I have eaten at The Egg Connection for many years and continue to have lunch there at least twice a month. It was always a great place to take my boys after a soccer game as the food is good (diner style) and plentiful. Today however my opinion changed. The reason may be considered nit-picking to some but it really threw me. First piece of advice is not to add anything on to your meal, even if you want something (or a few things) removed; they charge a great deal for additions and don't tell you about these charges up front as most servers/restaurants do. What threw me today is that I asked for lemon in my water which came with a $.50 charge. There was no mention of this as I ordered and when I asked my server upon receiving the check, she said, "it's on the menu, it's only $.50, you can handle it". A rather rude response to a charge that I find ridiculous. They have lost my business.

There are many reasons why I am giving this place five stars. The first reason is easy to say: it is not a national chain. This location is their only location, so they know how vital it is to make good food. And they exceed this expectations. There are other local breakfast and brunch places throughout Tucson, but The Egg Connection is the best of them. I never really liked grits until I ate here. Now, I am a fan. Whether you order an omelette, breakfast plate, or a pancake/waffle dish, they go above and beyond to make their food delicious. For example, they put more cheese on their omelette than any place in Tucson, but they know not to put too much to take away from the egg. Their gave you plenty on the side dishes to help the main courses; the bacon is tasty and crispy and their English muffins are amazing! The prices definitely match the quality and quantity of the food. The last time I ate here I ordered a California Turkey Sandwich with coleslaw. I don't know where they get their turkey, but it is absolutely delicious! I never had their soups but I've been told it is really good. While I haven't tried everything on their menu, I don't think there is one thing that is not good. As s huge fan of mobster and gangster movies, I eat with satisfaction being surrounded by movie posters that include many of The Godfather. In their bathroom, there is a 3-D poster of the movie; how cool is that! Finally, the service here is very nice and friendly. They always will take a minute or two to have a conversation with you. That to me is excellent customer service. If you have yet to try The Egg Connection, I highly suggest to make it out here for a breakfast or brunch. This place is amazing!

We have been visiting this place for years, as another reviewer stated Robert's is closed on Sundays :) Every meal we have gotten has been great from fried eggs and sausage or bacon to pancakes and french toast. However just recently we ventured into their lunch section and were blown away! We ordered a couple of different burgers and were very impressed. They make their own bread, hand-shaped patties and hand cut fries - on appearance alone I was sold. But the taste was delicious. I ordered a burger with bleu cheese and it comes with the usual veggie toppings - juicy and SO good. Cody's has been a long time favorite for burgers but since they are also closed on Sundays the Egg Connection is at the rescue! Plus service has always been quick and efficient, it has a homey feel including bickering between the staff every now and then but its good entertainment while waiting for your food.

So I ordered an eggs Benedict, substitute Canadian bacon for sausage patty. The bill comes, and they charged me an extra $4.50 for the sausage. With coffee it was $15! I think me and the egg connection will be taking a break.

A great little greasy spoon-type restaurant. They serve breakfast and lunch items, but it's clear that most people come for the breakfast. The hostess, who has been there for nine years, was super friendly, and we were able to get a seat right away, even though they were busy. There is a kind of Southern twist to some of the food here: they have sweet tea and grits. I'm a hashbrown kinda girl, so I was disappointed that they don't have them. They do have home fries though. They have tons of omelets to chose from. The plates of food are massive. You could totally split a meal, which seems to be a common approach because they charge 89 cents to share food. The wait staffs was all business, and we had to ask for refills twice. However, the food itself was great. We will totally be back.

Went with a party of 4 for brunch. We were told they close in forty five minutes. I said that is plenty of time as we didn't plan to linger. The lady at the register was so rude to my guests and I, who are all regulars, we left. I was treated rudely by this lady prior but decided to let it go. Not this time, she embarrassed us and didn't care. That's how business die. Word of mouth.

Went for breakfast on a Saturday after dropping our dog off at the groomer. I saw corned beef hash on the menu and had to read no further . Corned beef hash was some of the better I have had in Tucson. Home fries, eggs and toast rounded out a very good breakfast. Service was good and the food arrived fast. That's a good thing at breakfast time. We came with a coupon that is in the paper almost every week. Got out of there for just around ten bucks for two people... color me happy. I'm goin' back!

