Today was our first time here. I ordered the Reuben and my fiancé ordered the C.C. Ryder fat burger. All in all it was amazing! Really great Classic American food that totally put me in a food coma. The portions were perfect, and my fiancé got the bigger fat burger. There was a generous portion of chili and the Ruben wasn't too greasy, which is an issue with me almost every time I have. The desert was amazing! I'm a fan of malts, and they have more than just your standard 3 favors. I had mint chocolate chip malt, nom nom nom! My fiancé had the Hot apple pie à la mode. The crust was soft and hot, and didn't taste like preservatives. It tasted home made. It was light, and fluffy and sweet and the ice cream was flavorful and didn't flood the plate. All in all I had an amazing experience. The interior was full of classic posters, retro I guess. Very happy with the service. I will be coming back, and I will bring some friends! Oh and I liked that they had a type of mini arcade inside too!

We had an awesome family bday for my 6yr old. He was so excited for the announcement of his name and sundae. Not to mention the amazing hospitality from Alex, Jerry, and Drew for getting his Lego tires from behind the horse shoe booth. He is so great full. Thank you?!

I just attempted to eat at this resturant and they didn't have space for 7 people so I grabbed two booths. There was a piece of food on one and I tried to flick it off only to find that it was COVERED in ants as was the booth. To say the least I left as quickly as possible. Don't go here.

Little Anthony's has been around for years, but it hasn't always been this good. If you had it with this place 8-10 years ago, it's time to give it another try. My In-laws were in town for my birthday, and were looking a place where their five wonderful kids-under-10 could have fun, and the adults could enjoy a good meal. Somehow they picked Little Anthony's. The service was pretty great; fast and friendly even though it was really busy and there were eleven of us. I made special order; a burger with peanut butter and banana. (It was Elvis's favorite burger, and I was feeling the 50 theme.) They made the special order without a fuss and did it really well. I didn't hear a single complaint about the food, except that there desserts were to big. (Which is silly.) For my birthday, they effectively embarrassed me- which was part of the fun. Beware that you might get a peck on the cheek.

Had a real blast for dinner here tonight! Our waitress was the bee's knees, so on top of things all night... Wish I got her name! She was a mature woman, not hard to miss since it seemed like the rest of the staff were frosted squares. My Daddy-o and I both ordered the Hunk-a-Hunk Burnin' Love Burgers... and made them doubles. Gigantic mistake with the double patties, all puns intended! Only because one patty was so very vast! No Mickey D's floppy patties here. The burgers came out hot and tasty; meat seasoned well, fresh veggies, soft buns. Fries were cooked well too. Daddy-o ordered the king's "All Shook Up" shake. It was boss! Only real food con was the Chili... Chili is so easy to make, why use canned? And if it's not canned, all apologies but it was kind of disgraceful. (Total chili snob in me just spoke). So if you are lookin' for a made in the shade night out I would say Little Anthony is a hip hang to try! Great place for the ankle biters too!

Short and sweet: walked in sat down, ordered water, looked at limited breakfast menu, thanked the waitress and left. So much 50's hoopla around that one would probably not have time to notice the very small menu nothing to write home about. If I ever try again I would hope there is something more to their menus. Very nice staff... I did feel bad walking out :(

The staff is very attentive, the food is very good and we love the music. Roberta and her staff made a young 9 year old birthday very happy. They made him feel so special by calling his name and the awesome way they served him the Wipeout. Great memories.

Cool 50s diner, from what seems to be really from the 50s (that's a good thing). They did trivia every 30 minutes for free sundaes and if you check in on Facebook you get a free drink, made it fun. Food came out super fast...didn't even finish our appetizer (again that's good), got fish and chips, meatball sub, burger, mozzarella sticks chicken strips...everything was really good, exactly what you'd expect from a diner. Super cheap for 5 people (2 adults, 3 kids), an app and dessert for everyone. Desserts were excellent, s'mores sundae I loved! I will say that while our waitress was nice but she was a little flaky, forgot some things. Definitely some actors from the Gaslight Theatre working which made it seem authentic but truthfully a few were a little um different ha. My biggest issue was when we arrived at 545 there was a 30 minute wait (no big deal typically)...told that there were reservations (at a diner???) so the 3 open tables were for them. After waiting 25 minutes we were seated after someone left...when we left, at 745 2 of the tables were yet to be filled. Just seemed really dumb to have open tables AFTER the reservation time was past. There were actually people outside waiting when we left, just weird. Overall i liked this place, will come back, good food and fun for the family!

