Diabetics at Jamba Juice:
Eating good food at the right time can control your blood sugar, also stop you from craving wrong sort of food. Jamba Juice offers drinks in three separate sizes: 16, 24, and 32-ounce. You can choose the lowest serving size and cut down on sugars and calorie intake. If you're diabetic and concerned about the sugar intake, then you can opt for the smaller 9.5-ounce smoothies available for kids at Jamba Juice.
Foods to Avoid at Jamba Juice for Diabetics:
Jamba Juice is primarily known for its highly satisfying and nutritive smoothies and juices. Almost every smoothie and juice item on the Jamba Juice menu contains sugar. Diabetics are recommended to opt for smaller serving size while ordering at Jamba Juice. Also, avoid opting for creamy treats as all the smoothies offered in this category contain a load of sugars.
Keep the sugar content below 50g per meal at Jamba Juice and ensure that you don't follow it with a heavy meal. A small size regular smoothie is equivalent to a meal for everyone. Classic smoothies at Jamba Juice are also heavily loaded with sugars. Stay away from that section if you are a diabetic.

Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

They are THE best Chinese food in Tucson, 13 years in a row so far, hands-down! I would give them 10 stars if I could. I love the crab ran-goons, General Tso's chicken, lemon chicken, beef and broccoli, sesame chicken/beef, and pork fried rice. It's always a pleasure to go to Ba-Dar!

The Best Best Best Our Favorite In Tucson !!!!!!!!!!!!! always fresh fast and just plan great asian fare

Not the best Chinese by far, but even as far east as it is, this is one of the places the asians on campus go, if that tells you something. Here's the thing: they used to have a secret, "authentic" asian menu which they would only give you if they deemed you worthy. This means if I came here without my husband, or with a few fellow asians in tow, I would get it. With my husband and another white buddy, I would get shafted with the american-chinese menu. Although they've since combined their fare onto one menu, the analogy holds true. When I show up with whities, it's the same brown sauce.

Being Asian American and being from California, when me and my wife moved here we search for the best Asian restaurant to eat at. We been to many in the last 5 years but by far this is the best asian restaurant in Tucson. Portions are great and the food is delicious. Service is also excellent, especially delivery. They even give out a free bonus of crab wontons or egg-rolls according to how much u spend. I recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Went last night, we ordered the fish vegetable dish, bbq pork chow fun and hot and sour soup. The chow fun had barely any meat at all and was fairly bland. The hot and sour soup was more flavorful good blend of tofu, sauce and mushrooms. The fish dish was the best of the bunch. The fish was cooked well and had good flavor, but again, very little fish.

Eval of Chinese restaurants basically for [1] eat-in and [2] take-out. The rule of Chinese restaurants in Tucson is inconsistency; Ba-Dar however is more consistently good than most others, especially eat-in.

I am not a Chinese food expert. Having grown up in the San Francisco Bay Area, I have eaten at some excellent Chinese restaurants there. I do know real bad Chinese food, and up until the last few years, I had not been willing to try any Asian restaurants in Tucson, because almost all of them show up in the poor ratings section of the health department inspection reports in the Star. But about a year and a half ago, a Chinese friend of mine from Singapore recommended Ba-Dar as one the few most authentic Chinese food joints in Tucson. I have not been disappointed with her recommendation. I have always enjoyed my meals here. As I've mentioned in couple of my other reviews, I get into a rut eating the same things, so I have tried to broaden my experience here, BUT I LOVE THE ORANGE SPICY BEEF SO MUCH! The rice noodles are excellent, the beef is generous, and the orange flavor is subtle but never missing. I've tried some other dishes, including Kung Pao beef, chicken, and shrimp, as well as a couple of others - they've all been great - but it's the orange spicy beef that keeps me coming back. The plate is about $9, but I get two meals out of it. My wife and I have never had a problem with service at Ba-Dar. As for the atmosphere, it's typical Chinese - better than most - it's not tacky like a lot of them can be - and it's clean. I believe I've never seen Ba-Dar get a poor health inspection report. They offer delivery and takeout.

After reading previous reviews and wanting a dinner something near the Gaslight Theater 4 of us gave it a try. Glad we did. Sampled 4 different entrees and the dinner add on for an additional $3.50 each that included a choice of soup, 2 crab rangoons, a spring roll and fried rice per person. Food was well prepared and service was good. Generous portions made for a great next day left over lunch. Very reasonably priced. Dinner for 4 including tip under $60. One of better Chinese restaurants we have visited in Tucson.

I have frequented Ba-Dar a couple of times, once eating in, a couple of times either ordering delivery or takeout. Each time I have always been astonished at how good the food is. When eating in I saw someone eating something I couldn't find on the menu. I asked the server and she said it was from the other menu. Feeling left out we asked for the "other" menu which was in fact the real chinese menu. We ordered a wonderful tendon dish that was melt in your mouth amazing and a few other things and it was like being transported to china, if only for a meal. We ordered takeout and delivery a couple of times and each time the it was ready quickly the egg rolls were crisp, crab puffs warm, the sauces and rice were hot and the food was voluminous in quantity and high in quality. I always order more than we can eat because I just can't pick one dish to share. We just recently ordered their Moo Shu pork and it was fantastic, crisp and tasty. I also had to order their sweet and sour pork and it was not the usual little pieces of fat and gristle battered heavily and floating in a sweet and sour sauce. It was instead large meaty chunks of pork, lightly battered with pineapple chunks, onion and green pepper chunks with the sauce on the side ready for you to do it yourself. Truly fantastic chinese food. It makes me wonder if other "ethnic" restaurants have "other" menus I might be missing. Just don't miss Ba-Dar

Not a fan.....ordered Twice Cooked Pork and Moo Goo Gai Pan. The taste wasn't bad, but the texture of the pork and chicken was kinda tough and slimy. Won't be going back.
(2)Brittany H.
*NOTE* I'm going with a solid 2.5 here, not just a 2!! Had Ba-Dar delivered but would have much rather tried it in-store for the first time. Everything was delivered promptly but was just OK. Kinda meh. For $40 we got crab rangoon, which were in desperate need of, well, crab(and scallions!), 2 spring rolls, veggie fried rice, shrimp lo mein and general tsao's chicken. Now, the general tsao's was kinda ridiculous. This is a spicy dish, or so it's meant to be. No spice whatsoever. None, zilch, nada. What we COULD taste was the cinnamon & sugar they used, which is bizarre to say the least. It was pretty much just sweet chicken, not too great. The shrimp lo mein was spaghetti noodles, not lo mein, and it was really dry. I like my lo mein to have a LITTLE sauce on it. It's not that it wasn't flavorful, it was just dry. And suuuuper garlicky. They don't skimp you on the skrimps though, which is nice. Overall, I guess I'd go again to give them another try. Maybe it was an off night or maybe it's cuz they were about to close but we just weren't impressed. However, I'm sure we'll give Ba-Dar a second chance in the future.

