American restaurants also serve veggie burgers for those who don't relish meat. Cheeseburgers are also hot favorite in the United States.

I had a avocado bacon burger with frys and it was amazing. They dressed it up really nice and served it in a way i wish i had taken a picture but i was hungry and it smelled too good. Also had a bloody Mary that went so well with it. So worth the price of around 12$ all together

Average food, average atmosphere. I went on lunch break and wanted to try something new and opted for this place. I don't remember much of what I got, but I do remember it was good. Not great, not bad, just pretty average. Not cheap though, so I'm not going to be returning any time soon. If you want a burger I would suggest going to Graze which is just north of this place, or if you want a hot dog to just grab a Sonoran dog at any nearby Mexican drive-thru.

Bob Dobbs makes one of my favorite burgers in Tucson. This little neighborhood sports bar has been around for ages yet stays much the same, to my delight and joy. I confess, I haven't given the rest of the menu much of a chance. But when you've tried something truly amazing, why not keep coming back again and again for a perfectly-seasoned cheeseburger with a side of home-made potato salad? (And a Guinness). I would have to be a damned fool. So anyway, the World Famous Bob's Burger is where it's at. It is juicy, perfectly seasoned with a blend of garlic, soy, and Worcestershire sauce. I get it done medium and it never disappoints. They have Havarti cheese for your burger (gold star). Yes, the potato salad is awesome, order that. I do like the wings. The gazillion tv screens in such a small space definitely screams divey sports bar, but there's nothing wrong with that. It's the Bob Dobbs charm, and I'm into it.
(4)Abner S.
Outstanding food and good service. Very close to U of A. Many college students and regular customers as well. Various TV screens to view. Close to other restaurants if it gets too busy.

I'm not a bar person in general. Bob Dobbs doesn't have the right atmosphere for me and looks a bit dilapidated for my taste. My party of four opted for the balcony seats and a guy was smoking on the table right next to ours. Definitely not my scene. The menu was not my thing, either. I was picking through the items and found the descriptions not particularly appetizing -- "Hooter Sandwich," "ripe tomato," "ripe avocado"? When I was miserably anticipating an inedible meal, my order of half "ripe" avocado sandwich and beef rice soup came. Pleasantly surprised. SOOO Much better than what I could imagine. Yes, I would come here again for the food.

Stopped by Bob Dobbs after landing in Tucson for a drink before dinner. I might be a bit biased coming from LA, but the prices were phenomenal- a beer and a G&T were only $6.50! (I was expecting triple that!) They didn't have a huge selection, but there were bout 5 beers on tap to choose from (I had the Four Peaks Kilt Lifter, which was great. The other options were basically Sierra Nevada, Blue Moon, Bud Light, and Coors, so not quite as exciting). A nice addition is the free baskets of [very salty] peanuts to snack on while you enjoy your drink! This seems like it would be great place for someone going alone or with a group to grab a drink or come and watch a game, and if I were hanging out in the area, I'd come back!

I've been patronizing this business for years. What do I love about it? 1. Nice, cozy patio. It's nothing fancy. Just basic wooden picnic benches. 2. Amazing wings. Get the wings. I like the ones that aren't slathered in sauce. 3. Great prices. No, seriously. You can get a full meal with about $10. 4. Reliable service. 5. Feel good space with sprawling writings all over the place. Fun reading. 6. Parking is always available either along the curb on Sixth Street, or in the rear. I find that the burgers are consistent and on point. Never have I had an over or undercooked burger. Their fries are the right width and length and without being over-seasoned. And I find that the service is generally attentive and swift. And my absolute favorite? To visit on a cool night, early in the evening, just as dusk is setting in. Grab a seat on that gorgeous patio, which has a TV, but is never obnoxiously loud. And enjoy the conversation and good eats as the sun sets.
(4)Chris W.
Great staff where they'll remember your order. They have good drinks and clientele. The wings and burgers are both really good.
(5)Max F.
Timeless classic. The bobs famous burger is always great. Good beer selection and plenty of tvs to watch the game.

