After a few months of not coming to pei Wei, I brought my mom to have dinner and to our surprise they no longer have spicy Korean, our favorite dish. We tried the spicy pei Wei. Unfortunately the rice was dry and the food had no flavor. We were disappointed. I guess the only good thing was the drink and table availability. We are not going to pei Wei again.

Used to love Pei Wei but the portion sizes have decreased in size to the point that it is no longer worth the value. A also ordered spicy tuna roll that was cold because it came out of the refrigerator from the night before. No longer a go to restaurant

I just posted two not so nice reviews so my soul needs a little joy and Pei Wei always generates joy for my soul and my belly. It's no surprise I can be a picky orderer. Last year I had a bariatric sleeve gastrectomy and nothing gets me fired up like places where I can't order anything (see my Diablo Burger review) and at Pei Wei my options are limitless and that makes Pei Wei almost always my first choice. I've ordered lettuce wraps, sushi, small orders of just about everything. food can be customized to be grilled not fried. Veggies can be substituted for rice and as I said before they offer small portions of everything. My kids can't get enough of their chicken teriyaki and their kids portions are generous and inexpensive. My husband salivates over the honey chicken and I salivate over the fact that I have options beyond "I guess I'll have the salad" which it so often comes down to at other restaurants. The fast casual atmosphere is relaxed enough for the family but upscale enough for a date. Pei-Wei definitely gets my highest rating!

I hadn't been to Pei Wei for quite a while but when I went the other day, I enjoyed it. The new lettuce wraps were really tasty and I liked that their soda machine had several diet options. I think the food at Pei Wei is very good, not too pricy, and is served in a casual atmosphere that makes it a great place for lunch!

They gave us an extra teriyaki chicken for no reason. That was awesome. I've always enjoyed the food here...but the service is great. You know, just a fusion chain. Nothing earth shattering. Solid move with the extra food tho

Yummy yummy yummy!!! The chicken was not dry at all (I got the sesame and Mom got the teriyaki). They were amazing and also we have rice and noodles, both good. The only thing I didn't like was the snicker doodle, which was soft but weird-tasting. The chicken was also skimpy and I felt like I needed more (especially for it being expensive). Yummy food though

This is an especially convenient location because it's just across the street from my office. Although I usually come here at around 2 PM, I have never seen it too packed in here and there is hardly ever a line. The restaurant is clean and decently-sized (although much smaller than other Pei Wei locations I have visited). The lunch menu is affordable and both the Traditional Chicken Lettuce Wraps and the Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps (both less than $8) have always been tasty and generously portioned.

Every Saturday, my office orders takeout from this Pei Wei. We've never ever had a problem ordering, and on one occasion, I made a mistake ordering online, and I called in and the manager promptly took care of everything! The speediness, friendliness, and accuracy of this restaurant keeps us coming back! I recently tried one of their salads and it was incredible. Portion sizes are huge, so I usually order from the kids menu. I recommend the sriracha chicken, honey seared chicken, or chicken teriyaki. They are very accommodating with requests for things on the side, extra sauce, etc.

Pei Wei, I'd have given you five stars myself but I thought I'd just quote my kids this time (ages 6, 8, 10). "We LOVE the Coke machine!" (144 flavor combinations.) "I want more of Dad's Dynomite chicken!" (Thai Dynomite is one of my favs.) "Look at ALL those fortune cookies!" (Then I slap hands, informing them one-apiece) "What's IN this rice that makes it so yummy?!" (That's the magic, I say, straight faced. They hire elves from Santa - that's why Pei Wei is closed on Christmas Day.) "Can I have some of yours?!" (Our table looks like a dorm room disaster, with plates everywhere, each with a sampling of rice and meats, sauces and leftover bits of egg rolls. Hands are reaching between plates to try whatever suits their fancy - and everything suits their fancy. I just like saying suits and fancy. Fancy suits. See?) "Show me how to use the chapstick again." (They mean chop stix, but I love hearing them say it so I rarely correct them.) So yeah... fantastic food, always hot and fresh, with good options for lighter cooking styles (rubbish, I say - bring on the original!) and great sides. Pei wei is a HUGE favorite at my work - and that's saying something for a picky crowd that loves to eat out for lunch, considering there are a LOT of great choices nearby. The meats are always tender - never a gristly bit. The rice is always perfect - never clumped or mushy. The food is always hot, even the egg rolls, which some places tend to have laying around on a warmer til someone orders them (but not here). Yes, Pei Wei does what it does fantastically well, every time. It's definitely a favorite, even if it is a "chain" (boo on me, I know, but it's soooo good)!

