The food The food is the creation of Chef Giancarlo Stefanutto. This is not the Americanized version of Italian food most of us are familiar with. It is not the Olive Garden or Papa Johns nor does it taste like it. The food here has a very different taste. We got a white pizza that had prosciutto, arugula, and sliced tomatoes on it. I thought it was good. Not something on the menu at most pizza places. It was a fairly large one person portion. Along with the pizza we also ordered the spaghetti bolognese. It was a good sized lunch portion. It tasted fresh and was flavorful. The service We were greeted upon entry and seated promptly. It was lunch time so we stuck with sodas and water. I did look at the wine list and looked interesting. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and we received great service. The restaurant They have a nice looking patio area for outside dining. The inside is nice looking with black linen table cloths and napkins. For being in a strip mall type of place they did make it look good. Overall This was a $40 dollar (with tip) lunch. I was pleased and full. This place was not something I was expecting in Tucson. Put this restaurant on the strip in Vegas and you will need reservations. Put it in Tucson and it will get mixed reviews. If you go here be prepared it will not be your standard American Italian food!

Visiting Tucson and saw La Mia Toscana on the way to the resort. Thought we would try it instead of hitting up one of the many food chains in the area. Made a reservation for 6pm. When we walked in, hostess was friendly, had our reservation, and asked about our preference of seating, very nice! Atmosphere is a bit upscale yet classic, a bit reminiscent of 70s modern design, including a picture of Sinatra in the corner! Food: The food was amazing, fresh pasta, fresh ingredients, paired very well together. Started with a side garden salad with balsamic vinegar dressing, fresh salad ingredients and excellent balsamic. My husband had the crab ravioli in tomato vodka sauce, and I had a special with tube pasta, homemade sausage, mushrooms in a light cream sauce. Both dishes were perfectly cooked and delicious! Chef Giancarlo was on the premises, and his culinary expertise came through in both dishes. Wines were Italian and also delicious, we just had wine by the glass. No room for dessert, next time we should split a dish as the portions were generous. Service: Was worried about the service, given a few Yelp reviews we had read. We were very lucky in that our server, John, provided excellent service throughout out visit. Friendly, prompt and wanted to ensure that we had a good experience. Overall, if this restaurant was located in a larger market (LA, Phoenix, San Diego), there would be an hour wait for this amazing food. In Tucson, on the night of the PAC 12 Championship game, over half the tables were empty...on a Saturday night. If you reside in Tucson, you need to try this amazing little gem on north Oracle (and ask for John)!

Since writing my review, I have received numerous private "hate" mail messages calling me names, questioning my knowledge of food, my integrity, etc. These messages were all from people that were all new to Yelp with only one review - for this restaurant. I am not the only one who has received "hate" mail - see Steph S. review on 8/21/13. I also received private messages from other Yelpers who said they too received "hate" mail but they haven't posted anything publicly so I won't mention their names. Here is a tip for the owner - if you have great food, you don't need to have people write bogus reviews. You are having some real issues with your food and your staff. Read the reviews, make the necessary changes and the new reviews will reflect the hard work you are putting into your business. When I have harshly reviewed a restaurant and I begin to see the restaurant's rating get better, I go back and I will write an update to my review. I don't want any small business to fail! I want everyone who has the guts to put everything they own on the line to succeed as it takes real determination. But this is totally unacceptable to have you, your friends and/or family write bogus reviews and personally attack people. And you better believe that you are getting way more bad publicity from every one of the Yelpers that have been on the receiving end of nasty messages.

