Very impressed with this place. As soon as you walk in the door the staff explains everything. I've been there 3 times and each time the staff is extremely friendly and enjoy giving you a hard time, in a good way. Several options from crusts, toppings, seasonings, and additional add one like balsamic glaze. I recommend really thinking about how well your toppings go together, cause I unfortunately picked toppings that weren't so great... Lol... No one to blame but myself, and it was still enjoyable. I've recommended to friends, and they've fallen in love too...

Just like subway, but PIZZA ! I had no idea this place opened by my place. I love the the idea of customizable personal pizzas. $5.99 for your basic pizza, $8.99 for a custom pizza with unlimited toppings! You can choose what type of crust you want, I got the firecracker. It was pretty good! The only downfall I had for this place was that they cook your pizza in a little roller and the bottom of my pizza was still kinda soggy...granted I did put ever topping, meat, sauce and cheese imaginable so I'm not surprised the crust wasn't crunchy and flakey. I had to eat my pizza with a knife and fork it was so heavy and not sturdy. Extra pros: You can put toppings on after it's gone through the cooker, so you can have fresh cut (not cooked) toppings too. Other places just throw it all together and cook everything. I will be back!

Apathetic service. Salads to avoid, unless you don't mind them being mostly lettuce or greens and little else. And you'll have to toss your own. Fresher than McDonald's, but that's a low bar. Stick to the pizza.

I have to say I was not expecting much the first time I came here. I was somewhat intrigued when I saw them go into this location but never really had a reason to go until my work handed out gift cards to this place as an incentive. So now I had to try them. I think the first time through, the staff could do a better job of explaining the process and making recommendations. They do seem a bit robotic in their pizza making, and I have seen some mixed level of skill at properly applying sauce to a crust during my couple of trips back. Thing is, now I've been a few times, and I'm practically a pro. I like the rosemary crust, and their red sauce is robust and flavorful. I have them add a good amount of garlic to the pie before the cheese goes on--highly recommended. Various toppings aside, I like that I can add garlic powder and "truffle salt" to my pie before it cooks. I usually have them finish with basil, though I'm excited to try the balsamic drizzle one of these times. The pie is actually quite delicious, much better than I ever thought it would be first time going in. My only recommendation if it were possible would be to do away with the pans they cook the pies in or use a screen, something that allows better heat transfer to the bottom of the pie. Its not that it comes out raw or something, but it is flimsy the way they cook it now and I definitely prefer something with a bit more chew. The price is quite good for what you're getting: a completely customized 10" pie with as many toppings as you want. I usually walk out paying about 10 bucks including a drink. That combined with the fact that they are quick makes this place a great lunch option for me. I will be back very soon, I'm sure.

Jesus this place sucks. Been going to Pionic which is the same concept so I thought I'd try this place. My advice skip it. The guy behind the counter was annoyed at helping us. Which is odd since there are no ingredient labels, so you have to ask what almost everything is. Halfway during his order he starts socializing with a friend who showed up. Then got grumpy when he got back to serving. Ingredients were limited and many trays were empty. I'm definitely driving past this place when I had to Pionic. Dear guy with letter T tattoo and your left hand. You're a shitty employee.

Bottom line: this place is probably our second favorite in this new genre (after Fired Pie) and the pizza is toasted in a Quiznos-like easy-bake oven, but the ingredient options are plentiful and of higher-quality, and serve to carry the 4-star score for them. The staff on our first visit was friendly and the wait times were short (mid-afternoon Saturday). I got the exotic whole-grain and flax-seed crust (outstanding/unusual) and the tykes got traditional white. Only three extra choices for cheeses, but this is the only place that has both fresh (sliced) mozzarella and crumbled goat cheese!... awesome. Among the two dozen toppings, the more unusual and coveted include: kalamata olives; banana peppers; sliced meatballs (not cheapo crumbled beef); artichokes; zucchini; caramlized onions; nitrate-free! pepperoni; and all-natural chicken breast pieces. However, surprisingly missing from their list are: feta; salami; basil and spinach. As with all the restaurants that otherwise follow this formula (Pionic; Pieology; Fired Pie), they then bake (or toast) your pizza and deliver table-side. One small complaint is that the doe/crust is very floppy, requiring two hands to eat even these small slices. As with the other establishments, Pizza Studio also offers salads, tossed with any combination of the same, unlimited ingredients for the same, roughly $8 price and decent-sized, good homemade cookies for only $1 ea. Drinks are fountain-style, self-serve; indoor seating is basic but ample and the disposal of your tray/garbage when you're done is DIY. They do have take-out boxes for left-overs, etc. Parking is via the adjoining free lot, but can get full too quickly during peak hours, since the 15 or so spaces are shared with SportsCuts and Chipotle.

I've only had pizza from one of their competitors; comparisons are hardly ever fair, but inevitable, so here goes. PS = Pizza Studio. TOPP = The Other Pizza Place Service - The person behind the counter at PS seemed just as mystified about the ordering process as we were. They say you get your choice of crust, sauce and toppings, but nowhere was there a list of sauces and, when asked, she could offer no help. The crusts are displayed behind the counter and are labeled. The toppings are also behind the counter, but you have to be Nostradamus to figure out what's what. Prebuilt Combinations - I ordered "The Beast", which is pizza speak for most of the meats in the topping bar. My wife had a plain pepperoni, mostly just because they offered so little help on the process. The combinations didn't seem to be as diverse or creative as TOPP. Price - Both places offers plainer pizzas (like a plain pepperoni) at a lower price than the specialties or unlimited-topping-build-your-own. It's much less evident this is an option at TOPP, who seem to steer you to the specialty pizzas or build-your-own. Variety - at PS you get pizza. Maybe an afterthought of a salad and a cookie. TOPP offers their build-your-own concept for salads and other items. Drinks - all they have at PS are soft drinks. TOPP has beer and actually have a happy hour. Do with that what you will. Pizza - both places offer a solid pizza, considering the two minute cook time. I did not have the same issues with raw crust as others have. The sauce at both places was pretty on point. PS uses a LOT of cheese on their pizza. I don't recall having an overly cheesed pizza at TOPP. Obviously, this concept is popular, as there are more than two of this type of place in town and more locations are popping up. Pizza Studio is a solid addition. Hopefully, they'll get the kinks worked out of their service and (hint, hint) soon offer beer/wine or something imbibable to go with your pizza.

