Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Great food ! Osso Buco is excellent but only served on Friday and Saturday. Marinara sauce is very tasty.

This place was nice, we went on a Tuesday evening and it was quiet. The waitress was really nice and helpful. I ordered the lasagna and got the salad with the house dressing which was delicious. I had so much, I had enough for lunch the next day. The noodles were great not mushy at all, the sauce was great and flavorful. We also ordered chocolate cake and it was sooooo good! Will be back here again!

Tasty food, big portions, smells funny inside. And the lunch specials were mostly Greek foods. The regular lunch menu is really pricey for lunch, but it seems to be pretty delicious. I had a meatball sub, which was huge, loaded with greasy cheesy goodness (well, I could have done without the grease floating on the cheese, but it was good). It came with a fistful of great french fries, and a side salad. The salad was way over-dressed, which is unfortunate because the zesty italian dressing was actually quite good. But it had 3 or 4 times more dressing than necessary, and when I had eaten all the vegetation, the salad bold had a serious layer of dressing left at the bottom. The weirdest part of the whole experience was being brought a refrigerated bottle of Heinz ketchup with the food. It's a fancy Italian restaurant with fancy prices, but the waiter showed up with the ketchup on the platter when he brought our food. And it was cold, and covered in condensation. It's unusual to find a restaurant that refrigerates ketchup. The restaurant had a strange odor both times I've been there. You get used to it by the time the food shows up, so I didn't take a star off for it. But it's unusual and it seems to be permanent.

I am stuffed! We've eaten at Doce Vita numerous times over the years and the food is always fabulous! The service is fantastic. And the atmosphere delightful! Put this restaurant on your must go to list of places. I promise you won't be disappointed! P.S. The chicken marsala is to die for!

Very hesitant to give them 1 star but finally decided to go with 2. My fiance and I walked in on a Monday night to a few minute wait. The hostess was trying to locate a table, surprisingly Dolce Vita was busy. She sat us against this dark quiet wall which was elegant. Ice cold water was served in clear goblets and our cloth napkins were wrapped ever so gently around the silverware. As we looked thru the menu there were several choices. I opted for a classic Italian meal linguine and white clam sauce. My fiance went with fettuccine alfredo with chicken. We also began the meal with an order of calamari. We waited about 15 minutes till our waiter greeted us and took our beverage order. After taking our beverage order and the appetizer he disappeared for another 10 minutes without our drinks. A little while later he showed up with our sodas and the calamari. The Calamari appeared to be desirable but it was far from. The breading was soggy and the squid was chewy and tough. After barely taking a few bites the waiter asked if we were "not feeling" the calamari, being the blunt person I am I said "No I am feeling it, however it's way of being prepared is far from being desired." The waiter stared blankly and said he was going to check on our soup and salad. Tick-Tock-Tick-Tock. - The soup and salad arrive with their complimentary bread and bow tie pasta. The soup and bread were delish, the bow tie pasta was tasteless and appeared as though it was from the lunch crowd. As we wait for our food to be served, several other parties around us whom have been seated after us have finished with their meals and are getting ready to leave. As dinner arrives, it looks appealing. My fiance advised me that his chicken was bland, the noodles were not cooked all the way thru. I explained to him al dente but after tasting on of his noodles they were the step before al dente... raw? My meal was ok just flavour-less and disappointing. Finally after almost a 2 hour dinner we left. I feel like I wasted 50 bucks on horrible tasting food. My hopes were high for Dolce Vita however they just didn't make it to my fave Italian restaurant list.

Very nice. The Osso Buco special was excellent, and the Merlot was delicious. I'll come back for sure. My companion had the Salmon and was quite pleased as well.