While the chrome has lost a little polish in the last 20 years, Little Anthony's remains a Tucson icon for affordable, delicious, Americana with a blast from the past ambiance that can't be beat. The best buys are the kid's all you can eat pancakes on weekends and the World's Smallest Sundae. There's a different special every day and the staff is always friendly and the food is consistent year in and year out. This is the ideal place to bring the kids because there are crayons and paper on every table. The staff is very kid friendly and understand when to ask your kiddo what they want and when to ask mom or dad if it's ok. They're really supportive of spills and fussy kiddos. There are often hula hoop contests and other interactive opportunities. Never ever leave without dessert, they do it right and that small sundae is less than a whole scoop in the tiniest of dishes, so it's totally guilt free and there's always room for it :) Finally, if anything is ever wrong, just let them know. More than just about anywhere else, these guys will go out of their way to make it right.

You walk right into 50's nostalgia. Cars, photo opps, decor, and the staff dresses up. All of this make automatic fun for kids & families. Each table gets a sheet of paper & crayons to draw on during your visit. Children also get cute little diner hats they can color & wear. Wonderful to keep the kids busy. The menu is huge. I normally stick to classic burgers or sandwiches. The beef burgers are big. I can't eat more than half of one myself. The turkey burgers are thinner. I prefer the thinner patties. The fries and onion rings are good. Normally, I end up with the fries because the ranch is so good. I also love the pizza. Don't forget about the ice cream! Milkshakes, Malts, Sundays, banana splits and more. I enjoyed all the milkshakes/ malts I have tried. The sundaes they place all the syrup on the bottom. I wish they would do some on the bottom with a bit on top. For instance I ordered a vanilla sundae with caramel topping. All of caramel was on the bottom. So the first half of my Sunday was just vanilla. The bubblegum with gummy bears, cool whip, sprinkles and a cherry. Came out nicely due to no syrup. Overall the diner is cute, nostalgic and fun. Mini arcade included. My main complaint they don't sale coke products. When I think 50's diner, I think a nice cold coke with my burger. They have coke decor so it's a let down.

I didn't eat AT this restaurant. My husband and I just picked up some pizza to go. As embarrassed as I am to admit it, I can easily eat a whole pizza on my own as it's one of my favorite foods. However, the pizza from this place is/was subpar. All I tasted was sauce. I could have saved my money and ate a jar or marinara sauce. Just for reference, I had a cheese pizza. I don't think I'll ever eat pizza from here again. There was NO FLAVOR at all. Meh.

  • Cristina R.

Yum! This place is an experience of it's own! Had lunch here before a show at the gas light theatre and my God was it good! Had the chilli cheese burger which just transported me to my childhood years (happy tear, sniff!) You just want yo eat everything they have here, I am particularly interested in their pizza, have heard rave reviews about it. Must go back soon and have it! Fair prices for great, no nonsense food!

  • Jacqueline S.

After moving back from California I was so disappointed to see how their prices had risen. What was once an affordable dinner for two ($14 to $20) the bill the last time I was there came to around $28. Maybe it wouldn't be so much of an issue if it wasn't for the fact that I love this place. It was my go to any time I wanted a good milkshake and fries, and the price was so great for the yummy food. I still love the food and the atmosphere. But the spike in prices is just such a downer. I will continue going here, but it will be significantly less than(twice in 3 months) to how often I'd go before (at least 4 times a month).

Horror story service, waitress took our order and disappeared for forty minutes, finally brought us cold food. Food is only so-so and prices high, this place is very over-rated. It only stays in business because of it's 50's diner style, it takes their mind off how poor the food is. Avoid it .

  • Jes W.

Ick. Ice tea tastes fishy. French dip was grey. Au jus was gross. Fries were cold and tasteless.

  • Micha M.

My husband and I have been here for breakfast in the past and enjoyed it, but after today we won't be going back. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, there should have been no waiting, yet we had to wait more than a couple minutes to be seated because the hostess wasn't around and the waitress at the register was counting quarters. After we were finally seated, we never even got waited on. A server walked past us twice, not to help other customers or anything, and he didn't even seem to notice we were there. What's even more pathetic is the waitress who blew us off to count her quarters saw us walk right past her on the way out and didn't seem to give a flying fig. I called the manager and she asked if we had been at a booth or table and I told her we were at a table. Then she repeated the question like she hadn't been paying attention. She apologized for our bad experience there, but the whole time during our conversation she seemed pre-occupied. I've had lousy service in restaurants before, but never no service. I'd give it zero stars if it was possible.