I have to say, I came in here with very low expectations. My husband had been here a few times and really enjoyed it, but he and I differ in our opinions of what really good pizza is. He dragged me here, proclaiming that I would really like it, too. We walked in and were not greeted at all by the two guys near the door. Only after we stood there, waiting to order, did one guy finally say "hi". Actually, he didn't so much say it as whisper it, seemingly hoping that we were like T-rexs, and if he didn't move we would just leave. I was not impressed and was not looking forward to my pizza. I ordered the rosemary crust with pesto, mozzarella, chicken, artichoke hearts and roasted onions. It all looked promising enough, but I was still not convinced that I would want to come back. My pizza went through this weird toaster thing, and it was done. Then came the moment of truth. I bit into it, and it was actually really, really good. Then I had to concede this to my husband, who gloated. The pesto was fresh tasting, even if it was a little bit on the salty side, the veggies were good and the chicken lacked that yicky chicken gristle that assaults me when I get pizza at a few other places. The only reason for the 4 and not 5 stars is because the service was lacking, and I feel like if they cooked it on a screen instead of a pan the crust wouldn't be so soggy (it's really not that soggy, and I still REALLY enjoyed the heck out of my pizza, it's just one of those..."if I had to change something it would be this" sort of thing)

So delicious! Customizing your pizza is a snap and the flavors are fantastic. You choose your crust, sauce, cheese, toppings, and flavor garnish so it can be as plain Jane or as out of this world as you want. The friendly and cheerful staff was incredibly accommodating of my food allergies, right down to getting a fresh cutter for my pizza. As my dinner partner put it, this is the chipotle of pizza: you queue up at the door and dictate how much of whatever you want and it's one price, no matter how much you pile on. The restaurant was sparkling clean, comfortable, and the vibe was super friendly and welcoming. The wall is adorned with pieces by local artists and while some of it delves into the avant garde, it's all tastefully eclectic without being overwhelmingly disjointed. My only complaint? While you can order a shake of truffle salt on your pizza, basic salt and pepper are unavailable, even by request. Traditional pizza toppers of Parmesan and pepper flakes are available, along with hot sauce, but plain ol' salt is not available at all.

I've had so many good experiences here--I just love that you are so vegan-friendly, and I've turned many a friend on to your awesome pizza! I don't add any cheese to my pizza, but my friends appreciate that you are the only location of any of the fast-pizza chains in town to offer vegan cheese at no extra charge. The other Pizza Studio in town doesn't even OFFER vegan cheese. Today's experience was less than stellar, though. I imagine the number of people at tables and in line reflected an after church rush, and for the most part, your employees handled it very well. They got us through the pizza assembly process efficiently, but after paying and sitting down, the process broke down. The pizza took a lot longer than usual to come out and when it did, it was clear that it had been waiting for a bit before delivery to the table because the pizza was only lukewarm instead of piping hot. I'll be back. I'm somewhat addicted. But I don't think I'll come for lunch on a Sunday again.

Really really excellent pizza. I just love these new pizza places that cooks your pizza in super hot ovens. Everything just comes out to perfection. You pick your crust, you pick your sauce, you choose your cheese. You can pick as many toppings that will fit on the pizza. Very good salad that is not pre packaged like some of the other new fast pizza places. They are new so some of the help was a little befuddled at times. The manager came over to ask how we were liking our pizza. Of course, we told them the truth. It is really fantastic. We chose the rosemary herb for our crust and pesto sauce with all the bells and whistles that could fit on our pizza. So so good. We'll definitely return to this place. The parking is a little tough. Bad corner with lots of traffic and busyness. Great place for the kiddies also. Don't have to wait and wait till the pizza arrives.

I like this place! I went today with work friends, we each got a different pizza and tried each others - it was awesome! I liked the margarita pizza the best. The sauce was a beautiful color, and I loved how when they bring you the pizza, they say "here is your delicious pizza"! We got fresh basil for the top, and price is fantastic for what you get!! A great lunch for less than 10.00!

The pizza here is excellent and Daiya cheese is available at no extra charge. The Gluten Free crust isn't vegan though. The rest of the crusts are. It's a little oily for my taste but good. Go for all the veggies and don't let them skimp on the cheese. They have a scoop for the dairy cheese but there isn't one for the vegan one so they grab small handfuls (which isn't quite enough). Note the University location doesn't have the vegan cheese. Only this one.

I'm always on the lookout for a good pizza and this place is fantastic! Service was great, staff knew what they were talking about and very personable!! The simplicity and flavors of the pizza totally shouldn't wow like they do but we had the pepperoni and sweet sausage with rosemary garlic herb crust and a basil tomatoe based red sauce that made the pizza just perfect oh and a sprinkle of garlic salt.. Try it even if your not a pizza fan.

All I can say is I wouldn't go back. You create your own pizza and then it goes through a quick oven for literally 2 minutes. The pizza crust did not taste done - how could it . We have way too many GREAT pizza places in Tucson don't waste your money.

We tried Pizza Studio about a week or so ago and found it to be a pretty solid fast food restaurant. If we hadn't already tried Pionic across town and become spoiled by their dough and flavors, Pizza Studio might have seemed better, but alas, it is what it is and it's still a decent place to grab a bite. They have an ok selection of toppings, sufficient to make a tasty pizza. Plenty of fresh veggies and some meats, cheese, and sauces. Everything was fresh. Some items were a little confusing, maybe due to the staff being new and very stiff, maybe due to the layout, maybe something else I can't figure out. The garlic is by the sauce station, not the topping station, so my pizza had to go backwards in line when I asked if they had garlic. Their drizzles weren't really displayed so I didn't know they existed until afterwards, so I had to go back to the counter and get a side cup of some (which means it didn't get cooked with the pizza and blend with the flavors, meh). And no one told me they were going to add dried herbs that I didn't ask for -- nor want -- to the pizza before cooking it. I know all of these things for next time, which is good, but the process, in general, should be a little bit less...confused. The balsamic drizzle, though, is really outstanding and goes well with their pizza! Give it a try! It was my favorite part of the meal! The flavor of the pizza was good. The sauce was light but tasty. The ingredients were fine. The dough (I got the regular dough, but you can get wheat or a spicy dough which is a neat idea) didn't get cooked enough and was soggy, despite it being super thin. I would say that's because they don't actually "cook" it, they just run it through a salamander. That's just not good enough for pizza, unless you like it droopy and sad, which I don't. It was a fine tasting dough for pizza, though! Overall, I would eat at Pizza Studio again. Everything tasted fine. The prices are fair. The staff will work out the kinks and the process will be smoother. They were all friendly, and that's always a good start! The restaurant was clean and employees were constantly walking around making sure it remained that way. It is spacious and comfortable. If you like to customize your food, give Pizza Studio a try!