Pros: Nice, clean atmosphere. Good food. Great portions...Have leftovers!! Varied price range. However... I didn't rate this restaurant as high as I would like because.... Cons: Ordered a dish that was $15. Asked if they could add shrimp. The server said it was going to be an extra charge (thought she even slight charge, but can't remember exactly). I know some people would think I should have asked what that extra charge is, but the server should have said what the extra charge was because... I was with family as an out of town guest and I was going to pay for dinner, but didn't want to be cheap in front of family (embarrassing) and didn't want them to try and pay for my dinner, so I didn't want to ask. Just think it would be BEST Customer Service for any server to let someone know regardless if they care or not. That way if someone doesn't want to be completely obvious about the price, then they can be! That scores big with people and potentially tips! I called the restaurant to tell the manager that it would be best practice for their servers to tell people the extra charges (regardless of what it is) and he was a thick accented man that turned it around on me and how I should have asked. He said "99% of people would have asked".... I told him that I would not have paid $7 extra for shrimp had I known it was almost half as much as the price of my dinner. He was not very considerate of my concern and I explained the entire embarrassing money thing in front of guests/family and he didn't seem to care. He said that shrimp is expensive. He finally said ok, I will tell my servers, but he didn't seem very convincing. Oh well, I tried to help them out. If you want to be an exceptional restaurant with the best ratings...customer service is also key! Overall, good. Just a little bitter about the price. Shrimp was good, but not $7 extra good. The guy's lack of sympathy left a bitter taste in my mouth. Never argue or make the customer feel like they are in the wrong!

When I think of Italian restaurants in Tucson, I sometimes forget how delicious this restaurant is. The ambiance and service are fantastic. The food is scrumptious! The wine list is not bad either. Il Bastardo Sangiovese goes with just about anything. De

I'm not sure that was really veal. It may have been cube steak. Fettuccine Alfredo wasn't bad. Wife wasn't impressed with the minestrone. Place was almost empty on a Saturday night; that should have been a hint. Service and atmosphere were good, but food and value weren't enough to make up the difference. May consider trying it again for just pasta.

Had lunch at Dolce Vita Restaurant today. It was good and the server was terrific. There was only one other party there though. We had the mushroom/zucchini appetizer. It was good. The salad was predictable and had a little too much dressing on it for my taste. The spaghetti and meat sauce was very good. And, my husband really enjoyed his lasagna. The food was a little pricey but it was good.

Really great friendly prompt service, the good has been consistently excellent and a excellent value for your money!

So for starters I am stuffed great portions. For starters the bread came out nice and fresh the waiter who was awesome by the way also brought out a garlic infused olive oil with crushed black pepper for the bread great combo. I had a salad with a creamy garlic feta dressing which was excellent. Paired with a few glasses of wine that the waiter recommended I was feeling great by the time my main course arrived I had the special which was a shrimp, with penne pasta with garlic, spinach, tomatoes, black olives topped with mounds of feta cheese in an olive oil based sauce. I left full and completely relaxed (the wine helped) I would recommend this place anytime! The atmosphere and staff made my after work dining experience wonderful.

Two for two. Had the eggplant Parmesan for lunch last time and the chicken Marian (Marsala) today and both were excellent. Nice sized portions, wonderful flavors, and attentive service. Also had the Italian wedding soup (which came with the meal today) and it was very good too. While I don't get to this area often, nice to know there's a good place like this when I'm here.

We arrived about seven tonight and went in to the half full restaurant for what we were hoping would be a fine and cozy dinner. We were quickly greeted by a host, who cleaned an empty table, provided setups and seated us bringing menus and waters. Being our first time, we studied the menu carefully wondering what we should get. Wifey looked at a plate of calamari that was heading for another table and decided the breading was too heavy for her liking. We discussed what would I get, what would she like. We watched maybe five or six servers scamper about as if they had places to be and people to meet. But no one stopped to say they would be with us shortly. More patrons came in. Servers set up more tables. People were seated. I read the wine menu and then looked at the dinner menu a little bit more to be sure about what I might want to have. Our host refilled my half consumed water without a word. But no one had come to take even a drink order. We piled our menus on the table. Servers kept running around but none made eye contact, no one smiled. I looked into wifey's eyes. She was not happy. We watched the minute hand go round and round the clock face. I said let's wait until the next even five minutes comes up. We watched the minute hand circle the clock until the time elapsed and then we just left. We. Will. Never. Go. Back. Epilogue. We drove up Pantano a few blocks to one of our favorite East side places and had a lovely dinner.

