company.

Surprisingly bad experience, because I have eaten at other locations of this chain and until this last visit, I really liked Cracker Barrel restaurants. Service was not swift. Whole meal was served cold, and my coffee was Not refilled. I ordered eggs bacon sausage biscuit & gravy. I ordered my eggs over medium, but they were served cold and runny. Both bacon and sausage were cold. I am NOT a customer to send food back, so I ate what I could and left pissed off. I will no longer visit this location or ever recommend.

I love the amount of food you get for your money at Cracker Barrel. I also love how everything tastes homemade. The store is a favorite of my kiddos who always want to see what's new.

We make a pilgrimage here from San Diego several times each year. I always order the old timer's breakfast. The food has a home cooked taste. The staff are not as friendly and responsive as some other restaurants, but they get the job done. What really makes the place shine is the unique menu items (like fried apples) and the ambiance. I'll keep coming back as long as that doesn't change. Some day I'm going to buy one of those rocking chairs they have out front.

A great favorite but not in NV or CA :-( Getting my fix of good ol' southern cookin'! Gotta love this place for the consistently good service and comport food quality. Wide selection of menu items sure to tickle anyone's fancy! Nikki was our server and she was cheerful and attentive. I had the 1/2 pound burger on grilled sourdough and my favorite steak fries and Ron had the grilled chicken salad with buttermilk ranch dressing. Okay... maybe not the most healthy of lunch selection for me, but heck when in Rome do as the Roman's do! Don't forget to have the chocolate coke cake too!

The service and staff were great and friendly but the food, well, although looked good, it was seriously lacking taste and flavor. The Cracker Barrel originated in the south east and looks and tastes like the greasy spoon flavor fell off on its way over to the west coast. While the staff is wonderful and the little country store gives you that Mayberry feel, the food just doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies at this location like it did; in per say, the Atlanta, Georgia location.... Maybe the sweet tea didn't have enough sugar, the catfish breading not enough grease.... But I left with a "tasted like Denny's" feel :/ Very bland..... Come on Cracker Barrel, let's get you back to your strong Southern roots.

Gross. service sucked. food was overcooked and limp. I'm not sure how people call this food. Youre better off eating fast food...

Very disappointed...poor service and the food was COLD. We have enjoyed CB across the country, but the Yuma location was sub-par. Hope there is a change for the better.

Took one hour to be seated then ran out of ribs after ordering. No water, no bread, no nothing.

My wife and her family stopped here a few weeks back and were pretty impressed with the food. My wife said that my son loved it too, so that in itself warranted a stop. I had been here before but its been a few years. We stopped today on the way back from San Diego. I was happy with the choice. It was 2 in the afternoon but I was in the mood for some pancakes. Cracker Barrel is cool like that and they serve breakfast all day. I ordered Momma's Pancake Breakfast. It came with 3 pancakes with your choice of maple syrup or fruit topping, 2 eggs and choice of bacon or sausage. I went with peaches and whipped cream as my topping for the pancakes and I decided to go with scrambled eggs and bacon. My wife got their chicken fried chicken along with mashed potatoes, corn and mac and cheese (my kid loves the mac and cheese) and biscuits for her bread selection. I had coffee to drink and my wife had a soda. Food was pretty good. The pancakes had a grip of fruit and whipped cream on them and they definitely hit the spot for what I was craving. The eggs were good...presented more like an omelette log than the usual mental picture of scrambled eggs. The bacon was good. The coffee was hot and fresh too. My wife loved her meal. She gave me a bite of her chicken and it was crispy, hot and delicious. Being the nice wife that she is, she also gave me one of her biscuits. I buttered it up and threw some strawberry jelly on it. It was very tasty. My son enjoyed eating his little pieces of mac and cheese, corn and chicken that my wife cut up for him. He loved it so much that we fed him some mini waffles before our food arrived and he STILL ate a bunch. Must have been good, eh? Service was friendly and attentive. Total for our meal including tip and everything was only around $30.00. Very reasonable for the sheer amount of food. We bought some candy in the Country Store for dessert and we were on our way. If you ever feel like some good, down home comfort food, this place definitely fits the bill. We will be back for sure!

On our way through Arizona, my friend wanted to stop at Cracker Barrel. It's perhaps one of her most favorite restaurants. This is literally the closest Cracker Barrel to California, as we have none that I can think of in California. This Cracker Barrel location has a large parking lot and seems to be quite busy, the wait was close to 20 minutes when we arrived there during lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Inside the store, you have lots goodies including their on site baked pies you can take home, unfortunately I didn't get to try any of the pies here. Once we sat down the server brought over our drinks, I decided on some of their coffee because I was driving the whole way. Their coffee was pretty decent and they provide unlimited refills which was nice. I ended up ordering a sandwich platter, which was the Grilled chicken tenderloin sandwich ( yelp.com/biz_photos/crac… ) with a side of pinto beans. The sandwich was pretty decent, the bread was nothing special though. The chicken was super moist and grilled perfectly, great chicken. The pinto beans were on the okay side, I wasn't able to finish them though, since I had quite a large breakfast. My two friends also ordered some plates, one ordered the chicken dumplings with carrots and collard greens ( yelp.com/biz_photos/crac… ) and another ordered their awesome oatmeal ( yelp.com/biz_photos/crac… ). Both dishes were up to their standards and they enjoyed their food as well. Our server was very attentive and the restaurant overall was pretty clean and well taken care of. I really had no complaints about this place, the food just wasn't my full cup of tea, however my friend really loves this place and I can see why, lots of people seem to love it.

The food was good, but the service was a little lacking at this location. I was pretty surprised, as I've eaten at Cracker Barrels all over the country, and always been impressed with the service. I had ordered the Mama's Pancake Breakfast, but added an order of toast. I asked for the toast to be buttered, but they weren't. I asked for blueberry syrup for my pancakes. I order this quite often, and have always been brought two little bottles, but my server only brought one and it was maple syrup. I reminded her that I had ordered blueberry, so she went and grabbed me one. She did bring me a second one after I asked, but did she expect one little two-inch bottle of syrup to be enough for three pancakes??

I drove here all the way from San Diego California, and they did not disappoint me. It's a shame that California has so many issues, that Cracker Barrel won't come to us. And after lunch, I'm sitting outside writing this review rocking in one of their rocking chairs

You may have heard many speak of the Cracker Barrel as a legendary restaurant, with high expectations and hungry stomach you may wonder if it can make dreams come true and change your life on your next road trip...maybe it will but, first lets go over a few things... Do your regular eating establishments have menus containing options like quail eggs, kale salads, bone marrow, quinoa? If so this is more than likely not going to suit your taste buds. Have you ever considered Denny's, Ihop, or Waffle House an adequate brunch? If so this could be your spot... Have you enjoyed going into a Truckstop ever? Yes? Okay, this maybe a magical experience for you. If you have decided to move forward on this quest to your nearest Cracker Barrel get excited about all of the options for side dishes! So many options and they will even include 3 options on your platter! I wish more places included side dishes these days. I thought the Okra was good, green beans were alright. The grits were gross and I like grits. Main dishes, I recommend going with the Chicken and Dumplings, these are delish in that country way that they are meant to be made. Roast Beef, eh. Ham, gross. Meat loaf, meh. Also, be prepared for lots of babies and no options for alcohol. The cheapness of the menu can compensate for those facts if in fact this is the type of food that will suit your taste buds.

Some Cracker Barrels are good and some aren't. This one falls into the later category. The service is good. I love to shop the store but the biscuits and the corn bread are dry and hard. I keep trying because friends like going there. I keep trying different items but alas...not good.