Went here with the fam today for the first time. We got the meticulous service that only comes with having a whole staff fresh out of training. Hopefully their level of service stays high as time goes on and as staff interaction sounds a little less customer-service-textbook. I got the garden pizza, which I really enjoyed. Know, however, that they finish the pizza with a very generous brushing of olive oil; I already dab fat off pizzas, so this left me with a fat stack of drenched napkins. The very fast cooking time was a nice change for a pizza place. Definitely good of you like thin crust. I would gladly go back.

Our experience at Pizza Studio was a big negative! The place closes at 10:00 on Saturday nights. We went in shortly after 9:00 and it was empty...no one at the counter or in the restaurant. We ordered pizza and sodas. The soda machine had no ice. We asked for some and never got a straight answer. The pizza was soggy and oily. They use an oven more like the ones in a sandwich shop and so the crust never quite cooked well and was still soft...too soft to hold a slice of pizza to eat it. You need utensils. Now for the dining area... it was filthy. There are half booth style tables, but literally every table was dirty. The comment from the staff was that he planned to clean it. This was 45 minutes before closing. All chairs were stacked well before 9:30. People came in and asked if the place was open. We feel bad for the owner. What a disasterous team of employees for a new restaurant. He should know that the reputation of his business is being impacted by his inept team. Sorry to be harsh, but Pizza Studio is definitely a thumbs down in all ways...food, atmosphere, and staff.

Awesome. We've been here a couple of times now and were really happy each time. The staff is really friendly, the options are great, you can literally make any combination you can think of as they have a huge selection of toppings. You can choose from several different crusts, I've personally tried three of them and they were all delicious. The gluten free crust is really good, you cannot tell the difference. You pick your toppings, there are even finishing touches and drizzles to choose from, they bake it in what seems like five minutes and then deliver it to your table cooked perfectly. The staff checks on you regularly. Recommend!

Daughter has been telling me about how she loves the one by the UofA. We decided to give them a try at their new east side location. Excellent flavored pizza crust and easy on pocket. Pizza is big enough for 2 or for 1 if you're really hungry and don't want to share. Staff was friendly and helpful. Placed our order and had our pizza at our table in under 5 minutes. This was a nice change of pace especially for pizza.

The variety of signature pizzas and toppings for creating your own were just right, not too little, not too much. Clean atmosphere. Loved that there was a variety of crusts to choose from and enjoyed the Rosemary herb. My favorite part...thin crust!! I didn't see many choices of sauces, maybe I missed it, but all I saw was marinara and olive oil. I saw a variety of cheeses but didn't know which one was which, server just assumed mozarella. The topping that could be added is fresh spinach. I saw a cooked down option of it but didn't look good. Overall, the crust didn't make me full but all the toppings did :) so 2 thumbs up and will be back when I'm craving pizza again

Heard a coworker talking about this joint and he was raving about it and I can see why! It's amazing! Starting from the beginning, I went with a friend right after church (12ish) and it wasn't too packed. We were immediately greeted by a warm and friendly staff who made sure that we had the best experience ever. The whole experience from choosing how we wanted our pizza to finally paying was fast and easy to. So $7.99 gets you your pizza, any crust, unlimited toppings! And the choices! So many choices! I wanted to choose all of them! They have your basic toppings (i.e. Pepperoni, bacon, mushrooms, etc.) but they also had toppings like zucchini, artichoke hearts, roasted bell peppers, salami, buffalo sauce, and so many others! And then you can top it off with a seasoning before it goes in the oven. The one I chose was called "Old Bay Seasoning", but first I asked what was in it. Being such a new restaurant the gentleman helping me didn't know, but he promptly took the time to look it up to better serve me which was much appreciated, and it tasted great! Final price for me and my date was $17.something, which not bad for a lunch for two. And finally the taste! It was SO great! Probably the best pizza I've had in a long time. In fact, I would go as far to say this might be one of the best, if not the best, pizza joints in Tucson. All I can say is that I highly recommend you to try it for yourself, I know I will definitely being going back. Congratulations, Pizza Joint and staff, you have just become my new favorite pizza place is Tucson.

If you've never been they make sure to explain everything step by step so you get exactly what you want. It is a great place to take children or adults. What a wonderful find!!! The service was super nice and very helpful. They have several crusts to choose from and they are vegan. They also have a gluten-free crust. The meats have no artificial ingredients, hormone free, and cruelty free. How great is that!! The cheese is grated daily and the veggies are roasted daily. My pizza came very fast and was perfect. I will definitely be back. P.s. They also support local artist by having work on the walls for sale and they do not charge them a commission. I think that is wonderful!!!!!

We went there with the groupon and left disappointed. Their toppings are limited and very uncreative. They didn't have Alfredo sauce, ricotta, basil, corn, or even baby tomatoes! We were unhappy because they didn't have very many options other than the usual pizza toppings. The crust also was not crispy. I prefer Pieology! They put their pizza in an actual fire oven rather than a toaster.

I have been to this location several times, and while the food is good, I've seen several kinks in the service. The biggest of these is that whoever is making your pizza is not consistent in the amount of toppings if you make your own. One girl, who seems to be the manager, rocks and will load it up to make it worth the 7.99 price. The other people who have made it...I've had to ask for more of each topping and sometimes even more sauce because it doesn't cover the whole pie. The issue I have with this place though is the little things. One time I came and no crusts were made, even though no one was eating there. No cookies either. Another time I asked for olives on the margarita pizza, and they wanted to charge me 2.00 for olives, even though thats the only topping I wanted. I've asked for a water cup in the larger size cup because I'm pregnant and drink water practically by the gallon, but apparently that's not cool either because then I have to pay 2.00 for the cup....of tap water. While I "get" that rules are rules, little things like that go a long way. Like...not making a 9 month pregnant woman get up to refill water multiple times while trying to eat lunch.