Sitting here now. It's really hot in this restaurant. Said Buona Sera to Harry the waiter. He was clueless. But my first clue. Bread came. A whole loaf which was tasteless. How about 1 slice with a small slice of cheese. Hint hint. Then came the veal florentine. Can you say deep fried veal swimming in butter sauce. Yuck. Was here 2 years ago and vowed never to return. Hoping for a miracle this time. Nope. Soup needed something. How about a sprinkle of salt as another hint. Gotta get outta here and cool off in the desert air.

I've had better Italian at Applebee's. So for starters their iced tea is awful. There was an upcharge for splitting a plate for "the dishes". The marinara sauce was awful. DO NOT GET BAKED MOZZARELLA. They baked my pasta which dried out all the noodles and made them crunchy. My sister had "al diente" which was more like not cooked noodles. This restaurant could really be a nice place if they served better food.

We went for the first time 11/25/14 and loved it, we had escargot for an appetizer, my wife had the spaghetti and I had the chicken fettuccine alfredo.

Dolce Vita has been a family favorite for as long as I can remember. My grandparents are on a first name basis with almost everyone at the restaurant. Don't expect anything fancy when coming here but you will get tasty food and lots of it. They always bring out fresh bread (I believe its from a nearby bakery) with olive oil and fresh cracked pepper followed by a pasta salad to start and then their entrees all come with soup or salad. The salad with their house garlic feta dressing is delicious... they need to sell it by the bottle. Most of the entrees come with a pasta of your choice which is a nice way to change things up if you're like me and you learn towards ordering the same dish every time you're there. One of my favorites when they have it is the stuffed salmon. I usually end up taking about 2/3rds of it home though because the portion is so large. They also always have wonderful homemade desserts. Even if I'm too full for one there my grandpa always has me get one to go :) They bring around a tray of them for you to look out so its almost impossible to say no to at least one. They do get pretty busy on the weekends so reservations aren't a bad idea but you can also sit in the bar if you want. After all the years of going here I've never left unsatisfied so they're doing something right.

How does restaurant deserve a good rating when the pizza from DiGiorno would have been better?

Quality Italian restaurants are rare in Arizona. Average ones are a dime a dozen. As far as Dolce Vita is concerned, it's one of the better overall experiences I tend to have in comparison to other Italian restaurants. That's not to suggest that it's perfect, but for an intermediate sized city, Dolce Vita has been a reliable mainstay for several years. I have had very few mediocre dishes and only one I would deem poor. I am sure one poor dish is unacceptable to any restaurant owner or manager, but I have eaten here well over a dozen times over the years, so one bad instance didn't prevent me from returning. I generally stick to the traditional spaghetti dishes and will rotate between meatballs, sausage or both. The meat is cooked / seasoned perfectly each time without exception. Whether that's all done on site or they purchase their meat from a vender, it works. The noodles are always how I like them, which borders on Al dente, but not quite there. They have a distinct bite and a taste that I can only describe as eloquent. Where they lose me a little is with the sauce. At times it's absolutely incredible and, at others, it's a watery, sugary mess. I am not sure if it depends on the time of day, day of the week... I can't piece it together, but I have had differing experiences with the sauce on an inconsistent basis. That's really the only flaw I have encountered with Dolce Vita. Another dish I adore is the Chicken Parmesan. The breading used for the chicken is delightful and the fresh tasting cheese allows the chicken, sauce and noodles to combine to form an orgasmic explosion of flavors. My ONE bad experience at Dolce Vita (which -- to be fair -- was four years ago), however, happened with this dish. The breading fell off and the chicken was cold. It was pretty gross, but I chalked it up as an exception to the rule. Oh, I almost forgot to mention how much I really like the bread they serve before the meal. They give you a garlic and rosemary infused olive oil with cracked pepper to dip your bread in. I could eat it as a mealm that's how satisfying it is. I definitely suggest that anyone looking for a good Italian joint in Tucson to try this place.