Burgers are exceptional!! The fried zucchini was also delicious. Service was a little slow

Came down to UofA Homecoming and decided to pop into Bob Dobbs. It was one of my friend's favorite spots to go to when we were in college, so we decided to reminisce about the good old days there. I have to say, after all these years, Bob Dobbs is still a pretty great place to go. We went on a Saturday night so there was karaoke going on all night, and believe me, the crowd was INTO IT!! Everyone was singing and laughing; the atmosphere was so light and free that you couldn't help but to belt along with the crowd. Even better, drinks are cheap!! I think a pitcher of a Northern Californian beer ran us $9/pitcher (4 glasses - a little over $2 a piece is a steal!). The only pitfalls are 1) the food sucks, but you don't come to a place like this for the food, so I shouldn't be surprised; and 2) there are only 2 unisex bathrooms, so after a full night of college kids (and alumni) boozing, the bathrooms are less than to be desired. However, the atmosphere is so chill that you can't help but to have a good time here so I definitely plan to make another pit-stop into the Dobbs next time I am in Tucson :)

Great drink specials, great staff, cheap (and very edible) HH food and free peanuts. What more could you ask for
(5)Shae S.
Aggressive? Type A personality? Hardcore go-getter? If you like a good old fashioned challenge, then this is your place. If you aren't practically assaulting the bartender, you're not so much as going to get a second glance. The staff here could use a class or ten in customer service. I've been coming here for five years (it's in my hood) and there are new faces almost every month, but for some reason, the only thing that changes is the menu. Speaking of food, the chicken nachos here are the real deal. They give you a nice large serving - with real cheese and everything. This is a no Velveeta zone. Surprisingly, they dish up some awesome salads too. The Apple and Havarti Salad is delish. Be sure to get everything you want when you first place your order. You're on your own after that. Tonight I went home hungry and pissed, which sadly, isn't unusual. Ish.
(3)Tom S.
Cold beer, good food and friendly bartenders. I had the Cobb salad for lunch which was plentiful & very filling. My friends had enjoyed the signature half pound burgers in which he felt was cooked to perfection and tasty. Not fancy but hey, good beer and good food is what it's about. Be casual and be comfortable.
(4)May P.
Game day mad house. If there are many games going on that night, multiple tvs will be on for your entertainment. They are not very speedy with their service so you sit down for like 10 mins without being served; bare with it. I had the Portabella Mushroom Sandwich which was like a Portabella Burger. Along side, you can choose a side and I chose hand cut fries. They were not the best fries in town but they were pretty okay. The fans in this place keeps the vibe in this sports bar alive!!!
(4)Leah B.
Great neighborhood bar. Karaoke on Saturday. great beers on tap. although its a Chicago Bears bar- besides that 5 stars for a local dive!
(4)Ciera L.
Not impressed with their food but great, cheap drinks. Your typical dive bar but a neighborhood hangout. Great place to have a drink and watch the game at!
(3)Tracy L.
Three stars due to the burger coming out Well done, not medium rare as I asked for, old the onion rings were way way way over done. Plus the other people who ordered burgers and fries were disappointed because their fries were overdone. Dagit... really? Seems like almost every time we go out the food sucks. So disappointed. The pictures I took do not look like the ones I saw on internet. :(
(3)Jeff H.
Good Bar food. Good outdoor seating. Reasonable prices. A suitable candidate for Dives, Diners, and Drive-ins.
(4)Ts B.
What a change, never going back.
(1)Liz P.
Love this place! Standard bar food but never disappointed. Karaoke Saturdays, friendly bartenders, great atmosphere. Good place to watch a U of A game, all neighborhood fans.
(5)Marina M.
This is such a great little neighborhood type bar. I like that it's pretty chill. Don't come here expecting to rage. There is a nice patio with TVs if that's your sort of thing. The bartenders are nice and recognize their repeat offenders (they stopped asking me for ID after a while) which means they pay attention to who steps in. The drinks and prices are good. There is always a couple of good beers on tap (Pacifico FTW). The food is aight- their sandwiches and homemade chips are pretty good. The clientele can be interesting, as with many places in Tucson. When I'm not in the mood for 4th or downtown but still down for a good drink, this is my place.
(4)Saba B.
I heard Bob Dobb's had gotten a little facelift, and we checked it out for happy hour this week. Besides the lack of restroom poetry, it was the same diehard U of A fringe old school hangout. We might or might not have brought a sharpie. I love that these guys welcome pooches, and the food is always tasty although greasy. My partner gave our server a twenty to settle up, though, and she never came back. We asked another server, and she said our total was $21.87. The other server had just taken off with our cash, and the second one didn't seem at all surprised. She had already charged our card with the full total again, and had to reverse the charge. Hmmm, a little shady.