Little Anthony's Diner has been there for FOREVER. Last time I visited was in 1992. I was about 11 years old. The last birthday party I went at Little Anthony's Diner was for a snobby classmate named Brittany. She was getting a shitload full of "New Kids On the Block" gifts while I watched and munched away on my cheeseburger and slurped down vanilla milk shake. I was more excited over my burger and milkshake than her gifts, really. Now I'm in my 30s. That place hasn't changed a SINGLE BIT and the food tastes as good as I remember it!

After a superb exchange with the owner, we were intrigued to try Little Anthony's again. We came by on a Tuesday night and experienced much better service, and definitely improved food. This time, we ordered a French dip, the Hunk a hunk burger, and a banana split. All were excellent . The beef in the dip was tender and the baguette looked pretty darn gourmet. Tony, the owner, actually popped by our table to chat and ensure we were having a great experience. I don't know about you, but all I want in an evening out is good food and to support an awesome local business when we can. I feel confident in saying that Tony cares a LOT about his business, making customers happy, and being a long time fixture in Tucson. He took care of our meal and made us feel valuable. We are definitely impressed!

**Update** (apparently the discount is still good) THE 10% OFF OFFER THRU YELP IS NOT ACCEPTED! Apparently they won "best pizza in Tucson" according to other Yelp reviews, so I decided to try Little Anthony's. Their pizza is technically from their pizza shop in the diner called "Grandma Tonys". The pizza was good (best so far since I moved here from Western NY) but I'm weary that it was called the "best" of Tucson. Not enough sauce, and the pizza itself was slightly bland. The crust however wasn't skin-thin however like the rest of the pizza in Tucson, a plus in my book. The diner has a great atmosphere with trivia games where they give away free ice cream. The rest of the food I saw being brought out looked delicious. Can't wait to visit again!

My family loves Little Anthony's. It's fun to have birthdays at, the food portions are pretty large, and the ice cream and malts are yummy. Some of the lunch specials come with a small Sunday which is a nice daytime treat occasionally. Tonight our server was Ysabel. She was fun and treated us well.

As others have said the pizza here is amazing! Have tried a lot of things on the menu and everything is really good. I like the 50's decor and the various events they have going on here from time to time. For example, they have trivia questions and it's neat to see kids go up and answer questions for fun. They also have car shows, which are fun to go to. Servers are really upbeat and they give speedy service, even when the place is packed. If you're looking for a fun and unique place to go to on the east side, this is your place.

Spent the weekend in Tucson and visited a few places. By chance we happened on to Little Anthony's and to my excitement, there was even a car show happening. Which was great as the wait time for a party of two was 45 min. We finally were seated and everyone had these amazing smiles...for a saturday night and the commotion outside, this is pretty shocking (well from one who is used to LA service). I got the bar b q beef sandwich which was great...felt as though i was doing a curl, the sandwich was so heavy. thank you all for a great experience and an enjoyable meal

Sept. 2013: After hearing Grandma Tony's Pizza won best pizza in Tucson, I had to go give it a try. I ordered a pineapple and olive cheese pizza and I gotta say, it was delicious and prepared to perfection. I still love Renee's the best was this was awfully tasty. A little bonus: I showed my server Little Anthony's website on Facebook, and she docked the cost of the drinks. What a deal! I really like this place and was happy to hear Elvis's banana and peanut butter sandwich is a regular on the menu. Yum.

I've been encouraged to try Little Anthony's Diner again so last night was a good night to try. Hubby, Mom and I stopped in for dinner. Mom ordered the fish and shrimp platter. She loved it. She got dessert too. A butter pecan ice cream cone. We'd surprised her and she had a blast! Our waitress was friendly and attentive even though the restaurant very busy. Full disclosure: I had a gift certificate for Hubby and me, so all I'll say is that our food was great! We're really happy we returned and gave it another try. We'll be back.

We just love this place. Tonight we had a green chili cheese crisp, a couple of ice cold beers and some ice cream. That, in addition to an amazing server and winning a free sundae (read up on your Elvis trivia before heading here) made for a fantastic date night. The cheese crisp was to die for. Spicy, cheesy, crispy.... Pure heaven. We will be back soon!!!