This place isn't the best nor is it the worst, it's just above the middle. Let's just say, it's better than Olive Garden. I had the chicken Marsala with pasta Alfredo, and it was good. I just happen to think I make it better ;). This place nothing fancy, I like it for those days were I don't want to cook, and I want something that's not super "upscale," but don't want crappy food either. The service is pretty decent.
(3)Hilary M.
So we were out and about with our 2 girls (3&7) and they wanted pasta. We stopped here thinking Italian but since it's in a shopping mall it shouldn't be too fancy. Well the prices weren't bad but were we wrong. It was AMAZING! The girls had pasta with marinara both plates under $15 dollars together. I had the special...stuffed salmon and my boyfriend had the lamb. Those ran us $20 a piece but SOOO worth it. The staff was super friendly and not snobby about 2 younglings in their upscale restaurant. My compliments both to the chef and the HR person for hiring such great people.

Best Italian food I've had since moving to Tucson from LA. Omg. My bf and I were in heaven! Everything was amazing! Highly recommend the Tirimisu for dessert. Homemade..and best I've had since traveling to Europe.

Went for dinner....began with drinks...bread and seasoned oil arrived....salads were nice size and good. I got shrimp dolic vita...fresh broccoli, artichokes, mushrooms and shrimp. Sauce was very flavorful.I would ask for aldente pasta next time...People I was with ate: lasagna, meat ravioli, chicken marshals, and vegetable primivera... Yummy..we were too full to order dessert..

Owners are Greek and it shows in the food. The spaghetti is perfectly al dente as it should be and the gyro is delicious. The decor could use a little updating otherwise, a good place to have lunch.
(4)Lauren K.
Dolce Vita is a consistent disappointment. The only reason I return is because it's close to home. After our visit last night, though, I don't think we'll be returning. The restaurant is never busy. 6pm and there were two other tables besides us. One table complained that their water glasses (which are set on the table before a party is seated) were full of dust. Yuck. I ordered the Chicken Parm with fettuccini alfredo and my husband had the Gyro platter. First came the bread. It was terribly stale. It just crumbled into flakes on the plate. I asked for a new loaf. It was still slightly stale, but better. Next, salad for me, and minestrone soup for my husband, as well as their complimentary bowtie pasta. My salad was ok, but there was a lot of water in the plate, and some of the lettuce was a little brown. The soup was also ok, maybe a little too peppery and lacking some salt. The bowtie pasta was atrocious. The pasta felt and tasted like it had been sitting out all day. It was getting hard (not because it was al dente) because it was left out. It was chewy. It was also bland. Meh. Why serve something complimentary when you don't care about it? Waste of time. My chicken parm was DIS-GUS-TING! That piece of chicken was NOT cooked yesterday at all! It had the appearance, taste, and tenderness of something that had been cooked, freezer burned, and then recooked. The edges of the chicken were dark brown (inside the breading, like, the actual chicken breast). The breading looked burned slightly, yet was soggy and gross. Somehow, though it was loaded with cheese, the cheese tasted like nothing. Cutting through the chicken was like cutting through particle board. It was awful. I didn't eat it. The alfredo was bland, and just not worth eating, either. My husband's gyro platter was ok, but nothing better than fast food quality. Our waiter was ok, I guess. He refilled our drinks well enough and was friendly-ish. But he didn't care to ask how our meal was at all. Not halfway through it, or at the end. Overall, I spent $50 on old, frozen, gross, bland food. Not worth it.
(2)Bob H.
Harry and Irene cook up some of the best Italian food on the East-side. His special marinara sauce is the best, with I think a hint of cinnamon. Very friendly, and casual, yet you won't feel out of place dressed up a bit. Great food for the $$. Wish they still made breakfasts!!
(4)Leo B.
I am sorry guys but I was told that they had this great sauce and was really turned off by its taste. I do not think I would ever go back.