Mmmmm..Ba-Dar. I decided to dine solo one night when hubs was away at training. Even though tis out of the geographical way (for me), I decided to go to Ba-Dar because of my insane craving for General Tso's chicken. I arrived just before their early dine special was ending. They have many options on the early dine menu but wouldn't you know it -- GT chicken was NOT one of them. No worries, my server said for an additional dollar they could hook me up with the GT chicken I craved AND substitute wonton soup instead of egg drop or hot and sour (both of which I despise). There restaurant was about half-full right before traditional dinner time. Even moderately busy, the service at Ba-Dar was lightning fast. I was happily digging into my soup and entree in no time. The wonton soup had strips of pork and was full of wontons and scallions. Many times, places seem to serve more broth in their soup than anything so this was a huge plus for me. When my GT chicken came out, the portion was quite large and I really appreciated the fact that my chicken was perfect and not grisly in the least! It was delicious and despite some other reviews of the GT chicken, mine was really spicy! Maybe they listen to their customers' complaints. I ate as much as I could and still had some leftovers. Dessert for me was the traditional fortune cookie along with some sort of yummy almond cookie. I did not drink (other than iced tea) but they did seem to have a decent selection of beer, wine and sake at a cheap price. I'm really drooling as I type this out. I loved Ba-Dar and will return the next time I'm craving some Chinese. The service and value are great. My only qualm is that I really wish they were open on Mondays. Twice I have gotten in the car with hubs to go to dinner there and remembered that they aren't open on Mondays!

Yum - Good old fashioned Chinese food! I've had several of the chicken and beef dishes, and most I like. Some I love. The egg rolls are tasty and greasy, as one should expect at a typical Chinese restaurant. The crab puffs are more like cream cheese puffs, but I love that about them so it keeps me happy. I will go back for sure.

Went here with a friend on a weeknight when it was dead. They get 3 stars because the service was great and the lady was very friendly. The atosphere was ok, kind of typical. nothing about hte place really wow'ed me as far as the decor went. Though I did like reading the small blurbs on the placemat about chinese astrology. Now the food, well it was just so-so. I didn't find it to be anything special. The food was a tad on the overly salty side. I ended up getting sick after eating here but I don't know if it was the food itself or something I was alergic too. Still, not worth it for sure. I did like the almond cookie at the end though. That was tasty.
(3)Jimmy M.
I love how many vegitarian dishes they have here. I get takeout from here about once a month and haven't been disappointed yet.
(4)Cary M.
Went to this restaurant last night with the wife. I had the sweet and sour chicken and my wife ordered the almond chicken. My sweet and sour chicken wasn't bad, but nothing special. Tasted like what you would buy at the grocery store and prepare at home, only not quite so good. My wife's almond chicken wasn't edible and so we ended up sharing what I ordered. I understand you prepare almond chicken using garlic, but not to the point where it overpowers the dish. Her's was really bad. Maybe it was left over from the day before, who knows. I have to be fair; the waitress, who was very nice, offered to take it back and bring us back a plate of almond chicken without the garlic. We didn't feel it was worth the wait as the chicken had a strange texture too, so we thanked her and left.

This place was recommended to me from a phone provider worker. Should've known right then. I went there and not only were they rude...the food sucked! I ordered chicken lo-mein and she said did I want soft noodles or crispy. I said crispy thinking chow-mein and when everything came she was rude about the whole transaction and the hot and sour soup came in a styrafoam container about half a cup size! I then went out to the parking lot and checked our food to make sure it was right and I didn't see any chow-mein...I went back in after being ignored by workers walking by me 5-6 times until I said: Hello! Then one came up and I told her the problem and she went and got rude ass...rude ass came back and said you said crispy noodles. I said these aren't noodles these are fried wonton strips....anyways not point in arguing with rude ass. I walked out and will never go back. Their fried rice sucked too with pieces of unrecognizable meat in it and dry.

OMG!!! The BEST Chinese food and the BEST service I have EVER had in Tucson! Last night's meal was the best I have had in years! I went out for dinner with my partner and mother and father in law here. I had never eaten here before but was told it was really good. The service was the best I have EVER had in Tucson (I have lived here for almost 8 years). Our waitress had a great sense of humor, was very friendly and made sure we were taken care of. When we walked in around 7:30, the place was packed. We were told that we could sit wherever we wanted, so we found a table in the back. Our waitress came and showed us the drink menu... there were many foreign beers offered, including one from Thailand called Chang that she recommended for me. The prices were very cheap for beer; between 2.25 and 3.50 per bottle. Pretty impressive seeing that most places charge between 4.00 and 6.00 per bottle elsewhere in Tucson. We chose something called the Dinner Special (I believe it was called) where you could select 1 entree from the menu and for 3.50 more, get hot and sour, wonton or some other type of soup, 1 eggroll, 2 crab rangoons and upgrade to delicious pork fried rice. We each ordered a different entree so we could each sample each others dishes. We ordered the Volcano Duck, Cashew Shrimp, Shrimp in Lobster sauce and Curry Chicken. INCREDIBLE!!!!! My choice was the Volcano Duck which was duck that was deep fried and served with sweet and sour sauce, pineapple, onions and carrots. The duck was very tender and delicious. I told my party next time we come I am NOT sharing lol. I was very impressed with it, as duck is INCREDIBLY difficult to make right. All the flavors were right on and there was A LOT of food. I am a pretty big guy and can eat a lot but even I had to take my leftovers to go. The prices were pretty reasonable, around 8.00-12.00 per entree depending on what you ordered. I tipped the waitress 20% because I was so impressed by everything (something I NEVER do). KUDOS to her and the entire staff here! They all made our night! This is now my favorite restaurant in Tucson and I will be back weekly. They made us feel like family!

