Village Inn is a tough place for diabetics, and you must be extra cautious while ordering food at the Village Inn, especially if you're a diabetic. The food items low in sodium are high in sugar or cholesterol at Village Inn which makes it difficult for diabetics to choose the right food at the diner.

You must also skip the shakes as well as other juices from the beverage menu. Almost all the dinner items on the menu are high in sodium except Grilled Tilapia and 6 oz. Top Sirloin & Toast. 2 Egg Low-Cholesterol Egg Substitute Omelette with Part-Skim Mozzarella
If you are concerned about high blood pressure, then you must try food items from the kid's menu at Village Inn as most food items on their regular menu are high in sodium. Foods to Avoid at Village Inn for High Blood Pressure
Avoid Sausage Links & Eggs, Sausage Patties & Eggs, Biscuit & Gravy with Eggs, 6 oz. Top Sirloin Eggs, Ham Steak & Eggs, Egg Benedict, and Country Benedict from Village Inn's breakfast menu. It is also recommended to skip the Skillet options at Village Inn for its high sodium content. Among the omelets, avoid Denver Omelette, Country Music Star Omelette, and French Spinach & Bacon Omelette. You must also skip Sandwiches and All-World Double Cheeseburger every time you visit Village Inn.

You can try the salad items, juices, or light breakfast items from the menu to keep the cholesterol in check. You can also try food from the kid's menu to ensure that you consume fewer calories than usual.
Foods to Avoid at Village Inn for High Cholesterol

Almost everything on the dinner menu is also high in cholesterol and must be avoided. Also, skip shakes at Village Inn.
Food Suggestions to Maintain Cholesterol Level at Village Inn
We've eaten at several Village Inns before so we knew what we were getting into before we went in or so we thought. We had a really bad time there and won't be going back to this particular one again. We went on a Thursday evening after 7 pm, which in Tucson is after the main dinner rush. We could see that they had been busy because there were several tables waiting to be cleaned and the waitresses were still running around helping diners. The host, Tom, was checking out a customer when we walked in. He did acknowledge us after finishing with them and then took our name to put on the seating waiting list although there was no one else waiting. We couldn't figure out why he just didn't seat us then, but we didn't say anything. It went downhill from there. Several groups of customers came up to be checked out and the phone rang with a customer who we could tell was ordering a dinner to go. He handled all of them before he decided to tell one of the waitresses to seat us. And no, none of the tables we could see had been cleaned up during this time. Our waitress was very friendly and if they had an unexpected rush, she didn't show it in her manner towards us. She got our drink order, then our drinks and our food order very quickly. I had a question about a menu item and she had a suggestion how I could change it if I wanted to, but I decided to stick to the regular item. We had regular VI breakfast faire for dinner. I had the Belgium waffle with blueberry sauce. It was good. We have no complaints about the food or the waitress's service. But back to Tom, when we went to check out, we made sure there wasn't a crowd at the checkout. He was at the checkout stand with two of the waitresses, but he left when we got up there. One of the waitresses tried to check us out, but had a lot of trouble with the computerized register. This took a while and several other people lined up to check out. Tom came back, she told him that she was having trouble and rather than helping her and us get checked out, he decided to help all the people behind us get checked out. She finally figured out the system and we got our receipt. I don't know what Tom didn't like about us. We certainly hadn't been rude to him at any time nor did we know him beforehand, but his unprofessional treatment of us made it that we won't be going back to this particular Village Inn.