I've been to both locations in tucson and I have to say the service here is nothing compared to the one on Park Ave. I specifically ordered the Island pizza because the price is 5.99 rather than 7.99. I was incorrectly rung up and when I brought it up no one made any effort to correct their error. I know that $2 is not that big of a deal but I went out of my way to get a cheaper option because I wanted to get a drink as well and normally don't enjoy spending $10+ which is what it would have come out to. So, overall I would have to say I LOVE pizza studio (it's my favorite of the customizable pizza places) but I will have to go to the other location over this one if I was decent service.

I had heard many wonderful things about this place and decided to try it today. We walked in the door and a gentleman said hello which was appreciated. We looked at the menu on the wall for a couple of minutes and than stepped over to the counter to order. We had a similar experience as other reviewers mentioned where a different gentleman than the one that greeted us said "what can I get you" in a whisper. I could almost not hear him. I proceeded to tell him what I wanted and I just felt like his speed at making the pizza was kinda slow. Maybe they don't stress to there employees about how fast they should be but it does make a difference if ur taking your sweet time or if you are making the food like your enjoying what your doing. This gentleman just looked like he wanted to be anywhere else but there making pizzas and it just made the mood for me disappointing. I walked into this nice looking establishment and the mood/environment just wasn't fun or inviting. Now onto the actual taste of the food. I got the firecracker crust and also previously mentioned, it wasn't spicy the least bit. It had a good flavor, but with a name like "firecracker" and me being an absolute LOVER of spiciness, I was for sure expecting some kick from it. My boyfriend who doesn't handle spicy things very well couldn't taste any hotness to it either. My toppings were onions, jalapeños, pepperoni, banana peppers and truffle salt. My only wish is that you guys offered fresh jalapeños in addition to pickled. Pickled just don't taste anywhere the same. Than the pizzas went into this conveyer belt oven thing to cook. As convenient as that is, I would feel more like my food was pampered rather than just thrown together and cooked by itself with a machine, if you guys used a tradition fire oven. The taste of the pizza was pretty good. The crust was just the right thickness and had a pleasant flavor. (You know how, you usually just don't eat the crust on pizzas cause it's usually bland and no flavor? Well this was totally opposite!.) So in conclusion, the service was mah, definitely could have been better and more upbeat and looking like you actually care about what your doing. The original gentleman that greeted us as we came in did come over to clear plates a couple times and ask about the food. He really seemed genuine about it and that helped lessen my earlier feelings from the other guy. The pizza itself was very decent and I really enjoyed it. The crust was flavorful but wished it had even a hint of spiciness since that's how it's advertised. The topping were fresh and delicious. Add fresh jalapeños! The price was also very nice!! Usually places charge 50 cents or more per topping but not here!! Also the pizza was just the perfect size. I didn't leave feeling like I just ate enough food for a month like I usually do with pizza, which is better not to feel like that in my opinion. I wasn't left hungry, nor did I feel like I ate to much. I also think that you guys need bigger water cups! I love water and having to get up several times during my meal just to get more water was annoying and not very pleasurable. Seeing any restaurant offer tiny little cups for water also makes me as the customer feel like scum a little. I realize it's to prevent people from getting free soda, but you have to remember that people who want to cheat and get soda without paying are going to no matter what size cups. So in the process of offering tiny water cups ur making the customers who don't drink soda feel almost like there being accused of taking free soda just by the size of your water cup. So yes I will be back to have it again in the future! And I also want to try those delicious looking cookies! I'm also hoping that all the employees are on the same page next time of mood and customer service. The water cups need to be bigger as well. There are plenty of good not to big cups out there.

I went on a Sunday around 7 and the place was completely empty. Was excited to see the unique variety of crusts. They were out of a quite a few toppings and there was not a large variety of toppings. Disappointed in only one variety of sauce. I personally thought that Pionic had a much larger variety of toppings. Cooking the pizza was fast around 3 or so minutes, the pizza looked yummy and I was excited to take a bite. Much to my disappointment it was very greasy and the crust was SOGGY!. The topping fell off due to the soggy yuck. Maybe cooking the pizza longer would help this don't know. Don't think I will go back!

I LOVE this place! Friendly staff, great food, comfortable seating, and good prices. You get to choose what you want and on this first visit I chose rosemary herb as my crust....watched it being made fresh right there in front of me. Awesome. Then I got to choose my sauce...went traditional... and my cheese.....went traditional...and pineapple and mushrooms with a shake or two of the chipotle powder. Then watched them pop it in the oven after brushing it with garlic olive oil and out it came about 2 minutes later. Delivered to our table. It was a busy place this day so I think the word is getting out to the masses. Love the local artists' work on the walls. Love how the staff checks on you to make sure you're happy with your pizza. Marveled at all the healthy choices and the freshness of the food. And boy, I'll tell ya, that pizza was really, really tasty. Think crust and done perfectly. I still love Renee's vegetarian pizza but this place is now on my favorite list, too.

I'll admit I'm a big fan of this new unlimited-topping design-your-own-pizza trend. And while I don't think Pizza Studio is the best of Tucson's many choices in this genre, I do think it's a strong offering and the best choice on the East side. The selection of pizza toppings is by no means exhaustive, but they have all the standard items and a few nice surprises -- like the sweet chicken sausage. There are several interesting crusts to choose from. I picked the Firecracker, which is purported to contain cayenne pepper. I didn't notice any heat from it, though. Their ingredients are fresh and plentiful, and the speed of service is good. I think it'll be even better when they've been open a little longer and the staff is more confident. Despite pizzas being made one at a time, my group of 5 people had time to get all our pizzas and eat, with time left in the lunch hour. It's hard to review Pizza Studio without comparing it directly to the other similar restaurants in town. Pizzas here are cooked on a small conveyor through a countertop oven, which is different from competitors who are using a large, open oven. At least one competitor has twice the number of available toppings that I saw here. This is also a pizza-only business (they had a small clamshell of salad, and a bagged cookie available too), while some others offer full salads or pastas. None of these are actually bad things. For me, this trip to Pizza Studio was enough to put it on my Eastside lunch list. Its real advantage over its competition is that it's less than a mile from work. And actually, it was pretty decent pizza.

The atmosphere is also clea and the bathroom is spotless! Overall 4 stars it's a 8$ pizza and its a AWESOME pizza for 8$!!

