Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Found this place while visiting tucson. Amazing pizza, Feels like you're in italy. and they have a cool sound system.

Hands down the best kale salad in Tucson! The pizzas are incredible too, but the kale salad is so delicious that I get it every time. It has sun dried tomatoes, kalamata olives, artichoke hearts, and a dressing that tastes like it has cashews and tepenade. The patio is lovely at night, even right on Broadway with all the traffic. The staff are super friendly.

Great pizzas, subtle and fresh tasting. Different than many of the upper end pizza places in town. I'd put it right up there with Scordato's and Reilly's. Simple vibe, we want to go back when it's warmer so we can sit on the patio. Also, love the little owl of olives that was on the table and the wood stack along the back wall.

Never thought that I would find a truly authentic Napoleon pizza in Arizona. Came here for dinner with some friends while visiting for a weekend. My husband and I are huge Italian pizza fans and have found nothing in the west that competes with NYC, until now. Ari makes an amazing pie using the freshest ingredients from the flour that he imports to the kosher sausage. Every dish we had was phenomenal. We weren't satisfied with one dinner, so we came back for a second time during our short visit. Here's what we ate: started with the caprese and piastra then moved to the margherita, carni and figaro pizzas which we enjoyed with a Caesar salad. I'm thoroughly disappointed that we don't have Falora in the Bay Area of California. Hopefully one day he will open one in our neck of the woods.

Delicious authentic italian pizza. I also love that they have a non-pork option on their pizza (spicy kosher beef sausage) which is rare to find. We are visiting from out of town and our party was amazed at the quality. The caprese was fresh and delicious especially with the olive tapenade. The giardana, carni, figaro and magharita pizza (although a little watery) had lots of flavor. You can taste the freshness of the dough and perfect pillowly yet crisp crust! Great selection of drinks (non alcoholic), we did not expect to find good food and ambiance in Tucson...boy were we wrong! Took a star off for the slow service...there was one waitress taking orders for almost the entire restaurant and it took awhile.

I saw this place just down the street from the dog park and wanted to try it. I love to try a new pizza place. First impressions were great. The place is very nice with a really relaxed and casual atmosphere. They are also dog friendly and let me have my dog with me out on the patio, so bonus points there. I really enjoyed the setting and the staff was friendly. I ordered the Margherita pizza, as I always do when trying new pizza. It was real tasty. I will say I love the crust at this place, soft and flavorful but not overpowering to the pizza as a whole. I did think the sauce was watery but did have good flavor. Biggest complaint is that they cooked the basil with the pizza instead of adding it after so it was wilted, mushy and not as flavorful as fresh basil. Overall a good experience and I will probably be back to try a different pie sometime.

Really good pizza at a fairly steep price, especially for the portion sizes. We split the Figaro (brie, brussel sprouts, walnuts, figs, olive oil, balsamic) and the Fumo (smoked salmon, chevre, cherry tomato, capers, red onion, olive oil) and both were stellar. This place is yuppie as fuck, but it's worth dealing with to try some dope pizza. I don't think I'll return because of the price, but I would definitely recommend you try it if you can.

Great pizza, cool restaurant, and a good weeknight takeout. I've eaten at Falora as many times as I've taken out, and I am always happy. The experience in the restaurant is relaxed, so be prepared to spend some time there. Enjoy a cocktail and appetizer or salad while your pizza is prepared. Falora is one of my go-to meal savers. My wife and I often split a pizza and salad, which is perfect for 2. Make sure to ask what the special salad and pizza are! You can also add meat to any pizza, which is great for meat-lovers.

Were in town for the Gem and Jewelry show, we haven't been to the show for a couple of years so for the first time we decided to take the kids. My son is into fossils and minerals so this is the perfect place for him. We only had breakfast and all day we went to different shows till 6:00pm. We were famished and my kids wanted pizza (of course). I did a quick Yelp search and this place came up. It was a great little place, very clean, great customer service and they have long tables and you sit with people to your immediate left or right. I liked it, I was able to meet a couple who loves Hawaii as much as we do. They also had tables for 4 or less. I started my night with the Amber Ale, it was a nice crisp beer. We started with the Caprese Salad, it was wonderful. Big slices of mozzarella and tomatoes with lots of shredded basil with balsamic vinaigrette and olive oil. The best part was the olive tapenade spread, it made the dish burst with flavor. Then we got the Kale Salad, My husband and I were not big fans of it. They use the regular shredded kale so it was hard to eat. This salad would have been so much better if they used baby kale. It has sun dried tomatoes so it gave the salad a nice chewy tart taste. I would get it again only if they served it with baby kale. We got the Margarita Pizza. The crust was crispy and thin with big slices of mozzarella, tomatoes and whole basil leaves. The sauce tasted like just plain tomato sauce so the shredded parmesan and red pepper flakes were my friend. For our kids, we got the Cura Pizza. it has large dry salami and whole pieces of roasted garlic that was so great. it was not strong, just perfect. again, I wish the tomato had some more flavor than just tomato. For dessert, we got the vanilla bean panacotta with blackberry purée. It was divine!! It was creamy and very light and I loved chewing the little vanilla beans. I should have just started my meal with this. Overall I would go back again and order the Caprese Salad and 3 Panacotta's :) :)

After a 14 hour drive to Tucson, Falora was the perfect stop. We sat on the patio and started off with a couple of glasses of wine. They offer a unique selection of nice wines so we were able to try something new. Then a Caesar followed by the pizza. We ordered the Cura, which had Italian salami, cheeses, olives, garlic and tomato. Amazing crust cooked to perfection in their wood burning oven. Perfect way to unwind over a great dining experience. If you haven't given Falora a try, do yourself a favor.
(5)Kevin E.
Super cozy and quaint. Would be a great spot for small parties or rehearsal dinners. Food is obviously very fresh as they are slicing and dicing right next to the dining area. Small menu including salads and pizzas but a variety of choices on the pizzas. Will absolutely come back!
(4)Marc A.
Wow I!!! This place has come to be a true diners paradise! We had a party of 30 and the service was perfect. If you want impeccable food, amazing service and a true pizza place get yourself down here. If you haven't you are missing out. Thanks Falora for the best night ever.
(5)Armando G.
Absolutely great experience! Fresh salad and delicious pizza!! Very inviting ambiance and friendly staff. Hands-on owner who is very hospitable. Every aspect was perfection!
(5)Maria G.
I like Falora. It is a very cute, very small, restaurant. I like the idea of farm-to-table pizza and salad. The local and Italian wine is a bonus. You can also order a beer, San Pellegrino, or a coffee drink. I think their water glasses and the glass bottles they serve water in are classy, but way too small. On my last visit I couldn't seem to get enough water. The salads are a little pricey but very good. The butter pecan salad ($9) is great, so fresh, and wonderful. I will order this salad again. I had the kale salad ($9) on a previous visit. It is a good salad, but too salty/strong because it has strong olives in it. I wouldn't order it again as a meal, but I would order it again if I was sharing it with two or three other people. I prefer eating at Falora on a weekday because there can be a long wait for pizza on the weekend. My last visit was on a Saturday night and we got our drinks and salads fast but our two pizzas took a very long time. The wood fired oven is great but slow. The server was good and he kept checking on us but it still took way too long to get our pizzas. I most recently had the Bené Bell pizza ($15) I would recommend it. It was creative and good. I love the atmosphere at Falora. The space is designed well. Call to make a reservation even if you are just two or four people. I have to stress again how small the dining area is. In the center of the space is a large community table. I had made a reservation for four people and we were sat at one end if the community table with a buffer seat between us and the next group. I think community tables are fine for coffee shops and I understand Falora used to serve coffee during the day. However, in a restaurant that is only open for dinner I believe the community table is too casual. The music played at Falora is played on a record player. It adds to the good atmosphere. Overall I recommend Falora. It is a great place to meet a friend for dinner. I think it would be a great place for a date. I do recommend going on a weekday, ordering wine, and sharing a salad and a pizza.
(4)Richa S.
Oh waiter, you are so sweet. You put up with bad jokes so well. You were very patient with my friends string of cheesy jokes (in an attempt to be witty). The pizza's are very tasty with fresh local ingredients. I love the ambiance of the place. I like how green olives are served instead of bread. The menu is simple and they dont overdo anything. Anything is a great selection of quality ingredients. We ordered the margherita and their special of the day which was a squash one. I'd say the squash was a bit hard to eat simply due to all the cilantro (still on their stems). The taste didnt lack- just a bit awkward to eat in public. This place is good. REAL good!
(5)Karen M.
My review would have been five stars, but they quit serving pizza at Sunday brunch. So at Sunday brunch you can get salads and bread... I was totally bummed. The cura pizza is my favorite pizza in the world and my mouth was watering thinking about those whole garlic cloves and kalamata olives and the soppresata. Ari, you have to start serving pizza at a pizza place! Even at Sunday brunch. All that being said, The salads here are exceptional and the pizzas are superb.
(4)Shannon E.
I love this place. The giardino pizza with a glass of Nero Pinot noir, listening to the eclectic vinyl music collection makes me very happy. We need more places like this!
(5)Jessica H.
I feel like every time I come back to Falora I'm more disappointed. That perfect crispy crust and adventurous toppings that we experienced the first time have fallen to a limp, floppy crust and seasonal offerings that haven't really impressed me. The mouth-feel of the crust was really it's selling point, but the last few times we've visited, it's just been mushy and floppy. The kind you have to eat with a fork. And that was with a number of their menu staples. Also -- and maybe this doesn't fit into the overall motif of the place -- they REALLY need a damn highchair. They have one booster seat currently. And while we were there, there were no fewer than three little girls dining (one of them being my own 11-month-old). Maybe it wasn't intended to be a place for young families, but young, hip families are coming. It's time to give them a place for their kids to sit at the community table too. All three families actually shared that booster seat, and we ended up eating with our daughter on our lap (because I think the booster seat was a little out of her league). It really led to a pain-in-the-ass dinner.
(3)Julia H.
I'm not a fan of the seating arrangement here but the salads and the pizzas are good. They have a pizza bar seating area, two long rectangular tables, and a couple 2-4 seater tables...so if you're there when the small tables are all taken up, you'll likely end up on the long rectangular table with some other strangers sitting next to you. Its not that I'm antisocial, it just doesn't give you much privacy to talk with the party you came with or you end up hearing the other party's conversation down to every detail. I'm not into that. I do love the atmosphere. Its dark, woody, intimate with a lit up sign that says OVEN instead of OPEN. :)