This is one of those reviews that I'm really hoping someone at management will read and deal with. I'm not someone who is obsessed with Pei Wei, but I have been there many times in many locations and its essentially a good, quick, fairly inexpensive Americanized pan-asian meal in a modern and inviting atmosphere. In just about every location Ive been, there are some nights that this place is just bustling--line out the door, all hands on deck. I've never really understood the mass appeal in that sense, but I agree there are some things this place does quite well. As a chain, I would give Pei Wei like 4-4.5 stars because they do what they do quite well, and its consistent and good. This location, however, has quite a bit of work that needs to be done with regards to the staff. I've been twice now: once during the busy hours of a Friday night around 8PM for a pickup order, and the other for a more calm Wednesday lunch. Ironically, the seemingly easier to handle lunch date was more difficult for the Pei Wei staff to handle. Everyone seemed to be in a bad mood, it took a long time for the order to come out, and when it did, I found hair in it. Gross. Further, the hedgehog-like server brought both my soup and my meal to me by dropping them onto my table and then quickly shuffling away without so much as a "here you go". It was rude, to say the least. I had never before tried their hot and sour soup, so I did. Don't bother. It tastes like beef broth and not much else. It was lacking in flavor and texture from the dearth of bamboo shoots, mushrooms and other veggies one would expect in HSS. Further, HSS should not have an overwhelming beef flavor. If anything, pork is the meat of choice...anyway, I could go on and on here because I love good HSS, but this is not that and that's all you need to know. The thing is, though, that Pei Wei makes a really fantastic Pad Thai. I will continue to come back for that, but my orders will probably stay in the take-out category. I want to emphasize that some restaffing needs to be done, or more staff training or something, because I normally enjoy Pei Wei. At this point, however, I wouldn't even remotely consider eating in again at this location.

Pei wei spicy with white rice and 6 potstickers. . .daddy is hungry. The level of ineptitude of the intellectually challenge amazes me when people don't know how to order. The place wasn't crowded, however, it was busy. I don't know why with the crap they served. Need better line cooks or Gordan Ramsey back there to light some fires. It tasted like uncooked dough. The potstickers were dried out prior to cooking. . .However, the orange Hi-C was good and the potsticker sauce was on par.

A lot of things Pei Wei makes are sweet. My crab puffs came in a shallow puddle of their sweet chili sauce which I could have really done without. The kids meal was also very sweet. About the best thing you can get here if you are a savory lover is the Ground Pork Egg Rolls. You dip them in hot mustard and they're really scrumptious. The table service here is fast & attentive-not waiters exactly but, they are the heart and soul of the seating area and keep the restaurant's table area clean & moving right along. Unsung heroes! (uh, now sung...i guess).

Yes, I realize that this is a chain restaurant. They have a limited menu (for a chinese restaurant), and they are the cheaper version of big brother PF Changs. They are still delicious! What they do, they do very well. The Spicy Korean is my favorite, with huge chunks of tender chicken, spiced just right. Their Dan Dan noodles are a close second. I wish the restaurant had some tv's, and an actual bar, but I guess if I wanted that, I could go to PF Changs and pay a little more. Overall, I prefer this food to most of what is served in the local mom and pop chinese restaurants around town.

Okay this is super white guy Asian food. My reasoning is because I am a white guy and it seems catered to me. Anyhow, if this was solely based on adult food I would give it a solid three stars. Foods okay, service is okay, and in general it's okay. So you may ask, or you may not, but here is the reason for the four stars. This place is kid crack. I get them the kids teriyaki chicken on low mein noodles with light sauce. I get the chicken stock velvet ( a little secret) it is steamed not fried meat. It makes the food take so much better. My kids constantly ask for "chicken and noodles". They love it. I tolerate it. Just got home from there thought I would share my secret.

I arrived around 11:30 a.m. today. I liked the new advertising promoting "fresh" ingredient so being health conscious and gravitating to fresh dishes, I ordered the chicken spring rolls. I ordered two but was given only one. It came to me ice cold and the rice paper wrapper was so tough I could not bite into it. I had to use my fork to take out the insides and found all the veggies and the chicken limp, soggy and not at all fresh! I tend to think it was left over from yesterday. I also ordered a side of ginger-garlic edamame which were stir-fried but most of them were cold. A very disappointing visit.

