Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Horrible. That's all I can say. I had their Burrito Grande and managed 3 bites before I tossed the remainder into the garbage. Disgusting. I would rather eat Taco Bell than here.

Just happened to pop into this place while in the area. The Mom unit lives nearby and my stomach was a growling. Hungry! This is a small family owned restaurant with a nice menu of all the typical Mexican favorites. The inside is very clean and tidy and the food is rather tasty. Decided to get a Carne Asada Burrito and have it smothered with Enchilada Sauce. Went with a side of Jalapeno Peppers just in case it needed some more heat. Saw some Habanero sauce in a bottle and could not resist the temptation. Food was brought to my table very quickly and the flavors and textures were delightful. Really enjoyed kicking back and just taking my time. Service was friendly and most accommodating. They have different specials throughout the week and even a breakfast buffet during certain hours. Definitely will be back to try out some more of their other tasty items. The best part is that it is a heartbeat away from la casa. ¡ORALE VATO! 3.75 STARS

Carne Asada looked washed and had very little flavor. The rice & beans tasted homemade, but had little flavor. The hot sauce was delicious. The enchilada came with a brown gravy type sauce. The strawberry churro was delicious. I was told that the chorizo breakfast burrito is delicious. Small place not much to look at on the outside. We called our order in and picked it up to go. Unfortunately the food made us sick. Our tummy are not happy

Tried this place for dinner after seeing favorable reviews on Yelp. My father in law (FIL), who indicated initially that he liked Mexican food, ordered a cheese burger and I tried their asada tacos combo plate. My FIL liked his burger but I thought my tacos lacked that amazing flavor I have come to expect based on the reviews. The place is a no frills establishment...you have to get your own flatware and napkins. Service wasn't top notch. The clerk/server didn't even wipe down the glass when soda flowed over the glass upon being dispensed from the soda fountain. The table we were on was sticky. I tried to flag the server to wipe the table down but he was attending to a drive-up customer. All in all, not impressed. The food was OK but not something I will make a trip out to Catalina for...and the service, or lack thereof, knocked my rating from 3 to 2. There are a lot better choices out there when it comes to Mexican food...especially in Tucson

Just saw it driving by and we were hungry. Nice staff and fresh food. Daughter had chicken chimichangas and they were awesome. The clerk was super friendly. Highly recommended.

Great for a fast food Mexi joint! I am always leery of new pop up joints in tiny towns but they shocked my taste buds in the best way. The tacos de cabeza are appropriately succulent and surprisingly...the tacos camarones. I plan on trying the chimi's next!

Not a fancy place, but very good food and very reasonable prices! Gotta try the Sammy's Burrito! OMG! AWESOME! Loaded with carne asada, guacamole, pico de gallo, this will fill you up. Have also had their chicken taco salad --very good, too. Fish tacos and shrimp burritos are very good, too. Check them out!
