Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

My strawberry raspado with butter pecan ice cream and extra la lechera was top notch! The bathroom was clean as well.

Taco was soso. Salsa sucked - it was just Tabasco sauce in my book. The Strawberry Raspado was Amazing - so intense, creamy, chips of ice ....... very refreshing. And no brain freeze.

This place was okay. I have been wanting to try it as I drive by it everyday! Positive: fast service and yummy treats Needs Improvement: the staff is hard to understand and the prices seem a little off from the prices on the board. I thought we were going to pay only $7 for two drinks, but it ended up being $11... very weird

The best taqueria food in Tucson. Try the Steak Rancheros and/or the Chicken Enchiladas...you won't be disappointed. Make sure you save room for a raspado. They're delicious! P.S. The place is very clean.

Out of town craving. Place was clean and service was nice. Had a ciruela (plum) raspado and pipihuates. Hubby has a strawberry shake. They were all good and satisfied the craving.

We tried this place for the first time a few weeks ago after driving by it a million times to get to work, and I am still thinking about how amazing my Raspado was! I tried the mango with ice cream and crema, I mean I went all out, and it was AMAZING! Ice, fresh fruit, ice cream, and gooey crema. Mmm! The inside is clean and cool on a hot day. The prices, depending on what you order, can be a little high. 1 medium and 1 small Raspado (fully loaded), and 1 milkshake, came out to $18! Even though my husband was a little shocked, I was in heaven. Definitely something I'm hooked on now.

First time at this restaurant. The place was clean and provided friendly service. I tried the enchiladas and they were delicious! I can't wait to try the raspados. Medium Raspados with ice cream $4.25

This place has one of the best raspados in town... They sell all kinds of Mexican treats that makes my mouth water... They also sell mexican food here... I had the Sonoran Hot Dog and three carne asada tacos... The tacos were not that great and the hot dog was good. My wife had the ham and cheese torta... It was HUGE and really good... When we go back I will definitely try their torta... Overall this is a great place to get a really good raspado and Mexican treats...

So, you will see the gaudy pink building, you will think where the hell am I, then you will wonder if the place used to be a Circle K. This place is diner-style, serving Michoacan food and those dreamy Raspados. Order from the pictures on the wall if you don't speak Spanish, but it is the basics, tacos, enchiladas, huraches (sp?) which is like a tostada but soft. Everything is meant to be street food, so the food has no fancy sauces, no melty cheese, or stuff that could leak out when you are eating on the run. The best part is certainly the Raspados, fresh fruit, cream, ice, ice cream (they will make it how you like it), with an abundance of flavor options. All in all, a good find on the West side.
