Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

This place has amazing food and great service. The waiter helped suggest food and was always there to refill drinks and get condiments. By far the best tasting Chinese food I've had in Tucson.

Customer service was not that great. The food was horrible. I guess it was not my cup of tea.

As usual, the food was fantastic. The taste was great and so fresh. Also, the new Server was very friendly as well. Stop by and get some Won Ton Soup and a plate of food. Enjoy.

Called in for take out, ordered the Sesame Chicken and House Lo Mein. Ready in ten minutes... It was very hot and the portions were quite generous. The Sesame Chicken was (sad to say it) soggy, but to be fair it was a good 20 minutes before I actually sat down to enjoy it. The flavor was a-ok, but not anything more than that. The House Lo Mein was very good and satisfied my big thick noodle craving! Though, next time I think I will stick with the Veggie Lo Mein. Overall, I will be returning for round two... Hopefully I will have the time to eat there, have a fresh meal, and a higher experience.

This place of your traditional old school Americanized version of Chinese food complete with your Chinese zodiac paper placement and Chinese mural on the wall. I found our server to be very attentive and baby friendly. I was pinning him as the owner, as I was getting a family run vibe. Noteworthy were the Pepto Bismol ® pink walls. And I'm pretty sure I've never dined at a Chinese place with Kesha and Nicki Minaj jamming. Luckily there were no infamous pop music wardrobe malfunctions complete with nip slips. One portion was large enough to fill two adults. The sesame chicken was served on top of some fried rice sticks, which I am a fan of. However, there was a lot of sauce on the bottom which quickly made them soggy. But if you are a fan of the sauce, it is nice for your steamed rice. We also split a large wonton soup. The only vegetable in the soup was scallion, but it did have some thinly sliced pork afloat- not that pork is a vegetable. The egg rolls are what I call spring rolls, but I am from the Midwest and in desperate need of a beansprout filled eggroll with a nice bubbly crispy overstuffed skin. They were served with a sweet and sour sauce that was red in color and a squeeze bottle of hot mustard. I did not ask if they had plum sauce. Which was probably a good thing, as I could drink plum sauce. Speaking of, did you see that Goldberg's where the family tried out the local Chinese restaurant? Well, Murray, the dad, was drinking the plum sauce and proclaimed "this tea is delicious"! I related.

Best Chinese food on the East side!! Went for early dinner, light traffic so service was outstanding. It was our second time back after years of not going there because of bad experiences and uncleanliness. The place has changed for the better and the food very good. Hot, large portions, good prices and very tasty. No complaints at all. Kudos to the chef.

The best Chinese food I've ever had! Fast and polite service, best wonton soup IN THE WORLD and I haven't had an entree that I didn't like here! 100% recommended

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant by far. Their food is amazing and always tastes fresh. The staff is always super nice too. Definitely recommend this place!

It was my first time at Great Village. The Hot and Sour soup was tasty and the egg rolls weren't bad. It seemed like a nice little neighborhood Chinese restaurant. I ordered the Eight Jewel Blossom, which sounds delicious. And it is tasty. But the shrimp were shrimpy -- not good shrimpy. Bad shrimpy. Part of the tails weren't really trimmed and so had a weird crunch. And didn't taste terribly fresh. The rest of the flavor was pretty good, though. I'd give them a second try but I would order away from the shrimp.

Haven't had a bad meal here yet. Service is great, and all of the entrees that I have tried are fabulous ( Beijing beef is my favorite). Great hot and sour soup, I'd say the best I've had in Tucson. The restaurant is small enough where they remember my name, but they are still fast and efficient with orders. Whether it be take out or dine in the staff is on point!

The food is really good and I was very pleased with my meal. The service was good but could have been a little better. Our waiter kept reaching over our meals to switch out the sugar containers, etc. (which we weren't using and were already full). Then I grabbed the mustard bottle to move it and it was sticky which grossed me out for a second. It was also a little warm in the restaurant, use of the AC would have made this meal more comfortable.