Do you like vintage 1950's nostalgia? Do you enjoy quality pizza? Top notch burgers? Quick service? Then try one of Tucson's landmark diners: Little Anthony's. I generally despise themed restaurants. They're often establishments that cultivate prosaic cuisine while utilizing a ruse as an artifice to mask their undistinguished eats. Little Anthony's, on the other hand, is a benchmark for how these type of restaurants should operate. Over the years, I have dined here and each time I depart fulfilled and eager to return in the impending future. The quality of beef they use on their burgers is ace. There is never a dry patty, yet there is the impeccable balance of beef and fat that it never drenches your bun in grease thereby ruining your entire dish (Looking right at you, Chuy's on Houghton). There is a diverse selection of burger options and there is usually one to fit everyone's pallet. I plan on going through all of them throughout the course of time, slightly altering each one to fit my mood. The other go-to item is the pizza. Now -- a forewarning -- this is not the best pizza to reheat. Out of the oven and fresh, it's superior to most other pizza dives in the Tucson area. The cheese is delicious, the sauce provided meets the happy-sauce-median that I find essential to a high-quality pizza. Too much sauce can ultimately wreck an entire pizza, whereas not enough can leave it a little on the dry, bland side. Their toppings all come off as fresh, although I cannot verify whether they are or not. Not matter, they increase the quality of the pizza without overpowering it; a crime many pizza places commit when it comes to topping-distribution. As for taking the rest of the unconsumed PIzza home... I wouldn't bother. Every time I try to do so, there is something objectionable about it. It loses something -- and I cannot put my finger on a single thing, exactly -- but the consistency alters, the cheese doesn't taste as appetizing and the sauce has seemingly altered its biological state. But I won't hold that as a slight against Little Anthony's / Grandma Tony's. This pizza was made to be consumed in one sitting; not for leftovers. Also, the ice cream is a staple of the restaurant. Always cap off your meal with some sort of ice cream. Whether it's a small cone or a sundae, your meal becomes complete (and your stomach starts to ache, but it's worth the pain, I guarantee itâ„¢) the moment you deplete your dessert. If, for whatever motive, you have not feasted at Little Anthony's and have resided in Tucson for longer than a few weeks, do not waste any more time... navigate your auto vessel there and give them a shot.

I love the atmosphere, the food, the music, and the kid friendlyness. I love eating there and I loved working there when I was 16. Great local place!

This place is a Tucson favorite, awesome if you have kids but still a good time if you don't. Great pizza and burgers and also have a very good breakfast. I would highly recommend it as a fun night out with family and friends. The theater next door is also always a great time.

I am a huge fan of diners in general but I am generally disappointed in the cleanliness issues that seem to follow diners. ( not sure why that is) Little Anthonys have all of the vibe of a traditional "DINER" but is incredibly clean. We came on a Tuesday for Taco Tuesdays and also had the tortilla soup (which was incredible). BUT THE SHAKES... OMG, THE SHAKES! I rarely eat ice cream and shakes but I could not stop eating my shake and finish that in about 5 minutes! Service was prompt and attentive and all of the staff dressed in traditional diner costumes. We love this place and had a blast we'll come back often.

"It was an itsy, bitsy, teenie, weenie, Yellow, polka dot bikini, That she wore for the first time today." Down, boys! Our Little Anthony's waitress sported a perky ponytail and swingy, yet modest uniform paired with bobby socks. As she pulled up a chair and scribbled her name on our paper place mat, I realized the quick time-travel back to an era I really don't remember -- but somehow feel deep in my bones -- had kicked in. It was exactly right. Vinyl 45s decorate the walls. "What's a "45?" you ask. Google it! (and steer clear of references to guns, please! ) Little Anthony's -- with its steady stream of chart-toppers from the 50s and 60s -- is a much-needed break from the crazy pace of the new millenium. So, hey ... "Are You Lonesome Tonight"? Well, "Soldier Boy" (or anybody known as a "Sweet Talkin' Guy"), dab on some "Love Potion #9" and "Walk Like a Man" to Little Anthony's Diner to meet "Tammy" (or "Bobby's Girl" or whoever!) and "Rock Around the Clock" (or 'til the place closes). How about a burger and shake after a show at the neighboring Gaslight Theater? Or,"Wake Up, Little Susie" for breakfast. (My breakfast burrito was unexpectedly memorable, btw!) Pure fun. You gotta do the diner at least once in your life -- and this is one of Tucson's finest!