The customer service is a joke. And this is why, not only was I told " wait I'm trying to do my rounds" with a finger to the face, but then after 15 mins of no coffee had a refilled and asked "if I was happy now" no I actually am not lol obviously. Not only that but it was the first time my husband ever been to a Cracker Barrel and the last for a friend deploying. Talk about a screwed up attitude. Messed up order.

Good stop before California. Last CB on Hwy 8 before CA state line. Nice store, too. Service is friendly, and I counted no less than 7 Vietnam Vets. A lot of "thank yous" given today. Try the cole slaw.

Everything was exactly what I expected it to be for A Cracker Barrel restaurant. Good food at a reasonable price and good service. The waitress brought out a sample of the chicken and dumplings for my mother before she ordered it because she explained it may not be the same as the traditional dumplings she was used to. They are more like noodles than balls of biscuit mix. I had the apricot pork chops with pecan sauce and it was delicious.

I have serious mixed feelings. lets start from the top - seated immediately - sweet tea - informed the waiter i had a fruit allergy didn't ask a thing about just walked off - fruit in my tea which i asked for none and fruit on my plate... like gees glad to know you didn't listen when i clearly said i have allergies -the food was ok, i ordered something small literally the biscuits were tiny! i ordered 2 extra to make up for the fact -however there was a server Dale i believe his name was, i was so sad we didn't get him he was amazing, he was sweet, outgoing, and an amazing waiter.... nothing special but it certainly calmed my cracker barrel craving.

It's a big bright star during a 6 hour ride to AZ. It is exactly 2.5 hours from San Diego so it makes Yuma a Perfect first Stop. It won't be the greatest food of your life. But it is timely, and should involve gravy, something fried or mac and cheese. I actually got the healthy egg bake and watched my son devour his pancakes while the table next to us passed around a plate of chicken fried steak and biscuits. i felt like a jerk. Never again, egg bake! Service was great. As I said in my tip, if you are visiting people and want to grab a gift, the gift shop is actually pretty good. But who on Earth buys a rocking chair?

Amazing!!!!! I drove all the way out from San Diego for a fix and it was so worth it. I had the chicken and dumplings which was delicious as well as the extra rolls and corn bread we got which I could not get enough of. The chocolate Coca-Cola cake was sooooo yummy as well. :) I cannot wait to go back again

Somewhat sad. I must say that we drove to here from San Diego JUST to eat. We have eaten at plenty of this chain. But for our anniversary, I thought it would be a treat for my husband--we don't have them in CA, but plenty of advertisements for them on cable. Always loved the fried okra and fried chicken. Upon arriving, there was a group with signs and tented booth...after further inspections, we read that they were closed for "blah...reasons"... I'm sure for inspections, remodeling, or "Important reasons"... Shame on me for not calling a Cracker Barrel and asking if they were open for business ...??? Because WE first call CHAIN restaurants and ask if they are open...??? No. The only insurance is that they are a CHAIN and will be OPEN. Worst, they were opened on the next day...I never would have thought to call. We ate at a fantastic Mexican Food establishment and went back to SD. This would be a 1 star review, but I do know/enjoy the food. Just a destination for a 3 hour drive...

If there's one thing you can count on it's the down home goodness of Cracker Barrel. I never tire of coming to this place. Even though my home state of California has the misfortune of not being graced with a single establishment, I still manage to drive out with my fellow CB devotees to feed the craving. It's not like the food is earth-shattering nouveau or give you the answers to the universe, but it's good food for good value. It always puts a smile on my face at how consistently delicious it is. It's like every bite I take of their chicken n' dumplings or chicken fried steak makes me recall the first time I had the meal--who i was with or where I was at or even what year it was. It's like a time capsule for me for the past fifteen years. You can't say that about a lot of restaurants. There's no place that serves quality food with some charm and character that spans almost the entire country. There's no place where food this good tastes the same in Kentucky or Texas or Pennsylvania or, yes, even Arizona. Fast food can make that claim to a lesser degree or some other family chain restaurant, but for my money if you want consistent good times surrounded by good fare and drinks, then it's got to be Cracker Barrel. And that's not just the 200-mile journey talking, that's the craving that drove the three of us out here talking.

Our waitress was a no show..she ignored all of her tables in fact...but the other waitress Randee..was superb. She adopted us and made a special effort to take good care of us. The coleslaw is delish as was my fried fish. The shopping was the big event. The gift shop is always great fun.

With so many people eating here I would think that the food would be better for a corporate chain eating establishment. I wasn't disappointed by the bland tasting food, it's what I expected. I didn't expect the food to be served almost cold, I couldn't even spread the butter on the biscuits. This place was voted Best In Yuma for their Country/Chicken Fried Steak in 2012 but they seemed to forget how to make it in 2013. I don't see myself eating here again.

I wasn't expecting a five star experience at Cracker Barrel but I was expecting something better than what I received. I don't believe that I've ever been to a Cracker Barrel before (are there any on the West Coast?) but my boyfriend had been to one in Virginia. On our way home to San Diego from Tucson, we stopped by this Yuma location for dinner. It was around 6:30 and the restaurant was packed. We had about a 10 minute wait for table. The menu is extensive with a separate breakfast section. Several of the breakfast items sounded tasty but I wasn't in the mood for them. Instead, I decided on the Chicken Fried Chicken meal with sides of fried apples, mashed potatoes and a green salad. The green salad was lackluster and the ranch dressing was not my favorite. We also had to request silverware and the silverware we received was still dirty. When our main courses arrived, we had a split decision. My dinner was actually pretty tasty. The chicken and gravy were as expected and the potatoes were good with a bit of added salt. The apples were probably the highlight of the meal though as they're like apple pie filling with cinnamon. Yum! My boyfriend's meal, on the other hand, was not as good. He ordered the Sampler, which is supposed to come with chicken dumplings, ham and meatloaf and he had sides of mac and cheese, hash browns and cheesy grits. But when the dish was served, it had no meatloaf. When he questioned the waitress, she simply said, "Oh, I don't think we have any more." Huh? Why would you not say this when we order? She went back to the kitchen and must have scrounged up a piece because a few minutes later she was back at our table to drop it off without a word. It was like she was mad at us for asking for what we ordered. Basically, the service is quite poor and the food is average. I would possibly stop in for breakfast on another road trip to Arizona but I think I'll pass on dinner.

This was our first Cracker Barrel experience. The food was nothing special, your usual diner fare. However, the prices were very inexpensive for a sit down restaurant and the fried apples tasted like apple pie without the crust, very very yummy!

Growing up in San Diego, we had a Cracker Barrel in the Mira Mesa Mall. It had nothing to do with this chain, and I've heard that a different company owns the name for use in California, which is why they don't have restaurants out there. My parents love this chain, and while driving through, I decided to stop by. I was with 4 people. None of us were that happy with our meals. I had the lunch special for the day -- a chicken pot pie. It wasn't that good. My friend was trying to get a different side then what came with his meal. For some reason, that became a 5 minute discussion with the waitress. My Diet Dr. Pepper tasted flat. Yet, they have a decent sized menu and the prices are reasonable. Three days later, upon returning to California -- we all stopped back in. I went for the Reuben sandwich. Now, a few days previously....the Reuben somebody in our party ordered, had hardly any corned beef in it. Yet it tasted pretty good. This time, there was a 15 minute wait before the waitress returned to tell me, "We ran out of corned beef, but the chef said he could make it with extra sauerkraut instead." So, I had the option of getting a Reuben sandwich with no meat, but extra sauerkraut. I would've loved to ask the chef if he thinks anybody outside of Dusseldorf would find that even remotely good. I opted for the chicken salad sandwich, which was good, but I can't figure out why they had a huge blob of chicken salad on the middle of the bread, that wasn't spread out. Weird. And again, the Diet Dr. Pepper tasted flat. The gift store provided interesting things to look at while waiting for a table (which wasn't a long wait), and the waitresses all seem to do a decent job. I'll give it another chance, but...was a bit disappointed.