If you're looking for big comfortable couches, trendy decor, drinks that fizzle and pop, and DJs spinning the latest Chris Brown track, die in a fire. This is a neighborhood bar. The service is going to be neighborly the first time you go. If you show up a few times, eventually you'll know the names of many of the regulars, all of the bartenders and servers, and they'll know yours too. They will treat you better than any bar on Congress or 4th, you'll be privy to the best Reuben Sandwich in the Old Pueblo and if you're lucky...they'll even switch one of the many TVs over to some obscure channel that is showing your team win and/or embarrass you again. The sandwiches are great, the burgers are great, and the beer is always cold. The service is friendly and prompt. I'm not reviewing a doctor here...so if you're looking for more than that, I will kindly remind you that this is a corner bar...give them a shot. They'll earn your loyalty. Go after a long day of hiking, after work has you at wits end or when your team is playing. If you want to have a conversation about sports with someone that isn't going to just regurgitate what the guys on SportsCenter said the night before, this is your bar. If you want, or feel that you need more than that, skip it and go to Playground.
(4)Kamryn C.
Bob Dobb's is a great neighborhood bar. The food is pretty standard bar food, and the drinks are cheap. They have karaoke on Saturday night, which was awesome. The place was basically empty when I went, so it felt like being in a private karaoke room!
(5)Mark A.
This perennial favorite that I often forget about except when i am thinking excellent burger and fries. Through the years of living here I have eaten, a least 50 burgers here, always order the same thing a Bob Dobb and fries. My friend Larry lived a couple of doors down and we would come by about every other Sunday for years, Larry died of cancer a couple of years ago and it has been hard to go back, but I am glad I have. I come with different friends, and have a burger for my good friend Larry.
(4)Joaquin N.
The food's not bad at all, I definitely recommend the Bob Burger. The service is another story. While our server wasn't necessarily rude, she wasn't very welcoming either. We never got her name, and when we asked for a high chair, she pointed to the corner of the room and said "yeah, over there. Just grab one" and walked off. I dig that this is primarily a neighborhood bar, but courtesy goes a long way. We'll probably be back.
(3)Patrick S.
Sometimes you gotta love the simple things in life. They put out a good burger here. No frills. I added an egg because I was still in the mood for breakfast. Ordered burger and egg medium and both came out just right. Sunday morning regulars seemed to be getting their juices rolling. Wasn't exactly speedy but not slow enough to complain. The brinksmanship came out quick ;)

Bob Dobbs will always be my favorite place in Tucson. The wings, the burgers and the memories of watching every UofA sport success since I can remember. It was the place to go when the Wildcats were playing and you always knew there would be a house full of Wildcats cheering louder than everyone at the stadium. They have the best wings ever! They are smokey, not too much sauce and their ranch is literally finger licking good. The Bob's Burger is my favorite and my husbands is the Porcupine. It's place that no matter if it is your first or 500th visit someone will always greet you with a smile. I will never forget coming here right after a wedding that served terrible food wearing my wedding garb and having a patron jokingly say sorry, its reservations only. The barkeep laughed and goes, the usual? Oh! Before I forget, the chili. The Chili! How could I forget, when its cold and rainy or on the rare occasion it snows, I order a giant bowl of chili - which is extra hot (temperature, not spicy), carefully transport it home and devour it in front of my fireplace.