I had been wanting to try Little Anthony's Diner for quite some time. Finally made it last Sat. Walked in and got seated right away by a pretty rude hostess. Didn't welcome us, just showed us to our table. We sat there for well over 10 minutes waiting for a waiter or waitress, no one showed up. We ended up walking out. The place was not that crowed, there were empty tables. Seemed like the staff was just not interested in helping anyone. I will not go back. Looked like they could use some sprucing up. I realize it is an old place, but it defiantly needs a good cleaning. Maybe the food is good, but the service was terrible.

This is more of 3.5 stars. The food is maybe slightly above average, but consistent. People come here for the atmosphere, a 50's diner with a dj playing tunes from Elvis to the Big Bopper. Its a great place to take kids, but between the music and the kids it is loud. Try the shakes.

Little Anthony's Diner is a great place to eat. The menu has a good variety of tastes from Mexican to American to Italian. The food is freshly cooked and made to order. The desserts are delicious too, especially the mud pie :) The wait staff and managers are always happy to serve you with a smile. Fun place for the whole family and special birthday surprises!

I give it four stars for our waiter. Table of 13 majority of it is kids. He was great and patient. He also was pretty quick at bringing everything so that's nice. Especially with two baby's who were crying. There was no one there at 11 but it's a cute diner. I love the olden days so I love the atmosphere. I had a hamburger. It didn't have a lot of flavor. It didn't satisfy my craving. But overall experience was great.

The food isn't the greatest, but we go for the ambiance! We take people for their birthday and just for a night of fun. They have great fried pickles and awesome home made chips ( when they are not over cooked)! I also love the cherry coke. Worst thing I ever had....pulled pork Sammy...so much BBQ sauce that it was inedible!

Love Little Anthony's! Ordered two 'blue plate specials" to go and they were so good. Great turkey dinner and meatloaf dinner. Had sticker shock though when I found out my husband was charged almost $24 for these two meals! Their website menu said $9.19 for each meal but this was still $4 too much after tax! I decided to call to inquire and alas, the price was increased to $10.99 each (a bit of a price jump, yes?) but wasn't updated on their website. I told the gal to let her boss know about this so they could update their menu and she said she would. A few minutes later, she called back and told us we have $4 credit for the next time we come in :) Awwww, wasn't that nice?! Thank you LAD for great customer service!

I want to start by saying that my favorite part about this place is the SERVICE. I have never in my life experienced such friendly and helpful people. Not a single one of the servers failed to give me a smile, it was just incredible. Our server was one of the best I've ever had, and I'm punching myself now for not writing down her name. On to the food, I posted a picture of my bacon/olive pizza. I'm sure the other food is great, but if you've never been here you just have to try a pie! Their pizza is excellent. If you want a fun night for your family on a dime, definitely check out Little Anthony's. I'll be definitely requesting to come back here next time I'm in Tucson.

Hated it! I was looking a diner and this what I found. My family and I were very disappointed. We're from NJ so we love diners. This was not a diner! Everything was extremely greasy and dried out! We will never eat here again.

Honestly one of the best Blue cheese burgers in town!!!! I think its called the blue suede burger and I get it with fries!! I love the atmosphere its a great place to sit and enjoy yourself! I would go everyday if I had the time! Little Anthony's is my special treat. The staff is also incredible!! Nothing but rave reviews from me!!

Pretty good. Not as tasty as it used to be, but the ambiance was pretty good and the burger was tasty.

Today I got a pizza and some wings to go. I particularly like that you can put as many toppings on the pizza as you like (there are some premium toppings though). I enjoyed the wings.

This place is fun. It was my family's first time here and they loved it. The atmosphere is as advertised, an old time diner playing Elvis with the staff totally playing the part. The staff was friendly and fun. The food was good but a little pricey for what it was.... typical burgers and diner food with clever names. I can overlook the price of the meal because here your obviously paying for the food plus the fun atmosphere which is OK. We will be definitely be back.

Step back in time with 50's music, wall art and waitress outfits. The food is not 50's, fresh off the grill burgers! Yum!

This is more of 3.5 stars. The food is maybe slightly above average, but consistent. People come here for the atmosphere, a 50's diner with a dj playing tunes from Elvis to the Big Bopper. Its a great place to take kids, but between the music and the kids it is loud. Try the shakes.

This place is a Tucson favorite, awesome if you have kids but still a good time if you don't. Great pizza and burgers and also have a very good breakfast. I would highly recommend it as a fun night out with family and friends. The theater next door is also always a great time.

