Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

It's my plan B when I'm too tired and I'm not ashamed to admit it lol I don't think I ever steeped inside I always use the drive through and head home before my burrito gets cold. It's always prepared right juicy and flavorful. I wish they would spice up the salsa and make it hotter and won't be so tight about giving those away ... But still a great place to stop before heading home if you work late : )

I've always had fond memories of this place...mostly coming here in the wee hours of the morning after a house party or desperately needing a pick me up when studying for finals; two extremes...I know. I don't care what anyone says, but nobody does carne asada fries better than Betos. They are extremely generous portion wise for the poor, college kid. All that guacamole, carne asada meat, cheese, sour cream, and salsa just layered on top of those warm, greasy fries. It's a heart attack waiting to happen! Seriously, one order of carne asada fries and you're set for two meals! I'm pretty sure it contains a million calories but nobody in college counts calories right?! If for some crazy reason, you decide to order something else, the California, shrimp, or chorizo burrito are all excellent options. This place is definitely a Tucson favorite, and although there are other Mexican alternatives in the neighborhood, I always seem to find myself back here more often than not.

Across the street from Mosaic Cafe, and the food at El Beto is far far tastier. Beans? Green chile anything? Good, and although prices are going up (everywhere), it's still a good deal and the people in there are so friendly. A must stop on the way home (and breakfasts are worth a special morning trip.)

They lost a Beto - now called "El Beto" - great carne asada fries and the wife LOVES the potato, egg & cheese burrito!

Ok, if you got to Tucson for the Gem show, this place is a must for at least one breakfast. Fast service, large portions, great flavor...this is what Taco Bell wishes it was.

This is by far the best los Betos in Tucson. And way better than any of the Vivas too. The best burrito they have is the "Tucson" burrito, but pretty much everything they make is pretty good. It never fails on late night binges!

I stop at Los Betos to feed my kids on the way to school. They love the Breakfast burritos. I just think they are pretty OK. The are Cheap and Fast, though.

Carne asada fries - good portion, decent taste. Didn't like that all the toppings were separated...had to mix it up a bit, but it hit the spot. Apparently watery hot sauce. California burrito looked dinky.

If you ever need late night Mexican food on this side of the I-10. This place is the place to go hands down. Even when compared to other Los Betos in Tucson this one is probably my most favorite. Just like every other Mexican place in Tucson this one wasn't trying to the be the cleanest one. Its not filthy but its just not that clean either. There is a decent amount of tables inside to dine in but I usually just use the drive through. The wait for my food is usually painless, I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes for my food. One thing that sets this Los Betos apart from others is that fact that they pack in your sides like crazy. My beans are usually spilling over into my rice and burrito because they give so much which is a huge plus considering most other places I've tried barely give you a little more than half of that space in the to-go box. I highly recommend anyone try this place if they are unsure if its a good stop or not.

Burritos are great I like the Carnes Asada. Low prices for what you get. I like the drive thru option. Fast and curtious staff. Great late night option for dinner instead of cooking.

It's open 24 hours, but the traffic is very light. If you've been drinking a lot - go for it. If not, I stay away.

After a not so great experience trying to find avocado in my sub Wednesday for lunch, I decided to go to Los Betos for a late evening meal. I recommend the egg, potato, and cheese burrito with guacamole - you can order it anytime. Now, this is not on the menu, but a potato and cheese and chorizo and a egg and cheese and chorizo burrito are on the menu. Since it is not on the menu, sometimes it is like a game of telephone trying to make sure the cook knows what I want. This time, it came with tomato and no cheese. Either way, the burrito is good-sized, appears to have been made in a tidy area, and is less than $5. The "salsa" is watered down red sauce. I do recommend this location, but if you order the same thing, it might be different each time.