The food was delicious!, I enjoyed my meal very much, waitress was ok. It was super crowded, one could barely walk in the store, but I still enjoyed looking at all the cool things they sell. I'll definitely visit again.

I have been wanting to try this place forever. I was excited to see it in a shared parking lot to the hotel I was staying in. We went in for dinner and it was busy alright, but it was a nice touch to be able to sit on their oversized rocking chairs while we waited. We also looked around the country store and purchased some candies that you barely see anymore. We were seated within about 10-15 minutes, the chairs were uncomfortable and small compared to the big old rockers we were just sitting on. I ordered their sampler because I could not decide, I had it with turnip greens and mashed potatoes. The greens were very good but the winner winner chicken dinner on my plate were the chicken dumplings, those babies were delish. I actually didn't care much for the atmosphere in the dining area, it was just too crowded but I would probably still visit if I am ever in the area again. Service was fast and super friendly.

This place is okay, I've had better food and actually prefer my home cooking, even though I'm not that impressive in the kitchen. I thought the food was served looking kind of like cafeteria food, but then again I'm used to fine dining in San Diego where plating is just as important as the taste. I got the sampler with chicken and dumplings and meatloaf. The chicken and dumplings were not impressive. Very very bland and the chicken was extremely chewy. Yet... The meatloaf was BOMB! If I were to go back, I would just get a huge thing of meatloaf. Bonus: each entree comes with 3 sides....the menu actually says that your meal comes with three vegetables. That should be changed to SIDES, because I've never seen Mac and cheese placed in a vegetable category....ever. The Mac and cheese was good, just simple. It's hard to screw up cheese and noodles. The seasonal vegetables were good, very fresh. The mashed potatoes had zero seasoning. Pass on those. Biscuits were BOMB! Cornbread sucked. Also, our server was scary. I've never seen someone with such a freaky fake smile. It's like that smile you would make after you just had a ton of Botox done. Or similar to the smile the runner up of Miss America makes when she isn't crowned the winner. I was getting uncomfortable making eye contact with her. Interesting adventure. Especially with the dead animals and guns hung on the wall. ....I definitely am not in California anymore. Hahaha

Not blown away but everything was as to be expected. Food was very good and the service was great but O I just remembered on the way out I was rudely cut in front of almost ran over by two waitresses who were off shift with big drinks in their hand. Not at once I mean one walked in front of me and I took a few more steps and then another came barreling through, without even an excuse me or sorry.

Not enough can be said about how good the food is here! I am well known to shy away from chain restaurants but this "Chain" is well worth the drive from anywhere. I get the "Country fried steak" every time and am never disappointed. The service, food and prices are all great. Can't wait for my next trip out that way!

Scrambled eggs were cold. Chicken fried steak a bit chewy but overall the food was delish. Fried apples and apple cider were on point. Loved the gift shop. Left with a gift basket and vintage candy. Definitely better than an IHOP or Denny's.

It's not all it's cracked up to be. First of all I was here for breakfast, menu was lacking. Not much to choose from. I think we would have been better off holding off for IHOP. Sometimes it's best to go for what you know.

I'm rating this a five star mostly based upon the amazing service we received. I believe that I've never been to a Cracker Barrel but I was pleasantly surprised. Order the blueberry pancakes...they're a very different type of batter but crisp and delicious and huge (I wish that I had taken a picture...I will next time I go there). The over 'very easy' eggs were cooked to perfection and very few cooks know how to do that. Nicole was our server and I can't remember when I've had such superb service...even at high end restaurants (where sometimes you're ill treated). This little gal came back to our table throughout our breakfast making sure that we had everything we needed without ever being a bother or interrupting and on top of that she was so friendly, courteous, and sweet. I gave her a large tip and then realized my friend had tipped her as well. She deserved all of it! Thank you. Everyone we encountered in the restaurant and little shop were also very friendly and welcoming.
(5)
Reena D.
Friendly, attentive service. Prices are decent, even cheaper than IHOP/ Denny's in some cases. Enjoyed the chicken fried steak, hash brown casserole, fried apples and breakfast sampler plate. Lunch was good too, have no tried the dinners. Overall a good place. Staff is welcoming there, the atmosphere is not stale like many chain restaurants. I'd recommend it over Penny's Diner or any IHOP style restaurant.

So we're on our way home from Texas back to California and we decided to stop and eat here right before we cross over to the California side. The whole time we were in Texas my wife kept saying she wanted to eat here because it's a well known place and she's heard good things about it. I'm not going to describe all of our meals, but all four were awful. Bread was soggy on the bottom of my wifes sandwich, my sausage was a hockey puck along with both of the patties on my kids burgers. Was definitely the worst meal I have ever had. It's actually funny cause I couldn't believe it.

Although we were seated almost immediately, and our server was very nice, we left feeling frustrated and disappointed. On our way home from a trip to San Diego, we stopped for what we expected would be a nice dinner, and my husband's first time to the restaurant (I'm a big fan). After waiting for nearly an hour, waiting for our food, I had to call the manager over and ask what was going on. our order came out a short time after, but the entire order was messed up. We asked for it to be boxed up so that we could leave, the manager offered to give us "free desserts". We declined. We just wanted to leave. The manager never again came out to address us, instead he stood in the kitchen, where I could still see him, and sent the server over to tell us that the meal would be on the house. The girls there including our server were very sweet and very apologetic, at that point demonstrated a sense of urgency that the manager (and the cooks apparently) definitely lacked. Overall never going back.

Good comfort food with home style cooking, but kind of a long drive from San Diego. Had the roast beef dinner and it comes with three sides. Plus you get a biscuit or cornbread. Prices are decent and the amount of food you receive is a very good sized portion. If you like fried chicken their various dinners are really good. Wish that they had Cracker Barrel in California. Staff are very friendly and the gift store has lots of cool items. Plus having all of the rocking chairs out front is nice if you have to wait.

Probably my worst Cracker Barrel experience ever and I have stopped in many from Southern Cali to Utah to Montana. We were there around 330pm on March 25. The older mexican lady who served us was rude and impatient. The food took over 35 minutes to arrive and it was horrible, everything looked and tasted old and stale, portions were very small. The grilled catfish sandwich was mushy and the tarter sauce was greasy. The meatloaf and hash brown casserole was dry and NOT FRESH. The cornbeef sandwich was stale and puny. The server never smiled until she brought the check. BAD JOB CRACKER BARREL YUMA! You give Cracker Barrel a bad name.

Love this place, especially their buttermilk pancakes - absolutely delicious!! Their hash brown casserole is amazing too!! The portions are big and delicious! Definitely give this place a try. Their customer service is great, too! I wish they had one in San Diego.

LOCATION & PARKING: It was a central location. Plenty of private parking. SERVICE. The hostess sat us immediately. Paul was our food server, we were very pleased with him. He went above and beyond to fill out needs regarding ordering food and extra requests. QUALITY: Happy with the quality of the food. The sausage had a hickory smoked flavor. Brought us extra gravy at no cost. PRODUCT / FOOD: Coffee, biscuits, gravy, sausage, eggs, and grits. CONCLUSION: We would definitely come for breakfast again!

The food is okay, as long as you don't come from a family that actually cooks southwest American comfort food... Unfortunately I do come from a family of excellent cooks that special in comfort food. So to me, it's about Denny's quality food for a more expensive price... We came through here on the way to Phoenix from San Diego and were rather disappointed with the quality and the service. A few waitresses were rushing around while others stood on the floor chit chatting, and even tho we got our food pretty quickly (French toast breakfast and eggs and biscuits), it was lukewarm when it came out and our bacon was severely undercooked, considering we ordered it extra crispy. We sent the bacon back, and didn't get it till our waitress came back with the check about ten minutes later, at which point we reminded her about it and another ten minutes or so passed by the time we got it... At which point it was burned black in places and lukewarm. He waitress was nice, just very rushed and unfocused. The knick knacks are cool but also overpriced. Might give it another chance on the way home, we'll see.