Went here Saturday morning for breakfast, place had an average number of patrons. Ordered a Denver omelet, asked for hash browns, they don't serve them? Really what restaurant doesn't server hash browns for breakfast???? Ok, ordered skillet potatoes. Place seems like they wanted to be a southern style diner in Tucson, yeah just what I wanted, not. When food came out the omelet looked like fried eggs that had the filling dumped on them, then folded over. The potatoes where blackened, tasted burnt. I have to say I hoped for more, but o well. I will not be going back here.

i really like the egg connection as far as breakfast joints in tucson go. i like that they hire young waiters/waitresses that are nonetheless friendly and efficient. i like their delicious and generous portions, the schizophrenic and cheesy decor, the mix of old and young patrons, the treasure chest of kid toys in the lobby and the giant slice of corn bread you have the option of getting on the side (read: get the cornbread). reasonably priced, too. my husband thinks they're a tad on the greasy side and they're a bit far from our house in a blase strip mall with no outdoor seating, so i detract a star for those points. give them a try! i'm a healthy eater and i usually have leftovers.

Such a cute little place. Reminds me of road trips with the family and pulling over in the middle of nowhere to get something to eat. The walls are covered with John Wayne photos. One wall had Rat Pack pictures. There was Sinatra music playing in the background, loved that. I had what is probably the best country fried steak I've ever had, very crispy on the outside and super tender inside. I love that you get your own carafe of coffee for the table. My only complaint is that instead of a jar of sugar on the table they have the individual packets and the brand they use has a funny taste to it. For my second cup I just used the artificial sweetener and that was better. Overall, great place. Will definitely be coming back!

My family and I used to love coming here, but my mom and I went today and had the worst experience we've ever had at any place of business. My mom and I had ordered a patty melt and a separate order of fries. The restaurant automatically split the patty melt, without us asking, and brought out 4 separate plates with one item on each plate. When we got our check, we saw they had charged us for splitting, which we never even asked for. We asked to speak to someone, and thats when the owner came out. She started to yell at us, accusing us of stealing because we were using silverware, and then started to harass us for drinking water, using these insults and harassments towards us as an excuse to justify charging us a plate splitting fee. She then left and started to walk around the restaurant to different customers making fun of us to them. She then came back to our table with her son, and both of them started to harass us and yell at us more. We then went to pay our bill, and the harassment continued, she then started making weird faces at us and shouting at us in gibberish acting like a child, putting her thumbs in her ears and waving her fingers at us. My mom went back to our waitress to tip her, as the waitress was very polite to us, and the cook shouted to my mom from the kitchen to "get out, we don't want your kind here, and stop harassing my waitress." When my mom and I got into our car the owner came flying out of the building and started to pound on our windows and kick our car tires while still yelling gibberish at us and making more faces at us. We will never be coming back here, and I highly recommend no one go here. Or if you do, don't question a single thing. I would like to add one more thing, when my mom asked the owner if she was really willing to loose an entire family over $1, the owner said in a really snippy tone "I don't care, so what!"

Well, I could only give it 3 stars. We stopped for breakfast on our way to Sabino Canyon. I had the Greek omelet with grits and biscuit; wife had whole wheat pancakes with pecans, bananas, blueberries (not fresh) that was too much for 1 person. The omelet was not so good, with spinach, feta, tomatoes, and sliced black olives. Would not order it again. Chorizo and eggs looked good but my stomach can't handle that much spice and grease. Coffee plentiful but not hot; waitress was great and got me some hotter coffee. Average age of patrons was 75. Lots of regulars.

On a recent visit to Tucson, I wanted to take my mother and her friend out for breakfast. The place we had originally planned on having breakfast at was closed, and our second choice was insanely busy, so my mother's friend suggested we drive a little farther and try out The Egg Connection. I am so happy that she did! A kitschy little spot with photos of John Wayne on the wall, I knew as soon as we were seated that we had a gem based on the look and smell of the food waitresses were swiftly bringing out to other patrons. Egg Connection was busy, but someone quickly took our drink order. I was struggling to decide what to order, so I asked our waiter for his recommendation. He said the specialities are the eggs benedict and the chicken fried steak, neither of which were even on my radar... I decided to trust his recommendations and went with the eggs benedict, and was very pleased with the generous serving. A little heavy-handed on the hollandaise but the eggs were poached perfectly. I sampled a bit of my mother's meal as well, the sausage was delicious. Our total bill was $30 for breakfast with tip. One person in our party only had water, I still consider this a steal for the quality and quantity of food served. I only get back to Tucson every few months now, but when I am visiting, The Egg Connection will be a new regular spot for me for breakfast.

Great service and food! Bacon is their specialty, so order it! Watch out for the juggalo statue, it will sneak up on you.