Pretty good Chinese food. Their delivery service is good too. Service is great! They have great menu options and an early bird dinner. I would recommend this place.
(4)Al W.
Been coming here for years and still haven't found a place this good in my new neighborhood. The restaurant is pretty standard as far as decor is concerned. They have done some updating lately which makes the entry a bit nicer. I don't come here for the decor however. The service is always great from being greeted by the owner when arriving to table service. Some of the staff get a bit overwhelmed when it gets busy but they are always friendly. The food is always fantastic. I have a weakness for the green beans, the ginger chicken or cashew chicken. At lunch you can eat a two course meal for about $6. Dinner is a bit pricier but the house dinner option lets you add soup, eggroll and crab rangoons for $3.75. A steal! The fact that the place is packed with Asian people is a great sign for me. Its not PFChangs and I'm greatful for that. Going 110 miles out of my way go eat here anytime. I love Ba-Dar!
(5)Leo B.
Best Chinese in town "Ba-Dar" None. Delivery takes a loooooong time so we always pick up.
(4)Niki T.
Thank you owners... If it wasn't for you, I would of never felt satisfied in Tucson. I love the people who work here, they are extremely friendly and helpful. Food is really good. I've only found peppered beef done this way at one other Chinese place ever, and sadly that place lost their lease. But this place has it perfectly. I could eat it everyday. I like their deal, add $3.50 for a few apps and a cup of soup. Much better deal instead of trying to find a family meal with items we actually like. My hubs wasn't as in love as I was, he says it's good and will be fine going again. And they have sangria!
(5)Bryce R.
My experience at Ba-Dar was an interesting one. I showed up on a Sunday night after waiting to pick up my food for 20 minutes. When I get there the food is not ready but instead of telling me this I stand behind a guy that is holding up the take-out guy for about 5 minutes. This customer is just talking away. The take-out guy can see me but still continues to keep his conversation with this customer about non-sense (football, music, places they've lived). By the time the guy moves out of the way some regular comes in and the take-out guy acknowledges him and not me, the guy that has been patiently waiting the past ten minutes. By the time I get his attention he tells me my food isn't ready. I sit down and wait another 10 minutes for them to bring the food. It comes out and it's bagged up. Maybe it's my fault for trusting or just the way they packaged it but I didn't look in the bag nor did the person offer to show me what I was getting to at least inventory it. I take the food home and guess what the chow mien isn't in the bag. It's some gross looking chicken soupish looking meal. I call back and they apologize for the mix up they did offer to give me a refund or come get the correct chow mein. I elect to come get it. I get there and guess what I wait again. This time they did add in some crab ragoons for the trouble. This was very nice and I do appreciate the consideration from the manager which was a nice older woman. In their defense the food was good besides the chow mein they had forgotten. Maybe I have a misconception but my chow mein should look like Panda Express right wrong or indifferent that's the world we live in just like orange chicken. The chow mein was some soup thing with crunchy fried noodles very strange but not good. Other than the horrible service the food was decent for a Chinese place but I probably will look for another Chinese place.

Chinese restaurants in Tucson are usually a disappointment, however Ba-Dar is a welcome exception to that rule! I have a weakness for their Singapore style noodles (I've been through all their noodle style selections). They've been good on all other dishes I've tried. Service is great too!

Hidden gem! Venture off the beef with broccoli and try beef with 5 mushrooms, ginger chicken (all white meat and fresh basil), and scrumptious crispy eggplant (puffy little pillows). Why have we not dined here in the past? My family drives past this unassuming restaurant daily! We plan to go there every week. We have traveled extensively in Asia, eaten at amazing Chinese restaurants such as in our hometown of San Francisco and this little jewel holds its own! Fresh and fun!

I visited this restaurant with the sole intention of enjoying a traditional Chinese fish head soup. The result was very disappointing. Though the name of the soup is called "fish head" soup the only fish portions consisted of fins and the backbone. When brought up to the manager we were informed that their "FISH HEAD" soup included a small portion of the back of the head and various chopped off parts of the fish. I could probably ignore their ignorance of what proper fish head soup is, but I can not ignore the steep price of 23$ for fish "scrap" soup. When I asked for a refund I was declined, offered only a 10% discount, and otherwise ignored. What got me most was the servers shock to see that there was no fish head in our soup either. I did enjoy the how nice the server was. Very polite and informative. Too bad this wont be enough get me to come back again.

Did not like. We had vegetable dumplings (we ordered pork and got vegetable), crab rangoons (we ordered egg rolls but got rangoons), orange chicken and mongolian beef. Orange chicken was the best out of all of it but it was just ok. The beef tasted old and the dumplings were full of rice noodles with specks of mushrooms. The crab rangoons were good.