Our usual reaction to a Cracker Barrel meal is "oh soo good". Today's meal was just awful. Although the manager comped us one of the two meals, we'll probably not be eating there for a while. We had been anticipating the chicken and dumplings for hours. The dumplings were gummy and firm, the gravy like paste, and the green beans so beat up they had to be the bottom of the pot. The manager said we got the last of the dumplings made at 9am...this was 4pm. His smart Alec answer was " if you'd been 15 minutes later you could've had the new batch. ". Lordy me, why not at least warn the customer if that's the case. Hope he had a stomach ache like we did. It would serve him right.

This location doesn't try at all. As the server brought out my companions dinner, she told me that what I ordered was out and asked if I wanted to order something different. By the time my food arrived my friends had finished. All of them said that their food varied from "a little off" to almost disgusting. Plus my food was under cooked and inedible. None of us will be returning to this restaurant.

I LOVE CRACKER BARREL! They're inexpensive and you get A LOT for what little amount you pay. I have tried something different every single time I have been, and everything has been delicious. Great atmosphere when you walk in through the nifty gift store-- staff is friendly also!

Can I give a negative star rating? Disgusting. Bland. Grimy. Poor service. And I am now on day three of horrendous food poisoning. The upside is that I do not need a new year's cleanse or weight loss diet after eating here.

Cracker Barrel is my favorite place to go whenever I'm on a road trip, so stopping at the Yuma branch was a must for me and my wife. Ufortunately, this Cracker Barrel branch just wasn't up to snuff. Nonetheless, the food was good enough to keep it at 3-stars. Store: The store here didn't seem to have as good a selection of kitschy, country stuff as most, but they still had all the necessary stuff like Cracker Barrel exclusive CDs and candy for the road. Service: This is where Cracker Barrel usually excels, but the service was slow. My wife had to go to another table to get some ketchup because our server went AWOL. I don't think we got refills on our drinks until we were about to leave. Even at an inexpensive, chain restaurant this level of service is not good. Food: - My wife had the BLT. Her sandwich was great with very good bacon (cooked just right, not too fatty), but her fries were luke warm as if her lunch had been plated and then sat on the counter while they waited for the cook to make my lunch. - I had the Country Dinner Plate With Grilled Catfish. This is one of my Cracker Barrel regulars and as my two "vegetables" I chose the hashbrown casserole and fried potatoes (don't tell my mom). The food tasted great, but the plating was awful. It looked like the cook had just slopped everything on the plate with an ice cream scooper. If I had never been before, it would have been completely unappetizing, but I knew that it would tast great so I was ok with it. I don't expect James Beard award winning plating here, but a minimal effort would be nice. Tip: As I often do, I open the biscuits (light and buttery so you don't need to add any butter) and put some fried apples on them. It makes them taste like little apple pies. Yum-O!

Usually I think it's hard to make a bad breakfast. I had to add hot sauce to everything just to give it some taste. The bacon and ham are good. Everything else came out cold or undercooked. I won't go here again.

My fiancee and I went here with 2 friends while I visited him in Yuma. The food was disgusting and actually made my stomach hurt after I ate it. I felt sick. The apple juice wasn't tasty at all and I had their chicken-fried steak and it was covered in so much white sauce that it was slick and wet and gross going down my throat. The ambiance of the place is very interesting, sort of western. I enjoyed the fact that they served grits, but it tasted soggy and disgusting, like it came from a package. I was just not impressed by the food they served.

Went here the other day with friends from out of town. I tried CB in 2008 in Des Moines Ia. And was disappointed with the food then but since my friends wanted to eat here so I gave it another try. I think the cook slept thru the Cobb salad class. Mine came with 2strips of ham, 3cubes of mystery poultry, a cube of yellow ( Colby) cheese and a bunch of iceburg lettuce topped with ranch dressing. Oh there was a grape tomato. My friends ordered the codfish special came with greese gravy yuchh! I ordered a lemonade, asked the waitperson 3 times to bring it but never got it same with my friend never got their rolls nor drinks. Never again will I stop at CB

Love cracker barrel, too bad this is the closest one to me from California. Service was great, food was great. Store was clean and nice. Cashiers were unfriendly.

Nice family type chain that serves good food and has a cute little shop attached. My family decided I needed to try a Cracker Barrel as I had never been to one until this location in Yuma. Very cool place. Reminds me of a place generations of a family would go. There were games on the table after we were seated and the menu was pretty extensive. I went with the brisket, which was a little more like bacon, but it had a good flavor. Probably won't get it again though. We also go an order of fried catfish which was great. Cornmeal breading at it's best, well at least for the Southwest. I'd definitely get that again. We also got an order of the the hash brown casserole which was delicious. Creamy, and flavorful. The spiced apples were quite tasty as well with just the right amount of cinnamon. We went to the shop afterward and I was happy to see they support the Wounded Warrior foundation, so I picked up a shirt. Overall, this is a great place for families and those of us that like to eat comfort food. Give this place a try.

Not my favorite location (the ones in the southeast are obviously better) but I make a point to visit when in Yuma. Maybe its the lack of 'real' southern hospitality, or perhaps that all the employees were speaking Spanish (actually, those two are probably the same thing...) but it just is not as cozy as other locations. Usually guests are welcomed with a smile, yes ma'ad/sir'd, treated as family members (the ones you actually like!) but that was not the vibe during my recent visit. The server was okay, though he did bring the wrong eggs (scrambled instead of medium) and he never came back after dropping off the bill. I had to flag him down after 10 minutes of waiting for a box. But he did send me with syrup for my pancakes which was awesome. The country store is my favorite indulgence. But the pathways were a little too narrow and obnoxious people were blocking the way so it was difficult to get around. And when I went to pay, the cashier seemed put out that she had to make change for my large bill. So, overall, I left a little disappointed in my visit, that I had been looking forward to since last year. :(

I much prefer Cracker Barrel for breakfast than for any other meal. Their country gravy is delicious, and so is their chicken fried chicken, but I find all their dinner options either too bland or too salty.

I love Cracker Barrel, but their biscuits were a little on the dry side at this location. I had to drown my breakfast in the gravy (which is always very good anyways). The service was great as usual. I just wish their biscuits weren't as dry this day.

I have to say CB is a great place for a good hearty breakfast. You definitely will not leave here hungry. For starters, I must give credit to the service. I've been here twice and they never let me down. Never had an empty cup of coffee and any drink for that matter. The food seasoned properly and everything was nice and warm as it should be. I am glad there is one in town.

Why in God's name does this chain get such high marks from folks? Driving to Phoenix for a wedding, had my folks along and it is the highlight of their day to stop at any of the Cracker Barrel's wherever they happen to be visiting. The best part of the Cracker Barrel experience is the minefield of a 'country store' that you must walk through to and from your table. All kinds of Americana, tons of old fashioned candies, candles, toys, you name it, you'll find it there. Clean restrooms, customer service can be hit and miss, sometimes friendly or sometimes like the staff just came to work on the short bus. Slow and unfriendly but dammit, we give people jobs!.....yikes. The place is decorated in vintage and vintage looking farm tools, signs, tschotskes, chingaderas (whatever you want to call it) and every one of these restaurants has a huge fireplace, front and center. The food....is exactly the same in all the restaurants....simple, bland, unoffensive, sort of like a hillbilly, high end Denny's but not as greasy. All kinds of country style food but get this, they don't make omelets...weird right? My sister swears by the blueberry nut pancakes but they are just that, some Bisquick pancakes with random blueberry and nut pieces...plates come to you unadorned and rather plain looking. Barely a two star and that was just for the experience, no way is this a 5 star....IMHO of course.