My boyfriend and I wanted to try a new place out for date night. Typically I am the Yelper, but tonight was his night to plan so being the male that he is he opened up Google maps and typed in 'Food'. He clicked the little red dots until it let us to La Mia Toscana, 4.5 star rating. Right away I loved the atmosphere. Such a cute little place! Then we walk in with little to no greeting from the server who came to seat us. The hostess was right behind her and we were quickly handed off to her. She was the nicest person of the evening. Next - the server comes to our table. I wish I had gotten his name. I go to order a glass of wine, he asks for my ID. I just changed purses this morning and had only thrown my debit card into my small bag. I didn't realize that until I went to look for it so I told him that I didn't have it with me. No biggie right? I'm 23. I have worked in the industry I get how it works. Yet, instead of "I'm sorry mam, I can't serve you without an ID," the waiter responded with nothing but "no ID, no wine." ... I was dumbfounded. I responded with something along the lines of 'yeah I just forgot it at home, it's okay'. I even contemplated running down the street to my house 5 min to get it but decided against it. I was displeased with his response, to say the least. Not to mention he, in turn, didn't offer my boyfriend anything to drink... He just walked away. So when he returned, I told him how I felt. His response "I didn't ask because I could tell he is much younger than you" - of course I corrected him and let him now that my boyfriend was also 23 and that he had his ID... He had nothing to say. Now, the food was very good and I will give them that. Ross had the spaghetti bolognese and I had the seafood salad. Anyway, the check came. Ross had one beer, they charged us twice. One under happy hour prices. One regular. I told our server. He took off the cheaper of the two without saying much as he picked up the bill again or as he dropped it back off. He did end up taking the 5 dollar beer off the bill. All things said and done, the place is cute, food was good, service less than satisfactory. BUT I would probably give it another go. Probably won't be anytime soon, but I wouldn't rule it out.

Since I work in the area, I am always on the look out for new places. My boyfriend and I ate lunch here a few weeks ago. Long story short: pretty bad. The only high point was the wine list. They had a nice selection of Italian reds that were mostly reasonably priced. I love Italian wines and there really aren't that many places that have a decent selection. Our appetizer was a 'caprese salad' and a bruschetta. The bruschetta wasn't horrible, but it didn't blow my mind either. At least, it tasted very fresh, albeit a bit bland. The caprese was an embarrassment. The cheese looked and tasted like the block cheese by Kraft that you get at Fry's. Our entrees were equally disappointing. I got the fish pasta special, tilapia with penne and various vegetables. In theory, it wasn't a bad idea. I have been to Italy and especially some if the seaside towns have amazing seafood pastas that celebrate fresh ingredients that are quickly (but amazingly) thrown together. This was not that. The pasta clearly came out of a box. The sauce was super salty. The black olives were canned. Final straw for me was the tilapia. I guess it was the special because it was about to turn (or may have already). I found it basically inedible. Luckily, I was only working a half day so having a liquid lunch just meant I could head home for a mid-day siesta. :) My boyfriend had the pork tenderloin entree, also lackluster (although at least not nearly rancid, so there's that). The waiter had described it as being served with this amazing sauce with porcini mushrooms. What arrived was a skinny, overcooked, lukewarm slab of meat over mashed potatoes that looked suspiciously a lot like boxed potatoes drizzled in a thin sauce. We asked the waiter what happened to the mushrooms and apparently they are 'in the sauce'. Final note on service: our waiter was nice but absolutely clueless. He really didn't know anything about the menu or wine. We had to open our own bottle because he butchered the cork so badly. I felt bad for him- as we were opening our own bottle he kept looking over his shoulder at the kitchen with a distinct fear in his eyes. He mentioned that he didn't want to get in trouble with the owner like an abused kid that knows they're getting a beating when they get home from school. The manager was even worse. He admitted that he knew nothing about the menu when I asked what he would order. Just up the street, there is Michaelangelo's (Oracle and Magee) or Cafe Torino (La Canada and Lambert) where the food is fantastic, the service is great, and they actually make their dishes from scratch. PS: I wanted to check this restaurant out in the first place because there was a talk thread on Yelp about how the owners were harassing anyone that negatively reviewed the place. I notice that the overall rating for this place has gone up since then but that many of the good reviews are from people that just joined yelp, have no friends on yelp, and have next to no activity on yelp. Beware. From the thread, it became apparent that some of these reviews are from either employees that have been asked to write reviews or family members... take it all with a grain of salt.