Eating in, Ba Dar was perfectly acceptable, even above average American Chinese food. Delivery? Not so much... The word that comes to mind is "blegh", actually. Textures all off, incredibly salty, and lukewarm. Crispy salt and pepper tofu that definitely wasn't crispy and didn't have any flavor beyond salt. Bottom of the ocean salt. The delivery wasn't super long or off from their estimate, either. Green beans made slimy and the addition of bean curd only serving to provide tasteless protein strips in between green slugs of vegetable. I'm still looking for you, good AZ Chinese takeout. Somewhere, out there, beneath the pale moonlight.
(2)Paige H.
My family and I have ate here several times and tonight the Mongolian combo was absolutely amazing! It had an amazing flavor that was just the right amount of spice. Excellent!
(5)Howard H.
Great food and friendly staff! The only place in town you'll find "stinky tofu". If you don't know what I'm talking about, you really know nothing about real Chinese food.
(4)Robert C.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. They have terrific food and even better food that's not on the menu. The service is great and they really try to get to know their patrons. This is the place to be adventurous. The stinky Tofu is one of my favorites but there are many other dishes I really like such as: Westlake Duck, Tofu Sheets, Portuguese Sausage, etc. If you've never eaten here, ask and seriously consider suggestions from the staff.
(5)Terry X.
Lunch specials are delicious. Huge portions. Great prices. Service is top notch. Possibly the best hot and sour soup in Tucson. Always a good experience.
(5)Christina D.
Pretty good Chinese food. My family always asks for one of the Vietnamese speaking servers to recommend one of their dishes and were never disappointed. The prices are reasonable for what you get. My only concern is the place is TINY!! including parking. You might end up waiting longer than you expect when eating. I feel like they should downsize a lot of their large tables to smaller to accommodate more people but that's just me. Servers are busy but they're few. If it's busy I can see it being hectic. Overall, good and reasonable! Authentic. Not your Panda Express.
(4)Adam M.
This Chinese food had its own good flavor. What I mean is I've had wonton soup at places like this and they pretty much are the same. Here it had a different flavor and strips of pork in the soup. The cream cheese Rangoon had a good different flavor too. The main meal was great as well.
(5)Paul C.
I went into Ba-Dar for lunch shortly after 1pm today and waited more than 15 minutes for nobody to take my order. For most of that time, one waitress chatted with the next table about medication for ADD; she could see me sitting there waiting. Two other women brought food, boxes, and the bill to other tables, but they never approached me or looked in my direction. When the waitress finished talking with the next table, she vanished back into the kitchen. I waited two more minutes to see if she would come take my order, but I ran out of patience and left.
(1)Ryan E.
Head and shoulders above every other Chinese Restaurant on the east side. The food is delicious, consistent and a great value. Portions are usually enough for two and delivery makes it even more convenient. As a local I can assure you there is no better choice. Tip- Call ahead if you plan to dine in. The restaurant is not too large so waits are not unheard of.
(5)Rick V.
THE Best Chinese food in Tucson! I Love their Eggplant (all three styles, but the chef sauce version is my fave) and they fix a mean General Tso's chicken. The pork dumplings...awesome!! Hot & sour soup...spectacular!! I have never had a bad meal here, EVER! You won't be disappointed.
(5)Sean S.
I really enjoy this place. Every time I go, I upgrade to the meal to get some pork fried rice and crab wontons(?). I'm not 100% sure because my wife gives me her rice and she eats the wontons. Anyway, great food that is really tasty for a great price. The only reason I am not giving it five stars is because I am only a fan of a few dishes. They aren't exactly creative with the dishes and it is a pretty run of the mill American-Chinese joint. I am spoiled with Chinese food since I worked at a very nice restaurant when I was growing up and when we got off, the cooks made some real special food for the closers.
(4)Rick B.
Been out of town for over a month, our first meal back was Ba Dar, delivery was ahead of estimated time and was the food ever hot! Had Chinese food in the Midwest while there and out in California while there, Ba Dar is by far the best! Keep up the great cooking!
(5)Aaron G.
Ba Dar is the family friendly Chinese restaurant you've been looking for. Authentic Chinese food the way you would expect it!!!! Best Chinese food in town!!!!
(5)Tracy H.
I ordered delivery & I was super impressed! The food was wonderfull, of course, but I'm wanted to comment on the bag it was brought in. Most delivery places just give you a plastic bag, but Ba-Dar went above & beyond! They delivered my food in a super strong brown bag & actually reinforce the bottom with cardboard! This seems super easy but they took the time out to care that I ordered soup for delivery! I totally will call & recommend them anytime.
(5)Melinda C.
The food here was ok. Pretty typical for a Chinese restaurant. Our waitress was distracted by having friends arrive. Another waitress tried to cover, but we could tell she wasn't happy. But our waitress definitely wanted our tip! It was awkward when we had to take our check up to the counter. Will we go back? Probably not.
(3)Jennifer B.
Everyone knows that Chinese food in Tucson is abysmal. This is the best place I've found so far on the east side of town. Try the peking duck, its amazing. We ordered take out on New Years Eve and that was a costly mistake. Based on experience, I don't think the kitchen has strong leadership and they really can't handle volume. However, its a great place for dinner.
(4)Craig P.
Badar is an old favorite (been coming here since I was a kid). Whenever I have a hankering for Chinese and on the east side they are the place to hit. Consistently delicious and so many things to try. A few faves are the Singapore noodles with chicken, chow fun, Mongolian beef, and chicken with black bean. I love they have options from the many regions of the country and extended area. So, pop in, say hi to the Buddha on the fish tank, and just chill out with family or friends.
(4)Daniel S.
Best Chinese food in town!! My family and I have been buying food from here for a couple years now and have never been once let down, amazing quality food!!
(5)Ttkim K.
After all the yeps review, we decided to give it a try. We ordered the crispy duck though its not crispy, and also the crispy salted squid and still not crispy but the seasoning wise was good compare to other Chinese rest. Service was good.
(4)Robert M.
I have never dined in, so I can't speak for the customer service or atmosphere of the restaurant. I always received delivery, and I have to say they're relatively quick. The drivers are always nice and courteous. The food, is great! It's not award winning, but good. I always get the dinner special that includes the crab ragoons, soup, and a egg roll. I've only been disappointed once with a wonton soup that was very bland. I have since then purchased the same soup with no issues. Overall good place!
(4)Adam F.
Enjoyed my overall experience here. Placed a phone order for five and was promptly ready when I arrived to pick it up. The manager of the front was extremely nice and helpful. The interior is old-finished which I like but was a little dark. The food was very good. The noodles for the lo mein were tasty. The egg drop soup was one of the better ones I have had in Tucson. I tried the egg foo yong and felt like the gravy tasted a little bland. I also tried the Signapore noodle dish and that was really good. They have one of the largest menus I have seen from a Chinese restaurant in the 520. Another Chinese restaurant discovered and liked!
(4)Marcy S.
Worst food too much salt .ate there 1 time nothing special .I ordered from the American side of the menu.too bad for me.
(1)Kristie F.
This is the worst Asian food I have ever eaten. I even tried it twice thinking it must have been me the 1st time.
(1)Amber E.
Don't get me wrong, the food is great but attention to detail leaves something to be desired. EVERY TIME we order Ba-dar for take out or delivery, something is wrong. They forget to include sauce for crab puffs, they give you chicken instead of beef etc. You would think by now we would have learned out lesson and checked the bag before we left, but my husband is on his way back now because our order is once again wrong :(

