I went into this place with high hopes. Most everyone loves a good burger, right? Any place that has burger and shack in the name has to be good, right? Heavy sigh... I left disappointed. Decor: The decor was minimalist. I realize this place is new, but the decor literally consisted of one single license plate on the wall. I guess the upside is they can choose any direction from there. They can stay minimalist or go kitschy. Service: The place was not packed and service was just fine. We asked the waitress which burger was the best. Her answer came with no emotion and kind of took us back: "I don't know. I haven't eaten one yet." Hmmm.... not sure if she was kidding. She kind of warmed up and became a little friendlier before we left. Food: The food fell completely flat. The fries were limp, cold and under-seasoned... the holy trinity of bad fries. The burgers were unimaginative, bordering on boring, for a place that calls itself a burger shack. The meat was kind of gray, the cheese not melted and the bun seemed straight from the refrigerator. The only thing that was semi-decent was the order of onion rings added to the burger for $1. Prices are reasonable but the burger and fries were so disappointing I don't have confidence they can do breakfast much better. It will take some serious convincing to get me to try them for breakfast.