I finally got to eat here! It was early in the afternoon I had come with my hubby and my 10 month old twins and my big limo stroller. They happily accommodated us. Looking aft the menu it was pretty simple and I like that. I ordered the Frangelico from the first sip my mouth was in heaven! I never knew such a drink existed! Then I ordered the Caprese with homemade bread. For some reason I have had many Caprese and this one tasted so good! Could it have been maybe because I was out or the kids were behaving? No I really think it was really good! I then ordered that margarita pizza it was a little to wet for my taste but it was still good just the same. The best part was also the desert from Sugar bakery, it was a chocolate raspberry cake sooooo gOOD! I can't wait to come eat here again!
(5)Haley B.
Perfect atmosphere, environment-friendly, and excellent food! Definitely my favorite place for pizza.
(5)Mariah S.
My husband and I went her for our anniversary and had the Cesar salad and a pizza! My stomach is sensitive to gluten (well my whole body hates it) but they assured us that this flour from Italy was low in gluten and a lot of people with allergies or sensitivities aren't AS affected by it. So we took a gamble. The Cesar salad was very salty and we really didn't like it, couldn't finish it..although the pizza was lovely and we have heard some even getter things about their coffee & desserts! Can't wait to go back and try some more of their menu! Oh and the record player was playing sweet tunes all night it was just so cozy and romantic. Great atmosphere and lovely employees!

Falora is located in a brick-stoned plaza with other great venues such as Sessions Yoga and Sidecar. The interior is trendy and great for meet-ups or dates with a medley of private and communal tables. They have ample outdoor seating as well. I started off with an "aperitif," which I'll be honest I had to look up on google. Mine was essentially a shot of limoncello which was a bit too strong for me, but they did have perrier which I added in and made a refreshing drink. (They otherwise serve beer and wine only, no actual cocktails) We had the Butter Pecan salad as well as the Pesto pizza which both tasted like they were made with crisp and fresh ingredients. Plenty of vegetarian options. They provide Etch-A-Sketches for kids, which of course I asked for despite being not in the right age group. There other thing is they'll play your record if you bring it! Service was great. Will definitely be back.
(5)Kamryn C.
Good pizza and friendly service. You're given olives right after you order as a bit if an amuse. They have a very fairly priced wine list, and personally I love pizza and wine. The menu is basically pizza and salads, but they're done pretty well. I've had the kale salad, and it's probably my favorite thing on the menu. The dressing is wonderful, and the sundried tomatoes, artichokes, and olives add an extra boost of flavor. In fact, if you're into kale salads like I am, this is a must try, one of the best in town. The pizza is topped with quality ingredients, and is pretty tasty. I wouldn't say it's my favorite, but it's definitely satisfying. All in all, a great place for dinner if you want salad, pizza, and wine. And don't forget- get the kale salad.
(4)Rob W.
We enjoyed their salads and Pizza here very much. A salad and Pizza is plenty for 2 people so the pricing is great. The Pizzas are freshly cooked in the brick oven, and very tasty. The butter pecan salad is excellent.
(4)Crystal B.
This place was a great find! We had the pesto pizza and it was amazing. My husband and I sat outside and it was a relaxing atmosphere. The waitstaff was very friendly and the owner even came out and asked us how was our meal. We will definitely be back!
(5)Emily L.
We are really enjoying this restaurant. The pizzas and salads are original and delicious. The vibe in the restaurant is comfortable and intimate. I love how the owner is in the kitchen and dining area talking to patrons and spending time with everyone. It's bound to be a Tucson classic!
(5)Lindsay M.
We had dinner at Falora during a visit from Brooklyn, NY. We were really impressed, and that's difficult to do since we have amazing pizza all the time in NYC. I couldn't get enough of the kale salad, and I hate kale, so the dressing must have been magical. I loved the communal seating, which a lot of New York restaurants do. It's like being at a dinner party. If you're dining alone, you won't feel alone, you won't feel alone at Falora. The owner made sure we were enjoying our meal as well. Very special place.

