Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

What can I say about my favorite quick burrito place in my hometown Tucson, Arizona! I grew up eating the #1 breakfast burrito, super fries, and everything else on the menu. Moving away to NYC makes you really miss and realize there's nothing more comforting than the sight of little cups of green and red sauce. There's no rice and beans filled in these burritos like the rest of the tex-mex places you find all over the east coast! People claim authenticity, I get excited, I cry from disappointment, and I wish I was diving into a plate of super fries back in Tucson. It's all about the tortillas! When you can feel the flour still on the burrito, you know you're biting into a chewy, fresh, and delicate masterpiece. Nothing will replace this iconic place for everyone who grew up in Tucson. I always grab two burritos on my way to airport every time and I never regret it. I just wish I had an endless supply!!

Really good, always consistent Nico's! Tucked away near Basha's Grocery, this is a small place with a few indoor and outdoor spots but mostly a take-out. The food is piping hot and fresh, and the beans are cooked without lard. I had a custom made egg, bean and potato burro, and it tasted so clean, not greasy, and refreshing and not salty at all (I think the lack of lard helps!). The burro was $5.00+ and packed and served in a yummy warm tortilla. I love coming here, and I like the Coca-Cola lamps over the booths. So out of place!

This Nico's deserves the most praise out of all the other Nico's I've ever been to because it the cleanliest and best managed. If I do choose to eat Nico's (it's more expensive than Paco's or Los Betos), it will only be at this location. Bean and cheese burrito was great!

If I could give them no stars, I would! $6.50 for a breakfast burrito, are you serious!? They are $3.40 and MUCH better at competitors It didn't help that the guy over the counter was completely rude! I just stopped by here cause it was on my way Never again!

I love their super-nachos and burros but I take 1 star off because I had their tostadas and omg it tasted awful everything else is amazing though!

On first entrance, it reminds me of an ole' Southern (as in South East USA) barbershop with the smell of cleanliness. The Coca-Cola lamp shades, historic signage and wall menus behind the cashier help to compliment the theme nicely. I ordered the veggie burrito and drink in an effort to eat healthy. They offer free water which will help the cost sensitive eater. They have a credit card minimum where they add a surcharge to your order but my order exceeded that easily. There is a lot to love about this small cozy place. My veggie burrito was perfectly balanced with beans, rice, sour cream and guacamole. I love that they provide fresh verde (green) and roja (red) sauces in pre-packed containers at the counter. The next time I visit, and I will, I may try the Fish Taco Combo or the Nacho Supreme. Had my veggie burrito been slightly less costly or included sides, they would have earned a 5 star but a 4 star is well earned given the throw-back atmosphere and attention to detail.

Top five foods in the world, number 1 breakfast burrito. With eggs potatoes bacon and cheese it's amazing.

I hate it when I forget about good places to eat and end up at McDonald's. This place is awesome for breakfast.

I had the two shredded beef taco combination with rice and beans, and everything was delicious. My only slight complaint about this place is that their combinations are a bit overpriced considering what the individual items cost on their own (i.e. shredded beef tacos cost $2.59 each, and a 1/2 pint of rice or beans costs less than $2) yet the combination costs $8.59. Overall, this place is definitely a great spot to grab some quick and decently priced Mexican food. The service is friendly and the food is made quickly.

This family owned Nico's is delish! The carnitas hit the spot every time and the staff is always very friendly. If you're looking for good, quick Mexican food hit up Nico's on N. Swan.

Ok, I just moved to Tucson and I am in search of a good Carne Asada Burrito (and fish tacos for my wife). I thought I'd try this place out because it's close to my work. I ordered the burrito and it was done in a flash. I am used to San Diego taco shops where it takes them awhile to make everything. So, that was the first bad sign. The burrito was super hot, and I saw they must have grilled it after they assembled it. The carne asada was ok, but definitely the quality I'm used to. The entire burrito was also very salty to me. The guacamole, etc was ok. And, it was a smaller than average (or smaller than places in San Diego). I might try their fish tacos, but that's not really my expertise. I may try other things I like, but for now, I will keep searching.

This Nico's is tucked away in the Basha's shopping center up on Camp Lowell, and due to it's small size inside is really best suited for take out, in my opinion. There are a few tables if you feel like dining in, but it will fill up fast. This Nico's is also just a little bit different than some other locations, in that it doesn't have a #8 breakfast burrito- so if you want cheese and potato with your chorizo and egg it will be an upcharge on each item. I'm not thrilled about that, but the food is so good I don't care too much, either. With the chorizo, I love to add Cholula hot sauce. If you get the bacon, egg, cheese, and potato (#1, if I recall) breakfast burrito, the bacon was nice and crispy without being burnt, absolutely delicious, and their green salsa goes with the bacon very nicely. If you're really feeling like eating too much, get the Super Fries. French fries covered in sour cream, pico de gallo, cheese, guacamole, carne asada... Add a heaping helping of their red salsa or Cholula for some complimentary spice. The to-go box for the fries is downright heavy... They were out of churros the other day, but they typically have them and they're SO much tastier than flan! No funky flavorings or fillings- just cinammon sugary goodness for a buck. Good stuff. I stop here frequently because it's on the way home, clean, you get a lot for your money, and it tastes great. Of course, it's also the reason I have to keep hitting the gym... Definitely recommended as my NIco's of choice.

I love love love this place. If you want a quick fast food Mexican bit to eat that isn't Taco Bell here's the place. I personally love the California burrito, the green chile, and the Nico super fries! The food is great quick and delish! I love the fact there are so many locations we always have great customer service as well. Yum!

Even if you're not a fan of the burrito, you must go for the chile relleno burrito. I intended to take a photo, but couldn't wait to eat it....It is delicious beyond belief.

Went back in here for a second time and they stepped it up compared to the last time i was there.

Not the best Mexican food I have had in town or the cheapest. I expected it to be a bit cheaper, not that it was expensive for a fat food sort of place. But over all it's not a bad place to go. If you want authentic Mexican food while being so close to the border I wouldn't come here. But if American-ize Mexican food is what you are after, this is the place for you.

If I've been a good girl - eating yogurt and oatmeal for breakfast - during the week, I treat myself to a breakfast burro on Friday mornings. This is my go-to place. The first thing I notice when I walk in, is that the place is CLEAN! I've been in some icky taco shops in this town but this isn't one of them. The breakfast burros are great - perfect every time. I'm a fan of the chorizo burro, add potatoes or just a simple egg, potato and cheese burro. The potatoes are NOT leftover French fries from the night before (which is a common occurrence at some other places - ewww!). Haven't yet tried other menu items, but if the breakfast burros are any indication, it's all good.
