I heart pancakes. Any kind. Does not matter. I don't discriminate. After arriving at 11 in the morning on a Sunday with my travel buddy/husband, we were quickly taken to a table where a menu of pancake goodness awaited us. After what felt like a presidential debate in my head, I ordered the the Swedish pancakes and Mark went with something that had two eggs, hash browns, bacon, and a buttermilk pancake. Swedish pancakes how I love thee! Very similar to crepes, they are light enough to not feel guilty about how many calories must be being consumed. I loved the Lingonberry jam that came with it, not too tart but not too sweet either. I finished my plate! Mark cleaned his plate as well! His hash browns were not from a freezer bag as like so many are and were delightful (I kept sneaking bites). If I lived anywhere in the general vicinity, my jean size would increase.

Almost a 4 star.. Great food. Had potato pancakes that were excellent. Service could stand some work, although there is one server who has been there For a long period of time that always puts a smile on your face. Giving them some credit, one of our visits was on the day after Thanksgiving and try were busier than normal.

My family decided to finally try this restaurant after hearing great reviews from friends. We went on a Sunday morning and it was crowded and very warm inside. The server was super nice. Our meals of pancakes and Belgium waffles were nothing special and nothing we couldn't make at home. The potato pancakes were bland. Our meals came with only the pancakes on the plate and nothing else, not even a sprig of parsley to jazz it up. Very boring and we have no reason to return.

We go to Millie's every year when we visit relatives for Christmas. This year was our last. We heard it changed hands and boy does it show. We waited 2 hours to actually get our food from the time we sat down. That is not a typo. Half the dining room did not get their food either because the kitchen could not handle the orders. Our server kept telling us we should feel sorry for her, rather than offering any sort of apology (or a biscuit while we waited). We actually saw the kitchen staff goofing off and throwing food at each other. When the food finally did come, half the orders for our 6 top were wrong and the waitress simply grabbed the plates off of the table and walked away. We had to split 3 breakfasts among 6 people because we were so hungry. The food they did get right would have been tasty if it had been more than luke warm. Avoid this place like the plague!!!! Millie's used to be so good, it is truly a shame.

I hate giving Millie's 4 stars. I eat here almost every weekend. The *breakfast* food is top notch (with the exception of the biscuits and gravy.) If you don't try their belgian waffles, you are a nincompoop. They are that good. I probably couldn't even be friends with someone who doesn't like their waffles. Wow are they good. I've been eating here for years and years and years. The waffles... wow. That being said. The service is absolutely horrendous. And I still go. Every weekend. The waffles are that good.

Years ago, this was quite the breakfast spot...sadly, it is no longer the place I love 2 come for an awesome meal. I ordered the Millie's special w/scrambled eggs, ham, home potatoes and rye toast. When I got my breakfast, the rye toast looked like wheat and I queried the waitress, she informed me that "it's a homemade rye." The eggs and potatoes were lukewarm at best...I was then "treated" to a woman's braying, loud laugh, not unlike a donkey's throughout my meal. The waitress only asked me once how I liked the meal, to which I replied, "It's ok." She did not return. I had to ask more than once to have my coffee refilled...Needless to say, I won't be returning anytime soon...Viv's is much better & far cheaper...

The food is excellent. Waiting 60 minutes for it after ordering is not. I ordered a cheese omelet with a side of bacon and a short stack of pancakes. It was definitely tasty - the cook took care to make sure each bite had just the right amount of cheese. I'm never a big hash browns fan unless they're really crispy, so I didn't have much of those. The bacon was crispy and cooked perfectly. The wifey ordered Belgian Waffles, which she enjoyed thoroughly. Her words: "had I decided to pay 80 cents for whipped cream, they might have been *perfect*. But I'm not paying almost a dollar for somebody to go, [insert canned whipped cream impression here]." But the wait was horrendous. We were sat pretty quickly and our order was taken promptly. But as tables around us (who were sat after us) were served, we tried to keep our two-year-old occupied while he was incessantly asking whether it was time to eat yet. Also, a so-called family restaurant without a baby changing table? Don't get me started.

Great pancakes. Don't order the potatoes, they are very bland. The service was very very slow. We literally waited 40 minutes for our food. The waitress didn't offer refills on our drinks til after we had already got our plates. Overall the food was good enough to try again and hopefully we will have better luck with the service. If not, we will move on.

Went on a Saturday Morning not very busy when we got there . Our waitress was very friendly, always a plus !! I had eggs, hash browns and toast. It was good but not not Great . My friend had Eggs Benedict , she thought it was good but still not Great. Exactly what you would expect from this type of restaurant . It did get busier as we were there and it took our waitress a long time to bring the check . So overall not a bad place to eat but a place I will not frequent often.