Always love Pei Wei, but hardly go to this location. Went twice here this week and both times disappointing. First visit I got lettuce wraps.. The meat was really fatty and chewy and the Carmel chicken which was kind of bland. Tonight I got teriyaki beef and the beef was undercooked, couldn't even eat it. Really disappointing because I have gotten both dishes before and always good. Maybe an off week? Eh think I'm done with the broadway location.

Nice restaurant. The food was decent. I wouldn't recommend this as a great Asian restaurant. I'll go back there again to give it another try. My visit could've been on a bad day for them. A very friendly staff.

This place is all around a nice comfortable and stylish way to enjoy lunch with friends and beat the heat! I usually stick with the mandarin Kung pow, as it seems to pack the punch I am looking for. Add some of that super amazing spicy chili paste and hot mustard and your guaranteed to sweet and bleed while you eat! Ahh nothing quite like the need to go back for another bite when you know damn well that another spoon full of chili paste is not needed but completely necessary!

I was in the mood for Pei Wei and stopped in at around 11am. They were VERY busy. However, still quick with the order I had my food within 10 minutes of ordering. The service was good and quick! The Japanese Chile Ramen is personal favorite of mine. It is always delicious!

Good lettuce wraps. Enough for two or leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Clean, inexpensive, quick. I love it.
I used to eat here a LOT since it was near my house. I never had a problem with the service, my order was always correct, and the staff members were always friendly. It's quick, it's tasty, and they have special menu items for special diet people. I went this weekend and I will go again in the future.

Just like her big sister, P.F. Chang's, this is decent mass-produced, yet fresh and tasty take on Chinese food. With just under an hour for lunch, this is just the place if you are craving Asian food a step up (taste and price) from Panda Express. I ordered the Pei Wei spicy with chicken and brown rice and it came out in about 3 minutes. More sweet than spicy. Crisp green beans and tender moist chicken, but lacking in flavor. Not bad, but not great.
(3)
Raul S.
Hit up Pei Wei's on Mother's Day. Hadn't been here since college I think. It's as I remember. Order at the counter, they bring your food out to you. Food is standard fast Asian food tasting. Think Panda Express and the like. Only difference is the ambiance is much nicer than Panda. They have fancy digital menus out front. And a sleek but stubborn digital drink dispenser that didn't want to give me water. 5 stars if they can get R2-D2 to bring me my food.
(3)
Melinda D.
Meh. Salty, Americanized Asian food. Their hot and sour soup tasted like beef broth. They were out of steamed white rice. Really? Seriously? How does that happen? It was OK, We had a gift card, but I wouldn't pay real money to eat here.
(2)
Paul L.
3 stars for the food, 1 for service. A line almost to the door, and the slowest person is taking orders. If standing waiting to order longline, order than you are siting down dining, I will call In orders if I really have to eat here... And this is the 2nd time in 10 years. Maybe thats why I wil go elsewhere. Plenty of places to sit, because everyone is in is avoiding the tables with food all over the floor.
(3)
Jodi J.
I like to have lunch here and usually this is cool spot to check out all the guys from Davis Mothan AFB who almost always seem to end up here. I like that they have vegitarian choices for my husband who is a vegan and all the other things I like with meat in them. :)
(4)
Aaron S.
Great artisan asian cuisine, great atmosphere & service. Pei Wei certainly has the best sauces and chicken (grilled) along with great Lo mein, and could be the best Kung Pao, if only the dish weren't missing zucchini I like in my kung pao.
(4)
Jesse E.
Maybe it's because I've been starved for good Asian food for so long, but wow. Delicious! My only gripe would be that they really drown the food in sauces. Next time i go, I'll be asking them to take it easy on the sauce. I like to taste the ingredients. With that said, still awesome.
(5)
Eve S.
Great option for a less expensive version of PF Chang's. It's consistent and tasty which I appreciate. The thing that bothers me about this place is how loud it always is. I can go at 3pm when no other customers are there and the kitchen sounds and music alone are straight-up obnoxious. I guess that's the price you pay for watching the chefs make your food in the open, but I would not advise going here for a quiet meal for a one-on-one chat or to attempt reading a book.