Bottom line: this place is probably our second favorite in this new genre (after Fired Pie) and the pizza is toasted in a Quiznos-like easy-bake oven, but the ingredient options are plentiful and of higher-quality, and serve to carry the 4-star score for them. The staff on our first visit was friendly and the wait times were short (mid-afternoon Saturday). I got the exotic whole-grain and flax-seed crust (outstanding/unusual) and the tykes got traditional white. Only three extra choices for cheeses, but this is the only place that has both fresh (sliced) mozzarella and crumbled goat cheese!... awesome. Among the two dozen toppings, the more unusual and coveted include: kalamata olives; banana peppers; sliced meatballs (not cheapo crumbled beef); artichokes; zucchini; caramlized onions; nitrate-free! pepperoni; and all-natural chicken breast pieces. However, surprisingly missing from their list are: feta; salami; basil and spinach. As with all the restaurants that otherwise follow this formula (Pionic; Pieology; Fired Pie), they then bake (or toast) your pizza and deliver table-side. One small complaint is that the doe/crust is very floppy, requiring two hands to eat even these small slices. As with the other establishments, Pizza Studio also offers salads, tossed with any combination of the same, unlimited ingredients for the same, roughly $8 price and decent-sized, good homemade cookies for only $1 ea. Drinks are fountain-style, self-serve; indoor seating is basic but ample and the disposal of your tray/garbage when you're done is DIY. They do have take-out boxes for left-overs, etc. Parking is via the adjoining free lot, but can get full too quickly during peak hours, since the 15 or so spaces are shared with SportsCuts and Chipotle.

I've only had pizza from one of their competitors; comparisons are hardly ever fair, but inevitable, so here goes. PS = Pizza Studio. TOPP = The Other Pizza Place Service - The person behind the counter at PS seemed just as mystified about the ordering process as we were. They say you get your choice of crust, sauce and toppings, but nowhere was there a list of sauces and, when asked, she could offer no help. The crusts are displayed behind the counter and are labeled. The toppings are also behind the counter, but you have to be Nostradamus to figure out what's what. Prebuilt Combinations - I ordered "The Beast", which is pizza speak for most of the meats in the topping bar. My wife had a plain pepperoni, mostly just because they offered so little help on the process. The combinations didn't seem to be as diverse or creative as TOPP. Price - Both places offers plainer pizzas (like a plain pepperoni) at a lower price than the specialties or unlimited-topping-build-your-own. It's much less evident this is an option at TOPP, who seem to steer you to the specialty pizzas or build-your-own. Variety - at PS you get pizza. Maybe an afterthought of a salad and a cookie. TOPP offers their build-your-own concept for salads and other items. Drinks - all they have at PS are soft drinks. TOPP has beer and actually have a happy hour. Do with that what you will. Pizza - both places offer a solid pizza, considering the two minute cook time. I did not have the same issues with raw crust as others have. The sauce at both places was pretty on point. PS uses a LOT of cheese on their pizza. I don't recall having an overly cheesed pizza at TOPP. Obviously, this concept is popular, as there are more than two of this type of place in town and more locations are popping up. Pizza Studio is a solid addition. Hopefully, they'll get the kinks worked out of their service and (hint, hint) soon offer beer/wine or something imbibable to go with your pizza.

Really really excellent pizza. I just love these new pizza places that cooks your pizza in super hot ovens. Everything just comes out to perfection. You pick your crust, you pick your sauce, you choose your cheese. You can pick as many toppings that will fit on the pizza. Very good salad that is not pre packaged like some of the other new fast pizza places. They are new so some of the help was a little befuddled at times. The manager came over to ask how we were liking our pizza. Of course, we told them the truth. It is really fantastic. We chose the rosemary herb for our crust and pesto sauce with all the bells and whistles that could fit on our pizza. So so good. We'll definitely return to this place. The parking is a little tough. Bad corner with lots of traffic and busyness. Great place for the kiddies also. Don't have to wait and wait till the pizza arrives.

I like this place! I went today with work friends, we each got a different pizza and tried each others - it was awesome! I liked the margarita pizza the best. The sauce was a beautiful color, and I loved how when they bring you the pizza, they say "here is your delicious pizza"! We got fresh basil for the top, and price is fantastic for what you get!! The pizza here is excellent and Daiya cheese is available at no extra charge. The Gluten Free crust isn't vegan though. The rest of the crusts are. It's a little oily for my taste but good. Go for all the veggies and don't let them skimp on the cheese. They have a scoop for the dairy cheese but there isn't one for the vegan one so they grab small handfuls (which isn't quite enough). Note the University location doesn't have the vegan cheese. Only this one.

I have to say, I came in here with very low expectations. My husband had been here a few times and really enjoyed it, but he and I differ in our opinions of what really good pizza is. He dragged me here, proclaiming that I would really like it, too. We walked in and were not greeted at all by the two guys near the door. Only after we stood there, waiting to order, did one guy finally say "hi". Actually, he didn't so much say it as whisper it, seemingly hoping that we were like T-rexs, and if he didn't move we would just leave. I was not impressed and was not looking forward to my pizza. I ordered the rosemary crust with pesto, mozzarella, chicken, artichoke hearts and roasted onions. It all looked promising enough, but I was still not convinced that I would want to come back. My pizza went through this weird toaster thing, and it was done. Then came the moment of truth. I bit into it, and it was actually really, really good. Then I had to concede this to my husband, who gloated. The pesto was fresh tasting, even if it was a little bit on the salty side, the veggies were good and the chicken lacked that yicky chicken gristle that assaults me when I get pizza at a few other places. The only reason for the 4 and not 5 stars is because the service was lacking, and I feel like if they cooked it on a screen instead of a pan the crust wouldn't be so soggy (it's really not that soggy, and I still REALLY enjoyed the heck out of my pizza, it's just one of those..."if I had to change something it would be this" sort of thing)

So delicious! Customizing your pizza is a snap and the flavors are fantastic. You choose your crust, sauce, cheese, toppings, and flavor garnish so it can be as plain Jane or as out of this world as you want. The friendly and cheerful staff was incredibly accommodating of my food allergies, right down to getting a fresh cutter for my pizza. As my dinner partner put it, this is the chipotle of pizza: you queue up at the door and dictate how much of whatever you want and it's one price, no matter how much you pile on. The restaurant was sparkling clean, comfortable, and the vibe was super friendly and welcoming. The wall is adorned with pieces by local artists and while some of it delves into the avant garde, it's all tastefully eclectic without being overwhelmingly disjointed. My only complaint? While you can order a shake of truffle salt on your pizza, basic salt and pepper are unavailable, even by request. Traditional pizza toppers of Parmesan and pepper flakes are available, along with hot sauce, but plain ol' salt is not available at all.

