Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

I love this pizza shop. The prices are rediculous. If this business gains success I hope they charge what they deserve for their pizza. The crust is perfect. Flaky and doughy at the same time. The sauce is a different kind of savory than I'm used to. Like nothing I've ever tasted. They have quality toppings and quality service. Made fesh when you order it and served hot. My son is very picky but devours this goodness. I hope they gain success and stick around. I will be a regular even if their prices go up!

I ordered the chicken Parmesan to go. It was my first time here! Service was wonderful, my order was ready in less than 10 min. It tasted fresh and delicious! I can't wait to bring my husband here, and I want to try everything else on the menu!

Monsoon weather w/ pizza & wings on the patio. This has to be one of the best little pizzerias in town, hands down. Everything is "FRESH" All the way down to the freshly grated Parmesan cheese they provide. This little gem is super-friendly and amazingly priced. First time here & definitely not the last.

Recently moved to Tucson. Got a Los Olivos Pizza to go, it was quite tasty although the heavy application of red pepper was a little much, next time will ask that it be left off. Very friendly service, used to a bit thicker crust and more sauce, and the slicing is pretty haphazard but of course does not affect the tastiness. Because of the thinness of the crust (which is great when fresh and hot), it does not 'weather' well when heated up the next day, so if you're getting one, get a size that will be finished at the time.

Finally, a foodie paradise on the Westside that isn't a burrito shop! (Nothing wrong with that, we just don't have a wide variety of options out hurrr). Don't let the exterior deceive you, marvelous pizza delights don't always come in shiny packages. Sure it's teeny tiny, kinda ugly, with maybe three tables indoors plus a couple round patio tables. Who cares! I'm there to EAT. And the eats are so, so gorgeous. Let's start with the crust. It's thin, with a perfectly satisfying crunch, never soggy, and never too much of that extra crust edge that I can't stand. I love a good char too, and this place gets it right. The tomato sauce is flavorful, perfectly sweet and balanced. Not too acidic or herbed, but just what it should be. We could call it the goldilocks effect. The topping offerings are so fabulous. So far, I've had the ricotta chicken, served with fresh basil at 9.95 for an 18" pizza. Stupid good deal, I know. Los Olivos knows how to not overdo it with the toppings, allowing the flavors to shine and not compete for attention. Seasoned, tender chicken slices balanced just right with heavenly dollops of pillowy ricotta here and there. Oh my oh my. I've also tried La Mexicana, a sensual pie topped with bacon, jalapeños, sausage, red onion, pinto beans, and tomatoes. It's just sex in your mouth. This one costs a few extra bucks for an 18" but still so affordable and so worth it. I have yet to try their advertised $5 one topping 14" pizza--yes you read that right, five freaking dollars-- but I know I'll be coming back again and again. To be continued, Los Olivos...

Chicken Ricotta pizza is what gets me to religiously keep coming back for more! I love this place and I love their prices even more! How does this place even make money? The server/cashier/baker is always so nice too! This little place is definitely the gem of Tucson! I can't love and rave about this place enough. Chewy crust, good portions of toppings, good cheese/sauce/bread ratio and so so delicious.

This place is great! I got a ham and pineapple pizza it was delicious, the ingredients were fresh, the dough was good and the people were extremely friendly. Check this place out and it's easy on the wallet.

Five dollar pies!? Say what? Yep. $5 giant pies is what's going on at Dos Olivos. Before trying this place, everyone Would compare it to a Little Ceasars Pizza, but better. That didn't necessary say much, since I don't order fast food pizza. But, alas, I had to try Dos Olivos. It was only a matter of time, considering I live across the street. Well, I have no idea how they're making money off these $5 pizzas, but they're one heck of a deal! It's your standard crust, thick and a little fluffy, even a touch chewy, but the toppings are legit. Fresh veggies and the perfect amount of cheese! This is for sure. Little gem near the mercado San Agustin and it's certainly has my stamp of approval, for what it's worth.

