Came here for lunch after reading good review. At first thought it is only open for breakfast, but called and told is open from 5am to 2pm. It get busy during lunch, lucky we were there early. They have a special mexican meatball soup that alot of ppl ordered - abrandrilla(sp?). But by the time I order it was sold out. So got cheeseburger w chicken soup as a side. Wow the soup was big n definitately home cook..very good. Waitress and a lady sat next table said I should try it with lime juice, I did and it was good - gave a kick to the taste. Then the cheeseburger came, its a good size as well, the cheese melt well and the burger sure has a nice fresh grill flavor. Everything came out to be less than $6. What a deal. I wish I know about it sooner and open for dinner as well. But I can understand why they dont open late due to the location. Will sure go back to try out the breakfast. Fyi, Breakfast & lunch serve all day!!

Our favorite breakfast place!

This is a great place for breakfast... The food is very delicious, the portions are plenty, and the prices are great!!! When you get here you have to know where you are going... It is a diner looking place that doesn't focus to much on looking pretty but they are clean, affordable, and have great tasting food... Big appetite? Get the Country Fried Steak breakfast... It's HUGE!!! Ever since I discovered this place I don't want to go anywhere else for breakfast... You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu...

It's ok I guess.

Wonderful local place for reasonably priced meals.

A lot of food! Very good tasting. Excellent service. They really hustle!! We sat at the counter and watched a soap opera and the cooks. The fare was a little bit heavy for my palate but, it can be your major meal for the day. Reasonably priced.

Absolutely delicious! Good service, good variety of Mexican and American home cooking. Will be back tomorrow!

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner...it's all good. Great menu, great service. Just one of those home style go to restaurants that makes you glad they're there. Super busy on Saturday morning, kind of long food wait, but well worth it. Groupon deal also available right now.

Wow! If you're in the Tucson area DO NOT LEAVE without eating here. The service is phenomenal and the food is awesome!

Found this place via Yelp. As always, good recommendation. Food was good (I had breakfast), pancakes were very filling and light. The server was wonderful! Never wanted for any refills, etc. Definitely will return here. It's a diner so don't expect "fancy." Expect good breakfast food and sandwiches and quick service.

Although the service was great and prices were cheap, the food was really disappointing. After seeing many of the positive reviews for Jerry Bob's, I was hoping to be proved wrong about my general dissatisfaction with diner food. The food is generally cheap and the server who helped me was friendly and welcoming. They have a good mix of American and Mexican food options. However, what I ordered left me disappointed. Here is what I ordered: Eggs and chorizo: Besides the chorizo, the rest of the dish falls short. Chorizo, though salty, had a lot of rich spices and was cooked well. The eggs were cooked okay but it did not look like three scrambled eggs. Although the refried beans tasted okay, they were lukewarm which was made evident by the strands of cheese that failed to melt. As I mentioned earlier, the hostess was great. She was friendly and would come by to check on me regularly. There is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. Overall, if you are looking for a cheap bite, Jerry Bob's is an okay option, but do not expect to be blown away by the food.

Was visiting Tucson and I asked the guy at the car rental place at the airport for a good recommendation for breakfast near the airport. He said, I'd probably like Jerry Bob's. He was right! I did. You get plenty of food for the money. They have some really reasonable specials. I had two eggs, a tamale, fresh tortilla, salsa, and beans for $5.99. The quality of food was very good. I can't recommend the tamale though. Not so great. Not worth the calories. Had a funny taste to it. The flour tortilla was terrific, as were the beans and the salsa. Not sure if they make their own tortillas and salsa, but they seemed homemade. The place was packed with locals. They know a good place for breakfast or lunch when they find one. If you're near the Tucson airport, and want some breakfast or lunch. This is your place. It's easy to find, because it's right next to Denny's and across the street from the Waffle House.

As a culinary professional I was seriously disappointed in the service as well as the quality of my meal. I brought my family of 5 in for a late Sunday breakfast and was treated with so little respect I vow to NEVER eat there again. The waitress was the only shining light as she tried her best to make amends for my son finding hair in his food...the manager felt that replacing the side of beans where the hair was found and taking $1.02 off the bill was acceptable. I asked for the drinks to be comped and was look at and treated like I was trying to hold them up!!! I promise you I will never ever eat at this restaurant again...I wish I walked across the street and ate at Waffle House!!

Friendly service and great specials posted on the back wall for your ordering convenience. The least expensive meal I had in Tucson, and plenty filling while being tasty to boot. The eggs (over medium) were prefect and just enough hash browns to help soak up some yolk. The coffee was decent and replenished frequently. A quick decent meal on the way to or from the airport.