I've had so many good experiences here--I just love that you are so vegan-friendly, and I've turned many a friend on to your awesome pizza! I don't add any cheese to my pizza, but my friends appreciate that you are the only location of any of the fast-pizza chains in town to offer vegan cheese at no extra charge. The other Pizza Studio in town doesn't even OFFER vegan cheese. Today's experience was less than stellar, though. I imagine the number of people at tables and in line reflected an after church rush, and for the most part, your employees handled it very well. They got us through the pizza assembly process efficiently, but after paying and sitting down, the process broke down. The pizza took a lot longer than usual to come out and when it did, it was clear that it had been waiting for a bit before delivery to the table because the pizza was only lukewarm instead of piping hot. I'll be back. I'm somewhat addicted. But I don't think I'll come for lunch on a Sunday again.

We tried Pizza Studio about a week or so ago and found it to be a pretty solid fast food restaurant. If we hadn't already tried Pionic across town and become spoiled by their dough and flavors, Pizza Studio might have seemed better, but alas, it is what it is and it's still a decent place to grab a bite. They have an ok selection of toppings, sufficient to make a tasty pizza. Plenty of fresh veggies and some meats, cheese, and sauces. Everything was fresh. Some items were a little confusing, maybe due to the staff being new and very stiff, maybe due to the layout, maybe something else I can't figure out. The garlic is by the sauce station, not the topping station, so my pizza had to go backwards in line when I asked if they had garlic. Their drizzles weren't really displayed so I didn't know they existed until afterwards, so I had to go back to the counter and get a side cup of some (which means it didn't get cooked with the pizza and blend with the flavors, meh). And no one told me they were going to add dried herbs that I didn't ask for -- nor want -- to the pizza before cooking it. I know all of these things for next time, which is good, but the process, in general, should be a little bit less...confused. The balsamic drizzle, though, is really outstanding and goes well with their pizza! Give it a try! It was my favorite part of the meal! The flavor of the pizza was good. The sauce was light but tasty. The ingredients were fine. The dough (I got the regular dough, but you can get wheat or a spicy dough which is a neat idea) didn't get cooked enough and was soggy, despite it being super thin. I would say that's because they don't actually "cook" it, they just run it through a salamander. That's just not good enough for pizza, unless you like it droopy and sad, which I don't. It was a fine tasting dough for pizza, though! Overall, I would eat at Pizza Studio again. Everything tasted fine. The prices are fair. The staff will work out the kinks and the process will be smoother. They were all friendly, and that's always a good start! The restaurant was clean and employees were constantly walking around making sure it remained that way. It is spacious and comfortable. If you like to customize your food, give Pizza Studio a try!

Went here with the fam today for the first time. We got the meticulous service that only comes with having a whole staff fresh out of training. Hopefully their level of service stays high as time goes on and as staff interaction sounds a little less customer-service-textbook. I got the garden pizza, which I really enjoyed. Know, however, that they finish the pizza with a very generous brushing of olive oil; I already dab fat off pizzas, so this left me with a fat stack of drenched napkins. The very fast cooking time was a nice change for a pizza place. Definitely good of you like thin crust. I would gladly go back.

Our experience at Pizza Studio was a big negative! The place closes at 10:00 on Saturday nights. We went in shortly after 9:00 and it was empty...no one at the counter or in the restaurant. We ordered pizza and sodas. The soda machine had no ice. We asked for some and never got a straight answer. The pizza was soggy and oily. They use an oven more like the ones in a sandwich shop and so the crust never quite cooked well and was still soft...too soft to hold a slice of pizza to eat it. You need utensils. Now for the dining area... it was filthy. There are half booth style tables, but literally every table was dirty. The comment from the staff was that he planned to clean it. This was 45 minutes before closing. All chairs were stacked well before 9:30. People came in and asked if the place was open. We feel bad for the owner. What a disasterous team of employees for a new restaurant. He should know that the reputation of his business is being impacted by his inept team. Sorry to be harsh, but Pizza Studio is definitely a thumbs down in all ways...food, atmosphere, and staff.

Awesome. We've been here a couple of times now and were really happy each time. The staff is really friendly, the options are great, you can literally make any combination you can think of as they have a huge selection of toppings. You can choose from several different crusts, I've personally tried three of them and they were all delicious. The gluten free crust is really good, you cannot tell the difference. You pick your toppings, there are even finishing touches and drizzles to choose from, they bake it in what seems like five minutes and then deliver it to your table cooked perfectly. The staff checks on you regularly. Recommend!

Daughter has been telling me about how she loves the one by the UofA. We decided to give them a try at their new east side location. Excellent flavored pizza crust and easy on pocket. Pizza is big enough for 2 or for 1 if you're really hungry and don't want to share. Staff was friendly and helpful. Placed our order and had our pizza at our table in under 5 minutes. This was a nice change of pace especially for pizza.

Omg. Love! Friendly staff, clean restaurant. Our first time tonight - the Groupon got us in the door. It was a good experience from start to finish. Great tasting pizza and crust. The variety of signature pizzas and toppings for creating your own were just right, not too little, not too much. The rosemary herb and whole wheat crust were very tasty - there's even more variety there too! We will definitely be back :)

Clean atmosphere. Loved that there was a variety of crusts to choose from and enjoyed the Rosemary herb. My favorite part...thin crust!! I didn't see many choices of sauces, maybe I missed it, but all I saw was marinara and olive oil. I saw a variety of cheeses but didn't know which one was which, server just assumed mozarella. The topping that could be added is fresh spinach. I saw a cooked down option of it but didn't look good. Overall, the crust didn't make me full but all the toppings did :) so 2 thumbs up and will be back when I'm craving pizza again