I was on the fence about posting a review because of the repercussions others received when writing a not so stellar review. But I agree with their comments and their responses and that is what prompted me to write one. My husband and I decided to try a new restaurant for dinner last night and chose to dine at La Mia Toscana. We walked into the place and there were 3 other tables with patrons and quite a few people sitting at the bar. We were greeted by a waiter who sat us down immediately and explained the specials for the night. His accent was very thick and difficult to understand and when I asked him to repeat one of the specials, his snooty attitude increased, As we were looking at the menu he brought us a glass of water and some bread with oil/vinegar. We took a little time deciding on what to order as it was our first experience here. When we ordered our dinner, I opted for one of the specials - a spinach/ricotta filled ravioli dish with a white sauce and truffle oil (sorry can't remember the exact name of the dish) and my husband ordered the seafood soup, which was recommended by the waiter after my husband said he prefers a dish containing red sauce - a bit spicy with some pasta. When we requested an ice tea and a soda, our waiter gave us this look - and said no wine? We politely said that neither of us drank alcohol. Our food came out in an acceptable amount of time. The ravioli dish was just okay. There were 6 raviolis on my plate, a decent size, but definitely not worth the $28 price tag. My husband's dinner consisted of mussels, clams, a few shrimp, a few pieces of calamari, and two prawns - no pasta - not spicy. However, the waiter did bring out some chili oil for him. This dish also had a $28 price tag. We decided to go ahead and order a dessert. We opted for the creme brulee. My husband asked what type of coffee they served. The waiter says, "like expresso?" I then ask if I could order a regular coffee. You would of thought I just insulted him, his family and anyone else he may know. He looks at me and says, "American coffee?". The creme brulee was disappointing. The 'creme' was overcooked and not made from scratch. Creme brulee is my dessert of choice so I can tell when one is made correctly or not. First sign - there were no evidence of the pulp from the vanilla bean. It was not creamy - rather thick like a buttercream frosting. But the topper to the evening is when the waiter came back to the table to drop of the check, looked at the empty ramekin and said "wow". Our total tab was $84.00 - for 2 not so stellar entrees, 2 non-alcoholic beverages, and 1 dessert. Needless to say, we will not return.

Lunch menu very limited. My Italian raised Grandma said the pasta fazul was watery, with hardly any meat or beans. We both ordered lasagna, which is made in a large pan and only needs to be heated and plated. It took forty minutes to get it to the table. There was one table with 10 or 12 women already seated when we walked in, no other business, so I don't understand the ticket time. The lasagna was bland, hardly any flavor. Think I'll stick with Mama Louisas. Or the Olive Garden even though they don't have a genuine Italian running the place.

Fantastic food, fantastic atmosphere, fantastic service: the whole package!!! Kicks butt of all other Italian we have had in Tucson by far! Whoever gave this a one star was off, way off. We had a pasta and a seafood evening special with antipasti that included melon wrapped in prosciutto along with ripe tomatoes & buffalo mozzarella. The service food wine and companion were swell! We intend to return!

This was one of the saltiest eating experiences of my life, and I really like salt. My husband and I dined here last night. We were amazed at how inedible our meal was. We each ordered the side salad- which came with a little oil and lots of salt. He ordered a calzone, super salty. I ordered a bell pepper pizza, which I could not eat it was so very salty. We left wondering if someone had messed up the dough recipe , because it was just that bad, and then remembered our salads. Whoever the chef is, I think this was purposeful. Save your palette eat elsewhere.

Absolutely horrid. I thought folks who had made reviews about the rudeness of the staff were exaggerating, but between that and the utter cluelessness of my server, I know now -- they weren't kidding. My food was lukewarm (even something kept under a heat lamp is hotter), I asked for a refill on my beverage and I swear the server had to think about how to answer the question. I cannot fathom why anyone would intentionally run a restaurant this way, let alone have such poor staff performances. It makes Amy's Baking Company look positively five-star in comparison.