There are no words, when you're a pancake lover like I am, for how I felt when I saw this place. I had to pinch myself and make sure I wasn't dreaming! I never know what I'm going to get when I randomly choose a place to eat without having checked it out first, but this just felt right, so, I went. Walked into a large restaurant with plenty of seating and staff. The decor is homey and quaint and my cousin and I and her girls were seated immediately. The waitress quickly came over and greeted us and had a great sense of humor. We were on the right track! Drinks were brought quickly and our order was taken without 10 minutes of sitting down. The menu is varied and large. You will have a difficult time choosing with all of the amazing choices. I'm a sucker for anything blueberry. Having lived in NYC and had what was supposedly the best blueberry pancakes in the city, I was a little hesitant as those were a blueberry nightmare. I ordered the blueberry pancakes, my cousin got the Belgian waffles with strawberries and cream and her girls got blueberry pancakes as well. The oldest even got a side of ice cream on the side (with a little maneuvering by our outstanding waitress, we were able to avoid the extra charge -- thank you!). I cannot begin to tell you how fabulous these pancakes were. The blueberries were IN the batter so every single bite had that tart, sweet blueberry-ness to them. The syrup was homemade with a really balanced flavor to it, not too sweet, not too bland...just right! They also had a warmed blueberry syrup, but I didn't want to overwhelm the pancakes. I did taste it and it was delicious and warm and it also had a really good flavor. My cousin really loved her waffles. We were fooled by the cream; we thought it was fresh, but it wasn't! Well done! I will eat at this place every single time I am in Tucson. It was spectacular!

Went here a second time while waiting for a friend getting her hair done next door. It was just as nasty as the 1st time :( Had biscuits and gravy with a side of potatoes Terrible. Gravy has NO TASTE...no pepper or sausage whatsoever. Good thing they serve it on the side so you don't know there isn't enough of it for the biscuits anyway. Potatoes were dry and hard. Waiters run around so busy like chickens with their heads cut off. (but mine was quite nice) Still took 10 minutes to be seated even though there were plenty of empty tables??? I don't think the young hostess knows what she is doing...Prolly shouldn't even be working there as she looks and acts 12. If it is close to closing, don't expect refills of any drinks as all the waiters are seated in the closed section eating themselves, chatting it up about how much they sold for the day :(

The b/f and I went here for a late breakfast Sunday morning. The wait wasn't too bad, about 15 minutes, but I'd been told to anticipate a wait for breakfast on the weekends. The place is always packed. Our server was fast and friendly, however did bring my b/f the wrong omelet at first. He'd just started on the potatoes when the server came back out and had to bring the correct omelet. Overall, people were friendly and service was decent. On to the food. I ordered one of the breakfast specials w/ eggs, potatoes, sausage, toast and a pancake. My b/f ordered one of the omelets, which came with toast and potatoes and got an order of bacon on the side. My breakfast was decent. The pancake was to die for and, quite honestly, I'd only come back here for that. The eggs were eggs, but the potatoes weren't that great. When I see skillet potatoes, I expect cubed potatoes fried up, but this was more of a mushy patty looking thing. Either way, not that great. The sausage and bacon was delicious and I HIGHLY recommend ordering the apple butter to accompany your toast (or english muffin in my case). My b/f said the omelet was good, but felt like it was a thin layer of egg and wished there had been more egg in relation to what was inside. Like I said, I'd go back for the pancakes and crepes! Aside from that, nothing too outstanding about this place.

Usually I distrust establishments that use creative spelling in their names - "ye olde Englishe" places are generally the worst offenders, but the German "Haus" seems to be gaining in popularity. However, this place seems to have been around far too long to be going for the "trendy" vibe, and perhaps more importantly, the German aesthetic extends far beyond the name, so it gets a pass. As an example, the decor is pure Brothers Grimm fairy-tale-cottage - patterned wallpaper, china figurines, and plain wood furniture in abundance. Depending on your background, you might find it kitschy or comforting, or perhaps some of each. Either way, it's comfortable, and the staff are both friendly and efficient; we had our food within fifteen minutes of walking in the door. Said food also fit with the German theme: plain, but hot and filling. On the recommendation of several other Yelpers I had the potato pancakes, which were exactly as advertised - no frills, just three potato pancakes with sour cream, and a few pieces of crispy bacon on the side. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy, and got two biscuits with a boat of gravy, complete with sausage chunks in it. Both were perfectly tasty. I admit that I usually like a little more creativity in interpretation with my meals when I eat out - I can make plain fare at home fairly easily. But I can't fault these folks for sticking with what they're good at, and I may well be back sometime when I want something unchallenging and unquestionably good.

The husband unit and I have been to Millie's a number of times, as they are right by our house, and have had really good experiences every time. The food is good, solid breakfast fare, though not knock my socks off fantastic, hence four stars. Each time we have gone there has been plenty of seating and we were served quickly. I tend to order either the Russian blintzes or the potato pancakes with coffee and bacon. Both are flavorful, leaving me satisfied, but not overly stuffed and they don't give me weird looks when I ask for both sour cream and apple sauce to go with the potato pancakes. The husband tends to order one of the combos so he can have a little of everything and always cleans his plate, growling a bit if I try to steal a bite. The decor is whimsical to the max which adds extra charm, making you feel like you are having breakfast at your old-world grandma's. Also, I really loved how they went all out for the holidays, even replacing the paintings. UBER CUTE.