Falora. Fah-lore-ah. It just rolls off the tongue so nicely. Like the name sounds, Falora is a super sexy pizza place. I was not surprised to learn that the owner of Sparkroot and Xoom juice had opened this place, with its affinity for simplicity and high quality local produce. I almost didn't find Falora, mistakenly thinking it was between Sushi Garden and Zocalo. It's actually on the OTHER side of Zocalo in the Broadway Village shopping center. The interior is beautiful. The far back wall is stacked ceiling-high with logs of firewood, which is both visually pleasing and utilitarian, as this same wood fires up the hand made brick pizza oven from Italy. Beauty + function = awesome. We were offered a short wait for a private table or we could be seated immediately at one of their community tables. I really loved this concept (and the tables themselves, as they are just gorgeous, with an elegant wood grain top). Soft jazz was being played on a record player. Apparently, you can bring your own records here and they will put them on for you. For reals. How adorable! To start, we ordered caprese. I've had a lot of caprese in my life, but none like this. Gorgeous red and green heirloom tomatoes were packed with flavor. The mozzarella was soft, but firm enough to stand up to the fleshiness of the tomato. Of course fresh basil, but as a twist: some lemon zest and a mound of olive tapenade in the middle. A truly beautiful take on a classic. Food arrives fast here. Moments after finishing our starter, the pizza came out, and it was a beauty. The Fumo, masterfully topped with creamy chevre, tender cherry tomatoes, smoked salmon, roasted red onions, and capers. I thought I hated capers before eating here. The crust, perfectly charred here and there from the brick oven and drizzled in just a taste of olive oil. Yes, this is sexy pizza. Our servers were so friendly, as was the owner, Ari, who introduced himself to us. I am definitely coming back. This time I'm having wine with dinner and may even bring some records to share too.
(5)Alan H.
I've been a regular to Ari Shapiro's businesses since 2003. Without being obsequious - he may be Tucson's hardest working man. Try stopping him for more than a brief word. Xoom Juice was a huge part of college life. SparkRoot has become the spot in town to hang out and meet people while enjoying high-end coffee. I expect great things when I visit his pizza joint. Falora's pizza is excellent, some of the best I've had behind only Ken's Artisan (Portland, OR) Grimaldi's (Brooklyn, NY) and Pizzeria Bianco (Phoenix/Tucson, AZ). It's fun to read the menu and struggle to choose among many trendy options. The sides and desserts complement the main course well. Pricing is fair. Falora's intimate, marginal space gives the restaurant an obvious communal feel. All the trendy boxes have been checked, from cute chairs to a record player and the quintessential wood-fired oven. I'm thrilled there are no TVs. I just don't understand why in large cities like Dallas and Phoenix there's this rule that TVs have to be everywhere all the time. Great place.
(5)Cameron M.
I'd rate it higher but the menu choices were a little weird. The topping combinations they've invented are creative but not for everyone. With every pizza I found myself trying to decide what I'd need to remove to make it edible, I finally just settled on the magherita pizza to make it simple. The crust was amazing and so was the appetizer bread. Adding the $2 sausage option to the pizza was well worth it. I'll eat here again.
(4)Angela D.
My husband and I visited this place for the first time recently and enjoyed eating on the patio. All of the staff here was very friendly and attentive, maybe too attentive. Sometimes we were interrupted to ask how we were doing (which is great) only to be interrupted again less than a minute later by another employee asking the same question (a little annoying). However, I would rather have this than inventiveness, but balance is key. We shared the butter pecan salad and the pesto pizza. We were very happy with the flavor of the pizza but I was a little let down by the lack of pizzazz by a $9 salad. It didn't have any flavor that left me impressed. We will definitely return and I look forward to trying other salads on the menu.
(4)Elyse P.
I really enjoyed Falora. The venue is beautiful and the staff is friendly. We liked that they were playing records - and my husband has heard that if you bring in a record, they'll play it - cute. The food was tasty. I got the salmon pizza, sans capers. It was good - I wouldn't say amazing, though. I'll have to try something else next time.
(4)Nichole W.
Excellent pizza. Superb caprese. Great atmosphere. Amazing service, all the staff were so friendly and attentive.
(5)Ciera L.
Love this place! Very small and cute; absolutely love the atmosphere here! Their pizzas are delicious and Falora offers extremely unique combinations that are absolutely delicious! Their pizzas are made with a flour with very little gluten (yay). I have been here twice and have loved it both times, the customer service is truly awesome. The owner is very friendly and delivers great service to his patrons. I have sat at the bar both times which is nice, we enjoyed a glass of wine and split two different pizzas and watched them being made in the wood fired oven. Definitely hit this place, it is trendy and tasty.
(5)Jason C.
Just another pizza restaurant. Great location and super clean, but I have no idea why is the topping fall apart. It that how Italian piazza supposed to be? The topping is flying before I put it into my mouse.
(3)Fernando C.
Wow this place was awesome. The cura pizza was probably the best I've ever had with parm, soppressa, olives and whole wedges of garlic. The wines were fantastic and well priced. Great date night.
(5)Chelsea L.
The kale salad is amazing!!! So fresh so healthy paired with a great class of wine and if you are really hungry a pizza! The oven is something to see! This cute little pizzeria is on broadway and Country club. The patio is fantastic and the inside space a super cozy.
(5)Bleep S.
Yum! Wonderful kale salad. Very good Napoli style pizza...(thin crust....floppy.). Superb Italian wine by the glass. Fun servers. Walking distance from my house...a big plus.
(4)Nina P.
Such a cute pizza spot! I love the big windows and minimal decor. It's light, bright and airy, with a cute patio outside. I stopped by after a hard yoga class next door at Session Yoga and grabbed a table outside with my friend. We immediately got a cappuccino and a glass of the Chianti. If you need a caffeine kick, get the cappuccino it is good and strong! The Chianti was excellent as well. For our meals we got the Margarita pizza and the Bianca. I preferred the Bianca because it didn't have a red sauce, and I'm a cheese lover. But, my friend loves margarita pizza and she loved it. The pizzas are about 12" with thin and crispy dough, so they are big enough to share, or to have some leftovers to reheat later. As we were enjoying our meal, two other ladies from Session stopped by to see if they could grab a table. They had a buzzer from Sushi Garden and were tired of waiting. We recommended they give up their place in line at Sushi Garden and to eat at Falora instead. The hostess saw this interaction and thanked us with a coupon for $3 off our next pizza! That was so nice. I will definitely be back!
(4)Leah B.
FANTASTIC! I have been here a few times and everything has been exceptional: Food, service, drinks, prices, ambiance. I have sat on the patio everytime which is really cute, but as the weather heats up, next time I will sit inside. The meal starts with gratis olives, thanks! The chilled zucchini noodle salad with pesto was amazing, we opted to add fresh mozzarella, which was a clutch decision. The kale salad with kalamata olives, cashew oil dressing and sundried tomato is my absolute favorite. I never knew kale could taste this good. And finally for the pizzas; wow. We ordered the Copa (salami and olives). The crust was perfect. Great prices on wine/beer. Fantastic service. Fresh ingredients. No wonder they win awards :)
(5)Isabella J.
It's been over one year since I reviewed this spot, and an update is way overdue! I've officially tried over half the menu and I have so many favorites and a few new ones too. The Piastra salad is a must! Zucchini noodles with pesto, spinach and tomatoes. It's delicious and nutty and probably one of the best dishes in town. The kale salad is still one of my personal favorites. My go-to order is the kale salad, the Cura Pizza (Sopressata, olives, roasted garlic) and now the Piastra. The menu is super vegetarian friendly, but packs a punch with creative flavor combos and super fresh ingredients. Falora is one of my favorite spots in town- they've been cranking out fresh menu items, many with locally sources ingredients, and even a pizza that benefits Bens Bells, since they opened. It's clean and honest food. Plus, I adore the cozy atmosphere and the lovely team at Falora. I suggest you stop by Sidecar bar for a cocktail before or after a meal at Falora- it makes for a great night!
(5)Joe M.
The food was delicious, especially the pizza! The servers are very friendly and professional! This restaurant is a quiet place to have some wonderful food and a glass of wine!
(5)Mark S.
This is hard to explain. I love pizza (who doesn't?) and when I read the menu online I had it in my mind that I just wouldn't like this place because of the limited meat options. I have a special relationship with meat and any place that doesn't make it a star is not likely to be high on my list. BUT, in the interest of expanding my horizons, I really wanted to try it.... glad I did. My wife and I stopped in for lunch. The place was not packed and we were not greeted when we walked in so we assumed it was seat yourself, which we did. Almost immediately a server came over to us and asked us to move because they save tables for bigger groups. He directed us to a long communal table that had patrons at both ends already. I am not a fan of this format, so right away, this experience is going downhill. We order the only meat option (the Cura) and I am looking at the El Pato can with flowers on the table. Huh? Between this and the carafe of room temperature water served with no ice I am really starting to have my doubts about this place. Then came the pizza... the first bite begin to lift my mood. Each bite of the crust made from imported Caputo flour and topped with sauce made from San Marzano tomatoes, Kalamata olives, sopressata, whole garlic cloves, mozzarella and parmiggiano cheese and kissed with chili oil is toe curling. By the time we finished our pizza, I was back in a happy place (the Peroni I downed with our pizza could also have contributed). Short story long... go with a group so you get your own table; go for the hip atmosphere complete with a turntable and pile of vinyls to choose from; go for the bare brick walls with wood on display for the wood burning pizza oven; go for the pizza. Just go!

When the moon hits your eye, like a big pizza pie, that's amore! Ti amo Falora! I perused the menu online before I called to inquire about the Rana salad and pizza of the day and to place my order. Rana means frog in Italian. So why is there a rotating frog salad and pizza, you may ask... Ribbit! Why because ithey use local ingredients from Sleeping Frog Farm in Arizona. Talk about from farm to table! But what does Falora mean? It's an invented word! It sounds part like flora and kinda like flour...but to me it means a little taste of Napoli in Tucson. My order was ready in 10 short minutes because of the 800 degree imported wood burning brick pizza oven. It's bringing the heat to the desert. They even offered me water as I waited, nice touch. How do they get the crust so light and crisp? Why they use 00 flour, the creme de la creme of flours! The san marzano tomatos, which consists of a variety of plum tomatoes grown on volcanic plains and chefs world wide consider san marzano to be the best of the best. Do you see a theme here? The very best! My only beef (literally) is, the lack of meat options! Only one pizza has meat, so vegetarians this is your place! They even have a black Tuscan kale salad and black kale on a pizza. Just so you know, kale is the most popular veggie in the produce section right now. Kale is trending. Kale is cooler than cucumbers. I had the bianca, their only sauceless option, and the cura, the only meat option. Both were some HG (holy grail) level pies. No make your own, no substitutions. But they do have a massive vinyl collection or you can bring in your own! Be prepared to sit at a community table if you are there, as the dininng room is small and they do have seating rules. There is a nice little patio too. I liked the wall that holds the wood for the oven, the long wooden tables, the exposed brick and unfinished ceiling. They are going for a rustic look. But the real star is clearly the oven and the pizza.

We went back and tried it again. They must have listened to the reviews they were getting about great food but not much else. We went the other night after hearing they had done much for the service. I say the Salads we had (Caesar and Butter pecan) were perfect and so tasty. WE ordered 2 Margherita pizza and a Cura for the Seven of us. They were wonderful tasty and perfectly cooked. Even the 6yr old in the group was putting away a number of slices. They have a number of different beers these days - I had the Bells Amber and it was very good. the Service was great the waiter was just there enough and not too much. All in all a great dinner and I will go back sooner. All 7 of the people in our group enjoyed the dining experience. Glad I tried them again.

Best pizza ever! Service was awesome and management staff checked on us. We had a very large group off soccer players about 34 of us. They held the patio for us and treated us just like a party of two. Best pizza in Tucson don't pass this one up.

This is a great place and has a great atmosphere. They play albums and if you bring in your own albums they will play them also. The pizza is traditional oven baked Italian pizza and it is fantastic. You must get their Kale salad it is to die for. This is a great addition to Tucson.

I came here for a late night dinner. Their pizzas were really good with crispy on the outside crust. Highly recommend this place for good pizza!