My mom and I were craving Italian food, and I remembered this place since I work out across the street at Platinum Fitness sometimes, so we stopped in for lunch. The place is nice inside, modern. There were only three other tables so we were seated quickly. We decided on two appetizers, the bruschetta and caprese salad. The caprese salad had no flavor, just needed some salt and pepper, and the bruschetta was not good. It had an off putting taste. My mom said she thought the tomato they used was bad. It was one of those weird aftertaste that you can't quite put your finger on. For our entrees we ordered their seafood pizza and spaghetti with Bolognese sauce. It's a good thing we had bread served because those two plates...took nearly 45 minutes to come out! The place was empty, I would hate to see what it's like if it was busy! After about 30 minutes of waiting our waitress, who was attentive the entire time, apologized to us and said that it was a new cook who was having trouble making the pizza. She said that he was on his third try, every time he took it out of the oven it would just fall apart. After another ten minutes, she said the owner had to make the pizza and we would not be charged for the pizza which was good. The pizza was actually pretty good and we both enjoyed it. The Bolognese spaghetti was OK, but I'm convinced they used the same pan to mix the sauce that they used in the pizza because it had a clam sauce taste to it. Bolognese is a meat sauce, but the clam flavor over powered it. Just so happens my mom and I like clam based sauces, so we packed it up and took it home with us. This place is new, so I'm hoping they get all the kinks worked out. Service was good, food needs work.

Went in to give this place a try. Always up for a new exciting restaurant on the NW side. Immediately after sitting down at the bar we were told that if we wanted food it would take 45 minutes. There was no greeting what so ever. And clearly the restaurant was about 50% full if even that. We would of gladly ordered a glass of wine and ate some bread and leisurely waited For a meal. Instead it felt we were intruding. So who knows how the food is. Always make a good impression. I work in the service industry and WONT be recommending this place. Instead we ate great meal at pita jungle and was greeted with a smile.

We have noticed a deterioration in this restaurant's quality recently. In mid December we went to a featured wine dinner which was uninspired, overpriced, and underwhelming. The food was adequate at best, wine mediocre, and there was absolutely no flair in the presentation or service. For $60 per person we expected more. Our guests (4) were equally disappointed. It will be a long time before we return if ever. Disappointing.

I have been here a couple times for lunch during the week, and I can honestly say I haven't had anything that I didn't like. The food is fresh and of great quality. The wait staff is friendly. The restaurant is beautiful. I wish they had a larger selection of menu items, but other then that. It's great Italian! .

Tasty lunch -- pretty quick (20 minutes), considering they take the extra step of preparing a separate pot for gluten-free pastas! Good value and portions for a lunch service.

Some friends said they had a wonderful dinner there recently. Today (10 Mar 14) I went by for lunch. Their tomato-basil soup was one of the best I have had. I then had a wonderful pepperoni, sausage, and anchovy pizza with homemade mozzarella on top; the sauce was genuine Italian, no chain pizza place junk here. The owner/chef was only speaking Italian to someone there, so he must be the real thing. I have noted they have gotten some bad reviews in the past, but if today meant anything, maybe they were learning curves for a new restaurant; I'll go back to check it out again for sure.

I had lunch here with a friend yesterday and was so disappointed! The specials included Minestrone soup (one of my favorites) and so I wasn't horribly hungry decided to order the soup and small salad - how can you mess that up? First and foremost, let's start with the young man at the front door - he took 3-4 minutes to find a menu that didn't look dirty before he could seat us. Once seated we sat for another 3-5 minutes without anyone coming to even deliver water. Once the young lady came she explained the specials and we ordered. I the soup and salad, my friend the eggplant parmesan, which she said the last time was horribly salty, but that she was willing to try again! Bread, if you can call it that, was delivered to the table after another 5 minutes or so (the restaurant was empty, so no excuses). The bread was 4 of the tiniest pieces I have ever seen. No butter, oil or vinegar and she was off! Finally, another 5 minutes later, oil/vinegar arrived, but by that time we had eaten the tiny bread. Next came lunch and when she delivered the 'golden colored' minestrone to me I was shocked! Even more so after tasting it - it was chicken noodle soup!!!!! The noodles were over cooked and gooey, the broth was chicken broth and I counted 4 tiny pieces of chicken and couple of carrots! The salad was nothing more than some field greens with a dash of olive oil and 4 tiny tomato bits. I was so disappointed!!!! My friends said her food was ok this time, so she ate it. Never going back, never recommending - not sure how they are still in business after reading all the other reviews.