I read several other Yelp reviews for this place before going there, a few of which mentioned that it is always packed. That made me curious to find out whether their popularity was due to good food, a good deal, or hopefully both. So, I recently invited a dear friend to join me there for Sunday brunch. The place was indeed packed; we had to wait about 20 minutes to get a table. However, we discovered that their popularity is apparently due to something other than good food or a good deal. I ordered Millie's Special, which included two blueberry pancakes, two eggs (over easy), and a side bacon, but did not include any bread item. I also ordered a side of Home Fries. Considering this is their signature breakfast menu item, I would have expected more than just a short stack of pancakes. The pancakes were also dry, which means they were being made ahead of time and then warmed instead of being made to order, and it seemed like no amount of syrup could bring them back to life. The pancakes also contained hardly any blueberries, which is inexcusable considering they were homemade. The portion size for the bacon was embarrassingly small and it was not hot or crispy. The home fries were not that at all, but rather something closer to an unseasoned baked potato that had been smashed on the plate. The only good marks go to whomever in the kitchen was responsible for the eggs because my over-easy eggs were very nicely prepared. Given the large number of patrons that were there at the same time as we were, my conclusion is that Millie's must have good reputation, which is still drawing in a lot of people. So, it is certainly possible that we caught them on a bad day when the regular chef was away and/or somebody forgot to do the grocery shopping. Never the less, our experience was dissatisfying enough that we will not be giving Millie's a second chance. My only consolation was that my friend looked very pretty and was great company; otherwise my visit would have been pretty much a complete disappointment.

Finally, after being in this frontier town for seemingly ever, I made my way to Millie's. Went with 3 people and each was happy. On special was hash browns, which person number one was happy with but might not revisit. Person number two had the Swedish pancakes with ligonberry. I tried a bite and if you're in the mood for thin pancakes and ligonberry, you won't be disappointed. I had the French pancakes with apricot and feeling daring sour cream as opposed to whipped cream. Very delicious and there was a difference between French and Swedish. Lastly and best was the potato pancakes. Those were a great choice. Coffee was weak for my taste and the pork links were brown and serve. Maybe it should be 3.5 stars. As is typical with Tucson, my table had the lowest average age in the place. I don't know why, but that always makes me nervous.

First, the directions and map on here are wrong. I was taken to some little church. I finally just googled it and made my way there. I did enjoy my brunch there! I had an omelette that was amazing! I got my daughter a grilled cheese which was kinda gross, it looked pre-made and then reheated, needless to say she didn't eat it. So next time we will just stick to pancakes for her. I cant wait to go back and try some more items. They are also open late now on the weekends which is awesome! Love this place!

Such found memories of this place while growing up. Still remember buying the tin cans of hard candies from the cashier counter after each visit. Millie's is a country cottage decorated restaurant with delicious home cooked style breakfast choices. Perfect for Sunday brunch or breakfast any day of the week. Lines to be expected.

If you like long waits on the weekends, mediocre service and food that isn't impressive at all than this is the place for you. I have gone to many breakfast places around town and I can honestly say that this is one of the worst I have been to. That being said this isn't the first time that I have been to Millie's and had bad or rude service and dismal food but it is close to the house I had my kids and thought I would stop in for an easy breakfast. This time the wait wasn't so bad maybe 10 min. My kid's food came out first which was a good thing in a way I helped my son with cutting up his food and watched them eat. After they finished we talked and I entertained them by telling stories, drawing for them and tried to get a refill on my coffee. A little over 15 minutes went by and I finally got up and walked over to another one of the wait staff to ask for more coffee and that's when I saw the waitress come out with my food. So I sat down with a nice warm coffee and my somewhat complete order and ate. I tried to get another cup of coffee and ask about my missing cottage cheese but was unable to get the waitress to come back. Over all it was a very bad experience and I doubt that I will go back.

The worst service we've had in years. There were many empty tables around us. I counted 6 tables that came in after our party of two that were served before us. Not good. The server is in the wrong business. Her communication skills would be better on an assembly line. I spoke to the owner about the :30minute wait for food, the server that told me that the service is better during the week, and the food that never came for my wife. He could only boast about how great everything was last Sunday, when we weren't there! I'm sure the place is full of friends of the owner that will go there no matter how their treated, because he sure didn't give a damn about me or my wife or the people sitting next to us that got the wrong meal twice. Bad service and a bad attitude by the server and owner. There are SO many other GREAT choices for restaurants in Tucson, they won't see my hard earned money again. And, when anyone of the thousands of people that I, and my employees, come in contact with at my advertising agency, ask where to go for a great breakfast or lunch, we sure won't recommend Millie's Pancake Haus.

Very quaint grandma's country-home vibe. Not the place to take your buddies for a hangover breakfast, but definitely good for family. I took my parents here for breakfast when they visited from the Midwest and they loved it. The food is solid - not mind-blowing but well worth it. Service was friendly and attentive as you would expect from this kind of family values-oriented place.

When we overnight in Tucson and the question, "Where should we go for breakfast?" the answer is a resounding cry of "MILLIE'S!" Crepes, pancakes----it is all so good! We have to keep going back so that we can try everything! The decor and ambience are a big plus to this restaurant. We dropped in one day when it happened to be "Breakfast with Santa" day. Absolutely charming!