A friend of mine ordered food and being the second of 10 people to order he ended up getting his food last. (though I didn't look at the clock it must have been about 30 minutes) Not only did he get his food last, when they brought the order it was wrong; so they had to make it again. Eventually, they got it right and they gave him a coupon for free lettuce wraps and a $10 gift card to make up for the error. Though they messed up, they made up for it with good customer service. I wasn't going write about the bad service, but making up for it is something that needs to be celebrated! They deserve a thumbs up. Food is decent too. It's not amazing, but it's never bad. And the service is usually pretty quick.
(4)
Claire H.
I would give one star, but it is clean. This is the dumbed-down version of Asian food. Um, could I please have some flavor? Where are the spices that make this food ethnic? This is the place to eat if you don't like Asian food, because it isn't. Thank-you chain, for making a culture fit into a homogenized American box that no one can find offensive, because there is no distince flavor.

This is one of our favorite places to go. It has excellent food and reasonable prices. I like Pei Wei's set-up where you order in the front and they will bring the food to you... You have to get your own drink, which I actually like... I think more restaurants should utilize this concept. Great food, good prices, and nice environment. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu...

Me & my girl found this place by accident. The decor inside deserves alot more attention than what it look outside. There are 3 digital menu right next to the entrance for customers. After you decided on what to order you can then walk up to the cashier to order, pay, and get a number. You'll then find a seat of your choice, or get your drink on the way. We stayed there for over an hour since we were rely for a flight. We saw that most of the orders were pretty quick and the staffs were all friendly. The food is better than what you pay for, plus the overall experience, I hve to say that it was a pleasent one. Their menu has fusion food of chinese, japanese, Korean, Thai, and Vietnamese. If u r looking for a quick lunch with pretty good food at a good price, this is the place. This place reminds me of panda express, but with alot nicer interior decor, service, and choices on the menu, at about the same price.

Almost every dish I saw today looked so goopy with sauce! I still think the north location is the best. I ordered a chicken salad, and that actually has a lot of arugula on there - just a heads up. There was black sesame seeds on the chicken, so that's what the chicken meant. I always like the option of brown rice as sides. Most entrees are $7-8.

Only been to this location once with a client. Good food, just as you would expect. Good for people living on the east side. Really shows that the location makes the University avenue location so much better. Still, good food, quick, and cheap.

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

"I want more of Dad's Dynomite chicken!" (Thai Dynomite is one of my favs.) "Look at ALL those fortune cookies!" (Then I slap hands, informing them one-apiece) "What's IN this rice that makes it so yummy?!" (That's the magic, I say, straight faced.

Good prices consistent decent quality food, fairly tasty. Good atmosphere. Again consistent and reliable.

I love it.

Menu kind of mimics the PF Chang's chain to some degree. At the counter I ordered the Mongolian Beef with white rice and got a six count order of the eggrolls. The cashier tilted her head to the side as to look and see if there was somebody standing behind me. Not seeing anyone she gave me a once over to sized me up, looked at the register, provided my dinner total (which was about $16), and gave me a table stand with my order number. When the server arrived I realized why the cashier had that strange look on her face. The eggrolls are not the dumpling size you get at PF Chang's. They were the size of a roll of fifty cent pieces and I had six of em. Well I didn't finish them and had to get a carry out box. The Mongolian Beef portion was pretty healthy and very flavorful. Nice décor, large selection of entrees, good eats, and average prices.

(3)Melinda D.
Meh. Salty, Americanized Asian food. Their hot and sour soup tasted like beef broth. They were out of steamed white rice. Really? Seriously? How does that happen? It was OK, We had a gift card, but I wouldn't pay real money to eat here.
(2)Paul L.

I like to have lunch here and usually this is cool spot to check out all the guys from Davis Mothan AFB who almost always seem to end up here. I like that they have vegitarian choices for my husband who is a vegan and all the other things I like with meat in them. :)
(4)Aaron S.
Great artisan asian cuisine, great atmosphere & service. Pei Wei certainly has the best sauces and chicken (grilled) along with great Lo mein, and could be the best Kung Pao, if only the dish weren't missing zucchini I like in my kung pao.
(4)Jesse E.
Maybe it's because I've been starved for good Asian food for so long, but wow. Delicious! My only gripe would be that they really drown the food in sauces. Next time i go, I'll be asking them to take it easy on the sauce. I like to taste the ingredients. With that said, still awesome.
(5)Eve S.

Food is excellent, restaurant is clean, and well staffed. Menu is a bit confusing.
(4)Jonathan L.