Found by accident and glad we did. A local recommended this place while we were staying at the Hilton. Excellent interior atmosphere and authentic service and food. Everything was good but the owners, service, and environment made this exceptional experience.

Dinner last night - had the mussels special and my wife had the lobster fettuccine. We started with the antipasto sampler which was excellent - the aged beef was wonderful. They did struggle to find the bottle of Valpolicella we ordered, but they eventually tracked it down. The main courses were superb, lots of garlic. The desert we ordered was an apple pastry which I would have expected to be served warm, but it was not. We had a great experience, but its obvious they are still getting the kinks worked out of their service & staff.

Last night I decided to head back to la mia toscana, in hopes to have another great dinner. Not to my surprise it was! I started with the antipasto sampler, which was a great choice since i got a little taste of every appetizer on the menu. . Then i decided to try the fettuccine al astice. The fettuccine were cooked just right 'al dente', and the dish was abundant with lobster! I loved that it was fresh, and not doused with butter! I look to going back soon again,

Went here for lunch. Place was empty when we showed up but had very nice decor. We both ordered the drink of the day; strawberry lemonade. It was a little tart in the beginning but was better as we drank it. Bread was really good along with the authentic balsamic vinegar! I ordered a pepperoni/mushroom pizza that was pretty decent. My date ordered the Eggplant Parmesan and caprese salad and she was disappointed with her main dish. When it came time for the bill, we were shocked that our strawberry lemonades a were $6 each!!! We could have gotten a glass of wine or a cocktail for that price. Lunch was fairly pricey with a limited menu. Probably won't be coming back. Good service and great decor but the food needs a little more flavor and more options in general. Michelangelo's on Oracle and Magee is much better and remains my favorite for Italian food!

If you give this joint a low score then you must LOVE Olive Garden. This is authentic Tuscan style Italian good with heavy flavor and made with a lot of love. The owners and employees are great people and go out of the way to make you feel at home. Sundays they an amazing Italian buffet with different dishes coming out every twenty minutes. Try it, don't listen to the negativity because these people are probably regulars at The Macaroni Grill.

Very poor restaurant. We sat down, two other tables were seated. They all had their meals before we even had our appetizer. We waited and waited. We were there for lunch, the paninis finally came. He'd forgotten our appetizer. The panini was not a panini. It was flat bread, not even heated. I ordered one with smoked salmon. The salmon was old, a bit tough, and they had not trimmed the dark fat off, so it tasted extremely fishy. I could not eat it. So, slow service, a forgotten appetizer, and a horrible tasting lunch. The wine was delicious. To be fair, when the server saw that I had not eaten my lunch, he did not charge me. I doubt this place will be in business very long.

My first review posted on 8/8/2013: Ate dinner at La Mia Toscana while visiting Arizona...the food wasn't anything special. I wouldn't go there again. Shortly after writing this review, I received a message from a man named Bill L. attacking me for my opinion. He attacked my looks, made some other disgusting comments that I won't repeat, and then stated that I probably live in my car and know nothing about good food. First of all, I would like to say that I live near DC, every foodie's dream, and know what GREAT food tastes like...and furthermore, I know what great (and authentic) Italian food tastes like. This man is obviously a friend of the owner and was quite possibly told to send messages to Yelpers who had given this restaurant less than stellar reviews, which makes me question the integrity of the people running this establishment. I would have quite possibly given this place a second chance next time I was in town, but after being verbally attacked, I will NEVER go back and will tell all of my friends living in Tucson to steer clear, as well. Totally classless.

