The bartender offered me a birthday shot that tasted like chocolate cake. I thought it was a nice gesture to offer the shot. When my bill arrived, the idiot charged me for it. Ha!

Good tasty burger loved their sourdough burger buns. Service could be a bit more attentive , lots of people very loud! Will return for football games. Not kid friendly! Could use a few good video games for kids, buy kids a movie, pizza and leave at home.

Great food. Great atmosphere and a TON of tv to catch whatever game you are tryin to watch. Staff was very good about switching channels to suite what you wanna see which can be a problem elsewhere. Had a great time and if you smoke they even have a smoking lounge. Definitely recommended.

It's where the famous sans used to be. Brand new bar. Dive style. Check it out if you love by there or you could always go down the road to Shooters, a personal fav

This place is pretty great. Definitely going to be watching some uofa basketball here. Food is good, prices fair, and there is not a single drink on their menu I would not try. Definitely ups the Sports bar game.

I can say without a doubt the service at this establishment is top notch! I had two bartenders and the waitress checking up on me while I waited for my wife. I'll review the grubbing looking menu once I get done eating lol.

I stopped here with Hubbs and some friends after work. We each had an assortment of drinks with cool names like red and blue and aloha bowl. Most everything was great except for the salsa that came with the chips. A tad too much garlic for us. This place is close by work and I can see it being an after work spot again. Rochelle served us well and was very nice. :D

Our first time at Throwbacks. We are from Colorado. Worried about being in a sports bar full of charger fan at a a Bronco game. What a surprise. Our server Rochelle is the best. Sweet lovely girl. She made us feel at home. Wonderful personality, friendly, attentive, professional. Thanks Rochelle. Food was good, but the service was over the top.

The fish and chips were phenomenal! Bartenders, waitstaff and the chef all were helpful, friendly and professional. Would recommend any time! Keep up the good work!

First time we've been there and we'll definitely return! The burgers were cooked perfectly, service was prompt and excellent, and the price was right! I'm looking forward to trying other dishes from their menu!

Great service was awesome. Amanda was nothing but smiles as soon as we walked thru the door and Chris behind the bar was quick, efficient, and makes a damn good drink. Also Mike the chef definitely knows his way around a kitchen. The calamari has a sweet first taste then I slap of spice that definitely wakes up the taste buds. This will become a regular place for me I can tell ya that.

First time here. They just opened 8 days ago. It was busy and a fun atmosphere and vibe. We just had some beer. Kiltlufter on tap. A lil overpriced at $7 a pint for kilt lifter. $5 down the street, but I would imagine they have a great happy hour. The bartenders were awesome! Thanks Alex for being so welcoming ! Awesome service! The food menu looks greAt and the good we saw come out looked delicious! Great place to watch UofA games or UFC fights. We will be back for happy hour!

So today was the day. The day I decided if I was going back anymore or not. I have been several times and I was sitting on the fence about it. I'm a rum and coke kinda girl. The drinks are so weak, I would have to spend my entire paycheck there to get my buzz on. I don't go to a bar to drink all day and walk away feeling like I've been drinking soda and now am broke as a joke. It looks great in there but I miss the old Famous Sam's. The ambiance was better. Every time I have been there, I haven't talked to anyone besides who I came with. That's a bummer! I love talking to people but no one there is really interested in chatting. Now the wings are good and the garlic parmesan fries are delicious. I haven't veered off of the menu anymore than that. So my final judgement, it's not where I want to hang out and spend my money.

My buddies and I have gone here for lunch about once a week for the past month. Their lunch specials are awesome. Good burgers, generous amounts of cheese and bacon and good service. Inside, it is clean and has so many TV's that you are unable to avoid them even if you wanted to. Each time we have gone, it has gotten better. Highly reccomend.

Although I had some issues management went out of there way to resolve them. if you have any problems ask for Tigger he will go out of his way to make sure things are right.
(4)Dusty C.
Definitely NEED more servers like the gal who is always wearing her cowgirl boots! I believe her name is Drea. She was very attentive, quick to know the menu as well as the drinks..sold us on everything she suggested! Great food! Even better service! -Satisfied customer

Love love love everything on the menu, great atmosphere and lovely service. Worked there from the beginning and love seeing it take off day by day-- worth a shot people.

The food was fantastic! I loved the atmosphere. The service was exceptional. The hookah was a pleasant surprise. Tucson had a hidden gem.
(5)Patti K.
Great bar, great food, and great service. Came here on a whim and was pleasantly surprised! I highly recommend this place!

Horrible service!! Walked in last night around 7:30ish, NO ONE acknowledged us or probably even knew we were there. Waited 10 minutes still nothing. There were about 5 staff members just standing around in the back kitchen area. Bartender spent 5 minutes looking at his phone. What appeared to be a manager came out of hibernation looked around and went back into his cave. Will not go back even with them offering a Groupon. Groupon = failing business. No wonder with clueless and inattentive staff.