Ordered a chicken fried chicken, chicken was bland and so was the gravy. The mashed potatoes with gravy were room temperature. Waitress was friendly and kept up with the drinks.

Horror story service, waitress took our order and disappeared for forty minutes, finally brought us cold food. Food is only so-so and prices high, this place is very over-rated. It only stays in business because of it's 50's diner style, it takes their mind off how poor the food is. Avoid it .

I LOVED the atmosphere of this place. The music, old cars, and even the old soda bar. Though I have to give mark down for the food. I started off with the fried Mac and cheese. Someone must have been frying fish in the same oil as the mac. They tasted a little funky, kinda like when you stick your head in a fish tank after you drained all the water. Imagine that but translating into taste instead of smell. Next came my fried shrimp. Now don't get me wrong, I know we are not next to an ocean by any means, but this shrimp tasted VERY old. For dissert we have the hot fudge brownie. The fudge nor the brownie were warm at all. To be honest I don't even think it was fudge. Tasted more like cold hershey syrup. From the experience of my meal I would be horrified to see the state of the kitchen in the back. The wait staff were very very polite though and I loved their energy. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good eaither. More just Meh. Great place for kids.

I rate Little Anthony's as a 5 star diner because it offers me the exact experience I wish to have when I need a huge malt shake, cherry coke and 50s music in a vintage diner setting. I have to ride 25+ miles from Dove Mountain to the boondocks of E Broadway to get to this place. It goes to show just how much I like it. Their shakes are really yummy and they don't just serve you 1 cup: they give you the shaker too, which usually contain another cup and a half. You get the whipped cream too and the cherry on top :-)) My fave is the vanilla malt, but sometimes they offer a lemon shake which is killer. I love their music selection (where else can you listen to Fats Domino's version of Blueberry Hills?), the games they organize for the diners from the DJ's booth. It's a perfect place to celebrate a birthday, all complete with balloons, photo and a gift ice cream. The staff is friendly and polite, they pay attention, and they always try to make you feel good. The menu has a large selection of American diner staples, you'll find those things you expect. I rarely eat anything else than my shake there, but when I did it tasted good (pizza, wings). All that I can say is that Little Anthony's doesn't pretend to be anything else than what it is: a friendly, casual, lively family diner in the tradition of the 50s. A slice of Americana :-))) I wish them the best and hope they stay open for business another 50 years!

Of all the diners I've been to in Tucson, this has the most bubble-gum-pop-50's-style feeling that I come to a diner for. The waitresses wear black and pink skirts and chew bubblegum. The booths are bright red vinyl. There's a standard juke box and a small arcade room. They serve standard diner fare, although they break up breakfast, lunch, and dinner, even though most diners serve each all day. My favorite menu item is the mozzarella sticks (deep fried cheese I think is what they call it). Yes, I did take a picture of my order. Most of the food is not as greasy as at Broadway Cafe but tastes just as bad as 5&Diner. They close at 9pm most nights which is very early for a diner and very inconvenient. They're located directly behind the Gaslight Theatre and even have an indoor walkway separating the two, so you don't have to walk in daylight (or nightlight if it's night) to get from the theatre to the diner. Service is slow but not forgetful. Food comes out quickly but drinks are slow to be refilled.

After having passed by Little Anthony's for many years in favor of places that didn't feature classic cars and 50's theme schtick (and a fear of getting sucked into the Gaslight for a magic show), we decided to try it anew as a place where my two little boys could have a fun meal. Little Anthony's fit the bill and has provided a solid place for the family to go for dinner--and when combined with classic auto show nights a trip here can be the highlight of the week for my car loving 5 year old. Pizza is very good and hasn't changed in decades (and that's a good thing!). Though i wish that the pizza wasn't made egg, which my littlest is allergic too. Burgers are big with a good beef flavor and fries are served hot and golden--what else could you want in a red basket? Ice cream sundaes and shakes also make this a more interesting alternative to a bland frozen yogurt strip mall joint. Kids get an extensive menu akin to the regular-sized menu but with pictures to circle for their choices. I would like to have more 'fresh' alternatives for the kids plates, but considering this is a burger and pizza diner that is a condition of the offerings across the board. The food here is good, but secondary to the experience. The game room/arcade, crayons and butcher paper table covers, and the occasional trivia questions and songs from the live DJ (on busier times) is entertaining while waiting on meals to be served.