Great food at good prices. If you want a lot of food for not that much money this is the place to go. You can't beat their country style food or their breakfast. A must if you like good food.

I wasn't too impressed with the food or the service. The server made an excuse that he had a large section to tend to...I counted 4 tables. I waited 10 minutes for him to bring my drink to me and it took him another 10 minutes to come back and take my order. 5 minutes after that, my food came out... My food was OK at best.

On my way home from Tuscon, we stopped at the Cracker Barrel in Yuma for lunch. Since it was my first time having lunch at the Cracker Barrel, I decided on a meatloaf sandwich. It came with either fries or a cup of soup. I decided to go with the chicken noodle soup- delicious. The meatloaf sandwich was yummy, next time I would tell them to hold the mayo. Other then that my sandwich was yummy- I would definitely order it again. Service was great, it was not crowded at all. The store here is smaller than others but still fun!

Cracker Barrel, oh how I wanted to like you. I was told to come here while on a business trip to wonderfully warm Arizona by multiple people and not only did I dine here once, but twice. When I first walked in I was a bit confused as it looked like a gift shop instead of a restaurant but as I traveled a little further I saw that the dining area was just on the other side. Since I was all alone, I was able to grab a table and order my drink. After looking over the menu I ordered the Chicken and Dumplins (topped with gravy) with Mac & cheese, okra, and fries. I was pretty hungry so I was excited to scarf this sucker down! When my food arrived I had to try the okra first since I heard it was a crowd favorite and let's just say it's an acquired taste. Next I tried the dumplins since my buddy referred to them as "ORGASMIC", and not only was the gravy very bland, the dumplins tasted undercooked or possibly over cooked. I couldn't really tell since the main thing I could taste was the pound of gravy on my plate. I mined for some chicken in my pile gravy but could only find a few small chopped pieces. You can't completely screw up mac & cheese or fries so I finished those and left the rest on the plate. I left feeling... empty. I spoke with my friend and through much back and forth in my mind, I decided to give them one more shot the next morning before I left for home. Once again I was able to get a table without a wait (even though it was packed) because I am FOREVER ALONE. I ordered pancakes with a side of eggs and sausage patties, easy right? I would give their breakfast 3.5 stars while the lunch earned a solid 1. Either way, I can't say (if I'm back in Yuma) I will go back.. unless someone else wants to treat me but I'd try to suggest going elsewhere. Also, quick note, the staff were extremely friendly and did a great job. Some work just needs to be done in the kitchen.

My favorite place to go in Yuma for hometown cooking/comfort food. Wonderful food at a great price for breakfast, lunch, & dinner. I love checking out all the pictures on the wall and for those who get bored easily, they have some peg game on the tables. I also enjoy browsing through the store at the entrance of the restaurant. They have apple flavored everything & all kinds of old school candies & toys that will take you back to childhood. They sell old school glass bottled drinks as well as homemade fudge. It's the kind of place that just warms the soul :)

I've been a Cracker Barrel fan for years - I love southern food. Service is usually good despite always being busy, food is always real southern cooking. I live in San Diego and visit the one in Yuma when we are there. (I wouldn't drive 2 hours just for Cracker Barrel, but do enjoy going when I come across one). Actually, that would be my only complaint - none in San Diego!!

So I came with some friends for one of my friends birthdays about a week ago. This is my first time here and probably going to be my last. My friend was raving about how great this place was and I might have built it up too much in my head. I was expecting it to be extraordinary. It wasn't. And definitely not worth the 2+ hour car ride here (drove from San Diego). The parking here is pretty great. There was plenty when we got here. And this place was about half full when we went. The outside look interesting to me. The edge of the roof was spraying water mist. And they had a lot of rockers chairs outside for you to sit on. It was a hot day so we didn't do that. When you first walk in, you would notice a store. This was new to me But if you go past it, there is the restaurant. The design of the place made it look like it was set 100 years ago. It was interesting. The service here was great. Our waitress, Heather, was very nice and got our orders out right away. There was a huge selection of food to choose from in the menu. I tried 2 entrees. The Chicken and Dumpling platter, and the Campfire Beef. The Chicken and Dumpling wasn't that great. It tasted bland and the dumpling was kind of like breadish. I don't know how to explain that. The chicken had no flavor but it was tender. Doesn't really save it though. The Campfire Beef was great however. The potatoes were perfect and soft. Carrots were alright, I was never a fan of it thought. Tomatoes were alright. the corn on the cob was pretty good. The pieces of beef was really good. Very soft and tender and full of flavor. Overall, I wouldn't come again. Mostly because it's a long drive for me. But if you go, I would suggest not getting the Chicken and Dumpling Platter. Campfire Beef is great though. Looks nothing like it's picture though.

I used to go to Cracker barrel all the time when I was in school on the East coast, but since moving out West, there is almost no such thing! I have to drive 130 miles to this Cracker barrel to get my fix. And I do! A bunch of friends and I make the pilgrimage out to Yuma a few times a year, just to eat at Cracker barrel. This location has never disappointed us, and the food is always yummy! (why else would we drive this far?!) If you've never had it, GO! If you have, then you know! I highly recommend Cracker barrel to anyone who is a fan of southern/country cooking. It's not the healthiest, but it's damn good!

All three of my pancakes burnt on one side. Friend ordered granola pancakes but they gave him regular ones. He said it was ok, and they gave him a cup of granola. Granola pancakes means granola in the pancakes... I can't believe they gave him granola to make up for the wrong order.

The best part about Cracker Barrel is the tiny store you walk through to get to the actual restaurant. It has so much cool stuff. I could wander around in there for hours. As for the restaurant, it's not too bad. Good food but a bit on the pricey side. The chicken and dumplings are delicious. I remember having them there as a child. Our waiter was nervous as it was his first day on the job. He was very friendly and got us anything we wanted without hesitation. The manager came out and asked us how everything was and how our server was doing. We put in a good word for him. Overall, this is a fun place to visit once in a while.

This is a review for all Cracker Barrels, not this one specifically. There's something about Cracker Barrel that makes a road trip complete. They're always close to the freeway and it's the closest thing to a "home-cooked" meal for a chain restaurant. Sure, they probably have huge tubs of food ready to be served (maybe this is why I get my meal 3 minutes after ordering it), but I still enjoy it regardless. I love their chicken and rice plate and their meatloaf. The desserts are usually good, like their strawberry ice box cake and coca cola chocolate cake. And instead of biscuits and cornbread, I ask for grilled sourdough (mmmm... buttery). For some reason, Cracker Barrel attracts senior citizens like moths to a flame. But if you can deal with a retirement home setting, you'll probably like your meal.

(Sigh). I realize that my love affair with Cracker Barrel is finally over. Don't get me wrong. I loved the one in Williamsburg, VA. But the farther away we got from that area, it seemed to me that the flavor of the food ain't there. How can that be possible, you might ask. The menu is the same wherever you go. BUT you see, I also remember that the water in the east coast tasted much better than the water down here in Yuma. So that could account for the flavor difference, which is worlds apart. Anyway, that's my theory. It's the water. Nowadays, I go there if I am missing the biscuits n' gravy. They're still the best in my book. Top those biscuits with apple butter, and it hits a spot. The eggs, the meat---what can I say? How can one go wrong on those? CB's is no different, though. Nothing special there. Tried lunch there, too. Simply put, I'm sticking to breakfast. Which I can eat there anytime. I'm not one for kitschy stuff, but I admit, I do look at the candy selections. My kids love the honey straws. I remember the Williamsburg branch had a bigger country store attached to the restaurant, so it's unfair of me to compare Yuma's to that. Also, I used to be able to find Burt's Bees only here. But, there's Target and Walgreens for that now. So, in a nutshell, I am moving on, Cracker Barrel, and in search of the next best country store. Well, that's what road trips are for.