I arranged to meet a friend at another nearby restaurant only to find a sign on their door that they had closed. Plan B put into action - turned out to be Ba-dar. I was pleasantly surprised. Their lunch specials are quite good. I ordered the House Kung Pao, with beef, chicken and shrimp. It came with an egg roll, choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, and white or fried rice. I got the hot and sour, which was decent, not great, but seemed just a little on the thick side. The egg roll, was about the same. It was hot and crispy, but the veggies inside were kind of mushy. The entree is where they really shined. A good portion of quality, properly cooked shrimp, beef and white meat chicken with plenty of fresh veggies, peanuts and chilis in that spicy Kung Pao sauce. Normally, I feel the need to add soy sauce, but not in this case. I should have stopped eating halfway through, but I kept going and was stuffed afterward. My friend had the General Tso's chicken lunch special (same $6.95), which he said was really good. I had ordered takeout from here in the past and was less than impressed. This visit changed my mind. Reasonable prices, good portions and quality food are the holy trinity in the book of lunch specials. I'll be dragging another lunch buddy here soon.

We are convinced this is the place to go to. Oh so good, so accommadating, so peaceful and pleasant, such great people run it and wonderful waitress's . You get a lot for your money, and so we go once a month at least. Have tried other places and none are as good. I admire these people and love it when we hit it when the good cook is there. He did have a place on Grant and Craycroft. He had to close due to road expansion that ruined his business. His wife is the sister to the owner. We love this place . thanks for being the way you are.
(5)Jasmine W.
Love this place. Super friendly staff and a very pleasant atmosphere with soothing instrumental music and the aquariums. It's not a larger place, but it offers a huge menu including specialty seasonal dishes, vegetarian options and desserts. 3 cup chicken, braised tofu sheets and crispy fish filet are my go to. I love the soy milk they make fresh daily and their homemade almond cookies are habit forming.

Okay, so im writing this review a little late from my experience. I had came for a late night meal around 9pm which is 30 mins before closing. They were nice and seated us without any rush. It was myself as well as three others and we were the only ones as the last ones to be served for the night. I cant recall the exact date I was there but this was around mid last summer. (2014). Anyway, as we were finishing up our food, we were talking amongst ourselves and what we heard in the back might come to a shocking surprise.Any of you might think I'm lying but I am 100% honest. As we finished up our meals, all four of us had heard what sounded like two dogs howling or crying as some might say. And I'm not sure if its a family owned buissness that the owner has their dogs back there but I have worked in the food managment buissness for just under 8 years amd no where in my training nor kitchens I have worked in allowed ANY type of animal in or around the workplace other than people assisted service animals in the dinning area. This place used to be a family favorite and I have eaten here for the past 5 years. And I have not returned after my experience. Its not in my religion to eat dogs but I cant think of any other reason they would Have dogs in the kitchen lol. I guess this explains some peoples reviews talking about "wierd texture meat" or "unknown meat" haha who knows though..

Went into Ba Dar yesterday for dinner an I must admit, it has got to be one of the better Chinese restaurants in Tucson. They have a lot of veggie dishes to chose from, for us Vegetarian. Service was great and our server was very friendly. I will definitely return to this place again. Great food, great service, and great price!!
(4)Armando G.
Was recommended by a friend who lives on the east side. I am not too familiar with this side of town, but love restaurants and food. This place was very cozy, and the food was high quality. Glad I stopped by. The next time I'm craving Chinese I might make the trip out. Definitely a pleasant experience.
(5)Rene S.
When it comes to best deals for a Chinese restaurant, Ba-dar takes the crown. They have a early dinner menu that is a steal! Choosing between an appetizer, soup, and one entrée. You cannot beat the quality or quantity for the price. I have been very pleased with the level of service, the serving staff needs to be more organized and some what more attentive. Yet giving their ethnic background I can appreciate there need to allow you to actually enjoy your meal. I can say that if you are expecting panda express orange chicken or any other similar dishes... This is not the place for you. Ba-Dar truly sticks to what arizona considers Chinese food. Give it a try, there clean and open environment shall truly steal your view of what a great Chinese restaurant should be!
(4)Alissa P.
Being from nj...this restaurant is close to home town food...egg rolls are more like spring rolls...duck sauce is homemade..yummy...spareribs are kinda expensive for only 4 but they were very good....we ordered their noodle soups...big bowls filled with fresh veggies and good broth..I would go back...
(4)Gus M.
Not the best but not the worst. The food is hit or miss. Let me start by saying that I order the same two dishes every time and I have been ordering delivery from them about every 3 months for years. Sometimes, the food is mushy and over-breaded and sometimes, perfect and crispy. I always ask for mild/not spicy when placing my order and this too, is hit or miss. Tonight, I made sure to ask at the beginning of the order and again when she came back online with my total and yup, you guessed it....I recieved super-spicy. So much that my mouth is still burning. Considering that I ordered late and delivery arrived at 8:30PM, and the fact that the driver loses tip money if he has to drive back and forth to make my order right, I chose not to complain. I just know that my food will be hit or miss and put up with it because I only order from them if I don't have food in my house or if its too late to cook.