Heard a coworker talking about this joint and he was raving about it and I can see why! It's amazing! Starting from the beginning, I went with a friend right after church (12ish) and it wasn't too packed. We were immediately greeted by a warm and friendly staff who made sure that we had the best experience ever. The whole experience from choosing how we wanted our pizza to finally paying was fast and easy to. So $7.99 gets you your pizza, any crust, unlimited toppings! And the choices! So many choices! I wanted to choose all of them! They have your basic toppings (i.e. Pepperoni, bacon, mushrooms, etc.) but they also had toppings like zucchini, artichoke hearts, roasted bell peppers, salami, buffalo sauce, and so many others! And then you can top it off with a seasoning before it goes in the oven. The one I chose was called "Old Bay Seasoning", but first I asked what was in it. Being such a new restaurant the gentleman helping me didn't know, but he promptly took the time to look it up to better serve me which was much appreciated, and it tasted great! Final price for me and my date was $17.something, which not bad for a lunch for two. And finally the taste! It was SO great! Probably the best pizza I've had in a long time. In fact, I would go as far to say this might be one of the best, if not the best, pizza joints in Tucson. All I can say is that I highly recommend you to try it for yourself, I know I will definitely being going back. Congratulations, Pizza Joint and staff, you have just become my new favorite pizza place is Tucson.

I have been to this location several times and love it. The staff is friendly and the food is always good. If you've never been they make sure to explain everything step by step so you get exactly what you want. It is a great place to take children or adults. They even have a gluten free crust and it is quite tasty. I would definitely suggest Pizza Studio to anyone.

I had heard many wonderful things about this place and decided to try it today. We walked in the door and a gentleman said hello which was appreciated. We looked at the menu on the wall for a couple of minutes and than stepped over to the counter to order. We had a similar experience as other reviewers mentioned where a different gentleman than the one that greeted us said "what can I get you" in a whisper. I could almost not hear him. I proceeded to tell him what I wanted and I just felt like his speed at making the pizza was kinda slow. Maybe they don't stress to there employees about how fast they should be but it does make a difference if ur taking your sweet time or if you are making the food like your enjoying what your doing. This gentleman just looked like he wanted to be anywhere else but there making pizzas and it just made the mood for me disappointing. I walked into this nice looking establishment and the mood/environment just wasn't fun or inviting. Now onto the actual taste of the food. I got the firecracker crust and also previously mentioned, it wasn't spicy the least bit. It had a good flavor, but with a name like "firecracker" and me being an absolute LOVER of spiciness, I was for sure expecting some kick from it. My boyfriend who doesn't handle spicy things very well couldn't taste any hotness to it either. My toppings were onions, jalapeños, pepperoni, banana peppers and truffle salt. My only wish is that you guys offered fresh jalapeños in addition to pickled. Pickled just don't taste anywhere the same. Than the pizzas went into this conveyer belt oven thing to cook. As convenient as that is, I would feel more like my food was pampered rather than just thrown together and cooked by itself with a machine, if you guys used a tradition fire oven. The taste of the pizza was pretty good. The crust was just the right thickness and had a pleasant flavor. (You know how, you usually just don't eat the crust on pizzas cause it's usually bland and no flavor? Well this was totally opposite!.) So in conclusion, the service was mah, definitely could have been better and more upbeat and looking like you actually care about what your doing. The original gentleman that greeted us as we came in did come over to clear plates a couple times and ask about the food. He really seemed genuine about it and that helped lessen my earlier feelings from the other guy. The pizza itself was very decent and I really enjoyed it. The crust was flavorful but wished it had even a hint of spiciness since that's how it's advertised. The topping were fresh and delicious. Add fresh jalapeños! The price was also very nice!! Usually places charge 50 cents or more per topping but not here!! Also the pizza was just the perfect size. I didn't leave feeling like I just ate enough food for a month like I usually do with pizza, which is better not to feel like that in my opinion. I wasn't left hungry, nor did I feel like I ate to much. I also think that you guys need bigger water cups! I love water and having to get up several times during my meal just to get more water was annoying and not very pleasurable. Seeing any restaurant offer tiny little cups for water also makes me as the customer feel like scum a little. I realize it's to prevent people from getting free soda, but you have to remember that people who want to cheat and get soda without paying are going to no matter what size cups. So in the process of offering tiny water cups ur making the customers who don't drink soda feel almost like there being accused of taking free soda just by the size of your water cup. So yes I will be back to have it again in the future! And I also want to try those delicious looking cookies! I'm also hoping that all the employees are on the same page next time of mood and customer service. The water cups need to be bigger as well. There are plenty of good not to big cups out there.

What a wonderful find!!! The service was super nice and very helpful. They have several crusts to choose from and they are vegan. They also have a gluten-free crust. The meats have no artificial ingredients, hormone free, and cruelty free. How great is that!! The cheese is grated daily and the veggies are roasted daily. My pizza came very fast and was perfect. I will definitely be back. P.s. They also support local artist by having work on the walls for sale and they do not charge them a commission. I think that is wonderful!!!!!

I have been to this location several times, and while the food is good, I've seen several kinks in the service. The biggest of these is that whoever is making your pizza is not consistent in the amount of toppings if you make your own. One girl, who seems to be the manager, rocks and will load it up to make it worth the 7.99 price. The other people who have made it...I've had to ask for more of each topping and sometimes even more sauce because it doesn't cover the whole pie. The issue I have with this place though is the little things. One time I came and no crusts were made, even though no one was eating there. No cookies either. Another time I asked for olives on the margarita pizza, and they wanted to charge me 2.00 for olives, even though thats the only topping I wanted. I've asked for a water cup in the larger size cup because I'm pregnant and drink water practically by the gallon, but apparently that's not cool either because then I have to pay 2.00 for the cup....of tap water. While I "get" that rules are rules, little things like that go a long way. Like...not making a 9 month pregnant woman get up to refill water multiple times while trying to eat lunch.

I've been to both locations in tucson and I have to say the service here is nothing compared to the one on Park Ave. I specifically ordered the Island pizza because the price is 5.99 rather than 7.99. I was incorrectly rung up and when I brought it up no one made any effort to correct their error. I know that $2 is not that big of a deal but I went out of my way to get a cheaper option because I wanted to get a drink as well and normally don't enjoy spending $10+ which is what it would have come out to. So, overall I would have to say I LOVE pizza studio (it's my favorite of the customizable pizza places) but I will have to go to the other location over this one if I was decent service.