Garbage pretending to be expensive gourmet food ! star because review won`t post NO star. Four Star ratings are delusional at the best , Fictional at Worst. A horrible expensive experience. As the dishes were returned the next got worse..Punish the diner for complaining about frozen ,microwaved slop Gordon Ramsey ....Help !!
(1)Chris L.
Awesome!! This place is not easily seen from the street, but we sort of stumbled on to it trying to decide where to go. I go to Sprouts Grocery all the time and never noticed this place...I did notice however that they passed with an A+ on their health dept inspection. Being from Los Angeles I am used to seeing the A, B, C rating in the window but haven't seen that in AZ that much. Its a little dark but still cozy. 5 stars to them..
(5)Cory L.
Pollo Picata is amazing. Overall pleasant experience. Good service, quiet pleasant atmosphere. Food is a little pricey but you get the main course, side of pasta, bowl (not cup) of soup and side of antipasto. Very happy with my visit. I will return.
(4)Jill B.
Seriously, the best Italian food I've had in Tucson since moving here two years ago. I was completely, delightfully surprised at how good the food was. They make their own cannolis, the sauce was tasty, the portions appropriately large, the service was excellent and they even have a bar (though I did feel sort of bad ordering a Long Island when they had a wine list longer than the food menu). The only reason they get four stars is because it was kind of expensive. Which isn't to say it's not totally worth it -- just that it's not a 'once a week' kind of place.
(4)Georgia G.
I absolutely adore this place! It has an inviting atmosphere, friendly staff, and most importantly delicious food! There is nothing I haven't tried (either my plate or a friends' dish), that I wasn't happy with, everything is delish! My favorite, of course, is the Carbonara ... OMG so good! They also have an eclectic wine selection, which is great, as I love a good glass of wine (or two). We asked our server for his recommendation, and he was spot on, as it complimented the meal perfectly. Everyone in my party was very happy with their selection. You also get plenty for what you pay for, there was no way I could finish my whole meal, so I had the other half for lunch the next day (and it was just as good). Now for dessert ... we had the Tiramisu, and let me tell you ... it was gone in less than 10 seconds, lol. I couldn't believe my eyes, went for a second bite and it was gone! It was that good! In fact one of my friends didn't even get a chance to dig in, lol, it was that good! So we ordered another. Another thing that I really liked about this place, is that the owner came out and greeted us, and made sure that everything was as expected. That's awesome! There aren't many places anymore where you get to meet the owner, and see that they actually care about you the customer. They work hard to make sure that their customers are satisfied and this another reason to add 5 more stars if I could! So my recommendation, definitely try out Dolce Vita!!! You won't be dissapointed!
(5)Christian S.
Nice atmosphere. There was a problem with the menu, but otherwise the service was good. The food is average hence the three stars. Room for improvement but also not a disappointment.
(3)OMARA G.
I don't know about 5 stars???Maybe theres a stellar chef @ night but lunch is FAR from fabulous. I've given Dolce Vita 3 chances to win me over, mostly because I work very close and I would love for it to be a convenient choice for lunch, but after this past visit I'm afraid that I'm done trying. 1st time I order the chopped salad and that was probably the least appetizing salad I've ever had. It was made of low grade deli meats, cheeses and large hunks of tomatoes, on a wilted variety bed of lettuce. The italian dressing was oily and lacked flavor. Keeping hope alive I thought "well maybe salads aren't their specialty, I'll try pasta next time!" 2nd visit I ordered the pasta primavera, sounded simple enough and a sure opportunity to "WOW" ... NOPE the veggies used weren't very "italian" or fresh for that matter and the chicken was as dry as toast. which brings me to the 3rd and last visit... A few Co-workers (who hadn't been) suggested trying somewhere new, and decided on going to Dolce Vita, I hadn't returned in about a year so I didn't want to sway the group just in case NOW they'd gotten more delicious. So on this particular Friday we stroll in bubbly with hunger and joy because we were FREE from the office only to find 2 other couples in an otherwise empty space that may I add DIDN'T smell like food when we first walked in(first sign of potential dissatisfaction). Ordered at the table was spaghetti with meatsauce, antipasti salad and I ordered the baked chicken over penne pasta. All of us were dissatisfied with the selections. The marinara sauce was sweet and was not fresh, the Antipasti salad had the same low grade and stale meat, and the chicken although covered over in sweet tomatoe sauce and cheese was STILL dry,(how is that possible)?? In this location this restaurant could have really good traffic and repeat customers especially with all the surrounding businesses in the area but now I realize why there was only 2 in restaurant...the menu needs to refreshed and Restaurant Impossible needs to come through and make this place shine! I really hope a renovation is in this restaurants future.