Service so fast I thought they might be telepaths that knew we were approaching. Aside from their apparent clairvoyance, the scallops with mushrooms were great, orange chicken was "like candy" my son said, and the Mo Shu Pork was the runaway hit of the table. Mo Shu pork/chicken/beef or whatever protien you get comes with 3 Chinese pancakes (crepe/tortillas) that let you "roll your own"-well worth it. We ordered bobas for the kids but the food got there so fast we didn't get to finish them! 6 entrees (including a couple of noodle dishes) yielded a nice take-home smorgasbord for later. Go ahead, order too much, your future night-time snacker will thank yous. We were there on a Saturday night at around 6pm and the dining room was semi-full of smallish parties-2s & 3s. Come 730pm the place was jam packed with folks lined up at the door and the takeout desk burning up the track. To coin a phrase: KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: Peking Duck requires 48 hour notice!!!!!!!!

Whenever you visit a new Chinese place I recommend you order your favorite go to meal as a reference point, mine is BBQ fried rice. I did not take my advice and instead tried a new dish which was fried fish. The restaurants own special. I wad a bit turned off when the fish was either a cod or snapper be jade those ate very different fish. But hey adventure right? Well I did and I was displeased with how bland our entire meal was. I shared some noodles with my partner and her meal was bland as well. Normally I cc any eat a full playe of food but I wad able to and was still hungry. The rice is nothing special and so I recommend they serve brown rice as an option. The table does not have a wide selection of spices or low sodium soy sauce to bring character to a plain meal. I should go back for that reference point but we will see. The interior itself is rather dated and humble about it. There are somewhat engaging fishtanks I wish they would take the coral wallpaper off the tank so it would look better. Meh, we will see.
(3)Joey Y.
sizzling soup and cantonese chow mien are yummy!
(5)Joseph L.
After few more visits during the lunch hour. I think they do offer pretty good lunch menu for your selection. And I am writing this on the new yelp app. Yay!
(4)Linda B.
This our favorite Chinese restaurant in Tucson! We love the BBQ Pork Fried Rice, Pork Dumplings, and Lo Mein. Whenever we order from here we are never disappointed. They may be a little over priced, but I believe it's worth the price you pay. And I live that they take your payment at the door not over the phone.
(5)Suzi G.
Hot braised green beans with bean curd (bean curd was sliced thinly and sauce was very light and not spicy), house special chow fun (flat noodles with bean sprouts well seasoned), seafood combination in white sauce (really fishy with fake crab meat but lots of crunchy water chestnut), eggplant with basil and chicken (by far the best dish we had, and I don't like eggplant! ). Beer selection is decent (and so is the service, I had 3 beers without a hiccup but I did have to ask for them). Got the winter melon sweet bubble tea which was tasty and different but too sweet for me.
(3)Chris W.
Best Chinese I've had in Tucson since moving here in 1999. Very authentic flavors. Good service. Kid-friendly.
(4)lindsey h.
i love this place. i don't live in tucson anymore, and when i did, it was quite a trek from where i lived downtown. i always wished i was in their delivery area, but, alas. my standard order is both sesame tofu and the salt and pepper tofu. i eat a bit of each and then take the rest home :) the sesame tofu is great, sweet and a little spicy and served on a bed of crispy rice noodles. the salt and pepper tofu is something that i only tried on a whim, once when i wanted to branch out from sesame tofu. i was SO surprised at how good it was. big triangles of tofu, slightly fried and seasoned with just salt and pepper, and big slices of green onion. that's it. yum.
(4)Nali M.
my sister-in-law has been talking about ba-dar since i moved to tucson. i finally had the opportunity to try it out during lunch with the husband and my daughter. at lunch, it wasn't that busy, which was nice for us. the inside of the restaurant is nice. they have a couple of fish tanks which was great for my daughter. their menu is pretty simple, but still have plenty of different options. the service was very nice and you can tell that this is a family owned business. i can't recall what we exactly ordered, but, everything was tasty. the lunch meal came with soup (the choice was hot & sour or eggdrop) we got one of each. another good thing is they have boba tea (tasty teas/smoothies with large tapioca balls on the bottom). haven't really looked anywhere else in tucson for them, but we were excited to find them here. will definitely be going back to ba-dar in the new year!
(5)Gary B.
What can I say except a truly authentic place. It is my go-to when I want brilliantly prepared Chinese food. You can tell the owners take pride in what they make. You can fine many familiar dishes but you should really try the specialty dishes. Some of my favorites are the Ginger Chicken and the whole fried fish. I also love that I get the same quality and taste every time I order here. Now, if you really want to jump in feet-first, you MUST try the stinky tofu. It comes from Taiwan but you can find it in other parts of China. The fact that they have it in Tucson totally blows my mind. It is not for the timid but you will be a true master if you can handle this unique dish.
(5)Tonya S.
Hands down the best Chow Mein in Tucson! I wish I could afford to get it every day. The only reason I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that the egg rolls are horrendous. The flavor and texture of the filling is not enjoyable at all.
(4)John B.
Service - excellent. Food - delicious. Ambiance - homey My spicy orange beef had pieces of actual candied orange peel in it. Tasty! I'm going back for more.
(4)Julia S.
I took my nephew into Ba-Dar after reading some of the positive feedback here on Yelp. It didn't live up to the hype for me. The service was sub-par. Our waitress hardly said anything during our entire visit, and the atmosphere was oddly tense. The dining area was too dark, but did feature some fish tanks that my nephew enjoyed. As for the actual food, well, it was pretty good. We ordered the orange chicken and two pork egg rolls. The portions were fair, and it arrived quickly enough. While it wasn't jaw dropping, I really didn't have any complaints with the food, so by all means, give Ba-Dar a shot. I'm not in a particular hurry to go back, though.
(3)Mariya D.
Oh Ba-Dar. I love this place. My husband and I go on dates here, my mom knows the owner and it's always been super fresh. The food is delicious, except they could add a little more spice to their "spicey" meals. Family friendly, the prices are decent, and at lunchtime, you can get a lot of food for not a lot of money. Go there, try it! :)
(5)Lauren K.
We went to Ba-Dar tonight after only having done take out from them in the past. The food, as it was for take out, was very good. The ingredients are fresh, and much higher quality than one would expect from Chinese food. The chicken was white meat, with no chewy or gross pieces. The veggies were crisp and not over cooked or greasy. The sauces were very, very flavorful, and a little bit better than run-of-the-mill Chinese. The fried rice was decent, the egg roll was fresh, hot, and good, and the soup was very tasty. The service was very attentive and friendly. We never had an empty drink, and they came by to check on us often enough. When we did take out, they got the food to us promptly. The food was still piping hot and well packaged. Their portions are very large. Their prices are very good. The early bird special was a great deal. Overall, this was an excellent meal, and the next time we're in the mood for Chinese food, we'll be going to Ba-Dar!
(4)Christine P.
I have been in Tucson for 10+ years and Ba-Dar is still my ULTIMATE Chinese cuisine. Yes, they have lunch specials and the usual orange chicken, beef and broccoli, crab rangoons (crab puffs), lo mein, BUT what I like about this restaurant is they serve the good family size portions along with the not so typical Chinese dishes like deep fried fish (yes, with eyes and fins), traditional soups, and much much more. I can only wish for one little option... DIM SUM. But unfortunately, it is not offered here. =( It's ok though, because I am HAPPY with the dishes offered here. The crab rangoons are always fully filled, the hot & sour soup is not too spicy, but has a great sour taste to it, the egg drop soup is phenomenal, it has a perfect consistency and taste. For the main courses, I like to order the vegetable lo mien, walnut shrimp, beef and broccoli, stir fried string beans, either the sesame or orange chicken, family sized portion of sour soup and kung pao chicken! Of course, not all at the same time, I do switch on and off with all of them. Side Note: They are Vietnamese Chinese. Meaning they speak both languages. AND English, of course!
(5)Brittany S.
Soo great. Great prices, great service, friendly and speedy delivery. Hot and sour soup is very good. I had Mongolian beef and was impressed. I have been looking for great Chinese food delivery..so glad this one is close to me after the move.
(5)Helena H.
It's really Hard to find DECENT CHINESE food in TUCSON. So out of 10 chinese restaurants, I like ONLY 3 of them, and THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVES IN TUCSON. First of all this is chinese CHINESE food, not americanize. - I always order the 3 cup chicken here since this is the only restaurant they make that. A bit salty but if you mix the sauce into the white rice then i can call it YUMMY. - The Duck is also decent here. It's not the typical regular duck, they marinate it for a while to make that special taste in it. - Beef with scallions is plain and not bad. Pricewise is pretty cheap consider to be OUTSIDE OF NOWHERE. Staffs are pretty slow there but they are very Friendly. At the end they give us fortune cookies and homemade almond cookies for little treats. I'm a regular here once a year for my business trip. It's better than eating fried food.