Went there on a Monday for lunch. Perhaps those who cook the dinners are better chefs. The waitresses were nice. We had the lunch specials, Mongolian beef and chicken lo mein. Both dishes were pretty tasteless. The only spice in the Mongolian beef was the red pepper they added for heat. The hot and sour soup had large pieces of dried hot red pepper in it which got stuck in my throat. The servings were large. The restaurant showing it's age. And the menus could really use to be wiped with a clean cloth. I've had better Chinese food at some of the Chinese buffets around town.

My family and I have been eating here for over a decade. The food is always fresh and the lunch specials are decently priced and come with the best egg drop soup that I've ever had and a generous helping of rice. I have probably eaten here 30 times and I've always had a positive experience.

This has been our family's favorite and only Chinese restaurant for years. When our kids come home to visit we always set aside a night for Chinese. Very polite staff, family that has run this restaurant for years. Prices are very good, especially if you can get there early enough for lunch.

Best Chinese food in the area. This is a must try. Small family owned operation. I had their sizzling seafood and it was healthy and delicious.

I wasn't impressed enough to go back. With so many generic Chinese food options in Tucson I'd rather spend time trying out new ones that going back to one that I found difficult to finish my meal. Food didn't seem fresh and my meal should have been called crusty pieces of breading instead of sesame chicken. The flavor wasn't even appealing. Not spicy and more blah than ahh. Movin on!

Authentic is the 1st word that comes to mind. When my fiance and I walked in we felt the hospitality from the owner. He himself seated us at a booth and our waitress arrived moments later. The crimson colored napkins were folded in a decorative design placed upon your dinner plate. Your food is served very quickly once ordered which I love fast sit down food. Broccoli and Beef served with steamed rice and my fiance ordered sesame chicken with fried rice. There is a language barrier but that's what I love about this place, if you have been trained in life to understand all types of accents it's a breeze. *menu spoiler* There are no free refills on soda, only iced tea and water. The portions are huge and priced around 7-8 dollars which is a steal so sharing is recommended. I was pleased with the service and food. I found it quite funny going up to the register to pay for my meal.. the guy whom is of Asian decent was taking down a phone order with an accent but then when he hung up his accent changed into a deep Americanized voice and asked how everything was I couldn't help but laugh because it was completely unexpected.

Great food! But why oh why do they charge dor refills on soda and not on Iced tea? I love my diet soda when I am out to lunch but to be charged a buck for each refill seems strange... oh well at least I have cold mu shu to heal my soul.

So, I had heard this place was good, as Chinese places go, and some friends say they frequent or their family does. So my daughter and I decided to try this place to add to our list of haunts. We go to dinner multiple times per week. We were greeted and seated as it was quite dead. Our drinks were brought and the ice tea was nice as was the hot oolong. She had the bean curd with Chinese mushroom. The brown sauce was over salty but savory and did not seem to be to much goo. I had the orange chicken, Pretty sure it was just this side of OJ concentrate mixed with corn syrup, a big pile of goo. Further the chicken was something from a bag frozen pre breaded and was over cooked to texture of leather. I actually had to add salt to orange chicken in an attempt at improving flavor. As for the service, well. I had slid my place setting toward the wall as I don't like them in my face reading a menu or obstructing conversation with co diner. when the food arrived, suspiciously fast, the waiter actually reached past my face rudely sliding my setting in my face. As diner progressed the staff was mopping practically asking us to lift our feet within the booth, with very smelly cleaning compound in the dinning area. An obvious attempt to be able to close ASAP. I've had worse but I am willing to say that the service and food is better at Panda Express.

I've eaten here twice and both times the food has been bland. Everything is covered in a thick flavorless sauce. I really wanted to like this place, its the closest chinese food on my side of town.

Awesome environment and friendly staff. Had their house fried rice and bbq duck and to me the best fried rice in town. Will definately be coming back
(5)Joyce C.
Had to steal a star away after both my husband and I suffered serious indigestion. Every time we've eaten here we've wondered aloud how they get the food out -- no matter what you order -- so quickly. Now I don't want to think about it for a while.

A Tucson institution for 22 years. You don't last that long without serving great food and they deliver (not literally). The guy working the front sometimes plays guitar which is a nice treat.

This is a great place for lunch because they have decent food, large portions, and many lunch specials for $4. I have been turned into somewhat of a Chinese food snob, so I have to mention if you are also this way don't expect anything amazing. But it's cheap for lunch and decent if your friends don't know the difference.
