Diabetics must resist their temptations when dining at Applebee's. Most of the items on Applebee's menu is either stuffed with sodium or sugar. You must be extra careful and pick low-sugar and low-sodium diet at Applebee's if you are diabetic.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for Diabetics:
If you are starting your meal with appetizers then make sure you skip the Classic Buffalo sauce, Honey BBQ sauce, and sweet Asian Chile sauce on your wings order. It is highly recommended to skip the appetizers if you are dining alone and instead build your appetizer keeping nutrition in check. Among the steaks, you must stay away from the Applebee's Riblets platter as well as Bourbon Street Steak at all costs. Shrimp 'N Parmesan Sirloin is also not recommended. Skip the sandwiches, wraps, and tacos as well. Desserts may be tempting but it is recommended to avoid them at Applebee's for their high sugar content. All the beverages except Iced Teas must be avoided as well to control your sugar intake.
Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure
Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.
Food Suggestions for High Blood Pressure at Applebee's
Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol
If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. So, skip those items at Applebee's.
Food Suggestions to Maintain Cholesterol Level at Applebee's
A group of five to seven people go to this Applebee's EVERY Monday night for burgers/beer/appetizers. Due to the large seating table in the bar area, we sit there. However, as the evening progresses, the rock music gets louder and louder despite the entire bar area is full with Sr. Citizens at 5 p.m. We ask to turn the music down but Needless to say, we must yell across the table to each other by the end of our meal....which by the way, took 2 hrs. From seating to our bill being served. Frustrated! Do not sit in bar area. Fast seating but loud and slow compared to dining area!?

We had an ehhh experience. The mango tea and raspberry tea were very gross. The macaroni and cheese with honey chipotle chicken tenders was good except for the honey chipotle sauce that soaked the macaroni with sweetness, I had wished it wasn't so sweet. My mom requested her steak as medium well and it was completely cooked through, the man behind us ordered his steak done and received rare and the lady across from us had a similar problem.

I've tried all three locations in Yuma - and this is the ONLY one I will go to from now on. Good food. Good service. Tables could be kept up better, but really any restaurant of this style usually has issues with "clammy/sticky" tables. I just ask for a clean up when the waitress comes no biggie. 2 for $20. half off appetizers from 3pm - 6pm and after 9pm everyday. Anyway, no complaints about food so far. If you are thinking applebees in yuma - go to this one.

The customer service sucks here. Like, consistently sucks. But I keep coming back, because it's practically the only restaurant in my neck of the woods that is open late.

Organizing to get new customers was done well. There was a short wait. People fooled for then their table was ready. Kind knowledgable waitress. Very friendly. Food and drinks on the table fast. Would check to see if we needed anything often. Thank you.

Applebee's arguably has one of the best (if not the best) happy hours in Yuma. Everyday from 3-6pm and again at 9pm, they have half-off appetizers and inexpensive drinks. The service is also generally solid. (I've attached pictures of the nachos and chicken wings.)

My company uses a hotel for travel to Yuma right next door so I've been here 8-10 times. I can't express how bad this place is. Bad food, horribly prepared, and the service isn't terrible but it's subpar. Do yourself a favor and go to Da Boys Pizza and Pasta in the same parking lot. 100,000,000,000 times better.

I was not impressed with their Curbside/Carside To Go, The waitress came out without my receipt and did not even know what my total was. She had to go back inside and get my receipt. When I returned to my daughter's house, the item I ordered was not very eye appealing, did not have all the items listed on the menu and was so over spiced with pepper that I couldn't eat it. Would I return to this Applebees....VERY reluctantly or highly unlikely.

One star is being very generous. Very slow service. A table that was seated after us by 10 min got food before us. Both party of two. Food was cold but taste was good. Pub Philly and Burger. Will never go back again and to bad cause it's in our neighborhood.

I've been here a number of times, never wowed. This is the second time I'd been seated in the back area. Then all the staff gathers around in these back two booths, even the manager. They are noisy, talkative, just a lot of added commotion. Last night and the previous visit this happened it wasn't busy in the store so it just seemed rude and unprofessional. The waitress paid plenty of attention to us and was very friendly, the food was okay nothing amazing. The manager walked by us at least 6 times in our visit last night never with a smile or to ask about our visit.

On our way through Yuma, we realized that we were hungry, and looked around for a place to eat. We saw an Applebee's, shrugged, and pulled in. We were pleasantly surprised. We've both been to different Applebee's locations before, and were mostly unimpressed, but this one was better than the norm. Carlos, our server, was really nice. The food we ordered was pretty good (a steak and the Napa chicken). The wait was pretty decent, no complaints there. Overall, we were pleased.