We needed a change of lunchtime scenery, so set out specifically to experience Bob Dobbs. Thinking it was more of a pub, it's really more of a bar with a small grill in the back for pub-like fare. Signatures from parties past are scrawled all over the inside of the place. Aerosmith was playing overhead and there were one or two local-types drinking lunch beers. Not a lot of lunchy patrons. No booths, just picnicky style tables with benches and barstools. We sat on the patio and ordered 2 Bob Burgers. Double patty, fresh soft bun with a side of fries. I'm glad we got the chili up-charge on the fries because I think all alone they would have been too soggy & greasy but, the baby didn't seem to mind them plain! I have to say, 4 stars goes to the place instead of 3 because of the burgers being cooked to a proper medium. Still soft & pink in the middle, just like we ordered them. The iced tea, however, tasted like coffee on accounta' being brewed in the same pots, I gather. Anyways, it's a bar. But, they do make a good burger! And if you want patio dining get there before the summer cranks up. I thought the space heaters were on but it was just the canopy radiating the prehistoric Arizona heat onto us.
(4)Lauren K.
Eh, Bob Dobbs is ok. We went here based on Yelp reviews and other recommendations, and I feel like we were led a bit astray. We were mostly looking for dinner, not really drinks, but we commonly go to restaurant/bars for this and it's generally just fine. At Bob Dobbs, though, it really seems that they don't particularly care to serve you food. Just sit at the bar and drink. Or leave. Well, anyway, we decided to stay and eat. The waitress didn't say hello, or tell us her name, she just asked what we wanted to drink. Someone else brought the drinks to us. Again, we didn't learn his name. The waitress came back and took our food order. This was some of the coldest service we've had in a while. Not outright rude, just totally disinterested, cold, and miserable. My husband had a cheeseburger, well, two cheeseburgers (more on that later), and I had a french dip sandwich. Both with fries. I also ordered a White Russian. The kitchen took quite a while to get the food out, which seems surprising given the fact that I'm pretty sure all of the food is some sort of frozen. My french dip was decent. The meat was pretty tender and flavorful. The au jus was among the most seasoned that I've had. The bread was ok, but could have been a little softer. Overall, though, I would eat this again, though I certainly am not craving it. My husband's Bob Dobbs burger was another story. What was on the plate was a bun with two mini cheeseburger patties on it. They had to partially stack on top of one another to spread across the bun. If they went right on top of one another, then at least half of the surface area of the bun would have been wasted (unless you enjoy just eating bread sandwiches). But if they sat flat next to each other, they would peek pretty far over the sides of the bun. What in the world were they thinking with this? It was sloppy and just stupid. He also ordered it medium, and it came out so well done, that it was absolutely dry and miserable to eat. He reluctantly added a lot of mustard to it to be able to eat it. Oh, and that mustard bottle, as well as the ketchup bottle, are the refillable type. When the restaurant refills them, they might want to wipe them down once in a while. They were sorta nasty. And that bun? It was pretty stale. Overall, do not order this burger, it is ridiculously not good. The fries were decent, much better than a lot of other places in town. Not a homerun, but definitely edible. But again with that ketchup bottle. Gross. Ugh. My White Russian was just a standard White Russian. Nothing special to see here. A little pricey, though. The restaurant itself was pretty boring, even if they do let people foul up their walls with stupid sayings. The bar is the focal point in the center. It's very dark in there, but that didn't bother me. Some of the surfaces in the restaurant were a little grungy, which did bother me. Clean up a little bit. You serve food. Meh. There were also two really loud younger women at the bar. It was barely 5pm and they were plastered and hanging off of all the old men in the place. It was a little strange to see 20-something women being rowdy and drunk with 60 year old men. Who all had wedding rings on. Just a weird atmosphere. Anyway, if someone we knew wanted to go here, I certainly would go. But I don't think we'll choose it ourselves again. There are plenty of other places that serve better food, are cleaner, and have much friendlier and pleasant staff.

