Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

A month old ... And EXCELLENT! If you like a real good Asian buffet this is the one. Lovely interior, Very Clean, friendly staff, and a great variety of food. Can't go wrong here.

I hate to do this but I can't leave my mark of approval on East Buffet after my last encounter. Met a friend a couple days ago who was craving Chinese, so I suggested this place to show him how good it was compared to even some of the takeout places around town. This time I was wrong, and we both walked away feeling not so great.. I'm amazed at how the quality of a place can change in such a short time. Maybe I caught you at a bad time, but dinner is like your primetime! None of the food was fresh, it had all been sitting out for quite awhile. Anything fried was overly crunchy or practically burnt. Mind you this was like 6pm, right smack in the middle of what should be dinner time. And with that East Buffet provided a sore reminder of why we do not normally eat at these kinds of places; just not worth the mediocre, old food and the upset stomach for what it is. My advice is to keep your quality consistent! That's how you keep people coming back.

Before my visit to East Buffet, I read the reviews for this new restaurant. It seemed to have either been great or terrible, so I knew not to set any expectations for my visit. East Buffet occupies the space of a previous Chinese buffet. Compared to that one, this was was much better. East Buffet is clean, from the tables to the bathrooms. I like how modern it looks on the inside. The prices are a little higher than others. The service is slightly better compared to other Asian buffets in Tucson. My water never got to empty because they paid attention to when it needed to be refilled. Plates were removed in a timely manner and they actually smiled and asked about the food. That usually doesn't happen at the other places. The food was good, but there are some things to note: they use too much salt, sugar, and/or butter, depending on the item. If they used less and added something more relating to enhancing flavor, it would be great. That said, there was a good variety of food. Overall, I will say that if this place is convenient for you to visit, check it out. Your experience might be better or worse than mine.

I miss the old Chinese buffet restaurant that used to be here. I decided to try the new one but it was not that good. First the decor is nicer, modern and clean vs. the typical Chinese buffet interior. Staff were all very helpful when I went. Food was not awful but mostly flavorless. Some things were stale as if they had been sitting under the warmers too long. I did like the texture of the salt and pepper crab--almost like soft shell crab--but I did not taste any salt or pepper. Lo mein was so bland even I could not eat it. Singapore mei fun was bland but tolerable. Green beans were good. Dessert was standard buffet fare with a decent variety of ice cream flavors but the green tea was not very sweet. I know they recently opened but they need to make some improvements. I'd start with some flavor and fresher food. 1 star for food but decor and staff deserve at least 2. Sushi was average, typical buffet fare.

First visit to East buffet, lured in in-part by reading the good reviews. Unfortunately I was not impressed. There was nothing that was so gross it made me spit the food out, but not one single item that was any better than just "meh" either. Usually I feel like buffets have a couple items to steer clear of, and a couple that are clear winners. Not here. I guess at least that speaks to the consistency of the food quality and favors. Nothing was downright awful. But nothing was great either. Across the board (Chinese, Japanese, and desserts), everything was just "ok." I probably won't be returning since there are better Chinese places in town, but it wasn't my worst experience with Chinese buffets in Tucson either.

Really enjoyed this place. I was surprised at how many sea food options they had. Place was really clean and kept food area full and fresh. Their sushi was very fresh. I recommend their bacon wrapped shrimp, their own version of cocktail sauce and shrimp. Any chicken dish was good. There was no over saltiness at all as other reviews mention. I will definitely come back to this place whenever I'm back in town.

I really wanted to try and like this place. I love the experience of Asian buffets. All the different options for your taste buds to mingle with. After eating here, i'll never cheat on U-Like ever again. I went on a Saturday night expecting that would be the night to go, however the place was slow. The food was bland, the seafood tasted old, and the options were limited. I wanted to like this place because the customer service was top notch and you can tell the people that work there work hard to make a living for themselves. Hopefully the food gets better!