Hmmmmm, 50's diner food! Seriously how can you go wrong? The employees are dressed up and this is the perfect place to go as a family. My teenager and son loved this place. The food was definitely diner food but good. I must say the onion rings were delish! We had a great time and I recommend that this is a great place to go out with the fam. I recommend the burgers and pizza. Although, we were pleased with everything we had! Enjoy!

Bubble-gum pop 50's diner complete with girls in poodle skirts and jukebox classics such as Elvis. There are even classic car shows a few times a year in the parking lot. On your birthday, the servers will sing to you, kiss you on the cheeks, and give you a Polaroid which captured the moment. So sit in the red vinyl booths, grab some crayons and get to drawing on the "table cloth" while waiting for some of that greasy goodness we all crave once in a while. Or sit at the Ice Cream Bar with real ice cream shakes, malts, and sundaes. FYI- It is co-joined with the Gaslight Theatre and Grandma Tony's Pizza.

This is tasty diner fare. I had the chicken fried chicken and though the chicken was of a strange texture the gravy was spot on. Mashed potatoes with chunks, yes! Music was an awesome mix of Elvis, The Supremes, and other 50's classics. This place really sets the mood. I just kept feeling as though the Fonz was going to slide through the door or something else equally exciting was about to happen. They are not open very late, unfortunately, and were closing up around 9:00 when we were there. Also, I was confused that many people seemed were ordering pizza. It just didn't seem right. Final note, yes friends, another Recession Buster special. $6.00 on weekdays gets you a cheeseburger, fries, drink, and ice cream sundae!

This place isn't for those who are counting calories, but every now and then, when you want some delicious greasy food, this place hits the spot! Chicken fingers, burgers, club sandwiches and shakes, Little Anthony's has all of your diner staples. They have the 50's style down, with checkered floors, pink paint, and pictures of Elvis and Marilyn all over the walls. The tables are covered with paper and are supplied with crayons, enabling customers to engage in rousing games of tic-tac-toe or hangman while they wait for their food. The place used to get packed, but I haven't had to wait the last several times I've gone. I recommend Little Anthony's for simple diner food. Their milkshakes are among my favorite, but the food is just alright.

Good fun diner with great lunch specials. Never had any issues with service or incorrect orders. They provide crayons and a paper tablecloth to draw on (kids love it)! Note that it can get very busy around showtime at the Gaslight. They hold car shows once a month also.

I went to a birthday party here as a kid and it blew my mind. This was back when they would still sell bubblegum cigarettes (the kind that you blow out and a powdery smoke would fly out the end) and endorse nicotine addiction early. They have modernized a little and moved things around over the years, but I still like to go here with my boyfriend, split a malt (extra malty, please), get him kissed by the cheerleader ice cream girls on his birthday, request Andrews Sisters songs, ride the rocket outside drunkenly, bunny hop, eat fried things, and be nostalgic for an era I didn't even live in. Gaslight Theatre is part of this complex, their shows are cheesy but fun to check out. The food in the theatre is from the diner and you can DRINK IN THERE. I almost forgot to mention the sickest, most fattening thing that I love from LAD. EGG CREAMS!

Great atmosphere, OK food. Definitely a fun place to visit. You can hula hoop, and be serenaded on your birthday. The food however, is only good, on a good day. Stay away from Monday's all you can eat spaghetti, it is very bland. I am a fan of the "wets" - French fries covered with brown gravy, followed with a chocolate coke. The hot fudge is really tasty. The classic car shows are a lot of fun.

Great old fashioned diner experience. Exotic sodas and mom's meatloaf rounds out the choices. Enjoy a meal then go for the show at the Gaslight Theater.

we ended up here on a whim. my husband and i couldn't really decide on what to eat so he mentioned this place to me. i remember seeing the sign for it whenever i'm passing broadway & kolb. the place has a really cool 50's diner feel to it. when we walked in, all the staff was very friendly. someone helped us right away, and while we were waiting for them to get our table ready, we were asked twice if someone had helped us. i think that's a very good sign to good service!! after sitting down and looking at the menu (which has plenty of options) we decided to get a pizza. the pizza was veryyyyyy cheesy! it's cool that you can get unlimited (regular) toppings for the same price. they have a few specialty toppings for a $1.00 (each). when we were done with pizza, we ordered some chocolate malts. they were sooooo good. they were huge, too!! kirby, our waiter was very attentive and kind. will definitely be back!

