Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Magpies pizza is THE pizza shop of Tucson, and has been for decades. I will order a $30+ pie from them merely based on the name and reputation. However, I admit, the pizza in recent years does not compare to what I remember growing up. Their online ordering option is a joke, but it's super easy to call in and if you live close, pickup is on time. Haven't used their delivery (having a heart attack in a box, delivered to your door is what is wrong with America). If you do get hooked on these pizza pies (don't blame me if you do), be sure to utilize their reward program and get a free pizza. I live far away from Tucson now, but Magpies is right up there with Eegee's, Guero Canello and Shoobies. It's a must have when in the area and in the mood!

Go to the 4th ave location. The calzones here are alright, but the last time I ordered pizza here it tasted all mushy and doughy and weird. I put a slice in the oven, trying to make it more crispy, and nothing happened! It got hot, but it wouldn't get crispy or burn or anything! That made me feel like it was made out of rubber or something. I like my pizza to have a little bit of charred edges and a crust that won't crisp up? Just weird.

Magpies used to be my go to stop for quality pizza. I refused to order from anywhere else because you can taste the fresh ingredience and the pizza was made better than you can get at a Dominos. I say used to because lately, I must admit i've been disappointed. My pizza has not been consistent, which surprises me because my order is literally always the same. ( Large cheese pizza with extra sauce, extra thick crust, and Garlic sticks). Sometimes, my pizza will come so burnt i dont want to eat it. Other times there will be so much cheese that i cant taste the sauce, and sometimes it comes perfect. I just never know? "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me" comes to mind! I know its crazy to keep coming back but I fricking love their pizza! I would rather pay top dollar to maybeeeeee get a perfect pizza then pay less and order from the Pizza Hut. Boys and girls when this pizza is made well, it is so good. You can taste the real tomato chunks inside of the sauce, the real fresh mozzarella, and the doughy goodness. I do occasionally pass them up to get Sabrros, which is becoming my new favorite, but I will always fall back on my Magpies. It is a must try in Tucson! If your looking to eat in the restaurant I would try the 4th av location since are only a few bar-tops to sit at on Orange Grove. Plus they have Tiermisu now, which means a God does exist!

Best pizza in Tucson. I love the sourdough herb crust and their sauce is great. We've ordered several times but tonight we had a delivery issue. The manager on the phone was very helpful and understanding with our concern. They even called back later to give us an update on how they handled the situation. Good food and tonight I was impressed by their customer service.

This is one of the few pizza restaurants that delivers to my area and I'm glad they do. I've had the white pizza on three occasions and it's always been fantastic. It may be a bit more expensive than a routine chain pizza place but the ingredients taste fresh and for me thats a price I'm willing to pay. I will definitely continue to order from Magpies.

I've ordered 4 times from this place and each one is better than the last! The pizza crust is to die for and their topping options are extensive. It does take longer than national chains and is more expensive... But if you can appreciate a gourmet pizza vs pizza hut style crap... It's worth the extra time and money

How I missed Magpies since its Cortaro rd. location closed. Ordered two pizzas for Pick up today and boy is it tiny inside. After my pizza was ready I couldn't wait to try the Beast; fabulous. As far as drinks go, it appears they only have RC products In their cooler. Since I'm enjoying my order right out of the oven your mileage my vary. I like the choices of crust:classic white, sourdough, whole wheat or gluten free( herb crust topping can be added). Also the sauces include: house pesto, spicy Juan Carlos pesto, tomato pesto, olive oil & garlic, marinara, BBQ and ranch. I like having choices and they have plenty. Their chicken primavera is my favorite; lots of veggies with ranch sauce. Heaven.

Shocked this place has lasted as long as it has. Ordered a large magpie pizza tonight and it was undercooked, had no flavor, and didn't even have toppings on all the pieces. Ordered the gluten free white pie which comes not sliced? Wtf. Also, so cooked you can barely cut it. The lack of sauce and cheese on both is astonishing. Also asked for no olives in our salad and shocking, full of olives. Insane.