2/23/13 We were wandering around the neighborhood, looking for lunch, before shopping and ended up in Bob Dobb's and we're glad we did! U of A bball game was on several TVs and other games were on too. And one of the bartenders is a Minnesota Vikings fan so I'll be back to watch football in the fall! I had the world famous Bob burger, double cheese burger. Well seasoned, well cooked. Just the right amount of greasy to taste great! Hubby had the green chili and gouda burger and he loved it. We shared an order of onion rings which also disappeared. This place was quite a find for us! When we want a good burger in a great atmosphere, we'll be back here!! Yum!
(4)Brad H.
With hamburgers fast becoming a culinary specialty and chains like Smashburger, The Habit, and Five Guys fighting it out for the title, I'd still argue that my standard for an excellent burger remains the Bob Burger and I've eaten plenty of them over the years. In fact, I was once a regular in this place and I have no doubt that I could return to Tucson today and still run into people I know here. Bob Dobbs - it's truly the Cheers of Tucson.
(5)Jennifer D.
I was meeting a friend for lunch at Rincon Market and realized that Bob's was there and we decided why not lets do lunch here instead. We sat outside on their patio since it was a very lovely day. The only down side was that too many cars pass by during the lunch our and you can't really have a great conversation. The waitress was very quick and fast in getting our drinks and food. I had ordered a pastrami sandwich which was really good. The only down side was their mustard and ketchup bottles were in the classic color plastic containers, and they clearly didn't look like they had been wipe off in a few months so I kind of felt that i was a little unsanitary.
(3)Amanda K.
Chill patio, good food, and cheap drinks? Yep, I'm a fan! My friend and I both got cobb salads, and it was wonderful. Service was great, and our beers were on special. All in all, it was a great dinner!
(4)Alex C.
I want to love this place. I've been some two dozen times. The location is great and the patio is nice. The reason I cannot like this place is the consistency in bad service and mediocre food. Plus they raised their food prices but that's not my issue. It's just tiring being ignored and unappreciated.
(2)Jessica H.
Peanut shells on the floor, carved up park tables and benches, and writing all over the walls and ceiling. This is my kind of dive bar! Did I mention the burgers? Holy cow, the burgers. First of all, they use some secret Worcestershire sauce thing that just makes these burgers mind blowing. I wish I could share more about the atmosphere, or the waitstaff, but I was too content carving my name in our table and enjoying my burger to concentrate on my surroundings. I will say we got free candy on Halloween, and I love candy.
(4)Madison R.
Bob Dobbs is my jam. I love walking down at night to get a beer and burger on the patio! They have the best fries. I also highly recommend the turkey and havarti sandwich. Never had a bad experience!
(5)C B.
They are a local dive but they have some class (aka not gross). There are baskets of peanuts for people to enjoy, their kitchen is open late (good food), and they accept all major credit cards (including Amex).
(4)Stephanie S.
The french dip with a side of fries is my go-to meal at this local diner. I also dig the free peanuts when I'm in the mood for a drink sans meal. The service though? Ehh, the kitchen is pretty slow and the servers aren't the friendliest. I wouldn't drive across town for this place, but if you live in the neighborhood, it is a decent place to grab a bite, have a drink, or meet friends.
(3)Alma B.
You know that feeling you get when you go to a bar that tends to have a lot of regulars, and as soon as an unknown walks in they look at you like you are an intruder, in THEIR bar. Well you DON'T get that feeling here. The bartender was awesome! The cook was awesome, hell even the "regular" there was awesome. Here is the best part, their food is not crappy, well except for the mini chimis, but that probably is more of a idon'tlikecumminissue than them being crappy. Overall great bar to hang out at.
(5)Dan D.
So I have been in Tucson for almost a year and I pass this place all the time and I have wanted to stop in. Finally went here for dinner tonight. This place is a hole in the wall, and sort of gross inside, exactly what I expected and wanted it to be. The restaurant was very clean, but the magic marker on the walls gives the appearance of a dive bar. I compare it to an upscale Buffet (on 9th St) with better food. We sat outside and it was really nice. They have two patios that connect to the small inside bar and it was pretty busy on the Friday night that we came. The crowd was rambunctious in my opinion but I kind of liked that everyone was getting along and the music wasn't overbearing. It would be a nice place to hit up for happy hour in the future. The only problem was I think we were the youngest people in the place (at 26 and 24) by a good 20 years. I don't mind that I just got a kick out of it. The people at the table behind us on the patio at one point started yelling at one of their friends in a passing car on 6th street. Everyone was having a good time. Me and my friend both ordered the dinner special (which on this occasion was Baja Fish Tacos). It was mediocre at best but it was good food and they gave you a pretty generous portion. The other dinner special was fried clams which I might also want to try. Overall, I was happy with my experience here, I would come back again when I am in the mood for a good pub burger or something on that level. Don't expect fancy or real nice, but the wait staff is friendly, the food was decent and the beer was flowing.
(3)Jennifer B.
Make no mistake, this place is a total dive. What keeps me coming back is that it's just a short walk from our place and the fact that I can throw my peanut shells on the ground, not like I would or anything ... ;) I either get the Kiltlifter or the Blue Moon on tap. I've had their food once before, although I really can't remember it, if that's any indication of how good it was. Maybe I should try their burgers, though ... I hear they have a reputation. Not sure I fit in with the regulars, but I like to sit outside with a beer and some peanuts and do my own thing.
(3)Jen C.
My husband and I went to the Bob Dobb's for a late lunch before taking in a movie. We'd never been before and heard it's one of "the" places to go while in Tucson. When we arrived at 430 on Saturday afternoon, the place was wide open for seating. There is bar, table, and patio seating available. We were surprised it was such a small space. There were several others drinking in high spirits, U of A graduation was that night and celebration was starting early. The walls, tables, and even ceiling are covered with handwritten notes. It's fun to read them all and there are definitely some conversation starters there. Service wasn't super great, it wasn't super bad, either. Our waitress might have been new, or maybe she's worked there for years. It's hard to guess if her lack of interest was apathy or confusion. Husband had the Bob burger (7.50) two 8 oz patties with cheese and a side of fries. I had the avocado, tomato, lettuce sandwich on sourdough with fries (6.50.) We each had two draft beers ($4 each). The tap selection wasn't great, wasn't bad either. Lots of Sam Adam's, Blue Moon, and Bud and Bud light. The beer was good, but hey, isn't it always. The food was mediocre. The burger didn't taste like meat, it tasted like grease. Clearly they aren't using the highest quality of ingredients here, but hey, it wasn't bad either. My sandwich was tasty and all the veggies were the right color. I was actually surprised at the quality of the vegetables. The fries were the stars of the show. A huge mound of them each (way more then either of us could eat individually.) The fries were hot fresh and unseasoned. We made a considerable dent in them. Over all Bob Dobb's is what it's suppose to be; a funky student hang out with cheap eats and beer. If I were 10 years younger I'll bet I'd be a regular. As it stands, in my 30's, I want better quality service, drinks, and food and I'm willing to pay a bit extra to get it.
(3)Carmine C.
We keep looking for a Burger that beats the Connie Burger. It doesn't exist. We went all the way to Flagstaff ,trying the famous Diablo Burger. It was very good, but more $$. Pitchers of beer and peanuts ! What a dive Bar!
(5)Josh H.
I went here last night. I liked it, my fiance didn't. Bob Dobbs' is exactly what it is, a cozy little college bar. Everyone was friendly, the prices weren't bad, and the burgers taste like my dad's.
(4)Jennifer W.
Bob Dobbs is the neighborhood bar. Outside seating. Good people watching. People as in old time regulars sitting around the bar, some of the U of A coaches, and basically people of all ages. Kids and dogs welcome. NIce bartenders and waitresses. And you can write on the bathroom walls.
(4)Justin R.
Simply The Dobbs. Watched many away Arizona basketball games while enjoying cheap pitchers of Blue Moon I think. Great bar for all ages, owner sometimes will either offer you free jaeger bombs, or just simply call you a pansy and take one right in your face. Great burgers as well. A must hit spot for UA students.
(5)Maximiliano L.
Bob Dobb's is one of my favorite bars in Tucson. It never gets to busy and has a good location. They have good drink deals and a really good bar menu. The burgers here are great. It is a very casual environment and the service is very good.
(4)Stephanie H.
Good place to watch games. Kind of an older crowd of neighborhood regulars. Fried clams on Fridays!
(4)Wes B.
Great burgers, the bob is delicious! Black&tan is my drink here, although they have a great selection Good friendly atmosphere.
(4)Rena B.
I loved the Turkey on rye. The jack and coke was very generous and the atmosphere was fun.