I almost couldn't find this place but it is to the right of Zocalo, and it really is a hidden gem. Its subtle signage is an intentional choice of the ambiance of this place. A tucked away pizzeria that should change your views on what brick oven pizza is all about. We began with a Caprese from the Antipizza menu, and lord it was good. The restaurant itself is supplied by a small farm (Sleeping Frog Farm near Benson) and the ingredients are amazing. Using Heirloom fruits and vegetables for their meals makes this special and unique experience. Sitting at the "Farm" table I feel your less inclined to rudely pull out your cell phone and face book away your precious time with the friends you bring. Stay in the moment and appreciate the vinyl music, they will even play yours if you bring it. Keep it classy though, I'm not sure if they will play your Megadeath album. For dinner we indulge in the FUMO- a pizza with goat cheese, cherry tomatoes, capers, red onion and salmon. The combination was unique to me and so delicious. We met the owner Ari, who was very friendly. Nice to have a pizza joint that you are anxious to go back to. So park in the shopping center and find your way back to Falora. :D

My boyfriend and I had our first date and subsequently one year anniversary dinner here. I love the intimate atmosphere (make a reservation for a Friday or Saturday night!), the great service and the quality of the food. I appreciate there is a special pizza and a special salad daily, depending on what the chef wants to make. The wines on the menu you won't find anywhere and are reasonably priced (between $25-$50). It is nice that there is an outdoor patio too, for the beautiful spring, summer and fall nights in Tucson.

We stopped into Falora as an impromptu date night after having a drink at a nearby bar that just opened up called Sidecar (literally 10 steps away.. super convenient). We were welcome warmly by a nice host and seated inside. The restaurant had a open yet warm vibe upon entering. The menu was simple and straight forward. We decided with the butter pecan salad as a starter and the Cura pizza as our main entree paired with a couple of beers. We were not disappointed by the freshness, flavor and 'the right amount of funk' the cheeses lent to the dishes (the chevre goat cheese in the salad and the milder parmigiana and mozzarella on the pizza). I am also anti garlic (love the flavor, hates the way it makes me smell afterwards) but I COULD NOT stop myself from eating the wonderfully roasted whole cloves on the pizza. Simply delicious (and miraculously smelled fine afterwards.... WIN!) I was pleasantly surprised on this chance occurrence and will safely say we will dine here again with eagerness. Bon appetit!

I just adore this place and have nothing bad to say about the food or service! I personally enjoy the Bianco pizza with soppressata time and time again! I've also enjoyed the Kale salad as well!

Went twice within one week because I enjoyed it so much. The first time was a Friday evening. We got there fairly early and were told there was a 20 minute wait for inside seating. It was way too warm outside for me to eat hot pizza. The patio gets western exposure and it's pretty toasty without misters. So, we opted to go to Falora's, sister property, Sidecar and have a drink while we waited for a table! I really enjoyed everything about Falora, service, food, drink and atmosphere. They have a record player and invite you to bring your own records :) I had a delicious glass of Nero and we started with the Pistra, a zucchini "noodle" pesto starter mmmm - I really liked it. Between the two visits we tried the Arrosto and the Pesto pizzas. Both were delicious but the next visit - I'm going for the pesto again! The Arrosto is an unusual combination of potatoes, dates, feta and eggplant. I love sweet savory combinations and anything with dates is ok by me. This was quite tasty on our first visit so I had to order it again on our second visit in addition to the pesto. Ok, this is turning into foodie confessions .... Go, eat, drink and listen to some groovy music!

Tonight it took 1:45 to get our soggy pizza. We sat at the bar and watched the disorganized kitchen the entire time. The pizza guy only made one table/take-out order at a time. So if an order had only one pizza he only made one pizza despite the fact that the oven could hold at least four. He also didn't prep another pizza while one was in the oven. This made no sense. The kale salad had about 150% too much dressing, when the waitresses asked how it was I told her there was too much dressing and she walked away. Why bother asking? Then finally when the pizza came it was floppy and soggy to the point the toppings slid off and it you had to use a knife and fork to eat it. The staff was friendly aside from the salad incident, and the prices were reasonable but I won't return.
(2)Sally S.
We shared the Butter Pecan salad and Bianca Pizza. Just enough for a ladies lunch. Interesting and delish. Service was good. Atmosphere is right. Prices are reasonable. Where are all the people?

**As an UPDATE - This was a 1 star review but I did get a response from Ari, the owner, who offered to refund us for the meal which is greatly appreciated. Hopefully with some additional training, Falora staff will live up the the potential of the restaurant. Perhaps we will try again someday.** The only thing I can say about our Falora experience is what a disappointment! I wish it lived up to the great decor. My husband, 2 year old daughter and I stopped in for lunch today. When we walked in we were the only patrons and the two people standing in the open kitchen simply looked at us. I cautiously asked, "are you open?" The one I assume to be manager then said yes and we could sit anywhere. He brought us 2 waters and 2 napkins, ignoring our daughter completely. Once he came back we ordered 2 sandwich specials (a caprese style) described by the manager/server as mozzarella, spinach, tomato, olive oil and balsamic. I also ordered a cheese tray for our daughter's lunch. After 15 minutes of what appeared to be intense discussion in the kitchen by now 3 employees our $9 cheese tray (see photo) was brought out. Despite the jam - we were not given any silverware. Though, I guess since our only bread were those 5 breadsticks, jam was a strange condiment. Despite the fact that we were still the only customers at this point our sandwiches were not served. My husband waived down one of the cooks after another 10 minutes to ask for our check because we still had not been given our sandwiches and we were on a tight schedule. The manager/server then came over and said the sandwiches were almost ready and would be out soon. He asked if we would like them in to go boxes, which we agreed to. The sandwiches were brought out several minutes later and I decided to take a bite. While the ingredients were all tasty there was no balsamic. I debated saying anything but knew I needed to mention something about my overall disappointment. I went up to the counter and quietly told to the manager/server that there was no balsamic on the sandwich and that it was a bit odd to serve a cheese board and jam with no knife. His response was that they had just changed the sandwich on him - no apology - no offer to correct it. The girl chef behind the counter then apologized that we were not given silverware and offered to send us with some balsamic to go. Doesn't it seem like it should have been the manager/server who responded that way, not one of the chefs? I thanked her for the offer but just wanted to leave by that point and besides I have balsamic at home. We had already paid our $24 bill and despite my better judgement my husband even tipped a little bit. What was most upsetting? The pathetic cheeseboard? The sandwiches that were not what was promised? Typically I would say the terrible service from someone who appeared to be the manager... However, in this case, it would be the fact that my daughter was completely ignored and not deemed important enough to be served water or given a napkin.

Went here for my boyfriends birthday ANC everything was perfect! Perfect dim/romantic/urban atmosphere, fresh wood fire pizza, and the freshest Mojitos I've ever had! Double plus for having a pitcher of Mojitos! Not the cheapest, not the most expensive, and worth every penny. We got a pitcher of Mojitos, two pizzas, and bread for about $50...but we ended up taking enough pizza home to be a full one. (Half of each) : )

Falora pizza has gained a new set of fans! The husband and I got away for a date night and what a place to start the night off. Called for reservations and was quickly accommodated by a very friendly voice. When we arrived, we were promptly seated. The restaurant is sparse, yet tastefully decorated. The main attraction is the beautiful wood fired pizza oven. A few tables and a long community table (love the idea of community tables) fill the dining room. We started with the Pellegrino Mojito for Two. Classic mojito served along with a bottle of sparkling water (instead of a lemon-lime soda) to pour and adjust the flavor according to your taste. So light and refreshing. I will absolutely be making them this way at home now. If you like your mojitos sweet, this may not be your favorite. The Butter Pecan salad (butter lettuce, spinach, fennel, apples, Chèvre, pecans, and apricot vinaigrette) was a nice combinations of flavors and delicious. We decided on the Cura pizza (tomatoes, mozzarella, olives, soppressata and roasted garlic). Crust was thin with just the right amount char on it and had a nice chew to it. Still can't decide if it was the thinly sliced, crispy edged soppressata or the chunks of roasted garlic that made the pizza UH-MAZING. Service was very friendly and efficient. Always nice when the owner/manager (?) checks in to inquire how dinner is progressing. Can't wait for the next date night!!

Falora is one of our favorite places for pizza in Tucson. We appreciate the simplicity of the menu as this place knows what it does well. Of the appetizer, salads and pizzas, my favorite is the Cura with sopressata, garlic, tomatoes, mozzarella and parmigiana.. Great selection of wines, too. We enjoy sitting out on the patio and our well-behaved small dog has always been welcomed warmly! Ari, the owner, is frequently on hand to greet his guests and ask about dinner. We appreciate the friendly staff and excellent service. And, if you bring your own vinyl record, they'll play it on the house record player!
(5)Tara A.
Pizza and salad are amazing here! Ingredients always fresh, unique, and local. Pizza crust and bread are best I've ever had. The salads are handcrafted to be so healthy and tasty at the same time!! I can't get away from the Arrosto (eggplant, potato, feta, dates). So simple and delicious! Wood fired pizzas come out quickly and service is always pleasant!!
(5)D S.
Is there anything better in Tucson than this nationally recognized pizza? I think not. Kale salad phenomenal. Arrosto pizza to die for. Music always perfect. (They have an awesome record collection!)
(5)Tina M.
Love the concept here- and the food! Had a Peroni with my pizza napoli and I was on cloud nine.
(5)Ashley J.
fresh tasting food in a very comfortable environment!! I loved everything about this place. The Giradino pizza was amazing!! The sweet chili oil was the perfect amount of heat! The Butter Pecan salad was so tasty!!