What an amazing restaurant. The owners are from Tuscany and their style of cooking is something completely different then anything seen in Tucson before. The food has flavor and spices that accent the different types of pasta and seafood that you don't usually see at an Italian restaurant. Order the pachari scoglio if you're a clam sauce fan. You get a giant plate filled with muscles, clams and some of the most perfectly cooked (al dente) fresh pasta you've ever had. Another Amazing Dish is the Fettuccini al Astice, which has an entire cracked Maine lobster in a cognac sauce. It is to die for!! They also do brick oven pizza which can't be missed. On Sunday they do a buffet and like me, I'm sure you said "a buffet at an Italian restaurant?" Well I can assure you that you won't find a buffet like this for such a cheap price anywhere else. If you stick around long enough you will see so many different dishes come out it will blow your mind. Side note: they also can make the pasta dishes gluten free which is a major benefit for the GF community in Tucson.

My wife and I were immediately greeted by Giancarlo Stefanutto when we walked in. I had a feeling it was going to be good. We had Insalata di mare as an appetizer and Grigliata Misto which today was the Calamari Steak, Swordfish, Salmon and Shrimp. The seafood was fresh and delicious as well as the greens and the bread. The ambiance, atmosphere, service and music made us feel right at home. I can safely say that we'll be back (often) and will introduce all of our friends to this place as well. We have found "our" Italian restaurant in town. Congratulations La Mia Toscana! We are glad you're here!!

We ate here on Saturday evening. Our waiter was very attentive and provided excellent service. After ordering drinks, we were pleasantly surprised to be served complimentary bruschetta sent from the chef. I thought it was excellent with fresh tomatoes and a perfect garlic balance. There are many seafood choices on the menu. I ordered the special of pasta and shrimp in a garlic wine sauce. It had a tasty sauce and the shrimp were cooled perfectly. However, the pasta was not cooked consistently with some pieces being too al dente. I still enjoyed it. My husband ordered the seafood pasta and cleared his plate. My son is a very picky eater, not a fan of seafood. He asked the waiter for spaghetti with marinara sauce (which was not on the menu) and it was no problem for the kitchen to accommodate his request. We also ordered the house salad and there was plenty to share. The bread was amazing and we ate through two baskets of it. We had a great experience and will definitely go back.

A very nice Italian bistro. Authentic fare, excellent wine by the glass menu and attentive service. Appetizers are large easily serving 2. To top it off real table clothes a restitution in Tucson. I have been to dinner here 4 times and never disappointed.

I decided to go here because I heard their advertisements on the radio. I was not disappointed. Everything was delicious. We went for happy hour and had bruschetta, pizza, shrimp cocktail, and a cheese platter. The pizza was amazing. I really enjoyed everything and the bartender Maryanne was very pleasant and made us her Margatini, which was very good. I highly recommend. Also, I went with my father who is Italian and rarely impressed by Italian restaurants and he thought everything was very good.

Absolutely awful! The hostess kicked her mother out of the table and then sat us down there. We waited 10 minutes for a waitress. The owner was smoking Marlboros in the kitchen and we could smell it out in the restaurant. The napkins smelled like mildew. The shrimp scampi special was $37 and the shrimp shells were empty and accompanied by literally 5 pieces of pasta. Everything was super spicy. Just weird for northern Italian food.

Went here for my wife's b-day with the in laws (their choice) and I am intrigued enough by the food to go back. It was a buffet style to my surprise and I am not a huge fan of the serve yourself model but the food was really good. Mussel's were savory and succulent, shrimp and lima beans were surprisingly good, chicken cacciatore and polenta was good, freshly made pasta and bolognese was truly excellent and perhaps the best dish. Server was clearly not accustomed to formal dining and opened our wine at the bar: not cool by my standards and the we waited 20 minutes for all our cocktails and wine to arrive and they came in waves... hard to do a birthday toast when half the table is waiting for their drinks to arrive. All in all the food may have garnered a 4.5 but the service was somewhat marginal so we will go back and render final judgment in the future. Piano player was absolutely fabulous and added a chic ambience to the evening. This place has potential and may need some time to figure it all out but deserves a closer look again very soon.