Fast and service and a large dining room. Can be crowded on the weekends. My favorite is their vegetarian friendly biscuits and gravy!

I love breakfast, especially greasy spoons... But I was grossed out here... They are cheap with their cooking... Looked like they recycled their home fries until since last week... Gravy was tasteless and didn't even have a hint of flavor let alone pepper or sausage. My omelet was undercooked, then I looked over and saw that my husbands eggs Benedict were still clear they were so undercooked. Look I was in the army for 10 years, and I know bad food.. I can even enjoy bad food, but this was gross.

If you like home made burgers that are fantastic, you need to go to the Egg Connection. The toppings are great, try the piggie burger! The staff is also very friendly! The bacon is thick and tasty PS homemade fryes, try it you'll like it

We eat here about every other weekend and the service and food are usually very good. This past Sunday the bacon came out kind of rushed and very undercooked, I asked the waitress to please take it back and have them finish cooking it, she said, "can I just microwave it, I don't want to make the cooks mad?".......seriously?! I'm sorry I didn't want to eat raw bacon, I'm such a pain. The restaurant is busy, I can see that but there are many other places to eat and if the cook thinks raw bacon is ok to send out, I will gladly go elsewhere and not bother him w my silly demands.

Response to Sandy, Egg Connection owner: You must have a very low opinion of Yelp readers. Everything I said in my review was true and, I would add, quite detailed for it to be a "pack of lies". 1. I was an Egg Connection customer long before I ever knew Frank and Jerry. I used to come in with another friend and many, many times came in by myself for breakfast because it was on the way to my gym. I ate, read and did crossword puzzles before working out. I even remember years ago when I was having breakfast by myself and the waitress, your daughter, told me that an anonymous customer had paid for my meal. I told her to make sure she thanked the person because he wished to remain anonymous. I also brought friends to the restaurant who had never been there before. 2. I very, very rarely ordered only coffee and when I did, it was usually because I was fasting that day. I have my credit card statements with the Egg Connection and one can't charge a cup of coffee because there is a minimum charge amount. 3. If I'm such a disgusting person, why did you sometimes sit down with the guys and me at our table for conversation? 4. If Frank & Jerry "can't stand me", why did they invite me to join them regularly for breakfast? Just because I'm not patronizing your place, doesn't mean I don't see them. Also, I would never expect them to pay for me because I'm an adult and can take care of myself. 5. I did say in my review that your burgers were quite good, which is the truth, just like everything else I said. If I'm such a disgusting person, why would I say anything complimentary? If I'm lying, then I guess your burgers aren't good. 6. Yes, Rudy K. is one of my cats. Like millions and millions of social media users, I often use a pseudonym on various sites. You only know it's my cat's name because somebody told you. Obviously, when you first read the review you knew from the content that it was me, so I wasn't "hiding". 7. If you need your son to "protect" you from dissatisfied customers, you are in the wrong business.. 8. Why did the waitress accept the coupon? It's pathetic that you had to stoop so low in your own response.

Lack luster to say the least.... My boyfriend (who apparently was smitten with the bacon) even was highly disappointed on the second visit. All interior appearances aside (which was lacking as well) the food was nothing short of BAD. I got the biscuits and gravy and I've had better while I was in military Dining Facilities. They were: Dry, cheap, and over all looked like they came out of a box at Wal-Mart. Painfully dissatisfied.

730 AM. Robert's is closed on sundays. Where to get a french toast fix? 3 good size pieces of cinnamon french toast for 4.99. It was pretty damn tasty and wonderful and not crappy dennys style. And it might be my new favorite. Egg Connection that's where. Niles Favorite...$7.29 Two eggs share a platter of biscuits and gravy, then garnished with our own link sausage and a rasher of bacon. Rasher means 6-7 huge pieces of bacon, and enough white country gravy (no sausage in gravy) to cover the large dinner plate. This is so much food you will need a to go box. Order one and share it with your meal mate it is more than your boyfriend can eat for reals. And it was delicious to boot. Bacon was perfect, the biscuits were fresh, the over medium eggs perfect, the eyecandy college kid waiter was tasty too. solid 3 stars- until i saw the special board. 3 words can gain a star. crab...cake....benedict.

This is one of our favorite places to go. The prices are reasonable and the food is tasty and to your table in a jiffy. Ask for Will he is a super server. Debbie is a superb hostess and Libby is a ray of sunshine!