Wow, the strawberry waffles are divine. I don't think I ever came up for air! I came with my husband, and we each ordered a strawberry waffle and a blueberry shake. The shake was perfect! Our server was awesome, we got our food super fast (we came in around noon on a Saturday) and she was very polite and friendly. We're coming back!

All I have to say is ADORABLE. Once you walk into the doors, you feel like your back at grandma's home country kitchen. Me and a group of 8 friends wanted to come here for a late breakfast. Called ahead and let them know we were having a party coming in, and they got us a table ready. Ah reservations are the best. I went with the chocolate chip pancakes and they came out warm and tasted solid, My boyfriend got sausage, potatoes, and eggs. I'll be honest, the potatoes could have been better country fried, they were on the plain side, but still a stand up portion. All good stuff. The blueberry pancakes someone else got looked real good. Lots-o-berries cooked in. Came out with both blueberry syrup and maple. I kept eying my other friends "special of the day" biscuits and gravy. Everyone ate until it felt like we all needed a nap. Everyone even got separate bills no problem. For the price, give it a go. I'd def come here again when going out to Tucson. I think the ambiance of granny's kitchen is what does it more than the food. But there's tons of stuff you can get.

I owe Millie's a review. This place is great. Fabulous breakfast every time. Last time we went my husband ordered the German pancake. 25 mins later came the most delightful apple filled gigantic oven-cake. It made me teach myself how to make them (not as hard as one might think). Delish, you should go.

This place IS WONDERFUL! Been going here since 92 and when the military took us from Tucson for 10 years, when we came back it's still the best breakfast place around. Highly recommend. Great prices, lots of choices and will continue to go here for years and years to come.

I come here often, as I love their eggs benedict. Every time I order it, it's always the same. Their waffles are great. Crispy outside, and warm fluffy inside. The potatoes that accompany the eggs benedict I've never been to crazy about. Too bland for my taste. They also have this garlic dressing that is fraaaakin awesome. I'm not too crazy about the fact that you pay for a lot of things separately. Don't expect this to be a Ihop or Denny's. Meaning if you buy a waffle, but you want sausage you need a separate order. They don't have those huge combos with pancakes, eggs, bacon etc... This is a solid place, das ist gut!!!!!

I have been here a number of times for several reasons - the staff is friendly, the scrambled eggs are cooked perfectly, and there are several menu choices. Today, I had 2 potato pancakes with sour cream and applesauce, 2 scrambled eggs, and coffee. The food was delicious as usual, our server was friendly, and we were offered refills on our coffee several times.

Sorry guys, guess we should have came for breakfast! Went there last Saturday night and the BEST part of our meal(s) was the homemade bread and the salad that came with the entree(s). My friend chose the soup, a beef/vegetable concoction that she had to send back and switched to salad (way better choice). The entrees were, um, just awful. I had the cabbage rolls which were NOT anywhere close to the taste I have been familiar with in my life. The cabbage was undercooked, the meat barely had any rice in it, but the tomato sauce they spooned over it (not cooked/baked in it) was so sweet I scrapped it all off. The had run out of the potatoes that were supposed to come with it, so I got "whipped" potatoes which were plopped on the plate in the same shape as the scoop they used, and they were so bland and gummy (no sauce/butter/gravy or anything to put on them. I ate half of one cabbage roll, and gave the rest to my table to try and nobody liked it either. My friend ordered Sweedish Meatballs....the order came with 3 served on top of spatzel which was gummy and sticky. They ran out of whatever was supposed to come with it. She took home a big doggy bag and her fur babies got the leftovers once she was home. Another friend got the chef salad....wise choice given the food options. It was a basic salad nothing special. The only guy with us ordered the rueben and was justifiably unsatisfied and critical of (the chef even came out). All in all, it was a big flop. Wasted money, grandma atmosphere (and I'm 57 years old) that was filled with dolls and nicknacks that did not set any sort of mood for us. None of us will come back...not even for the potato pancakes (which they WILL NOT serve for dinner).

OK, I will admit that I am biased. I grew up going to Millie's. It is my favorite breakfast place in Tucson, but there is a caveat here. You have to know what to order. Do I order creative dishes here? No. Do I order omelets? No (even though they aren't bad). Do I go here for lunch? No. Millie's does 2 things extremely well however: pancakes and waffles. If you have a morning sweet tooth this is the place to go. By the way, you HAVE to get the pure maple syrup. It is not debatable. My go to is the country breakfast (awesome deal) with a full waffle (only comes with half) or the pancakes. That's it. This place looks like a restaurant but you have to have a "diner" mentality when you come here. You wouldn't get fancy at a greasy spoon, so don't get fancy here.

I visited with my fiance and his parents a couple weeks ago, and not only was the restaurant swelteringly hot, the food didn't even make up for it. I had the asaparagus eggs benedict, that I happened to see on the specials chalkboard on my way it. My waitress did not tell us about the specials, and she said that this dish came with canadian bacon (which it did not). The asparagus was frozen, and it was DRENCHED in hollandaise sauce, which unfortunately, did not cover the taste of the terribly cooked asparagus. No one at my table enjoyed their meal, from my father in-laws strange beef noodle, to my fiance's over cooked eggs.