So tasty! This was seriously one of the best pizzas I've ever had. I will most definitely go back.

My friend and I went running at Reid Park last night and found ourselves hungry for dinner afterward. Falora was in the neighborhood. I had been wanting to eat here for a while, as I'm a big Sparkroot fan and basically anywhere with kale salad is my jam. An employee was putting up chairs as we walked in (8:30 on a Friday night). She told us (very nicely!) that the kitchen closed at 9, but we were welcome to stay as long as we liked, and that we could sit either at the community table or at the bar. We opted for the bar. My friend really enjoyed the scenery, and that could include the wood pizza oven or the guy making the pizza. Ahem. Ambiance was very cute and charming, a small building with long communal tables and a small, efficient white bar with a direct view of the pizza oven. There was a small kitchen to the right. Right by the window there was a record player. A few people put records on. I LOVE me some vinyl so that was awesome and a reason alone to return. We got a glass of wine each and split a pizza and a kale salad. It wasn't easy convincing homegirl to get a kale salad--for some reason, to many, the word "kale" is appetite-repellent. I think that's because some places just don't know how to prepare kale. Kale is a very sensitive little vegetable; you must massage it and tell it how much you love it before you hack it into pieces and marinate it in dressing. Falora's version even had artichokes, olives, and sun-dried tomatoes. It was so delicious, even my friend enjoyed it! I also liked that it came out before the pizza, as we were very hungry. I'll probably stop in soon just for the kale salad. But it WAS a Friday night, so we also ordered a Marinara pizza. This is definitely not, like, the kind of pizza that you order when you're a hotel room in Las Cruces and trying to feed your starving family of 5 with on a budget. It's fancy pizza.... actually very simple pizza with choice ingredients. Our Marinara pie had tomato sauce, basil, and garlic. The garlic wasn't diced but was instead served in whole cloves. YUM. It was worth not getting any kisses from my man all night. The tomato sauce was divine. The crust was crispy and had a glorious hint of char, it was also soft and perfect and thin. I try not to eat pizza, but if I'm going to cave in, I think this a great place to do it! I was full, but definitely not like I'm-gonna-barf full when I left. For dessert, my friend got Lemoncello and I had Frangelico. I tasted hers, and it was really good. It was tart and lemony. My Frangelico was so yummy and sweet, a perfect substitute for dessert. Its hazelnut smell dominated the nose and blended with a more chocolate-y flavor for the aftertaste. I would definitely have one of those again. Service was friendly. It was a nice spot to just chill with a friend and share dinner and drinks. I bet it's good for lunch too. For four drinks, a large salad and a pizza, the $45 bill was also very reasonable. e Will go back.

This review is strictly for their vegan options. I had a vegan pizza and kale salad and both were very very good. The service is quick and friendly and they have amazing water. Eat here for sure.

Well, well , well.. They say 3rd times a charm , in this instance they are right. We really wanted a cappuccino after yoga so, we popped in again at Falora and were happily surprised . Great service , great drink & a spoon & sugar free sweetener ! Yay!

So I've been meaning to come try this place since it was recommended to me by multiple clients of mine. One of which is from Italy and said this is the closest to authentic Italian pizza in Tucson. I'm from NY so when I hear authentic good pizza, I'm there! They aren't open til late afternoon which sucks for me since I live in the north side and it's hard for me to come back to this side of town. We ordered the caprese and margherita pizza with iced chai tea. The other antipizza option was this zucchini noodle option which I wish I tried because the caprese was simply ok. It needed something like more balsamic vinegar or garlic? And maybe to be served with some bread would of been nice. The mozzarella and tomato was super fresh which I loved. Now the pizza...it is thin. Thinnest I've ever had(not sure if this is good or bad) and it did make it harder to pick up and eat. The sauce lacked the slight sweetness I'm use to. It was more sour and salty but after the initial first bite, it tasted pretty good together. Now the dough, oh man it is the best pizza dough I've ever had! Honestly, I could just eat the crust like breadsticks. I wish they had more meat items on the menu because it was unexpected for a pizza place. I also, should of checked the menu before I came but the only thing that had meat was a salmon with capers pizza that I was too intimidated to try, especially for my first Falora experience. All-in-all, I will come back for the pizza and maybe try a salad next time.

This a great place to go on a date or with a big group. They serve very traditional Italian pizza made with high quality ingredients. It also did not seem overpriced.
(5)Tara S.
I love wood-fired pizza paired with great wine and an Arizona sunset. You can have all that and more at Falora when you dine on their patio! The caprese salad is fresh and savory. The Giardino pizza is one of my favorites- an excellent combo of veggies, mozzarella and a thin crispy crust. The servers were friendly and accommodating and the service was excellent. -A place I will visit over and over!
(4)Gina M.
Such a great place! A friend and I were looking for a place to enjoy some wine and a quick bite after yoga and we picked Falora. When we first arrived hardly anyone was there but it filled up quickly. The staff were all very friendly and the service was great. We each got a glass of wine (great price and good pour!). We shared the kale salad and the piastra (zucchini noodles with pesto and tomato-we added mozzarella). Both portions were huge! And soooooo delicious. I will definitely being going back soon.

lovely and intimate space. the customer service is friendly and personal, the menu is delicious and unique. loved discovering this place

I really want to love everything in the Broadway village. It is a really convenient location and a stylish setting for this part of town. I am really excited that they added the sidecar bar to the center. It has a great neighborhood feel. The food at Falora and Sushi Garden is just average. Nothing wrong with it, but not a culinary masterpiece. My wife really likes the Kale Salad. I enjoyed it about as much as a dude can enjoy a Kale Salad, but it has a low ceiling. The pizza itself was good. We had the Cura. The ingredients on top were great quality.

This is a terrific new restaurant in Tucson and well worth checking out. The owner is the gentleman who started Xoom Juice, Tucson's only best smoothie stores, so you know you're in for something good. The restaurant doesn't disappoint. The pizzas are wonderful - super thin crust, made from a special Italian flour (which we learned was less gluten-y), great salads, and a really interesting and appealing decor. I don't agree with some of the criticisms here about decor; personally, we loved the vibe. Sure, it's a little pricey, but we found it well worth it and will definitely return. p.s. I am so glad to be able to say that somebody's trying to open a new local restaurant in Tucson. We need them, and if I have to see another mattress store open, I'll scream. Wait, AAAAUGH! (there's another one.)
(5)Veda D.
This is my brothers favorite restaurant in Tucson. They are very vegetarian friendly and serve great pizza fresh out of their wood burning stove. I like that they have a record player and if you bring your own vinyl they will play it on their record player! And if you walk or bike you get a discount! Score! It's small and cozy and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

My husband and I joined some friends here for dinner on a Friday night, just a couple of weeks after Falora had opened. We were totally amazed by the food and atmosphere and didn't have any issues with our food or service. What's great about the decor is that you can see the pizza oven and the kitchen staff at work, and you feel like you're sitting in someone's kitchen talking over wine. What lends itself to that feeling are the large common tables at which you can sit and enjoy your meal, or if you want a bit more privacy, there are some sweet tables with window seats to enjoy as well. Ari, the owner, came by to check on us a few times and ask how everything was: and it was fabulous. Try the Arrosto pizza: the figs and truffle oil make this pizza exceptional. We also had a salad (and unfortunately I can't remember the name), but apples and fennel were involved and I was really impressed. The food is delicious and the price points of the food are totally reasonable. It's a wonderful new place that I can't wait to return to and try more of their food!

The search for the best pizza in Tucson is over. Ever since eating the real thing in Naples, I have been on a cross country hunt for anything that comes close. Fälora's margherita with buffala mozzarella is as good as any I've had in New York City, and better by far than anything else I've had in Tucson. As an added bonus, the decor is gorgeous and modern, and the staff are total sweethearts. But even if none of that we're true, they would get five stars just for the pizza. If you, too, have been looking for the best pizza in Tucson, look no further. Fälora is the answer to your Tucson Pizza Prayers.

Great new midtown addition. With all of the city's attention (deservedly focused) on the emerging downtown restaurant scene, it's easy to miss some new stars that are not in the heart if downtown. Falora is a place to check out. In the very beautiful Joesler center at Broadway and Country Club, Ari Shapiro has brought a sophisticated but simple pizza and salad restaurant to town. Done in long, reclaimed wood tables...most are communal...it's a very nice space. The pizza oven blasts to 800 degrees and is gorgeous. Salads are fresh made and delicious. The butter pecan was satisfying and the Caesar was salty and crisp, complete with anchovies. Pizza, though, is the star. Don't miss the unique and delicious Bené Bell, a veggie offering inspired by Ben's Bells and with proceeds going directly to its mission. There is heavy emphasis on vegetarian pizzas, but the one meat option that we tried was hot, spicy and salty. Everything you want in a pizza. Bianca's is coming to town, but he will have to be on his game to draw me from Falora.