I was thoroughly unimpressed. Our waitress was clearly on speed, she chattered a mile a minute, forgot our order twice, ended up serving us food that we didn't order then added it to our check anyway. Besides all that, the food was only so-so. The portions were pretty enormous, but a ton of food you don't really want to eat isn't exactly a check in the pro column. I'll go somewhere else next time.

Very disappointed. Here's the story from the get go. Three weekends ago I went there with my mother . I got the huevos rancheros and she got the niles favorite, when the niles favorite came...immediately I was smitten with all that bacon, I then proceeded to pick at my moms plate because everything looked so great, the biscuits were fresh, there was tons of gravy, fresh cut sausage links were in the gravy. I was so determined to come back the next week and bring a friend along because I thought I was in love with this place. I even posted a Facebook post to all of my friends on the magic of this place.....THEN, the next week comes I take my friend and this happens... We both ordered the niles favorite, and no kidding aside when we got the plate, there was a ton of bacon on it, but the gravy was far from fresh, they put very little gravy on it, the biscuits were a joke, they were so dry and stale like they were made them two days ago, I could not believe they even let that plate out to a customer, nonetheless me, one of their biggest advocates because the week prior, it was a total 180. I don't understand it. Anyhow, I'm not going back again because the consistency of a restaurant totally failed me. My money, and I do tip very well because I was a server myself in the past, is far to precious to spend at a place where I don't know if Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde is going to be serving in that kitchen the day I happen to show up.

The food is greasy spoon good, but the best is the kitch. Lord this is one strange little place. I love it, and the staff there is WONDERFUL, a small family business that I am more than delighted to give my breakfast dollars to.

The last time I was here I found everything to be average for the most part. The food, the service, and the prices were all just okay. I don't think that I would go back but at the same time I wouldn't recommend against it. For me there are just a lot of other breakfast places I would rather go to. My final opinion is it's worth trying.

I stopped in for a late breakfast. I sat at the counter. A you man with glasses waited on me. While I am eating he admonished two employees in front of me. One of them was told repeatedly that she was at fault for being sick as he believes she complains of poor sleep too often. He then started micromanaging the employee who was writing on the board. Each word was critiqued. I asked for my check. He asked what was wrong as I had not eaten much. I told him I didn't wish to eat my breakfast next to him as he complained to employees. (As I was at counter and they were behind the counter within feet of me) he told me that this was a mom and pop Resturant and as the owner was away it was his job to correct employees and asked if I though he should allow employees to do a poor job. I told him it was customary to have these discussions away from customers. He told me he had never seen this and then asked me if I had a degree in business. I paid my bill and asked the cashier for the owners contact info. The man in glasses came to the front and told me the owner was sitting in the corner of the Resturant if I want to speak to him. (So he's not "out of town") I walked over to the owner who was talking to a table as he sat at another. I attempted to tell him my complaint as the man in glasses continued to interrupt. I left without finishing my complaint due to constant interruptions. I will not return.

I recently visited the Egg Connection for the first time. I'm generally a fan of smaller, greasy-spoon type restaurants but this place just didn't impress me. The hodge-podge decor, and the Christmas decorations left hanging (in APRIL) made the place look like one of the restaurants from Food Network's show Restaurant Impossible. The best thing about this place was the service we received from our server. He was friendly, prompt and courteous. The hostess however left something to be desired as she stood behind us arguing with an elderly woman about whether or not she could sit at the table nearest the window. The food was decent, but something I could have gotten cheaper and yummier at Bobo's down the street. I ordered the breakfast burrito. It was good, if not a little watery (maybe from the tomatoes?). It came with a decent scoop of salsa, but the salsa was served on the same plate as the burrito on a bed of shredded iceberg lettuce... I spent most of my time picking the salsa out of the lettuce. What was that supposed to be? Some kind of salsa salad? The presentation was very unappealing and talk about wasting lettuce (even if it is iceberg), and the salsa that I couldn't separate from it. I also ordered a cup of grits on the side and they were fabulous! The only complaint I have about them is that they are served with an ice cream scoop sized ball of bright yellow margarine...yuck. Probably won't be going back any time soon. It was pricey for so-so food and strange presentation.

