It's been 15 years since I last ate at this restaurant. Luckily, it's still as good as I remembered. We arrived in Tucson by airplane and wanted to eat at our former local favorite restaurant, so we made the trek. It was well worth our time. I had the Herby Turkey on a garlic bagel - delicious! Too bad I haven't found a Brueggar's Bagels in Sierra Vista yet. We will definitely return during one of our future trips to Tucson. Love this restaurant. Watch out in the shopping center parking lot though - it is not laid out very well.

We only have of these in Phoenix, so when we are in Tucson, we always grab breakfast and stock up on bagels here. The bagels are really good. Nice and chewy, not too doughy or bready. They freeze well, just ask to have them sliced first. Coffee is just okay, the egg sandwiches are good, lunch sandwiches are kind of mediocre. -1 star for coffee, -1 star for the lunch. Bagels 4.5 stars!

Overpriced average bagels and very average coffee....Nothing to bring me back here. And several old timers loudly complaining about the plot of Hispanics against Romney!

If it's not boiled then baked, it's not a bagel, thankfully Bruegger's does bagels right. Love the Salmon Lox breakfast bagel. Now if they would carry Savaya Coffee!

Totally solid like every one of their locations. Fresh bagels, friendly staff, quick service and hot coffee. What else is there in a bagel place? I really like the new breakfast choices with Siracha sauce!

Food is ok but service is horrible every time, the kids act like they are doing you a favor to wait on you, never been in here that this was not the attitude

I just have to say, I don't usually want to get online before i eat my food but, I just had a really good experience there. The person who made my bagel Jamie was awesome! He was super polite and knew how to have a conversation. I would go back for sure just because of that awesome example of customer service. The bagels are killer too but service makes the food that much more enjoyable. Thanks Jamie. I'll be back

***CLICHE ALERT*** "If you are not from the east coast, then you have not experienced a bagel." I'm sorry - I have pity in my fat heart for you. I want to stand on the corner of Tanque Verde for you, taking up a collection, holding up a sign that says "Not broke, just want my readers to have a good bagel - anything will help - God Bless" in black magic marker over cardboard. If I collect enough, before I send you to New York to experience a real bagel, I might embezzle some of the funds and settle on a bagel at Brueggers. This Brueggers, tucked inconspicuously in the corner of a Safeway, an Ace Hardware, a Costcutters (and whatever other business can squeeze an inch in over there), offers quaint, quiet, and lots of seating. They open earlier than I will ever wake up and close at 5 or 530. They are usually clean, though later in the day there is a crumb or twelve leftover from previous New York bagel day-dreamers. They have variety - blueberry, pumperpenny (it's almost pumpernickel), onion, garlic, breakfast bagels, and several different types of cream cheese. SURPRISE! They run out of crap as the day progresses. On the short subject of breakfast bagels: -their eggs are a notch BELOW McDonalds eggs, dear day dreamer. Their salmon bagel is actually decent, especially at $6 bucks, with capers and tomato and onions - as reasonable as it gets. Although, I wouldn't blame you for not trusting a salmon bagel for only $6, but it really is decent. Their soft drink prices, coffee prices, OJ prices and the flatness and wateriness of the OJ - all mirror that of New York prices, which is unfair. And the help used to be very friendly here - only Heather is left from that friendly crowd, the rest are MEH. 3 stars, until yelp offers a 1-10 scale, in which case you would get a 6. In the mean time, I've got to get back to panhandling.

I stop by Bruegger's whenever I'm in the area and need some lunch. My usual is the "Leonardo da Veggie" (herb cream cheese, muenster, lettuce, tomato, and roasted red peppers) on a sesame bagel, untoasted. Best veggie-wich EVER, and I'm definitely a carnivore! Their plain bagels are great as well; a manager at a previous job would bring a bag of bagels into the office on Fridays, much to our delight. Sun-dried tomato with veggie cream cheese is super yummy! It's a little out of my way, but definitely worth the drive for something different than the average sandwich shop!

After a long run or ride, sometimes nothing hits the spot like a bagel and some OJ. This particular Breugger's is nice- they have a lot of nice outdoor seating and the line moves quickly. Their bagels aren't too tough, but I'm picky and like my bagels softer, but my NY native friends really enjoy Breugger's, if that means anything. I enjoy their lunch sandwiches- I had a really good turkey/cheddar on whole wheat with fresh veggies. Good stuff. Their lite garden veggie cream cheese is really good too. I'm not too impressed with their prices and their orange juice is inconsistent. Sometimes it tastes fresh, other times it looks separated (water on top, OJ concentrate on bottom). Not too appealing. However, Breugger's is a great place to go for a good bagel when you're really craving it!
