Make sure you step UP, when you enter, or you'll trip on the uneven doorway and fall into the restaurant like I did. Nothing like a grand entrance. A grouchy old broad was running the joint. Service is tough, gruff and to the point. No hearts, stars, flowers and unicorns here - but maybe that's your thing. The food is good and cheap. Four of us ate breakfast for $44, including tip. Throwback décor. An old skool, back in tha' day kinda vibe - like visiting Grandma's house, minus the macramé. The credit card machine is broken. They'll take checks, but from local banks only, and they're not happy about it. You'll have to provide your driver's license, cell phone number, social security card and collateral, like your first born child. For real. I'll be back when I'm in the mood to be dominated.

Real diner food! The kind of place the waitress will call you "sweetie" and watch for refills on your coffee and tea like a hawk. This is real down-home good ol' cooking. The outside of the building doesn't look like much, and inside is simple and small with tables and some booths. The food deals are very good. I've been here twice, the last time a year ago and most recently in February with my dad. The liver and onions I ordered (don't gag.. it's delicious!) was tasty, with excellent gravy and mashed potatoes and a side of carrots and peas for $5.99. My dad had the meatloaf special and seemed to enjoy it, and they brought him a salad beforehand too. We got free refills on very delicious ice tea. They serve breakfast all day (open until 2) along with lunch and there are specials to keep an eye on the whiteboard for. I'm eager to come back for a sandwich and a burger and try a soup. The breakfasts look well worth my time and the prices fit a tight budget. Last time I was here my dad and I both had pie- it was home baked I believe. They were advertising banana bread as well. Yum. Enjoyable place for a diner experience, excellent for a lunch break or breakfast.

The food deserves 5 stars for a breakfast dive. Why did I give them two stars? An indifferent waitress, $2.25 coffee and a $1 charge if you use a credit card. Each one of those items reduced my rating by one star. I will not return.

I absolutely loved this place. The outside looks like it's in shambles, maybe some old timey jail or something but the inside is quaint and had someone that reminds me of my grandmother as a waitress. While ordering, it was asked if we could have something added to the order and were told, you're paying for it you can have it any way you like. Now that's some service. The food was delicious and inexpensive too. Fair warning, this place only takes cash though. That should probably be updated in Yelp. I expected to pay with a card, and had to use an ATM at the circle K next door.

From the outside, it doesn't look like much, and if you are in the market for gourmet food, this probably is not the place for you. But if you are in the mood for a good cup of coffee and a no frills breakfast, then this is a nice little spot. I've been there for lunch as well. Again, nothing spectacular, just good, solid food at decent prices. The service is excellent, yet casual.

On my roadtrip across the US, we stopped in Tuscon and was recommended by a local to try out this place. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but the food was really good! It is basically all your homemade comfort foods. Prices weren't too bad either, considering the very generous portions. I had the meat loaf, and had to tell myself to stop eating because I would soon go into a food coma! If you're passing on through and have no idea where to eat, I'd suggest stopping here!

As an avid Mexican food fan, I found that the chorizo was bland. Had to add about half a cup of Cholula just to give it flavor. The beans needed salt. Service was average. My Coworker had the corned beef Hash and said it was a little bland, not much flavor to speak of. We were referred here by a colleague and sad to say we will not return. Little Mexico still #1 on our list. The search continues.

Great homemade food. Had chorizo and eggs. Chorizo is some of the best in town. Homemade pancakes are to die for. The place looks like a prison from outside, but step in and you're treated like you're at home.