I had the special pancakes of the day, if I hadn't read the specials on the blackboard outside I would not have known there even was specials. Millis is a rare commodity here in tucson. A very quaint country style eatery. The decor is a perfect match for the theme. I love the comfort foods. The freshly baked bread is to die for. I'm from the south and love the southern charm aspect hidden in the southwest reminds me of home. Food is always hot fresh. They are always accommodating to my special request the service is excellent!

I was clean shaven before we headed to Millie's this morning for breakfast. I grew a full on amazing beard while I waited for my breakfast. The beard is long and awesome. I look like a very young Gandalf. Thank you for the beard Millie! The western ommelet was mediocre at best albeit cold in the center (which is strange considering it took over an hour to make...) I would love to have that hour and a half of my life back... oh and you get the added pleasure of waiting in line to pay for your so called meal as well...

I've been here several times over the past 15 years. Today was the worst food I've ever had there. I had Swedish pancakes that tasted like paper. Completely flavorless. My boyfriend said his tasted like cardboard. He had eggs, sausage, hash browns and an English muffin. Very disappointing breakfast. We will not return.

A friend recommended Millie's and suggested that we try it for breakfast. My wife and I went there at about nine AM and were promptly seated. Then we waited, and waited , and waited. Apparently we were invisible to the waitstaff, as no one ever came to take beverage orders or any other orders. After twenty to twenty five minutes, we walked out and had a very nice breakfast at a restaurant across the street. I have no idea how good the food is or isn't, but we shall not return to Millie's.

All the food here is delicious! I'm a big fan of the french toast and omelettes. The homemade bread takes the french toast to a whole new level! The interior is really cute too, very old fashioned and homey.

Hmm...have some mixed feelings about this one. Went in for breakfast with the hubby and in-laws on their last day in town. Restaurant was pretty busy but we still got seated right away. We made allowances for the fact that there were only 2 servers working, one for each half of the restaurant, and tried not to get too annoyed at how impossibly long it took ours to come greet us and take our drink orders. She was busy, we get it. Then it took another 15 minutes of looking around for her and waiting, waiting, waiting for those drinks. I didn't have coffee, but everybody else at the table said the coffee tasted old and was pretty gross. So onto the food after we finally managed to order it and receive it and dig in. I ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries, and pancakes. I never got my pancakes, but at least they weren't on the check. Food looked really good and tasty on the plate. Bacon and eggs were pretty well cooked, bacon might have been a little overcooked but still good. The home fries looked good at first glance but when I moved them around with my fork to take a bite they were slightly burned underneath and tasted really bland. Had to put a lot of salt on them to make them taste good. Overall after adding salt to the potatoes, my breakfast was pretty good. Tried hubby's pancakes and they were actually really delicious. Aside from the bumpy start and waiting at the beginning, our server was definitely the more solid of the two. She was totally slammed but was still right on top of our coffee and soda refills, got us our food pretty quickly, and was very friendly and efficient. I think it would be worth another visit in case they were just having an off morning, because nothing so terrible happened that we can really hold it against them. Prices are also really reasonable.

We were visiting from out of town and were really excited to go to a Hometown Café. The service was extremely slow for a holiday weekend. They messed up the order and the food was brought to the table cold. We would probably try it one more time and hope for better results. We are Tucson natives.

Millie's is like stepping inside of a custom made german cuckoo clock and eating the most fantastic pancakes of your life! I love the decor and they add fantastical touches for the holidays (without overdoing it!). Another thing to note up front is that I've never had to wait very long for a table of 2. It seems others with groups of 4 do not wait long, either. Their menu is HUGE but I do think that that pancakes/waffles are the star. Our waiter told us the eggs benedict are fantastic, though, so give those a try! This season they have pumpkin waffles that are absolutely fantastic!! They even come with cinnamon syrup :) The prices are fair, the waitstaff is fine (sometimes good, sometimes a little sour), and you can really customize any plate that you want. So, no real complaints here! They also have baked goods for sale - both flavored breads and regular loaves. A random side note - their booths are quite stiff which I believe increases the accessibility of the seating. Since all the seating is hard, it is is easier for people of all ages to get in and out of their chairs/booths.

The service was nice but the food was so unexceptional. I wonder if the cooks ever tasted a real Swedish pancake or German blintzes. 'No Substitutions' 'minimum $1.00 charge' for anything extra' - so many rules for such mediocrity - didn't feel welcoming.

Change of owners, change of cuisine. Today's breakfast was definitely sub par. Pancakes dry and over easy eggs broken and hard. Not sure what's going on, but last 3 visits were not good. Will stay away.

Great little local breakfast spot! The restaurant is very quaint and has a certain charm to it. The menu was a little larger than I was expecting for a pancake house, but the food was great. I had the chocolate chip pancakes and my husband had the blueberry pancakes, both good and very filing! It was our first time visiting though and I wish our waitress would have asked because we felt very rushed to order while we were still looking over the menu. Other than that, it was great.