Most people aren't passing thru Yuma for good food. Really, they're doing just that; passing through. UNLESS you're like me and you made a point to actually STOP in Yuma and eat at the Cracker Barell. How there are no Cracker Barrel locations in California baffles me; I heard some talk about colflicting with the cheese co. cracker barrel? Stupid... Anyways, Cracker Barrel is delicious home cooking. DELICIOUS. I was in Yuma less than 24 hours and I ate here twice. The first time I had fried catfish with fried okra and mashed potatoes.... The second visit delivered chicken fingers, corn and mashed potatoes to my belly. Cracker Barrel, if you're reading this, know this one thing: my tummy was beyond satisfied. And it is forever thankful. :) I also hope you forgive me for my multiple "barrel" mispellings.

Reminds me of eating dinner at my late grandma's house. Huge portions, inexpensive and totally unhealthy comfort food!! I like that their "vegetable sides" include things like mac and cheese, which last I checked wasn't a veggie but who cares, it's delish! I'm glad that there are no Cracker Barrels nowhere near my home state of Washington but when I'm visiting my boyfriend in Yuma we always make at least one visit there.

Pro: Decor, candy shop, lollipop, birth year info cards (yes, you are old), breakfast all day, yummy drinks, cheap AZ price. Con: Smoking in AZ, old people, could be crowded, getting through the shop could be a challange, abusive waitress. In AZ, why oh why!? Use to go to Yuma quite a bit for in-law functions (Thanksgiving), my gf/wife and I go there to hide from the crazy in-laws and get great comfort food. Yes, you could die from a heart failure, but damn it, you will die happy. Try the dumplings and pie, it's simple and pure, nothing to steer you away from the country dining experience. Need this place in CA, hate to go to a red state for good bumpkin food, but then again....

My wife ordered the country ham, which she says tasted like nothing. She may as well have been eating napkins. The same goes for the cornbread. In fact, you would have to have really sharp taste buds to distinguish the cornbread, the ham and the napkin from each other. I don't recommend taking your wife here because you'll never hear the end of how much she hates it.

Cracker Barrel, YES!!! I am all about comfort food, especially when I'm in goddamn Yuma, AZ (what else is there to do but eat, honestly?). I came here a few weeks ago and I was absolutely starving after sitting in traffic for 5 hours (coming from LA). I was super hungry so I ordered the rib eye steak with mac & cheese and dumplins. Everything was awesome! I ordered the steak rare, the mac & cheese was tasty, and the dumplins....ohhhh god the dumplins were ORGASMIC. I never felt happier from skyrocketing my cholesterol level from 140 to OVER 9,000!!! I came back 5 hours later when I was done with work. It was about 9:30 pm and I was surprised to find that they still serve breakfast (I'm a huge breakfast fan so this was a major plus in my book). So I ordered this delectable skillet with scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, country gravy, love, and pure 100% awesomeness. It was to die for (quite literally, I contracted cancer, diabetes, and had heart failure after eating all of it). Topped with a bowl of clam chowder for desert and I was set for a 4 hour drive back to LA. Fun times. --------------------------------------------------Â------------------------------------- 5/10/09 Update: Went back to Yuma and came here three days in a row last week. Here are more tasty things I can recommend (in order): 1. Pancakes. Those were some good ass pancakes - moist, held syrup in well, fluffy, delightful. I regret only ordering the stack of 3. 2. Hash brown casserole. I want to have kids with that hot piece of potato. 3. Biscuits. Super fluffy, throw in some butter & jam - it's like heaven in my mouth. 4. Bacon cheeseburger. Really thick bacon. I dig it.

My husband and I stopped here about 7 or 8 one evening, just the two of us. The restaurant wasn't even half full, and I could see that our server had maybe 3 other tables, all of which only had one or two people, but she still took a long time to get us anything. We were sitting for more than ten minutes before she took our drink order and it took another ten minutes for our drinks to arrive. She then wandered off to another customer's table to set down his check before coming back to take our order, an event that took a full five minutes despite the other table being ten feet away. We ordered, the only special thing we asked for was no cheese on my husband's sandwich, of course it came with cheese any way. The food was bland, the fries and the fried chicken on my husband's sandwich looked and tasted like they came out of a grocery store freezer bag. I had the chicken and dumplings with mashed potatoes. The chicken and gravy was completely bland, something you would serve an invalid. The dumplings were like glue. The mashed potatoes were okay, but the gravy on them had a definite skin, which indicated to me that the plate had been sitting for several minutes before being served. The homemade biscuits had salt dusted over the tops, who does that? The corn bread biscuit was awful. Neither of us finished our meals despite being hungry. Our check took another ten minutes to arrive. Maybe our meal was an aberration, their parking lot is always packed at lunchtime, but we live in the area and will not be returning. If you're looking for somewhere in Yuma to eat, go to Mi Rancho.

Good comfort food, fun place to shop (lots of old-time candy, knick-knacks, some toys/games), and friendly customer service. Be sure to have breakfast...or if you're there for lunch/dinner, try the Mac & Cheese and Fried Okra as side dishes to whatever meal you're having. Knocked off two stars for the crowd (popular joint). Had to wait a bit for a table, long line to pay for meal, and crowded in store.

5 stars for being a Cracker Barrel on the California border. My wife will probably make me drive from San Diego next time she has a craving for yummy southern grease. Stick with the classics southern dishes and you'll be happy. Surprisingly not expensive for a road stop.

The closest Cracker Barrel to California. We stopped here while in Yuma. The food was fine, though my sandwich was a little small. Our waitress was new, and still working out the kinks, so I wont hold her awkward behavior against here.

This was my first time to a Cracker Barrel, on a business trip to Yuma - but that is a story for another time. The one really positive thing I have to say is that the service was very friendly. The food was just OK. Quite adequte, but nothing special. Even though they tout that dumplings and gravies are made by hand, most things didnt taste any better than something out of a can/jar. Overall I would say this was a fine place to eat dinner and then mostly forget about it the next day. P.S. if you aren't looking for a "heavy" meal, you should go somewhere else.

This was my first time experiencing the Cracker Barrel. When the bro-in-law made the suggestion to have the first breakfast of the East Coast road trip at the CB - I didn't know what to expect. I pictured.....vintage, ol'barn decor, real woody, hearty meal....and it shuuurrrr was :) But that was a good thing. What's super cute is you walk into the lil shop before the dining room. It's full of lil nick nack items and old country store candy. Being the lil souvenir whore I am I picked up a mini rug checker set and an old time order bell, I know WTF? But I always find myself buying stuff I do not see that often. Why the hubs doesn't stop me, I don't know...it's an addicition. I probably would have enjoyed the CB more had we been there for lunch or dinner. An American Breakfast menu is pretty much the same wherever you go, eggs....how do you want them cooked? Do you want bacon, sausage or ham. You want buscuit or toast, white or wheat....you want the grits....hold on GRITS? k that was a new one for me. So I had to get the grits. I was excited for a hott minute then after tasting - it was similar to the malt o meal my mom used to feed me as a child. My thumbs up for the CB goes to atmosphere vs. food. The portion of my Pork Chop and eggs was more on the slim side than I had expected. You gotta love the ol'country feel. I soooooo wanted to take home a rocking chair - there are tons of rocking chairs lined on the porch of the entryway. When we arrived, I was sitting out there for a good minute or two and thought, I need one!!! Good thing our car was PACKED! so I'll have to pick one up the next time. oh, btw....every place we drove through on the highway - had a Cracker Barrel. But sorry Californians...you are out of luck. You must get out of the state to try one.