A sleazy bar in a college town should earn at least six stars. Not here, however, they can't even be good at being bad. So this is a joke because there can be no other explanation - on a recent week day evening this writer tried to order two pints of beer and was told that there were no more clean glasses. The suggestion to wash then to the incompetent begin the bar was greeted with amazed indifference. As if it was unreasonable to ask for clean glasses and how about a plastic glass instead he offered? What a good idea and how about if I don' t pay you?

Um....wow. This place has the best burger I have had in a very long time, Maybe ever. The beer selection isn't anything fancy but what they do have hits the spot. I am always a fan of Guinness on tap. The menu promises the Bob to have garlic, Worcestershire and soy sauce. Every flavor can be tasted in every bite without overwhelming the taste of the juicy beef. Add some mayo, onions, tomato and lettuce and you're in juice running down your arm heaven. This burger is not for the faint of heart! Keep your pantie hose at home because you will get messy. The staff were very friendly and attentive, however, the patrons were a little sketch. It shouldn't bother you if you don't mind hearing right wing bullshit. It was 5 o' clock on a Friday, so I expect the hardcore alcoholics are gone by the time more open minded youngsters start to come in.

After the Hawkeyes got beat by a better U of A team this weekend I really wasn't feeling like getting heckled by anymore Wildcats fans, but my friend convinced me to stop by and have a beer with him. Reluctantly I agreed and I'm glad I did. This place was far enough off the beaten path that no one was rude or mean, just eager to smile and give me a slap on the back, saying "good game!" The beer was cheap and the service fast and friendly. Didn't partake in any food but some of the people we were with did and it all looked good. Overall it was a great, chill place to hang my head after a thorough beating.

First visit, probably my last. No one checked on our table for an extensive period of time. Then when I approached the bar the process for payment and getting a drink lasted an eternity. BTW the regulation head on a Guinness is 1/2 inch, mine consistently had one full inch. There was a U of A game on TV but it was no where close to full. There was no excuse for the lack luster performance by the staff.

You don't need to belong to a country club when you are a member of the Dobb's club! This classic old style neighborhood sports bar is located just down the street from the University of Arizona's (UofA) Bear Down Stadium and Mckale Center. It's a renowned UofA sports gathering spot...before, during and after games. Bob Dobbs is home away from home, where you will always find your closest friends hanging out on the patio or nestled up at the bar with a nice cold beverage. Writing on the walls of favorite quotes and limericks, peanut shells scattered on the concrete floor, several flat screen TV's hanging amongst the random decor including old photos of Bob Dobbs most loyal customers. Banners of major sporting teams hang from the ceiling including UofA, Chicago Cubs, and Minnesota Vikings garb. It's a place where you will find names like Big Dumb Gary, Mustache Mike, Bookman Bill, Crazy Linda, and so much more. For real...no joke! Overall, it's a place where everybody knows your name! The food is fantastic and includes daily specials in addition to regular items such as garlic fries, famous wings, homemade soups, tasty sandwiches, fresh salads and the most popular burger of all.....The Bob. It's DELICIOUS! This spicy 8 oz cheeseburger is fully loaded with garlic....you will sing of garlic for hours to last! There's a diverse assortment of beer on tap and long tenured bartenders capable of creating any mixed fantasy. Your first visit to Bob Dobbs will undoubtedly not be your last! I LOVE this place!!!