Dear Egg Connection, You don't know me, but I'm anxious to tell you all about our most recent encounter. First, I'd like to tell you a bit about myself: 1) I don't like to write negative reviews and 2) sometimes when I get really excited, I can't help but go on, and on, and on, until I've said it too much. This may seem besides the point, irrelevant, except that you got me all riled up just yesterday morning, so here we go. I sat down in your kitschy restaurant and ordered the Country Club Omelette. Umm, what on earth is going on? I can deal with outdated decor - I could even grow to find it endearing if accompanied by good service and great food, but it's not. Anyway, I was so excited to try your most popular omelette. Who doesn't like turkey, bacon, avocado, tomato, and cheese? Here's what happened: service was shockingly fast. I'll admit I was impressed, but how does a restaurant full of customers make french toast, an omelette, and homefries, in like two minutes? I'll tell you: they don't. What was placed before me was raw, old, and rotten. I can only fill in the blanks as to how my dish may have been made, and here's what it tasted like to me . . . Rotten black death (courtesy of a bad avocado) with a touch of unripe tomato, rubber-like cheese, and raw bacon. Did the bacon ever even touch heat? Maybe you were going for a raw-bacon-taste. Regardless, the omelette was tough and resilient to my fork. Hmm, I wonder if it was sitting out for a while and then reheated with the ingredients listed above. I took one forkful of my omelette, tried for a second, but couldn't do it. Instead, I unfolded it in an attempt to find a decent bite. Nothing. Hence, the omelette was virtually untouched, and here was your chance to ask why. More than three servers noticed. Nobody said anything, including our own waitress, who instead asked if I wanted a box, to which I replied no. Hint, hint. You know, I don't like giving unwanted feedback, but since no questions were asked (How was your meal? Was everything okay?) - I think I got your message, "We don't want your feedback, just pay and get out." That's cool. I'll just use my beloved Yelpy tool, and hopefully you will take my comments into consideration when you finally start to care. My dear Egg Connection, I don't like feeling compelled to post a negative commentary. As I said before, I don't like writing negative reviews. However, your misleading four-star rating, your less than subpar food, and your indifference has led me to this point. That's all for now. Sincerely, The Breakfast Fanatic Whose Business Is Going Elsewhere P.S. Your french toast and homefries taste old.

While we got seated immediately at The Egg Connection, there were not many other good aspects to the experience. My boyfriend and I passed the time waiting for our order by commenting on the random things on the wall and people watching, so the place is good for that. Additionally, the prices didn't feel like they were too much for the amount of food we got. Here's where the bad stuff comes in. The dishes we got (Huevos Rancheros and a Bacon and Egg breakfast) were almost intolerably greasy. The home fries had very little flavor, and the flavor that was there tasted like a well used grill. The bacon, however, was good in the spots where it didn't taste burnt. Our waiter wasn't very attentive, though it was busy when we were there so I'm giving that the benefit of the doubt. Egg Connection, if anybody invites me to go out to breakfast to your establishment, I'll try another dish and get a different side than home fries. That's the only way I envision myself trying it again.

Most Sunday mornings will find us at The Egg Connection. As a result, we know the wait staff and our usual friendly waitress knows how we like things. Yes, the decor is funky kitsch but we find it comfortable and we're there for the delicious breakfasts. Service is fast and the food is plentiful and good. I almost always take home leftovers. Julie will typically get some sort of pancake creation. She's finicky about how her bacon is cooked and they almost always do it right (very well done). I've tried a number of different dishes but some of my favorites include Nile's Special, Sicilian Omelet & Chicken fried steak & eggs. We try to eat in off times to avoid waiting. If you get there before 9:30 AM you can usually get seated immediately. After that the crowd starts building...and what does that say about the restaurant's popularity? And do check the AZ Star's Thursday Caliente magazine. You can usually find a 2-4-1 coupon which makes this a real bargain.

We (boyfriend & I) tried this place for the 1st time (and last) today Sun. 4-28-2013 at around 10am. First thing went wrong was our waiter misunderstood my order which was I wanted a half order of sausage gravy and 1 biscuit, he brought out gravy, a biscuit & sausage on the side OK no biggie not what I am used to but I will just cut up sausage and throw in my gravy....let's move on...both out breakfast were cold, not lukewarm but stone cold! Boyfriend had his put in microwave I just ate mine. When we got bill was shocked to see my breakfast was more than my boyfriends cause waiter had charged each of my items separate, no biggie asked him to please fix it because I didn't want a side of sausage but sausage gravy etc (this was discussed at the time & he said he would take care of it meaning on bill)...this is where the real issue started, he was disrespectful, rude and even after my boyfriend nicely asked for a manager this kid leaned down closer and was still talking rude, I was so proud of my man for keeping his cool! Manager adjusted bill but gravy was not good, food was cold, biscuit hard, should have been given choice if eggs thrown on top of gravy of not (boyfriends breakfast), rude kid for waiter. Not going back! Did give 2 stars portions were large so if your starving to death and taste of food isn't important you will get a full belly of substance & that's it

This was actually our third choice for a Sunday brunch. Through some serendipitous turn of events, our first two choices had dauntingly long lines and we ended up here. We got in and were seated right away. The service was fast, and the food was good. The veggie benedict may be one of my new favorite breakfasts in town!