Good variety of pizzas. Good pie at a good price. Wish I'd have found it sooner. Much better than anything else nearby. We will be back.

Great, pizza at wonderful prices. Ingredients are fresh and varied, crust was delicious and had just the right crisp. Not the fastest place in town - I think their oven is pretty small. But SO worth the wait - just pull up a seat on the patio and watch sunset over the Tucson mountains!

We took one look at the place and almost left, but took one bite of the pizza and LOVED IT! Made fresh pizza, real ingredients, and real table side parmesan cheese!

Oh yes, this is the spot for fantastic authentic pizzas! This place may be small but it is mighty.....mighty awesome! We had 7 of their pizza options (on 26 pizzas) at our party and even though we had other options the Los Olivos pizzas were all that was eaten! The veggies on the Vegetaria pizza are roasted in house daily- and it's not just your normal onion-tomato-mushroom-pepper business; there are artichoke hearts and eggplant and so many other wonderful flavor and textures. For all the fresh ingredients the cost is completely reasonable (downright inexpensive!) - $8.95 for a 14" pizza loaded with yummy toppings. The crust is thinner- in a more traditional Italian style, but even my guests that will always order a deep dish pizza thoroughly enjoyed this crust. The red sauce was tangy and satisfying to where the toppings weren't a necessity. The Charcuterie is what most places call a meat lovers and I was lovin' me some meat! I love what the Capicola adds that is so much more than just your usual ham-bacon-sausage. The dining room is small (3 tables) so this is really a take out spot, which is fine by us.

We desperately wanted to like Los Olivos so we could support a local business but that wasn't the case. We ordered a Margherita with pepperoni and my love, who doesn't eat crushed red peppers on his pizza, was sprinkling some on it to give it some flavor. I think if it had more sauce, it would have made all the difference. Maybe we are too picky because the reviews from other Yelpers are good.
(2)Lisa P.
I read the review in the Tucson Weekly and went the following week. This was one of the worst pizzas I have aver had. The crust was so tough as though it had been overworked and the sauce had absolutely no flavor and there was hardly any of it on the pizza. The place wasn't super busy but it still took 45 minutes to get my pizza. I should have known better as you usually get what you pay for. Thanks but I will pay a little more for my pizza and stick to Rocco's Little Chicago.
(1)Ray L.
What are all of these four and five-star reviews doing here? Surely, Yelpers, you jest. Let's cut to the chase: Los Olivos is cute and endearing and about as good as a $3 Red Baron from the supermarket freezer shelf. Their dough seems to come out of a freezer, so it's hard to know if the stuff is made off site, early in the morning, or by a distant factory. Either way, it's not particularly thick or thin or memorable. Their cheese is akin to a frozen pizza and the accompanying grease may slightly surpass frozen pizzas. Having tried their eponymous pizza and a sausage/red pepper pie, it's fair to say that Los Olivos' toppings are about as underwhelming as the rest of their food. Setting aside that Los Olivos is currently a lateral move from Pizza Hut, it truly is nice to see a locally-owned pizza place open on the west side of Tucson. At the moment their prices are very low so, perhaps, they'll raise them a little bit and use to proceeds buy higher quality ingredients in the coming months.

OK, had the pizza for the first time this evening. myself and my coworkers ordered the five dollar pizzas, 1 pepperoni, 1 sausage. Took em back to the ole office and busted em out! First off those who say the sauce has no flavor must have burned off their tatse buds in a horrible industrial accident or something, or perhaps they just work for a competitor as I suspect. I don't much like red sauce, but this sauce was DEFRIGGINGLICIOUS!!! It had just the right acidity, a slight spicy kick, and a bright fresh tomato flavor!! The cheese is used sparingly, but it is real pizza cheese, or at least tastes like it is and to be honest there is just the right amount of it on the pie. The pepperoni was spicy, and greasy as all hell, just like good pepperoni should be!! I wasn't overly impressed with the sausage it was your standard crumbled pre made sausage and not overly impressive, but not horrible either. Both pies were cooked perfectly, served hot and fresh, and were a steal at $5.00 for a 14 inch pie. Folks this isn't fancy gourmet pizza, it's basic simple old school pizzeria style pizza, plain and simple. The prices are great and the pizza is solid and tasty!! Oh Yeah and I have yet to have a FROZEN PIZZA that even comes close to the flavor of this pizza. And for everyone's ettification, the DOUGH and SAUCE are made FRESH DAILY!! Try it for yourself, and YOU decide, but for me and my Amigos, this place was just fine!!!! And we will be back!!!!!