Falora's decor is modern, and it's awesome to see their brick-oven right when you walk in--apparently, it was shipped here from Italy. It's beautiful. The prices are reasonable. We were a group of five and we split three pizzas, caprese, and a salad--which, for us, amounted to enough food. With tip, I spent about $15. We tried the Pesto, the Marinara, and the Cura--my favorite was the Cura, the soppressata added a nice salty flavor to the mix. When ordering, figure two people per pizza, but if you are hungry or a big eater you can probably polish one off on your own. Falora claims to be a Neapolitan style pizza, so thin crust--which I actually prefer, being from Connecticut, that is the traditional pizza we had growing up. However, this did not hold a candle to the pizza in CT--I doubt any place in AZ really could beat Sally's, Peppe's, or Grand Apizza. The crust was thin enough, but a little bland--and one of our pizzas came somewhat burnt. What was most disappointing to me was the marinara pizza. A tomato pie is classic in the Neapolitan style, but Falora did not deliver as the sauce was runny and thin where I was expecting a thicker sauce with some diced tomatoes in the mix. There was also no grated cheese on the tables, which is a staple for most pizza places. There is also this weird musty smell that lingers in the place. My friends and I were playing "where is the smell coming from?" We concluded it might have been the wood that was on display or perhaps the carpeted window seat we were near. I think I am just ruined forever when it comes to expectations in regards to pizza. Growing up in CT an Italian-American has made me a pizza snob. I'm sure most would really like Falora, but I thought it was just ok.

On the verge of five stars..... Last night was our first visit to Falora, and it will not be our last. My fiancé and I shared a Cheese Board, Butter Pecan Salad and Pesto Pizza. In all honesty, the only thing that brought my review down to four stars was the cheese board. My fiancé is French so maybe our expectations for a cheese board are high. We received two hard cheeses, dried apricots, toasted pecans and bread sticks. We would have loved a third cheese (maybe a good Roquefort or Brie) and a small boule of bread. The hard cheeses were good, just would have liked a third type even if that meant the price went up a few $$ on this item. The Butter Pecan Salad was fab! The dressing was light, lettuce and fennel fresh and the goat's cheese, amazing. The goat's cheese was soft and flavorful without being tart. The Pesto Pizza was heavenly. I'm pretty sure the pesto was house made. A perfect balance of all the flavors, to me nothing is worse than overly garlic pesto. The crust was chewy yet with the perfect crispness. I truly can not wait to go back and try more flavors of pizza. We both liked the ambiance of the place. The service was very good. The music kitschy cool. One last caveat..... I am very sensitive to salt and the food here is not salty! Just fresh and flavorful. What a great addition to the Tucson restaurant scene! Bravo!

A nice little gem of a pizzeria packed with pizzaz and a bit of the avant-garde. Went there yesterday on the early side of a Saturday evening. Because the Cats were playing in the Sweet Sixteen it was fairly quiet. Better for us to enjoy the piped in jazzy music. The seating is rather small inside albeit there is large lovely patio outside. Opted for inside this time. Inside just one or two small tables for 2 or 4 people. But a couple of large community tables that seat a lot of people. Luckily we sat at the end of one of the community tables and we were the only ones sitting there. Not that I'm not friendly, but I do prefer a regular table. The service was polite and efficient. The menu is basically Pizza and Salads. These types of restaurants are sprouting up like weeds all over town. There are 10 pizzas on the menu with all sorts of very different toppings. We chose the Cura with san marzano tomato, mozzarella, parmigiano, soppresata, olives, and big chunks of garlic. Very tasty. Also the Arosto with Feta, eggplant, purple potatoes, dates, and truffle oil. A bit of a strange combo but it did work. Also tasty. They have 4 different salads also each one with very distinct ingredients. We had the Butter Pecan with butter lettuce, spinach, apples, fennel, chèvre and toasted pecans. It was shared by 3 of us. I could have eaten a bit more of this wonderful combo. The owner, I believe is Ari Shapiro who was attentive to all the customers by coming over personally to see we were all happy diners. By the time we left the patio was filled with folks. I believe he is the owner of a few eating places in town. We are all grateful for the innovative restaurants popping up making Tucson a good eating mecca for all to enjoy!!!

I love the concept, interior, and setup. I like the food. I do not like, however, the service. I dined at Falora twice in one week-first for lunch and the second time for dinner. The first time was a great experience; I thought the pizza was solid and the salads were very good. On this visit service was very good. I returned a few days later for dinner and brought some friends after I spoke so highly of my first visit. Mistake. Our service was HORRIBLE. I wish we got her name. Little blonde server, you ruined my night. Her attitude made it hard to enjoy my meal. The food was good, not great, but good. I would rate the food a solid 3 but the service was a 4 for the first time and a -10 the second. I don't know if I will ever return.
(2)Melissa J.
I love this new fancy pizza spot. To start with the ambiance is great. The tables and all the woodwork inside is absolutely beautiful. The community tables are pretty cool but I also love the table that can seat six by the window where you can sit in the window seat. Totally fun. I've been here twice now and both times the food was great. The first time I went with 5 people and we got 3 pizzas and 2 salads. Probably a little overkill, but none of us went hungry! The second time I went with 4 people and we got 2 pizzas and 1 salad and it was perfect. I'm totally loving both the Arrosto and the Cura pizzas. The Arrosto is amazing with really unique flavors probably brought on by the truffle oil. As far as salads I love both the Butter Pecan which has these big tasty apple slices and the Kale which includes kalamata olives and artichoke hearts, always favorites. The service the first time wasn't terrible but it certainly wasn't seamless. The second time about a week and a half later they'd clearly gotten it together. They got us drinks right away, anything on the menu that they didn't currently have they stated as they handed us the menus (nicely) so that we didn't have that in mind to order only to find out we couldn't later. The owner is so nice. Both times we've been there he's been going around checking on tables and asking about food. He was walking down the sidewalk as we were walking in this time so he walked us in and helped us find a place to sit. He clearly really wants to make this place great and I'm happy to return to it again and again.

The important few things you need to know: the pizza was four star, but the price (and a few other things) knock off a star. Considering all the other choices we have for pizza in this town, I can't justify going back here until the price drops by $4 to $5 per pizza. So now some interesting details. The place is a collection of some contradictions: the price and subtle ambiance say "Gourmet wine and pizza restaurant," but the fact is, the first thing you see is a rather raw, garish metal bar fronting the pizza kitchen, which gives me the sense of a fast food, by the slice joint. Then there's the fact that the layout, lighting (too bright), and huge group tables make the place feel even more like a fast food joint. The pricing (too high) and the wine selection (decent) are incongruous in this setting. The pizza: decent, to great Napolitan influenced pizza. Not excellent. Not amazing. Importing a brick oven is neat, but does not cause a perfect pizza. The place was comfortable and the staff friendly. Despite the menu saying that they don't want to do exchanges on pizzas they let us get a kale pizza without anchovy.
(3)Christopher R.
Honestly I was disgusted by food and service First off a little back story, I live in the neighborhood and always love to try new local places. Pizza is one of my favorite foods and so I was eager to try out Falora. When we arrived, there were five people In the restaurant. We were seated by a very nice waitress. Everything was going well until my salad came. The waitress informed me that I could not get it with dressing on the side because it was pre mixed(YUCK). The croutons tasted like gummy bears, they were so stale. Next came the pizza. I ordered a pizza that said it had mozzarella on it. When the pizza came, it had no cheese on it, no oil, no salt, no nothing. Just crust and vegetables. I am nota big salt person but it really could have helped. When I asked the surly waiter/manager about the cheese, he responded by saying, oh we put very light cheese and proceeded to dissect my pizza. He then pointed to a piece of wet dough and said "there is it." I was really disappointed and upset that I had to pay 14 dollars for this pizza that wasn't completed. Hope that they can improve for others sake.

When you walk in to this restaurant, there's a whole wall of wood for the wood-burning oven they imported from Italy. Cool. We were seated on the window seat, with a little sign reserving our table for six. A few people in our party noticed a musty smell in the restaurant, but maybe that was coming from the window seat cushion? Service was friendly and kind about splitting our bill. We liked the caprese and butter pecan salad. Pizza was just okay, however. The Pesto was the standout, while the Marinara was meh and the Cura was a little burnt (everyone had to break off a few pieces of blackened crust). The crust had a nice chew. Their dessert menu is tiny (just panna cotta and biscotti), and no diet sodas were available (only Mexican Coke). One pizza and one salad was recommended for two people here, so we ended up doing two salads and three pizzas for a group of five. A few of us walked out hungry, though, so I might suggest ordering a little more for a crowd that can eat, especially because pizzas take so long to come out so ordering more isn't always an option. This was a great excuse to go out for gelato afterwards, though!

The best kale salad in the city...great mellow ambiance, great service...and fabulous wine!