I've never in my life been treated so poorly by a waitress. This young lady was either going through the worst day of her life or has a giant case of the don't give a s#$&s. I think it is the latter. She was rude, lazy and uncaring. When we asked what the specials were she rattled them off and when we said we didn't catch what she said she scowled and didn't repeat it. When taking the order for our food she was impatient and appeared to be irritated. When I asked for strawberry jam she said if it wasn't on the table there wasn't any. I asked if there was some on another table and miraculously she found some. After paying I let her know that she'd been incredibly rude and all that she said was "OK". Seriously??? OK?? No apologies. Just OK. Worst service ever.

I've been eating here for years. Local favorite, fantastic food, huge portions, great service. The chicken fried steak and the soups are standouts. Thus place simply ROCKS.

Good food at great prices. You won't leave hungry for $12. They get busy and disorganized so your meal might come out on three plates and minutes apart. The omelets, chicken fried steak, tacos, soups and burritos are great. I highly recommend the red shredded beef burritos served enchilada (mojado) style. The tortilla soup on Mondays looks excellent in a giant bowl. Plenty of rare Sonoran Chiltepiños on hand to authentically fire it up. Pancakes are giant plate size so 2 is plenty but three is available. Again the food is great and the prices are good but the plates often look naked and boring like each part is an added side rather than a commonly offered plate.

Quick visit to see the family and found myself eating here all 3 days and I didn't mind in the least! Over the 3 days I had the BLT with avocado, the waffle and egg special and the huevos rancheros. My favorite was the huevos rancheros and it was the best I ever had. Beans and a delicious salsa smothered the corn tortillas and eggs. BLT was also very good. It fell a part when I ate it but it was good nonetheless. Waffle was also perfectly cooked. As for service, it was perfect the establishment and setting. This is the kind of place where they get you in and out and expect you to be ready to order (without 600 special requests or questions along he way) and appreciate it when you operate that way too. Service was great every time we were there. If you're looking for a fancy and leisurely breakfast spot then you're better off going to one of the hotels in the area for that experience. If you're looking for kgood portions, inexpensive and fresh tasting food then this is your place.

Taco salad very good also omelets are amazing. Prices are good and reasonable with big portions

Good food and service was great. Portions are a good size and everything we ordered was really good. They do get really busy but it's because they're well known. I will definitely go back.

Great loaded omelettes: ordered ham and cheese and the florentine, cheesiest and huge. the freshest fruit salad prepared when ordered.

Poor customer service. Place phone order thy tell me 30 minutes 50 minutes later I have my order incomplete. :( They are not only unable to honor the time frame they set they take longer and give me an incomplete order. I repeated twice 3 orders of Waffles with strawberries because that's all I really came for. I get 1 order. They ask me to sit on a stool next to the register as if I was in trouble and in the 3 Rd grade in the 1960's. Might as well have offered me a dunce hat for fuggin ordering food from this Busch league restaurant. Let me just say food was good even if it was cold from me waiting almost 15 extra minutes to make my 3 minute waffles. Buncha malarky! Oh to top it off the lady who took my order asked me why I was still waiting. I explained the her the person who took my order messed it up and only placed an order for 1 waffle instead of 3 . She so combatively responded " I only heard you say 1". I replied , "I said it twice" and she rolled her eyes and walked away. The girl upfront charged me full price for the 2 other waffles because "hey this guy's family likes cold food and waiting". I pay I don't make a scene not a manager in site. I got an "I'm sorry "from the girl at the register even though she had no part in this. I guess Jerry Bob's see no problem in the lack of empathy and poor quality assurance for their business / brand. Guess what Jerry Bob Waffle House is across the street and does everything you can't do and they do it better with a smile.

This is a no brainer for breakfast. Excellent!!!
(4)Anna B.
This is a great local spot for a reasonably priced and tasty breakfast. Service was slow due to the large Sunday crowd. Great mexican breakfast offerings (tamales, menudo, etc...). Be prepared for slow service during busy times.
(4)Jean F.
Ordered the veggie omelette with fruit. Best omelette I have ever had and the portions were huge. I could only eat half. Also want to note that the side of fruit was huge and FRESH. All hand cut fresh fruit. These people take pride in their food. So many restaurants are mediocre with food and service- not this restaurant!!
(5)Jim P.
Not sure why this place is this so popular but the prices are cheap. Chorizo and eggs incinerated Poached eggs hard boiled. We won't be back. But it is cheap.

When traveling I make a serious effort to avoid franchise food. Often Yelp provides good insight to a family owned or similar type atmosphere. Today at the hotel my wife overheard Jerry Bob's mentioned, along with three franchise restuarants. Feeling adventureous, we didn't Yelp it. "Let's just go." We were NOT dissapointed! Great breakfast! Quantity, quality and service were excellent! Just the kind of place I love to stumble across. :)

Great place, friendly staff and really enjoyed the food. The Chorizo was great, nice and spicy. Coffee was great and always full. Will for revisit any time.