I went on a Sunday around 7 and the place was completely empty. Was excited to see the unique variety of crusts. They were out of a quite a few toppings and there was not a large variety of toppings. Disappointed in only one variety of sauce. I personally thought that Pionic had a much larger variety of toppings. Cooking the pizza was fast around 3 or so minutes, the pizza looked yummy and I was excited to take a bite. Much to my disappointment it was very greasy and the crust was SOGGY!. The topping fell off due to the soggy yuck. Maybe cooking the pizza longer would help this don't know. Don't think I will go back!

Jesus this place sucks. Been going to Pionic which is the same concept so I thought I'd try this place. My advice skip it. The guy behind the counter was annoyed at helping us. Which is odd since there are no ingredient labels, so you have to ask what almost everything is. Halfway during his order he starts socializing with a friend who showed up. Then got grumpy when he got back to serving. Ingredients were limited and many trays were empty. I'm definitely driving past this place when I had to Pionic. Very impressed with this place. As soon as you walk in the door the staff explains everything. I've been there 3 times and each time the staff is extremely friendly and enjoy giving you a hard time, in a good way. Several options from crusts, toppings, seasonings, and additional add one like balsamic glaze. I recommend really thinking about how well your toppings go together, cause I unfortunately picked toppings that weren't so great... Lol... No one to blame but myself, and it was still enjoyable. I've recommended to friends, and they've fallen in love too...

Just like subway, but PIZZA ! I had no idea this place opened by my place. I love the the idea of customizable personal pizzas. $5.99 for your basic pizza, $8.99 for a custom pizza with unlimited toppings! You can choose what type of crust you want, I got the firecracker. It was pretty good! The only downfall I had for this place was that they cook your pizza in a little roller and the bottom of my pizza was still kinda soggy...granted I did put ever topping, meat, sauce and cheese imaginable so I'm not surprised the crust wasn't crunchy and flakey. I had to eat my pizza with a knife and fork it was so heavy and not sturdy. Extra pros: You can put toppings on after it's gone through the cooker, so you can have fresh cut (not cooked) toppings too. Other places just throw it all together and cook everything. I will be back!

Apathetic service. Salads to avoid, unless you don't mind them being mostly lettuce or greens and little else. And you'll have to toss your own. Fresher than McDonald's, but that's a low bar. Stick to the pizza.

I have to say I was not expecting much the first time I came here. I was somewhat intrigued when I saw them go into this location but never really had a reason to go until my work handed out gift cards to this place as an incentive. So now I had to try them. I think the first time through, the staff could do a better job of explaining the process and making recommendations. They do seem a bit robotic in their pizza making, and I have seen some mixed level of skill at properly applying sauce to a crust during my couple of trips back. Thing is, now I've been a few times, and I'm practically a pro. I like the rosemary crust, and their red sauce is robust and flavorful. I have them add a good amount of garlic to the pie before the cheese goes on--highly recommended. Various toppings aside, I like that I can add garlic powder and "truffle salt" to my pie before it cooks. I usually have them finish with basil, though I'm excited to try the balsamic drizzle one of these times. The pie is actually quite delicious, much better than I ever thought it would be first time going in. My only recommendation if it were possible would be to do away with the pans they cook the pies in or use a screen, something that allows better heat transfer to the bottom of the pie. Its not that it comes out raw or something, but it is flimsy the way they cook it now and I definitely prefer something with a bit more chew. The price is quite good for what you're getting: a completely customized 10" pie with as many toppings as you want. I usually walk out paying about 10 bucks including a drink. That combined with the fact that they are quick makes this place a great lunch option for me. I will be back very soon, I'm sure.

We went there with the groupon and left disappointed. Their toppings are limited and very uncreative. They didn't have Alfredo sauce, ricotta, basil, corn, or even baby tomatoes! We were unhappy because they didn't have very many options other than the usual pizza toppings. The crust also was not crispy. I prefer Pieology! They put their pizza in an actual fire oven rather than a toaster.

I LOVE this place! Friendly staff, great food, comfortable seating, and good prices. You get to choose what you want and on this first visit I chose rosemary herb as my crust....watched it being made fresh right there in front of me. Awesome. Then I got to choose my sauce...went traditional... and my cheese.....went traditional...and pineapple and mushrooms with a shake or two of the chipotle powder. Then watched them pop it in the oven after brushing it with garlic olive oil and out it came about 2 minutes later. Delivered to our table. It was a busy place this day so I think the word is getting out to the masses. Love the local artists' work on the walls. Love how the staff checks on you to make sure you're happy with your pizza. Marveled at all the healthy choices and the freshness of the food. And boy, I'll tell ya, that pizza was really, really tasty. Think crust and done perfectly. I still love Renee's vegetarian pizza but this place is now on my favorite list, too.

I'll admit I'm a big fan of this new unlimited-topping design-your-own-pizza trend. And while I don't think Pizza Studio is the best of Tucson's many choices in this genre, I do think it's a strong offering and the best choice on the East side. The selection of pizza toppings is by no means exhaustive, but they have all the standard items and a few nice surprises -- like the sweet chicken sausage. There are several interesting crusts to choose from. I picked the Firecracker, which is purported to contain cayenne pepper. I didn't notice any heat from it, though. Their ingredients are fresh and plentiful, and the speed of service is good. I think it'll be even better when they've been open a little longer and the staff is more confident. Despite pizzas being made one at a time, my group of 5 people had time to get all our pizzas and eat, with time left in the lunch hour. It's hard to review Pizza Studio without comparing it directly to the other similar restaurants in town. Pizzas here are cooked on a small conveyor through a countertop oven, which is different from competitors who are using a large, open oven. At least one competitor has twice the number of available toppings that I saw here. This is also a pizza-only business (they had a small clamshell of salad, and a bagged cookie available too), while some others offer full salads or pastas. None of these are actually bad things. For me, this trip to Pizza Studio was enough to put it on my Eastside lunch list. Its real advantage over its competition is that it's less than a mile from work. And actually, it was pretty decent pizza.

Prices are low for a 'custom' pizza but they don't use an oven, they use a toaster like you might put a bagel on.....so watch out for raw dough underneath the cheese and sauce. Salads are also build-your-own for $2.99 Fountain drinks (Coke products) are $1.99 We had a Groupon otherwise I would've been REALLY disappointed.