I'm giving this five stars. It's a notch below Pizzeria Bianco in terms of taste and a notch above my favorite high end pizza place in Cincinnati (A Tavola). The crust was absolutely incredible! Two friends sent me a text telling me to meet them here while I was in Tucson on a weekend vacation. I was not expecting to be blown away, but I was absolutely blown away. My favorite part of pizza is when I get to the crust and this restaurant absolutely delivered. When I'm in Tucson I tell my friend to take me to Grimaldi's but after eating here I'm going to ask for Falora instead from now on. Great restaurant, great service. I only wish that this restaurant was around back when I lived in Tucson.

I'm giving Falora an updated rating and review. My original write-up of our (1-star) experience was enough to get the attention of the owner, Ari, who wrote me personally to apologize. He explained, in detail, the events that lead up to our experience that night, and--suffice it to say--Falora has had an incredibly rough opening week. Again, having worked in the industry, I definitely understand the situation. I get the impression that these past two weeks have been a bit of a learning curve, but the learning is happening, which is a good thing! After reading my critique, Ari invited my friends and I to come back and have dinner on him, which I thought was very generous and humble. He knows that he's got some kinks to work out, but he IS paying attention to his customers when they tell him that things aren't up to par. Some people don't care about feedback, but he clearly does. I know that I said in my review that I wouldn't return, but anyone who is gracious enough to reach out to his customers and ask for a second chance deserves just that. We're looking forward to coming back within the next couple of weeks, and I'll be sure to update my rating again. This time, I'll be able to base it on the food and drinks at the restaurant, instead of just walking through the front door!

Food, price, and service are all excellent. Had the margherita pizza and butter pecan salad, both were very flavorful and made well. The salad's portion size was bigger than I've seen at most restaurants for a great price. Our sever was awesome and made great recommendations. Will definitely be back, one of the best tasting, well priced, and friendly places I've been to in Tucson!

I was really excited to come here, but the excitement ended when were were seated at a group style table with strangers (two couples on each side, and one poor couple on a first date). Only to be moved after we received our drinks. It was annoying because they just said we need to move you to seat a larger party, not sorry to interrupt, not empathy, just we need to move you. The poor couple on their date was thrown for a loop, but at least it gave them a topic of conversation. We were then moved to a small table which sat two. My girlfriend and I had enough room for our pizza, the small plate of olives and our two drinks on the table. It was slightly uncomfortable but the pizza was great. I loved that you can order small bottles of champagne which keeps things interesting. I enjoyed the menu selection and ordered the garlic and pepperoni pizza, def not for the faint of heart, but it was delicious. It was neat to watch them make the pizza and to smell all the delicious pizza that were being made, but the wait for the food was disappointing. We waiting over an hour for two pizzas and the place wasn't even packed. I am hoping that the next visit goes smoother, if not, there is plenty of pie around two to keep my cravings at bay.

This pizza restaurant is a great addition to Tucson's food scene. My great aunt, father, mother, and I went here for dinner. I ordered the Margherita Pizza and it was fantastic... savory and you could tell that the ingredients were fresh... the crust especially is amazing. I enjoyed the relaxed ambiance. Apparently you can bring in your own vinyl records and they'll play them. I'll have to remember that next time! The highlight of the experience was when the owner came by our table. It was a pleasure speaking with him and learning about the special pizza oven that he imported from Italy. Falora is a really special place, and I am already looking forward to going back. You should definitely try it out.

Excellent kale salad! The pizza is also very very good. Highly recommend stopping at Falora for lunch!

Went this afternoon and was greeted when we walked in. We sat at the community table. It wasn't busy. They brought us water when we sat down but it was lukewarm and no ice, that was a turnoff. We ordered the Caesar salad, Cura and Margherita pizzas, ice tea and Mexican coke. The Caesar salad came with strips of anchovies which I liked it. It was a good portion enough to share. The pizzas were served on wooden boards. The sauce and toppings were very good. The Cura had big chunks of roasted garlic and olives, very nice. My son had the Margherita and liked the crust. He ate all of it. My husbands ice tea was good but they did not offer any sweetener. The Mexican coke came in a bottle and would have been better with a glass of ice. The music was from a record player, it was something my 10 year old had never seen before. That was a sight to see and for him to see vinyl records. Service was quick and he checked back a few times. Now if they would serve cold iced water this would be a 5 star review. Will go back for the pizza.

I judge a pizza place by its margherita pizza and this one was sadly lacking. The sauce was very sour and the basil was not fresh. It was also very empty for dinner on a Wednesday. The crust was just ok. The ambiance & the location were nice. I will continue to my quest for a good marg pizza in Tucson.

First time in and really enjoyed it. The kale salad was surprisingly delicious! Definitely will return for yummy and healthy eating!

When I sat down and looked at the menu, I was initially disappointed to not see meat as a topping. My wife had been wanting to come here for a while, so I figured I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did. The combination of a perfectly baked brick oven crust and really fresh toppings made this pizza taste amazingly delicious. The pizza we got was about 13", divided into 6 slices, so the portion was perfect for two people. Service was great. The greeter and our waitress were both courteous and gave that "happy to be here" vibe. Overall, I am very satisfied with our visit. I told my wife next time I'm taking this bad boy to go and slapping some pepperoni on it tho. :)

Disappointed with Falora! Burnt pizza crust, overly oily zucchini salad, stale croutons in the Caesar. Cool ambience but poor execution.

Yelpers did not disappoint when saying the kale salad was the best they've had in town, I mean really...yum!!! We had the caprese with Alfonso's balsamic and the kale salad, both were delish. We had the pizza with dates, purple potatoes, feta and white truffle oil. We added on some buffalo mozzarella for 4$, such a good choice. We had the three truffles for dessert, those we're amazing also. Our server was Stephanie, she was very nice and knowledgable about everything on the menu. The owner was also there, which I love! He came over and asked us how everything was, and we also caught him clearing off and bussing tables to help the staff, which is a rare thing to see these days with owners. The place was so cute, bring in your own vinyl and they will play it for you...only bummer is there wasn't any music on the patio!! Either way, awesome place. It made me and my boyfriend want to move closer to them! We will definitely be back.

The pizza here is as close to Italy as you can get in Tucson. This is such a quaint and rustic little place with an awesome pizza oven in the corner. The owner is very nice and gets really excited about whats on the menu when you ask for recommendations, which is always a good thing. I've tried most of the pizza's and haven't had one i didn't like, and every time I think the Cura is my favorite I change my mind. The salads are yummy and fresh, and the special is always something local and unique. The pizza here is different than the thicker crust at Scordatos and not anywhere close to New York style pizza like 1702 and Brooklyn. Its similar to Vero Amore, but i think the pizza on the menu is more unique. Definitely worth checking out!

This spot is awesome. It's perfect for date night or a casual comfort. The decor is modern open and inviting. I love the wood stacked decoratively on the wall! But it's functional, too, and goes right into the authentic Italian wood burning oven. I spent 3 months in Italy devouring pizza, and this crust is the most like Italy that I've found in the US. But there's a twist, because the menu incorporates all the fresh local veggies from Sleeping Frog Farm, a fantastic small organic farm. I also love the veggies made into very creative and fresh salads for me to enjoy before pizza arrives. Each time we go the two of us split a salad and a pizza and enjoy beer or wine. The selection of beverages is great too, although I'd love a local rotating beer. The service is steadily improving since opening- it took a bit to work out the kinks. Thanks, Ari, for another great Tucson spot.

It's just a perfect place to chill out and eat some awesome food. Arrosto pizza(awesome!), butter pecan salad, sipping some decent wine with your requested vinyl.
(5)Jeli T.
Great pizza and even better ambiance! The server was constantly making sure our drinks were full and had vast knowledge on the menu. We had the Cura pizza and it was delicious. However, please note the pizza sizes are very small and not for sharing.
(4)Debbi W.
I've been here several times but was waiting till I tried the pizza to write a review. Well still no pizza today but had the most scrumptious ice mocha ever. It was served with a big smile. Yummo!

I went to Falora with a few girlfriends for Girls' Night Out. The atmosphere was schwanky and cool. I like the lighting and the decor and love seeing the kitchen and the pizza oven. I'm not sure that it will be a regular on rotation for our Girls' Night adventures though. Though the pizza was tasty and the service was great, there are no appetizer choices on the menu other than salads. I would like to see a variety of tasty nibblets to be able to share with my friends in addition to the pizza and salad offerings. The owner came to check on our table several times to make sure we were happy with the food and service, which I thought was very nice. The bottom line is that I would go back, I would recommend, I just don't know if it will be one of my MUST GO places, unless they beef up the menu with some apps and also maybe some more meat options for pizzas like chicken or shrimp?