I would not recommend this place to anyone. I have never sent back a plate of food until yesterday. I ordered a roast beef wrap. When it came the tortilla was brown and cracking. No big deal I wasn't going to eat it anyway. But when I opened it up and the eggs were brown and looked like they were forgotten about I couldn't take it. Then when I said something the waitress came back with the bill and said she took care of it with the manager. The manager charged me $1.89, I guess for the three bites. It was disgusting!

It's definitely a greasy spoon type of place, but the service is fantastic. Always fast and efficient, yet you feel like you can sit there, luxuriate and enjoy your breakfast. My only complaint is that the coffee is really weak, but I also like my coffee really strong so it could be my palate. Don't go expecting a bunch of healthy choices- eat here on a cheat day!

I've been to The Egg Connection twice now. The first time it struck me as quite a solid breakfast location, I believe I got some kind of delicious Greek omelet which was really good. The second time, it was during the Sunday brunch rush. My friend and I walked in, and the woman at the front counter told us we could sit immediately at the counter. Not opposed to counter dining, we headed back. Once past the throng by the door, we noticed that while there were two empty seats, they were not together. Not particularly concerned (we had been expecting to wait, after all), we turned around to wait back at the front. Before we knew it, the server had coaxed a guest into moving over a seat and sprung from behind the counter to collect us to come sit. That time I got the veggie benedict, which was delicious, and you cannot beat that service.

This is my favorite breakfast place in town. In fact, these guys have *the* best burgers in town. Zinburger is great, Fuddrucker's is OK, but this place tops them all. They cook it to your request, they're big, they're made by hand and not over worked into the meat paste you get at so many places. (If your burger has hard angles on the edges, run away. You're not at a good burger place.) The chicken fried steak is also quite good, an while not the bar-none best ever, it is the best in Tucson. The meat is tender and has a good flavor, and the crust is good and crispy. Their other foods are fairly standard and good, but I mentioned my favorites above. One con is that they do not have a soda fountain, only cans. Not an issue for me, but for those that drink soda by the gallon for every meal, it is annoying.

Paul B and Daniela B are rtght on the money- Have been twice; weekdays both. Service excellent. Everything hot. We tried omelettes; we shared (three of us) this gigantic home-baked cinnamon roll as an appetizer; we had fresh cornbread to take home and savor. Once I took friends who never eat bacon. They looked at the food one table over, ordered bacon, and wanted more- Once I did the do it yourself omelette--different cheeses...delicious If you are partial to grits, with hot melted butter, you must try theirs But there are alternatives...fresh fruit, veggies to replace things like the hashed browns (cooked to order), the grits, the toast. Anyone on any breakfast schedule and have a real nice inexpensive breakfast out here. In addition to the John Wayne pix, I saw alot of Seinfeld show photos, old Hollywood stuff, old Tucson...just the kind of ambience I like for breakfast. It's in a shopping plaza w ample parking. Enjoy!

Pretty awesome greasy spoon place, with an entire wall dedicated to John Wayne. The restaurant is tucked away in one of Tucson's many strip malls, and the chairs tend to be of the stackable, vinyl/faux leather variety. I got coffee, a Denver omelet, a half gallon of grits, and a cinnamon roll the size of my head for about $10. Everything was salty and greasy and buttery and good. Service was fast and friendly.

Get to The Egg Connection early on Sunday if you don't want to wait forever. It seems every other time before today, I have had to wait for at least 1/2 hour. Today, we walked in, sat down, and had coffee in less than one minute. Niles is MY personal FAV, and 99% of the time is excellent. Today the bacon was burnt, and the gravy on the biscuits had NO flavor! Must have been an off day. I will not complain about a meal here. They always serve more than you (or I) can eat, today was no exception. I will return, and order another Niles Favorite, and try to eat the whole thing.....again!

Overall cheap, really tasty and fairly greasy. You get coffee and breakfast for two under $15 and you'll be stuffed to the gills. My favorite is their brick of cornbread served with salted butter substitute. The service is fast and friendly and a rasher of bacon means at least 3 pieces. Yummm!