Wow, this food is delicious. Try the "Olivos" pizza. The ingredients are very fresh and the crust is just the right amount of crunchy. Definately going to be a favorite check in.

Newly opened family pizzeria. The restaurant is tiny but the owners are friendly and attentive. We went with friends and between the two of us order the classic pepperoni and and chicken and ricotta pizzas. The pizza were cooked as we ordered them and they were out pretty quick. Both were good. I especially liked the ricotta and chicken. The price of these pizzas is great. $9.00 for a 14". This tops any fast food pizza place around even though they are priced comparably. The only downside is the limited seating. They've only been open 2 days so I'm sure that's coming. If you live west side, this is a great place to order take home pizza from. We'll be doing that.
(3)grace m.
My first time there and plan to return. Pizza was tasty .Prices are very reasonable. I paid under 12 bucs for a 18 inch. Was worth checking out.

Amazing flavor, delicious! My BF shared the tomato mozzarella as an appetizer, I had the chicken salad and the BF ordered a lunch special "meat" calzone with added GREEN OLIVES as suggested by the order taker/cashier/chef/owner... Non-chain restauranteurs do it all! The balsamic glaze on the tomato mozzarella was just the perfect amount, complimented by a house made Italian dressing. Served on a bed of mixed baby green with a little romaine for the perfect crunch... And no iceberg... Hallelujah! The salad was fresh chopped romaine with artichoke hearts, tomatoes and cucumbers (well, 86 the cucs for me) and a little more of that Italian dressing. The grilled chicken was lightly breaded... lightly... With Italian seasoning, grilled on a flat top and sliced on top of the salad... perfect flavor, perfectly grilled! The BFs calzone was HOT... temp hot, not spice hot. The wait was 25-30 minutes... which seems long, but it's because they use a BRICK OVEN and the chief cook and bottle washer started with fresh, "raw" ingredients, and omg, obviously made everything to order. The calzone... BIG, like a folded over 16 inch pizza, cut in three portions that could have easily fed both of us on its own. The sauce, house made, seasoned to perfection and just the right consistancy... Not too thick, not too thin. The green olives in the calzone were fantastic! Just the right bite with the fresh crust and abundant meat. We chatted with the owner for a bit after our meal. He was trained in classical French food and his business partner is an Italian chef. That dressing... Originally a French Classic modified for their concept. My ONLY COMPLAINT... food this good should not be served on disposables. I'm praying they grow their business so they can move into a bigger joint with a dishwasher and serve their food on glassware. So to sum it up... If you're pressed for time, order ahead and take your food home to use your own dinnerware, but whatever you do... GO, GO TO LOS OLIVOS! I can't wait to try the Los Olivos and the chicken ricotta pizzas!

So very excited to see a pizza shop that is not a chain (or Bianchis) pop up on the Westside of town! And especially when it's in an area that will boom very soon with all the action happening there. Place is tiny, essentially a counter and a handful of tiny tables. This is more of a takeout kind of place. Owner used to be a sous chef at Le Rendezvous so he knows what flavors go great on a pizza. He's also not afraid to try new things as well (pinto beans and chorizo on the special La Mexicana??). Pizza comes in two sizes, 14 and 18 inches. We ordered the namesake pizza, Los Olivos (green olives, artichokes, fresh tomato and basil then we added ricotta) and a plain sausage pizza. Crust is more of a hand stretched not thick but not super thin thickness. Came out nicely crispy on edges and not at all soggy. I wish the sauce had a little more spice but he offers real grated Parmesan, oregano and red pepper flakes to accompany. I'm generally not a pizza fan but this was pretty tasty for the convenience of the location and especially the price. The 2 pizzas and 2 canned sodas was under $20! A 14 inch single item (only can choose from cheese, pepperoni or sausage) was on special for $5. There are pasta entrees, sandwiches and salads offered as well and from the looks of other Yelp reviews they sound pretty tasty. All in all, not the best pizza you'll ever have but definitely a great, little local place to check out that's a great value.