Had dinner with a couple of friends tonight at Bob Dobbs. As always the burgers were cooked as ordered! One medium-rare, 1 medium and 1 well done. How often does that happen at most burger places? Great pale ale pitcher for $7.00 as well. I'm going to miss my neighborhood bar! Moving to CA. My friends will be back and they will bring their friends. If you like burgers - give the Bob burger a try. They will fix it the way you like it!

Servers were friendly with the "locals" and served them first. I sat staring at them for about five minutes and they even looked at me and past me up. When my cohorts arrived we sat outside and then they served us. The waitress with the big tits in your face and ring on her finger was all flirty to get a better tip; we all saw right through that. We didn't stick around to try the food. Everything had a grungy/dirty feel to it. Was not impressed and the place had little to no appeal to it.

I love Bob Dobbs. It's anything but fancy but the service is excellent, the beer is cold, and the greasy bar food is delicious. It's the perfect place for my softball team to hang out after a game. You'll find all kinds of people there, which is really great. I never feel out of place.

I was intimidated by the soy sauce so I stayed away from the Bob burger and instead got the Connie burger. It was good. Really, really good. I asked for onions and side of bbq sauce and it was brought out with the burger (at no addl charge). This was better than the wildcat burger at Trident. The bar itself is small. It's a ring in the middle of the restaurant, which would make for a friendly experience with all the other drunken bar-goers. The waitress was friendly, as was the cook who brought out our food. Towards the end of the meal the waitress got sluggish and left me without anything to drink for a few minutes. But I was so involved with downing my burger that it didn't bother me. I will go back again.

Filthiest bathroom I've ever been in, had better food in cafeterias, pretentious staff.

Best Bloody Mary in Tucson...hands down. Great burgers as well, but they tend to be a little overcooked, so if you like Medium, ask for Medium Rare. Sadly, I discovered this place late in my college career, as it's a great change of scenery from the normal UA spots and the crowd is laid back. With all being said, this is the best spot to cure a hangover or celebrate the completion of a mid-term and accompanying all-nighter. Be sure to get a patio seat for the full effect...

Had not been in this place in over 10 years. I was a regular during my college years Thank God it hasn't changed! Took the kids in for a Bob burger and it did not disappoint. Good food and cold beers. Bring your own Sharpie!!

Looking for a new place on a Sunday night in Tucson, my buddy and I found Bob Dobbs' on Yelp. We were hankering for a burger and got a nice one at this pub/bar. Perhaps because it was 9pm on a Sunday night, but it wasn't very crowded and we got good, quick service. The atmosphere was mannish and I really liked the "artwork" scrawled on the walls. It was dirty in a stylistic way; just dirty enough to be comfy, but not so dirty that I felt like I would contract something. The pint was tasty. The burger was excellent. Twin patties with cheese and seasoned with Worcestershire and soy sauce. (My dad used to good burgers like this and called them "Sizzle-burgers." Not quite as good as dad's.) The two patties made for awkward handling and I would have preferred on bigger patty or two thinner, wider ones. Fries were hot, but soggy. I like my fries crispy, so fry-hunters beware. Unfortunately Bob Dobbs' lost a star from me because their fries. Otherwise, it was a good place that I plan on returning to, particularly because of their great hours. To Bob Dobbs': If you make your fries crispy next time I return, I will up your rating to 4 stars! Fix the awkward burger handling and you'll get 5!

A decent bar to hangout in as we were stopping through Tucson. The hamburger was just ehh as was the grilled cod tacos. The tacos were more cabbage than actual fish in there. So next time burgers yes, tacos ahhh no!

Decent breakfast burrito, with good, tasty sausage in it. Good happy hour beer specials. Decent neighborhood bar.

As a bar to watch a game, or hang out after one, Bob Dobbs's is 3-star. They have friendly, efficient staff, a small but good selection of beer on tap, and enough big-screen TVs to be able to watch from anywhere inside. The menu was a bit boring even for bar food and the burgers were fresh-made, but nothing special.
(2)Josh F.
This place has a great burger. They kind of give you 2 sliders but under the same bun. Strange right? But I guess they like it that way because they can control how to cook it better? I don't know. They marinate the meat in Worcester sauce and Wasabi. A good combo that I have adopted for some of my burger outings. This place does get extremely busy during good football games and for pretty much any U of A game. But that's the fun thing about local bars right? You love to see a bunch of people screaming and cheering for your football team.
(4)Doug W.
They have Sierra on tap and serve great burgers. Just another part of the phenomenal transnational conglomerate of J.R. "Bob" Dobbs. Bless his holy pipe and the "frop" he smokes. Also: dogs are welcome in the outdoor patio. Hail "Bob"!!!!