I am a sucker for this place. Ever time I drive back from Arizona to San Diego I stop here. Good Ol' home cookin. The food is generally yummy. I will say if you are looking for a quick stop do not stop. This place is notoriously slow. I have been there with only a few people and it still takes an hour. But if you are looking for a good hour break this is the place for you. The "Stacy Special" usually includes the meatloaf, fried okra, baby carrots and mac & Cheese. Yes, I usually have to stop and get my heart unclogged on my way home. Always a good meal ... topped off with some sweet tea. This trip was a bit unique ... I strayed off the beaten path and got the fried chicken. It was really, really good and I was honestly suprised. I was expecting some KFC chicken but this was all white meat and 2 breasts. I took one home and had it the next night for dinner.

I love Cracker Barrel and having lived in CA for 3 years and now Hawaii, I was happy to see one in Yuma on my last visit. In my opinion, you can never go wrong here. The place was clean and well maintained, the gift shop well stocked with beautiful displays and the food was good ol country cooking. I love evrything I ever had there, but especially enjoy the fried apples, hashbrown cassarole, biscuits and catfish. I wish they would move over and few hundrends mils and put at least one in California!

Ah, Cracker Barrel... I am grew up in GA so it's a bit refreshing to see a familiar entity out here in Yuma. Yes, I know it's a chain... but if it's good then I can't argue with that. LOCATION: Across the street from Yuma Palms Mall. Down the street from Penny's Diner. In the Arc Center shopping center/ hotel complex. Hidden from view driving on 16th St so you have to look for it. ATMOSPHERE: Busy on a Sunday morning brunch time. I love that they have the little shop at the entrance of the restaurant for waits, which we had to wait 5 minutes. Not bad at all. Eclectic decor with all kinds of random signs and trinkets reminiscent of the South. FOOD: Good old Southern food.... fattening but so good once in awhile.. Wide selection of traditional Southern items. 1. Uncle Herschel's Favorite which includes grits, 2 biscuits with gravy, choice of meat which I chose grilled catfish (but you can have fried if you choose so). Choice of either fried apples or hashbrown casserole, which I chose the latter. Biscuits were awesome so rich and thick. The hashbrown casserole just tasted like cheesy rice. Not too impressed. Catfish was good. Overall, good amount of food and yummy. I approve. 2. Orange cream soda - not sugar free and high calorie with 260 per bottle. I took a sip and it was yummy. SHOP: Unique "old timey" stuff like candy products you wouldn't find in your typical grocery store. Food products like jams, jellies, spreads. They had a special on pumpkin spread which you can mix with cream cheese. Samples were given out and it tasted like pumpkin cheesecake. Yummy! Homemade looking houseware and decorative items that are sooo tacky to put in your own home but cool to look at. Some bath and body products like Burt's Bees. SERVICE: Great. No complaints here. Not too slow either even though it was super busy. PRICES: Entrees for breakfast ranging $7-8 with a good amount of food. Definitely correlates with quality and quantity. PARKING: Parking lot was packed but we found a space no problem. CONCLUSION: Great classic Southern food if you are willing to pay with the proper calorie expenditure afterwards. I would definitely come again especially for biscuits!

Fast and Friendly service and great food. Every time I drive through AZ I have to stop at this particular one. I do not recommend going around 11 to 1 when they have there blue hair rush. 40 minute wait is not my ideal. If you eat red meat then the chicken fried steak is delish. They also have a low carb menu which I was surprised to see especially for a comfort food place. I don't eat meat anymore and was surprised that they had a great selection of salads and healthy eats. The store is cute and filled with items that are hard to find or remind you of when you were young. The overall experience is amazing and you will not find a better place to eat that isn't cookie cutter.

I have never had a worse meal. Everything was cold and rubbery. Disgusting. I felt horrible all day after waiting for an hour to go to this crappy place. BLECK!!!!!

My family loves cracker barrel. My kids are very entertained by the game on the table and service is almost always great. I only do breakfast here, but oh what a breakfast. Makes me feel like mom was over doing some cooking.

I don't get the hype. I think this food is blech. I mean, I can cook better eggs, hash browns and "fixin's" drunk and blind folded. Why are people so crazy about this place? I tried the mac and cheese, it was not bad. Again, I can make it better myself. I wouldn't waste my money at this place again. One good thing; the decor is hilarious and I liked the sick shop.

With relatives in Tucson, I've often found myself passing through Yuma. One place we stop at least every trip to Arizona is Cracker Barrel, usually for breakfast. Their breakfast selection is plentiful. Portions are above average. I think their pancakes and french toast are great. I think the silverware might be the only metal objects in the entire place. There's definitely a country feel here. I like the country store filled with all kinds of oddities that all seem like must-haves.

We found ourselves out in Yuma again, staying over night at the Wingate so of course dinner had to be at Cracker Barrel. Between us we had the rib eye steak dinner, roast beef dinner and buttermilk fried shrimp & hush puppies along with sides of dumplings, turnip greens, green beans, fried okra, hashbrown casserole and a house salad. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and everything else was quite tasty. the hush pups were so good, not overcooked and dry like most places serve them. The shrimp were surprisingly good, the dumplings were wonderful as always. The fried okra, eh, I think i just don't like okra's slimyness regardless if it's deep fried and dipped in ranch or not. But everything else, the greens, green beans, biscuits, salad, and hashbrown casserole, were all spot on. And the strawberry shortcake was dessert was the perfect ending. Our waitress was on top of things too, always keeping our glasses of sweet tea topped off and was ever so helpful and friendly. We returned the next morning for breakfast because we all needed a good meal with a day of fishing ahead of us and had overslept and missed the free continental breakfast at the hotel. Oh darn. Again there was a plethora of food ordered, french toast, bacon, pancakes slathered in blackberry compote, grits, eggs, country fried steak, hashbrown casserole (again), sourdough wheat toast, biscuits and a side of gravy. The eggs came out cooked perfectly over medium, which is no small feat. Hardly anyone seems to be able to get the white fully cooked with the yolk still runny, but good ol' Cracker Barrel delivered. Nobody left there unsatisfied or unhappy, that' for damn sure. And again the service was top notch. Our waitress, as busy as she was on a Sunday morning, managed to keep the coffee cups and sweet tea glasses full and even left a pitcher of tea for the table, which was greatly appreciated by the camel's of the group. Do they bring these ladies in from the south? Because they seem to have the southern hospitality down pat, along with the drawl. In fact, I almost feel like I should give them an extra star for the stellar service we've received every time we've dined there.

This food is stick-to-your-ribs delicious. I daydream about this place. I met a girl who works in the kitchen there. They really do make everything from scratch, unlike some chains that deliver sauces, etc. from the factory i.e. Olive Garden. They have a daily special that doesn't change, and I always forget to remember what day Turkey and Stuffing day is. Turkey with stuffing and gravy in July! Like the last guy said, DELICIOUS. Also, funny kitschy country store to browse while waiting for your table.

I am so sad there are no Cracker Barrels in California. Every year my boyfriend's family invites us out to Yuma for a week at the river and we ALWAYS go to Cracker Barrel. I love the good southern food and the prices are reasonable too. The candy store in the front is super cute and has a lot of candies and toys that are from the good 'ol days (although if you have kids I can imagine it being a hassle trying to get your kids to leave).

(5)James L.
(3)Joe R.

(1)Jeff K.