It's places makes me sad what Americans do to the English language. The menu here doesn't say "hash slightly yellow on one side." The menu says hash browns. But the concept of "browning" food is completely lost on whoever it is working in the kitchen. They weren't even approaching orange, they were barely yellow, in part, on one side, of a big 1" thick lump. The food placement on the plate was even suspect, my eggs were under my country fried steak, as was my hash yellows. The country fried steak was clearly the highlight on the plate, but it was tasteless as if it was cooked (almost burnt) from frozen the night before, and just warmed up a bit and dropped on the plate. (see photo) The waitress was friendly at first, but... Only checked on us once, at the only moment I had food in my mouth during the whole visit, at which point my mom (who has dementia) declared "it's just wonderful." But it was absolutely awful, I wanted to send back the hash yellows, the chicken fried steak tasted microwaved, and I was out of water and needed more. The check came before I got a second glass of water. I was unaware how badly someone could screw up something as simple as toast. But, now I've learned. First, slice it to thick so that there is a extra high ratio of bread that actually won't be toasted. Then toast it in a device that somehow manages to leave 1/2 of the surface randomly unexposed to any heat. It's a chain. And I suspect some Village Inn stops have good cooks and attentive staff. But for now, fall 2013, and this location, I couldn't recommend it to anyone.

I've been eating at this Village Inn since I moved to Tucson 4 years ago. I've always found the staff to be friendly for the most part and free pie Wednesday is of course our favorite day to dine here. For breakfast I almost always the VIB. The french toast is super yummy and I love that you can get breakfast all day long. The only thing that I really don't advise ordering is the fish and chips. I only ordered that once and it was overcooked and greasy and hard and just plain awful. Last night we went for dinner and pie. Our waitress Cyndee was attentive and quick with drink refills. Pies were delicious as always.

Well...used to come here regularly a couple years ago, finally went back yesterday. Loved the French toast! Breakfast is good, dinner dishes are enh, it's okay. Lunch is typical. Don't like the kids pasta, kids eat with their eyes and mines enjoy spaghetti. They just got horrible tasting, cold, pasta. I've tried a few of their slices of pies before and they are..good. Prices are typical. Do not like the water they serve, tastes/smells yucky! But Cashier, server, staff were very nice:)

Food wasn't very good, looked nothing like the picture. Pie was the highlight but when isn't it. Service was terrible wish i wasn't such a burden to take our order. Been here a few times and service is hit or miss same with food. Next time it's just pie.

I go here often with friends for a meal, either get the VIB or the Fish and Chips. The servers are awesome and wish that they could the back of the house to work with the front of the house. Food quality is going down hill fast. Keep getting told new cooks, someone called out, we are short staffed. About 6 months ago food was amazing now your lucky if its lukewarm. And the excuses are always the same. May have to go back to Denny's (barf) or IHOP. I wish that Brawleys hadn't moved.

i don't like breakfast. but this is where we come when the husband wants breakfast. and i am able to get lunch, so this makes me happy. last time we went it was a monday afternoon and the husband was still able to get some pancakes and i ordered fish & chips. we were in a rush to get to an appointment, and murphy's law seems to work when you're in that situation. we were seated and it took a little longer than usual for the waitress to come and greet us and take our drink orders. after we actually ordered, the pancakes came out quickly but the fish & chips took forever. i actually had to take it to go. when it came time to grab the check, that seemed to take forever, too. then checking out in the front was even longer. the greeter/manager, whoever he was...wasn't super friendly. he told me to "hold on" while he sat some people who walked through the door after i had gotten to the register first. ....okay. holding on. someone else finally came up to help but the first register wasn't reading my debit card. had to jump over to the other side and that took a minute as well. we will probably be back, just because they are pretty good for breakfast, but, i might consider one of the other near by diners before i decide to come to this one.

I used to like this place when it was first open. Over the years, it has really gone down hill. I had a problem with a visit once and complained to corporate and it was straitened out, so I gave it another chance. The last time was the last straw and I will not be going back and won't bother the corporate office again. My wife and I went into the restaurant and ordered our food. All seemed normal. Then we got the food. Both our meals were overcooked on portions. Not so terrible that I couldn't eat it, but overcooked just the same. My wife didn't eat much of hers. We thought about sending them back but just decided to stew, our fault. Then, we ordered pie to go. Mine looked fine but my wife's looked like they dropped it on the floor a couple times and very slightly brown bananas. She decided to take it home anyway. Well, big mistake. The banana cream pie tasted like it was spoiled. Was it left out for days and they didn't want to throw it away? I don't know but it sure seemed that way. I know I could have gone back and complained again and could have sent my meal back as well, but I am tired of complaining here. I just won't give them my money any more.