So many great things about this place. The food was absolutely delicious and very authentic, the staff was amazing and very attentive, the other patrons were also very nice, and the decor compliments the ambiance. They even have a wonderful patio in the front! !!! Definitely recommend this place for families or even a nice romantic dinner with your significant other. Next time we are in Tucson, we will absolutely be back!!!!

Where are all the people?!? The vibe and decor, homemade pasta, and ah-mazing cappuccino was fantastic! The portion was more than I could possibly finish and the fresh bread was delicious. The wine list was extensive compared to most places and had unexpected (in a good way) selections. The flavors are simplistic and effective; perhaps not for everyone's palette but I appreciated that aspect. Go, check it out!! We are definitely going back. :)

Our group of 6 was not prepared for the exquisite food we enjoyed tonight. I am from NY, the other originally from Chicago so we have had good Italian food in our lives, not to mention eating in Italy. 3 of us had the Rigatoni; finally an Italian joint that cooks pasta al dente to perfection. The sauce was flavorful yet delicately seasoned. My wife had the rib eye steak which she was kind enough to let me have a few bites. One of the most flavorful and tender pieces of meat ever. There was a veal marsala, the only response we could get from the eater was a thumbs up, he would not stop to talk. Lastly, the person next to me had the Caccicco; beautifully and elegantly presented. She raved about the taste. Usually with 6 folks you would expect at least one disappointment but we all thought this was a fabulous mea. Certainly the best it Tucson, and one of the best Italian meals ever, anywhere, really. We decided to try the cannolis and coffee. We were not disappointed. My decafinato cappuccino was as good as any in the best coffee shops. The only disappointment was the lack of variety of chicken dishes. However, after dinner I mentioned that to the chief/owner Giancarlo and he said that he can make most dishes with chicken. Will try that next time on a few dishes. Gaincarlo was charming and friendly and his wife Romina is a hoot, a real warm and welcoming old world personality. No, I was not paid to write this, and I am not related in anyway. When I have a 5 star experience I write about it so that others can have the same.

My boyfriend took me here 3 months ago and I'd meant to leave a review then and forgot to. Last night as we drove by I noticed it looked like it was closed and gone, which was just confirmed by the review I just read. Before we went to have lunch there I read all of the reviews here. The positive as well as the negative. We decided to give it a try. Let me tell you first, my parents are first generation Americans from Italy, so I'm über critical. This restaurant, the food, AND the service was excellent. It was a flashback to family friends who owned an Italian restaurant. We had decided to go back for dinner sometime. I guess it won't happen now. So sad that negative reviews here on Yelp might have helped that along.

Their happy hour has $3 wells and $4 drink of the day. The appetizers during happy hour are delicious and priced right. The pizza is a must try. I could not get enough of their French bread.

Went for happy hour on Monday and was pleasantly surprised. The fare was good and priced right. I had the mussel soup and cheese plate and topped it off with tarramisu. We enjoyed talking with the chef/owner Giancarlo about his menu and family -put this place on your bucket list of restaurants you won't be disappointed. See you at happy hour! Inez R

Chef Ramsay would be insulted. Not going to write a lengthy review because all the 1-2 star reviews hit the nail on the head. I'll add as well that the place was empty and still had horrible service along with ok overpriced food. We literally had to yell to our waiter across an empty restaurant to get bread, wine, refill on drinks. 28 dollars for a "gourmet" dish that was small portion with no salad or soup being the extravagant price. If it had tasted "gourmet " the price would not have bothered me. The Capri salad had gritty no flavor tomatoes, the spaghetti was average and the pizza had hardly any Gorgonzola cheese on it...just tiny spots of it. Horrible first impression and just can't bring myself to give it a second chance. I can't afford a second chance either.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