We went on New Years eve and the place was packed. They told us the wait would be 30 min But if we went into the bar it was 1st come 1st served. We lucked out and got a table right away. The service was great. We had planked chicken and it was super. I would go back just to get the chicken again. All together we where in and out within an hour.

This is the second and last time we visit this location. When in route to SD from Phoenix, we found that this was a nice halfway point to stretch and eat. Last time the food was not too great, but our server was nice and we enjoyed the visit. This time, the food was again mediocre but the service was terrible. No one was there to greet us; we stood at the entrance for 10 minutes before anyone came around and sat us. Our serve thereafter was never again around unless we waved him down. He and all the other servers gathered at the table closest to the kitchen where they sat and talked. He was rude and forgot to put in my sons order. It was absolutely terrible. Needless to say, no one was there to bid is farewell or say a simple "thank you." Will never go back.

Went to watch some football at the bar and there were two unoccupied dirty tables and everything else was full. Stood around for a couple minutes waiting for at least one high top to be cleaned since there were people who acknowledged the fact we were waiting but nothing after five minutes we decided to just leave I understand this is just an Applebee's but c'mon that's ridiculous!

I stopped in here on my way from SD to PHX yesterday. The hostess seated us and I went to the men's restroom. The floor around the urinal was sticky and wet, and the smell was so bad that I passed and moved on to a toilet. Both were disgustingly dirty, as was the floor in both stalls. When I got to the lavatories, there were two soap dispensers- both empty. I imagined the cook staff using this restroom and returning to the kitchen with unwashed hands, and returned to my table. I announced my findings and we all left.

I'm a sucker for a good deal & I must admit I'm a huge fan of their 2 for $20 deal. You get an appetizer and two entrees for $20. You'd think that they'd skimp on the quality, taste, or portions but surprisingly they don't. Usually they have this special for a limited time. However, I've noticed it as a permanent addition to their menu, which is a great alternative. For their appetizers I've tried the spinach & artichoke dip, boneless buffalo wings, cheese sticks, and their new spicy queso blanco. All of them are good choices depending on what you're in the mood for. As for entrees my favorite is their steak with baked potato or mash (both great choices) and steamed vegetables. Again, you wouldn't think applebees= awesome steak. However, I've ordered it a dozen times at different locations and it has been consistently tasty! Great seasoning, juicy, and tender. It's crazy that it's coming from Applebees!! I always have leftovers and it still tastes equally as good the second time around. The newest one I've tried is their provolone stuffed meatballs with fettuccine. It's in a creamy tomato sauce and I was pleasantly surprised. In addition to this great deal, they also have great happy hour specials on appetizers and drinks. Went on a Wednesday and they had $2.00 Long Island Ice Teas. They forgot the tea part...lol. But good stuff :) Thursdays they have Apple Martinis for $3.00. My bf drank a bunch of them and blamed it on me :( Sheesh. But apparently they were good! Last reason why I love this place so much...my bf (*sigh* notice a pattern forming already) apparently dropped his wallet under the table after dinner one night. I went back the next day and they found it. After going through it, EVERYTHING was there. I mean ID, credit cards, CASH, everything! It's hard to find honest people nowadays so this place was a breath of fresh air. What a great place. I'm forever loyal!

Oh Yuma... Cannot expect much out of you. I used to like this chain when I was younger... great happy hour deals on drinks and food.... then I grew up and expanded my tastes while Applebee's just seemed to stay on the same subpar level. But I was driving through the area and planned on meeting for dinner with a friend who lives there, her suggestion was here. First impression... just like every other Applebee's. I can deal, I thought. The menu had expanded and changed since last time I visited one of these... I opted for a shrimp wrap with a cup of french onion (I used to be obsessed with it). Food came, the tortilla was the rubbery kind, eww. Soup was okay, the best part of the meal, but the cheese was not melted all the way which was disappointing. Service? While I understand most people who work at these places are either in school, in between jobs, etc... I mean I used to waitress while in school myself. Wow, the service received gives small towns their bad rep for being full of dummies. Please have some brains while you work your mindless job, thanks. Nice, clean bathroom though! And entertaining patrons around us. 2.5 stars for this location.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Bad service...waitress had the personality of a gerbil. Bad kitchen...no quality control, four people and all four orders were messed up, THEN brought 2 of them back wrong AGAIN! Food wasn't even that good. Not much else to choose from in the immediate area, so if you must come here, be prepared to WAIT for your drinks, appetizers, and food and don't have even mediocre expectations on service or food. However, the full comp made it somewhat worthwhile.

About Applebee's
Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak.