For Village Inns, this one is pretty decent, most of the time. The food is pretty good, for what it is.. It's all standard diner-like fare, and it's always consistent. They seem to season the meals relatively well, and they usually cook eggs close to how they're requested. I really like their three (or is it four?) cheese omelet, which has jack cheese, mozzarella, and cream cheese (and maybe cheddar). I love the addition of cream cheese in an omelet, and I wonder why more places don't use it! It goes very well with the richness of the buttery eggs because it is creamy and smooth, and it melts really well. Very tasty. My husband has enjoyed all of his sandwiches here. They're always flavorful, but maybe a tad on the small side. He always gets a side salad as his side dish option, and the lettuce is generally crisp and fresh, and their ranch dressing is pretty good. And of course, the pies. They are mostly basic versions of a lot of different varieties of pie. They're all generally good. The lemon ones are sometimes too sweet for me. The chocolate ones are sometimes too rich for me. But overall, they're good and there's enough menu variety that I'm sure anyone can find one that they'll enjoy. We usually don't end up at Village Inn for free pie Wednesdays, because the wait can get a little ridiculous, though. The restaurant itself could use a deep cleaning, because it's starting to look a little bit dingy. Maybe part of that is because there's always tables loaded up with dirty plates all over the restaurant that don't get cleaned up for as long as it takes to eat an entire meal here. I'm not entirely sure if the floors ever get vacuumed, either. Overworked staff or disinterested staff? I'm not sure. It can get busy in there, certainly, but to hardly clean off tables in a reasonable amount of time? I dunno. Their prices are ok, more than Denny's, but not outrageous. The service could use a little help sometimes. It takes too long to get a drink refill. But they sure do know how to leave your check on the table immediately. All-in-all, when we're in the mood for Village Inn, we'll return to this location.

We have come to this restaurant many times just as of late the service has gone down hill at least the server we had the last two times we've been there Erica. She is very friendly but not attentive at all! She came and took our drink order then came back to get our order my wife ordered a sandwich with Tomato Basil Soup it was covered with grease she brought her another bowl we had 1/4 of a glass of our drink left she never once asked to refill, although all her other tables got refills! I don't know if I will ever go back to Village Inn again maybe if I'm hard up for a place to eat if we do we will request not to sit in Erica's section. There was a older blonde server with glasses she was real busy and it looked like she knew what she was doing.

Standard generic chain breakfast food here. Not particularly great, there are definitely better options in the area but we stopped here after an Urgent Care visit a few weeks ago (so fun) because it was across the street. Food is cheap, coffee is decent and our waitress was great so no complaints from me! I liked their make your own breakfast option and my fiance is always a fan of places that I can get breakfast and he can order from the lunch menu.

Today was my first trip to Village Inn. I was greeted the host immediately. My waitress was a girl named Michelle, and she was at my table within a minute or two of being seated. She asked me if I had ever been to the village in before, and I told her this was my first trip. She took the time to explain the menu. Michelle asked me if I'd like a cup of coffee or something to drink and I told her that I would like a cup of decaf. She brought me a pot of decaf . I like the fact did they brought a pot of coffee because I hate waiting for a waiter or waitress to figure out that I needed more coffee. She asked me if I needed a few minutes to place my order and I said yes. A few minutes later she came back and asked me if I was ready to order and I said that I was. She took my order and in under 5 minutes my order was sitting in front of me and the restaurant was busy. This restaurant and staff are very efficient, very clean, and very professional. Michelle came to my table several times to ask if there was anything else that she could do for me. In most restaurants they take your order, deliver it, and really don't care period. The Village Inn is totally different. They care about their customers. When Michelle delivered my orders she also told me to pick up a piece of pie. She explained to me that every order on Wednesdays get a free piece pie. That was totally unexpected and I love the fact that they go the extra mile to make their customers happy. The Village Inn and people like Michelle make this restaurant more of a hometown Diner. I will definitely return to the Village Inn, especially on Wednesdays. The pie was fantastic by the way.