The magpie pizza is to die for...getchya one of those . I've tried it as it is suggested as well as with the spicy pesto sauce. My recommendation is to order it the way it is suggested on the menu, they have a good thing going there. I've also had the veggie which was not my favorite but the magpie will not disappoint.

Great pizza, usually, poor customer service, sometimes. Four stars for pizza, three for customer service. Last night I ordered two pizzas for our family dinner (Cathy's and The Magpie). They had a computer glitch and only brought one (Cathy's). I showed them the original email receipt and my credit card charge for both pizzas, but they seemed to want me to think that I had cancelled one of the pizzas, which I didn't. They said they would remake the other pizza and bring it back. I asked that they bring both pizzas together so that they would both be fresh and hot and all of us could eat together. Forty-five minutes later they returned with two pizzas. The Magpie was good. Cathy's was only slightly warm, and soggy, and evidently they sent back the original pizza instead of making a new one. I was surprised. Today I (and my son) stopped by the restaurant to explain my disappointment to the manager--not to receive anything back whatsoever! He was indifferent, and as my son and I walked to the car all we could say was that the manager couldn't care less.

We have had this pizza a couple of times and it is delicious! The flavor is awesome! There is plenty of cheese and toppings and the crust is just the right amount of soft and crispy. Only thing I don't like is the price, but you get what you pay for, right?

Way over priced and the quality just isn't there. $32 for a 14" pizza and bread sticks. The pizza was poorly put together with all the cheese in the center and the bread sticks seemed like they didn't get a chance to rise before cooking. I waited over an hour for the delivery and it was cold when it got to my house....won't be ordering for them again.

We've been regular customers of Magpies in the thirteen years we have lived here. At the old location, just north of Ina on Oracle the pizza was at least acceptable and occasionally even good. Since moving to the new location it is really inedible. We've tried it three times now, after calling and telling the store how bad it was after the first two, and nothing has changed. If what you want is raw dough covered with burned toppings go ahead. Definitely the worst pizza we have ever had three times in a row We'll never order anything from Magpies again.

Mushy, doughy undercooked. Too thick, soggy, not crisp. Sauce is good toppings are ok. Way too expensive for the quality

If I were only allowed to eat pizza from one place, I would choose Magpie's. Both locations are great. I haven't tried everything on the menu yet, but everything I have tried has been fantastic. Even their breadsticks taste delicious. They also have a great array of gourmet toppings to choose from and every pizza is very customizable, they even have different dough options. Never had a problem with my orders or service.

Out of towner here...wanted something close and that they could deliver. Place my order and the guy on the phone was less than enthusiastic but that's ok. Wanted a small pepperoni but was told it didn't meet the $15 min order requirement. Ok - medium it is I was only less than 1/2 mile away but whatever...$19 for one medium. One hour delivery time...what?? Ok no problem. One hour passes so I call to ask if my pizza is on its way - doesn't bother to cover up the phone " hey - this chick wants to know if her pizza is on its way!". Chick??? What??? I'm not sure if I should be insulted or flattered so I'll choose this is getting dumber by the minute. Delivery guy shows up about 10 min later - nice kid. Pizza was ok nothing to write home about. Customer service is severely lacking at the shop but all in all ok food but won't be coming here unless your staff gets some training on manners!

Their pizza is obviously better than the national chains. In fact, it's rather good, though I would not call it "gourmet" as they do, by any stretch of the imagination. They have a larger selection of vegetarian and vegan options than are available most other places. However, $1.50 to $3.00 per veggie topping (depending on pizza size) for items that aren't even organic, is rather silly. So if you order here, get the toppings, like pine nuts and sun dried tomatoes instead of mushrooms and onions so that you can approach getting your money's worth.

Great place. They are working on the menu. Great selection. Gluten free options. Price is cheap for the gourmet selections. Tucked away in a perfect location