My husband and I tried out Dolce Vita tonight. We were a little wary because the reviews seem to sway only one way or another (no middle ground). We were pleasantly suprised. There aren't a lot of nice sit-down restaurants this far east, and this one easily takes the cake for a good date night. It was quiet (we were a while ahead of a normal dinner rush) and clean. Our server was very attentive and helpful, especially with my request for a non-alcoholic "special" drink--I tried the carbonated lemonade, and it was good. I zeroed right in on the Bruschetta el Greco as an appetizer and was not disappointed--large chunks of tasty tomatoes, crumbled feta cheese, black olives and oregano topping a large pizza-sliced piece of garlic bread. Once we were finished with that, the server offered to put the leftover toppings in a box--totally going to make some garlic bread at home to finish it off. We then got bread (olive oil and fresh ground pepper to taste to dip in), my husband got his salad, and I got the complimentary pasta salad, which has a pleasant little kick to it. I was doing my best not to dig in, but everything was tasting good, so it was hard not to finish. For our entrees, hubs got the manicotti and I got the veal parmigiana. They easily let me substitute alfredo on my pasta choice (linguini). We're not food critics, but we thought everything tasted great. Dinner was piping hot, all the pasta was cooked nice and tender, my water glass was never empty, and dirty dishes never sat on the table. We had to box a good portion of our dinners. The server then brought around the dessert tray and I could not pass up the chocolate tort. It was so good even my husband got in on it, and he's not a sweets person, especially for rich chocolate. For what we got (hubs had a couple beers), I considered the price right. Overall it was a nice experience, and we will be apt to go again.