I went to HarRison location Friday afternoon looking forward to their fish fry. Had to wait 15 mins but that was ok. Asked if the fish was "very ready" a nd a after a slight hesitation the waitress said no not at all. I should have listened to the hesitation. The fish was Hard! The coating was so dense you had to bitterly break off chunks to chew them down. Sad experience. Won't try that again.

Kind of a let down getting breakfast here. It was my first time and will be my last, sadly. The hostess was friendly and smiled as she seated us quickly, our server arrived within 4 minutes, not exceptionally reasonable but oh well. Once my dining companion and I ordered our breakfast it took about 20 minutes to get it, this is pretty bad for breakfast. The food was about what you'd expect from a fast/casual concept. Coffee tasted a bit burnt, not sure if we can blame the type of coffee or maybe old decanters? Bottom line: You get what you pay for here. I can't say it was awful but it could definitely use improvement. Service is A+ and I hope most of the waiters/waitresses move on to bigger and better restaurants, amazing attitudes and very attentive.

Pro: If you are feeling like breakfast, you can get it. If you are feeling like soup and a sandwich, they have that too. If you are super hungry and want some chicken fried steak, you've come to the right place. Con: Busy on Wednesday. Expect a small wait. My educated guess is that it has something to do with their free pies. Pro: Free pie on Wednesday. The lemon supreme is supremely rich. My suggestion is to get your pie to go. Con: The veggie sides are super bland. They over-cooked my grilled chicken breasts, to the point they were like jerky. Pro: Friendly service.

Finally went in on "Free Slice Wednesday" to get some lunch and, of course, free pie. It is a highly advertised promotion so we were excited to take advantage of it for the first time. I have several things that I could complain about in this review related to today's food and service, but I'm just going to skip all that because I'm just not in the mood. But the one thing I want to say is that our server, Teresa, brought us our bill very quickly but she never asked us if we wanted any dessert (c'mon now! Servers ALWAYS ask if you want dessert) and I had to mention the free slice promo in order to receive it. Teresa did not ask us if we wanted complimentary slice and I think that is downright sneaky. Now, are they training the staff to purposely NOT offer FREE pie on FREE pie Wednesdays? Sheesh, I hope not. Who really knows? I sure didn't feel like an appreciated customer by the omission of the pie offer. When we went up to pay our bill, a young family that was sitting near us told the manager or cashier that they didn't even KNOW about the Wed free slice promo. I think this is disgusting. If the promo is costing you guys too much money, then just stop it! Don't make the customer feel bad for having to ask what you regularly offer each and every Wednesday. P.S. Selected pie slices are offered in this promo, so I didn't even get the one I really wanted and P.S.S. my husband's slice of pie was 4 ounces less than mine. (We took the slices to go ) Yes I weighed it on my food scale...and why you might ask? Because I noticed on the menu that the slice of pie he wanted was about 60 cents more than mine so I had a feeling that his slice would be smaller. And boy was it! IF I ever go back to Village Inn on Wednesdays, it will be at the Speedway location just to see if they purposely don't offer the promo too.

I now love buckwheat pancakes thanks to the Village Inn.Try their Greek omelet for a healthier choice: egg whites, veggies, feta served with vanilla yogurt/granola sprinkles. It came with buckwheat pancakes on the side. Delish!

Kelcy is one of the best waitresses in the restaurant. She is very courteous and always asks if I am good. Definitely will come back again.

Great place to go for pi day. My daughter and I enjoyed our pi day here this morning. I had the Triple Berry and she had the Pumpkin. The pies were good, and the service was fast.

Delish!