Well well, we decided to finally try Millie's ... Went with entire family for breakfast. Friendly staff large menu but not someplace I would return to. I agree with the bulk of the yelp reviews... As a mediocre place. The food was warm but not as hot as it should be. Patio style potatoes were cold. Gravy had an odd taste to it, certainly not a pleasant taste that you expect a breakfast gravy to taste like. Common now breakfast prep should be easy for a restaurant... The value is fantastic. The prices are so reasonable considering the quality. My wife had the banana pancakes, two eggs, Canadian bacon, home fries and iced tea. I had the two eggs, sausage, home fries, white toast, rotkohl, 2 potato pancakes a la carte with a side of sour cream and apple sauce, and orange juice. This is a lot of food, with tax, for only $28 - and eating less, you can still get stuffed for around $15 per couple. The pancakes were the best we've ever had in town - fluffy, delicate, obviously made fresh with pride. The syrup was served hot. The eggs, over medium, are cooked separately which I really like. The home fries were fresh and cooked with the perfect amount of crunch to them. The toast was made, I believe, from home-made bread and the jelly assortment was wide - marmalade, blackberry, strawberry and grape. The Canadian bacon was lean and very flavorful, as was the sausage. The potato pancakes were average, but the apple sauce is chunky and really great. I wish the apple sauce and sour cream were served in actual ramekins rather than to-go plastic ware, but no biggie. The rotkohl, which is a slaw made of red cabbage, is out of this world! Sweet and tart, served warm, with a little bit of spice to it - like nothing I've ever had before. Must try. As for cleanliness, the entire place is well maintained - dusted, clean windows, tables were cleaned, chairs were cleaned, booths, carpet, counter tops, etc., and well stocked with condiments. The restaurant was 3/4ths full during late morning, which really says something about how good they are. Service was great - smiley, attentive, fast, and accurate. Reasonably knowledgeable and refilled beverages. She brought ketchup and hot sauce without us requesting, which I really like. The busser was so fast and great at cleaning tables. We passed all this on to the owner, who was there cooking and was kind enough to take the time to come out and chat with us. He was very genuine and appreciative. I try to be as fair and honest as possible in all my reviews, and this place is a must go - you won't be disappointed. We will be back.

Millie's is one of my son's favorite 'go to' weekend breakfast spots- especially now that he can drive there! I have to say though, the 3 star rating on yelp is spot on. Don't come here expecting to be surprised or amazed- or be under any false assumptions that they are doing anything other than standard, uninspired, basic breakfast and lunch fare. (With that in mind, you won't be disappointed). The service is fair, and somewhat friendly, which balances out the fact that the food typically isn't all that great. I usually order bacon and eggs, a safe bet- but I was surprised when we ate there yesterday that the hash browns were soggy and not brown, and I was charged 50 cents for a tiny side of salsa to attempt to liven up my overcooked scrambled eggs. (I almost thought it was comical that they would charge for a one ounce side of Pace Picante Sauce). Bottom line- don't go to Millie's expecting miracles, and you won't be disappointed... I'd still rather give them my breakfast business than a corporate chain.

Oh Millie's. We had about 2 hours before my fiancée had to be at work, and thought a nice, relaxing breakfast at a local restaurant sounded like a great way to spend our morning. How wrong we were. Seated quickly, but that was the only thing that went right. We waited about 10 minutes before being greeted by a server, who told us that she was only filling in because our server was too busy. We quickly placed our order and sat back to relax and enjoy the quaint atmosphere. It was all downhill from there: we literally had to hold our cups in the air and try to catch the servers attention to get a refill. Our food took over an hour to come and when it did it was a disaster: eggs were cold, home fries were soft, soggy, cold. Ham was actually cold - like from a refrigerator. Waffle was burnt. At this point we only had about 20 minutes before he had to leave for work, so we had to belly up and eat. We told a different server (because we never saw our server or the girl who took our order again) that we were hungry so we ate, and would pay for it, but that it was bad. Her response was "oh". We definitely won't be coming back here ever again. We will just stick to Bread & Butter Cafe from here on out.

The menu is very nice but with a limited selection. The bacon omelette was delicious and my guests enjoyed their pancakes. Our server was exceptionally nice. The ambience is great for families.

Millie's is quaint and reminds me of my grandmother's house if I was a white girl. I get the huge pancakes and always a dish with some sort of egg (scrambled, over easy, etc). Their waffles aren't as great as let's say Denny's. Service can be hit or miss.

As i entered Millies i liked the old fashion German decor, made you feel like you were dining in someones home. as i entered i was greeted and seated quickly. i had plenty of time to look at the menu like 15 long minutes. so when the waitress (very young) came to my table i ordered coffee and wanted to know what was the specialty of the house she replied that she didn't know. so i ordered a basic country breakfast 2 eggs,bacon and short stack of pancakes. pancakes were sweet and plain. honestly i wish IHOP was close by. Millies is also lacking in the customer service department and the waitresses need better training. Millies has alot of room for improvement.

seriously awesome. don't come here for 2 eggs over easy and toast. go for their specials. they bake their own bread. yum! we even bought some cinnamon bread and banana bread to go. awesome and friendly service. feel like grandma is cooking for ya. i made out like a bandit with the swedish meatballs. the other tables had massive pancakes. ask your server for suggestions. we had the choco chip one but one table had some ufo looking one. sounds like the regulars know where it's at and what to order.

I usually enjoy lunch at this place, however after ordering the avocado and tomato eggs benedict, I won't go back. The avocado was black and sour the first time, and when we asked for "fresh" avocado, it was even worse. I guess that's why it was the special of the day?