I always enjoy my time here. The food is good, not great, but good. The atmosphere is fun--it's a 50's style diner that plays 50's and 60's music and not always the big hits (which is nice). Once a month there is a car show in the parking lot--it's a lot of fun to check out all the old cars and then hop in the L.A. for a pizza and a shake. Great place for the kids. Can be noisy, but hey, isn't a diner supposed to be noisy? The service is friendly but a little slow during busy times, but that is to be expected.

Found this cute, retro-style restaurant on Yelp before we left for Tucson for the annual gem shows. The waitresses were adorable, a couple even in poodle skirts! I ordered the BBQ beef sandwich, with 1000-island for my fries. My husband ordered a big cheeseburger and fries, with Ranch for the fries. My sandwich was delicious, however their BBQ sauce sneaked-up on me, and was quite spicy! The meat was wonderful...flavorful and tender. My husbands cheeseburger was VERY good he says. Service was quick and efficient, what was ordered is what we received, and the prices reasonable. The reason for only four stars is that the 1000 and Ranch dressings didn't taste very good, and the Ranch was very runny. Will definitely return next year!

Bad experience.....went for breakfast on 12-22-13. The server was really nice and I have no complaints with the service, the food however, was really poor. I had two eggs with toast, bacon, potatoes, and an order of french toast. My friend had the same, except for ham instead of bacon. The ham smelled and tasted like ammonia and was obviously old and bad, the toast was barely toasted and was basically like plain white bread. The eggs were cooked properly, but also tasted old and had a strange taste....the bacon was ok...just a cheap cut and very thin. The french toast had no flavor and had almost no egg batter on it...and was also undercooked and tasted like white bread. All of the food came out at room temperature and nothing was hot. The coffee was bitter/burnt and tasted like it was in the pot for hours....also a very cheap coffee with a bad flavor. The potatoes were greasy and all clumped together. I know restaurants have good days and bad days....but I will not be going back to find out.

We went to eat at Little Anthony's before going to the Gaslight Theater. The atmosphere is very 50's-ish and the staff is attentive and polite. If you go for the ambience, it's a great place. The food is nothing spectacular but is plentiful and inexpensive. Both my husband and I had hamburgers. I had the california burger which was okay but messy with so much avocado that it dripped out the sides when I took a bite. Comes with lots of french fries. My husband enjoyed his "La Bamba" burger (comes with green chilies). If you want the diner experience this is a good place to go. If you want convenience if you're going to the Gaslight, this is a good place to go. If you want a great dining experience, this may not be the place to go.

This is like stepping into a time machine and blasting to 1955! The waitstaff are wonderful, the menu is full of options for every diet and lots of comfort foods. Also, grandma Tony's pizza is great as well. We take our son here for birthday dinners or eat here before a gaslight theatre show. The shakes are very delicious!

Meh.

Horror story service, waitress took our order and disappeared for forty minutes, finally brought us cold food. Food is only so-so and prices high, this place is very over-rated. It only stays in business because of it's 50's diner style, it takes their mind off how poor the food is. Avoid it .

  • Susan B.

Yum!

Great place for kids.

we ended up here on a whim. my husband and i couldn't really decide on what to eat so he mentioned this place to me. i remember seeing the sign for it whenever i'm passing broadway & kolb. the place has a really cool 50's diner feel to it. when we walked in, all the staff was very friendly. someone helped us right away, and while we were waiting for them to get our table ready, we were asked twice if someone had helped us. i think that's a very good sign to good service!! after sitting down and looking at the menu (which has plenty of options) we decided to get a pizza. the pizza was veryyyyyy cheesy! it's cool that you can get unlimited (regular) toppings for the same price. they have a few specialty toppings for a $1.00 (each). when we were done with pizza, we ordered some chocolate malts. they were sooooo good. they were huge, too!! kirby, our waiter was very attentive and kind. will definitely be back!

Get photographs and memorabilia hung up on the walls. Several items to choose from and you can draw on the table!!! AWESOME!

Great diner! Great atmosphere! Great food! I especially love their vanilla shakes which I have to eat with a spoon and a straw, yummy! I love the Blue Plate Specials as well. Take your kids or grandkids and go have a pizza.

Great old fashioned diner experience. Exotic sodas and mom's meatloaf rounds out the choices. Enjoy a meal then go for the show at the Gaslight Theater.

Enjoy!

Very friendly staff. The turkey was fresh off the bird, but the gravy tasted like flour not turkey. Overall, nice people, great selection and good prices.