My family went here for New Year's Eve this year, and the food and service were wonderful as usual. I had the baked ziti, a salad, and a fried zucchini appetizer, all of which were excellent. The real standout on this particular evening was our server, who deserves something between a gold star and a purple heart. My family & our family friends (ok, mostly our family friends) can be shockingly annoying in restaurants, and our server's graciousness and resistance to the urge to poison any of them can only be described as heroic, and was very much appreciated. More than once, I have left a restaurant after a family gathering feeling somewhat traumatized and pretending that I left something at the table so I can sneak an extra $20+ into the check presenter, but this was BAD. My uncle & grandmother begin nipping at each other within the first ten minutes. Another guest asks for "the cheapest" red wine (oh my god!!!). I chug a glass of something decent. Grandma's friend consistently yaps for more bread. Worse, she had 40 minutes to look over the menu (which is very descriptive, BTW) while we waited for my ever late & inconsiderate father and his wife to arrive, yet asked this poor guy to describe at least eight of their dishes in detail while simultaneously dealing with my grandmother shouting out "Sheila, you hate spicy food!". While he's going around the table, playing a similar game with a few more people who neglected to simply read the menu, she starts yapping for more bread and Diet Coke. The bread baskets are NOT empty, nor is her soda, and this guy has already spent 25 minutes without leaving the table, attempting to take our order. We are only a 10-top. I want to die. A few minutes after I arrive, I slip him $30 and ask him to rush my entree, as I have to go and serve a New Year's Eve party myself at 8:30. The $30 is not for my meal, mind you, but extra tip. He tells me it's not necessary, but I inform him that he's definitely going to earn it, and to make sure that if he was even remotely on the fence as to whether or not he should add a gratuity, he now knows that he should dive right off of it and grat the check as high as management will let him. He gets my food out within 20 minutes, and by this time, has a pretty keen understanding of our earlier conversation. I know those "help me" eyes all too well, young man, and I've done what I could. I leave for work, unsure of what else they'll do to the guy, and feeling a little guilty about it. Surprisingly, all of my family members and their friends arrived home in one piece that night, without any suspicious intestinal issues. Thank you, Dolce Vita server, for keeping your cool - while dining with them is often a complete horror show, I really do love most of them, most of the time ;)

I highly recommend Dolce Vita because it is thee booomb! I swear it's like my mother was in the kitchen cooking and bringing my food out to the dinner table! Well, it's not my mom, but I think it's a very similar situation because there was a lady coming out of the kitchen with an apron greeting the diners every so often. Seems like a very homey, well-run place where the owners and staff know their regulars by name. The wait staff was very pleasant and efficient, and all our food came out in a timely manner. My friend who had been there a few times before said that pretty much everything on the menu was amazing, but that he really loved their creamy feta garlic dressing. So, naturally, I decided to try it and boy was it tasty! I also loved that the dnner came with a choice of soup or salad, a side of homemade bread and dipping oil, and a small side of complimentary pasta! I ordered the stuffed salmon special which was delicious and my friend ordered a veal dish which was topped with Kasseri cheese...DOUBLE AMAZING! Of course, by the end of the meal we were totally stuffed but we had to try their Tiramisu, which my friend swore by. I thought I could not possibly fall in love with another thing on their menu, but let me tell you ....I did. Dolce Vita's Tiramisu was off the hook! I don't usually like Tiramisu, so I was hesitant to even try it cause i was so stuffed....but it was like they made it especially for me. It had just the right balance of coffee liquor and cream....usually don't like Tiramisu cause it's too soggy and coffee tasting...but omg, this was amazing! I was soo full that I could only take a few bites...but I'll tell you one thing for sure...I was definitely dreaming of it that night and was wishing I had it with me to eat the rest of it at home! Long story short, I will DEFINITELY com back to Dolce Vita!! Oh, and by the way....I think they also have a full bar inside....that's always a plus;)

After reading all of the reviews, I decided that I wanted to give Dolce Vita a try. Before I drove all the way across town for lunch I figured that I should call to make sure that they were open. I mentioned that I found the restaurant through yelp and was just calling for their hours. The man on the phone screamed at me and said "the website says no phone calls" and hung up on me?!

I'm always pleased when I leave. The food is great, the prices are reasonable, the decor is relaxing, the atmosphere is quiet, and the bruschetta is one of the main reasons I keep coming back. There is hardly ever a wait to get in, which is surprising since the food is so good.

Sorry to have to disagree but I had a less than stellar meal there yesterday. 4 of us went to dinner and we were the first diners of the evening. Bread was flavorless and bland, the pasta salad was not good. We ordered the fried calimari and it was overcooked and chewy. I had the escargot and it tasted canned. The shrimp scampi dinner and pasta primavera were good but the pasta dish with chicken had dry, overcooked chicken. Dinner salads were ok, crisp iceberg with some cucumber, although one diner thought they were watery. Overall it was hit or miss but leaning on the miss side, I won't go back.