My wife and I went on a Saturday morning and there was no wait... at least to get a table. Once we are seated, no one approached us for at least ten minutes. Other tables were sat after us and had received drinks. Thinking that we were forgotten, I went to the hostess stand and told them we had not seen a server yet. Our server comes over and asks what we want to drink and then says, "I may as well take your order while I am here." OK... I am "that guy" - you know the one - that had ten minutes to look over the menu and still didn't know what I wanted. Now I felt rushed. We had seen a special for an avocado tomato bacon (we thought) Benedict. We both order that. The food arrives fairly fast. The eggs are cooked nicely, without being too runny. The hollandaise sauce tasted of dill. We don't detect any bacon (when we re-read the special, it did not say bacon) but are getting plenty of avocado and tomato. It wasn't a bad dish, but after while, the dill in the hollandaise became just a little too much. Adding bacon may have balanced that out. There were some potatoes that appeared to have been boiled, chopped and then spent some time on the griddle. They weren't home fries and they weren't hashbrowns... they were not bad and they were not great. As we are eating, I look at my wife and say, " You know, we don't even know how much this special cost." Turns out it was $9.75. Two of these, with tax, no drink, before tip cost over $21... a tad steep. True to it's name, their pancake selection "stacks" up against anyone: French (crepes), Russian blintzes, Belgian waffles, Swedish pancakes with lingonberrries... they have all nationalities covered. If pancakes are your thing, Millies may be the place for you. Me... I am not a pancake person. While I give them credit for the originality of the dish we had, their weird potatoes are a microcosm of Millie's; they are not bad and they are not great.

Very disappointing. I ordered the Bohemian pancakes which were listed as buttermilk pancakes with whipped cream and homemade apricot topping. I asked if it was real whipped cream like it said on the menu and the waitress said "No, it comes from a can." I asked well is it at least dairy since some whipped creams do come from a can, think Reddi-Whip, and she told me it was. The meal arrived and it was two large undercooked pancakes topped with a boatload of glimey apricot topping with whipped "cream" in a separate bowl. It had the bright white coloring and bitter taste of non-dairy whipped topping. (True Bohemian pancakes are a stack of small sour cream pancakes with whipped cream and plum jelly between the layers.) When I paid my bill I asked the lady behind the counter if it was real whipped cream, she assured me it was showing me the can that stated prominently "non-dairy whipped topping." Apparently that was news to her. I mentioned to the owner that it is misleading to state on the menu, and charge a high price for, real whipped cream when it is not. The Russian blintzes were also substandard. Rather then being a fully stuffed blintz, they were thin pancakes folded over with some cheese stuffed into the ends. My wife is of Russian heritage from Brooklyn and these were not authentic Russian blintzes. The service was friendly, perhaps to make up for it being so slow. So overall it was expensive for what we got and what we got wasn't too good.

This restaurant experience was a hot mess. I have had bariatric surgery which mean my stomach gets full with very little food. I've lost almost 300 pounds in the last 6 years and I'm proud of that. Often a restaurant will let me order off the childrens menu which is great because no food is wasted. Millie's wouldn't let me do that. In my opinion this us a huge marketing mistake. If i liked it, i would bring people there who eat full meals and in this economy, to me it's more important to make sure you get new customers than stick to a rule. The difference in price is just $3, which i would have made up in a tip. They also wouldn't make the substitutions i requested. I like shredded hash browns, and asked if they would substitute 1 potato pancake for their home fries for the reason below. Nope. By the way the potato pancake, which i paid extra for was grey, thin, and mushy. I had one bite. Next, my friend asked specifically if the home fries were shredded. He was told no. They were. Next, i asked if the maple syrup was real. No it isn't but you can buy the real stuff for only $2.50 for 2.5 oz. really? My coffee cup was refilled once. The food came. It was ok. Nothing special. we ended up at Millie's because Mimi's was packed with a 30 min wait on Easter, and my friend likes supporting local business. I just wanted a good breakfast. There was no wait at Millie's. That should have been a hint. If you want a great breakfast, go to Bobo's.

We had a 7 top arrive on a Saturday and we were seated immediately. Prices, Service, and quality of food came through solid. Specials, pancakes, French toast, etc. were enjoyed by all! Great place for breakfast.

I am a fan of Millie's. Quaint, local, unique. Nice open airy old-world atmosphere allows for nice lingering breakfast's with my girlfriends. My favorite pancakes are the Swedish (with lingonberry sauce), Bohemian (with apricot sauce) and the Russian blintzes. I am a breakfast gal, so I have not tried anything on the rest of their menu, but I will say, breakfast will be delicious. If you are looking to get in-and-out, this might not be they place to go. Although the service might be slower than other places, the servers are always delightful and responsive (if you a nice patient customer). The weekends will be busy, but if you can take a friend to catch up during the week, Millie's will provide the perfect place for your intimate catch up time.