I like the food of the restaurant. Really great. Not only the food is good. People are very friendly. Feel very cordial. Decoration is very good also. Reasonable price also special. Anyway I like it very much. I will go again. Recommend to taste. Must be won't regret it.just 10.99 $

Terrible food!!!! Trust me!!! Never again!!!! Even no one dish is eatable. At this time, I don't care if the food is tasty, but, I consider the food is not today's, maybe yesterday or the day before yesterday, which are all left overs!!!!!! Orange chicken is the most typical dish in any buffet, the flavored are most the same, however in this restaurant, it sucks....... Also there are just a few customers, I guess everyone has the same though with me!!!

not very good... certainly not as good as other buffets in the area. Not many choices and food was way bland.

I would give it maybe a star if it had decent food. Not even the noodles were good. Soup was gross. Chicken was dry. Dessert was hard not even fresh. Would recommend to not even make the trip over here.

A great place with good sushi and decent seafood..is not this place. The crab was crap. Sushi was sour. Don't get me wrong seasoning is nice, but food overall is crappy. If your reading this please, go see what your competitors (hibachi, wok n roll, or uLike), all currently better than you. If you want good food, wok n roll weekend at night is what I recommend, you'll appreciate the sushi chef.

Good food and friendly staff. We liked it more than the good former buffet, though we miss Mayflower more :(. We'll be back.

My favorite buffet in Tucson really it's brand new not over crowed and the people who come here don't make me wanna throw up. They have bacon wrapped shrimp and there crab is amazing!!! Fried rice is awesome. Desert is yummy. It's very clean and I been here 3 times in one week I know I'm a fatty but that's how good it is

If you like authentic style Chinese and Japanese food you will like this restaurant. I tried a little bit of everything and enjoyed exploring the differing seafood fare. You can't compare apples to oranges and it is not your typical Chinese food. Please try it and live a little!

I come here for the Spicy Chicken (loaded with jalapenos) and the Las Vegas rolls. Service is great and these folks are working hard.

Just had an amazing buffet dinner. All of the food was fresh and hot. Service was fast and very friendly! I was very impressed with the desserts as well. Barrels of ice cream you can scoop out for yourself, great fruit salad and cooked pudding, not that instant junk! If I lived around here I would definitely return!

When I saw that there was a new buffet going into what had been the China D Buffet, I thought perhaps it would be something either equivalent to what had come before or -- hopefully -- it would be an improvement, especially in light of the continued loss of May Flower at Oracle and Orange Grove. Boy, was I wrong. Cold food. Soggy food. Greasy food. Six buffet stations and I couldn't tell what half of the food was because nothing was labeled and when there were labels, they were clearly NOT for the food in front of them. (For example, I'm pretty sure sautéed green beans look nothing like crab rangoon...and yet, were I to believe the label....) Asking what things were? Well, when you wanted a staff member, nobody was around. But when one finally sat down, it's as though they came out of nowhere and were clustered around the host station. Should pork egg rolls have a wrapper that tastes like it's been soaked in sugar? Or chicken on a skewer be virtually all gristle? I went back and tried again -- same flavor for the egg roll and I was able to get about two finger's worth of acceptable chicken off the second skewer. It's hard to screw up sweet-and-sour chicken (i.e., the fried puffy pieces of chicken with the obligatory reddish sauce next to it) and to their credit, I could eat that. But I couldn't find any hot mustard and my server "wasn't sure" if they had any. ("Could you please ask?" I replied. He was gone for 10 minutes and came back and said, "nobody is sure.") Dinner is $10.99 and if I actually was able to choke down $6 worth of food (mostly the sweet-and-sour chicken pieces), I'd have been surprised. I never did see a dessert area, though I shudder to think if I did, I'd have found melted ice cream, dried-out cake slices and odd-colored gelatin desserts. While I didn't try the Japanese food (which seemed only to be sushi, nothing else), at least it looked appetizing enough. But by the time I was interested, my stomach was already rumbling uncomfortably, so I grudgingly paid the bill and left. (I suppose I could have complained about things and tried to angle for a discount, but at that point, I just wanted to leave.) East Buffet has a lot of work ahead of it. First and foremost, fix the food quality. Second, change the layout of things on the buffets so it's logical -- one for salads and sauces/dressings, one for entrees, one for soups and related fixings, one for sushi/tempura/etc. So, the overall experience? It simply wasn't good and it was reflected in how few people were in there and how disturbingly quiet it was. The space is almost too big for what's in there. If this is the level of quality they plan to keep, then they will never fill all the tables in there, nor will they remain open for long.