Best Orange Chicken in Tucson!!! I actually have to give props out to all the Yelper's out there b/c that is how i found this restaurant. I was tired of going to Chinese restaurants were all the food tasted microwaved or as if it had spent hours under a heat lamp. I went to Ba-Dar and was blown away by how fresh and amazing everything tasted. Never really ordered any fish dishes before but was told to try the lemon fish entree... AMAZING. Superb service and good boba drinks!!

Awesome!!! I have FINALLY found a good Chinese delivery restaurant! When Mei Hon closed its eastside location my family was very sad:( Ever since we have been on a hunt for a place to satisfy our Chinese cravings. I have tried several different restaurants and none have been anything special until Ba-Dar!! Whhooo Hooo they are awesome. I had my standard House Lo Mein as this is what I usually get to "test" out a restaurant as it has all 3 meats so I can usually gage if I'm going to like the other meat options, the noodles were NOT big fat yucky noodles, instead they were nice delicate noodles with just the right amount of sauce and veggies. I always ask for no bean sprouts and that's exactly what I got. My Daughter and Son in Law both had the Mongolian Beef which was delish! The meat was nice and tender, no chewy chunks, and it had just the right amount of sauce. The only suggestion I would have would be to make it a little spicier, but Ill ask for that next time :) We also tried the Kung Pau Chicken and that got mixed reviews mainly because everything else was sooo great I think we were all stuffed by the time we tried the chicken, it was good but not very flavorful. We all loved the Crab Puffs and the Soup was VERY good. I had the Hot & Sour and they both had Egg Drop. My daughter liked mine so much she tried to con me into trading with her !! The egg drop was good too but they did not care for the corn at the bottom, no biggie they just didn't eat the corn. The only thing we all agreed was not very good were the egg rolls. The cabbage inside was undercooked so when we took the first bite basically everything fell out, the wrapper was a bit on the soggy side too. I must say this could be due to the fact we had it delivered, so maybe in the restaurant they are a little better. Either way it will NOT stop us from returning. Try it you WILL like it :)

I had heard good things about this place, and had read a relatively glowing "Weekly" review probably a year ago. When I saw on the news that a car had crashed into their restaurant, and when we randomly found ourselves driving by it, I figured I'd give it a try. Parking was a little crazy. There was a huge group in there, and it seemed every one of them took a separate car, because the front lot was full, as was every space on the side and in the alley out back. We ended looping around and finally finding a space right out front. I can see parking being a problem, since the place was not full. Service is definitely bad. The place was maybe 3/4 full, but we ended up waiting for about fifteen minutes before a drink order could be placed. The kitchen's set up so that, from the dining area, you can see everything happening, and we had a clear view when the waitress, right before she came over to us, said something to the extent of "Oh no, I have another table!" The food came out way too fast for it to have been cooked fresh. It was less than five minutes from order to service. Who knows though. I always kung pao chicken to gauge a place, as it's on every Chinese restaurant menu in the country, and, although there is very little to this dish, it's so often done wrong and poorly that it's a good, general test. We also got a lemon fish. I really like the "real" Chinese lemon chicken, particularly the sauce, which is a slightly sweet, very lemony sort of concoction. But, since we already had a chicken dish, we decided to opt for fish. The menu's quite extensive. Lots of fairly unique stuff, lots of seafood dishes, including a ton of shrimp. Prices ran about $8-11 for each dish. Rice was free (not so everywhere). The gong bao chicken had a few peppers, lots of peanuts and a few crunchy veggies mixed in. Personally, I like the style (I'm not sure if it's the authentic Si Chuan style, but it's what you usually get in Shanghai) where it's just chicken, sauce, peanuts and chilis. Simple, but usually excellent. This style works well too, and this is one of the better ones I've had in Tucson. It wasn't spicy enough for my tastes though, and there was just something off about the chicken. I can't elaborate, the texture and taste was just weird. For the fish, which was served on a bed of cabbage with three lemon slices, the sauce was very, very close to what I'm used to, which was nice, but the fish was just awful. It was the generic, frozen whitefish that you get a lot, but it tasted like it had sat in the freezer too long. The texture was off and it tasted a bit old. Kinda yucky. Old Peking is my new favorite in Tucson (not saying much though), and that's a hell of a lot closer to where I live than this place. I guess if you're out on the eastside, this could become a regular stop, but I don't think I'll be back.