(3)David H.
(3)Erin Jo K.
Usually love this restaurant in other towns...however, this location is cold, tasteless food and poor service.
(1)Micheal A.
I drove here all the way from San Diego California, and they did not disappoint me. It's a shame that California has so many issues, that Cracker Barrel won't come to us. And after lunch, I'm sitting outside writing this review rocking in one of their rocking chairs

Crappy Service. Save yourself the trouble and go to one of the other restaurants down at the mall just to the north of this location...
(1)Kristen R.
(3)Anne W.
Some Cracker Barrels are good and some aren't. This one falls into the later category. The service is good. I love to shop the store but the biscuits and the corn bread are dry and hard. I keep trying because friends like going there. I keep trying different items but alas...not good.
(2)Diana N.
(1)Rebecca E.
Good stop before California. Last CB on Hwy 8 before CA state line. Nice store, too. Service is friendly, and I counted no less than 7 Vietnam Vets. A lot of "thank yous" given today. Try the cole slaw.
(5)Carolyn L.
(4)Neachelle N.
(3)Jason S.
(3)Jeremy J.
Great food, great service. My wife and I make it a point to eat here every time we are in Yuma.
(4)Trisha R.
(5)A H.

(4)Jm J.
Great home cooked comfort food. I especially love the turkey dinners ( but available on Thursdays only). Nice relaxing, calm place to unwind.
(5)Corinne F.
Our waitress was a no show..she ignored all of her tables in fact...but the other waitress Randee..was superb. She adopted us and made a special effort to take good care of us. The coleslaw is delish as was my fried fish. The shopping was the big event. The gift shop is always great fun.
(2)Steve S.
(2)Abby W.
(2)DJ P.
Not to bad had the county fried steak. Prices kinda high for what you get. Usually have to ask the waitress for more coffee. Overal is go back.
(3)Mo H.
It looks like an old storage shed threw up onto the walls. Lots of nostalgic paintings and wagon wheels. Almost like it was decorated by the Beverly Hillbillies or June Cleaver.
(4)Alex F.
Always great customer service and great food gotta love this place I always get grandmas breakfast and it's always great the casserole is amazing and the biscuits and gravy as well as te country fried steak is very good
(5)Chloe C.
Shopping and food! Sold. Then I had the food... Definitely sold all over again! Old school delicious home cooking, and why don't we have one in California????
(5)Steven G.
This place is awesome. Every time I pass through, we always stop here. Good food, good service, and good prices.
(5)Sabrina M.
This was our first Cracker Barrel experience. The food was nothing special, your usual diner fare. However, the prices were very inexpensive for a sit down restaurant and the fried apples tasted like apple pie without the crust, very very yummy!
(3)Josh B.
(2)Pecas G.
The food was delicious!, I enjoyed my meal very much, waitress was ok. It was super crowded, one could barely walk in the store, but I still enjoyed looking at all the cool things they sell. I'll definitely visit again.
(5)Josie Y.
(4)Danielle G.
Hahaha
(3)Keneth M.
To salty for me. Not worth my money. I don't know why this place is always busy. But they won't get anymore of my money.
(1)William K.
(3)Kent W.
Always great food. There just ain't nothing better than good ol Southern cookin! Fantastic breakfasts and outstanding supper! Any times a good time for the Barrel!
(5)Jesiah A.
Not enough can be said about how good the food is here! I am well known to shy away from chain restaurants but this "Chain" is well worth the drive from anywhere. I get the "Country fried steak" every time and am never disappointed. The service, food and prices are all great. Can't wait for my next trip out that way!
(5)Gregor H.
Pretty good comfort food. The grilled chicken salad was excelkent. The staff wad mist carung anf helpful. Our car brike down in thier parking lot, yet all they cared aboyt was hrlping us out.
(4)Giselle A.
From my experience I'm rating this a one star. The chicken tastes like rubber and was undercooked ( raw) chicken. They also mixed up my order.
(1)Noelani M.
Scrambled eggs were cold. Chicken fried steak a bit chewy but overall the food was delish. Fried apples and apple cider were on point. Loved the gift shop. Left with a gift basket and vintage candy. Definitely better than an IHOP or Denny's.
(4)Robert C.
Great food. We always stop at Cracker Barrel when we are in the area. We look forward to having chicken and dumplings. It's a good place to eat. Too bad they don't have duck dynasty stuff anymore.
(4)patty p.
It's not all it's cracked up to be. First of all I was here for breakfast, menu was lacking. Not much to choose from. I think we would have been better off holding off for IHOP. Sometimes it's best to go for what you know.
(3)Suki D.
(5)Reena D.
(4)David T.

Service was good but the food was...eh...not worth the price. It was on our drive home to Phoenix from a vacation in San Diego, so I know we won't be going to this location again anyhow.

Typical Cracker Barrel fair.. love it! :)
(4)Mandi C.

(3)Brenda R.

(2)Sherry C.
(2)Ami M.
I LOVE CRACKER BARREL! They're inexpensive and you get A LOT for what little amount you pay. I have tried something different every single time I have been, and everything has been delicious. Great atmosphere when you walk in through the nifty gift store-- staff is friendly also!
(5)L S.

Yum-O!
(3)C. H.
Usually I think it's hard to make a bad breakfast. I had to add hot sauce to everything just to give it some taste. The bacon and ham are good. Everything else came out cold or undercooked. I won't go here again.
(2)Suzan C.
(2)Ti-Michelle C.

(4)Scott P.
(4)Reba C.
(3)Elia J.
I much prefer Cracker Barrel for breakfast than for any other meal. Their country gravy is delicious, and so is their chicken fried chicken, but I find all their dinner options either too bland or too salty.
(4)White R.
I love Cracker Barrel, but their biscuits were a little on the dry side at this location. I had to drown my breakfast in the gravy (which is always very good anyways). The service was great as usual. I just wish their biscuits weren't as dry this day.
(4)Mau V.

(2)Chance M.
Great food at good prices. If you want a lot of food for not that much money this is the place to go. You can't beat their country style food or their breakfast. A must if you like good food.
(4)Tabiji I.
Always fast and friendly. I love the turkey lunch special on Thursdays. Spouse swears by Mamas Pancake Breakfast.
(5)Kenny W.
Not that great, not that great at all. The food was simply not that good. That's really all I can say. There's better places. Even Coco's tastes better.
(2)John M.
(2)Christina D.
(5)Ron K.
Stopped by here on our way back to San Diego from Phoenix. We just love the comfort food and the feel good experience. Wish we had one closer to San Diego.
(4)Eric S.

It's the kind of place that just warms the soul :)

lats see the certans!were falling off tables where dirty ! three out of the four had dirty plates . two dirtys sets of silver where ! and the service sucked

I didn't care for cracker barrel at all; not impressed & I'd rather eat elsewhere.
(2)Dee D.

(4)Cind Y.
All three of my pancakes burnt on one side. Friend ordered granola pancakes but they gave him regular ones. He said it was ok, and they gave him a cup of granola. Granola pancakes means granola in the pancakes... I can't believe they gave him granola to make up for the wrong order.
(2)Cherish G.

(4)Owen C.
Chicken and dumplings!!!
(5)Raj S.
(3)Lanelle D.
This place was awesome!!! I was not let down in the slightest!

(1)Ainokea B.
(3)Aeneas L.
5 stars for being a Cracker Barrel on the California border. My wife will probably make me drive from San Diego next time she has a craving for yummy southern grease. Stick with the classics southern dishes and you'll be happy. Surprisingly not expensive for a road stop.
(5)Richard G.
The closest Cracker Barrel to California. We stopped here while in Yuma. The food was fine, though my sandwich was a little small. Our waitress was new, and still working out the kinks, so I wont hold her awkward behavior against here.
(3)Cassidy W.
(3)chelo a.

Reminds me of Grandma's house. Comforting food, decent portions, nice service, lots of nostalgia.