I like Bob Dobbs'. The bartenders are friendly, or at least cranky in an endearing kind of way; the food is good; they have Smithwick's on tap, and the two dog-friendly covered patios are usually relaxing. People here seem to be pretty garrulous--including exactly the type Joshua S. mentioned, the "old guys who wear flowers shirts and khaki shorts with loafers"--and I've gotten myself mired in some long and boring stories that way, even with drunken remorseful tears (theirs, not mine), but no harm done. In other words, it's a great place to have a conversation that is beyond small talk yet still completely forgettable. It's difficult to describe the vibe, which isn't quite college hangout, old guy dive, or sports bar, yet has elements of all three. Lots of parking on the north side (off of Tucson Blvd) in the evenings.

Really nice local pub. One of those places with peanut shells on the floor and drunken scribbling/carvings on the walls and tables. I haven't had a bad meal here yet--The burgers and sandwiches are really good and well priced. Staff is nice, regulars are a mix of college backpacker types and old guys who wear flowery shirts and khaki shorts w/ loafers--Surprisingly few frat bros given the proximity to UA. 4 or 5 TVs showing various sports. The jukebox is free, yet nobody gets too greedy w/ it. Nice casual place to have a beer and a burger.

great little neighborhood dive.. All the bartenders rock and the bob burger is delicious!

Got Monday half chicken special and it was disappointing. It was too salty and flavor was off. The fresh cut fries were so so. Restroom was not the cleanest either. Only saving grace was the nice waiter.

Things to love: Burger, patio, mixed crowd. Things to not love: The no hustle bartenders, the two thumbs down domestic beer selection (except sierra & Guiness), really, how exciting is that?

When I was at the U and the Gaints games weren't on local TV (pre NFL Sunday Ticket), we would bounce down here and get ripped on Bloodies and watch the game. They used to have a great burger and it would be packed on NCAA game days. Not a huge rowdy college crowd usually- kinda classy, probably why I hardly ever went.

Came here after being turned away at Club Congress. The place was packed when we arrived, but the crowd was friendly and there was a decidedly low-key vibe to the place. The beer selection was run of the mill, but I can overlook that for tasty fries and a cozy outdoor patio. I had to laugh at the graffiti in the bathroom, the TV turned to Larry King (?), the middle aged man who's known to break into a jig when he's three sheets to the wind, and the wildlife biologist from California who discussed his plan to put a saddle and sombrero on his yellow lab. I have no idea what we were talking about. Clearly, a good time was had by all.

Ahh, Bob Dobb's, how I miss you. I used to live around the corner from Bob Dobb's when I was in law school. Every Sunday night I would come here for a burger and a beer. Mind you, I am practically a vegetarian. It's just the kind of place where you feel compelled to have a burger and beer. It has that special divey neighborhood "where everybody knows you name" atmosphere that cannot be duplicated and will live fondly in my memories. (sniff sniff) Someday we will meet again...

oh sweet jesus, Bob Dobbs has saved my life more than a few times. Their bloody mary's and burgers hit the spot after a rough night at wherever you decided to let loose the night before. I had the pleasure of living close by (or having friends that lived close by), so BD's was always to choice joint to hit up after a night out. The outdoor seating is key and the staff is nice. I miss having a place like Bob Dobbs around to cure what ails me those horrible Sunday mornings.

We had a great time watching college football here. Good service good food, and friendly staff. Not a fancy establishment and not the best TVs, but we had a great time. Certainly better choice for non-Arizona game here than any other place we checked out.

Located a few blocks away from U of A campus next to the Rincon Market, Bob Dobbs is a great local pub for either good food and/or drinks. If you are not looking for a college bar but still want to go somewhere near campus, this is a good place. And as the other Yelpers mentioned, their Burger is outstanding!
(5)Andy H.
A weird little bar next to Rincon Market. You can get free peanuts. I was too late to try the food.
(4)Eric D.
The bob burger is a crowd pleaser every time.. The fries are also great and don't forget to ask for some malt vinegar for dipping. The beer selection is pretty average and the bartenders never seem to know how to make a ladies drink.. Until we tell them the ingredients. A great bar to sit outside for a quite evening and good conversation. Friendly staff and close to the UofA.