Really good; we tried 4 different dishes between us and all were great. I also really liked the fact the fried rice wasn't greasy. We'll definitely be back.

Great food, fast service, with a not-too-complex ambiance... Overall, awesome.

Typical greasy, msg-laden, frozen mix of vegetables covered in sugary soy glazes. After living in Asia for several years and searching for comparable food in the states, I am convinced that outside of LA and San Francisco (and probably New York), there is no good Chinese food to be found. I always feel that these cheap Chinese places betray a rich culinary heritage completely lost to the American public. I wouldn't go back, but I am biased against oily translations of Cantonese food sold in America.

As being a former New Yorker I have had the pleasure of eating some of the best chinese food outside of china. Ba Dar is pretty amazing considering it's here in Tucson. I've read through some of these reviews and flat out disagree as I have never had a bad experience in the many times I've eaten there.

After almost a year in Tucson, I've finally found a Chinese restaurant that meets a high standard. Yea!!! The place was packed for our first visit on a Sunday evening and the staff, while hurried, was still able to handle the rush. They were courteous and helpful even though there weren't enough of them. Everything we ordered was excellent from the string beans to the spicy crispy beef, but the Ba-Dar special fish was exceptional. Perfectly prepared and garnished, it was as good as any fish I've ever encountered in a Chinese restaurant. Thinking we might have been so surprised as to not be critical, we went again a week later and had another similar wonderful dinner. The crispy fish was great, the duck was excellent, and everything else was at least very, very good. Until I stumble across a better Chinese place in Tucson, this is my go to place. Be adventurous and try something here you'd normally not consider - you will not be disappointed.

Coming from a top Asian foodie destination, I am extremely picky when it comes to Chinese food. In fact, I usually prefer to cook at home, having been disappointed in many of the so-called Chinese restaurants here in town. Ba-Dar is probably the only one I do eat at when I feel the need to have someone else cook. Loved the 'secret' menu when they had it, but all you need to do is to let them know you want it authentic and not americanized, they'll be more than happy to accommodate.

Ba-Dar is amazing! We almost go there bi-weekly! They have the best cantonese/taiwanese cuisine! The chef just know how to cook fishes!! And the sizzling ginger chicken is beyond words. Would go there as often as I could! Well it does get crowded on weekend nights but a the dining experience is totally worthy of the wait!!

Best Chinese food we have had in Tucson! So refreshing to have great food and excellent customer service to follow. We ordered Egg Fried Rice, Sesame Chicken, Orange Chicken, and Beef w/Broccoli. My husband and I were stuffed afterwards...the portions were great sizes I could barely eat 1/2 of my orange chicken and he hurt himself finishing the sesame chicken because he simply could not stop eating it! We are having the Beef w/Broccoli for lunch today, but we did try a bite last night and it was fantastic. We also got Boba Slushies which are our favorites and they were great (we have had some at other local chinese restaurants and they were awful). Next time I will pick up the Mango flavor...but this time we had Strawberry and Passion Fruit. The guy taking care of my order was great and offered me suggestions and was very attentive during my short wait. He offered everyone drinks as they waited and when I told him my dog was in the car and I had just gotten him back from the vet he took my number down and offered to call me when my order was ready so I could wait with my sick pup. Overall, it was a great experience. They were packed when I placed my order and still made time to be kind, friendly, and very attentive to all my needs as well as everyone around me.

Bought take out from here last night and I gotta say it wasn't bad at all. The lo mein seemed a bit weird because I was expecting bigger noodles yet tasty it was.The fried shrimp is also unusual but very good and the beef and broccoli and almond chicken passed. Its not what I would expect in Cali.but then again I'm not IN Cali. Would revisit.

Every time we come to Tucson to visit my dad we go to Ba Dar for dinner. The food is fresh and delicious. I especially love their sesame tofu which is deep fried and crispy on the outside and is served over crispy rice noodles. YUM! The hot and sour soup is excellent too.

IMHO, the best Chinese food in Tucson. Service can be a little slow when busy for lunch or dinner, but the quality is worth the wait. Check the little menu specials in the table for unique stuff, little their spicy dumplings.

Best chinese food in town. Had the cantonese chow mein and it blew me away -- outstanding. Some wait staff very accomodating some kinda sour faced. However, the food is woth going for.

The food is great here. But all the food in the world won't taste sweet when you are treated like you are not there. Service is the main reason for the rating. If you do want to dine in, skip this place. But like I said before, the food is good so if you want to pickup, that will prob work better. The service didn't ask us what we wanted to drink. We had to flag them down to get drinks. We were never visited to see if we wanted anything else or if we were doing fine.

This restaurant has good Chinese food and good portions of it. I very rarely dine in I always take out . But I've been eating here for years and never had any complaints.

Great for Take-Out (they deliver, but we usually pick up). There is a big crowd, sitting by the fish tank waiting for their orders on Friday night. For some reason, the food's not as delicious when we eat at the restaurant. Possibly the take-out container is a secret ingredient. We ask for extra spicy on everything, even the Lo Mein, and it always has that heat we crave. Ba-Dar is a great basic, neighborhood Chinese fix.