Excited to have this place in the neighborhood. First time in tonight, split a caesar salad and cura pizza with my date, and we each had a glass of chianti. We were struck by the limited offerings, as others have noted, but assumed (rightly) that it is a matter of "do few things and do them well." Pizza was delicious, easily the best crust I've had in Tucson. We both felt perhaps there was a potential herb (basil? oregano?) missing from the toppings, but delicious still. Didn't mind the communal seating at all (seriously people, get out of your self-centered bubbles!) but did find the noise leve to be a bit obnoxious when parties were leaving tables (the chairs scooting on the concrete floor reverberate off all the hard surfaces and make a hell of a racket). Will be back.
(4)Shelby K.
Pretty good. It reminds me of an upscale and hip restaurant in LA, which Tucson has very few. Is a good place to go with a friend or on a date to split a salad and split a pizza.
(5)Chester P.
My wife and two of our friends and I had a wonderful experience at Falora. The two pizzas we had were among the best I have ever eaten. They have a well chosen wine selection. The service is friendly. The lighting is soft, the long wooden, European style tables are nice, and the tiled, wood-burning oven is beautiful. Doesn't get better than this!
(5)Gyasi K.
Excellent pizza. Best bet for Neapolitan style pizza in tucson (until Bianca opens his new place). The service was fine, no problems.

There's pizza and salads --- and then there's Falora. This place is awesome. I'm not going to go into what we had, because we've eaten there 3 times in the last 2 months. Each time the food is just amazingly good. It's really not pizza. It's a step above. And the salads are not really like a salad you'd get at, say, some other restaurant. They are a step above as well. For those of you who can appreciate this comparison, Falora is to pizza what Jeff Beck is to guitarists. An original that leaves one in awe. I feel strongly about writing reviews about restaurants as eating is one of my great pleasures in life. When I eat at a restaurant that has had good reviews and come out disappointed, I'm not a happy camper. Falora makes me happy. I not only feel lucky to have found this place, I feel lucky that I live so close by. Definitely worth a visit .... or three ... or four... Oh ... and did I mention that the service is great as are the vinyl records they play.

Was reallly excited to check out Ari Shapiro's latest. It was about average. That caught me a little off guard because I was assuming it would be great. I got the Roasted Salad and the Marinara pizza. Also got the bread and butter "appetizer". The bread was good, really big loaf. My one request would be to not serve solid cold butter with it. Particularly because the bread is not warm either, but room temperature. The salad was kind of average. The date dressing did not really come through at all. The dressing was there but I didn't detect any sweetness that would tell me there was dates in it. The roasted veggies needed salt. I am by no means someone who usually sprinkles salt tableside. But salt does amp up flavors and these veggies were flat tasting. On a positive side the size was good for the price. Again, just not a bunch of flavor going on. Nothing remarkable. As a side note, no salt or pepper on the tables or offered. The pizza crust was nicely cooked. But again both the crust and tomato sauce needes a slight pick-me-up of salt. Pizza crust is so simple but when not seasoned well, tastes flat and uneventful. If I had ordered a pizza with cheese I could understand the sauce not being well salted, but the Marinara pizza is just crust, sauce, basil and roasted garlic. I was hoping for a Pizzeria Bianco-ish experience. There the pizzas are sooo flavorful and memorable. I am not counting out Falora yet, will give them time to perfect their food offerings. Won't comment on service, went during a slow time and don't think that is a true test of how a place runs.

Went to Falora last week and absolutely loved it. If you are looking for a great artisanal pizza at a reasonable price, then this is the place to go. Decor is modern, yet laid back. Service was great. Highly recommended!
(4)Kelley S.
Well let me start with the good things, the pizza oven is really cool and the atmosphere is very clean and hip. However the place is not at all kid friendly. No kids menu and not even just a cheese pizza on the menu. The service was not very good and I just was not impressed with the food. Don't get me wrong it was not horrible but for the prices they are charging I was disappointed. My service was just ok as well. The server seemed to forget about my table and after we had received the check the server brought us plates because she had totally forgotten they we had already eaten. It was not that busy so I was surprised that the server had forgotten about us. The pizza was to me just ok. My family and I love to go to local restaurants but we will be skipping this one. I really wanted to love this restaurant but it does not have that Italian feel at all. To me it was simply overpriced and nothing special.

Sigh. When will people learn not to nitpick every little wrinkle in service during a restaurant's first few weeks?! What is wrong with you people?! Unfortunately, the current star rating for Falora is in no way, shape, or form reflective of a typical dining experience there. Are there some kinks in the service? Yup. Did it take a little over ten minutes for someone to come over and take my drink order the first time I dined here? Sure did. Did the food, ambiance, and overall atmosphere overcome all of these hiccups? You bet! I have eaten in the restaurant once and have ordered takeout once. During my first visit, my bf and I were seated by Ari, who directed us over to two side-by-side seats at the communal table. This being Tucson, communal tables are a novelty, despite the fact that they're ubiquitous in other cities. We were a little hesitant at first given the fact that there was another couple seated directly across from us, but by the end of the meal we had exchanged menu recommendations and engaged in friendly chit chat with said couple and another group of people seated next to us. Onto the good stuff. The wine list, while not super extensive, is pretty darn good for a neighborhood pizza spot--lots of Italian options. I had a glass of the "Nero," a red blend that went perfectly with our pizza. We ordered the marinara pizza and a Caprese salad, both to share. The pizza, while simple (no cheese!), was super tasty. Real San Marzano tomatoes make all the difference! And the garlic, while plentiful, didn't overpower. The crust was a perfect combo of chewy and crispy. Delish. The salad was actually my favorite part of the meal. The mozzarella tasted fresh, and the caper and garlic tapenade added a lot of punch. For takeout, we got the Arrosto pizza and the kale salad. The Arrosto pizza--with feta, eggplant, potatoes, and dates--is a weird combination of toppings that somehow manages to be perfect. I think it's the dates that puts it over the top. The kale salad was my least favorite item I've tried, mostly b/c in my opinion, it was overdressed. I will back to Falora many, many times, and I hope other people give it a chance too!

Everyone liked the pizza, and I LOVED the kale salad. The service, though, is laughably bad.

I was born and raised in Italy and this is the best Italian pizza I have had in Tucson in a long time. It is simple and made with fresh ingredients and that is what true Italian pizza is like. This is now my favorite to go to pizza place.

I love pizza, so checking out a new place that specializes in it is something to look forward to. We stopped in late Saturday afternoon after the Arizona / ASU game to give Falora a try. There are so, so many things that I didn't care for: the lack of televisions, lack of bar, communal seating, severely limited menu, no substitutions on toppings, hardly any meat offerings. I could go on, but I won't because the excellent pizza almost made up for all the other shortcomings. We ordered the Cura (I believe it was called), which had garlic, olives, cheese, and the only meat offering that wasn't fish (but the life of me, I can't remember what it was). The pizza came out super fast, and was very good. The crust is very thin, but didn't have the chew of most thin crust pizza's I have had. It was more like a cracker. But a tasty cracker. I regret to say we didn't try any of the salads or dessert (only one offering). Perhaps next time, but probably not. I'm glad we tried Falora, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. I'm more of a Grimaldi's gal.

I liked the Pizza.....do not like the place or the rules. We have been eyeing down this new Pizza place for a while and decided to stop in for a taste. We walked in, and there was one person finishing and leaving, not busy at all, and the Hostess told us to sit wherever. I proceeded to this nice little table by a Bay window, and she told us the table is "reserved" for 4 people. We were the only customers there! Almost left on that note, but we sat down, and were handed our menus. I always like a nice cold beer and looked at one menu, and it stated to "ask the server" for availability, so I did, and she pointed to the other menu where there was a list of about 4 or 5 beers, none that were "local" which is a big thing for many of us these days. So if it's a nice AZ. beer that you fancy, you will not find it here. So, I ordered an "Iced Tea"....Bummer....Strike 2!....The pizza came quickly, and it was tasty, but don't count on any "silverware" either unless you order a salad which the party who came in after us did. They received silverware, and the waitress placed it on their napkins nicely, but we just had to rough it since we just ordered pizza.....Silverware should be placed on the table regardless. Strike 2.5......And the place smelled musty, moldy, or like wet lathe wood from an old apartment. Got used to it, but that was Strike 3. The place did not smell like a Pizza restaurant, but did smell very moldy, which is not healthy. Like I said though, the Pizza is tasty, but without the Beer selection, and interior decor, there are other Pizza places that has better Pizza for a less price right up the street in the Downtown District......I probably will not go back....Oh yes, another party came in later and wanted to sit at that table also, and the Manager/Owner stated the table was only for parties of 6.......If the table is open, then let us sit there!.....Loosen up and drop all the rules, and put some silverware down for God;s sake, even if we don't use it......Be a classy place....

I'm always looking for new local restaurants to try. Driving down Broadway, my sister, our friend, and I saw Falora and thought we would give it a try. We decided to sit outside because it was a beautiful day. We each ordered a pizza; the Bianca, Giardino, and Arrosto. The server accidentally dropped my pizza. She was very apologetic and offered me bread and olive oil to eat while I waited for a new pizza. She was really great. We were checked on multiple times to make sure everything was good and to see if we needed anything. Ari, the owner, caught us on the way out to talk with us. There's nothing better than a restaurant owner who loves what they do and cares about customers. We had a really great experience. The pizza was fantastic. People have made complaints about the prices, but I don't mind spending $14 on a pizza with dates and truffle oil. If you want a $5 pizza go to a quick service chain.