This place is the bomb, the family that works there is super cool and 5$ pizzas made in the hood w/yummy fresh ingredients. Now that's keepn it local. I get the Mexican one (cuz who doesn't like beans & bacon on pizza) the fancy mushroom bonanza (I feel healthy eating this & I get HS flashbacks trying to make our shrooms digestible). I'm pretty sure those are not $5, but so worth it & than usually a basic pepperoni for the non adventurous folx. They are cut in a crazy non traditional pizza way, which I love bcus sometimes I just want the crust or a super small piece as a snack & sometimes I want the goooie center piece. It's a small joint, more of a pick up & go home type of shabang. This place makes me happy & makes me feel better to see folx from the Menlo community doingthedamnthing vs the gentrified Augustine Mercado haps.

Great little restaurant woodfiring exactly the thickness of pizza i like, with toppings ranging from the traditional American to chorizo to artichokes to alfredo sauce. Few inside seats; several shaded outside picnic benches, which are getting use now that the weather is tolerable. Fourteen-inch one-toppings are always $5, and they open at 10 a.m. daily. Middle-section slices are cut into squares. Judging by my proximity to the place, my middle section will soon be round. There is a parking lot just west of the building.

Cool lil' hole-in-the-wall Italian restaurant. I have been here 4 times and the food was delicious every time. I have tried 3 items. Pizza: Delicious. The dough was perfect and flavorful. Cheese, sauce and toppings were very good. Chicken Parmesan: Almost perfect. I just wish the chicken was fried a little less. Lasagna: Excellent! This is why I come back. This guy knows how to make a lasagna. This is pretty much a one man operation and I hope that he makes it. I understand that he previously worked as a cook in one of Tucson's favorite Italian eateries, so this guy knows something.
(4)Liz R.
The pizza is realllly good. The sizes are huge. The prices are cheap. I have been driving past this place for the last couple of months. I'm on the West side and we don't have that many options. I'm really excited for this place. I really enjoyed the pizza and the owner is very courteous. It looks like a little hole in the wall but the flavors are great. The crust is delicious, and everything tastes extremely fresh.
(5)Andrea G.
I had the mushroom pizza which had portobello, shiitake, and oyster mushrooms with an Alfredo sauce. Very tasty with a great crust. This place is best for take out as there are about 10 seats in the entire place. But the pizzas are ready super quick! The owner is there all the time cooking the pizzas himself. Also, The prices here are great. $5 gets you a pepperoni, sausage or cheese pizza. Waaaaay better than the $5 pizzas from Little Caesars if you are looking for a cheap pie!
(5)John M.
4 stars for the food, an extra star for value. I got a 18" Los Olivos pizza, which was perfectly cooked with a great crust. It was delicious and could have fed a family of four pretty easily. At $9.25 for a well-made gourmet pizza with olives, artichokes, etc., it's probably the best value for pizza in Tucson. They also have $5 pizzas. Not a place to come for a romantic Italian dinner, though; there are places to sit (including on the porch) but there is no ambiance.
(5)Eric G.
I was pleasantly surprised by this hidden little pizza shop on the West side. Located just east of Grande (Mission?) on Congress, this place is well hidden on the north side of the road. The interior is tiny and sparse. There's room for maybe 3 people to eat. Customers who opt to "eat in" can however spill out onto the patio where there are a few tables and around a dozen seats. I chose to get my two pies to go however, opting to enjoy them from home. Pizzas come in two sizes--14" and I believe 18". They also serve a few salad offerings, hot wings, and "light Italian". I only tried the pizzas. I enjoyed both that I had--the Mushroom Trio and the signature, Los Olivos, containing artichoke, green olives and tomato. Delicious! Really excellent crust as well, although it doesn't stand up to reheating like I would hope. Like I said, a great little surprise on the west side that is worth seeking out. One little complaint I have is that prices are not listed on the menu, which hangs above the counter. I believe though that pricing for the 14" pizzas are typically right around $9 and the larger are around $11. Oh, and like any self-respecting pizzeria, there are deals to be had on a slice and a drink. Go, find it and enjoy a slice of pizza!