Went for the u of a basketball game. Nice place, and we ended up sitting close to the owner's family. The waitress forgot to put our order in and and we waited for over an hour, but the owner was appropriately sorry and comped our food (which was decent--hot wings were good)

This Place is really nice. The food was excellent. I definitely will back. It is refreshing to see a locally owned restaurant, where they make so many things from scratch. The French Dip sandwich is outstanding
(5)Alex L.
Great atmosphere and even better food! The pastrami sandwich was probably the best I've ever had! So much flavor, but not overwhelming at all. My boyfriend got the double bacon cheeseburger and he said it was cooked perfectly. Definitely going to go again!!

For this neighborhood, Throwbacks is almost too good. I say that with great love and admiration for the Campus Farm and Amphi area. But I mean, come on, just driving down 1st or Prince, you wouldn't think to find a place with as quality of food as you'd find here at Throwbacks. It's really a diamond in the rough. Tucson is full of these. Let's stay with the food first. I've never thought any dish I've been served here over the course of about a year was anything less than 4 star quality. The Buffalo Tender Sandwich is probably my favorite chicken sandwich in Tucson. The burgers are all very good (with the Bleu Cheese Burger in particular a stand out. In short, you can't go wrong. Now service here is what I really like. Amanda the bartender is great. She's quick with a joke and a light up your smoke. And she always has something new behind the bar she's thought up. And if she isn't there, there are TVs everywhere with Pac12 and everything else. The crowd is very much of the neighborhood, so of course every once in a while there is a piss poor drunk making off colour jokes about Obama and the IRS. That's part of the charm. It's why I go back. That and I don't get Fox, so it's good to hear an educated opinion from the other side. In short, throw a few back at Throwbacks

I had heard a lot of good things about this bar from my coworkers, so I was eager to check it out when I was invited to watch UA play UCLA last night. Look, I understand that the place was packed full of people. I'm not expecting to get quick, prompt service. However, our server disappeared for 40 minutes. That's not even an exaggeration. Most of the people in my party gave up on her and ended up going to the bar to get drinks. When she finally appeared I ordered an IPA, and it took her 25 minutes to get it to me. By far the worse sports bar experience I've ever had. I was planning on getting a decent buzz on watching the game, and I could only get two beers out of the experience, and the last came with 2 minutes left in the game.

This is my go-to place for catching a meal and a few drinks while I watch a game. There is something for everyone on their food and drink menus. You MUST try the meatball sliders with house-made meatballs - need I say more?! Also, Throwbacks does not skimp on the details in anything they do. My beer brat was served with the correct roll, and some pretty great sauerkraut to boot. Their featured cocktails are very tasty and always go down smooth. I always get more buzzed than planned on account of that!

Great place awesome food and service! Lots of TV's. Will definitely be back. Great place for football!! Love it
(5)Wes M.

Last minute decision to call in by my wife and I and it was a GREAT decision. Fantastic prices, great food and an awesome atmosphere. Will definitely come back soon.
(5)Loren A.
This place was just perfect for the superbowl. Mixed drinks were delicious, great waiting staff, enough lighting/space and fast service. It's amazing how this place went from crusty gross Famous Sam's into a nice sleek sports bar. Out with Old Chicago and now in with Throwbacks!
(5)Danny A.
Stopped in here before the Arizona Football home opener yesterday. The place was not very busy, but I'm guessing that had a lot to do with the crazy rainstorm that was happening outside at that time. Bartender and staff were friendly, and the place was clean. Lots of tv's and pool tables/darts in the back area. Decent happy hour specials. I had The Closer, which is a grilled (or breaded) chicken sandwich with your choice of wing sauce. Hot sauce was tasty and not too overwhelming. Bread was soft and fries were good. I would get the sandwich again, and would visit this place again in the future.

Try the fried pickles. They're to die for. Probably literally, since you've got deep fried things wrapped in meat then dipped in ranch - but what a delicious way to die, right? Such a big improvement over the old Famous Sams...I wonder if the neighborhood can support such a "clean" establishment. I lived there a long time, and the dirty predecessor seemed pretty on par with the clientele. Service was good and fast, beer was frosty and cold with good selections and the music wasn't too loud. We went for lunch, but I think I'd like to try a happy hour here and see the place in it's real element.

My boyfriend and I have been in here before it was Throwbacks, when it was Famous Sams and it was kind of gross and sticky. The change is amazing though! It was really kind of nice for a bar setting and the people behind the bar were really nice! The service is fast and the food was really tasty and on special for happy hour! We had nachos and wings and they were both really good! There is a smoking room too for those who want to smoke and still be inside the bar.
(4)Amanda S.
This place has good bar food, LOTS of TVs, and they really try to show every game that people are there to watch. They have tons of beers and liquors, not sure about their wine selection, but hey- it's a sports bar anyway. Service is spotty- sometimes it is good, sometimes it is way slow (even if it's not that busy). They have a huge billiard room, and a really nice "smoking lounge" that is covered and screened in with TVs so you don't miss any of the game. I would definitely recommend this place as a solid sports bar.

Thank you Johnny the bartender! Johnny is practically the spokesman for the business. Delicious food, great presentation, AMAZING prices. I just discovered my favorite local bar and grill. I have no complaints... I will be back very soon!!!!

I had to wait over an hour for my SALAD to come to the table. My angry orchard was flat and I saw our waitress maybe three times the whole time we were there. Not happy.
