We had a pretty good experience here! This place is what it is- it's your neighborhood pub. If you're looking for somewhere to stop by for a burger and a beer this seems to be a pretty cool place to do so. There's good food, a nice beer selection, and sports on the TV. Our server was very friendly and attentive and knew the menu and beer selection pretty well. For our food, I ordered the fish and chips and my girlfriend had the cheeseburger. Both of these were pretty good. The portions thankfully weren't super massive, but we certainly did not leave hungry! If you're in the area and looking for divey bar/pub type ambiance and looking for good food, good beer, and good service, then give this place a try!

Ended up at the Driftwood for karaoke after going some place else that was way too crowded. It's a small dive bar, so I didn't expect much, and it still disappointed me. The karaoke host had a big book of songs that they were SUPPOSED to have. To her credit the host did mention that they had their hard drive crash and they hadn't re-uploaded all the songs. That was an understatement. I chose 4 songs and they didn't have any of them! Eventually I gave up trying to find something that I wanted to sing that they actually had. My friends had better luck, but still had chosen songs that they didn't have, even though they were in the book. I am sympathetic to the hard drive crash, but get another company in there until you get everything re-uploaded. To have a book full of songs that you don't have is just unprofessional. They ruined what was up until that point a great night. The decor is bad, even for a dive bar, and dear God, the bathroom was horrible! Now I did give them 2 stars instead of one because the bartender was nice. Still, there is zero chance I will ever go back here.

Incredibly underwhelming. A friend and I were meeting for breakfast and I heard this place was putting out some decent food and serving breakfast. My friend was skeptical since she had hung out at this bar 20 years ago and it was a dive then. But she acquiesced to my request, both of us hoping the reviews were telling of the improvement. Not so. She had the chorrizo and eggs. According to the menu, it's three eggs with chorrizo. There is no way there was three eggs in that. Granted they gave quite a bit of chorrizo, but it was "Chorrizo and a touch of egg". She said the flavors were not outstanding by any stretch. The cook was convinced to make me a BLT, so bonus for that (one reason for the second star). The BLT was pretty good, well made (another reason for the second star). The fries were ok. Nothing special. The service was pretty poor. She was nice, but didn't follow directions. My friend asked for iced tea with extra ice. She was given iced tea with a few cubes of mostly melted ice floating in it. So she asked for an extra cup of ice. She was given a half full cup of ice. I would have thought ice was not too expensive, but apparently it's a precious commodity there. I had coffee. My cup remained empty for about 10 minuets before she finally figured it out, and she was too busy with the bar crowd to notice...mind you that there were 4 customers at the bar and one other table of two there. I also noticed that patrons are allowed to carry their beer out into the parking lot. I was a little surprised. I don't remember every liquor law word for word, but I'm pretty sure that isn't within the bounds of legality. IF I were going there for an after work 7:30am beer, I think this would have earned an extra star. But probably just one.

I don't know that this place ever had a "grace" to fall from, but what it WAS is not what it IS. If anyone is familiar with this historical Tucson establishment, I'd say that you should not come in here and expect the good old days. This was once a dive with satisfied regulars that now seems like a fledgling restaurant looking to find its place. Where you once had dartboards and a bare-bones inside, you'll now find restaurant seating and higher drink prices. I once sold the idea of coming here as that fun dive bar that has cheap drinks and friendly people; while the bartenders are still friendly, the last few times I walked in, it didn't feel like the place I had come to love (and the drinks are much pricier). This doesn't mean all is bad. I understand the food to be great (but that's never why I ever wanted to come here, so I don't know firsthand). They have rotating taps with beer from local breweries and have contests every now and again. It has much of the feel of a restaurant/bar that you might find at Park Place or some restaurant district except that it still has a rough exterior, surrounded by an unsavory neighborhood... I can't recommend Driftwood with the same enthusiasm I previously could have because I just don't recognize it anymore...and now I need to find a new dive bar on the East Side.

My family went a few weeks ago for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It was not busy at all, we had awesome service, the cooks came out to make sure our food was good which it was. I found the bartenders to be very knowledgeable about the beers as they were doing a tap take over. We have young twins and would rather take them to a small hole in the wall where we can relax and enjoy rather than say an over crowded Red Robin where it is just too over stimulating for them. I'm sure the driftwood doesn't get a lot of kids, but they only have 1 high chair. We usually call places like this just to make sure they are available and bring our own- just a heads up if you have more than 1 young child. We had a nice relaxing time and did not feel rushed! 5 Stars!