I was here on Mother's Day and it was about a 30 minute wait. I was thrilled that they had my beloved German Apple Pancake on the menu. I can make my own, but having it made for you is a real treat. They kind of half assed it though and did not use fresh apples, but rather they used a precooked syrupy apple. They also folded the pancake and stuffed the apples in the middle. I prefer to have melted butter with apples covered in brown sugar and cinnamon on the bottom of the pie pan, then you pour your batter on top, so the apples caramelize and bake into the pancake. These pancakes are a sight to behold anyway you make it. They are the size of a plate and they are big and puffy. It is essentially a popover/yorkshire pudding batter. It is incredibly tasty. I also had a side of bacon, which was just your average cut of bacon, nothing fancy. I loved their menu! Crepes, Swedish pancakes and potato pancakes were all very phat (pretty hot and tempting). The server was overwhelmed and a little scattered, poor guy. They also sell fresh baked sweet breads and some jams like lingonberry.

Should have trusted the review about this being an uninspired, basic restaurant. On the good side it was clean and we were seated fast; which should have been a concern since it was Sunday morning, prime eating out breakfast time and this place was half empty. The server was nice enough and checked on us but the food was a disaster. The pecan waffle was underdone and almost gooey, likewise with their "home fries" which were actually underbaked scalloped potatoes. The blintzes were cold and not good. I didn't even think there was a way to ruin waffles, but they did it. Who knew?

I love the chocolate chip pancakes but really, it's the experience and the German cottage like feel that keeps me coming back. As far as the food goes, the portions suck and I can make better pancakes at home. If I feel like having an overpriced semi-lousy breakfast and at place that reminds me of fantasyland in Disneyland, i'll head on over to the pancake haus.

This place had a cute and quaint look to it, but the service is atrocious. The hostess and wait staff were rude. When I went to the front initially to get on the list for a table, they refused to make eye contact with me. Another customer had to say he wouldn't pay until they helped me, as I'd been there 7minutes with no acknowledgement. After getting a dirty look from the hostess and reluctant help, I decided not to give them my business.

Went for the first time this morning and loved everything about Millie's! The beef noodle soup was well flavored, the biscuits & gravy were awesome and the German pancake was fabulous too! The apples are fresh and the cinnamon sauce was tasty without being too sweet. Everything was homemade! I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a hearty breakfast at a fair price.

We just got back from a Father's Day brunch at Millie's, and I am a little shocked it was as busy as it was, especially after I tried their food. It was ok, but just ok. I had read some previous reviews that recommended the swedish pancakes with the ligonberry sauce, so that is what I tried. The pancakes were pretty good, very thin and tasty, but the much loved ligonberry sauce tasted like the mixed fruit jelly you get in those little containers on the table. It was too sweet and had the same consistancy of jelly. My husband tried the Millie's breakfast, which was two eggs, sausage and blueberry pancakes. He says he liked it, but it wasn't any better than every other breakfast he has ever had. Prices also seemed a bit high for the amount of food you got. And while this has nothing to do with their food, the decor of the restaurant was so cutesy and full of knick knacks that I found it rather irritating. I don't think we will be going back.

Went hear on a Sunday morning. I ordered the Denver omelet, hash browns and white toast. The omelet was good, the hash browns very very dry, no taste, fell apart, white toast was just nasty. How can you F-U white toast! It was so dry and crusty, it fell apart, I has to pick through to find edible parts. The coffee was ok. Would I go back, not sure at this point very over rated. Lots of gray hairs eating there. For me a better bet is Denney's!

Looks like the thing to order are the potato pancakes. I didn't have that and maybe that's why the thing I remember most is the sticky table. I just know that nothing was impressive except the fact that I ordered an over-medium egg and sure enough there was no runny white stuff. I hope to never go there again until I am in the proper age bracket unless I go with my dead grandparents.

This place was ok, but I was disappointed as the recent reviews were so good. We had the Swedish Pancakes and the Corn Cakes. Anytime I've ordered corn cakes, they were a corn batter - where this was just regular pancake batter with corn in it. It tasted very weird, and not in a good way. My hubby thought the Swedish Pancakes were ok.

Just arrived home from Millies. Pancakes you say? Most of menu are pancakes. Better half had potato pancakes . I stuck with eggs and bacon. Both enjoyed what we got. Russian pancakes, French pancakes, blintz's, OMG, pancake heaven. Coffee was good and home fries were very good. a go backer.

I love Millie's. I love their potato pancakes in particular. Everything I have ever eaten there has been cooked well. The only draw back for me is the art times cramped seating arrangements and the fact that one has to pay extra for sour cream and apple sauce on the potato pancakes.

This was the worst food I've had in ages. I mean truly awful. The ac wasn't working and the place was thick with flies, not an appetizing scenario in and of itself. I ordered an omelet with very explicit instructions as to how I wanted it cooked. Alas, it was overdone and inedible, so I sent it back and decided to go with the patty melt, thinking there was no way the pathetic cook could screw that up. I was mistaken. It was just nasty. Cole slaw consisted of chopped cabbage and some runny white stuff which was neither slaw dressing nor mayo-I don't really know what it was. No seasonings and completely tasteless. Potato pancake was served cold and greasy. I complained on the way out, and then had to deal with a rude and disrespectful young man, since the young woman on the register didn't feel competent to manage my dissatisfaction on her own and went to fetch reinforcements. I won't be back. Yuck.