(4)Miguel A.
This place gets my 5 stars instead of 4 because the Los Olivos $5 pizza has earned my taste over Little Caesars Hot-n-Ready pizzas. Enter this small location and find yourself inside a bar table with 2 stools against the front window facing the outside patio with shaded seating and Congress traffic, or choose to sit on the small two people table next to the bar table.(no alcohol is served). For the same price of a Hot-n-Ready you get a 14" just right crispy crust pizza with minimal grease yet delicious pepperoni or any other topping you prefer(you may be surprised in the choices available). I took a pizza home and my guests pointed out a better and home-made taste in these than the competitions. These guys oughta open up more locations fast.
(5)Lindsey F.
Growing up on the west side, and now living downtown, I am so pleased that this place a) exists, and b) is good enough to come back to! We ordered a large pizza and two salads to go on a chilly night. The large pizza was super big, but cut into squares which made it easy to eat a lot of. Not a bad thing, considering it was really delicious. The crust isn't what I'd call thin - it has great texture and seems freshly made. The salads (los olivos salad and the antipasto) were fresh and had pretty decent toppings for how inexpensive they were. I ordered and got there 10 minutes later, the food was ready for me to pick up. The one star off is because the pizza was a bit cold, but that may have had to do with it being cold outside. All in all, delicious food right in the neighborhood. I can't wait to try everything else. Go and support your local west side business!
(4)Mike S.
Man, this strange little joint made a believer outta me. I went early week and got the 5$ one topping pizza. I have to admit, I got a little scared when it seem to only take about six or seven minutes to cook the pizza put it in the box and set it in front of me. My fears were totally unfounded, however, when I opened the box once I got home to eat this wonderful pizza. The crust steals the show, as there is not much cheese or sauce, seemingly by design. I'm a pizza dude, so it's nice to add another good spot in our sleepy little town.
(5)Mark C.
My first time there, just in town for a bit. They Sell pizza by the slice with soda, for $5.00. The pizza was good. A very good alternative to a chain restaurant. Hard to find a mom and pop pizza restaurant on the west side.
(3)Diane T.
I drove by this place several times before I finally stopped in to order a pizza. The "Los Olivos" (all veggie) is super! I like the crust, the sauce, the toppings, the cheese. And it's quick -- makes me wonder what the other pizza places are doing that they take so long. It's one of the best pizzas I've had in Tucson -- and the best thing is, it's close to home. Getting in and out of the parking lot is a little problematic, but the pizza is well worth it.
(5)Sam T.
I was happy to see a pizza place on the west side of town that wasn't Pizza Hut or Domino's (or Bianchi's. I'm not a fan...) and called in to order a pizza. I was excited to hear that they had a promotional deal for 14" pizza's Monday through Thursday which beat out any other pizza place. I was told 10 minutes, drove down 20 minutes later, waited, and then found out that my order ticket had apparently disappeared into the ether and I had to wait while they started the order fresh. Very frustrating, but the minimal cooking crew was very apologetic and polite. I ended up dismissing this issue as problem once I tasted the pizza, it was fantastic! Bread was very dense and soft, but without being thick or doughy. Cheese blend was great without being greasy, just right proportion of sauce, and the mushrooms and olives were fresh, and cut thick. They also give you cups of REAL Parmesan cheese, not the powder. This will definitely be my go-to pizza place