Life time resident of Tucson, I was weary of going to the Driftwood, had a reputation as being a rundown dive. Decided to give it a try after reading positive reviews, so I took my family for a late breakfast last Saturday . So glad I did. The bartender/ server was fantastic, excellent customer service, took our order with a smile and was constantly attentive to our needs. Ordered the chorizo for me and my girl, it was perfectly delicious, came with beans and fried potatoes, cooked to perfection. Grandson ordered a small stack, enough to feed a grown man. Great food and service. We will be back.

My wife and our friends have been going to this place for over 8-9 years. We've seen it's ups and downs, but it's OUR BAR! I love this place and if you want to go somewhere that is lo key and people are friendly. This is the place! With the adding of food (which is SUPER BOMB), new updated inside and out and all the feels of a big establishment, look no further and enjoy your time at the Mighty Driftwood. Candi is an amazing bartender and their staff is just as good to keep you coming back for more. Don't knock it, until you try it! #teambirdgang

Let's be frank...or Bob, or Mary...it's a small bar near the air base with a regular crowd and the food is above average for average prices, except good weekend specials. But Amanda, the new bar keep, is amazing! The weekend breakfast doesn't begin until 10, but is worth it if U saved your appetite for a good $4 bacon n egg brek, or go for the the pancakes with eggs n bacon, if U can afford the calories. Haven't gone for the karaoke, but it's probably like everywhere else; bring enuf friends and U "win!"

The other reviews were written so long ago as to be pointless. Where the tats and teeth line is accurate, everything else is for shit. 1 drink minimum during karaoke and alcohol prices all go up by a dollar. The chair I first sat in had a bent leg and all of them didn't have feet on them, so trying to scoot up was pointless. The bartender moved reasonably fast but as with most dive bars, unless you have a beer or whiskey taste, forget about getting something as exotic as a Mike's Hard Lemonade. And where the karoke hostess DID care and make sure you sounded as well as she could make you, there was a limnited selection of songs, no ability to play disks and, I suspect was running a illegal harddrive system with pirated music. Don't bother with their stupid conest, unless you're a regular, you won't qualify

This place has really good breakfast. Their early bird special is a great value, and I have also had the french toast and the chorizo plate, both really good. Have only been here for the food so I can't comment on the rest.

Got a great burger and cold beer, can't ask for much more. The décor is exactly what I was looking for as a vacationer trying to experience Arizona

Stopped by for a cold beer and was impressed on the good prices. The new owners are very nice and are doing a lot to update the place. The staff was inviting as well. Most people stay to themself in this local bar, so its nice to have a cold beer and relax.

They probably won't know your name. They likely won't care (or be sober enough to remember) that you came. But you'll still be glad you dropped in. The Driftwood is the quintessential, dingy dive bar. The locals are salty, the drinks are cheap, and the decor won't make you feel so bad about the way you've decided to decorate your bachelor pad. Quick quiz: 1. Do you have all of your teeth? 2. Do you have at least three limbs? 3. Are your lobotomy scars covered by a token swath of hair? If you answered "yes" to at least two of these questions, chances are you'll be the prettiest lord or lass at the Driftwood. Great ego boost, no? What can you say about a place in which troubles are drowned in $1.25 longnecks and the quality of the karaoke singing falls somewhere between that of a herd of cats in estrus and Andrea Bocelli's Down Syndrome-afflicted step-cousin? I'll tell you what I say: "Halle-freakin-llujah!" The Driftwood regulars all seem aware that they are but a few drinks away from the county lock-up, and, as such, no one judges, and the good times roll. I love that this place is within stumbling distance of my house. It's a great place for a hipster dufus to escape from his tragically hip lifestyle and unwind. The folks are almost universally friendly, and you will likely become engrossed in conversations with people all over the socio-economic map. The last time I visited (during a crowded karaoke Saturday evening) I heard all about a crusty ex-sailor's sex life in hard times, a disgruntled woman's dreams deferred, and a college student's struggle to come to terms with the fact that one of his testicles was marginally larger than the other. This is not the kind of place to which I would bring out of town visitors to show them the best of what Tucson has to offer, but it is a welcome refuge from the daily doldrums. Thank goodness places like the Driftwood exist.

This is the place your mother warned you about...that you're dying to go to! It's a true blue-collar dive bar that makes you feel like you're in a dingy tavern in South Philly or somewhere similar. The drinks are cheap, made right, and as strong as the law allows. I think they serve a menu of cheap and tasty greasy bar food too that goes well with a beer or cocktail, or ten. They might even have a steak night every so often. Be warned, karaoke is about 3 nights a week (Weds, Fri, & Sat) between 9pm and 2am, so if you don't enjoy hearing the locals wail, then skip these nights. The place is on its third owner in about 17 years, but none of them has a changed a thing about the place, which probably keeps people coming back for more.
